Knowledge Is Power [Armor Hunt][Cas/Viktor][complete]

Only the tips of the tallest, most ancient of the crumbling stone buildings broke the surface of the water. Reaching out of the depths like the fingertips of some great hand rising skyward. Like a drowning man grasping for air. While not an archaeologist the mystery and ancient allure the buildings held was more than enough to draw in a curious mind such as Doctor Cross. Knowledge in all it's forms was valuable and knowledge in the hands of those whom knew how to wield it was power.
And power to deal with the black spires that threatened to tear this world asunder was what the trio needed most now. Especially in the face of their decisively close call upon the digital tundra. The encounter leaving them wiser, but no more prepared to face the trails ahead. With new discovery though came new opportunity.
"I wonder..." Cassandra murmurs softly trailing her fingers over the delicate stone carved mural before her which depicted sunlight upon a dappled pool and something glowing within it. "How they managed to carve such intricate details." She mused aloud as much to herself as to Cloak and Dagger who lingered nearby. The Kotemon seemed content to observe the mural much like herself. Dagger though, the Zubamon, was busy peering out of one of the nearby empty windows at the sea below. They'd strayed far from the inhabited districts of the city and into the outskirts. The hum of civilization having fallen quiet with only the soft drip of water and the waves to break the silence. There was no boardwalks for them to use now leaving Cas to dawn a bathing suit, booties, and a wetsuit, an empty mesh diving bag tied to a clip belt around her waist, and her waterproof medic kit strapped to the back of the belt. The Doctors usually short wild blonde hair had been pushed back from her face with a headband, the pale honeyed locks darkened to a shade more like burnished gold while still damp with sea water from one of their swims between the buildings.
"I know not how they did it Hime. The stone is too smooth to have been carved with claws or chisels." Cloak murmured tracing a damp sleeved hand over the stone like his Tamer. He was less enthused about getting wet, but understood the need to search, to explore, and the importance finding the likes of digi armor held.
"I don't see how a mural is going to help us find a digi armor egg." Dagger muttered flicking his bladed tail in impatience even as he leaned back from the window before pausing and looking out once again. He could have sworn he'd just seen movement....but perhaps it was a trick of the waves and the light glinting off the sea.
"Many ancient civilizations told their stories through pictures. Perhaps if we find this pool we might find what we seek or it could be a dead end. Either way it's somewhat fun exploring places where no ones walked in who knows how many years." Cas explained with a smile turning from the mural in question to grin at her partners.

