"Looking to make yourself stronger?" Agumon grins widely. "That's why I'm out here too! While I'm not the kind of Digimon that seeks out battles, there are goals I need more strength for. And I'm looking for someone too, though I doubt it is the same someone or even the same reasons for searching."
Falcomon 'tells' Agumaru that he'd like to say hello himself, and Agumaru sighs. "I'm sorry we cannot interact directly. I am sure there is much for us to talk about, but making Iki relay the information to me isn't fair to him..."
He glances around towards some of the quiet noises. "Saving digivolution for reasons that matter makes sense. I was hoping to see your Falcomon form, but in this case, I hope NOT to see you become Falcomon."
The ToyAgumon would have hardly have spoken before the wind began to pick up, rattling the leaves and tree branches with an eerie clatter as a gale swept through the forest. It wouldn't be long before a great shadow fell over the pair as a Digimon passed above them circling, the bright light of the sun behind them making it difficult to make out their appearance. At least until they dove red talons flashing as they aimed to snatch Agumaru right off the ground revealing themselves to be a Harpymon!
Should the Harpymon strike true grabbing up Agumaru in her talons she'd take to the air shaking the little toy digimon like a ragdoll in an attempt to divest him of any treasures. "Your bits or your life!" The Champion Digimon called out threateningly. Clearly this was a robbery though their highwayman was distinctly more on the feathered side.
Iki had definitely noticed the wind picking up as Agumaru was talking. He is now definitely on edge, as sudden wind increases weren't normal, even for the Digital World. His thoughts were confirmed when a shadow began to form under them. Then, out of nowhere, red talons took Agumaru right off the ground!
"AGUMARU!" Iki yelled as he looked up to see a Harpymon flying the ToyAgumon right up from the ground. Not only that, but it was now shaking the ToyAgumon senselessly!
"HEY! YOU! LET HIM GO!" Iki yelled harshly at the Harpymon. "Or I'm gonna come up and get you." Iki then holds out his D-Tector.
Assuming the Harpymon doesn't come down at all, Iki presses a button on his D-Tector. Suddenly, a ring of fractal code appears around his left hand, which he scanned with his D-Tector.
"Execute! Spirit Evolution!"
In Iki's place now stood a Falcomon, in a fighting position. "Ninja Blade!" Iki yells, shooting a bunch of shooting stars at the Harpymon.
The winds shift in a way that meant only one thing. Oh boy, here we go. Agumaru notices the shadow above him but is unable to see what it is, until it picks him up and carries him skyward. "See," Agumaru yells down to Iki, "This is what I'm talking about! The woods can be dangerous and you never know when a bad apple will fall from the tree-ee-eeeeeee!"
Poor Agumaru was being shaken hard like dice in a cup. The offending Harpymon then delivers an ultimatum -his money or his life. "I think I'll pass!" Clearly Agumaru isn't going to put up with this. "Toy Flame Pepper Breath!" He tilts his head upwards and releases an explosive projectile around the same time that Iki - now Falcomon - attacks. If hitting point blank, the explosion will hit the ToyAgumon as well, but if it misses, the missile would eventually lose speed, and gravity will bring it back down towards him and Harpymon. ======================= Toy Flame on cooldown - 2 turns remaining
"And what will you do about it Tamer I have your Digi....Oh shit!" The Harpymon cussed as she rose in altitude catching sight of Iki as he suddenly transformed proving her theory that he and the ToyAgumon were partners wrong. She had hoped snatching the little rookie would be enough leverage to meet her demands and leave the human relatively unprotected and helpless, but it seemed she had miscalculated.
"Fine since you asked so nicely!" She called out ruling Agumaru a waste of her time as he had yet to give up any bits or shiny goodies in her shaking. So instead the airborn Digimon released him tossing the rookie into the mid-air path of Falcomon's throwing stars as she beat her wings against the air to rise above the inevitable impact. She wasn't however, fast enough to avoid Agumaru's toy flame as it hit the Harpymon hard in the chest drawing a screech of pain and displeasure from the Digimon before she banked hard to the right. Hoping to throw off any future attacks while she recovered from briefly having the wind knocked out of her.
"Yeah, that's right. I'm a Spirit User. Funny how miscalculations can bite you in the ass, huh?" Iki asked after seeing Harpymon's reaction to his transformation. Unfortunately, she had thrown Agumaru right into the line of fire of his Ninja Blades. Fortunately, Agumaru's "Pepper Breath" had managed to knock the wind out of Harpymon. After running over to see if the ToyAgumon was in any form alright, he turned right towards Harpymon, an angry glare presents in his eyes.
"Antagonizing a bunch of strangers for a bit of cash, huh?" Iki asked as he approached the Harpymon in his Falcomon form. "How truly pathetic." At this point, Iki then started running towards Harpymon.
"SCRATCH SMASH!" Iki then leaped towards the Harpymon and slashed her with the claws on his newfound wings.
