I Hang Around Here (Sho & Torahiko)

All Sho wanted to do was ride a train somewhere else, to be free of the muck that kept him in Shibuya's urban jungle. . Maybe see where the device that clung to the sweat in his hands would take him, all without flipping a page. Beyond the words in his books or the taunt of going on top of his school roof to breathe in some kind of freedom. No, where he was going was going to be as free as the beat of his veins, where his lungs could taste some really fresh air. He knew he could go through that gate at the station and reach it there.
He stepped off the train with so many fulfilled wishes, only to flick himself back around with his fingers buried in his matted hair and watch the train speed off through that clearing in the trees and endless canopy. He'd gotten a bonus in coming here; a free ticket tp being terribly lost. This...this wasn't a place, no, this wasn't anywhere. And it wasn't a part of what he expected, either. He began crashing his knuckles against his head, pacing the ethereal rails in of the track that sat within the dirt of these woods...Sho wanted to scream.
That was the feeling he recognized. The one he felt in that pulsing headache he had in the rain back then. When he got the device he held in his hands right now. When he became something he had never seen or heard before and got scared half to death. He activated the screen and looked at the creature it displayed. Tsukaimon. Okay then. He could be Tsukaimon. His mouth shot a scoff in such a quick retort to what he'd started to think.
"He'd be right at home here..." Came the shuddering whisper as he held his other hand out in front of him. That was the retort to the thought the oh-so-ridiculous thought that he could be an entirely different creature. Well, if he could be taught to think differenlly, he could be taught to be something different too. He tried to just summon up that thought again. The familiar excitement of being the winged beast.
A ring of glowing light encircled that hand, like a barcode or some kind of data. He could feel it as he slashed across it with his device and shut his hand back into a fist. In little but a few seconds, two became one. And Sho could feel it as he began to fly above the trees, seeing the sky and forest beyond him. He felt like he could travel forever like this. Like this form was all too happy with what it saw. He done back into the tall canopy with that feeling, hoping nothing too dangerous lived here than what he saw in the corner of his eye. Creatures all wholly unfamiliar like the one he was landing on a branch as now.
He laid down on it easily, feeling a laugh build up. He could hang around here for a while, maybe for someone else to show up?

The Digital World wasn't something he expected to encounter the moment he took a rather strange looking train on Shibuya Train Terminal. In hindsight perhaps he shouldn't have taken the train but he had been running late to school and didn't really had any other choice.
But now, after stepping off the train and seeing nothing but trees as far as the eye could see, perhaps he should have thought better before loading that train. "Where am I?" Torahiko wondered to himself as he began to walk, turning slowly in circles and making sure to look at everything that was around him, which it wasn't really much as most of it were trees and the random shrubbery here and there.
He walked alongside the train-tracks, trying to find some sort of path or signs that would help him to locate some sort of settlement. But there didn't seem to be anything of the sort. He sighed under his breath as he moved a branch out of his way, or tried to anyways as he almost brained himself when the piece of wood didn't seem to want to move.
"What the?" Looking closely, the green-haired young man blinked confusedly at the branch he was touching, seeing how it briefly glowed with veins of color along its bark, continuing down until it reached the trunk and flared outward into the soil.
"What in the world?" The "tree" looked like it had been plugged into the ground, and looking around showed that some of the trees nearby were also the same, yet he could spot the normal looking trees from the rest. "Whatever this place is, it's certainly strange," Torahiko muttered as he pushed the strap of his backpack higher up his shoulder and continued to walk.

Sho was certainly sore. As he heaved up on top of that slightly pulsing branch the pain seemed to seep right into him. He had to lay down and look around, feeling shaken if not anything else. He could see just a little further from this place, choosing to rest on what he saw a bit. No matter how sore he was, his eyes refused like the unfamiliar danger was pulling them open.
"I'm such a nimwit..." came the murmur to the accursed ground below him. It was a shaky and tiny voice, probably the only thing Sho was used to having in this body. Feeling the fatigue in him, he simply tried to flutter towards the ground. He shook and even snored a little before hearing that low rustle around him.
That was movement. Close movement. The kind of movement that shocked him back into scrambling onto that branch we was eager to leave until now. This entire place made him feel sick...from the circuitry in the "wood" he was gripping to the odd shades of anything he could call flora around him. The shrill shriek that left his mouth only left nausea in the bottom of his throat.
His head was filled with nothing but the mindless white noise of facts he was sure wouldn't help him now. After all, this was some new place...he was frail, and the only motive that filled his heart now was surviving this place. After all that, he had his mind. Sho had some semblance of an even more reckless plan than to follow where his gut led him.
All the information led to the same place.
So a batty, winged creature dropped from a tree with a rustling thud in the grass. Maybe a hint of luck will let it live.

