Round 3: Clash of Obsidian [Alicia vs. Iko]

Of course he had a burst weapon of his own. Alicia could only sigh as he heard him call out the attack name, and realize his would fire first. Then she grit her abstract teeth as notes of pain radiated from the impact points on her body. Her figure distorted as the close range shotgun blast of fragments tore through, leaving holes in her fluid body for a time. It hurt terribly, that much couldn’t be denied. And Alicia would certainly be feeling that for the rest of the battle.
But in the end, it only delayed her attack. She hadn’t been blown away, having maintained her tight grip on his shoulders. She had pulled together in short order and her spikes would now find much less defense in the way of their assault. Once it was said and done, only then did she let go and kick away, pulling her spikes back. That was the thing about Mercurialdramon, she could hide just how badly she was hurting quite easily since her body didn’t retain signs of damage.
It took seeing hints in her expressions to realize she was indeed harmed, and quite badly at that. One eye was closed a bit more than the other, a perpetual wince of pain, and her breath, much as she only replicated it for a sense of normalcy, was shorter than it usually was. “It’ll take more than that.” She gritted out with a smirk, pulling away after the result of her attack and putting a short amount of distance between them.
Battle Log:
Alicia is, unfortunately, caught off guard by the Armor Weapon attack, and only has the time to try to brace and endure the assault, which deals significant damage.
However, her Fright Burst still follows through as planned from last turn. The damage only delays it briefly by disrupting Alicia’s focus for that short period. She disengages about a foot or two after the effect of Fright Burst.
Fright Burst CD: 0/1 [OOC note explains]
((OOC: Given the set up of Sci’s post, which puts his Armor Weapon as potentially happening just a bit faster than Alicia’s Fright Burst, I felt like this turn is dedicated to how the Armor Weapon hit interacts with Alicia’s Fright Burst. As such, no follow up attack, and Fright Burst will be taking an extra turn to cool down.))

If Alicia had one advantage in that exchange, it was that Iko still really didn't have a clear idea of what happened behind him. His attack was fired and aimed by the feeling of the the other Digimon against his back - the only reason he knew his attack hit at all was by the slight sound the spikes made, traveling straight trhougfh that metallic body. Shortly after, the wolf's attention was brought to his pain, a white flash passing his eyes as those sharp spikes pierced into his bare back!
Gritting his teeth, faintly feeling the spirit user mercifully push away, the Shaininmon turned on the spot. He could only guess that the two were at about the same amount of damage, a slight tensing of his back allowing those now-red-tipped spikes to fall to the battlefield below. His own expression, wincing pain and with heavy breath, was hidden well by the helmet. Sure, it might take more than that...
... But the wolf was willing to oblige. "Then I guess we should get that started." Tensing his fists, those crescent blades gave one more 'pulse'. With three more blades, the Crescent Whips at his side had reached their maximum capacity of 15 feet, each dangling from the outside of his wrist. At this point, Iko was perfectly fine playing the ranged-game:
Even as those three blades were being generated, the wolf already swung his right arm around, from right to left, in an impressive hook. Amplified over the entirety of the whip itself, the end of this weapon now carried tremendous speed. This simple motion was given to simply try and pierce through the metallic monster from - though it wasn't just one weapon.
Presumably, Alicia would try and dodge this strike in some manner - and thus, Iko's left arm shot forward, the crescent whip shooting out by a spike. It was noticeably slower, but would flick like a whip, ready to match the movements in Iko's left arm, to try and snare Mercurialdramon from a distance.
One fast, furious, and imprecise. One slower and precise. With Iko having his weapons at maximum capacity, how would Alicia respond?
Iko is hit heavily by the Fright Burst, but tries to hide the damage via his visor. He completes 'Crescent Whip' and attacks - his right arm goes for a slash across the body, while his left aims the whip forward, intent on 'catching' Alicia in a slower-but-not-really-that-slow manner. Crescent Blades: 15ft/15ft. The edge of the whip can exceed the speed of sound.

