Sunken Elysium. An interesting name, wasn't it? As far as she knew, thus far no human has ventured to the depths of this recently discovered city. Why Elysium, even? Somehow, Amelie felt like the name didn't quite match with the rest of the cities in the Digital World; Terminus, Whitewater, Rustport, Snowflake... Elysium had a nobler, yet decidedly alien air to it. Was it from another time, another era even? She wasn't sure.
But that was why she was here, more or less! Dirty secrets about a hidden civilization was probably something that would interest both the Research Club and that would probably do a pretty good news article. Nothing to lose, really!
Well, except for the fact that she'd have to go diving and that hasn't done that ever in the Digital World, but that just added to the thrill! On a sense, she was a bit sad that she'd have to do this mostly alone, but everyone else seemed occupied with things and stuff, so there wasn't like there was much of an alternative.
And that's why, she took a deep breath, put the diving mask in, and dived in. Well, she had to admit that what was in front of her was no more and no less than amazing. The buildings were entirely huge, and Elysium might've rivaled Terminus back on its old glory days.
This civilization is amazing!
She swam downwards, until finding what looked like a gigantic dome. A pretty immense building, actually! Wonder if it was some kind of palace and/or administrative building. If there was one, that meant that... there would be records, or even a library of sorts, right? Definitely worth investigating!
She began searching for an opening in the dome or a more accessible area. If not... she'd have to search the doors or an entrance.

The dome-like building was at first looks like it cannot be entered, but that's not true. Here, in the sunken city, it's seem there's a pattern about entrance. In case of the dome, it was locked by some sort of mechanism. From the label in the entrance, it's seem that a form of key is needed. The label on the panel reads 1-XT-C. Nearby map of the city seem to register XT building as some form of administrative building located about three hundred meter to the south of the current dome building. Whatever inside must be something that requires administrative pass. Perhaps her guess wasn't wrong.
If Amelie goes to the said place labeled as XT, The said building would looks far worse than the rest for some reason. It's charred, like there was some sort of accident happening there. On the plus point, there's no need for her to look for an entryway, as there are a lot of broken windows and even sides of the building that has collapsed. Perhaps there was some attack here, but whatever the case was, maybe she'll get more story by exploring both building rather than focusing in just the dome.

A puzzle of sorts, huh? Well; that was quite interesting! Apparently, the main building wasn't accessible just yet, and instead, Amelie found herself in the need of some kind of clearance in order to enter.
1-XT-C
She made sure to remember that sequence as she wandered, trying to get a clue of how to access the dome, only to stumble into a 'map' of the city by accident; that had been quite lucky! While scanning it for any clues on what there was to be found in the city, one place, in particular, managed to garner her attention.
XT
No need to be a genius to know that those were related someway; maybe the brunette was about to find something? Better to check it out! Two hundred meters wasn't a long distance... normally. Swimming made everything go slower, for obvious reasons; not much time later, she stumbled into the ravaged building, and was now pondering what had caused such ruin. Maybe it was related in some way to Elysium's, grim fate? Or perhaps it had been something that happened afterward; looters and such could be a pain when faced with the prospect of possible treasures.
The teenager would have to be careful, given that the place could crumble at any moment, but curiosity was already doing a number o her. Amy got through one of the collapsed sides and made sure to keep her eyes open. Either for clues on how to reach the main building, or for interesting items or facts present on the place itself.

XT Building - Ruined Wing
Upon entering, Amelie would be faced with a huge hallway. Even though it's huge, she might found it interesting how it couldn't fit a Greymon inside. Supposedly, if it was to be some sort of Digimon ran building, wouldn't the size be fitted for at least adult stage? On another note, it's not outfitted to be child level either. If anything, it was outfitted to fit the size of human.
The corridor structure seem to be normal, with the material seem to be more durable than concrete, but seem to be as easily made. Perhaps it's some form of Digital concrete, only more advanced than human one. The floor is made out of marble, its seems. If Amelie tried to open one of the door, she would find that apparently they're locked. All of them. Perhaps she should go toward place where the keys are stored?
Or perhaps...
She could explore more of the area, hoping that at least the crumbled wing also means that there are some rooms open for exploring, where she could just easily pass in without using the door. Windows would probably a bad idea, because it seems whatever ruined the building could be an attack from Ultimate stage or above.