The young man flinched when he heard a shriek echo through the forest around him, the human nervously looking around for the cause of such a sound, only to hear a thud a few feet away.
He turned around wildly, expecting to see some sort of unknown predator in front of him ready to lunge and tear him apart. Instead, he saw something different, some sort of purple-white colored lump on the grass? Once his beating heart stopped trying to erupt from his chest, the young man approached the lump with cautious steps, blinking down at the strange form laying on the floor, an enraptured expression on his features.
"It's some sort of bat?" If bats have something like a pig's lower body and have their wings migrate to the side of their heads that is. It looked like some sort of creature coming straight out of an RPG, and while he'd normally be apprehensive of such a strange creature just randomly dropping out of nowhere, his empathetic heart made him kneel down and try to see if the pig-bat was alright.
"Hey, are you okay?" He didn't really expect an answer as he inspected the pig-bat's body for injuries. Perhaps it was hungry or something? He did have some food in his backpack and a bottle of water, so perhaps a bite to eat would help the little thing?
Mind made up, he began to rummage through his backpack to give the thing something to eat or drink. "Hold on tight little buddy, I can help you." Or so he hoped anyway.

You couldn't exactly call this deception, could you? Sho, wishes he could grin through the coughs he belched forth after being picked up. A growl and a bit of a whimper was the only noise he could produce to talk about a feeling while he wondered if he broke anything...That is, if Tsukaimon had anything to break. Regret seemed to lack its usual pressure in this creature's head, it was more of an afterthought. Just like the generosity of the big doofus in front of him. An afterthought being used for Sho's own needs. What a thrill it was comitting crimes of the soul!
Sho wanted to stop thinking. This thing was invading his thoughts. Not like the...the...the Human in front of him. Wait, human? So that's what he was barely making out, a human! It created a giddy little shiver in him, though it might have just been the injuries.
"Hu..man..." The Tsukaimon Sho sputtered it with such relief, despite the shrill and monsterous voice that it used. Though the fact that he was just big enough for a fall like that to hurt him, there was a certain calm that filled Sho to be small enough to fit in someone's arms.
It began to sniff around itself, batting its wings a bit as he tried to gain some awareness of the forest floor around him. If this guy was going to give him human food, he should at least try to sniff out where it was. Maybe it was that kind of creature? Maybe it was the kind of creature who couldn't eat certain foods. All these rapid and fearful thoughts were just making him more squirrelly and jittery in his arms.
"Feed me!" Were the sharp and abrupt words that left its mouth before it coughed again. The Sho inside the Tsukaimon decided to add a bit more of itself into the magic phrase. A soft "...P-Please?"

The young man almost flinched when he heard the pig-bat talk, it sounded like it cost him some effort though, so he was right that perhaps the thing was really tired and or hungry to function at the moment.
The sniffing was kinda cute though, it reminded him of a dog searching for the scent of food. He flinched a little at the sudden sharp demand but calmed down at the slightly soft request that came after it. "Sure, little guy. I hope you like ham and cheese sandwiches because that's what I got besides some cookies." He took out the container and open it, the aroma of food soon wafting in the air.
"Here you go." He said, taking a large triangular piece and giving it to the bat-pig to eat.

The sandwich filled his mouth as easily as any fresh meat could. That soft munch carried his hunger the furthest away that it could be as it began to weightily flutter again, trying to carry the sandwich away with it's small digits. This person sure was nice, giving him this sandwich that tasted like joy to what looked to be a monster. But it still wanted what it wanted, trying to remove its clear image of weakness. It fluttered out of the boy's arms, still wavering a bit in it's flight to reach the ground and continue to munch...and munch...and munch.
"Tasty...how come it tastes so good?" The Tsukaimon squeaked in inquisition as it finished the last bite and returned a sigh. It fell over with ease, feeling satisfied with the perfect victory it achieved with The Art of War.
That thought was wholly Sho's and his alone. The change in thought gave way to a change in shape as the tiny pig-bat before him gives way to a kid in a disheveled shirt and slacks from a burst of ones and zeroes. The creature that Sho was had a taste in dress shoes. The creature of course being human, like the one he was standing up in front of now.
His hair was messy and matted, leaving strays on his elliptical glasses. And within his left hand, he held a device that the creature never did. A gasp left his mouth, before beginning to dust himself off fastidiously.
"Yeouch! That was...that was a trip..." Sho said in a tone not too dissimilar to the pig-bat's, maybe less shrill, and most likely a bit more proud. "Ah, geez...I don't know if I should be embarrassed of that or not. R-Really, I'm just as surprised as you are." Touching his slightly bruised cheek, he groaned...Guess he really did hurt himself that badly...

