Fairies and Hats and Cake, Oh My! (Hiroyo)

Hiroyo's face twisted in horror at the description offered. "They might not have meant it to be mean, but what kind of person thinks clovers are good in shakes? I know workout fanatics will put whey in their shakes but that's pretty different!"

"You should! I bet if you were cheerleading for them you would definitely get Lilimon's attention." Roger started cackling only to break it off into a cough. "Did we hit a bump in the road, Hiroyo? You kinda shouldered me in the throat." He asked while attempting to tighten his grip on her shoulders. Sadly his feet really didn't work that way so Hiroyo continued on, completely unpunished!

Unless you counted his continued presence.

Hiroyo opened her mouth to say something when the Muchomon spun around, a wide grin on her face as if she was welcoming the oncoming argument. And maybe she had been, but there was a fairy that intervened on her behalf and letting Tink's efforts go to waste would be a real tragedy. Hiroyo schooled her expression into something the Muchomon would consider appropriately apologetic, ignoring Roger's pointed nudges while she did so. "I'm sorry! I was just so eager to get a table I didn't think about the people around me!" She bit her lower lip and did her absolute best to look contrite.

The Muchomon crossed her arms over her chest and huffed. She looked like she was trying to keep her anger flowing but she was quickly losing steam in face of the adorable Tink! "WELL! I guess I can understand. You still can't go in front of us! But what are we going to do about a table?"

"Hmm, sitting with people I don't know is kinda..." The Muchomon mumbled thoughtfully, one wing curled under her beak as she thought about the offer carefully. At least offering a solution had done much to ease her anger. Her friends gave each other a look that clearly said they really weren't thrilled with the idea.

"Look, that table over there with the umbrella up is emptying!" One of her friends said as he grabbed her by the shoulder and pointed at another of the 'small' tables that a group was leaving. "We won't have to mess around with the umbrella this way, I'll go save it now!"

"NEXT!" The Calcumon at the counter called as the Ebidramon finally made his way out of the area, a relatively small plastic bag with boxy contents hanging off one of his giant claws. The Muchomon's friends quickly started towards the window, the one who had spoken earlier rushing up to give his order and pay his part of the bill before waddling away to claim the previously pointed out table. The Muchomon huffed then hurried to join her other friend at the window, throwing a last comment over her shoulder.

"Don't think this means you're in the clear! You should still feel bad about what you did!"

Hiroyo sighed in relief and wiped the back of her hand across her forehead. "Well, I'm glad we got off easy." She said as she began walking towards the window.

"Maaaan, I was kinda hoping it'd devolve into a br-uh, well deserved scolding!" Roger said, correcting himself immediately when he remembered Tink was there. "You' really are to blame for causing the mess."

"Yeah, but Tink got us out of it!" The human cheerfully replied with a smile for Tink. "I know I was already going to pay for your cake, but don't worry about cost and go all out alright? You really got us through that hassle smoothly!"

"It'd be a real bummer if we got kicked out 'cause of a fight." Roger chimed in but he didn't sound like he believed his own words at all. He also sounded rather distracted to boot, he was probably thinking hard about his wish. There were so many options!

Hiroyo grinned as Tinker listed off a bunch of cakes, nodding with flavor that was named. "Of course! It's got cake in the name, right? It has to count if it has cake in the name! I was thinking of getting a cupcake sampler platter that would have a bunch of flavors, including the ones you listed. Does that sound good to you? If you can't eat a whole cupcake we can always cut them down to size!" The human was startin to wonder just how much Tinker could actually eat. She was so tiny, maybe not even a whole one?

The Muchomon in front of them seemed to be taking their time picking out  what they wanted. One of them, the one that had been giving them problems before, just couldn't seem to make up her mind. Standing in the sun was starting to get warm as well.

"I'm not a huge cake fan like Hiroyo here but I've enjoyed just about every kind I've tried so far." Roger said as he shifted around on Hiroyo's shoulders. The human turned her head towards him as far as she could with a suspicious look on her face. The Kunemon's beak opened slightly in a grin. "Since she's giant and has more places to put the cake once she's eaten it."

"You better not be implying what I think you're implying."

