The Tyrants labyrinth was a mass of snarled vines, thorns, and complex paths. A Maze to end all mazes that would often times end all who ventured into the maze. Yet for those with wings it was perhaps a little less treacherous. The danger of the twisting complex labyrinthine walkways lending as much protection as it did threat to those that knew the area well. For them within it's depths were small pockets of sanctuary. One of which was a deep ancient stone lined bathing pool filled by an ancient hotspring. It's submerged benches long abandoned by their owner and the once resplendent mosaics cracked and worn. The strange lumious wisteria like blossom bearing vines that had twined up the pillars of the stone pagoda shielding the pool having grown wild trailing their vines and blossoms across the roof and up to the edge of the bath leaving the area illuminated in soft purple light even as the sun sank low over the horizon. The bathes were not completely without occupants however. The sound of soft voices echoed in the still air along with the chirps of various bugs and night dwelling creatures. One voice though rose like a bird on the wing in song. The acoustics of the pool lending the gentle song an eerie sound. "Shadows all around you as you surface from the dark...Emerging from the gentle grip of nights unfolding arms..."

The Server Woods was a cakewalk compared to this practical death-trap jungle! Agumaru had to push and tear vines and branches away in order to move, brambles and thorns scratched at his plastic body, and the whole place was a giant maze! Perhaps training here wasn't the best idea, as not much could be done. At least it was a workout in and of itself to navigate.
Of course, there was another reason he was here that he would not admit to himself. Behind his cheerfully determined attitude, a spot in his mind was berating him for what he had done to that Spirit Wielder girl. Was she okay? Was she recovering? Or was she...? Even his more subconscious thoughts refused to think about that possibility. Still, it was preventing him from leaving the Eastern Timberlands until those nagging thoughts in the back of his head were addressed.
A haunting melody draws him further in. Where was that singing coming from? He had to find out! Perhaps he had found a famous singer practicing in private, away from the prying eyes of her adoring public. Or maybe it was a dark enchantress, and he was somehow resisting her spell - though it was pulling him in and guiding him, so maybe he didn't. Or maybe...
He would now find out as he spreads branches hiding the hot spring sanctuary.

"Darkness, Darkness everywhere, do you feel alone? The subtle grace of gravity, the heavy weight of stone." The voice sang out in a soft soprano the words seeming to carry in the quiet hush of the night. The branches parting to reveal the slim figure of a familiar young girl mostly obscured up to her collarbone in the steaming water with only her shoulder and arm carefully propped up upon the dry stone. A puckered angry red scar crisscrossed her skin there, a healing if ugly souvenir of her encounter with Agumaru and Iki. The singing came from the girl herself where she sat on a submerged stone bench leaning carefully back against the pool wall, but her voice was not the only one.
Perched carefully behind her, his still bloodstained white coat tossed to the side was the Astamon. Humming softly along he sat in his pinstripe suit gun set aside having gathered the girl's damp long pink locks in his white gloved hands and was carefully plaiting them into a neat braid. The vicious virus type ultimate's face surprisingly soft as he listened to 'Birdie' sing, his lips quirked into a shadow of a smile. The girl herself could be seen clearly now without the careful covering of her own jackets or the smears of dirt, blood, and dust revealing a surprisingly delicate doll like face with fine boning and large expressive blue eyes that where at the moment half-lidded in happiness as she picked out the various strange constellations depicted in small mosaic tiles upon the roof of the pagoda.

Agumaru can't believe it! It was... her! The girl he had fought was now right in front of him once again! And she seems... happy. She seems healthy as well. She was quite the singer, perhaps one day she could leave the dangerous thieving business and become an idol.
And Astamon... he seemed like a shady character when he first met him, though he also seemed reasonable for a thief. Now, however, he seems... almost sweet. The Harpymon human wasn't just someone Astamon felt indebted to her or some selfish reason to protect her. She seemed... almost like his adopted daughter. Perhaps everything would be all right.
Some of Agumaru's guilt began to evaporate, until he saw her massive scar. He inhales sharply at the sight, cringing sympathetically. He had done that. How bad was the injury? It makes him sick to his stomach to think of the pain he had caused her. And... he looked at her soft, innocent face... was she really that young? How could she already have such a rough life? But... like he noticed before, she seems happy.

"You don't see what you possess, a beauty calm and clear." The girl sang letting her eyes rove down from the ceiling as she shifted absentmindedly trailing her gaze over her surroundings. "It floods the sky and blurs the darkness like a~" She trailed off the music dying on her lips as she spies Agumaru's bright red bricks through the bare covering of the foliage and flinches back in surprise.
"What the~" The Astamon growls out his once soft countenance hardening in an instant as he lurches to his feet gun in hand, but his footing is far from sure. As his foot slips on the slick stone, the ultimate spreads his wings in a failed attempt to balance himself. His arms cartwheeling as he manages to toss his gun aside to safety, as he goes careening sideways into the deeper part of the steaming pool with a large KA-SPOOSH!
"Oh sh~ Aster!" The girl screams out as the Astamon flails trying to keep his head above the water to little success as it becomes clear the digimon doesn't actually know how to swim.

