OOC: Alrighty, reviving this thread. I'm going to take over control of Arresterdramon and Tiki. Also, Agumaru has dropped out of the thread for now, so they may be replaced by someone else that may be interested.
Arresterdramon's glowing eyes widened as the enemy seemed to regroup here. The force of Toki's attack not only damaged the control spire but sent him flying through the air away from it! Furthermore, the other digimon, Raidramon, managed to strike the tower unimpeded. Tiki meanwhile gave a cheer as things seemed to be working out. "That's the way! Keep it up!" she cheered, then managed to assist by aiming an attack of her own at the dark tower. "Stand back from this one! Searing Bubble!" she cried and sent a basketball-sized ball of water at the side of the tower, causing it to explode in a shower of boiling hot liquid. A strong attack, but not enough to punch through just yet. While this was happening, Arresterdramon escaped from the wind current, and flew straight back at the combatants. The dark ring on him compelled him to aim at the ones attacking the tower, thus, he homed in on the Raidramon. His tail begun to spin like a drill, and he held it out forward, aiming to drill right through his armor! This was certainly getting serious now.
Combat Log: - Cion heals Toki. - Toki attacks the control spire and blows Arresterdramon away. - Raidramon attacks the control spire. - Tiki attacks the control spire with Searing Bubble. - Arresterdramon attacks Raidramon with Tail Drill. Tail-Drill: This digimon revs up it's tail and treats it as a drill for two posts. Dealing high piercing damage and ignoring armor for those two posts. Cool down of three posts. Duration: 1/2
Searing Bubble: This digimon launches a basketball sized projectile at a target. Upon contact it explodes, showering a small area with boiling hot water. Deals medium damage. one post cool down. Dark Ring HP: Rookie: 0/16 Armor: 2/12

Though somewhat disappointed by the fact that her ability to heal had not served Toki at all due to evasive maneuvers, she was more happy to know him fine than injured. Unfortunately, in the weak form of an Arnamon, Cion did not have anything suitable at her disposal to damage the dark spire. Her attacks were mostly passive or crowd control, which she doubted actually affected the structure she and her allies sought to destroy. Perhaps acquiring a digimental was not a bad idea for future endeavors. In any case, thankfully her comrades were doing an adequate if imperfect job to encounter their adversary.
Seeing the enslaves Arresterdramon head straight for the Raidramon, the silver fennec continued to carefully observe the situation at hand and time her moves properly. Although detesting the sentiment of purposefully allowing suffering to happen, it was a necessity today due to her being incapable of accessing her full arsenal of skills. Cursed zones of vitiation these black structures manifested. Still, in the very moment that the purple dragon collided with the onyx quadruped, she engulfed the latter in a brief sheen of healing radiance.

Once they were a good distance away from the tower, Toki kicked off Arresterdramon's back and back into the shallow waters. It looked like his trick paid off and gave some of the others the openings they needed to attack the tower. With any luck it would keep going like this, but he didn't keep his hopes up.
He watched as Arresterdramon attacked Raidramon and wished he could do something to defend him, but all he could do now was focus on the tower "Gargo Bullets!" he shouted, revving up his guns and firing a volley of bullets directly towards the tower now that the enemy was focused on someone else. He knew this would likely draw Arresterdramon's attention and actually counted on that happening. Soon he'll be able to use his more debilitating moves again to keep the battle in his allies' control.
Everyone was giving this their all, though he felt like they could use some backup soon to make this go a little more smoothly. Regardless of what happened, he would keep fighting. Cion and Tiki providing healing and occasional direct combat support was definitely a boon he was thankful for. He remained quiet, not wanting to distract the others from their mission, preferring to speak to his spirit "Any suggestions?"
"From what you've seen of his actions, just keep an open mind for the unexpected. Think of all angles they could possibly attack from and expect they have a plan for all of them. From there, it's staying one step ahead of them in every scenario. That tail, for example, is dangerous and likely has further reach than you think."
"You make it sound so easy, buddy...but I'll do my best."