“And you had those for quite long enough.” Alicia quipped as the wolf lashed out with those bladed whips once again. One whip was coming from the side, the other following it up with a forward ‘snap’ for a piercing blow. The mercury dragon formed her blades once more. Instead of evading the attacks, she interposed her own blades between them and herself.
With a pair of clangs, the right whip was knocked upward as she ducked down, and the left whip was knocked further left, off target. With the clash breaking their momentum, she grasped the whips with a quick expansion of one hand which swallowed that blade up in turn, not having to worry much about cutting herself in this form with the dedicated attack disrupted. Following that, she quickly tugged hard on them to yank Iko’s arms forward and hopefully pull the wolf off center for just a moment, enough time for her to engage.
“Mercurial Divider!” Her remaining arm blade came down as one knee formed a new blade and kicked up. It wasn’t an attack aimed to hurt the wolf, though. As she had implied earlier... her target was the Crescent Blades themselves. She was aiming to break off as many links as possible. To that end, she was targeting the connection between two blades.
At best, she’d only leave him with one link on each hand. At worst? Well, anything less was unacceptable in her eyes. These needed to be removed as a threat, now.
Combat Log:
Alicia forms her Mercurial Divider and parries the whips, disrupting their momentum for a moment and robbing them of their power. In that moment she takes hold of the whips and yanks to pull Iko towards her a bit, and especially to pull his arms out for longer than the instant he uses to flick the whips.
There is also slight damage to her hand from grabbing and tugging on the bladed whips
She then engages, attempted to specifically break the whips to one degree to another. She’s aiming to break off 14 of the 15 links to be exact.
Fright Burst is available next round Mercurial Divider CD: 0/2

Well, that was awkward: fast as Iko's cross-slash might have been, Alicia's form was a thick, liquid metal. In retrospect, simply creating a temporary solid barrier, and using the rest of her frame as a 'brake' to slow down the blades, could certainly trap his attack.
Alicia's first blocking arm let out a roaring clang in the arena, perhaps even denting the first blade with its sheer force. The second was more easily deflected, and as the blades were caught, the Shaininmon let out a snarl. He raked his brain for ideas - that powerful blade from before would likely be more than enough to cut through his whips. Though...
... Wasn't Alicia going about this a bit too fast? Feeling that yank, Iko noted Alicia's quick approach. She intended to break away the first link out of each of his blades? Realizing this - and with his whip still trapped in Alicia's frame - the wolf gave a grin, and pulled his arms, pushing himself forward as hard as he could muster. Like this, the blades would slightly drag inside, further cutting into the mercurial beast, easily allowing her to slash inside the first blade of both arms.
That was fine, Iko didn't need them anymore: what Alicia had done, likely without even realizing it, was create a slingshot! He propelled himself forward, right towards the center of Alicia's frame - and about a moment before they would make contact, a dark spark erupted around him, Iko's entire frame covered in black, cursed fire, one that would be able to sear even the liquid metal that Alicia was made of.
Burning Darkness!
At this range, and with her attention drawn on the whips, it was unlikely that Alicia could dodge this all that well: propelling right for her center of mass, Iko would aim to tear into her with both hands, and ram into her with the full force of his shoulder!
Log:
Seeing the writing on the wall, Iko doesn't try to protect the Crescent Whip at all, and instead pulls on both arms, propelling himself forward to Alicia as she tries to strike at the whip. Using this as a 'makeshift slingshot', as the Mercurial Blade severs his own, Iko uses 'Burning Darkness III' and attempts to slam himself against Alicia.
With his helmet to filter the gas, and his shadowflame ignoring fire resistance, he intends to use his 'ultimate' ability to burn Mercurialdramon down!
Burning Darkness III: 1/3 Crescent Whip is destroyed!

