We got here, now how do we get Home? [Cole/Cas]

"Well at least the likelyhood of us getting trainjacked is pretty low if digimon leave them alone." Cas mused, but was quick to lapse into silence. In her arms Cloak was lightly dozing and Dagger's snores could be heard just behind here where he'd curled up in the backpack. Just the tops of his blades could be seen poking out now quivering every so often with the sound. She'd glance up at Cole's approach, but say nothing more beyond giving him a light incline of her head acknowledging his presence.
"So...is Tsuki your...well...partner? Or do you think it was a false positive?" She finally asks breaking the silence, but keeping her voice low enough for only the two of them to hear.

Cole heard Cas's thoughts on the fact it should at least be safe, but the man clearly still had his reservations. He just disliked them...maybe he should get a motorcycle to get around on, yeah. For now another silence fell, the group traveling through the forest--finally coming to a large field, the path continuing through it. Over a few rolling hills in the distance, one could almost make out some of the small homes of the village--and the only notable building being the Trailmon Station itself. But it was still a ways away, even if within sight now.
Cole would glanced over to Cas once she asked him a question, only loud enough for them two hear...and likely the twins too if they wasn't snoring away. He didn't answer right away, eyes moving to look forwards, glancing at Tsuki up ahead leading the group. Finally he spoke, tone low to keep it between the two of them. "I don't know. I mean...she was the marker on the map, right? I doubt it was the thing chasing her, and the devic--er....Digivice did seem to react to her presence." Cole responded, seemingly unsure. Tsuki couldn't hear them, if she had she'd probably chimed in and confirmed it. Deep down she knew, but she also knew Cole didn't seem sure about everything, and didn't wanna pressure the man with the whole 'Oh yeah, I'm your partner!' thing. Especially after the night before, she still felt bad for having upset Cole so much by letting him find out about his sister.

"I mean I don't really know how this whole partner thing works." Cas murmured offering a light shrug as they walked making sure to keep her voice low so as to not wake Dagger. While she was fairly certain one or both of the twins were tied to the device she found she wasn't certain what had caused the change. Perhaps her acceptance of them?
"I had an offer from a digimon once. One of my of my earliest patients. He said he wouldn't mind being my partner, but I didn't want to take away the life he'd built for himself. Nor am I really the hero sort." She spoke shrugging lightly only to pause in the movement as she heard Dagger make a small noise of distress at the action, but not wake.
"Maybe she is yours and your hers. I don't know, but if you leave her behind here I doubt the chances of you seeing her again are very good." Cas added since it was only luck good or bad that had dropped them here. What were the chances of Cole ending up here again?

Cole heard the first part of what Cas said, but just remained silent for now. Neither of them knew how it all worked, Cole They kept on going, the man glancing over to Cas as she spoke again. This got the man thinking a little, and his eyes again averted forward to Tsuki leading them. He was about to speak up but Cas beat the man to the punch so to say.
Cole heard the last part of what she had to say, and he glanced down to the ground as they walked. "...Even if she is would she even wanna stick around me. I mean...heh--you've spent just over 2 days with me and probably can't wait for me to be out of your hair..." he said, hair falling to hide his eyes but it was clear he was being hard on himself again. He shook his head, looking up. "I just don't know...last couple days have been a bit crazy. At least I haven't had to do it alone..." he'd say, glancing back over to Cas, giving her a slight, albeit weak, smile.
It wouldn't be too much longer and they'd reach the outskirts of the village, Tsuki waving at some of the local digimon as they passed through. A number of them would come out to get a look at the two Humans, the looks beginning to make Cole feel uncomfortable.

"Won't really know unless you ask now will you?" Cas murmured unsure what else to say in the face of Cole's crippling self-confidence issues. The man had been up and down mood wise since she'd met him and while he seemed nice enough she couldn't very well dictate his life. Merely nudge him in the right direction out of her own sense of goodwill and need to be helpful. Still as they reached the outskirts of the village, the noise rousing Dagger from his sleepy with a drowzy "Wha?" It became clear their time in the Digital world would be rapidly drawing to a close.
"Finally..." Cloak rumbled out with a sigh earning a chuckle from Cas.
"What are you complaining about you haven't even had to walk." She teased causing the Caprimon to blush as he hid his face behind his tail in embarrassment.
"I'm just ready to go home." Cloak admitted the fact he thought of the Clinic as home causing a soft smile to curl it's way across Cas's lips.
"Yeah me too buddy." She murmured letting her smile turn into a bright grin at the prospect of her own food and bed.

Cole listened to her response and just gave a slight nod a moment after in reply to it, eyes averting from the blonde to glance about the village they was coming to. Yeah that walk wasn't too bad really. Tsuki went ahead and turned around, smiling back at the group she was leading. "Trailmon station is the kinda obvious building." she said, pointing to the one building that wasn't a home. Cole simply just tried to ignore the fact it was a train, and went on walking towards it. A Trailmon wasn't at the station but one would be shortly, so they didn't have much time to wait.
Tsuki lead the group over to the station, Cole went ahead and followed the BlackGabumon onto the platform, where he'd plop down on a bench and lean back into the seat, shutting his eyes as he let his head lean all the way back against the bench. Tsuki tilted her head looking at Cole. "Cole..?" "Hm?" "You okay?" "Yep, just fine." "Well you don't seem fine."...Cole leaned his head back forward and looked to Tsuki. "...I have a question for you." he said, giving a brief glance in Cas's direction before it returned back to Tsuki.
Clearly he was taking her suggestion. "You ah...wanna come back to the human world with us?" Cole asked the Digimon. Tsuki seemed shocked Cole asked, she froze a moment, before smiling and excitedly nodding. "Mhmm! I mean yeah, I have my home here...but maybe I should take a note from someone close to me and get out in the world a bit...see more things--I've never seen the human world." she replied--a sly hint to something that will come up a while later. Cole smiled faintly. "Good to hear Tsuki."

