Going Nowhere Bright (Sho & Wakako)

Something can't instantly arise from anywhere. Especially not here. Sho took a short breath, eying the IceDevimon and it's odd aura, finding all the evidence he needed. Of course, it had to be an illusion. He immediately calmed his voice, focused on the disappearance of the Sorcerermon before taking a small turn back to Wakako.
"R-R-Run. Find your p-power and we can go, I-I'll be fine." he shivered out of his lips with haste, facing his weak enemy and ripping his digivice past his hand. Out of the swirling Digicode, his tiny Tsukaimon form appeared, wings spread and ready to go. He howled in his impish voice, revving up his wings and swooping into the IceDevimon's face.
Gatling Gust!: "Get outta my sight!" Sho screeched, trying to bat the illusion away with the wind under his wings, hoping that it would clear his vision. The quicker he could find this Sorcerermon, the faster he could blow him away!

Hope was something Wakako had been trying to hold close to her these past few days, but now as Sorcermon disappeared and a demonic figure emerged... ready to tear them both in half. For someone like Wakako who has yet to experience the dark, cruel side of the Digital World and its inhabitants, this was a harsh lesson for the young girl... her eyes filled with fear.
"N-No... No!" the girl squeaked, backing off in fear, the tenseness of the situation only amplifying the worsening headache she was experiencing as the huge ice devil lurched forward towards them. Were it not for Sho snapping Wakako back into reality as the Spirit Wielder turned into their Tsukaimon form once again, she would have likely been paralyzed from her fear... They were right though... She just needed to find this power and the two of them get out as soon as possible!
But... She... She didn't know where to look! Amid the chaos of Sho attacking the Ice Devimon, the girl was scrambling frantically trying to find anything that could help them... but she had no idea where to look! All she could manage to do was retreat to one of the crystal-covered walls, terrified beyond her wit's end.
What are you doing...? Stop dawdling. Find our power... and make it yours. the voice commanded once more... more demanding than before, her headache's intensity increasing.
"I-I know!" she managed to yell out, though it only seemed like she was talking to herself
Wakako is frantically trying to find something of value, but is dizzy from a headache.

What happened next may be a little unprecedented in the eyes of our daring duo. For as Tsukaimon assailed the IceDevimon with his wings? It striped flesh from wireframe. Like meat falling off a bone. The arctic devil began to very literally rot away in front of the human (and bean) as...Something was revealed to it's right. Something readying an offensive attack.
Sorcermon raised his staff as crystals just like the ones dotting the field formed above him. "No. You get out of mine, false Digimon." Four in total. And he sent the quartet towards the Tsukaimon, threatening to turn him into a bean-kebab if he wasn't careful. Coincidentially, this tore the decaying IceDevimon up even further.
Guess that was a lovely sight.
IceDevimon got screwed!
Sorcermon is revealed!
Sorcermon attacks Sho with
Crystal Mass: Sorcermon creates facsimiles of the white crystals that make this field up, and launches them towards his foe. Four in total, and he decides the targets himself. One turn cooldown.
Wakako is spared. For now.

He's won. All according to plan. Sho gave a curling smirk after having gotten Sorcerermon in his field of vision, directing his wing beating gusts upwards towards more of the crystals on the ceiling. Once he reached the height needed, he batted himself back, letting the fabricated crystals collide with the real one. This would hopefully create an effective smokescreen "between him and that worthless wizard.
Bad Message!: "Be careful what you wish for...puppet!" Sho taunted in a hissing tone, knowing just how effective his words were against this mon..."Just try and catch me you paltry, pathetic, parlor trick punk!" He hung back, waiting for the Sorcerermon to be beckoned towards his position.
Sho knew his limits, and just how to use them. Even if he got hit, he could bounce back just as easily. This would be as easy as turning the page. He'd already won the battle.

