The only thing Adri could hear was the earth-shaking stomps of the ferocious creature’s feet smashing through the undergrowth in attempt to catch up. It let out a blaring roar of irritation as it continued to barrage its way through the thick brush of trees, roots, weeds, and vines. Adri continued to run without looking back. In her arms sat the small form of her partner. An almost completely round Digimon except for the two red bat-like ears on either side of the head. “Why did you have to sit on that rock. Couldn’t you tell it was a Digimon. Now we’re going to be crushed or eaten or...” The third thing was lost as the creature released a great spurt of flames from its mouth. Adri scarcely managed to duck in time, only a second later and she’d have been barbecued. Both of them screamed as the canopy above caught fire and then as a tree was knocked clean over by the renewed assault of the great dinosaur Digimon. It stomped forward more slowly now, letting out a low roar. They had been backed into another clearing. It was only now that Adri and Kouta got a good look at their enraged attacker. A majority of the creature’s upper body was coated in a stone-like shell. The armor ran from tail to the long pointed horn that was currently lowered, menacingly. The creatures lower body was a light grey, clearly less armored than the upper half. It opened its mouth once again and let out a fierce roar. Long taloned claws digging at the ground as it readied itself to charge. “Wait," Adri said, throwing out an arm to halt the Dinosaur. "It was all my fault. Don’t hurt my friend. I was the one who sat on you. I apologize.” Adri said in a strong carrying voice. Although, her legs shook wildly with the fear of being met by that long and exceedingly sharp horn. “Yup yup, it was all her fault. Humans, you know.” Kouta said, whimpering from Adri’s arms. The bat-like ears covering his eyes.

All seemed like it was going to end horribly for Adri and her new partner. The Monochromon was preparing to charge and attack her, and she couldn't do anything about it... "Rhythmic Slash!" A sudden heroic voice yelled. Suddenly, the Monochromon was flown back a few feet, a considerate bump on its head. If Adri would look up, she would see an onslaught of gold: a red dragon-man with golden armor, a belt, and a gold scarf. "Is that the fun thing to do nowadays?" The creature asked the Monochromon. "Attacking defenseless little ladies? Your life must've seriously hit the lowest of lows for you to resort to that."Right after the creature appeared, another human ran up next to the human and her in-training Digimon. "SuperShoutmon can easily take care of Monochromon, but I think it'll be best if we get moving. NOW."

The Monochromon stomped its feet once more, digging into the dirt strewn ground of the clearing. Adri closed her eyes, not wanting to see what would happen next. Although, she could guess and it was in no way a happy thought. In a low whisper so only Kouta could hear – “I know we’ve only just met, but it’s been fun. I’m glad I got to meet you. Sorry that it couldn’t have been longer and that, well, I caused all of this.” Kouta didn’t say a thing but continued to shake in her arms. The bat-like ears continuing to cover his eyes. A series of heavy stomps indicated that the Monochromon had begun its attack. But, nothing came. No pain. Nothing. Adri slowly and unwillingly opened her eyes, one at a time. Between Adri and the Monochromon was a tall red-skinned figure decked out in a set of shimmering golden armor. A long equally gold scarf billowed out behind him. He appeared to taunt the Monochromon and took the attention away from Adri and Kouta. Whilst her eyes had been shut, the unknown golden figure had attacked the Monochromon which now stood several feet back with a bump, flourishing out the thick gray skin. Before Adri could do much else. A boy ran to Adri’s side and told her to run and that the golden figure, SuperShoutmon could deal with the angered Monochromon. “O-o-okay. Let’s go, Kouta.” She followed the boy, breaking into a run. They ran back the way they had come in, down the forest path which had been trampled and in some places charred by the attacks of the furious dinosaur. “W-w-wait a second, who are you? Is that your partner?” Adri exclaimed, running at the side of the boy who had saved her. “Are you sure it’s safe to just leave him like that?”