Cas would give the pair their space wandering over to take one of the slightly more distant benches to give Tsuki and Cole a chance to chat. Settling down she neatly tucked her ankles and sighed letting Dagger hop down from her pack to the bench as Cloak settled on her other side the two Digimon neatly flanking her.
"You said you wanted to help us reach the Digital world once more and get home, but now that we're here you've stopped." Cloak murmured always far too observant for Cas's liking as the Doctor sighed.
"You said yourselves you don't recognize this place. I'm not going to just dump you somewhere you're unfamiliar with." The Doctor murmured making her excuses, but they both know she was gradually becoming as reluctant to leave them as they were her.
"Of course." The Caprimon spoke his words soft as they settled into companionable silence. Neither party willing to give voice to this quiet tentative bond that hung between them.

Tsuki went ahead and sat down on the bench next to Cole, the man leaning back in the seat and trying to relax for a moment. The man used his hands as a head rest as he leaned his head back and shut his eyes, taking a breath of the fresh air. It was weird, this was the Digital World right? Sure seemed real. Tsuki looked over to Cole, tilting her head and blinking a bit.
Suddenly Tsuki's ears perked up, and her head would turn to look off into the distance. A long way off was an incoming Trailmon, moving fast. The sound of a horn would signal its approach, causing Cole's eyes to peer open. He sat back up and looked, seeing the Trailmon in the distance. "Take it our ride is here." "Mhmm."
Cole stood up from the bench, stretching a bit--he'd hoped for a bit longer of a rest but he could relax on the train--or at least try too. His eyes fell onto the Trailmon as it approached the station, a glance of displease at the thought, but quickly shoved into the back of his mind once again. A loud screech could be heard as the Trailmon came to a stop at the station, brakes making a horrid racket. Tsuki winced a bit from the sound.
Cole would step over to regroup with Cas, Tsuki following him over there, then going on past the group to jog her way up to the front of the train. "Trailmon you think you can take us to the Station in Terminus?" "Of course, just hurry up I got a schedule to keep." the Trailmon was quick with his words, and loudly blew a whistle right after. Tsuki blinked and nodded, jogging her way over to the opening doors nearest the group, motioning for them to follow as she got on and sat down at a seat.
Cole stepped towards the doors and would look over to Cas, giving her a faint smile. "Ready to go?" asked the tall man--Cole waiting to let her and the twins get on board before he'd step on. Assuming this happened--Cole went ahead and stepped on board, taking a seat not to far from Tsuki.

"More then ready." Cas murmured as she stood up offering Cole and Tsuki a small smile as she gathered up the two in-training Digimon into her arms. She knew Cole disliked trains, but hopefully the fact it was something living driving it might calm him a bit or...well it could just make the whole issue worse. Settling down on one of the benches inside the trailmon Cas was quick to tuck her ankles leaning back into the seat as Cloak and Dagger cuddled into her.
"Can we have tea when we get back home?" Dagger asked glancing up at Cas.
"Sure. I'll break out the good blend." The Doctor murmured petting the little Digimon lightly on the head her small smile slowly growing into a full true one.
"I'd like that. I'd like that a lot." The little Sakuttomon murmured as the Caprimon snuggled into Cas's side careful not to poke her with her horns.
"I think we could all do with some tea." Cloak whispered with a solemn nod as the train began to move leading them to Terminus and to home.

Cas seemed to agree she was 'more then' ready to get back home, even offering the duo of Cole and Tsuki a smile before she rounded up her own bundles of fur and knives and would move to board the Trailmon. Cole followed, having done the gentlemanly thing even if not noticed by letting the ladies board first. He would take advantage of having a space to himself, having sat away from either Cas or Tsuki, but not to far, the man would lay out on the bench and shut his eyes--resting his head in his hands as he would attempt to relax...attempt being the optimal word here, seeing as he hated trains, and the thought that this one was itself a living breathing Digimon really didn't help the matter. Was this like sitting on the insides of the Digimon???
But...either way this would eventually lead them home. Cole heard the conversation between Cas, Cloak, and Dagger, but remained silent as he tried to rest. Eventually Tsuki moved seats to sit closer to Cole, but otherwise the two remained quiet. They needed it after the time they'd had, really...all of them, Cole, Tsuki, Cas, Cloak, Dagger--the entire group deserved some rest and quiet. Tsuki appeared to be right, it took a while, but they would make it back home eventually with these Trailmon. Before parting, Cole would thank Cas for taking care of his injuries one last time and cast a wave before parting ways, him carrying Tsuki on his back as if she was a giant stuffed animal to cover him taking her to his home.
Needless to say, the man faceplanted in his bed once home.
