To Catch a Thief [OPEN] (1/2)

After her trip to the festival that fateful day, Akisunerai reflected upon her success as she chowed down on her ill-gotten cake. 'I bet I can get even more than just sweets if I practiced hard enough' she pondered to herself. 'What was that called, diversion? Yeah! Lets try more of that!'
The next few days Akisun studied her friends and her foster, noticing what kinds of things got their attention. Akisunerai began experimenting and figuring out what distracted each child and adult in the Village of Beginnings. Soon she was able to steal almost anything from anyone in the village, and she began to notice a pattern--- certain methods of thievery were more efficient on different types of Digimon. She soon became somewhat bored; it became like stealing candy from a baby, and although she was rarely caught her peers became more and more distrustful, even spiteful toward her. This was especially true when Akisun finally digivolved into a rookie. She was different from any other Digimon the village had seen... at least not the current residents. What should have been a pristine white coat of purity, she had become a dark violet. Her fangs grew long and her ears curled back like sickles, her pupils became snake like slits and her blue tongue flickered like that of a serpent's.
The others wanted nothing to do with the 'sneaky thief', and that was fine by her. Sure. Yeah! She didn't need them, there's probably much better things out there to steal anyways. So just like that Akisun took her only belonging; a single, shiny, silver stone and headed out into the great unknown digital world.

"Desmond." A small voice could be heard somewhere nearby. A tall blond was laying on the ground, now awakened by the sound of his partner. "Desmond." The voice repeated this time louder. "Desmond!" The tamer opened his eyes, his body still laying on the grass near a tree. He did not move but did open his eyes to the blue sky. "Huh?" He simply said while turning his head to face the little DemiMeramon. "Desmond!" The Digimon shouted out loud making the Frenchman close his eyes once more. "What do you want?" He then asked after a second. "Are you sleeping?" Well not anymore, he wasn't. "I'm not." He said a bit grumpy before moving to a sitten position and cleaning his glasses on his shirt. "What do you want?" He asked again hoping that he didn't wake him up just because he was bored. "I'm bored."
Desmond sighed. He simply looked at the living fireball that had a big smile on his face. He was too cute, he just couldn't be mad at him. "Fine, what do you want to do?" The tamer asked before standing up and dusting himself. He looked around him, there weren't much to see, to be honest. That was why he took a nap, it seemed like a good place and time to do so. The DemiMeramon began floating around him in a small circle with trying to whistle. Trying is the keyword. He saw Desmond doing just that earlier and has been trying to mimic him ever since. With no real success. "DemiMeramon..." This time it was the Digimon that did not react to his name. However, Desmond knew better than trying to call him by his name. So he just stood there, silent with his partner floating around his legs.
"Desmond." The Frenchman looked down to see the Digimon. "Huh?" DemiMeramon was now spinning on himself for some reason. "Desmond!" It was easy to see that he was easily entertained. "How about we..." And he began spinning faster but stopping and pointing in a random direction. "Go there!" Desmond slowly looked at the horizon. Well, he had no better plans so might as well do what he proposed. "Walk or carry?" He then asked after a short moment of silence. "Walk!"
And with that, the duo began moving toward the Village of Beginnings without knowing. They would walk for maybe half an hour before seeing a small purple Digimon that was maybe moving toward them? It was hard to see from that distance. That didn't stop DemiMeramon to get excited though. "Oh! Oh! Desmond!" He shouted with tugging his pants. "Can I?" He asked with puppy eyes. "Please? Pretty please?" The blond tamer sighed and waited a little bit more. The purple silhouette seemed fairly small, maybe it wouldn't try to eat them. "Fine, but be careful..." And the Digimon was gone as soon he said that word. He began floating as fats as he could while waving his tiny arms. "Hai!" He shouted as loud as he could. "Hai!" He shouted again as he got closer to the unknown Digimon.
"I'm DemiMeramon!" He joyfully presented himself. "Ooooh! What kind of Digimon are you?"