Wakako was just trying to stay out of the heat of the battle, even if Sho's end was more evasive than offensive. She trusted Sho greatly, but Sorcermon seemed so strong... Was Sho able to really defend them both? As much as she believed in him, their odds were not looking high. Sho was clearly trying to buy them both time by trying to disorient Sorcermon, and while Wakako knew she was supposed to be taking this time to try and find what they were looking for... she was unable to keep her eyes from being glued on the grotesque scene of the decaying IceDevimon mirage while watching Sho weave between the crystal shots.
Fear filled her heart. Terrifying possibilities presented themselves to Wakako, her fear of Sho getting hurt growing more stark as the fight raged on. She could never forgive herself if someone like Sho got hurt just for her sake... This was not what she wanted!
Why do you hesitate? Find the power here that belongs to you, child. That damned wizard is a fool, and one that is holding you back. An obstacle. the voice in her head called out to her once more, its tone louder than ever before... Wakako's headache at a fever pitch that was enough to cause the girl to grasp her head, wincing painfully as slowly... they soon feeling as if their head was being forcefully turned a direction on its own.
It was then the girl noticed a peculiar sight... A tiny statuette, embedded within one of the crystals on the wall. Suddenly, her headache soothed instantly.
Yes... YES... Destiny has not lied to you. This is the promised power you seek... Your power... MY power... Claim it Wielder of Light! the voice called out to her once more… Wakako feeling a strong pull emotionally to the item as the girl scrambled up to the crystal, attempting to figure out how to set the statue free.

See, when it came to moves that were surprisingly effective no matter what situation they were used in? The Bad Message of the Tsukaimon was notable in that no matter what was actually said? It always worked. Sorcermon's very ego was bruised. And what was originally a very angry wizard? Became a furious wizard. He was originally going to bring back his IceDevimon cohort from the dead...But no. That simply would not do. He would need to truly break and batter these humans. Sorcermon faded from view again as he brought forth his...masterpiece. The ceiling seemed to crack and groan under...something. Something loud. "I'M MADE OF METAL! MY CIRCUITS GLEAM! I AM PERPETUAL, I KEEP THE COUNTRY CLEAN!"
As the ceiling gave way? Sho didn't find a Sorcermon at his position. He found a much bigger problem. A Machinedramon. His engines seemed to roar and flare to life as it tried to hit him with it's mechanical tail. Now, this would be very intimidating.
If it were even the real thing. "ALLOW ME TO EXPEDITE YOUR EXTERMINATION, IMPOSTER! INSECT! MONGREL!" Huh, he even mastered the art of ventriloquism.
It was another one of Sorcermon's illusions. A much grander one, at that. As such, one should estimate that it's much weaker than the real thing.
And there was now a fairly large hole in the ceiling.
Given it's probably known now what his passive does? No point in hiding it.
Bohemian Rhapsody: Sorcermon is a master of the creation of fantasy, capable of creating illusory horrors that sure as heck feel real...While any of his illusions are active, he is invisible. However, should he be struck while invisible...Bad things happen for him. Try finding him -while- invisible.
Well, Bad Message did something. It drove Sorcermon to bring out his strongest illusion.
The Hellion - Electric Eye: His grand masterpiece. Sorcermon creates an illusionary Machinedramon out of the crystals within the caverns. This bad boy can throw out menacing attacks like a Machinedramon, sure. But they don’t actually hurt any more than a regular champion’s attacks. He’s also made of paper, only going down in two hits. Four turn cooldown.
The Puppet Machinedramon goes for Sho with a tail slam! Sorcermon's hecking pissed, though. He'll act himself next turn...

Sho still knew better...That new hole in the ceiling giving way to the Machinedramon. A hulking beast, a mass of engines and fuels, roaring rhymes at him. But sho could hear the meaning in his words. The Sorcerermon's thoughts projected effortlessly into that beast. All of that hate and all those words copied almost perfectly from how the cloaked wizard had talked before. Insects. That's all they were to him.
Nothing changed.
That was the thought he had right as the tail raised above him. All the crystal smoke and mineral mirrors disappearing from his eyes, and Sho had only just now realized that he wasn't gone. It was a clear smoke and mirror act, and nothing had changed!
Sho had still won.
And with the weight of that beast, it would take only a few moments for his tail to fall.
In an instant, Sho began to glide towards where he saw the Sorcerermon fire before the illusion was created. With a swift action, he'd become merely an evading fly. And it'd be time to see if this hack wizard could really crush an insect. He streamed through his fading smokescreen, under the light of the hole he put in the ceiling.
If he was this angry, he'd probably be led along and directed right to his position. And there he would be, crushed by his own rage. This would be a poetic victory. Poetic victory over a woefully poetic obstacle.
As he neared what seemed to be thin air, he began to swing with his widening wings.
Wing Beater!: "Come on and squash me then! Last shot, charlatan!" Sho screeched, closing in on where Sorcerermon disappeared from. This would either work or he'd be crushed pretty bad...But he had a pretty high stock in the former right now.