Torahiko laughed softly at the creature's amazement at eating such a simple sandwich. "Perhaps because you were really hungry? Food tastes like ambrosia when you're famished you know?" He teased with a warm grin, only for his grin to fall off slowly as his mouth gaped open little by little as he watched the creature change from a pig-bat and into a human.
"Wow, that was awesome!" Torahiko exclaimed with an excited tone, even throwing his arms into the air as a mouth-splitting grin stretched across his mouth. "I thought you were a Digimon! How did you do that?" The young man dusted himself off as well as he stood up, though he extended his hand with the water bottle to the boy in front of him. "Here, you can drink some water, it might help you."

Digimon...he'd heard that word before. In the park, when he'd first seen another one. So that's what he became when he used the device. Sho could only nod along while his head worked out the rest of the logic. The word didn't exactly make sound sense in Japanese other than the monster part but from what he's read in English, he recognized the beginning of the word "digital". That explains what he'd seen quite well...
"S-So that's really what they're called? Like a digital monster?" He spoke with shock and yet, he quietened himself within his own thoughts. Funny. He began to pace with the device as he began to pace along the ground, looking at the man. "So you don't have a device that looks like mine, right? That's why you're surprised." Sho spoke without even looking at him, simply holding the slightly bulky device in front of him.
For once, he was glad he could split some of his thoughts in two... especially since his mind was hooked on an inescapable logical chain. His body could be easily changed like code, so why couldn't hers? It almost carried him away, but the slow pain of his bruises brought him right back...
"U-Ugh. I know I'm just assuming, b-but I think I get it..." Sho took a breath, trying not to fall over and pass out with his thin structure. It was no wonder why he was at one with such a tiny and greedy creature. This was starting to really suck. "A-Are you new? Or can you bring me somewhere with medical help?"
This would be the oddest way to get a tour of this world he could think of, but at least it was working in his favor so far. "I would also like that water..."

"Supposedly that's what they are," Torahiko said with a shrug of his shoulders after the boy took the water bottle from him. "I don't know much about them besides what I've been told, and judging by our location I'm willing to say this isn't Shibuya anymore..." The green-haired boy looked around with a new sense of wonder in his eyes. "So this is the Digital World where these creatures come from? Sugoi~"
Torahiko was a little starry-eyed at this new development but shook his head to get back on the matter at hand pretty quickly. "But no, I don't have a device like yours, sadly..." The young man frowned sadly at that, did that meant he wasn't fit to be a Tamer or something?
Then again, if he had been paying attention he'd have realized that the phone he had been carrying when he stepped into the train had begun to glow and change shape, but his mind had been in the clouds so he didn't really notice.
"Uh, I don't really know the layout of this place to be honest. I'm kinda as lost as you are..." Admitting brought a small sense of nervousness through him before he squashed it down, no need to panic as that would only make their situation worse. "I have a small medical kit in my backpack. Just some antiseptic, bandages and bandaids."

Sho sat down with the green haired man, hoping not to work himself up so hard that he'd literally pass out in such a place. He made an attempt at slicking back his hair once his hands were free from his device, clearing a space for the man if he wished to treat him. With a sigh he tried to straighten out his white cuffs and collar as well, trying to hold himself to at least some kind of standard.
"So we're both new here? Okay...I think I, well, we might be able to work with this." Sho goes on with the utmost calm despite his injuries, that is until he starts scouring for a bag that wasn't there and instead only appeared in the back of his mind when he remembered where he left it. After a frozen moment of frustration, he simply shook his head. Move on, Sho.
"Anyway, I'm not even sure where to begin with this...I'm not a normal case that's for sure. I've seen a Tamer, and I'm definitely something else." He wiggles the fingers on his hand, realizing how terrifying that low unfamiliarity he felt when he became human again was right now. "But, considering that I at least know some of what the life here feels like, we could probably help each other out...Plus, I don't think the train I was on is coming back anytime soon."
"I'd ought to introduce myself at least. I'm Sho Tsuginaga. If you ever call me Tsugi, I get the wit of how over the moon I can look sometimes. Trust me...It's probably going to help us out." The boy performed a small bow, trying to escape the inevitable glare he'd put on his face. That slight distrust that drained the color from his face every time he felt it. It was fine. It had to be fine.

