As the lesson finally reached the duo, Miku Do felt proud that she managed to teach them a lesson in combat and in responsible usage. While it's impressive to be able to combo such cards, such combos can't be used too quickly. As the digimon started to lash out she let go of her blade and bounced off the Trailmon's armor. She suspected the Trailmon of being up to something before sensing the steam on her skin. Immediately she made a dash for the Xros General.
She picked up Eito and immediately pressed him against her chest as she started running away from the spewing steam. She could feel it burn her back a bit, the heat did hurt but she narrowly outran it. However while she ran, she made a note of his hands as she slyly withdrew it from his hand while he was probably still gasping for air, face stuck in her bosom. After a safe distance from the spreading steam, she put him down and clenched her fist, concealing what she stole as she jumped back, away from him.
She looked at the two, as far as potential goes, she admitted these two had lots. But she took it upon herself to teach them a few lessons before it was too late. "You two are doing great, but there are three major problems in the last twenty seconds. First off, Tetsu, in a fight, even if there's a chrome digizoid katana in your head, which there is now, keep your cool. Second, remember where your allies are, tactically speaking Eito could've gotten hurt even being on the edge of that attack. Lastly, watch out for openings you create."
Miku Do opened her hand as she held out Eito's D-Arc by the strap. She figured this would give both of them a taste of the danger they would face by letting Eito in danger. "In a real fight, I could've done worse. I could be crushing this or taking Eito hostage. Luckily I'm doing neither, but to replicate the former-"
Miku Do slipped the D-Arc into her haori. She hoped this would add stake to the mix and wanted to see how this would change the situation. "Don't worry, no damage will come to it. Also it will be returned. But for now."
As the steam was still a potential thread, Miku Do reached for her kuda-gitsune. Raising it to her lips she whispered some inaudible words before three ghostly blobs came out one at a time. Each forming into a baby fox before slowly maturing to a full grown image of a fox. The translucent beasts charged straight for the Trailmon, one at the front and each side as they all moved to charge and strike.
Miku Do awaited to see how Tetsu handles such a stress, and more importantly, how Eito reacts. Chie opened the window as she could see what her digimon was planning. "Stress training?" Miku Do didn't even turn to face her as she nodded.

Eito was sure he was about to be burned by the steam his Trailmon released. He could sense the heat already. Darn that panicky train! However, he is saved at the last second- and yet his skin is still heated up. He was held so very closely by that darn distracting Miko Do. By the time it was all over, he was beet red as if he had been boiled by the steam, but not because of Tetsu's attack. "I um... th-thanks," he mutters shyly, first staring at her, then avoiding eye-contact as he realizes how embarrassed he is.
Eito and Tetsu listen to Do with gratitude, although Tetsu is still recovering from physical shock, and Eito is still recovering from mental shock. There were definitely problems with their teamwork. Tetsu also needs to learn how to remain calm. But the big issue is -
"H-hey! My D-ARC!" The openings Eito left due to being distracted. "Darn my focus," Eito grumbles to himself, before looking shamefully at Do. "Good job using your form to your advantage," he says sincerely.
"But boss, she just stole your Xros Loader card reader thing," Tetsu complains. "Why are you congratulating her? This is bad!"
"She could have killed me, or left without saying anything. Chill."
The battle rages on. Miko Do launches her energy fox attack. Without the D-ARC, Eito could no longer supply cards. He could only give advice. "Reverse!"
"On it, boss!" Tetsu backs up, trying to avoid the ghostly foxes sent by Do. "Now what?"
"Wait for it... and... spear!"
Once again, the Trilmon launches his lower horns. This time, however, it is mostly defensive, as he tries to strike as many of the phantasms as possible. Two horns, three ghosts. Would it work? ====================== Horn Launcher 1 turn cooldown