As the two humans began to run, the girl started asking Adrian questions, like if that Digimon was his partner, and if he would be alright.
"No, we just met this morning," Adrian said sarcastically, before answering for real. "Yeah, that's my partner, and he'll be fine. If Monochromon is smart, he'll stop attacking. And even so, SuperShoutmon would be able to beat him and follow us. By the way, my name's Adrian. Are you all right?"
Meanwhile, SuperShoutmon was still confronting the big Monochromon, still in his combat position. "Usually the smart thing to do would be to run away. But hey, if you feel like being stupid today, then come at me! I can take ya!" He then ignited both of his claws with fire, preparing Enhanced Fastballs to shoot at the big Digimon, assuming he'd actually try and attack SuperShoutmon some more.

The boy who introduced himself as Adrian explained that his partner would be fine and would catch up with them in due course. “Oh, well. If you’re sure.” “Oh, my name is Adriana. But you can just call me Adri, for short. It’s nice to meet you,” she said, as they ran through the thick undergrowth. “I got a little stuck between, well, a rock and a dinosaur. If I’m honest. It was a little silly. I sat on the Monochromon which was curled up and asleep. I guess it didn’t like it.” “Well, yeah. Digimon don’t tend to like being sat on,” Kouta said, coldly. His tone had become more sarcastic and less terrified, now they were away from far from danger. “That’s not very nice, Kouta,” Adri whined. Kouta merely rolled his eyes in recourse. In the far distance, the Monochromon let out a terrible roar of pain and anger. It appeared to be attempting to retaliate against the Golden Digimon. Plumes of thick black smoke and flames could be just seen over the tops and canopies of trees. It appeared as if the Monochromon has released another fireball attack. Adri looked back at the flames but continued to run at the side of Adrian.

Adriana? That's such a weird coincidence... to Adrian, it seemed like her parents were expecting a boy. Then Kouta made a comment about how Digimon tend to not like to be sat on.
"I mean, it IS kind of basic knowledge," Adrian laughs, semi-agreeing with Kouta. "However, there are Digimon that look like trees. I wouldn't blame her for thinking a sleeping Monochromon was just some boulder. Hell, I probably would've done the same thing... and, being honest, my partner most likely would have, as well."
The two fireball attacks clashed, releasing a huge puff of smoke. When the smoke cleared, SuperShoutmon was nowhere to be seen by Monochromon. Instead, he made a run for it, to catch up with Adrian, Adri and Kouta.
"Heya, you three! I miss anything?"
"SuperShoutmon? What about-"
"No need to worry! It's probably dumb enough to think that it killed me, anyways. We're looong gone."

“Wow, you must be pretty strong,” she said looking up at the gold armored, dragon-like figure. “To defeat a Monochromon, that easily.” Although, Adri knew very little of the Digital World, she could still assume strength in those she met. Even if she wasn’t completely correct.
“So if you defeated it and we’re long gone. Why don’t we stop running, huh.” Kouta said from his perch in Adri’s arms. As such, Adri stopped cold in a clear and quiet part of the forest or so it seemed. It wasn’t always clear in this world. There could still be, something, hiding around here. After all, that Monochromon looked like a boulder. Anything could, well, be anything in this strange world.
As the four of them paused for the time being. Adri looked across at the other human, only the second one that she had met. The first had been Amy, another girl. This was the first boy, she had met. “I’m quite curious. If you don’t mind me asking. How long have you been here? In the Digital World? I mean.”
“I’ve only been here for two days and I’ve already got myself into trouble,” she said, smiling jovially across at Adrian. “What a hopeless partner, I got stuck with,” muttered Kouta. Adri ignored the snark and continued to look across at Adrian with interest.

SuperShoutmon blushed after being called strong, which was funny to see the tall dragon humanoid doing. He chuckled nervously and rubbed the back of his head. "Well, technically I just ran outta there... Kind of out of character for me, but I had to meet back up with Adrian. Besides, no one gets hurt this way!"
"Alright, I think it's time you get out of that form," Adrian says, pressing a button on the Digivice watch he was wearing. SuperShoutmon then shrunk down to his rookie form, which looked a bit similar, but the scarf and armor was gone, and he was wearing green headphones.
Adri then asked Adrian how long he'd been in the Digital World. Ah, so this must be another new Tamer... more and more were being born these days. "So far today... only a couple of hours."
That answer must've confused Adri to no end, so Adrian kept talking. "My Digivice has a DigiPort function on it. I can take myself, Shoutmon, and at least five others to the Digital World, and back to the human world."

