The scent of blood awoke Cas more then the sound of movement or the soft thud of Cole laying down. A Doctor by trade she knew the metallic scent likely better then any smell in the world as sad as that might sound and rousing from her slumber she half turned to stare at the dark outline of her companion.
"Cole..." She mumbled leveraging herself up on her arms as she dug for her first aid kit where she'd strapped it about her waist with the belt.
"Cole what happened? I can smell blood." Cas asked with a yawn reaching a gentle hand out to touch the mans arm looking to roll him over and check for injuries. Beside her the twins still slept fairly soundly though Cloak half cracked open a gold eye to check to see what all the commotion was about before returning to sleep. Dagger barely even twitched.

The man would remain curled up as he heard Cas quietly say his name, then after a bit of movement she'd ask him what happened--that she could smell blood. He slightly tightened up a bit hearing her ask, the man tensing. He'd feel the woman's hand land on his arm, a small tug trying to get him to roll over--but he was just dead weight. He finally took a shaky breath and would slowly push himself to sit up, head hung with his hair falling to hide his face....he still cupped the knuckles of his right hand with his left--and the man was visibly shaking.
Finally he'd let go of his knuckles, as if it hadn't already been obvious at this point, making it visible to her. The knuckles of his right hand was bruised and bleeding, dirt and pieces of small stone and pebble dirtying the wounds. They wasn't to bad, but enough to cause blood to run down his fingers--and his other hand was pretty covered from trying to cup the bloody knuckles.
"..I--...." he tried to explain but couldn't find the breath or words. The man was in legit shock right now, one glance at him would make it apparent he was pale. Frankly had he not been doing his best to hold it back he'd probably had puked with how his stomach felt. He drew a shaky breath and finally let out a quiet whimper of words. "...I...I'm sorry...I j-just..-..."--he took another breath, finally looking up to Cas with tears dried to his cheeks and new ones in the corner of his eyes. "...I lost...control..." Cole mumbled shakily. His head dropped again as he looked down. "...M-My sister....she's here....In the Digital World..." the man finally was starting to find his words, but he was still clearly in shock and extreme emotional instability. "Shes....b-been trapped here...for almost a decade..." he would tell her essentially the short version, as it was all he could muster.

"That's good though isn't it?" Cas asked somewhat unsure as she dug through her first aid kit for wipes trying to clean up his bloody and dirty knuckles and wipe the worst of the crimson liquid from his other hand. "I mean you thought she was dead and now you know she's not." The woman elaborated carefully dabbing his knuckles with ointment before applying a pad and working to wrap them with gauze. Knuckles were easy to patch, coming to her almost like second nature from the many brawls she herself had been in as a child.
"Sure being trapped is bad, but it's better then having been dead isn't it?" She asked unsure why he seemed upset, but doing her best to try to comfort him in her own way. Then again she'd never had any siblings or family beyond just her foster Father who while supportive was not the most loving of parental figures.

Cole would just let her do her job, even though part of him just wanted to leave it as some sort of self prescribed punishment--but no, he'd just hold up his hand to let her do her job--wincing once as she cleaned it up. He fell silent for a moment while she spoke, trying to calm himself down so he could actually speak properly--or at least the best he could considering.
He'd look up at her, eyes meeting Cas's as he responded quietly--voice a bit more calm but still holding signs of his strong emotions. "Yes....it is good shes alive...b-but Tsuki said she was without her Digimon--that she was alone...you--.." he stopped and glanced away, unable to look her in the eyes as the thought from earlier crossed his mind. "You've seen it...this place is dangerous...I almost got us all killed earlier and that was four of us....she's just by herself here..." he'd explain to her his concern, why he was so worried...even then that was weeks ago according to Tsuki...there was no proof she was even still alive--but no--Cole couldn't think like that, he won't! He took a breath and turned back to face Cas, looking to look her in the eyes again.
"Cas...I...I'm sorry....I'm sorry about earlier...I was an asshole and you didn't deserve me to snap at you like I did..." He'd begin to apologize about the incident earlier--clearly there was lingering guilt over it and he wanted it off his chest. "I just...when I thought about what could've happened....that you could've been hurt or worse because of things I had a huge hand in causing...it just ate at me...It was tearing me apart--but you was right...I should've just listened to you. Beating myself up wasn't going to do us any good and you saw that when I couldn't...then how I reacted...I just made an ass of myslf...I'm sorry Cas...." he'd continue, eyes finally glancing down from looking to Cas's face once he said sorry a second time. His eyes would look to his hand she freshly bandaged up, then to his arm. He sighed quietly. "...I promise I'm going to help us get home....but after that I need to find Scarlet...I...I need to bring her home..." he'd say, essentially making a promise to Cas as well as one to himself to help his sister. His eyes shifted back to look at Cas, tears still hanging in the edge of the man's eyes even if he was more calm then he had been.

"It's fine Cole...well I mean it's not fine, but I understand. I know what it's like to be upset and stressed, but you shouldn't think of me as though I'm some wilting damsel that is in need of rescue." Cas explained carefully bandaging up his knuckles and taping the gauze down before she worked on cleaning up her kit. Zipping it back up she stowed it back on her belt as she settled down between the pair of in-training digimon once more. Cloak and Dagger edging close to press themselves against her stomach and the small of her back seeking out her comfort and warmth in their sleep even as Cas let her eyes droop with exhaustion.
"We'll get out of this together and then I'll help you look for your sister or prep for looking for her ok? You don't have to shoulder everything on your own." She assured him in the quiet of the night even as she let her eyes fall upon the tiny digimons that slumbered next to her. True love, her Foster Father had told her, was a silent thing. Not found in big declarations or loud showy displays. It was soft and lingering. Found in small snatches and moments where one relaxed and showed their real selves. True love Cas thought, as she settled herself on her back looping one arm protectively around the Sakuttomon and Caprimon, was found when one ceased looking for it.
"Sometimes you don't have to be alone." Cas whispered as much to Cole as to herself. "Sometimes it's ok to let others in." She admitted even as she drifted off too exhausted to feel the weight of a familiar object settle itself in the pocket of the cotton dress. A thing that was as much a blessing and responsibility as it was a curse.

Cole would listen to her response, understandably she agree'd how he acted wasn't ok, but she understood the feeling of being upset and stressed. He'd nod softly with the second part that followed...he knew this--him and Cloak's conversation earlier brought this to his attention. Once she finished up with his hand he'd let it rest on his lap as he sat, the man being quiet for now. He was calming himself down and thinking while Cassandra cleaned up her medical gear. When would he learn to stop doing things that got himself hurt? Either way, he'd look over to her as she moved to be between the twins and settled down.
He still remained quiet--he'd honestly spoken enough a moment ago and he was tired, his eyes trailing back down to look at his newly wrapped hand. Cassandra's words would cross his ears, the man looking back over to her as she rested between Cloak and Dagger. She said she'd help him find his sister, or do what she could to help...it meant a lot to him, but the last part is what got him. 'You don't have to shoulder everything on your own'...these was words the man needed to hear...because until now that was his issue, he'd take the weight of the world upon his shoulders and try to bare it alone.
He'd shift in his spot and go to lay back down, laying on his back and looking up to the top of the tent--watching it slowly move with the breeze. It'd be a moment later Cas's soft voice would whisper, just a small bit of words as she was drifting to sleep...Cole would shut his eyes, nodding to himself as he'd accept her words. The man turned over and would simply whisper three words in return as Cas finished and was drifting off to sleep. "...Thank you Cas."