The sunken metropolitan was something out of a movie, with waves gently crashing around the edges of only the tallest, most impressive buildings. Creatures lurked beneath the depth. Leviathans and aquatic life alike, all intelligent Digimon just trying to live. The view of a Seadramon dancing it's way through the calm waters and the occasional break from below the gentle waves were much more friendly looking Digimon. Viktor had heard stories of certain marine fairing Digimon snatching humans to their dooms many leagues below the surface... but when he entered, it was like he was carrying a diseases. Digimon who might have taken interest in a Renamon and a Human were deterred by them simply for sense or because of minor appearances. Any Digimon that knew of the D-Reaper were smart to turn tail against this sudden threat.
"Are you certain this is the way? Viktor, our master demands-"
Viktor held up a hand as he tended the fire they build on a building the stood defiantly against the water. He could hear the sound of what sounded like others... someone swimming. Likely they didn't spot them this high up yet, but he simply ignored it and continued to wring out his clothes;
"I'm well aware of what it wants."
Genesis shook her head, leaning on the stool she fashioned from a few stones;
"IT freed us from corruption. The least we could do is obey a few little steps~"
Genesis was willing and able, but Viktor only played the part. It was the only way to continue to keep his grasp on himself. Genesis' problem was that she fought too much, and the D-Reaper consumed her sanity and made her a all to willing slave. While Viktor understood if he wanted to escape this prison... he'd need to play along as the obedient dog. Because when the time came, he could strike. Perhaps the Orb could free him... but he risked being thrown back as it's 'statue' again. Perhaps the Knights? No. They'd simply kill him.
Viktor shook his head, thinking too much on that would send a red flag to the D-Reaper inside him, and it would simply take over fully. He walked over to the edge of the building, prompting Genesis to stand and begin walking over to him. A clear indication she did not fully believe he was fully embracing his gift. He turned and spoke;
"Human. Two Digimon. Coming our way."
He figured he'd promote something to the D-Reaper. He gestured to his bag and Genesis nodded with a smile;
"Oh? You left your rifle in the human world, Vik. This would make fun target practice."
Viktor closed his eyes and shook his head; "The visor, fox."
Genesis smacked her lips and returned the gesture to Viktor, running back to his bag and producing an angular, sharp edged mask that had a single lens over the eyes with a single nob around it. It had a faded pattern of camouflage around the olive drab finish. Clear this item was used many times in several scenarios. Viktor pulled the lens off and pressed the two viewing ports, turning the knob as it zoomed so close it could make out... someone. The individual had her back turned, but just by zooming, Viktor could clearly see she was female. A familiar... shapely figure actually. He had seen her somewhere, but he couldn't place it.
Genesis interrupted his query as she tapped him on the shoulder;
"You done gawking at the pretty lady? Let me see."
Viktor shook his head; "Her back is to us. I cannot make out a face."
Genesis chuckled and leaned back; "Yeah, that's why you continue to watch. Tch. Humans."
Viktor stood from his leaning position and shoved the visor back into her arms; "She also has two digimon, a medical bag, and several other quality of life items. But if you'd look beyond your own pointed muzzle, you'd see that."
Genesis smiled; "Then let's go pay them a visit, shall we?"
Viktor sighed, looking again, watching her for a few more minutes. Catching every interaction and movement before finally she turned... blinked and shook his head, then looked again, keeping his cool;
It was Cas.
Genesis looked to Viktor;
"Come on, Vik. Time for YOU to be the fox, now."
She extended her red tinged hand. Viktor shook his head;
"No. Too overpowering, we'd be wasting it for the rest of the day. Meet force for force. Let you knock that rust off."
He winked and she smiled, taking the form of a Corrupt Taomon, then held out her sleeve-covered hand;
"Shall we, little fox?"
Viktor frowned as he put on his sunglasses, which flickered twice and completely hid his red tinged eyes;
"Don't call me that." ________________________________________________________
Within seconds, Genesis landed meters from Cas and her Digimon, Viktor climbed down, wearing only his trousers as Genesis held out her jagged dagger of a paintbrush. He held out his arms;
"Long time. No see. Wasn't aware you had Digimon."
And by how their last few meetings went... she likely didn't know he had them either!

Dagger spotted the Taomon and human first surprisingly. Alarm sending him scrambling back away from the window and half broken wall as the man and digimon landed where he had stood not seconds before. His cry of surprise causing Cas to turn as Cloak shifted in front of her drawing his sword as the little Kotemon leveled it threateningly at the newcomers while his twin circled around to join him his bladed tail lashing in fear an irritation. Something did not smell right about these two.
"Viktor!" Cas gasped out in joy and surprise her bright sky blue eyes going wide in shock as she recognized the man in front of her before her brain registered the bare flesh of his chest and she was forced to focus upon his sunglasses lest her cheeks turn redder then mere sun could cause.
"What. Do. You. Want?" Cloak ground out his words leaving no room for argument as he shot an arm out to stop his Tamer from passing him and going to greet the stranger.
"Cloak it's fine. I know him...well I didn't know he was a Tamer, but I know Viktor well enough." She joked out voice light, but the little swordsman did not budge.
"Cas while I'm sure you have a friend name Viktor....I'm not so sure that's him anymore." Dagger hissed out moving forward to block his Tamer's path and prevent the man...if he could even really be called that anymore and the digimon beside him from approaching her.
"He doesn't smell right. He doesn't smell right at all...." The Zubamon murmured even as Cas came up short with a frown as she eyed the two in front of her with newer sharper eyes. Trying to see what her digimon had so clearly sensed.