"Nice one, Rai," Raidramon's Tamer complimented upon Raidramon's most recent successful hit on the tower, "Keep up the pressure. It looks like Toki's-" But unpredictably, or so Leith believed, Arresterdramon changed targets to finally worry about Raidramon on top of that structure. "Move! Now!"
"Huh?" Raidramon looked up instead of moving immediately, and that was why despite the young man's warning he was struck straight on by Arresterdramon's attack. "Agh!"
"Shit!" Leith followed the sight but only as far as the edge of the structure he was perched on top of. "Raidramon?"
"Rrrrrngh...!" Raidramon could only groan in response to Leith's call. The drill attack pushed him as far as the very edge of the structure he was standing on, and only there did he manage to dig his claws in and stay above the water. Unfortunately, the Tamer was forced to watch as an uncomfortably large hole was made in the left side of Raidramon's armor... followed by the side of his true body. On contact, however, Raidramon's body surrounded itself with that same blue lightning, which then proceeded to flow into Arresterdramon. Would that convince him to break off the attack? Either way, luckily, Raidramon didn't need to hear the command from Leith to switch targets because he was too shocked to give it. "Electric bite!" he growled before trying to turn, pounce at the foe, and wrap his jaws around that dark ring as his teeth would electrify it on contact. That healing bubbled helped ease his pain just enough to focus on striking back at that dark ring, but it sure didn't seem to close that wound very efficiently.
Much as Leith wanted to cry for help, he knew the fastest way to end this was to stick to the plan and drop that tower. So he could only watch helplessly. Ah, God... what did you get us into? This combat suddenly seemed a lot more real when it was his own digimon that was the target... and possibly him next, he believed. Raidramon was hit by Arresterdramon's Tail Drill.Raidramon was healed by Cion's Bracing Respite. Raidramon's Static activated against Arresterdramon on contact. Raidramon attacked Arresterdramon with Blue Thunder.
Static (passive): As this digimon runs, it generates enough static electricity to deal moderate electric damage upon physical contact with an opponent. Only one use of Static may be charged and stored at a time. Passive charge time: 2 posts beginning upon initial evolution or after use.

Static must recharge: 2 posts remaining.

Any ideas? Tiki found it hard to come up with anything new. It seemed simple enough. Attack the tower, Arresterdramon's attention snapped at you. Attack Arresterdramon, the dark ring makes him simply shrug off the damage. It was a terrible combination and she despised it.
But still, it was all they could do to continue! By now, she could see some distinct cracks begin to form in the tower. All they had to do was to keep at it, and maybe, that would be enough to bring it down at last? The Ranamon kept close to the tower, but not too close as to risk getting struck by the attacks going toward it.
"He'll attack one of us next, Toki!" she advised, then raised her hands to aim a strike at the cursed edifice. "Water Bullet!" at once, strong water droplets shot from her hands and launched straight at the tower, hopefully damaging it further.
Arresterdramon meanwhile registered quite a lot of pain from attacking Raidramon. Not only was his body zapped by the residual static electricity, but Raidramon turned around to counter-attack his dark ring! The combination did elevated damage to him, but at a price. The ring's programming kicked in to defend the tower, and defend it he did... by launching his Tail Drill straight at Toki! Not only was it still spinning at high speed like a drill, but his extended tail still sparkled with residual electricity from Raidramon! If Toki didn't get out of the way, he'd be in for a lot of pain indeed.
Combat Log:
- Cion aims to heal Raidramon. - Toki attacks the control spire. - Tiki attacks the control spire with Water Bullet. - Arresterdramon is zapped by Static and Electric Bite (1.5x damage). - While electrified, Arresterdramon extends his still-spinning tail like a spear straight at Toki.
Tail-Drill: This digimon revs up it's tail and treats it as a drill for two posts. Dealing high piercing damage and ignoring armor for those two posts. Cool down of three posts. Duration: 2/2
Water Bullet: Forming droplets of water on her fingertips this digimon can shoot out small condensed bullets of water up to Thirty Feet away. Deals light damage.

The dark spire was already starting to break down into its fundamental components? Excellent! That meant the enslaved Arresterdramon was bound to be free in due time, as was securing the safety of the aquatic metropolis beneath her feet. More than that however Cion was looking forward to finally shed the weak, fragile form she currently found herself him - an echo of her past that was simply no longer useful. So much power she had accumulated... if only these fiendish structures did not inhibit it. Alas, there was no point in wailing. She and her allies had a task to accomplish.
With her partners attacking and distracting their targets, the tiny Arnamon grasped that the frenzied dragon's attacks remained focused on her friend Toki. Maintaining his might of a Raidramon, the silver fennec did not doubt his endurance and vigor. Yet as a companion of his, she felt obliged to support him to the best of her meager abilities. With a snap of her short talons, it was once again him who received her blessing of immediate healing, no matter how faint it was. "Gosh... I feel inapt." She bewailed under her breath, a sigh escaping her lips as she folded her arms to calmly observe the battle at hand.