“Huh, I didn’t know you could do that,” Adri said, as Adrian pressed a button on his wrist-mounted Digivice. Quite suddenly, his partner began to shrink with a shimmer of white light. He appeared similar in appearance, albeit smaller and the fact that he longer wore the gold armor nor the scarf -cape.
The Digital World sure is a strange place. Especially the way that the creatures, the local species, can temporarily change shape through the devices that were gifted to the humans. There were many questions to be asked, regarding this. Can non-partnered and wild Digimon, change shape too?
As Adrian asked her other question, she broke out of her revelry and looked shocked. “A few hours?! But, how. I’ve been here for two days. I have no idea how to get home. I thought I was sort of stuck here.” She began to tilt her head from the number of questions this one statement had caused. But, thankfully, Adrian continued to talk. “Oh, your Digivice. I didn’t know it could do that.” She looked down at her own Digivice, which hung from her belt. So far, she hadn’t given it too much thought. It was just a thing that she had been given and had little importance to her life in this world, thus far.
“This world is so strange,” she said, out loud, again deep in thought.
“Have you seen yourself though, all those limbs. It’s strange and yet interesting,” Kouta said, with mild interest. Maybe, Digimon had as much interest in humans as she had in the Digimon. Maybe she needed to give them and Kouta more attention.

"You didn't know about Digivolution?" Adrian asks Adriana, as she comments on not knowing the Digivice can do that. "I'm sure your Gigimon explained what it was, right? Digivolution is when a Digimon enters a new, more powerful form. Both tamed Digimon and wild Digimon can Digivolve, although it's easier for the tamed ones."
Shoutmon nodded in confirmation. "There are typically six stages to Digivolution: Baby, In-Training, Rookie, Champion, Ultimate, and Mega. Right now, this is my Rookie form: Shoutmon!"
"I'm still new to the Digital World myself. I've only met Shoutmon about three months ago, although he's already able to reach his Ultimate form."
"And the CIRCUMSTANCES for that happening were... not that pleasant, to say the least. There was a big battle, and most of us got horribly injured."
"Ugh, don't remind me... so Adriana, has your Digimon managed to Digivolve yet?"

“Digivolve?” Adri asked, a little confused. Head tilting dangerously towards her shoulder again. “You mean that time that Kouta transformed. I take it.”
“It happened, just yesterday. At first, he was all small and round. But during a meal, he suddenly glowed with light and then… poof. Kouta turned into this form,” she concluded, looking down at her currently rather small partner. Adri looked across at Shoutmon with mingled interest.
“So, you mean. Kouta will get even bigger than he is now?” The thought of a bigger Kouta both scared and interested her. She began to imagine how that might look. However, Adrian began to explain about his exploits in the Digital World which distracted her for the time being. He explained how the circumstances for their evolution wasn’t exactly pleasant. A look of worry crossed her face for the first time. Unsure how she felt about this world, all of a sudden.
“Some Digimon are pretty scary. I hope that Kouta doesn’t turn into anything like that Monochromon. It wasn’t very friendly at all.”
“Well, you did sit on it,” Kouta reminded her.
Ignoring this, Adri looked across to Adrian again. “I was wondering, what are you planning on doing next? I mean are you, uh, going to stay in this world or go back to the… the.. our world?” She concluded feebly.