Well, this was to be expected. Genesis and Viktor garnered that reaction Digimon who were more aware than others. Perhaps it was the slight red tinge they both carried. Genesis' entire scheme of her armor changed, favoring more Red and Black than her usually white and purple. Viktor, on the other hand, was a dead giveaway with the soft hum of the red veins that coursed through his body. (Music!)He only crossed his arms as he looked to her; "I am more than just a tamer, I am part Digimon. As such, I can sense your partners. Have them ascend. It is in your best interest... Trust me"Viktor unfolded his arms and stood as Genesis spun her brush, drawing a single symbol in a violent red that seemed to vibrate in place. Like it was begging to be unleashed. Viktor held up his hand, as if to give command. Genesis only smiled under her mask, waiting patiently. "Final warning. Ascend or be consumed."Viktor's voice was different. It was much more sharp and cold... almost like he was speaking from his throat alone. He couldn't let his feelings for Cas give away his freedom. If he did... it would be over in an instant. The D-Reaper only let him have his mind because of his ability to think creatively and win battles over much tougher enemies. It just had the idea that it fully controlled him. The voice inside him compelled him to unleash his attack, but Viktor knew it wait. No sense in wasting an attack if the foes weren't ready, and the whole premise was to allow Genesis to continue her skill. They'd wait... watch them take their highest form and Viktor would release his hand, and let slip the Dogs of war. Genesis pushed out with her opposite hand, sending the symbol flying on a perfect path to hit Cloak if he wasn't quick enough to move! She'd then do a quick hop and spin, looking to strike Dagger with the staff. It wouldn't be fatal, but she wasn't looking to kill. Only maim. For now. Viktor looked to Cas, walking ever closer, gesturing with his hand; "I assure you, Cas. I am very much Viktor. Last I saw you, I was running from my destiny. But now, I have embraced it. When Genesis takes your clones down, surrender. You will not be harmed."To assure her, he gave a familiar chuckle, "Here I thought I got an idea of you the few times I saw you without the lab coat. But this doesn't leave much to the imagination."He crossed his arms, giving a even more familiar smile!

"Ascend?" Cas questions softly her confusion clear as she takes a step back her sharp intelligent eyes assessing the situation. It's clear by the subtle tightly of her jaw that she's not finding their odds favorable even as a low growl rises up from Daggers throat at the threat. Cloak remains silent, unwilling to move from his place between his Tamer and the enemy acting as a physical buffer between the two.
"Viktor you don't have to do this..." Cas murmurs softly, but it's already too late as the glowing red symbol slams into Cloak, the Kotemon unwilling to dodge lest it hit her as the attack sends him tumbling to the ground with a wooden crack as it snaps his sword. Dagger is faster and with his twin down he ducks the staff strike just barely nicking the wood with his horn as he dives for his twin.
"Cloak!" He yells out with concern his worry for his sibling showing through even as he tries to haul the stunned Kotemon to his feet and drag him back away from their enemy hoping to lead the Taomon away from their Tamer.
"Perhaps..." Cas murmurs shuddering as she feels Viktor's gaze slide over her form. It is true in the skintight wetsuit there is little to hide the soft swell of her curves and the toned muscles of her arms and legs, leaving her feeling more naked and exposed before this man who was not entirely a man then she ever has before. Making Cas wish desperate for the false safety of her Doctors coat. Despite the wariness in her body language she does not step away from him her eyes when she meets his are hard and bright with that witty dangerous edge he had seen once before when she had confronted him.
"Perhaps if you had not attacked them I might have complied." She spits out her words like acid as she moves launching herself towards him of all things to attack, before she ducks into a slide slipping between his legs as she dives for the twins. Reaching out she snags her arms around each of the rookies her momentum carrying forward as she makes for the window. No time for fear. No time to stop.
Cassandra leaps....
Her body and those of her digimon plummeting through the air as she points her feet and tries to lessen the impact hitting the water from a seven story dive will have, but feels something give in her left leg with a sharp crack as she hits the water. Leaving her floundering as she struggles to the surface pulling her digimon up with her as the trio make for the nearest building. Cas less swimming then just trying to stay afloat as Dagger pulls her along and Cloak regaining some of his senses attempts to help. The two rookies hauling the woman out onto a low ledge and half dragging her through a hole into the other building they hope is too small for the likes of Viktor and his digimon to fit through.

Just like that, she had fled. Viktor only smiled, walking to the edge as he watched her struggle to stay afloat and swim into a nearby building. He signaled to Genesis;
"That was quite the fall. She's injured, got to be." he held out his hand and Genesis scooped him up, then landed atop the building where they weaseled into;
"They cannot stay in there for long. We can wait them out... or."
Viktor began stomping his foot around and listened, leaning down as he pressed his ear against the hardened concrete, hearing everything below him. He closed his eyes, visualising the sounds of dripping water, of moaning metal that begged for release and... of splashing. Someone or something desperately trying to keep to the surface or hiding in what little refuge of dry land they could muster;
"Wait for my call. I will tell you when to strike."
Viktor swung over leapt into the water, swimming into the very same hold as he did indeed find part of the building, which seemed to be some kind of office, slightly above the water line. It still had water dripping in places from the condensation and general evaporation, and the metal moaned and creaked as he walked slowly, producing a baton from his trousers and flicking it down. It zapped to life as he clung it to his side, pushing open doors with his free hand and moving so silently, even her duo Digimon would have trouble hearing him. He began tapping, seemingly to scare his prey, but, if listened carefully, was actually Morse code.
"I T -stop- C A N T -stop- K N O W"
The Morse continued until he would finally hear a noise that was unlike anything he was already growing familiar with. Then he'd give a slight smile, turning in it's direction to continue the hunt!
Viktor kept his feelings down, but he truly hoped Cas was alright!