"I mean, you keep a regular workout schedule right? So that's definitely muscle I'm feeling." He said in a way that implied that wasn't the case. Hiroyo rolled her eyes and turned her attention solely to Tink.

"You're welcome! I love sampler platters for that reason, but it's way too much to eat when it's just me!" She grinned and waved her hand towards Roger and in the vague direction of where Morgan was perched on their table in the sun. "Eating with others is great for so many reasons!"

The human broke off her comments when Tink went to talk to the customers ahead of them, a smile creeping onto her face. The little fairy seemed to be a very helpful soul!

The Muchomon huffed loudly as she turned back to face the Tinkermon with her beak open as if to argue. "You know that just sounds like the best idea since I couldn't make my mind up!" Her friend quickly cut in, her voice bearing a slightly southern accent. The second Muchomon turned to the counter and ordered that immediately while the first one huff.

"Well! Thanks for your help!" 'I guess.' was left unvocalized but somehow still stated. Luckily it was only a couple minutes before the Muchomon were able to get their food, pay, and be on their way to join their third friend.

"Alright, step up here and get yer sweet treats!" The Calcumon called to the three. Hiroyo would step up almost immediately, grinning with the memory that the adorable fairy who had been sitting on her hat thought that the human wasn't fat at all.

It was the simple things in life that were the best, really.

Seeing who it was that stepped up to the Calcumon broke into a wide smile "Why, I see a couple of familiar faces! And a new helpful one too! I must say little lady, the way you stepped up and helped that Muchomon with picking out something was a big help. She's a regular and it always takes her at least twenty minutes to decide so you were a big help!"

"But was she a big enough help to get discount on her order?" Roger asked with a wry tilt to his head. The Calcumon gave him an 'Oh you' look and then rubbed the place where his chin would be. Roger chimed in again, his voice taking on a sing-song tone. "She is a first time customer! It's always good to be a little generous so they'll come back!~"

"I'm on to you, worm! But you know what, yeah, I think I can give the little fairy a break, say 10% off the order?"

"Yes!" Hiroyo pumped her fist in victory, evidently that was quite a lot for this particular mon to be offering! "If this keeps up I'm going to start taking clover showers myself!"

"Please don't."

Hiroyo hid her giggling behind one cupped hand as Tink proclaimed her excitement for cake. It certainly was something Hiroyo was excited for as well! Cake might not be as popular as ice cream for a sweet treat in the heat, but the fact it wouldn't melt away no matter how warm it got was definitely a strong factor in Hiroyo's thoughts.

Not everyone could shovel ice cream down their throat as easily as if they breathed it after all! Some people were absolutely shameless when it came to such things.

Speaking of shamelessness...Hiroyo grinned widely as Tink thanked Calcumon for the discount and pounced on the opportunity. "Well then since I'm treating her that means I get the benefit of the discount today, right, right? In that case we're going to have the large-size mini cupcake sampler please!"

Calcumon rolled his eyes at the human in a good-natured way. He waved a hand at her as he typed up the bill then disappeared into the back to get their order. "You've got it, wait right here."

Roger cackled chuckled to himself as he readjusted himself across Hiroyo's shoulders, his antenna flicking in a way that managed to be very self-satisfied. Of course given the numbers on the bill he had good reason to be pleased with himself! "See, even the one who took a shamrock shower thinks it is a bad idea. Give it up!"

Hiroyo rolled her eyes and gave a dramatic sigh as she reached out to pick up the bill and read it. "If you two insist!"

She was pulling her digivice out of the little clear plastic pouch she kept it in when Calcumon returned with the order on a serving tray - just in time to hear Tink's question about leftover. "Of course ya are! You paid for it, it's yours to do with what you want! You can even throw it away if ya want, but we'd really prefer you share it. If you need bags and boxes to split it up later just come back up to the window!"

Hiroyo handed over her digivice which he took quickly and then scanned it on his register behind the counter, deducting the bits for the cake-based feast and then handing it back. The human had just finished stowing it away and was carefully picking up the platter when the Calcuumon leaned close with a rather shifty look at other nearby patrons before whispering conspiratorially to the group. "Lissen, I don't mind giving you a discount because you helped me out but don't go spreading it around, alright?"