Without the D-Arc, Miku Do finally got to see what she wanted to see, how the two would react and work without the device. "Indeed, right now, your D-Arc isn't giving you power, it's acting as your safety blanket. Think on that." This would prove to be beneficial for them as Miku Do guessed how they work is relying on cards to weaken the opponent so Tetsu could finish them off. However for an army of one, without fusion, Tetsu was dangerously weakened compared to what he could be.
Tetsu's response went from wise to unwise, as he again launched his lower horns. Two of the side foxes got hit, dissipating into mist as they were not of physical design. However the last fox was still charging and Miku Do bent her finger, causing the fox to change course. Instead he went straight for where Tetu's lower left horn would be before lunging in claws first, scratching the tender area before dissipating.
While the wolf struck, Miku Do raised her Shakujou upwards, at an odd angle as two trails of light forming the limbs of a bow as she took steps back. Reaching two fingers outward to the tip of the Shakujou, she pulled them back as a arrow of fog formed. Letting go, it shot out of the bow and arced into the air, turning into solid metal as it was formed. The arrow's path lead it towards the hilt of the Katana stuck in Tetsu's top hon. Should it hit, the additional force would send the Chrome Digizoid blade further into the horn, cracking it from the top at the very least.
Something ran through Miku Do's mind, this partnership was seemingly strong, but there was something that seemingly intrigued her. "Eito, what is the role of a human partner?"

The horn launching plan worked as well as Eito expected, maybe even a little better. He thought since Do had seen that move before that the copies might've dodged. Luckily, he was only one-third correct. Tetsu grunts as the area where his horn was before launching was hit, but it was only one-third the damage he expected. "Gh... good hit!"
The attacks on the Trailmon weren't over yet. Do pulls an arrow back, and Eito immediately realizes she's aiming for a weak point but not sure what. No matter what though, a moving target is harder to hit than a stationary one. "Drift," Eito yells, clenching his fists as his heart races. This fight was serious!
Tracks appear in front of Tetsu, heading straight for Miko Do. He then boosts full steam ahead... but then the tracks curve and form a circle a good distance before they were to hit her. He hits his brakes, skidding and screeching over the loop, sending dangerous sparks flying.
While Tetsu was undergoing a physical challenge, Eito was under a mental one. "What is the role of a human partner." Eito... doesn't know. He half-closes his eyes for a brief second, taking a deep breath. "To be honest, I am still learning this. That is one of the reasons I'm here. Right now all I can do is give strategic advice and lend card power. But... we're not partners. I'm his 'boss'. His words, not mine. He wants me in charge but I don't know why."

As Eito answered Miku Do's question, she did not like one word of his answer. Meanwhile Chie in the RV, heard everything and she too shared in the feeling that Miku Do felt. She clipped her Digivice burst back onto her chain before she walked out of her RV as she walked around to get close to Eito.
Meanwhile Miku Do saw what Tetsu was pulling, and she bought into it as she was willing to take the pain as she charged at him, intercepting him as she reached his side, bending down to grab him by the bottom as she pulled every muscle in her body while she and Chie prepared to deal with the main matter.
"You're not partners? How dare you call yourself an Xros general and still have the nerve to even hold a D-Arc." Chie knew Miku Do was not acknowledging the fact that these two might be fresh in the business. It didn't matter, what really bothered her was that Eito spoke not of Tetsu personally, as if he was an item or property. Chie picked up on that, and chimed in her piece. "From the sounds of it, doesn't even sound like you want to establish a relationship with him."
Miku Do still exerting her effort as she chimed back in, feeling nothing for Eito as she had no mercy towards his approach to Tetsu. "Being a partner does not end simply at fights, there is no boss. It means you got the other's back no matter what!" Chie and Do's synchronization seemed to increase as they kept going one after the other, almost as if they were the same person. "Do gave me the strength to leave a life of cruelty behind!" Gaining leverage, Miku Do didn't let the weight keep her from letting her place any on Eito and Tetsu's relationship. "Chie was there for me and never flinched when I hit my rock bottom!"
Chie cracked her knuckles as her right hand gripped. Knowing full well what a massive problem was. "Fact is, if you can't live without the other, you are not a true partner. Tetsu can't live without you, but you seem to act like he's some video game character. Care for a while but box him on a shelf later when you get bored."
Miku Do was just about ready to finally throw Tetsu over, as she tried to remain calm as she forced her voice. "He's your primary partner. If an Xros general can't form a proper bond with them, they are no true general. A general needs to connect with his whole army! Fact is I can't see you care about him any more than a child's favorite game character."
Chie and Miku Do's synchronization was almost perfect as her responses kept getting quicker. "Digimon have a heart, they have the same problems as humans mentally. It's our job to look past them and bring the best out of them!" Miku Do finally threw Tetsu over onto his side as she pitied the poor thing. It was bad enough he was getting thrown onto his side, but his entire relationship being dragged through the gutter was a wound that needed addressing now. "While in turn we Digimon help our human partner grow past their limits!"
At this point Chie and Do got in such perfect sync that their voices spoke in unison. "Fact is, you two are not worthy of your titles!"

