Sandiramon was... intrigued by the MegaSeadramon's attitude. Even as he was trying to kill them, they were oddly courteous even in the heat of battle. He was genuinely unsure if it was blind pride, or if they really were this confident that they were going to win. Honestly, they weren't wrong to feel confident now... It was Ultimate level versus Ultimate level after all... It was anyone's chance to win here.
Even as he rushed towards the MegaSeadramon, he held no hesitation towards the danger that the electrified horn presented. On one hand, it gave him an oppurtunity to attack Mizu... but as he collided with their body, the electrified horn of theirs coursed huge amounts of electricity into him, not helped by his liquid state making himself very vulnerable to the electricity. Even if he himself had no fear, he couldn't slam into Mizu with full-force, the serpent forced back as his body became solid as he let out a pained roar.
Damn these circumstances... He could not allow himself to lose! Even then, his body ached... he having underestimated the sea serpent's use of electricity. He grimaced painfully, realizations that he might lose inflicting fear into his core. Both parties it seemed were being pushed to their limits, but he refused to back down now. If one attack didn't work, he'd have to just resort to what seemed to have. "Treasure Lance!" he yelled as he spat out another copy of his Bao Kuí, though it was clear even he was being pushed to his limit.
Sandiramon was heavily damaged by Thunder Blade, he forced to back off and attack with Treasure Lance
Treasure Lance - Sandiramon spits out a copy of his venom-coated Bao Kuí or wields it with his tail expertly to strike foes. A blow from this attack inflicts two stacks of Bloody Poison[/i] instead of one. (Cooldown: 1 Turn)

The poisonous body of the Sandiramon had not stopped, leading to the worse of the two possibilities Mizu had envisioned. While the slime did not wash over her, the close proximity still did a number on her, making her cough and hiss as droplets of poison splashed onto the previous wound. At least, Yuki was alright! Sher crawled out of Mizu's hair, concerned. "Mizu, are you ok?" "E-e-ehehe, yeah, I am...but our friend seems to be on his last legs." Not falling for the same thing twice, Mizu managed to dive under the treasure lance this time, only sustaining minor damage as further droplets oozed onto the wound. Still, she was getting winded. As both serpentines watched each other, Yuki decided to speak up. "M-m-m-mister Sandiramon! We really, really did not attempt to desecrate your temple, and I don't want you to just die! Please, let us go, and we won't ever come back! There is no reason to fight to the bitter end! You gave me the chance to walk away with my life, now I want to extend the same courtesy to you!" At her tamer's attempt to reason with the snake one last time, Mizu stood down, but also prepared herself in case the snake did not make use of this opportunity.

Even as the serpent attacked once more, he let out a growl of frustration as he witnessed the MegaSeadramon nimbly evade his Treasure Lance, he desperately running out of options to attack with. He was truly being pushed to his limits even keeping up the pressure... yet even now, none of the stress of the battle outshined his bewilderment that the human seemed dead set just on ending the conflict with no further bloodshed. Perhaps... Was he wrong to continue?Giving Mizu and Yukiko a pained look, Sandiramon seemed to hesitate after the request... for several seconds not acting any further. "NnnnGAAAAH!" the Ultimate level roared before hurling their weapon forward... it embedding itself in the ground in front of Mizu as it dematerialized into light. Sandiramon frowned as their breathing grew slow... their form glowing as data was shed off, they shrinking in size as they degenerated into another smaller, white-serpentine Digimon... albeit one with feather-y wings. The Coatlmon was clearly unable to fight anymore in their current state, they weakly keeping themselves aloft. As much as he disliked it, it was far too risky for him to try and continue fighting... His master would have been disappointed in him, but the girl was offering a chance to survive, and sometimes the one who walks away is the one who lives yet another day. "If... If I had the fighting ssstrength, I would have continued... but you make a ssstrong point human." the snake softly spoke, their prior anger and determination to fight having vanished. "... I wasss blinded by rage from betrayal after betrayal... yet, I can sssee now you are not like the othersss... are you?"The old serpent seemed to hum quietly to himself, debating what his next action would be... It was a hard feeling to just let the pair go as it felt like he had failed his master yet again, but their words seemed genuine. He was loyal to his cause, but he wasn't one to cause senseless slaughter if it could be avoided... and his own life was at-risk. In the end, he had to lay his weapons down. "... What I must ask though... what drew you here to begin with? I... I cannot ssstop you now, but I merely wonder what your motivesss are?"
Sandiramon was forced to shed a chunk of their data, he degenerating to the Champion level, Coatlmon. They had ultimately surrendered.

