Doggo himself seemed to be a bit alarmed that Jiro had just... collapsed on his playful attempts. Immediately, and in a gesture of concern, the puppy began licking the Dracomon's face, in hopes of waking him up, or at least on getting a response from him.
Amelie, who had just finished changing, saw the situation and couldn't but feel both surprised and a little amused at the situation at hand. For a second, a small grin graced her face as she gazed at Ryuko.
"Huh. What happened to Jiro and why is that stuffed animal laying on the ground, motionless?" She asked, fake innocence in her voice. Oh well, at least the brunette was glad that her initial guess of the pair being in a boyfriend-girlfriend type relationship had been erroneous. Otherwise, things would've gotten just a bit awkward there. "Let's do something. I'll take both Little Boy and your stuffed animal outside, so no one gets caught in a misunderstanding while you get changed, then I'll hand him back to you outside. Does that sound fair?"
The teenager really hoped Ryuko would catch her indirect speech and accept the deal. If she did, she'd get both Jiro and Doggo and proceed to exit the establishment, even if not before asking the receptionist if the dog really had no owner.
Guess she would end up... adopting him? In any case, she'd wait for Ryuko outside once that was said and done.
Otohime calmed down a bit, blindly believing Amelie's innocence spiel. "A-a-ah, yeah dude, that'd be nice! Be careful with the plush, thought. It's, uh, very very sensitive and breaks easily!" She petted the dog and gave Amy a crooked smile. "Now you be good, lil guy, I'll be with you in a sec!" She gently lifted the dog off Jiro, then gave the "stuffed doll" to Amy. Being a Digimon, he was, of course, quite heavy! "R-r-r-right, see ya in a while!" Otohime then began to put on her clothes, namely her school uniform, her shoes, her backpack aaaaand...her eyepatch.
That had been easy! Oh well, at least both Jiro and Puppy were safe now. Grabbing the two of them, even if struggling a bit with Jiro's weight, the teenager began to make her way outside.
She was a little surprised at no one she asked knowing why the dog had appeared, and even more so at no one even realizing it had gotten in. Of course, his owner hadn't even appeared, if he even had one. Well~
Only one outcome was left once the alternatives were pretty much a shelter or adopting the little guy. "I don't even know what name I'm gonna give you..." But then again, that was only a matter of time. For now, Amy just had to wait for Ryuko outside in order to handle her Jiro back, and most likely part ways.
Definitely not the relaxing experience the brunette had in mind, but it had been... quite interesting, anyway! Thinking about it thoroughly, it was funny how she couldn't escape the digimon stuff even while being in the Human World.
But... she had gotten a new pet for her trouble. That definitely had made things worth it.
Eventually, Otohime emerged from the Onsen, back in her typical Sukeban outfit. She tried to play it cool as she approached Amy. "Ah, thanks for looking after Jiro... ...which, uh, is the plushie's name, yes. Don't judge me!" She avoided her gaze, blushing a bit under her mask. Then she bent down to the dog and petted him. "Now you be good, lil' Mamoru! Look out for this Amelie lady, ya hear? There's many scary folk out there, and I ain't always around to bash their teeth in!" As silly as she sounded, there was nothing but sincerity in her voice.
Amelie herself couldn't help but giggle at Ryuko's own attempt at trying to veil the Dracomon's true identity; either she was being really dense, or pretty good at playing along. In any case, she'd wink at her while handing the digimon.
"I think you just really appreciate Jiro." The brunette finally said with a momentary grin. "Don't worry. He was safe with me." And, even if him passing out twice in a row, and one of those times due to an inoffensive puppy, of all things, was a little concerning for a digimon. Especially since the soon-to-be-named Mamoru just wanted a playmate!
Doggo just stared at Ryuko as she spoke, apparently puzzled at her words, even if surprisingly... he managed a determined bark as soon as she finished speaking. What did that mean? Probably no one knew.
Well... as entertaining and heartwarming as that scene had been, one thing remained true. Amelie picked her new companion up, and smiled at her new friend. "I should get going; I had a lot of fun! Hope to see you around~"
With everything said and done, Amy began to walk back home, little Mamoru getting comfortable, if not a little sleepy between her arms. The trip would take a bit...[Exit Thread]
Otohime blinked. Gah! She had seen through her pretension! But how did she know what a Digimon is? Does she have one too? This is all confusing! But before she could say something, Amy already turned to leave. "Ah, uh, I will! Hope tha see ya again! And take good care of the dog!" She waved, then carried Jiro off into a darker alley, where she fanned him some air until he came to. "Oooooh...is that dog gone?" "Uuuh, yeah, he is. Why'd ya faint again? Was that the heat?" "Ah, no, it's just....this is a bit embarrassing...but I am afraid of dogs..." Jiro looked down, fully expecting Otohime to laugh at him. Instead she gently nudged his shoulder with her fist. "'Ey, no shame! We'll get ya over that lickety split! Come on, let's get ya home, I bet the old man's already worried!" "W-w-waaah!" And so, Otohime dragged Jiro off into the night, back home. Later on, she'd tell her old man that she made a friend. Hopefully Amelie reciprocated that feeling!