Eito can not believe it! Miko Do was trying to flip Trailmon over? She must be crazy! Then again, these are Digimon. Logic and physics unfortunately have no place here, as he has been finding out. He feels almost helpless before the lack of any logic or structure.
However, where he can fight back is against Chie and Do's words. "You misunderstand," he corrects more calmly than he actually feels. "I do not know HOW to view my partner - or subordinate, as he himself wants me to see him as. I never claimed I wanted to be his boss, it is the role he is trying to thrust upon me. If we are supposed to be equal partners... why won't he let me? Until then, until I can get him to reveal his true self... I can only give him what he wants, which is leadership."
Somehow, that crazy digital Miko does in fact manage to flip Tetsu! She resisted the spark attack, overcame the weight difference, and flipped him on his side! Eito was getting desperate, but Tetsu expected this. "Don't badmouth my boss," Tetsu growls. "He's trying! I never asked for a friend! Eito, give me instructions! What do I need to do?"
"Tetsu... you... hang in there, I'll think of something."

The truth was an awkward one that needed to be revealed, for better or worse, Chie and Miku Do got their answer as Eito and Tetsu finally came out with what was wrong with them. Eito couldn't draw the line and Tetsu had no confidence in himself. Miku Do finally got to the bedrock of where this relationship failed, and she didn't like one bit of it. Tetsu was treating Eito like a security blanket, and Eito was treating his cards like a security blanket to help him as he doesn't know the full spectrum of Tetsu's abilities. She slowly walked towards Tetsu's front. "I see, Tetsu, you are worried about making your own decisions? Well, a Digimon that can't decide for themselves is a risk to their human partner."
Chie too saw the big problem with relying on one partner way too much. She couldn't help but restart the whole synchronization bit with her digimon. "Leadership doesn't involve barking every order. Sometimes the best thing a leader can do is let those under him make his own decisions."
Miku Do finally reached the front of Tetsu and she walked around to his top horn and wedged the Chrome Digizoid katana out of him. Retrieving the blade, she couldn't help but wonder what happened to Tetsu, if it was nature or nurture. She kneeled down to look Tetsu in the eye, she couldn't help but pity the poor digimon. She wanted to help him gain some faith in himself, but the only thing she could do was break apart Eito and Tetsu so they could heal. Although she ran the back of her hand along Tetsu, feeling bad for the poor digimon. "No one knows Tetsu's limits and capabilities like him, especially when he gets digifused later."
Chie knew that even while being wrong, they still at least stung deep while trying to criticize their relationship. She crossed her arms as she could see where Do was going. She walked around to his wheels as she raised her blade up, holding it faced down. She aimed it carefully as she stabbed it down, wedging it between the wheels with a bit of the handle stuck out. Even if Tetsu could move, it would be awkward and painful. Miku Do then ran around the large train digimon. Soon, she bent down and started to push forward as she started to gain leverage and soon lifted her fingers under as she pulled up, pulling Tetsu back down his rails as she took a minute to catch her breath, leaning on his side. "For a low level digimon, you pack quite a bit of weight... For Dorugurremon, I could've done this with my tail..."
Chie figured out quickly that Miku Do wasn't exactly the most brawn of digimon. She could tell that both Digimon were reaching their limits. However she presumed it was almost over as Tetsu had a katana made of the strongest metal in this world stuck in his wheels. She looked to Eito as she hoped she was sharing her opinion. "Think we should call it soon?I think Do is gonna need a change of form and Tetsu is gonna break something if he moves. That Katana is chrome digizoid, he won't be able to move without some sort of repercussion. Worst case scenario, he breaks a wheel."