Agumaru is quickly freed from the Harpymon's grasp! However, he doesn't get away scratch-free. He takes a couple hits of friendly fire from Falcomon's Ninja Blades, then hits the cold hard unforgiving ground. He groans, turning the sound into a growl as he slowly, shakily, but surely stands up. "Sorry Iki, didn't mean to block your attack." He shakes his head and enters a battle stance. However, he then realizes he has run into a bit of a logistical problem.
Harpymon is way up there... and he's way down here... with no projectile attacks. There is no way he can attack successfully with his current methods, by himself. He turns towards the Falcomon Iki, glancing between him and the attempted mugger. "Looks like I'm going to have trouble with this fight if you can't bring Harpymon down or me up to meet her somehow. Maybe I'll take a few seconds to recharge and recover..."
Agumaru sighs, frustrated. He doesn't like feeling useless! He'll just have to wait and hope Iki can find a way for him to help. =========================================== Toy Flame on cooldown - 1 turn remaining
"Yeah funny that." The Harpymon growled out narrowing it's brilliant blue eyes as it looped through the air. Some of it's grace returning as it got it's breath back and began to climb into the sky once more seeking the safety of altitude. It seemed though that the ToyAgumon was temporarily out of the fight, but the Spirit user still persisted.
"We've all got to make a living somehow." She jested with a fanged smile half snarl half grin as the Falcomon launched himself at her. His claws raking her legs as she fumbled to stay in the air. Rearing back the Harpymon took a breath. "Silent Symphony!" She yelled out letting out an deafening screech at the Falcomon fit to rip up the earth, damage the little digimon, and hopefully send him flying back and further away from her. If Toy Agumon wasn't careful he might very well get caught up in the blast.
"Thieving and relying on the fear of others is not the way to 'make a living'," Iki growled after hearing the Harpymon's comment. How could someone, Digimon or not, go so low by relying on stealing other people's things?!
That's the kind of thing that Iki cannot tolerate from anyone.
Suddenly, Iki sees Harpymon leaning back, preparing an attack. Before he could have a chance to react, she lets out a deafening scream, and Iki was now experiencing the true power of sound. As he tried to keep his feet planted to the ground, he eventually realizes it was futile as he is lifted up from the ground and slammed into a tree.
"Argh... that hurt..." Iki groans. He then gets an idea. "Alright, fine, I give, I give... come over here, I'll get your bits..."
If the Harpymon was stupid enough to fall for Iki's trap, as soon as Harpymon comes close, he would fire a Shadow Screen to confuse the Harpymon, giving Iki and ToyAgumon an opportunity to gang up on the champion level thief.
If Harpymon doesn't fall for that trap, however, then Iki would launch a Wing Blade right at her.
"Stealing to make a living," Agumaru chastises, "is terrible! Why would you do that? A Digimon like you could do pretty much anything they could want! Why waste your gifts on being a criminal?"
Harpymon's attack rends the ground asunder with merely her voice! This was troublesome. A Digimon that can attack from land and air is a hassle to fight. Agumaru barely dodges out of the way of the blast, not risking tanking the hit after the damage he's already taken. "W-whoa!" What would be their next move?
Surrendering, it seems. This was quite surprising to the colorful Agumon. He looks at Iki quizzically, then shrugs. He does not lower his guard, however. "If you try anything funny," he warns the Harpymon, "anything besides taking the bits peacefully... and I won't be happy." If Harpymon tries to attack physically, he'll pummel her with a whirlwind of punches. Actually, if Falcomon's plan succeeds and he attacks first, Agumaru will realize what he's up to and pummel the Harpymon anyways, but he won't feel good about it. Agumaru and Iki would have words later. ================================= Million Punch on standby - if used, 1-turn cooldown Toy Flame on cooldown - 1 turn remaining
The Harpymon would circle the clearing once more before alighting lightly on a branch across from the duo. Tilting her head the avian digimon eyed the pair curiously narrowing her gaze at their combined implications and insults. "Not everyone is lucky enough to have wings to carry them to lush forests and beyond to hunt for food and find bits. Some of us have those who depend on them." The Harpymon spat out anger as clear as crystal in her words as she shifted from taloned foot to taloned foot eyeing the Falcomon skeptically. It was clear she didn't buy his 'defeat' so easily.
"How about you leave the bits in the clearing and go. I do believe that works best for everyone invol~" The Avian Digimon spoke, but she wouldn't get the chance to finish her suggestion as the Falcomon launched a wing blade at her. The attack catching the Harpymon by surprise as she let out a harsh strangled scream of pain as the strike sheered into her shoulder and wing in a spray of data. Sending her tumbling from her perch to impact the ground below in a disarray of feathers as she struggled to sit up without using her injured arm. Barely managing to lift herself up as the ToyAgumon charged at her. Now grounded and far more desperate the Harpymon let out a deafening shriek once more. "Silent Symphony!" She screamed the attack ripping it's way through the air towards Agumaru.