Well, looks like he was caught spying on them. This was not his intent - neither the "getting caught" part OR the "spying" part. He hopes he didn't scare or embarrass them too much - though he worries more for his own safety as Astamon prepares for battle. This was not good. He prepares to do... something, anything, but he is frozen in place - until Astamon falls in the water.
Self-preservation goes out the window immediately as he notices Astamon cannot swim. Despite the danger, he runs towards the water and-
<<ARMOR DIGIVOLUTION>>
Becomes "Platymon, the Determined Duckmole!" He rushes towards the water. "Don't worry Harpym- I mean whatever your name is! I got him!" He swan-dives into the water, swimming rapidly towards Astamon. "Grab on! I'm not here to fight!"

The girl likewise dives heedless of her still tender arm in the face of her friends distress as she comes up under the Astamon's left arm even as the ultimate grabs ahold of the Platymon with his right. The two of them able to keep his head above water between the two of them as Wren grimaces in pain, but treads water for all she's worth trying to guide Aster over into the shallow end where he can stand. It doesn't take long for the Ultimate's feet to touch stone as he makes for the wall of the pool and claws his way back up and out of it rolling onto his side and back spitting out water as he lays in an inelegant sopping wet heap of hair, fur, and clothes. His demonic like wings limp with water as he takes a moment to gasp in breath as the girl paddles over to him being careful to keep low enough in the water to keep her own modesty as she moves to check on the Astamon.
"You all right Aster?" She murmurs reaching out to nudge him lightly with her good arm. The scar on her bad one has cracked a few places and has begun sluggishly leaking blood making her wince. Leveraging himself up the Astamon levels one soaking wet gloved finger at the Platymon and scowls.
"This. Never. Happened." He growls out earning a relieve laugh from Wren.
"Yeah you're all right." She mutters before lifting her good hand to her bleeding left arm drawing Asters attention as he takes in a sharp hissing breath in concern.
"Shit Birdie. I'll get the kit." He exclaims stripping off his sopping wet gloves as he glances at the Platymon before getting up and heading for where his jacket still lays.

Together with Wren's help, Agumaru manages to save Astamon, but at the cost of opening up one of the girl's wounds. At first, he doesn't notice, just happy to have helped Astamon. Or did he? Apparently he didn't help him, since this "never happened" according to the Demon Man Digimon. "Won't speak a word," he promises. "Just glad that OH NO ACK!"
He finally notices the blood, causing him to slightly panic. "That's not supposed to - I don't think that - I don't know first aid! Astamon she's bleeding!" His Digicore hurts from the guilt, causing him to revert back to ToyAgumon. This was not good.

"It's fine. It's fine don't panic. Jesmon above how the heck did you and your lackey manage to get a lucky shot on her if this is how you always react to a little damage?" The Astamon mutters fishing a small square plastic box with a red cross emblazoned on it's front from one of his jacket pockets. Motioning for Wren to come closer the girl swims back to her seat from before propping her arm back up onto the ledge as the Astamon crouches down and begins fishing out some wipes, disinfectant, gauze pads, and bandages before setting about his work.
"We'll need to do this the old fashioned way. Don't think it's safe for you to be using another data stick on yourself so soon after the last one." Aster mutters glancing between the wound and the panicking digimon in mild amusement.
"Uh...do you need help?" The girl asks Agumaru softly dipping as low into the water as she can in embarrassment without moving her arm. Wren always hated being caught outside of her digital form, but with her injury...

Agumaru tries not to panic, and has mixed results. "S-sorry... it is just that she's human... and.... humans don't get all the chances we Digimon get. Armor, healing, and at the worst reincarnation... humans don't get those for some strange reason, I hear. I can go all out against other Digimon because I know they can go all out against me."
He watches the Astamon work, in case he has to help an injured human himself, or if he has bad luck and can't heal an injury. It was quite amazing how much maintenance humans needed. Luckily the girl had her Spirit form to absorb some of the attacks' damage she might suffer through the Digital World.
Wren asks Agumaru if SHE could help HIM? This shocks him for many reasons. She was the injured one and he was the one that caused them. If she was embarrassed, Agumaru didn't notice. "I... I was just out here training when I heard beautiful singing and wondered where it came from. I didn't mean to bother you. Again. Er... sorry. I'm surprised that a place like this is out here in such a hostile environment though. It is quite the patch of Avalon Fields in the Dark Area, if you know what I mean."