Chie and Do were successful, not only in the fight, but in a total breakdown of Eito and Tetsu's relationship. The train was derailed, as was the basis of their interactions. Finally, the Xros General and the Trailmon realize they cannot solely rely on Eito's cards and orders. Tetsu had to think for himself.
"Have him think for himself..." Eito muses, "That would definitely be ideal, if he's finally willing to - at least in battle, anyways."
"What's that supposed to mean?" Tetsu snaps, still on his side. "You don't want me to think for myself elsewhere?"
"What I mean is... you do a lot of thinking for yourself outside of battle but that all goes away as soon as we enter combat. Sometimes you let me know what you're thinking, other times... not so much. I hate not understanding you."
Tetsu says nothing. He groans when the sword is pulled out of him and placed in an axle, but he refuses to reply to either Eito about thinking for himself, nor to Chie and Do about his strengths and limits. He only speaks up once his weight is mentioned, as he is put back up. "You calling me fat? Haha, just kidding, I am pretty heavy."
Eito had lost. Tetsu had lost. It was their loss to share. "Ugh... I'm at my limit, Boss, she's right. But what did you expect when having me fight someone who outclasses me by this much?"
Eito exhales disappointedly. "Good match, Chie. Good match, Do. You have taught me a lot. I can't be distracted by your beauty- I mean I can't be distracted by an opponent's appearance or anything else... I can't rely on my cards and my orders- and neither can Tetsu, which I hope he's learned. I've learned a bit about how to be his partner. And... I've learned just how great a difference there is between us and the rest of the Digital World."

As Eito agreed to cease, Miku Do walked around Tetsu and began to lift him again, only slightly as she reached under him to grab the katana. "Tetsu, hold your breath or bite down on something. This might hurt, it's chrome digizoid. Your axles can't pass this normally." Miku Do pulled out the blade in a quick motion before putting Tetsu down. Standing back up, she stabbed the blade into the ground as she got encased in light while her Shakujou flew out of her grasp and straight at Chie, phasing through her shit and landing back inside the digivice. Do's form reshaped back to the purple fox dinosaur of a DORUmon and grabbed his tail. "Ah, I missed having a fluffy tail..."
Chie raised an eyebrow to Do's reaction to what he missed about his form, but couldn't really disagree. in all the forms she's seen Do in, DORUmon so far was the most fluffy for tails. Although she really preferred Dorimon as that was one of the best to snuggle with. Do walked back up to Chie, who in turn bent down her knees to fix Do's scarf. "Good show Do, although you really hit every single board and category short of leaving them stranded in the middle of nowhere. Although next time, let's not go so far a power gap."
Do tried to struggle, but Chie wouldn't let that stop her, his sarcasm pierced the air. "Gee, thanks mom."
While fixing Do's scarf, Chie retrieved the D-Arc from under it, and the device was hot. Holding it by the strap at the tip of her fingers as she handed it to it's proper owner. "Here, I believe this is yours." Do recalled he forgot to remove it before he devolved, he guessed there was some transference of heat. "Oh, right, sorry about that."[/font

Tetsu lets out a steam cloud, though clearly not an attack but as more of a grunting groaning sigh. "Pff. Thanks for not completely destroying me. I wasn't sure I was gonna live through this sparring session." The pain has obviously gotten to him - and then there was a promise of more pain from having the sword removed. "I....I'm ready," he groans, taking a deep breath and waiting for the sword to be pulled out. Luckily, it was quick and smooth, but it still hurt like heck. "Ghyaahfff...!"
For a moment, it almost seems as if Eito cares about his Trailmon partner! He winces in sympathy pain. "Are... are you okay Tetsu?"
"Nyh....hf... been better, Bo-" He glances over towards Do - "partner..." he quickly corrects himself.
When Do transforms back, Eito shows a mixture of relief and disappointment, though the disappointment transforms to shame which he attempts to hide through humility. He bows his head politely. "Thank you for the lessons... and for returning my property" he adds as his D-ARC is returned.