Agumaru looks stunned for a moment, then quickly grows more angry. "Those that depend on others," he growls, "And where are they right now? Alone? Unprotected? Not knowing whether or not you'll come home because you might have tried to steal from the wrong Digimon? Possibly losing you forever because the Digimon you tried to mug loads you instead? Leave the woods and take those depending on you somewhere safe, where you can use your skills to make a safe, honest living!"
Agumaru takes Iki's attack as a signal to charge, arms windmilling menacingly. Unfortunately, this attack was countered by a powerful blast from the injured Harpymon, blasting him away. Data crackling, injuries beyond simple bandages' repair, Agumaru still stands back up. "I'm... sorry we have to fight... I really am... after this just... take my advice and make a new clean life..." He continues to walk forward... then explodes.
In the middle of the swirling storm of exploded data lies the Digimental of Determination, which then floats above it. The data reforms into a blue humanoid platypus, the Digitama breaking apart and turning into armor plates on the platypus Digimon's tail, head, beak, shoulders and hips.
"Platymon, the Determined Duckmole, might have to make you see the errors of your ways, unfortunately. Rapid Kick!" He thrusts his right foot out in a series of mach-speed kicks, trying to strike Harpymon as many times as possible. =============================== Agumaru Armor Digivolved to Platymon Rapid Kick - 1 turn cooldown
Iki smirked when he saw that his attack hit the Harpymon perfectly. "Heh, didn't expect you to really fall for that anyways," he says. He then hears what Harpymon had to say about her own life choices.
"Is that really what you think? The way I see it, you choose what you get to be. And you obviously chose to be a thief. It isn't about luck at all."
Suddenly, though, Harpymon let out another Silent Symphony, right towards Agumaru, who got the full force of that attack before Iki could do anything to save him. He looked really banged up... really bad. "Agumaru..."
That's when Agumaru lets the bomb explode, and now instead of a ToyAgumon, was a... strange Digimon that Iki had NEVER seen before.
"Safe?!" The Harpymon spat out in a fanged hiss her voice hoarse from her screams. "This is the digital world. No place is safe unless you have the strength to make it so." She snarled, but lifted her uninjured wing in a futile effort to shield herself from both the light and subsequent attack that came with it. The first kick landing hard enough to send the digimon skidding across the ground with a strangled cry on pain.
In a flash of movement though Agumaru now a Platymon would find his next kick caught by a white gloved hand. The attack impacting hard enough to leave a bit of smoke rising from the point of contact where the new mon to enter the scene had blocked the strike placing himself neatly between the two and the downed Harpymon. As the dust settled, his coat fluttering lightly in the breeze caused by Agumaru's attack the newly arrived Astamon grinned. The gesture sharp, feral, and far from friendly.
"Where are they yea ask?" The Astamon drawled out lazily repeating Agumaru's unanswered question as though he had all the time in the world. Should the Platymon not leap back the Ultimate would toss him aside by his foot with a flick of his wrist. "Well one of em is right here and he's hearin an awful lotta bullshitting chatter for a couple ah mons teaming up two against one on a lady." The Astamon growled out his lips pulling back in a fanged snarl as he levels his machine gun on the Falcomon as a warning, but does not yet fire. It's clear he's not looking for a fight, but will attack if pressed. Glancing over his shoulder he eyes the downed Harpymon where she lays her form fuzzy and glitching slightly as the wound to her left shoulder and arm sluggishly bleeds data.
"F&@#... you ok Birdie?" The Astamon asks his gruff voice softening slightly in concern at her state as the Harpymon struggles to sit up wincing in pain as her entire left wing goes fuzzy for a moment before it settles.
"I'm still...I'm still breathing Aster." She pants out, but the winged digimon is clearly more then a little worse for wear. Turning his full attention back to the Platymon and Falcomon the Astamon bites back a low growl.
"Drop ta form Birdie yea can't sustain it. You're just hurtin yeaself more." The Astamon, Aster, orders never taking his eyes off the other two mons even as he hears the Harpymon sigh in resignation.
"Sides...we won't be havin anymore trouble ta-day will we boys?" He threatens as much as asks as he tilts his head and eyes up Agumaru and Iki with a piercing gaze.
Iki was definitely prepared for more fighting, when a newcomer suddenly pushed away Agumaru's kick. And that is when Iki's eyes lay upon the newcomer... Astramon. Accusing us of ganging up on HER?!
"If I may correct you, but Harpymon was the one who tried to get the jump on us," Iki tries correcting Aster as nicely as he could. The last thing they needed was more conflict. "She tried shaking my... ally here for all of the bits he owned. If she'll agree to leave us - and other Digimon - alone, then we'll back down as well. I am no wild Digimon; I know how to be civil."
Iki assumed that it was for the best that Astramon showed up when he did. If not, then this conflict would have continued until one of them eventually died...