Mizu was ready to strike when the weapon came down...but then it embedded itself into the ground, dissipating into light as Sandiramon degenerated into Coatlmon. She was surprised. Yuki had actually managed to get through the snake's thick skull. How impressive! That's her Yuki!~ Yuki let out a held breath seeing her words had managed to pierce the snake's rage. It seemed it had been betrayed countless times before this. Suddenly she understood his rage. She shook her head. "N-n-n-no, I w-w-would never betray someone, betrayal is one of the worst feelings there is..." She remembered the times a girl at school would pretend to be her friend only to then get dirt on her and tease her with it endlessly, fully knowing she was too weak-willed to defend herself. "I f-f-fully understand your anger, d-d-don't worry.." Ah and their motives? "A-a-a-ah! W-w-we came here b-b-because we're researchers! W-w-w-we had heard this place is f-f-full of history of ancient people, a-a-a-and our head researcher asked us to come here and record the runes s-s-so that she may analyse them!" "Yeah, but we told you that before!" "Mizu!" Yukiko's voice was unusually sharp, causing the many times larger sea serpent to actually flinch. "S-s-sorry, she's like that sometimes...a-a-a-at any rate, w-w-we did not intend to desecrate your home! W-w-we merely wished to learn about it!"

Coatlmon almost half-expected for his trust to be betrayed once more, but to his genuine surprise... it seemed the two girls' gesture for a ceasefire was genuine. "People once came to thisss place under the guissse of resssearch, but I'd find that every time... they were just thievesss. Graverobbers. People with no respect to the wishesss of othersss long gone from thisss world." the snake calmly spoke, reminiscing about bitter times where his trust was betrayed by greed, but... he felt like he could trust these two. "You can perhapsss understand my anger... Your story is not an uncommon one, but you may be the first to truly mean it."
Coatlmon briefly seemed to go silent, debating what to do now... After having antagonized two clearly innocent individuals, he could not help but feel a touch of guilt... perhaps disgust at himself for having gone this far. In the end, there was only one way he felt he could repay them back. "... If you promissse not to take anything with you... I think I can afford to allow you to ssstudy this place. Our missstress, Minervamon... She had a love for learning and curiosity, but I allowed my own hate to cloud my vision. Embarassssing to say the leassst." the snake quietly spoke, unsure if it was wise or not to allow two strangers to dwell in this temple... but these two genuinely seemed different from the rest. "I offer you permissssion to ssstudy the Temple of the Golden Snake in peace... The leassst I can do asss an apology, so pardon my rudenessss." Coatlmon apologized before bowing their head down, turning their back to the pair. "... If only more people were like you two... Never ssstop learning."
Soon enough, the floor under Coatlmon opened up, panels moving out of the way to make a hole for the winged-serpent Digimon as he weakly slid through... exhaustion and heavy retrospection of his duties as a whole on his mind. As soon as he slithered his way through, the tiles soon autonumously moved back into their positions prior. It was as if the battle that had just occurred had never happened in regards to damage to the temple... leaving nothing more but a pristine wealth of history for Yukiko and Mizu.

Both Yukiko and Mizu listened intendly to the Coatlmon's story, then nodded. "Y-y-y-yes, I understand your anger, to have one's trust broken...is the w-w-worst feeling." "Yeah, it's wholly understandable! Don't worry, we won't hold anything against you!" And then, the two were given permission to research the temple as long as they take nothing with them. What an honour! "A-a-ah, thank you sir, w-w-we will not disappoint you!" And with that, the Coatlmon vanished into the ground. The two watched the ground for a while, then Mizu de-digivolved back to Betamon. The wound the Treasure Lance had cut was still visible. Yuki, who had hopped off Mizu as she degenerated, seemed concerned. "A-a-ah, Mizu, that looks bad..." "Eh, I'll live! Besides, we got a huge honour, we can't squander that right now!" "A-a-a-ah, if you say so... ...a-a-are you thinking what I am thinking?" Mizu looked at her for a bit, then smiled and nodded. "Yup! Time to study the inscriptions and see if we can find a way people used to honour Minervamon so we can conduct the ritual ourselves, for Sandiramon's sake and hers!~" Yuki nodded, and the two made their way back into the temple for research.