Fear is a powerful motivator, and for someone like Wakako whose entire motivations here in the Digital World were fueled primarily by anxiety and terror of the worst possible scenarios. Sho's taunting and mockery of Sorcermon while was effective, she wasn't sure now if it was wise to further incite the wizard... If they weren't going to kill them earlier, they certainly were now as they called upon a terrifying monstrosity before them... a mechanical amalagamtion of machinery that threatened them both. Imitations... Mockeries. This fool hides behind mere facades in an attempt to mask his insecurities. Shatter his beliefs my avatar! the voice called out to her, Wakako realizing there was no time to spend idle... Sho was doing everything in his power to help her, it was about time she did something to help him! Despite the look of fear on their face, Wakako refused to back down... she reaching for the totem embedded in the crystal as her hand dipped inside it as if it were water. The girl's form was suddenly enveloped by an intense light that poured from the D-Tector in their other hand, data spiraling around them as their petite frame forcefully shifted into something larger. What was once Wakako Mozume had been replaced by what appeared to a crystal-clear, ornate statue shaped like that of a dragon, covered in beautiful multi-colored gems. What would have been their arms were instead crossed and melded into their form, their lower-half a mere floating crystal hovering off the ground. H e r eThe dragoness seemed to slowly come to life, their pale eyes becoming bright-red as they tilted their head towards the Machinedramon illusion. Materializing by the gem dragon's side were four spherical orbs, hovering closely to the Human Hybrid... before firing a barrage of lasers at the false Mega level with brutal force.
Wakako has claimed the H-Spirit of Light, Spirit Digivolving to Alexandramon. Alexandramon has attacked the Machinedramon illusion with a barrage of lasers. [PASSIVE] - Crystal Orbitals - Alexandramon is accompanied by four floating gem spheres that hover by her side. These small familiar serves as makeshift turrets capable of firing weak beams of light via her command as a simple basic attack OR are used to channel her attacks. Should they and her somehow be separated, the orbitals immediately teleport to her. While each individually is just as durable as her, shattering one will cut her power by a fourth until out of combat where she can regenerate them. Cannot be used to reduce the damage Alexandramon receives from attacks without specific abilities.

False Machinedramon had been met with a challenge in the form of a nascent Spirit, Alexandramon. Nascent. Grossly incandescent. Angry. As it's lasers hit it, it was revealed that Machinedramon had been as...paper-thin as IceDevimon had been, parts of it being blown off such as part of it's head, jaw and it's left arm. "You think becoming something you can never truly be redeems you? PATHETIC! Give into your 'spirits!' SHED YOUR HUMANITY." Machinedramon bellowed, a distorted and mechanical inflection underlying the fake mega level's voice as parts slammed to the ground.
Elsewhere? Sho's wings found purchase, and...holy FUCKING SHIT, how much damage did he do? Not only had Sorcermon's illusion been dispelled, but where the slaps had landed? There was no robe, nor skin. Just -ZEROES AND ONES.- You'd think he'd actually be panicking at how much damage but?
"CAUGHT YOU." Both mon and machine growled as Machinedramon turned around to bullrush towards Alexandriamon and catch her in it's remaining arm, while Sorcermon himself attempted to get a hold of the fearless bean...and chuck him towards Machinedramon with all of his meager strength, who if he managed to catch Alexandriamon? Would have attempted hurling her towards Sorcermon and Sho.
If both failed, though?
Hoo boy.
They're both open to be attacked. Wide open. It's insulting.
Passive: Bohemian Rhapsody: Sorcermon is a master of the creation of fantasy, capable of creating illusory horrors that sure as heck feel real...While any of his illusions are active, he is invisible. However, should he be struck, he will take 300% damage. It’s a bit of a guessing game but he does leave shimmers when he moves. And he moves a -lot.-
Sho found Sorcermon and revealed his passive's FULL description by causing a shitload of slap damage. Meanwhile, Alexandriamon used Machinedramon as target practice, snipping off parts of the metal behemoth!
Believe it or not, Sorcermon isn't Crystal Massing Sho right now. No. He tries grabbing and throwing him at Machinedramon, who in turn is trying to grab Alexandriamon and throw her at Sorcermon.
Basically, throw them at each other, literally. Will it work?
Probably not?