"What's wrong? Hime what's wrong?" Cloak whispered, pleaded, begged as he and Dagger helped pull Cas backwards up onto a thin ledge like ramp and onto a somewhat dry floor as the woman kept her eyes closed, her teeth clenched as she tied to breath through her teeth.
"Leg....fractured..." She began only to let out a yelp of pain despite herself as the limb was jostled when the twins tried to sit her up against a wall. "No. Scratch that. Broken. Definitely broken." She whispered weakly head lolling slightly from the pain as her vision swam.
"What do you need?" Cloak questioned as Dagger hovered nearby wringing his clawed hands slightly in worry. "We'll get you what ever you want." The Zubamon swore as he inched close his eyes wide with fear for his Tamer.
"I..I need to sticks or poles or something. Close to the same length. Have to splint it." Cas explained weakly as the twins nodded and glanced at one another.
"I'll stay with her." Cloak murmured as Dagger nodded sharply. His claws and bladed tail would be better for cutting the right lengths.
"I saw some pipe that might work further back." The Zubamon quipped spinning and all out sprinting on all fours to fetch what his Tamer needs as Cloak reached out carefully mopping Cas's gradually warming brow with his soaked sleeve.
"It's ok Hime. It's going to be ok." He murmurs unable to tear his eyes from her pale face as she leans her head into his touch. Silently the Kotemon urges his twin to hurry. It's not long before the tapping begins leaving the rookie to stiffen. He is alone, weaponless, without his sibling, and with only his wits to defend his injured tamer. Shaking slightly with fear he feels the Cas's slim hand close around his own. Her breathing is shallow and eyes hazy, but there's still a spark in those blue depths that refuses to die out.
"Lead him into the water." She whispers to him softly nodding towards the shallow pool between them and the hole in the wall the sound echoes from. Silently the Kotemon nods and hefts the shattered remains of his bokken and steps towards the edge of the shallow pool.

The symphony of silence was quite peaceful to Viktor. So much so that he thought about returning to this place to sleep. The D-Reaper did allow that. In actuality, it knew of human needs and often ensured it's host was healthy and strong. It encouraged him to work out. It made him desire to eat more so than he did before. It didn't really affect him too much though, as the Digimon DNA within him would burn through even the fattiest and sugar-loaded meals like nothing. What was more was that it seemed to 'enhance' his work outs too. Tapping into this he never thought possible without gaining to much mass. He was still the lean yet muscular guy, just now his muscles were more dense, and coupled with his already high end fighting skills from both training and fighting as Kajunemon. He was a force to be reckoned with by both human and lower-level Digimon alike.
A new symphony was heard. One of cries and yelps. His prey was injured, but alive. So that was good. But the muffled cried and footsteps, as well as faint whispers were only one thing; a lead. Like a rabbit leaving a scent, the fox wouldn't rush in. It would wait... it was patient. The meal would come, and it would feast soon enough. Viktor rounded a corner, and there stood her Kotemon, as if in waiting for him. He clasped his hands behind his back, further hiding the baton;
"Well, well, well. Come to settle this with a one on one fight?"
He stepped a few paces closer, edging to the shallow pool between them. He showed his cards, the baton that was very much a threat to this Rookie;
"Or maybe you want to sacrifice yourself? I wasn't kidding... I am part Digimon."
He stepped closer, a few more paces closer...
"Where's your tamer? I know she's hurt. Probably broke something jumping that high. But, it is your fault, you know. You could have protected her, could have taken most of the fall in that. Yet she's the one who's injured. The keys to your power. Pathetic. I was going to have Genesis bestow the gift on you... but now I see your corruption."
He flicked the baton out, extending it and began approaching. But... just before he stepped into the water, he stopped;
"Don't think I didn't notice your little subterfuge. You want me down, you'll have to do it by hand!"
Almost like he was channeling Kajunemon into him, the human took two steps on the wall and cleared the gap between them, bringing his baton around to strike the Kotemon clean on the top of his head. If it struck, he'd use the momentum to wrap his legs around his foe's midsection and throw him several feet in the opposite direction. Viktor would then roll to his feet, pointing his baton. Whether or not he landed his attacks, he'd speak;
"Show me my rabbit. The fox needs to feast!"