As Chie and Do noted their success in breaking the two out of their respective comfort zones, they nodded after a side glance. She tapped Do on the head signaling him to continue as she walked back to the RV. Do focused on wrapping up the whole ordeal. He knew from experience if there was anything these two need right now, it was time to themselves. He figured that since both are open to knew ideas. "Well, you see, the most important part in your relationship right now is to not develop your own comfort zones. Point is, you can't get comfortable giving one absolute control."
Chie walked through the side door into her RV, pressing a button at the side of the counter causing the side pushed out to return in while making her way to the driver seat. As the vehicle condensed again, Chie turned the ignition on and started to slowly make her way back to the group before parking again, getting out the driver side door. "Do and I often rarely agree and sometimes I manipulate him with food. But what really makes us work is we realize what we really need at the end of the day. Which is not always what we think we need."
Do nodded as he faced Tetsu, clearly seeing that some wounds ached, but nothing he can't recover from. She could feel herself tired of the day and wanted to lie down. Pulling on the necklace once again, she pulled her digivice out of her blouse before pressing two buttons. She slammed down on the top as the air port lit up and Coding poured out until it turned into a red orb and smacked into Do as in a brief flash, the DORUmon was replaced by a purple Fladramon, posed with his arms crosed. Confused, he looked to Chie. "What was that for?"
Chie looked deep into his eyes as they concernedly gazed back into hers. He could see she wanted something of him, but couldn't tell what. "I'm tired and want to take a nap, can you drive?"
Do threw his arms up in objection, albeit in a different form he was just exercising and now she wanted him to drive. He was about to saw something in an annoyed tone but Chie leaned in as she threw her arms over his shoulders, getting close as she whispered into her ear, not sure if Eito was out of earshot but not caring. "Please baby, I've been driving all day, you never get to drive. Please?"
The Fladramon blushed as Chie started to get a bit flirtatious, in a flustered state he didn't know what to think but ultimately wrapped his arms around her as he whispered back "Alright my princess." Chie groaned, she hated that nickname but even worse but what happened next. He quickly lifted Chie and carried her bridal style as he started to walk around to the other side of the RV, speaking his last piece to the other duo. "Alright you two kids, we're off. This is the most important part in your bonding. Now that Chie and I exposed several of your flaws and in fact downright insulted your relationship making you question it; you two now need a time of reflection. Tetsu is not gonna go anywhere fast, so you two got plenty of time."
Do opened the side door and carried Chie to the rear bed and tucked her in, she gave him an exhausted stare but didn't bother reacting. Do closed the curtain before making his way to the drivers seat and opened the window while he adjusted the seat. Giving his last regards. "Chie and I look forward to meeting you again, we've been out driving all day, I think we might be either in the server woods or village of beginnings by nightfall. See you around. Take it easy for a few minutes Trailmon."
Do shifted out of break and into drive as he drove slowly, as to not disturb the now sleeping Chie. Driving away, looking at the duo left behind in the mirror until he stayed focused on the path ahead, hoping that it would be a smooth ride from then.

Eito and Tetsu were completely destroyed by Chie and Do. However, it seems that like a leg set wrong, perhaps it was best that they - and their relationship - were broken in order to set correctly this time. Eito learned the limitations and level differences of Digimon, to be on his guard, and that his cards and orders will not solve everything. Tetsu learned he can be a danger to those not involved in the fight if he loses focus, and that Eito was not infallible. "Thank you, Miss Chie, thank you, er... Teacher Do."
Together, they may eventually learn to forge a relationship similar to that of Chie and Do- Okay, maybe not. Eito smirks and raises an eyebrow as Chie sweet-talks Flamedramon Do into driving, but reserves judgment. Tetsu, on the other hand, has no such reservations. He bursts out laughing. "Oh ho ho, ha, guess Eito isn't the only one to think you're cute, eh Do?" Eito glares at his Trailmon, trying to play off his reddened face as anger. "Shut up!" Despite his outward attitude, he is still a kid with a long way to go. ======================== [Thread Exit]