Well, she’d gotten what she wanted out of the exchange. His whips were solidly broken and if he ever intended to use them again, he’d need to start from scratch. However, he looked to be trying to get something out of this himself, utilizing her own battle plan to launch himself at her. And the wolf enveloped himself in what she could only describe as a kind of hellfire.
She only had seconds to react, and very rapidly viable options were being closed off. “Slide!” Pooling her strength, she began to change her form. As she did, though, she quickly made use of her flexibility before it faded away, ‘inverting’ herself so her back was to Iko and she was looking over her shoulder. Then her armor began to form up again, starting from her tail and working its way up.
She beat both sets of wings heavily, trying to open distance between them, but he successfully slammed into her. What he found, however, was not the easily grasped and torn mercury of Mercurialdramon. No, he ran smack dab into the heavy armor of the form she began with, “Metalumindramon!”
Even if he tried to claw at her, he would find the armor unyielding. He might scratch it up something fierce, even put small channels in it potentially, but he simply wouldn’t have the physical strength needed to tear it open. Similar, his energy shroud, though still potent, would have a muted effect upon her armor. The heat still drew a hiss of pain, but compared to what it could’ve done? She’d much rather eat this on her most defensively minded form.
She then promptly whipped him with her tail and opened up the space she’d wanted early, ascending higher.
Combat Log:
Alicia slides to Metalumindramon knowing she can’t evade it, but tries anyways.
She fails, however, and Iko connects. However, it is upon her thick armor instead of fluid mercury, and his attack’s power suffers as a result of her Metal Juggernaut passive.
Afterward, she shakes him off with a light tail whip and tries to pull away from Iko as well as rising higher.

Well, talk about replacing a net with a brick wall: as soon as Iko made his launch, Alicia's own form twisted once more - but this time, not as another amorphous form of liquid, but as the very intimidating dragon that she had started this battle with! Iko's shoulder heavily struck against what would have been the western dragon's chest, claws and flame pressed against that silver-plated armor. Indeed, his bare nails did little, and Alicia's scales would have been spared the direct contact of Iko's flame.
However, Iko did not panic: this was not the typical flame of a Meramon, or even a fireball of a Greymon. Rather, this was the full blaze of his shadowfire, one that would greatly heat - and even burn - the very armor that it came into contact with. More importantly, the heat itself would make the armor a blazing hot red. Looking at this from a distance, Luke couldn't help but give a smirk:
"Heh. That's your game?"
The tamer's words, inaudible to the fighters through the roar of the crowd, was not without merit: pushed back with that tail, Iko still had a straight, close-range shot available to that armor - and unlike previously, he now had the black flame coating around him, obscuring any sort of attack he'd prepare underneath. From Alicia's perspective, a white ray of light would just suddenly tear through the flame from the Shaininmon's forehead, aiming to strike that heated metal with a close-range Lunar Ray. With the armor's integrity lowered by Iko's 'ultimate', this was liable to even shatter the armor at her chest!
However, Iko couldn't stay there for long: after that 'snap shot', he unfurled his own wings, and with a powerful beat, moved to climb at a steep incline - intending to stay at Alicia's side, a good two dragon-arm-lengths away. His smaller frame could, theoretically, ascend much more easily than the massive ten-foot dragon - in the sky, so long as he didn't stay below Alicia, Iko had the advantage. He could 'pick' at her from a distance.
In this reasoning, he tried to get slightly above, and directly behind her. Having seen 'Radiant Steel' before, Iko knew that the torque she'd be able to pull off with that appendage was much lower if he stayed near the source.
And just try and Slide again. Next time... I'll just blast at the point you transform!
Log:
Iko's shoulder hits Alicia's armor, and he's spaced by the tail. While pressed back, Iko counters with 'Lunar Ray', a straight blast of energy aimed right at that heated armor.
Afterwards, as Alicia climbed altitude, Iko took flight as well - intending to surpass Alicia's height and improve his own positioning, with his smaller frame. His intent, ideally, was to use the sudden surprise of the damage to pass Alicia on her left side, and stay in position above and behind the dragon's tail. He'd still attempt this, even if Alicia's senses remained in-tact.

Resignation
Azure has informed me via PM that unfortunately real life has become a pressing matter and that he will have to resign from the tournament.
It is unfortunate that it ended this way, but this means that Iko is the winner of this round.
Luke and Iko get 2000 bits Alicia gets 1000 bits