Cas lay still and silent gritting her teeth in order to not call out in frustration from where she was just barely hidden from sight around the corner near the ledge her Digimon had pulled her up on. Silently she hoped Cloak knew Viktors words were not true. None of them were true and if he hurt her digimon...The mere thought made Cas see red or perhaps it was more black as pain made her vision hazy as she tried to quietly shift back down the ledge towards the water filled tunnel Dagger had ventured down in search of a splint.
"I will never let an abomination like you touch her!" Cloak hisses out even as he levels the remains of his sword at the man. Fury and desperation overcoming his fear as he watched this...this thing scale the wall and lash out at him with the baton. The Kotemon blocks the strike fairly easily, but the force behind it sends him skidding back on the slick ground.
"BURN." The Digimon growls out lashing out with it's broken sword as it sends a arcing blade of flame flying at him.
Cas however, would not get far down the ledge before Dagger returned, the Zubamon alerted by the sounds of battle rushing to his Tamer's side. Two pieces of even pipe clutched in one hand as he opens his mouth to question her, but snaps it closes as she makes a shushing motion. Cloak is buying them precious time and quietly she motions for Dagger to lay the pipe on either side of her leg as Gaze fishes out gauze from her medics pouch to use as makeshift ties. Then she pulls off her headband leaving her soaked locks to cascade down around her face as she shoves the piece of cloth between her teeth and sets her leg.
The bone coming back together with a sickening crack as the woman slumps over. Leaving Dagger to rapidly try to tie the split into place around his trembling Tamer's leg.

As the fire rushed to Viktor, looking to consume him, he very quickly dived to his stomach, letting the flames rise above him as he just as quickly rolled to his feet, dragged the baton's tip across the ground and attempted to swing upward with his baton, looking to strike him clean in the jaw!
"You're outclassed. In more ways than you could possibly understand. Perhaps I should summon Genesis and I should show you what a real digimon is."
As he'd swing, Viktor would look to clash and eventually lock weapons, giving him more room to taunt his raging foe;
"You can't even hit a lowly human. How to do expect to win?"
With a shift, a step, and a turn, Viktor would attempt to throw his opponent to the side, using Kotemon's weight against him! With an almost graceful like turn, he'd roll around whatever attack came next and attempt to sweep his legs from there he'd bring it back down to attempt another strike against his head, then stabbing out with his foot, looking to trap the Kotemon's short legs and make him trip in place! As the two would no doubt clash their weapons, Viktor would back off. Stopping as he heard a wet 'pop' then he smiled to is foe;
"Oh... there she is."
He would slip under whatever follow up attack would follow, be it a move or a physical swing, then look to knock him down with a powerful swing! If it landed, the Kotemon would be left dizzy for a minute or two, for sure! Enough time for Viktor to do what he intended;
"Hello, darling. How's about that date?"
Then... he blinked, and took off his shades, revealing those Icey Ghost Blue eyes. He held his head as he spoke, clearly in pain;
"Cas! L-Listen... I don't have much time. The Reaper won't stay in the back of my head... Noise. U-Use noise. High pitched. It can't know... Cas. It can't!"
He'd look to her partner and gently reach out to Cas, batting away her angry partner with the baton, "I-It... will know..." he paused to take a breath, "Something is wrong... if I don't do this."
No doubt they had questions on what, and if left uninterrupted, Viktor would answer in the way of grabbing Cas' wet suit, gripping the strap that fastened the ensemble to her and pull it with a shocking amount of strength, effectively draping it over her arms and small of her back, that is if she complied with him! He turned his head, holding her by her wetsuit;
"H-Hit... me."
And if she complied, the blue would begin to fade and he'd wink, shaking his head and returning to those devious red eyes;
"Oh? I seem to have caught my prey."
He gave a chuckle, looking now to take the next partner on, or return to fighting the other, or both!

