In a fairly empty area of the Mainframe Hills, a lone wanderer is walking along the plains. Hands in the pockets of his leather trench coat, he seemed to be... searching for something.
"Not here..." the silver-haired man mumbles to himself. "I can't believe it's been six years..."
"Six years since your incident?" A mysterious voice called out to him.
"Exactly. And it's been two years since I've started my search, and I still haven't found any of the Spirits... or the culprit."
"I doubt that your culprit is a Digimon, or that there was even a culprit to begin with," the voice continued. "How can you be certain it's a Digimon?"
"I'm not..." the man admitted. "but a building just doesn't randomly explode, Falcomon. You know why I do what I do... Rebecca."
"Ah, yes, your younger sister, I presume?"
The man nodded. "Thankfully she's staying with our grandmother for the time being. Still, that incident changed her... I will have my revenge."

Iki wasn't the only one to be 'searching' for something in the Eastern Timberlands, although he was likely a lot more collected then the other. Marching his way in who knows what direction was Cole, the young man tailed by a BlackGabumon known as Tsukihikari--Tsuki for short. After what the man had found out earlier in the day he was sent on a mission--but with zero guidance, only driven by pure determination at this point. His hands gripped tightly at his sides, he was a cluster of mixed emotions and even at a glance--balled hands, slouched but hasty march--something was clearly wrong with the man.
"C-Cole...can we please take a break?" cried the BlackGabumon who had been tailing Cole for hours at this point."You're not gonna find her if you just run off in a random direction...I'm tryin to tell you dear, just hold up a minute." pleaded Tsuki, her caring female voice carrying across the plain. Cole finally stopped his march, Tsuki literally bumping into the tall man's legs and falling on her butt--but she simply sighed gleefully, happy to be off her feet. Cole stood silently, it was like someone put glasses on him that blocked everythhing else out...he had his sights on one thing even if he had no clue where to begin. His eyes averted down, looking to the ground as his hands balled into even tighter fists. Tsuki saw this and frowned, trying to nuzzle his hand but only to have it quickly pulled away. "Cole..." she said softly looking up at him. "I'll never find her if I just sit around and do nothing..." grunted the man.
As Cole stood in his mixed feelings of anger and pain, Tsuki glanced over and could see another. Another human?! She had only seen the one twice, then just earlier met 2 more--this one happening to be the little brother of the only other human she ever met before, and now a 4th, 3 in one day? Tsukihikari blinked her bright blues and lifted her paw, waving to the stranger. "Ello~!" she called, the friendly Digimon smiling across the way to the other Human she spotted. This drew Cole's attention, finally looking up to look over and see Iki--they was maybe a football field apart.

As Iki was collecting his thoughts, he heard what seemed to be a female voice coming from far off. He looked up and turned around, seeing a BlackGabumon calling out to him, it seemed.
With another human...?
"Iki..." the Falcomon spirit told the user, "is that...?"
"You bet your ass it is," Iki told his spirit. "What in hell are other humans doing here? I thought this place was only inhabited by other Digimon."
"Well, you see-" the Falcomon spirit began before Iki began walking off. "I do not think you should go confront them quite yet, Iki," Falcomon was saying.
"Keep quiet, I need answers," Iki scolded the spirit, who immediately kept quiet afterwards. Iki marched right up to Cole and, not wanting to waste any time, grabbed Cole by the collar of his shirt. "What are you doing here?"

Tsuki and Cole would see Iki start walking towards them, Tsuki's smile fading and Cole's eyes narrowing as the man approached--a none friendly look upon his features. "O-om. Hi?" Tsuki tried to say as Iki approached and finally clutched Cole by the collar of his shirt--a stern question directed at him. Cole's hand quickly would shove away Iki's hand, Cole was not some wimpy nerd--6'2" and 186lbs of muscle--and frankly with the day Cole was having Iki was lucky Cole didn't instantly swing on him for this aggressive action. Eyes narrowed angerly at Iki, Tsuki trying to push her way between them to prevent violence. "Guys come on there is no need for aggression" she pleaded, looking up at the two tall and fit men.
"I'm here to find someone, the hell is it to you?!" Cole barked back in anger. The man was in too much of an emotional wreck to stay calm in this situation. His hand balled even tighter into a fist, he wanted to just sock Iki but he knew that'd get him no where, the man turning and beginning to walk off instead. Tsuki watched this and her face showed concern, not sure what to do--glancing up to Iki. "Sir please, he's had a really rough day..." she'd say to Iki softly.