An interesting place, indeed! The hallway Amelie had in front of her was nothing short of amazing. What could have caused this building's structural demise? That question kept nagging at her, but that was fine; she was determined to find out.
She began to swim through the corridor, testing the doors as she went by. First was... locked. Second? Locked too. Third? Well, this was beginning to get a little frustrating; for a moment, the brunette considered using the oldest key in existence to enter, but brute force could probably destroy some valuable archeological findings. Not to say that she wasn't a barbarian; Amelie Saboro was a woman of science!
Or, at least she wanted to think of her that way. That's why she would begin searching for any interesting rooms, or pretty much anything that would grant her access. Whether she stumbled into where the keys were stored (if there was such a room for that) or into a more interesting place, those two would be pretty great outcomes.
Right now, she wasn't exactly in a hurry, and the more she could explore this place, the better! She wasn't sure if this was a first timer or not, but the teenager felt like she was definitely going where no human had ventured in the past. Or at least, on a pretty long period of time.
Was there a better feeling than that?

A bit of annoying thing in regard to Elysium is how dark it is inside, considering that the building has lost its power. Though the question is, if there is a power running, won't that make the travel even more dangerous? Whatever the case was, she now have to travel in darkness. While there are lighting from the windows here and there, it doesn't seem to be enough for illuminating the building, but at least much better than diving late at night. Who knows could appear in here?
The pathway now is divided into two. The elevator definitely not working, but at least it's seem to be able to be pried open by human strength, even if they're just a regular girl like Amelie. Strange, considering some form of rust should have formed, but instead the material that made the door seem to be light for this. Then again, a lot of Elysium's building has yet covered by sea flora or corals just yet.
the other pathway is obviously the emergency staircase. It's been pried open, if not outright ripped from its hinges. From the mark on the said door which now is on the floor, it was pulled by force on the handle. But other than that, there's no noteworthy thing to be considered.
Inside the lift, if she decided to inspect it, she would find a map. Currently, she's in Fifth floor. However, the writing on the legend of the building map seem to be a bit too blurry to be read. Perhaps there are clearer map somewhere, but most likely not here.

Well, the darkness was something that Amelie had expected while diving on what could pretty much be considered a giant, artificial cave, and that's why she brought a fair bit of assisted lightning! Once things began to get dark, she brought a flashlight and tried to light to way onward. Maybe it wasn't going to provide a lot of visibility, but hopefully enough to not get hopelessly lost in this ruined maze.
She eventually found what looked like an elevator. Some effort and... there you go! That had been somewhat easy. What was inside there? The brunette doubted she could operate an elevator when there was no power at all, so besides checking what was inside, there was probably not much she could do about it; just in case, however, she'd check if there was any clue of the inner workings of the buildings inside the elevator. Namely, how many floors this place had? Usually, elevators said that kind stuff on the buttons or something.
Now, if the machine didn't give her any clues, she'd begin to check the staircase. Pretty roughed up, just like most of the rest of the building. However... yup! Seems like this was her lucky day. A map in a situation like this was something she'd definitely be thankful for. Not the clearest script, probably due to the ravages of time, but definitely good enough to give her a good idea of the layout.
So, guess she was going to... descend? She still had to take care of the locked rooms down the line, but that could be done on the upwards, right? After all, there was no hurry, and she preferred to be done with the depths first.

Fortunately for her, it's seem that the buttons stayed intact. However one that would be most interesting point of interest would be the fact that it have up to three level of basement, while the building itself goes as high as 14 levels. However... there might be some point where it doesn't match up? It's up to her to count the floor manually or not, but considering that the building is completely submerged, it doesn't seem like it's any taller than the surface.
Speaking of which, an interesting point is that there are a card reader. Presumably, this place have "access restricted area". These access restricted area seem to be denoted by red buttons. Those seem to be the last four levels and the bottom two levels. Which means, there are something really important there.
BROKEN WING 4F
When Amelie descended, she would find another set of room and corridors. These are less one-person room, but instead seem to be as big as meeting room. Perhaps the above floor meant to be some sort of room for worker, while this one is room for meeting? She's lucky though. The door is unlocked. Unfortunately, there are not much to be found here. The machines obviously broken, chairs floating (Seem to be light enough for them to float to the ceiling)... But an interesting point seem to be a poster. It's water proof, and seem to be a form of proposal.
The language used is strangely english.
ELYSIUM'S LAST HOPE ExD Project Exceeding the limit through alternate programming PROJECT ARK
Too bad there's no more explanation about it. The poster are torn, but seem the torn to be man made instead of because natural disaster.
Though, at the same time, she's also lucky. There's a small ID Card fluttering about.
"XT Department Employee Rank : Access level IV Janis Rhem"
is what written on the front. The picture of the person looked human strangely.
Behind the card, Amelie would see the information that might be the strongest clue so far: When missing, please return to the security office in first floor