The pair of fighters danced across the shallow pool of water as the Kotemon leans back out of the way of Viktor's jaw strike. The little rookie's golden eyes glaring back at the man...the abomination balefully. He did not waste his breath on words. Not when he admittedly needed every ounce of his skill just to keep the monster that sought his Tamer's blood busy. Dagger had always been the more powerful combatant and while it galled Cloak to admit it with out the support of his twin and Tamer the tactics and intelligence he had so prided himself upon were next to useless. He had the knowledge, but he had not the power to wield it as Viktor so aptly demonstrated as he swept the legs from beneath the little rookie forcing the Kotemon to roll across the soaked ground to avoid the head strike aimed at his face. Leaping to his feet once more only to find his legs trapped and swept from beneath him once again as his knees hit the ground. In the silence broken only by Cloak's exhausted panting the digimon vainly hoped his Tamer had made good her escape, but as the snap of bone echoed through the silence he felt his blood run cold. Watching as the monsters eyes glanced over his shoulder settling on Cas's hiding spot concealed just around the corner of a thin wall.
"No..." Cloak whispered in horror as he lurched to his feet, but the rookie was too slow as he felt the baton slam into the back of his skull making his vision go white as he fell, his sleeved palms impacting wetly with the ground leaving the digimon doubled over, stunned, and helpless as his broken sword rolled from his lax grip. Leaving him to stare with wide unseeing eyes at his own twisted reflection in the watery depths beneath his hands.
Distantly he could hear his twin as an ugly snarl ripped from the Zubamon's throat as he screamed "STAY AWAY FROM HER!" Only to be silenced as the sound of the baton impacting hard with metal and flesh rang out through the quiet room. Through it all Cloak willed his body to move. To fight. To do something rather then remain frozen where he knelt. He would give anything. Anything to protect her. To turn the useless facts and figures in his mind to strength. To trade the wit he so prided himself on sharing with his Tamer to power.
"Anything...?" His warped reflection seemed to ask the gold eyes staring back up at him bleeding red as his features shifted beneath the water.
"Anything." Cloak silently swore as the rookie's body slowly sank beneath the water as the golden edges of the egg hidden just beneath it's surface answered his desperate call encompassing the digimons body and soul to smelt it down and reforge it into something...someone new. Burning away his weakness like dross before the flame.
At the same time Dagger hit the ground with a wet thunk of flesh and metal as the stunned rookie slowly slid to the floor not feet from his injured Tamer. Leaving Cas the glance up blue eyes wide, fear sparking for the first time in their bright depths as the man she had once thought a friend turned monster stalked ever closer.
"Reaper? What? I don't understand..." She spoke her words dying in her throat as Viktor's fingers closed around the strap and zipper of her wetsuit tearing them in twain as he pulled her towards him jarring her injured leg as whatever she might of said was silenced with a pained and strangled gasp. His palms smoothing over the edged of her wetsuit peeling the damp fabric from over her shoulders and down to the small of her back leaving her upper torso bare except for the slim coverage her black swim top affords her exposing the flat expanse of her stomach and the soft swell of her breasts covered by the damp swatch of fabric as he drags her forward. Cas's palms pressing flat against his chest, her nails digging into his flesh hard enough to draw blood as she struggles in his grip like a wild thing. Fighting to the bitter end despite the lack of strength in her blows and her limbs trembling with agony.
"I don't~" She sobs out tears caught in her lashes from the pain and teeth bared in fury at the thought that hewould do this to her as she rakes her nails down his chest and snarls. Until her eyes catch his blue ones, blue on blue and for a moment she freezes and he can see that brilliant mind of hers at work even as she pants against him shaking and desperate in her anger and fear.
He had spoken so proudly not moments before when taunting her and Cloak about how he was part digimon. Not quite human. His DNA mixed with data, but data like DNA was susceptible to viruses. More importantly though was the fact it could be influenced from the outside. "You've been hacked..." Cas whispers eyes going wide as her mind connects the dots fitting the pieces of the puzzle together. "You're being controlled..." She murmurs voice a little more sure as she holds his pleading eyes as he begs her to hit him. It takes everything in her as she lashes out raking her fingernails across his face in a harsh swiping slap, but the crack that follows her palm meeting his flesh is not from the woman's strike alone.
No Viktor has a split second as Cas's digivice erupts in light before the wall behind them detonates with the force of the blow cutting it in twain as a sword embeds itself in the stone wall beside the man's head so close that if he did not move it would slice a bloody gash down his cheek as a dark figure rises from the rubble looming over him as red eyes, red as blood, red as it's sword, redder still with the deepest rage clashes with the D-reaper's crimson.
"Touching her is the last mistake you will ever make." The Baalmon swears in a dark vicious growl that promises only death as it jerks it's sword to the side cutting a ragged gash through the stone intending to take the abominations head clean from his shoulders.