Akisun had been walking for what felt like forever to her growling stomach. "I could really use a cookie, or some donuts, or---caakkee….". She had become so lost in her foody fantasy that she had not noticed the figures approaching off in the distance. The smell of hot embers broke Akisun out of her daydream.
"Hmm? What's burning?" she wondered out loud. Her tongue flicking about, she lifts her head to sniff the air--- where she notices a fireball heading straight for her! She looked around, trying to find a way to escape. Just then, the fireball started to...shout?
"Hai! Hai!" it excitedly exclaimed as it came rushing towards her. "Oh great, another Digimon, what does it want?" she thought to herself.
The animated ember introduced itself as DemiMeramon; which, of course, preceded the question she knew was coming. "What kind of Digimon are you?" it asked innocently. Akisun winced, ready to fire back with a snide remark. But then her grumbling stomach gave her an idea. If she was nice to this Digimon, it may have some food nearby that she could...liberate from it. "They call me Dorobō-Kudamon, but you may also call me Akisunerai- or Akisun." She bared her fangs in an attempt to put on her most convincing smile, hoping that the hyper ball of flame would buy into her act. His innocent personality she had seen many times before in the village, so she hoped she would be able to use what she had learned there to pull one over on him. Her attention was then brought to the sound of approaching footsteps coming from behind the living fireball. Maybe she was getting into more than she bargained for.

The DemiMeramon was very happy to learn the name of the Digimon. "Dorobō?" He tried to not say it wrong but it didn't sound exactly like she did."Dorobō." He said again but slower and with more hesitation. "Dooooooorobō!" He then said louder before waving his arms up and down. "Dorobō-Kudamon!" This time it sounded almost like she said it, almost. "Nice to meet you!" He then paused before inching forward to try to hug her. "Akisun! My new friend!" He loudly said with his arms while open. She could try to avoid the hug or push him away but he would try again and again until he gets maybe, half of a hug. "Oh, oh!" The fire Digimon then turn around and placed his hands around his mouth. "Desmond!" He called his tamer who was slowly making his way toward them. "Desmond!" He called again and his tamer waved lazily at him to tell him that he did hear him.
It would take few seconds for the tall blond to reach the two Digimon. He stayed maybe two or three feet from them and waved again but this time at Akisunerai. "This is Desmond!" The DemiMeramon shouted even if they were all very close to him. "He is not a Digimon! He's a human!" Well, she probably already knew that. Desmond rolled his eyes and sighed. "Hi, I'm Desmond..." The Frenchman slowly said while looking at the purple Digimon. "She is Akisun! She's a..." And he stopped talking for a second. "Dooo..." He already forgot what kind of Digimon she is. "She is an Akisunmon!" Clearly, Desmond was not impressed but his partner had the biggest smile on his face.
"Akisun, nice to meet you." Desmond waved once more before hiding his hands in his pockets. "Sorry about DemiMeramon. He's a bit erm... Loud." He said truly sorry. As he said that, the little Digimon went to tug on his pants seeking attention. "Yes?" He motioned to the tamer to come closer but he didn't move at all. "Pssst!" Desmond rolled his eyes again and squatted down. "Huh?" The DemiMeramon whispered, well he wanted to whisper but it was loud enough for the two to hear it clearly. "I think you should hug her!" He said while trying not to laugh. "I'm not going to hug her."
"Why?" Everyone likes hugs, right? Why did his tamer not want to hug her? He was confused. "Akisun!" And he turned around to face her. "You want a hug from Desmond, right?" He asked every so innocently. Desmond stood up and sighed. "Sorry, again. He gets excited easily..." And he paused to look at his partner that was still smiling.
"Is there anything I can do to help you, Akisun?"

Akisunerai grimaced as DemiMeramon attempted to pronounce her Digimon name, after a few trie she shook her head in a not-so-convincing nod. Suddenly, the beaming blaze opens his arms and inches ever closer to poor Dorobō-Kudamon.
"Akisun! My new friend!" Akisunerai struggled as the excitable DemiMeramon attempt to hug her affectionately. After a few moments she gave in to her inevitable fate, swallowed into an awkward semi-hug, her arms pinned to her sides in an overly warm embrace. "No, no...that's quite alright... thank you...that's enough now..oh boy..." She pats his back, hoping to be released soon. The fanatic fireball finally released Akisun from his grip as it seems to suddenly remember something. Akisunerai took a breath of relief as she regained composure and stood facing the Digimon as it shouted to it's companion.
Once the figure approached, Akisun was in awe. It seemed different from other digimon; the DemiMeramon was something called a Hu-mon? Or was it Des-Mon? Akisun's brain ticked like gears trying to put the pieces together when it finally spoke. It began by apologizing for it's overzealous friend. She grinned nodded stood quietly, trying to analyze the situation she now found herself. She tensed when the DemiMeramon had mentioned more hugs; luckily the idea was quickly shot down by the 'HuMon'.
"No, it's quite alright, really" she laughed nervously "Your hugs are so…*wonderful*...that it's easily enough hug for the two of you!" She hoped that the pseudo-complement and slight humor would appease both of them and allow her to avoid another smothering. Akisun's ears perked up when the 'HuMon' offered to help. Her stomach growled as if answering the question for her.
"Now that you mention it, do you by chance have some food to spare?" she smiled a devious, fanged smile as she watched the pieces fall into place.