"It's not~" Astamon snapped out only to falter. "It's not the Avalon fields." He finally grumbled out watching as Wren all put tried to sink up to her nose in embarrassment at Agumaru's words. Sighing the Demon man digimon gave her shoulder a light touch the sheer discomfort he could feel rolling off her bothering even him. The girl too stunned to speak.
"I think she more of meant to ask if you needed rescue out of the water, but I guess plastic floats." The Astamon drawled out with a sigh before getting up to amble over to where Wren's things were hung up to dry to fish her digivice from the bag and hand it to her.
"Here. Your clothes are still drying and you're gonna drown yourself at this rate. Just don't strain your wing." He coaxed as Wren muttered out a soft watery thank you before becoming enveloped in light. In a flash the Harpymon from before was there as she carefully scrambled up and out of the water. Standing on dainty taloned feet she shook out her feathers being careful not to hurt her left wing as she showered the Astamon with droplets.
"Hey watch it! I didn't bring a spare!" Aster exclaimed grumbling as he flicked the water off of himself and went to collect his sopping wet gloves.
"We can probably make a fire to dry everything out faster. Sides I've got a blanket you can wrap up in while your suit dries." The Harpymon offers before turning to glance back at the ToyAgumon.
"Err thanks for helping me rescue Aster. I'm Wren or Birdie as Aster calls me. Sorry for trying to rob you earlier, but I really did think it'd be a quick bloodless one and done." She explains as she introduces herself and the Astamon beside her.

Whoops. Maybe mentioning the Avalon Fields around Astamon wasn't such a good idea. "It was... just an expression, sorry." Agumaru manages to scramble to shore. The comment of plastic floating confuses him, but if it was an insult, it was better to let it slide as the situation was already tense enough as it is.
The human's transformation into Harpymon catches Agumaru off guard, but he quickly recovers. "Glad to see you recovering," he cheerfully exclaims. As for making a fire... "I'm pretty good at making fires if you need any help! After all, that's an Agumon's speciality!"
"Nice to meet you more officially and less fighty, Wren!" The dino digi gives them a big grin before continuing. "My name's Agumaru! And don't worry about the robbing thing, the past is the past. I still think it is dangerous but since I doubt I'd change your mind, I'm not gonna try. I can't begin to understand, having lived a much different life than you two, I'm sure."

"It's a little hard ta find decent work when most places take one look at yea mug and kick yea to ta curb." Aster grumbled, but Wren laid her unhurt wing gently on his arm before guiding him over to a wall of vines that was serving as both their drying line and changing curtain.
"It's fine Aster. Here I'll grab the blanket." Wren murmurs padding over to her bag as she digs through it for a moment before pulling out a large blanket one one talon and handing it over to the Astamon as he reaches over the vines for it.
"It's nice to meet you as well Agumaru and if you can help us with a fire sure. Um...not to be rude, but you can make real flame right?" She asks eyeing the toy digimon skeptically even as she hops about gathering up stray bits of wood and dead vines for said fire. She doubted plastic flame would be very effective at drying anything, but she was willing to give the toy digimon a shot before resorting to a lighter. Despite being a Harpymon Wren is unusually deft with her talons grabbing a bit of wood here and there and bringing it hopping about a bit like a bird, but careful not to stress her injured wing.

"Ugh..." Agumaru shakes his head. "Biases are terrible. Aren't Digimon Digimon? Types should not matter as much as they do. Everyone should just accept that Vaccine, Virus, Data are all just different configurations of the same basic code."
Can an Agumon make a real flame? That's an odd question. Although... "Hm. Perhaps you are onto something. My flames are a bit more explode-y than 'real' flames I suppose. I mean it is still fire, but it is more solid. So..." He gathers up vines and ties the wood together. He then looks for some rocks, and anchors the wood to them. "There we go, stand back! Toy Flame Pepper Breath!" A plastic missile lands right in front of the wood and explodes, catching the wood on fire. It would have sent it all flying if not for tying it down. "There ya go!"

"Explodey?" Wren mutters before quickly shielding her face with her good wing as Agumaru used his attack. Only pausing to peak through her feathers once she was certain she wouldn't be blasted with wooden shrapnel or embers. Seeing the wood now crackling merrily though and certainly on fire she hesitantly drops her wing before hopping over.
"Sadly not everyone sees the world that way and well...I won't go anywhere Aster can't go." Wren declares softly, this is clearly an old declaration as he hears Aster groan in annoyance before he tosses his suit over the vines to dry and circles back around now wrapped in the blanket.
"Birdie I keep tellin yea yea'd have better prospects elsewhere." The Astamon grumbles even as he settles down next to the fire, but Wren sets her jaw stubbornly and shifts over to tuck herself against his side earning a sigh from the Demon man Digimon.
"Not gonna go." She mutters defiantly even as she reaches out with one careful talon to poke one of the pieces of wood jutting out from the fire back into it a bit more. "Sides it's not like all Digimon look upon Spirit users kindly." Wren adds with a light shrug.