"Iki, you are not prepared to Spirit Evolve," Falcomon's voice was heard by Iki only. "Do NOT engage in combat, by any means necessary."
"I said... shut up," Iki quietly told his sprite spirit. He turned his attention to the BlackGabumon, after letting go of Cole's shirt. "Humans don't belong in the Digital World, you know. Seeing even one here is a real rarity, and unless they have the nerve to try and head back to Earth, they'll get shred to pieces by a wild Greymon in no time."
"You really shouldn't be here..." Iki told Cole. "Digimon are nothing but monsters, ready to ruin your life in any way they can. I'm surprised you're... traveling with one."
"You really should not be making enemies right now, Iki," Falcomon reminded him.
"Will you shut up for once?" Iki asked Falcomon quietly once again. He turned his attention to Tsuku. "So where are you taking him, may I ask?"

Cole stopped in his movement to walk away and turned back to Iki--aggressively coming back towards the younger man. "You think I'm here by choice?! You think I haven't already about died once today here?!" the man yelled, but behind his anger one could make out tears in Cole's eyes. He was clearly broken up about what was going on. Tsuki stepped between them again which would make Cole back down, turning away again and standing there. "...You're just a kid, who are you to tell me the dangers of this place...But....I...I have to find her..." the man spoke through grit teeth before he'd begin marching off again, trying to cool down.
Tsuki sighed and tried to keep Iki's attention off trying to fight Cole and more on resolving the issues at hand. "Look sir he's really having a bad day...he just found out his sister he thought was dead is alive and has been trapped here for 9 years....I don't expect you to sympathize or anything but please lets not resort to any violence here. I'm Tsuki, whats your name?" she said, trying to offer her paw to Iki to shake hands. She was a bit afraid though, even as a Digimon this man was nearly as physically intimidating as Cole was, and at this point she would rather not have to defend herself. "As far as why I'm with him, well...Its my fault he knows...and when he ran off I couldn't let him be alone, so I chased after him. We was already attacked by a BlackGrowlmon earlier...he knows the dangers of the Digital World, he's just...upset." she tried to explain to the man. She was clearly the much friendlier and level headed of the two.

"Get a hold of yourself already," Iki scolded the mentally unstable human. He then began to say a speech in the calmest manner possible. "You aren't the only one who has to deal with shit, you know. Some people lose a friend. Some lose their family. Some lose their entire way of life, and all in one night, too. And those people who have truly lost everything... they act more mature than you.
"You say you lost your sister, correct? Thought she was dead, but it turns out she was stuck here for nearly a decade? Heh. You got off lucky. I wish I could say the same about my family. About my sister. You still have the rest of your family, and a chance to save her. Others who have gone through pain don't have that chance. Frankly, just running off in an unknown would was a stupid mistake. And having a 'bad day' does not justify your childish actions. So what are you going to do? Sit there, and cry like a baby? Fight me? Or are you going to actually DO something about your sister?"
"Wow..." the Falcomon spirit muttered.

Tsuki frowned at her failure to keep Iki from lashing out at Cole, her paw dropping from the offered shake as she simply looked up at Iki with sad blue hues. Cole had before Iki's little lecture started stopped about 10 feet away, looking off into the distance as he caught his breath and tried to calm down. But Iki's words just built that anger back up. He seemed to draw a deeper breathe, as if he was to turn and retort back with more anger...but Cole simply stood quiet for a moment, still facing away from Iki and Tsuki.
Finally the silence was broken. "...I need to save her...before I don't have that chance...." he said, it reaffirmed his goals, but there was a small level of acceptance of what was said in Cole's words. He spoke a bit more calmly now. A sigh passed Cole's lips as he looked down, looking at his right hand. The knuckles had a bandage around them, soaked through with blood...Iki's words was harsh but there was truth in them, Cole needed to focus instead of blinding rushing off--likely to his doom.
"...So you have a sister too.......what happened to her...." Cole would ask, glancing over his shoulder to Iki, eyes still latent with anger but at least not full of blind rage anymore. Tsuki's attention bounced between the men as they had their back and forth--ears sunk down as there was clearly showings of tragic pasts from both sides of the fence. "If one day you woke up, was thrown into a world you didn't know existed, filled with monsters that could turn you into dinner like its nothing...and found out your sister was trapped here for a decade...wouldn't you do something if given the chance." Cole would come back with.

