Unlikely Allies (Agumaru)

It seems Agumaru's words won't reach Harpymon, but he keeps trying. "Anywhere in civilization, making a decent living, is safer than trying to steal from those entering what they already know is a dangerous area so are likely able to defend themselves, or where feral digimon might end up being your target, and then you theirs."
The battle appeared over, but clearly it was not as reinforcements have arrived in the form of Astamon. "Bullshitting chatter? Two against one? Harpymon picked me up and tried to rob us by threatening my life, and somehow I'm the bad guy?" Agumaru was frustrated, but he did not look eager for more combat. "I never even WANTED a fight... I just wanted her to...to... oh."
Agumaru realizes just how much damage he has done to Harpymon and winces. "I... I'm sorry. I just wanted you to stop stealing. I wanted you to use your skills for good, not terrorizing any innocent travelers or possible beasts... I didn't realize how strong my new form is...." The once raging Platymon is now teary-eyed.
"Just... just let us go on our way," Agumaru pleads, "We won't bother you any more. Please... take care of Harpymon, I didn't think that we'd even be able to hurt her, just stop her from attacking and get her to realize if we were actual threats that... I-I'm sorry." This was not the fear of a Digimon being threatened by a stronger one. This was true remorse for what was self-defense but swung the other way without him realizing it. "Please stop this senseless violent way of trying to gain bits and food, there's better ways... ways that don't involve attacks from Digimon that don't know their own strength..."

"Yeah yea two are assuming I give two shits about her stealin." The Astamon muttered rolling his eyes at the prototypical 'stealing is bad' and 'do more with your life' speeches that so often came with those he felt viewed the world as black and white. Rather then the mon eat mon world he'd learned it to actually be.
"Specially givin I'm da one that taught her." The Ultimate adds with a soft huffing laugh only lowering the barrel of his machine gun when he hears the rustle of feathers as the Harpymon finally gives up her struggle to rise and hits the ground on her side with a pained whimper. Her form changing in a flash of light as the scent of blood fills the air hot and warm where it's spreading staining the shirt and ragged duster of the petite pink haired little girl barely in her teens that now lays half curled in agony on the forest floor where Harpymon once was. Carefully the Astamon half turns, being certain to keep an eye out for any movement from the Falcomon and Platymon as he backs up to crouch down at the girl's side. Setting his gun down in easy reach he shrugs off his white coat and gently wraps her in it as he scoops her up cradling her in one arm as he grabs his weapon once more.
"Gentlemen..." He murmurs nodding to both Agumaru and Iki in turn. "I'd say t'is been a pleasure, but then that'd make me a liar and a thief." The Astamon says as he shoulders his gun spreading his black bat like wings.
"I'll be takin my Birdie now. I'd suggest yea not try to follow." He adds before taking off with one great powerful beat of his wings leaving a cloud of dust in his wake as he departs.

"YOU'RE the one who taught her that?" Agumaru was fighting back his tears as his emotions churns his gut. "Then why the heck did you not expect something like this to happen? What if he was my partner and instead of giving bits, evolved me into WarGreymon and destroyed her in one hit?"
A Digimon that could turn into a human? No... it must be the other way around, another Spirit User. Meeting two in the same day, let alone at the same time, was a strange coincidence, but he's more concerned about human fragility. "Will... will she be okay? Please let her be okay! How could you put her in such danger? I thought... I thought I was fighting a Champion level Digimon, not a human..."
He turns away, wiping his eyes before closing them. "Don't worry... I won't follow. I... wish you'd take her to a doctor but... I doubt it."

"Forget about them," Iki tells Agumaru after the two thieves had left. "It isn't your place to worry about them. They obviously chose their path, and they have walked that path too long to be convinced now. You should probably turn back to... Agumon now."
If Agumaru listened, as soon as he'd devolve back into his rookie form, Iki would remain in his Falcomon form. "Unfortunately, I do not know how to turn back into a human, besides just waiting for this to wear off. Until then, I have to look like a bird brain for the time being."
Iki looked down the path opposite from where the two thieves headed. He felt something powerful... "I can sense Angemon's spirit, coming from that direction. It's very faint, but I can still sense it. If you want, you can help me search for it, Agumaru."

"Hm... you're right...," Agumaru tries to convince himself. It wasn't quite working, but there really wasn't anything he could do, after all. Astamon clearly wouldn't let him get close to them again. They were very unlikely to meet on friendly terms any time soon, if ever. Still...
The Platymon reverts back to an average ordinary everyday totally real Agumon. "That was probably about to run out on his own," Agumaru admits, "takes a bit of energy and my determination was a bit... wobbly from the ordeal." In fact, his confidence was shaken enough by the revelation of his opponent that he couldn't stay in that form much longer anyways.
"Sure, I could help you search!" Adventure! Yeah! Just what the doctor ordered to get his mind off things. "So... this will help you become Angemon when we find it?"

Gah, what am I even doing? I'm inviting a hyped-up sugar addicted ToyAgumon to help me find something that will help me get revenge for my family! Still, I'd have better luck with help searching for it...
"Yes, in theory, once I find it I'll be able to take on the form of Angemon," Iki tells Agumaru. "But I must warn you, that this is not a game. My life depends on finding this Spirit, and all my other Spirits on top of that. If you're not up for a life or death task, then you should probably go now. If you are, however, then follow me. We're gonna make a quick stop at a village first for food and supplies. My grandmother always warns us to not travel or do anything taxing on an empty stomach, which mine definitely is after the fight... and I assume yours is, as well."

"Life or death?" While he may be a toy (don't tell him that though) Agumaru wasn't playing around. "I understand life or death situations. I helped take on a rampaging Rhinomon. I fought Gesomon, the white demon of the sea. I never said this was a game, and I'm not completely useless." Perhaps Iki struck a chord.
He was soon back to his old, happy self, however. "Good idea, Digimon march on their stomachs, after all. Well... not literally, that was an expression." He then blushes and turns away, in an embarrassed stance. "Not that I thought you...didn't know that or anything... I just... worry that I have problems communicating sometimes. But I do know how to adventure, search, and fight, so I'll definitely be able to help you out here!" He turns back and offers a prong hand. "Here's to our teamwork, and to finding everything we search for!"

"No need to become embarrassed, Agumaru..." Iki reassured Agumaru as he became embarrassed. "I was just making sure you truly were up for this. I don't want any lives to be lost because of me, whether they be... Digimon, or human."
He turned around to see Agumaru offering his arm to him for a handshake, a big stupid grin on the ToyAgumon's face. Iki thought about it for a little bit... this Digimon seemed like the nicest, most energetic one that he had come across. Probably good bait, if needed. Iki eventually gives in and shakes Agumaru's prong arm with his wing. "Yes... hopefully I can find what I am looking for one day."
[Okay, end thread for real.]