Despite her nails digging into his chest, leaving trickles and streaks of blood to inch down his chest and stomach, defining every ridge and tone. Despite her hit and even despite the rather deep cut on his face. Viktor didn’t flinch. He simply looked up to see the Baalmon and cursed as the much larger, half masked face stared him down. It’s blond locks almost spilling from the purple bandana wrapped closely around its head. He only scowled at it as he held a hand up. As if commanding it
”Try as you might, Baalmon. But you cannot kill me.”
He hopped down and made sure to get some room, standing wide, ready to dodge;
”Our fight is concluded.”
He raised his hand again and almost instantly Genesis game crashing through a window, letting the water that pushed against the window, finally getting its way as it filled the room up very slightly. Maybe an inch or two, by Viktor’s estimate. This was a large office space.
Genesis stood behind Viktor, raising her jagged staff: ”I was just about to come. I was getting bored waiting.”
Viktor stepped backwards, between her legs as a strange red plaque began forming over his wounds, smoking a bit as spoke:
”Kill the Digimon. Leave the human alive.”
She snickered as she stepped closer to the Baalmon;
”Somehow, I knew you’d say that.”
Viktor only rolled his eyes as he stood nearby, eager to watch his partner engage against this newly changed foe! She didn’t waste words, almost right away she drew a symbol in the air as quickly as one would blink and launched it directly at her foe! He might be able to sustain the attack, but he’d be hard pressed to start a fight injured! Genesis would throw another and another until the entirety of the wall behind him was reduced to nothing more than debris and slag. Viktor looked over, waving to Cas and her other partner!

Taomon is fast, but Baalmon is just a smidge faster without the need to draw symbols like the fox as he slices his gleaming red blade through the air eyes burning with fury as cuts Genesis's attacks in two. The destruction parting around him as he stands stalwart before his Tamer and twin. The walls on either side of the Demon digimon are not so fortunate leading to them quickly being reduced to rubble as Baalmon determines he cannot both defend and engage. In a prolonged fight he will lose unless....
The Digimon's blood red gaze flits to Viktor who seems to only have eyes for the petite tamer sheltering behind his legs. The slow smile that curls the abomination's lips as he waves at her is enough to seal the Digimon's decision. He knows what must be done....he only hopes perhaps one day Cassandra will forgive him for doing it. In a blink of an eye his cloak of talismans and seals explodes into a cloud of paper acting as a smokescreen as the Demon digimon melts into the shadows appearing from their inky blackness behind Viktor as he thrusts his blade forward with both hands aiming to impale the monster right through the chest.
"Never Again." Baalmon hisses the rough growl of his voice like steel on stone as his sword seeks flesh to make good his promise.
Upon the floor by the destroyed remains of the far wall where she had fallen Cas's eyes grow wide with horror as she muffles a sharp intake of breath in surprise against Dagger's armored side where she has dragged the dazed digimon close. "Cloak..." She whispers tears gathering at the corner of her eyes. "Cloak what have you done?" She whispers as the Baalmon lifts his gaze to meet the blue of her eyes with his own bloody red. He'd always thought she'd look good in red.
"What I had to." He murmurs in a harsh rasp.