There would be no rest for Sorcerermon this time. For Sho, having shredded and darted through the lightly shimmering body with his wings, he didn't want to stop. There was some sense he discovered in that hectic flurry...from the wireframe he was cutting into the air to the light he thought was coating the back of his wings. He wanted it...Sho wanted nothing more or nothing less than what he smelled in the cavern air right now.
Sorcerermon's reflecting hands could catch him. That wasn't a problem.
If a five-star meal could give you an embrace, would you even resist? Sho snagged on to the gloved hands he thought he was smelling, rather than seeing. The roaring and glistening around him bled and disappeared into the background. Without him even thinking, his wings were in a flurry above him.
Wing Beater!: He didn't have any words for this. Trilling snarls and high-pitched growling were the only sounds that pleased his ears. His wings would send their shearing wind right in Sorcerermon's face, a whirlwind of frenzied flapping that Sho couldn't stop.
Subconsciously, he could've sworn that he knew.
He had to, otherwise, what was driving him? What was making him want what this useless parlor magician had? Maybe it was a mind other than his own, but there was no way he could care. Sho wanted the data. Every single scrap of Digicode that he could rip and tear from him with a great laceration. It was hunger, thirst, desire. And it wouldn't let him go. Sho would flap into him until Sorcerermon was dust because there was nothing more he could ever want to do.
He would make the hack magician disappear just as easily as his beloved illusions. Sho would hold his teeth to the Sorcerermon until he wasn't hungry anymore.

The stone-cold face of Alexandramon masked the sheer stress of the small, innocent girl whose form had been twisted into the Human-Hybrid level Digimon as they gazed at the increasingly damaged Machinedramon as their attack shredded through chunks of the illusion. Their words tore into the Spirit Wielder's soul, a shiver running fown their spine.
Wakako didn't want this... She didn't want any of this, but she knew what she had to do. With only insinct and the will to survive driving her, the gem-like dragoness merely tilted her head at the illusionary Machinedramon with a menacing glare. "... I will do whatever it takes to survive... No one will stop me!" the Alexandramon yelled with a fierce determination as the illusion reached its hand out to try and grab her... the Champion level fighting back as their eye lit up, she struggling the Machinedramon's hand back with telekinesis.
For a moment, Wakako struggled to keep the beast back... but a triumphant push back allowed the Champion level enough time to arm the orbital spheres that floated by her side, aiming at the wizard's construct. "Luster Bombardment!" she yelled, launching this time powerful blasts of energy directly at it... hopefully annihilating it quickly.
This hack magician... She would not let him win! If she and Sho had to become monsters to survive... than so be it! This was what this world wanted of her...? Than so be it.
Unbeknowst to even Wakako, the forces that empowered her and allowed for this transformation... they filled her with their approval.
Wakako's innocence had met its end.
Wakako pushed back the Machinedramon's attempt to grab her, retaliating with Luster Bombardment with all of her orbitals.
Luster Bombardment - A stronger version of the orbitals' basic laser attack function, Alexandramon commands any number of her orbitals to fire a series of arcing-shots of violet energy. While fired in unison, this attack deals fairly high damage... but less orbitals firing at a single target cuts the damage down accordingly. (Cooldown: 2 Turns)

Sho's gambit had once more paid off, for as Sorcermon reached for him, the little bean flapped more shearing winds at him. See, normally this wouldn't do as much. This was a rookie versus a champion.
However.
One must pay heed to how Sorcermon (and by extension, Wizardmon) was a caster. Thus, he wasn't as...sturdily built as other champions may have been. Now, couple this with the disgusting blow landed upon him moments earlier, and you had someone falling apart at the seams. Not to mention Sho was eating him.
Tastes like ice cream, truth be told. Lurid facts aside? Sho was also dining on a higher level 'mon. If anything he should prooobably feel proud.
Meanwhile, with Alexandriamon and the False Machinedramon? The illusion had been shattered.
Quite literally. As Machinedramon was shoved back, it let out a single phrase. "Subject is no longer human." Those were it's final words before it had been blasted into mechanical pieces by the Bombardment.
Mechanical viscera that soon shimmered and revealed itself to be the crystal that this ENTIRE ROOM was made of.
And soon enough? Sorcermon's screams died down, leaving a wheezing and almost -dead- mon.
Silence...filled the room and the caverns once more.
Combat done.