Torahiko tilted his head to the side, watching the young man curiously before he returned his bow with one of his own. "I'm Torahiko Isamu, 12th Grader at Shibuya Highschool, it's nice to meet you Sho-san." He straightened from his bowing posture before growing pensive for a few moments.
"From what I can recall, it seems that there's a place where new beginnings start for everyone that lives in this place or somehow finds it. I think they called it the Village of Beginnings? I assume the train must have brought us somewhat close to it, as I doubt it would just drop us in a really dangerous area." Then again it might as well have, considering he didn't know much about the Digital World to draw an accurate assessment about it, then again he was just floored than an entire Digital World filled with amazing creatures like Digimon existed to even worry about semantics like that at the moment.
Still, back to the matter hand at Torahiko, stay on track. "Perhaps you're some sort of Hybrid? The fact that you can turn into a Digimon seems amazing! It sounds like you can become some sort of Superhero like in the cartoons!" The young man grew up gaming and watching all sort of animated cartoons and the like, so it wasn't a wonder that cartoons like normal humans turning into Superheroes and battling for the sake of the universe were something that attracted his attention.
The young man almost seemed to vibrate in place; greats amount of energy just waiting to become unbound and flare outward at any moment. "This is so cool; it's like we're in a video game! I wonder if we can gain some cool superpowers?" The young man wondered with stars in his eyes.

While his optimistic attitude gave Sho a bit of a crooked smile, his sudden implications made his head spin. Superhero? Hybrid? From what he could tell, being seated with any of those weighty words would keep him as sick and dazed as he looked to be right now. And he certainly hoped this wasn't some advanced piece of technology...Was this a twelfth grader? The thought rang in his head before he shook himself out of it, slowly going through the ordeal of standing up in the body he'd only left for a few moments.
"I-I sure hope not...this is a quite disorienting experience." Sho scratched his head before going for his device, or some other diversion to keep the uncertainty out of his voice...He was the one with slightly more experience no matter Tora's age, he'd been a Digimon after all! And how many people could say that? Sho silently wished the buttons he was pressing in varying combination would give him an answer to that question. To any of his questions...
"Well, If I can find some kind of compass on this thing we might be able to make it to that Village Of Beginnings or somewhere that can help." He wasn't very confident that he would but he looked to Tora with a shaky nod as if he was.
"Who knows? Maybe we'll find someone in our situation, and maybe I can find someone who can help me learn what I can do...I have a feeling what I have is something far more intimate than being a Tamer." One of his hands lept to his hair as he flicked a lock of it across his face, scrunched up a bit with pain and confusion.
"To be honest, I don't even know if I'm human..."

Torahiko definitely didn't act like he was a twelfth grader, or his age if he was completely honest. He seemed to act like he was still a child at heart and below his age in term of seriousness. But could you really blame him? He had seen how the adults and other people his age acted at times and it just makes him want to shake his head at how drone-like they looked.
As far as he was concerned, growing old is inevitable, but growing up is optional.
Back to the matter at hand though. "Finding a place to rest and then someone that can help us would be ideal, yeah. Regardless of anything though, if you're a Digimon or entirely human or a Hybrid or whatever, you're still cool in my book Sho-san!" The young man said with such a friendly yet slightly naive demeanor it was almost blinding.
Though the subject about how Sho was different than a normal Tamer brought him some pause as he thought it over, perhaps he was also like Sho and could turn into one of these Digimon? It would somewhat explain why he didn't have a Digimon of his own, then again he didn't have any sort of device like Sho did, so he brushed that theory aside with a bit of reluctance.
After all, who wouldn't want to turn into a Digimon and do some cool stuff?!
"Do you want to just walk around? We could still talk along the way as we try to find some civilization and stuff."

Sho chuckled at Tora's assurance, just in case he was making another pun on his name with the "book" comment. He felt a bit lighter than usual, although he wasn't sure if he was becoming lightheaded or if this man in front of him was just had that aura of cheer. He decides to get back on track before he floats off to unconsciousness, putting away his device in his pocket for hopefully quick access. He still needed to treat those small wounds of his...
"Sure, um, let's just go in simple directions, in case we have to head back." Sho begins to go for Tora's medical kit, if he could try and find it before they left. "You should probably know how I got this gadget of mine then, just in case we run into anyone who might've had a similar experience, y'know?"
He'd take the kit out, trying to find basic things for his hands and elbows before putting the medkit in front of Tora once again. "Ah, sorry, could you help me with the bruises on my face?" Sho requested this in a smaller voice than before until he woke himself up by stretching out his cheeks. "Yikes!" That's the sound of someone really underestimating just how much something hurt.
"A-Anyway, all that happened was that it was raining and I was by that mucky river we had. I ended up getting struck by lightning from what I can remember! Or the lightning struck near me, I guess...Then I was that creature, looking down at where I was and thinking I'd died." Sho leaned up against one of the trees as he went on, watching out for anything that might be nearing them...
"The device, it called that Digimon I could turn into a.. "Tsukaimon", that's it. And I think it can do a whole bunch of other stuff I don't know yet too!" He was beginning to always perk up like this when he thought of the wonderous things the device could do for him.