Oh. It was one of those elevators that worked with cards, wasn't it? That was... super interesting, and also meant that some kind of clearance was needed in order to access the juicy parts of this building? Well, if that could be found, then Amelie would certainly try! She had until sunset to make as much progress as she could, the brunette definitely not being a slouch on trying to uncover the secrets this place had.
Now... onward. Another floor, another series of ruined corridors, even if this time... it seemed like the brunette had hit jackpot! There was a bit meeting room; as expected, everything was more or less in ruins, but there were really interesting bits, like... English being used, for one.
ExD project, huh...
Well, that seemed to be a really interesting plan, even if Amy herself wasn't aware of what all that technobabble meant, but she knew a couple of things about it; it was probably a highly experimental plan, it revealed that Elysium had been in danger somehow and probably had to do with how this place was pretty much a ruin at the moment.
Ark. That was an interesting word, too. Maybe it was a planned evacuation/migration of sorts? She had no way to know, and her attention towards trying to piece that puzzle was pretty much snuffed out as soon as she saw that small ID card. Well, definitely this was her lucky day! She repaired on how the name sounded pretty human, even though Janis wasn't the most common name. Hebrew, if her guess was correct. No time to think about it, though!
Security office, first floor. That was probably her next destination, even though she'd probably stop in case there were more interesting findings down the line, so...
It was time to descend even more.

XT Ruined Wing 3F
Nothing here other than more rubble. However, it's seem to be used as some form of another meeting room. Worth to note that there's apparently a room with ID Card Reader that says Access at least Lv III is needed. The machine is active, which made it strange. If she tried to scan hers, it would make a bzzt sound, definitely means that the card doesn't have enough entry level.
XT Ruined Cafeteria [2F]
It's a cafeteria. The food of course no longer here. There is a hole that directly leads to first floor here. A good thing, considering that the emergency exit to the first floor is blocked by debris.
XT Reception Area [1F] The damage over here is the most extensive. A terrorist attack? Something else? No one know. Thing with Digimon is how they never leave anything behind when they're killed that make it hard to determine the cause. But there are definitely lot of signs of fighting here. There are also signs of guns being used. Granted, the weapons are no longer there, but the bullet holes stayed.
The receptionist area showed even better map of the building. In summary:
First floor is reception area, including locker and security office Second floor is cafeteria Third floor is apparently some form of emergency shelter, as is 7th floor. Fourth floor is office meeting room Fifth floor is employee cubicle Sixth floor is another office meeting room Eighth apparently is some form of archive room Ninth and tenth apparently executive area, including lounge.
As expected, the "juicy" parts are not revealed here.
At any rate, the security office should be obvious. It's just slightly deeper from the receptionist area. The windows are barred, but at the very least there's a huge gaping hole there.

Third floor? Another meeting room, even if this one needed a bit more clearance than what Amelie had managed to acquire; had she not been underwater, a soundly tsk would have been heard. Alas, that was a shame, even if not something the brunette couldn't revisit down the line; if anything, that just ended up telling her that whatever was there could be quite important. Or... meaningless corporate secrets. Either or.
As a random note on the back of her head, the teenager was pretty surprised that these card scanners that opened doors were still alive, despite the extensive damage and the small water problem Elysium had. Second floor? A cafeteria; none actual clues or interesting things to see, besides the whole that'd serve her to keep descending towards the first floor. Well, what could she say? A transition was a transition; those were important in their own way too, even if not as exciting. First floor? Here's when the interesting stuff began, apparently! The signs of a battle occurring were painfully obvious; Amy made sure to check the walls in order to measure the caliber of the guns used.
Were those made by humans or something a digimon could use? If the caliber wasn't very high, the question would remain in her mind, even if... rookies attacking a pretty important place didn't sound like something overly likely to happen. The next thing she did was to gaze at the map, and discover that some information had been omitted; especially on the 'hidden' floors; guess that was something that was supposed to be seen by the average Joe, so it made a bit of sense. However... the brunette had an appointment in this floor already. Better to get to it.
The security office wasn't very far, and it seemed like it had been a specific objective from the attack, judging by its current state. What would she find there? Time to... check it out.