It was over.
Sho was gliding down to the cavern floor with the flickering form of a Sorcerermon within his small jaws. He was hanging on all the way to the landing, his wings going limp behind his head as he took in the creamy taste of the dying wizard. To think that one of the last visions for this fallen charlatan would be a hissing beast, staring into him with a visceral focus. To think that that visceral focus would start to leave, that the bug-eyed leering would start to recede as Sho loosened his jaws. He tumbled back onto his hind legs, leaving the hand of his barely breathing meal with a juicy pop of data in his wake.
The Tsukaimon was breathing and heaving, still staring. It was still hungry, it still had some fondness for ice cream in the back of its mind. Some place where the boy within that tiny monster was living the hunting surge of emotion that the flecks and bits of data fleeing from the Sorcerermon were giving him. They were still hungry...still so tired of running...they were one and the same.
The only difference was that the boy had shut up.
That the Tsukaimon was the one lumbering and leaping towards the dying Sorcerermon with a cackle, eager to remind them of his impish voice. He stood upon the all too visible body of Sorcerermon just so he could feel it underneath his tiny digits.
"Y-Y-You're...mine..." The Tsukaimon was hissing, beginning to feel all the flecks and bits of data fleeting towards him faster as the life fled from the wizard. He could've sworn that something was beating under him, something that made him blink in the rain of crystalline debris that surrounded him. Sho felt his awareness slowly beating back to life. "I can't help but think you deserve this! Look at how wonderful this all is..." Sho declared to his meal, still in that impish tone, slowly feeding off of its data. He could feel it now...taking in the smallest parts of those dense packages...
Sho was still able to look up through the crystalline rain, seeing the towering, shimmering form in front of him. It distracted him as much as it dwarfed his presence, his eyes leaving the focus of his food for a single, laughing "Wow..." That was enough to bring him back. This was what Wakako had become...

Something triggered in the Human Hybrid Digimon at that last utterance from the false machine. The Alexandramon seemed to shiver with anger as they glared at the now half-dead Sorcermon that Sho was slowly, but surely devouring parts of.
The scared, little girl was not so scared or little now... And as she watched Sorcermon, she did not have an ounce of remorse for the Champion level. It was only seeing Sho directly stare at her did she finally snap... her wrath directed at that horrid mage that had forced her to go this far. The dragoness let out a shrill, pained scream as the orbitals that surrounded her projected polygonal blades... she stabbing one of the weapons directly into Sorcermon's skull.
As soon as the wizard's body was fragmented into data, she pulled in a chunk of it into herself... a futile attempt to try and fill in the empty void within her, but all it did was worsen that awful feeling of despair that had implanted itself within her soul. The Alexandramon let out a haunting wail of sorrow, for she felt nothing. In the end, she tilted her face down as she grew silent... tears running down their face.
"... Sho... Sho, what have we done? What are we?" the hybrid weakly mutter, revealing that deep down in that crystalling dragoness... there really was a scared, littled girl down in there. Wakako was terrified, terrified of what she and Sho had become.

Heartbeats sounded as Sho pulled the rest of the data into himself like a magnet. Each pulse of his core bringing in more bytes of data. To the Tsukaimon that fell to the cavern floor, the Sorcerermon had pulsed into life for him with a breath. Sho could feel it...the Sorcerermon was there. For once, he'd taken something that wouldn't disappear. His ears were sharply bombarded by the shrieking attack of the dragoness, watching as the last of the mineral rain hit the ground.
Once again, it was just the two of them. Two monsters...
No.
Sho's digicode gathered up at what he could've sworn was Wakako's pleading voice. It unravelled to reveal his human form, speechless, his glasses hanging lopsided on his nose as he was still dwarfed by the crystal beauty. He took a breath, pushing up his glasses and beginning to hyperventilate just at the sight. He had to force himself to see...he of all people knew the truth.
It was just two humans there. Wakako was in her monstrous shell.
"W-W-What? Wakako...We're still us. You don't need to...to cry." Sho huffed, staring into the dragoness' tears as they fell. He was absolutely sure that those weren't a monster's tears. Sho began to stumble forward, still dazed and almost confused. "We're alive! We...we won!" Sho cheered as he neared her, still unsure of what to say.
He gulped and stood up straight, pausing in front of her tall stature. "Wakako, I-I'm alright, I'm here. We haven't done anything wrong." Sho stammered slightly, feeling the chill of the cavern on him once again. He needed to console her, right...there had to be something he could pull from...some experience he had before. Sho had to say what was right.
"I'm Sho Tsuginaga, and you're Wakako Mozume. As long as you remind yourself of that...you won't be held to that power. You can leave that form, just like I can..." Sho assured, beginning to understand just how trapped that would feel.