"Yeah, exactly," Adrian nods in response to Adri. "Currently, Kouta here is in what is called the In Training stage." He then scans Kouta with his Digivice. "Hmmm... if I'm correct, Kouta should Digivolve into a Guilmon, which is basically a raptor-sized Digimon."
Saying that probably didn't ease Adri's fears at all.
"Yeah, some Digimon are DEFINITELY scary," Shoutmon says. "However, there are loads of friendly Digimon, too! For example, this ToyAgumon named Agumaru is probably the most innocent we've ever met. Also, his belly makes xylophone sounds for some reason..."
"And there's this other Digimon named Owen, who's a Gaomon... or, a giant blue dog. Probably the clumsiest Digimon we've ever met, but he's pretty cool."
Adri asked what Adrian was going to do now. "Oh, it's no problem, I can send you back." Adrian presses a button on his Digivice, and a portal appears in front of him. However, if Adri were to walk through it, it would basically be like walking into a wall.
Adrian and Shoutmon's eyes go white and they sweatdrop anime style. "Uh, I don't think that was supposed to happen..."

Adri appeared somewhat concerned to find out that her little Kouta would turn into something as big as a raptor. Especially as, a raptor was a fairly large dinosaur. She looked down at Kouta concerned. “You won’t be scary, right?”
Kouta grinned a little. “I’m going to be the biggest and the worst like the Digital World has never seen.” Adri’s worries seemed to intensify upon hearing this. “Oh don’t worry, nothing will change.” He added, rolling his eyes in frustration.
Adrian began to explain that not all Digimon was scary, though. There were some, one whom he named as Agumaru who was innocent and another named Owen who was clumsy. It seemed as if Digimon had similar traits to humans. This made her feel a little better about the idea of her partner evolving.
Upon her query of what, he was going to do next. Adrian offered to return Adri back to her own world. “Oh wow, you can do that? I mean that’s great. In that case, I can show you my town, my school, and all this other stuff, I bet you’ve never seen before.” She told Kouta, excitedly.
As if taking this as confirmation, Adrian pressed a button on his Digivice and a swirling portal appeared in front of them. A spinning spiral of blues and purples which seemed to want to drag her in the deep depths. However, as Adri moved forward to step in front of the portal. Something rather odd happened. It was almost like a magnet effect. She wasn’t being pushed into the portal but instead being repelled from it. Every time, she stepped forward, even a single step in the direction of the portal. She was pushed back, two steps.
“Is that meant to happen?” Adri asked, putting her hand up as if to test the portal. Again, her hand couldn’t go anywhere near the swirling vortex. “I think it might be broken?” She said, assuming that it was some kind of glitch in the Digivice or perhaps an error of some kind. Maybe she needed to use her own Digivice somehow. Or unlock the ability in some way.

"You should see his Champion stages and above," Adrian told Adri as he smirked. "His forms just keep getting bigger and bigger. Also, hope you have enough food to support Kouta. Digimon appetites are gigantic."
"I can confirm that is correct," Shoutmon said as he laughed.
Then Adri tried walking into the portal, yet she couldn't walk through. She asked if that was meant to happen. "No... no that is not supposed to happen at all." He tried putting his own hand through the portal, yet he was able to go through easily. What in the hell...?
"That is... not a normal," Shoutmon said, examining the portal. "And I've seen some pretty weird things in my life."
"Why wouldn't Adri be able to pass through at all?" Adrian asked as he observed the portal. "Maybe... could something WANT to keep you in the Digital World, Adriana?"

Adriana pressed her hand against the portal again and yet, once more, she was repelled. Even as Adrian stepped forward to do the same, she knew something was wrong. The boy’s hand sank into the swirling void which separated this world and the world she knew.
“So that isn’t normal?” She asked, a little worried now. “I mean, I like this world, but, I don’t want to be stuck here forever. What about my life. My real-world life. My family and friends?”
“Oh well. The Digital World is better anyway. No rules or responsibilities. It makes more sense. It sounds better? Doesn’t it,” Kouta added, rather bluntly.
Quaking footsteps echoed in the distance, interrupting the conversation. “Uh oh, that doesn’t sound good,” Kouta said, hiding back in Adri’s arms. An echoing roar followed the stomps. A very familiar echoing roar. The trees right in front of them began to splinter and move apart as if they were being pushed by a great force.
The horn of Monochromon speared through the trees followed by the great helmet-like armor that shielded his head. “I think he’s back for round two.” Adri screamed as the Monochromon let out another maddened bellow of a roar.