"Heard that, Desmond?" The DemiMeramon cheerfully said while pointing one arm toward Akisunerai. "She said that my hugs are wonderful!" The human just looked at him still not impressed at all. He just kept looking at the Digimon that was smiling and waiting for someone to do something. It would take him few seconds before repeating himself. "She said that my hugs are wonderful!" Desmond sighed and slowly moved his head back, now looking above. "Yes, I heard. Your hugs are wonderful." That was enough for the little fireball to jump into the air while laughing. "My hugs are wonderful! My hugs are wonderful!" Well, at least he's going to be entertained for few minutes.
Desmond then turned his attention to look at the purple Digimon. "Uh... Food..." He went digging in his jacket and after a second of looking in all of his pockets, he took out a small protein bar. He hid so that his partner wouldn't go searching in his jacket while he was resting. He unwarped the bar and went closer and put a knee on the ground to be closer to Akisun. "Here, it's not much but it's food." The man said with a smile as he handed the bar to her. "Don't show it to DemiMeramon, he might steal it from you." And he winked before standing up. He took a quick glance to his partner that was spinning on himself still very proud that Akisunerai said that his hugs were wonderful.
The Frenchman couldn't help to smile a bit seeing how happy his partner is. To be honest, the little fireball's cheerfulness was contagious. After a second, he would turn his attention back to the Dorobō-Kudamon. "Am I the first human you have seen?" He then asked. He wanted to know if she had a tamer as well. Maybe hers was somewhere nearby. But it was very possible that she was tamer-less. "Desmond!" That made the tamer quickly move his head to face his partner. "What do you want?" He asked softly. "She's a... Doooooooo..." And he stopped once more to think. He really wanted to remember what kind of Digimon she is. "Rooooo..." Desmond began tapping his leg with his fingers, waiting on DemiMeramon. "Dooooo..." It was hopeless. "Roooo..." A heavy sighed could be heard from the tall blond.
"Mind helping him? It might take forever."

Akisunerai's eyes darted from the overjoyed DemiMeramon and his bemused partner, ear twitching with slight annoyance and impatience. Once he was able to get the hyper ball of fiery energy settled down, the creature called DesMon seemed to get them back on track. He began searching through his pockets...there may have been a glint of something shiny as he rifled through his belongings before he pulled out a small rectangle contained in a colorful foil. It smelled sweet, with a slight metallic undertone. Akisun took a small lick, immediately disappointed by its lack of sugar. There was also something 'off' about it, but she couldn't quite put her claw on it. However, she was hungry enough that she gave it no second thoughts as she unhinged her jaw like a python and shoved the whole thing in her mouth at once. It was a good thing the kind yet seemingly unwitting stranger had unwrapped it first. She choked a little at his comment about DemiMeramon stealing it from her, trying her best not to outright laugh at the notion and its irony.
Then the DesMon asked a question that made Akisun pause a moment.
"Am I the first human you have seen?"
'Wait...hu..MAN? Hmm…' she thought, silently contemplating her reply.
"Desmond!"
'Desmon-d? First human I've seen…?' Suddenly it was as if the extra nourishment kicked her brain back into gear. This thing wasn't a digimon, this was something completely new! She became intrigued by the idea of a new type of creature she had never known of, but as she opened her mouth to answer the Human called Desmond, she noticed the hyper little ember was still attempting to pronounce her Form's name.
"She's a... Doooooooo...Rooooooo………………...Dooooo...roooo…."
The Human called Desmond sighed. He informed Akisunerai that the poor guy would be at it forever at this rate; and she could tell he was actually serious.
"I'm a Dorobō-Kudamon..." she nodded towards DemiMeramon."but you can call me Akisun; it's much easier." She turned back to The Human called Desmond "---and to answer your question, no. I don't believe I have ever seen your kind around here before. I would love to know more about where you came from" Although she was genuinely curious as to the answer, she also had learned an important lesson back in The Village of Beginnings---always know your target.