He felt a bit awkward that Tiki responded to the question he was asking his spirit, but he supposed that made sense given that he spoke out loud. As he contemplated what to do next, he was caught off guard by the fact that Arresterdramon's tail was spiraling towards him despite it still wrestling with Raidramon. He didn't have time to jump out of the way, so he bit the bullet and attempted to catch the spinning, electrified tail "Rrgh!" he felt it spear into him and he let out a pained scream in response, though he still tried his best to grip onto it. So many thoughts came to mind as the force kept pushing him further and further from the point of impact. Run away. Push it away and run. Run!
But he couldn't just do that. He was hurting, but he could still fight. He planted the barrel of one of his guns against the side of its tail "I sure hope this hurts the tower more than it hurt me..." he chuckled weakly "Tremor...Rounds. Overheat!" he sidestepped slightly and fired a concussive burst against Arresterdramon's tail, hoping it still had enough velocity to send it crashing into the tower. He took care that the impact would be enough to just launch the tail and not directly damage Arresterdramon too much. Maybe it would even stall it enough for Raidramon to get to a better position.
Either way, he splashed against the water, pain coursing through his body. Another hit like that and he was done. He weakly stumbled up to his feet and grit his teeth "We will save you...I promise..." he staggered slightly, but kept close to the fight regardless of his injuries.

What? This attack pattern seemed completely irrational to Leith. Why would Arresterdramon change targets when Raidramon was both the more immediate threat and wounded? Come to think of it, he went for Raidramon when he wasn't a clear threat, too. That means- Raidramon looked ready to charge another bite between his fangs, but Leith managed to head him off. "Don't engage! He only attacks digimon attacking the tower! Hit the tower, take cover, and repeat! It's a pattern!" Leith considered shouting that to the rest of the battlefield, but then he figured, Shit, you know what? They've all done this before. They probably already knew. Thanks for keeping me in the loop, assholes. Of course, the young man couldn't be too angry with his companions, especially Cion. She's working on healing Raidramon? Great, now I owe her an apology and gratitude.
Raidramon obeyed. "Blue Thunder!" Again, a lightning bolt struck out at that spire, only this time Raidramon jumped off the edge and into the water after that. Good thing Leith and Raidramon took the precaution of diving kits earlier; Raidramon could go nice and deep, hopefully safe, for as long as he liked.
"How's that gash?"
"Not as bad as it looks and feeling better thanks to Cion." Leith sighed in relief. Raidramon was healed by Cion's Bracing Respite.Raidramon attacked the spire with Blue Thunder.

Tiki was glad that Cion was present at least. If she wasn't there, then these brave warriors would've had a much harder time. Every time they got hit by her cousin, she'd be there to ease their pain. She'd hate to think how this fight would've gone without her.
Then, oh no! Arresterdramon's tail hit Toki too quickly for him to dodge. "Oh no! Toki!" she gasped. She realized this was a spirit wielder - a human. If he fell in this battle... that'd be way worse than what would happen to a digimon.
But... to her relief, it didn't lance him through like she had feared. He had grabbed the drill tail, and seemed to be directing it at the tower. Yes! That should finally get rid of that evil thing!
Toki launched Arresterdramon's still spinning tail directly into the tower, causing immense damage and cracking to its structure. Tiki made a hopeful intake of breath. Was it enough?
No... not quite yet. The technique had bored a deep hole through the tower, but at least, it had done double the damage of a normal attack. The tower was still vulnerable though, so she had to continue to attack.
"Searing Bubble!" she cried, launching another boiling explosive water attack, directly at the hole gouged out, hoping she would find a weakness in it.
Then, in addition, Raidramon turned away from attacking Arresterdramon and aimed at the tower as well. It seemed like it was at its last vestige of strength. So much so, that as Raidramon's lightning strike hit it, Arresterdramon had a moment where the dark ring momentarily lost control.
"W-where am I?!" he gasped.
"Cuz! It's me! Tiki!" the Ranamon called. "You alright?! We've almost got you free here! Hang on! Fight it! All you can! The Dark Ring's making you do all sorts of horrible things!"
"Tiki?!" Arresterdramon repeated. "H-help me!" he cried as the Dark Ring resumed control. It seemed the Dark Tower was now in critical condition, and seemed to be making something happen with his power. And thus, the Arresterdramon yelled in pain as he was forced to use his energy for something against his will. He could feel it. All of his power was being used in this technique. He raised his arms as he flew in place. In the waters below, the ocean spun around the nearly broken tower. Then, all at once, with a roar from Arresterdramon, all of it burst up high into the sky, effectively forming a waterspout around the control spire. Anyone standing near it would be hurled around, lashed by the wind-blown water, and, unless they could fight hard enough, would be thrown down into the sea.
It seemed this was the Tower's last stand. Hopefully there could be those that remained that could finish it off.
Combat Log:
- Cion aims to heal Toki. - Toki successfully launches Arresterdramon's Tail-Drill into the tower before it stops (2x damage). - Tiki attacks the control spire with Searing Bubble - Raidramon strikes the tower. - Arresterdramon uses Hydro Vortex to create a tornado of water around the tower, attacking Tiki, Cion, Toki and Raidramon.
Hydro Vortex - Arresterdramon conjures a waterspout around the Control Spire, beginning with a whirlpool, then causing it to burst into the sky, sweeping everything in its path down into the sea unless they can effectively resist it. Causes major damage to all. [Can only be used once per thread].
Searing Bubble: This digimon launches a basketball sized projectile at a target. Upon contact it explodes, showering a small area with boiling hot water. Deals medium damage. one post cool down.