The calibers of the gun suggested that it's probably something bigger than what the real world human uses even in terrorism attack. While there's a chance that a Revolmon is involved, it's seem slightly smaller, more sharper, meant to kill things with very hard defense. Probably much stronger than Commandramon's M-16. As a proof, these walls are made of stronger-than-reinforced-concrete, but the gun hole seem to bore deep. However, even if she tried to pull something out, there's seem nothing left, which means it has disintegrated for some reason. No gun shells either, pity.
The hole to the security office suggested that it was bombed from outside. The rubble also suggested that. There are several items that seem to be destroyed. Melted ID tags scattered around. It's unknown whether they're destroyed by the security, or by something else. However, Amelie is in luck. There's one ID with Level III access. Its rank seem to be supervisor.
With this, she might be able to return to the third floor...
...Her luck however did not stop there. While the surveillance monitor is off and destroyed, a label showed [C Area - B3], [Generator - B1], [Quarantine Quarter- B2] on some of the TV.
Unfortunately, there are no opening that leads to lower level. Perhaps, a lift is needed. A functional one.

Digimon-made weapons, huh? Amelie didn't know many mons that employed actual bullets on her attacks, but at least she could think about a few. Right now, she felt like she was piecing a puzzle; the question was... what kind of puzzle it was? The grim fate of what happened in this place didn't seem to be all that nice. But... that was obvious, wasn't it?
Now, onto the security office; it being a target of importance when this place had been attacked was fairly obvious, given the damage it had sustained, but most importantly... the brunette valued the knowledge and tidbits of information acquired through her small search of the office. Lucky day, indeed! She had managed to collect an ID card with a higher level of access, and to discover what were some of the lower levels.
C Area - B3, Generator B1 and Quarantine Quarter - B2...
The latter two were fairly obvious, with the latest prompting her to raise an eyebrow. Just... what in the world were the digimons in here doing?
Oh well, those would be questions for later; for now, she had to use her newly acquired gadget in the closed room to see what was inside. What would she find? A meeting room or... a shelter?
Time to find out.

RUINED WING 3F The moment the ID Card is slipped in, the door immediately opened with a click. If she came inside, she would... find out that there's some sort of gate with membrane. Should she pass through it, she suddenly would find that the room is dry. Inside, she would find... nothing, absolutely nothing. It's a shelter, but other than dried rust which probably some form of blood on the floor, the room is practically empty from sign of occupant. Canned food strewn here and there. Survival manual torn around, and a wall that clawed from the inside, like someone trying to get out.
A possible explanation is due to the card reader from inside is broken, leaving whatever inside to be trapped in for a long time. Amelie is lucky that the door haven't shut, otherwise she would probably end up in this sort of situation too. Even so, the damage showed that the card reader is broken due to some internal fiddling. Seem someone just wanted to kill these people in the shelter by internal friction. If this is some terrorist attack, XT building's activity might be really questionable.
At the very least there should be another shelter above. Maybe she would find more clue above than down here. Because it's closer to the executive area, then perhaps those that there could have better facilities than these one's.

Well, the whole process had been pretty interesting! However, Amelie was nothing short of amazed. An entirely dry room? How was that even possible? Her mind was wrapping around what she had in front of her, eventually noticing some of the more grim details that populated the floor.
What had happened in this place was more or less undoubtedly, a tragedy; one or more people trapped for good and subject of who knows what kind of atrocity; this small dive had definitely taken a turn for the grittier side, and now... Amy wasn't sure of what she would find next, but... she knew she had to be prepared in case things took a turn to the violent. And could only hope that the limited amount of power she possessed would be enough in the face of whatever had wrecked this place.
However, she was bent on finding out the true story behind this building. Or at least the closest approximation she could; and that's why, making sure that she took every necessary precaution, began advancing towards the shelter above.
With any luck, this would prove to be an overall enlightening experience and not just... reliving a massacre that had dubious significance.