Desmond nodded at Akisun as she told him that she was a Dorobō-Kudamon. His partner, however, did not hear anything as he was too busy trying to remember that name. By now, he was slowly floating away from the other two without noticing it clearly lost in thoughts. "Dooooooo..." His tamer would look at the poor little Digimon but didn't say anything. "Roooooo..." He really, really wanted to say it correctly. "Bō." The Frenchman then said out loud so that the DemiMeramon could hear him. "Oooooh! That's a lot of 'O's!" He then shouted joyfully before turning around and making his way back to where they were standing. The little fireball would stop right in front of Akisun and then smiled as wide as he could. "Dorobō!" And he went for another hug or would try to hug her once more.
After releasing her from his tiny arms, the In-Training Digimon looked at the sky. "Kuuuuuuu..." Desmond sighed heavily, it was kind of sad seeing his partner struggle that much on a name. And he knew that he meant well but just didn't have the brain power to do so correctly. "Kuuuuuuu..." The Frenchman decided to let him think for a bit and would go speak to Akisun instead. "I'm from the real... Erm..." Saying the Real World didn't sound right seeing that for them, this might be the real world. "Earth." Although he hesitated saying that. Do they even know was Earth is? It was getting more complicated than he first thought. "Kuuuuuu..."
"Kudamon." The blond human then said a bit too loud maybe. He didn't want to sound mean but he was getting tired of hearing his partner trying so hard at it. The DemiMeramon quickly turned around once more and looked at his tamer with sparkling eyes. "Ooooh! Desmond knows her name?" Rolling his eyes, the tamer crouched down and pointed his own mouth with his left hand. "Do. Ro. Bō" He then spelled very slowly. "Say it." His partner moved his head up and down very fast. "Doooooo... Roooooo... Bō!" Finally, he might be able to say it. "Ku. Da. Mon." And he paused between each syllable. "Your turn."[/color] The living fireball nodded frantically once more. "Kuuuu... Daaaa... Mon!"
"Now say it again." Surely, after all that, he should be able to do that, right? "Doooooooo..." Oh boy, this is going nowhere. "Dorobō-Kudamon!" Desmond clapped his hands together and then poked the Digimon's forehead with his left hand. "Good. Now, say Akisun." The now very happy DemiMeramon jumped few times before going to hug his tamer. "Akisun!" He shouted cheerfully. Well, that was easy. "Good boy." After the hug, Desmond would stand up and look at the purple Digimon. "Sorry for that awkward moment." He apologized. "But at least now he knows your name." Hopefully for more than a minute.
"I don't know exactly how I got into your world..." Well, actually, he knew that he got there because of Netflix, or whatever and was now wondering around to learn more about his partner before going back home. "But, I'm here now. Well, for now." It was easy to see that he wasn't a hundred percent sure of what he was trying to convey. "Maybe you could help us? I mean, if you don't mind. I don't really like following DemiMeramon around all day..." He said those words slightly lower so that his partner wouldn't hear it. And he didn't because he was now distracted by the clouds above. "Do you think you can show us around perhaps?"

Akisun sat and watched the spectacle that was DemiMerimon and his struggle to pronounce her name; enduring the additional hug and waiting somewhat impatiently for more information on the strange human called Desmond. He mentioned he was from a place called "The Realm Earth". The concept that another realm existed beyond her own excited and intrigued her. Surely there must be items more valuable and rare that can be brought back. Maybe she could sell them and become rich! Oh, and what sweets they might have? Hopefully the rectangle she had consumed earlier wasn't the sweetest their world had to offer. Maybe this human creature could show the way to this Realm of Earth.
She became lost in her thoughts once again, a fantasy of a rich and happy life filled with everything she'd ever want and need. Luckily she had the time to zone out for a while, as DemiMeramon was still working on pronouncing Dorobō-Kudamon
She was brought back to reality by the human declaring the success of his Digimon friend.
"I don't know exactly how I got into your world..."
Her shoulders dropped in disappointment. He was supposed to be her ticket to glorious foreign treasures. She nearly dismissed this whole encounter as a wash, but then, the human mentioned something that caught her attention.
"Do you think you can show us around perhaps?"
Aha! Opportunity didn't just knock, it burst in! Trust! One of the first vital parts of deception.
'If this human creature can't take me to his world, maybe I can take something from him...' "I sure can! I'll take you to a nice marketplace! It's about a day's trip that way!"
She pointed enthusiastically into the distance and began to move in that direction. She was leading them to a small congregation a short distance from the Village of Beginnings. It wasn't an official marketplace, but it was a place where newly evolved rookies would sometimes gather and share their finds, like a small community yard sale. She also knew that it would take a little longer to get there than the Village of Beginnings---she had a plan for when nightfall came.