Genesis quite expected him to cut the attack. It was the most logical choice. She expected him to use his powers to dip into the shadows, anyone who was fighting a stronger fighter would have done the same. She would have done the same in his shoes. But what she didn’t expect was him to go after Viktor. She turned to see the blade, and widen her eyes as that primal rage kicked in. Within seconds she was spinning her staff, looking to knock away the Baalmon so she could move to her tamer!
Viktor watched the fight carefully, adjusting left and right as he watched Cloak cut clean through her attack, as they both expected to. He even sunk into the shadows, as Viktor also guessed he would.
”Genesis. He’s predictable. Watch for-“
He turned just in time to see the blade come from the darkness and slide clean into his torso. He lurched a bit and looked up, his red eyes shifting to blue as he grabbed the blade affixed firmly in him;
”Y...you idiot.”
Viktor couldn’t speak as he began to spit blood that was rapidly pouring from his mouth, and when the blade would be pulled, he’d slump to the ground, gasping for air as Genesis would attack the Baalmon so viciously, he could have sworn he was fighting something entirely different.
”N-No! Pops! Come on!”
The D-Reaper was pushed aside in her. Now it was only the Digimon herself, left to watch her tamer die in her arms. She snarled as she held him close, knowing there was a way to fix this.
She picked him up and carried him tot he darkness, then held him tight as the two shone in a blink-and-you-miss-it flash of light... then silence. The same symphony that was their friend before. But now... it would be their enemy.
From that darkness was only a light rumble, then a low growl. Looking down on the Baalmon was a pair of single focus lights. Glowing and trailing, it almost looked like the lights were part of the ceiling. It was clear Genesis was healing her partner, or had healed him. If he wanted to finish it, now was his time to strike!
But as he would go to make his move, if he even did, the very foundation of the building would begin to shake. A start from a low rumble to a violent shaking that felt as though there was an earth quake at the base of the building. Then, those low growls turned into snarls. Those snarls became a single roar. The roar was so intense it shattered every widow and cleared every pillar and support beam. The very building was starting to come down around them! Large stone slabs would crater into the floor below them and the sides would give way the sudden rushing of water that flooded the officer floor! The light exposed the figure;
It was tall and very slender, with a black and red pattern and ‘feather’ like objects that flowed in threes on both his shoulders. It would be easy to see the Fox was wearing nothing more that two strips of cloth and armor around his hips, with a sword that matched it. But probably the most defining and shocking characteristic was the Skull for a head.
No emotion, no understanding. The skull gave an idea of the creatures wanton need for destruction. It moved with a speed that would have made Taomon look like a tortoise, sliding across the ground with its blade affix firmly forward! The sheet amount of weight and momentum behind him would have easily flattened Baalmon if he wasn’t careful!
It would turn, roar again in it’s blinded rage and swipe more pillars and walls, then turned its gaze to Cas and her other Digimon. Walking over to them before pausing... for a brief second, Cas would have seen Viktor in those eyes. Something that spoke; ‘I’m sorry’
Like it took every once of his mental strength to even try that. But just as soon, the eyes would return to their glowing state, and Kajunemon would roar, bringing his sword up and looking to completely annihilate the anger and the Digimon!
They believed Viktor was a monster... Kajunemon would show them how wrong they were.

Failure was not an option. Not when it meant death or worse for his Tamer. Not when he'd been granted the power to save her and his twin no matter the cost. Baalmon did not linger over his fallen enemy. He had not the luxury of time even as the Taomon leaped to the abomination's side as he disengaged flashing across the distance to his own Tamer as he scooped Cassandra into his arms. Cradling her against his chest he ignored the silent tears that clung to her lashes and pooled at the corners of her eyes as she peered over the tall Devil Digimon's shoulder her gaze never leaving Viktor even as she watched the horror of his shifting form unfold. Snatching Dagger beneath his other arm the Baalmon launched forward narrowly escaping a strike of the monstrous fox's sword that would have cleaved his body clean in two, but instead neatly bisected part of his cloak of talismans. Leaving torn paper like broken promises fluttering in the air as Cloak drove himself forward with everything he had.
Kajunemon was admittedly faster, but the Baalmon was desperate.
"Hime~ I need you to get the portal open...I can't..." He growled out trailing off as his words turned to a pained hiss as the Baalmwan was forced to dodge to the side as a bit of the collapsing rubble connected with the shoulder opposite of his Tamer.
"It's our only chance." Cloak snarled eyes narrowed in concentration as they cleared the collapsing building into the open air as he landed deftly on a bit of stone sticking out of the water. Launching himself from his temporary perch up the side of the building across from it. While being out of close quarters meant he could use his speed to the fullest it likewise left the trio vulnerable to attacks and Cloak could not dodge, fight, and run all at once while protecting his Tamer. Their only hope was a tactical retreat.
Something even Cas in her physical and emotional agony understood as the woman grit her teeth forcing her heart to harden as her eyes met those of Kajunemon, of Viktor's once last time. She had always prided herself on never losing her patients, but the taciturn, gruff, and witty man she had grown fond of could not be saved. Not yet.
"I'm opening the portal in front of us." Cas murmured propping her arm up where the D-Terminal was strapped about her wrist as she tapped out the command. The little computer hummed as the Baalmon launched himself higher and higher up the building seeking altitude in hopes of escaping pursuit.