"If you want to save her, then just wandering around endlessly is not going to help anyone. Surely you know that, don't you?" The man asked Cole, giving him a cold stare. He then noticed the bandages around Cole's hand. Clearly, he had gotten into fights on his own, and he didn't even seem to be a Spirit User.
He clearly didn't have the patience or the prowess of one.
"My family business is none of yours," Iki said coldheartedly. "Ask again and I will break your arm."
"What a charmer you are, Iki..." The sprite spirit said sarcastically. "Threatening to injure others is surely a genius way to gain allies."

Cole would watch as Iki gave more retorts--the first one was simply repeating the same stuff from before, and then the threat came. Was funny coming from someone smaller both in height and muscle tone then Cole, the small thought of 'I'd like to see you try small fry' crossed Cole's mind...but he simply ignored it--if Iki had said that even 60 seconds earlier there would have been no avoiding a fight...but Cole was cooling down and becoming more focused--and it was becoming clear the type of person Iki was. Cole sighed in annoyance and turned back from looking over his shoulder at Iki, looking forward again.
"Heh...I hope for your sake you grow out of that attitude one day kid....Going around threatening others like that is just as useless as wandering endlessly..." Cole would say, motioning for Tsuki to follow him as he begun walking away--it was clear the two men would continue to bump heads--and unlike Iki, Cole had enough tact even in his unstable state to avoid unnecessary conflict. Tsuki sighed and with a jog she'd catch up to Cole, stopping half way to turn towards Iki and look at him...The Digimon would give a slight bow in his direction--Iki probably took it differently then she meant--but this was more a nod of acknowledgement for the Spirit Iki held, rather then anything for Iki...Even in her Rookie stage she could faintly sense the Spirit within Iki's presence. "I wish you luck in your endevours sir--I hope you get along with whats inside better then those outside." the Digimon would say with a smile. She was kind but she was also honest, and she could see the flaws with Iki just as Iki could pick on Cole's flaws. With that she turned and caught up with Cole, the two heading the direction they had come from...Cole fished out his Digivice as he walked, glancing at the dark gray and lightning blue device as he walked.

Iki looked down at his D-Tector. He couldn't let them know about his special abilities. Although, to him, it seemed like the BlackGabumon had caught on quite easily...
Oh well. Not the worst thing in the world, he thought.
"Hold on," Iki stops the two of them, hoping that at least the BlackGabumon would know something. "I'm looking for something very specific. I've heard of a legend that a spirit of a Digimon known as Angemon rests somewhere. I'm searching for that spirit, as maybe it'll help me understand something. Do you know where I can possible get more information about it?"
"For our sake, hopefully they won't find out that you are a Spirit User, Iki," Falcomon states. "I have a feeling that the Cole human would positively go insane if he saw you turn into... well, me."

Cole and Tsuki's ears both burned with the sound of Iki saying something. Cole just kept walking--he was new to all this and clearly had no info to give, simply continuing to walk off. Tsuki on the other hand stopped and faced Iki, the BlackGabumon tilting her head--bright blue hues blinking. "A Spirit of Angemon? I haven't heard anything about it besides the legend itself, but ah...It probably is nothing but I always get this feeling something is there when I go to the Village of Beginnings...It feels like a Spirit...If the feeling I have right now is anything to go off of." she'd say, head going back from its tilted position as she spoke.
Her words of course confirmed Iki's ideas that she caught on, but without openly outright saying it. She had been around for a while and was rather wise with the Digital World, many legends had passed her ears over the years and multiple life cycles, and she just...had a knack for feeling things. "I know its not much sir--but I hope you find what you're searching for! Just be nicer if you go there, the Digimon protecting the village won't be as friendly as me dear." she'd call out gleefully, ending with a warning--waving before turning to catch up to Cole--who'd continued on ahead. "Cole he's looking for something to..." she'd quietly say to Cole, the man sighing. "Chasing some legend and making sure my sister is safe are very different things Tsuki..." "I know..." the two quietly exchanged as they walked.