For what her contribution through healing was worth, at least watching the fight between good and evil was entertaining. Of course Cion did not take the situation at hand lightly, but given that she was incapable of truly interfering she gladly beheld the progress Toki had made since their first encounter in the desert. The lad had obviously improved in endurance, skill and power, though naturally there was still a lot he had to do to ascend to higher forms. Nonetheless, the brave spirit-wielder stood valiantly despite injuries, showing panache she desired to witness blossoming further.
As the clash proceeded, it appeared that the damage the dark spire suffered had an effect on the stability of its mental influence over Tiki's companion. Alas this did not last long, although it once again confirmed the fact that those under the vile force were not so voluntarily. Noticing the surge of water that dashed towards the fiendish structure to protect it from destruction, all the tiny fennec was capable of doing was to wait patiently and snap her fingers at the right time. Hopefully this endeavor was going to end in a few moments.

As the waters raged all around the party, Toki contemplated using his Meditation Cure ability to possibly withstand this attack. But what if he couldn't even with it? Arresterdramon was in so much pain, as was Tiki for having to watch her cousin suffer. This had to end now, regardless of what happened.
The waters threatened to sweep Toki into the ensuing vortex. It was do or die time. He weakly revved up his guns "Come on...come on...spin!!" until finally, they started to spin up rapidly. He smiled weakly "It's time. Cylinder...!" gusts of wind and dust fire into the water at his feet, pushing him upwards into the air momentarily "...Sandstorm!" he called out before aiming the air blast towards the tower, launching him backwards from the force.
Would it hit? Would it do enough damage? He struggled to keep his eyes open as all he could do was say "...I've given it all I got...I hope it was enough." he said before he crashed into the water below, data dispersing and leaving him back in his human form.
"And all you have got was enough, Toki. Rest for now." his spirit said to him.
Toki chuckled weakly as his body ached all over. He was floating on his back "You don't have to tell me...gotta stay awake for now, though and see how this all goes." he thankfully drifted away from the action, so he sat up, clutching his side as he watched what would happen next.

"Oh, God, no!" Leith ran straight to the edge if his structure nearest to Toki and called out to his ally, "Toki!" Though it was a first to him, he understood the significance of a spirit wielder reverting to human form: he was done... or worse. But despite the distance, Leith was able to catch him moving with intent, meaning he had to still be alive, at least. "Cion, Tiki, someone's gotta make sure he's OK!" he shouted desperately. Unfortunately, much as Leith would have rathered gone to check on Toki himself, he had another, more personal matter to worry about.
Raidramon. Where was he? All Leith knew was that he dove under the water before the water spout, and he had gone too deep to be seen by Leith between the color of the water and his own coloration. That meant Leith was completely unable to see Raidramon's struggle to swim against the current caused by the spout sucking in water, nor his unfortunate failure to escape. Despite swimming good and strong, he was no aquatic digimon; he couldn't get away.
Raidramon became trapped in the spout and was sucked down, getting battered by debris and disoriented by the spinning, not to mention how awful the salt water made his drill wound smart. Leith assumed Raidramon would surface if he could in order to attack that tower again, but even after the Arresterdramon's attack died down Raidramon didn't show himself. That meant, as far as the initiate Tamer could tell, Raidramon was incapacitated, and he was left alone above the surface staring down a mad champion digimon with nothing but a pair of rookies between Arresterdramon and himself.
Gulp. Leith started to hyperventilate.
Then, during the quiet, a lightning bolt shot at the tower from under the water that broke the surface, making Leith gasp and jump back. "Holy shit!" Raidramon was hit by Hydro Vortex.Raidramon was healed by Bracing Respite. Raidramon attacked the tower with Blue Thunder.

Toki's attack rushed into the side of the tower, the cracks around the deep hole caused by Arresterdramon's tail increasing in size. The tower was beginning to lean at an angle, but still, with a sliver of structural integrity left, it stayed standing.
All until the final thunderbolt struck, and, that was the end of it. The side of the tower crumbled, and the whole control spire split in two. Its top half fell like a tree, landing with an almighty splash in the water, causing a small wave to peak and trough around the party. It was finally destroyed!
Furthermore, the dark ring around Arresterdramon shattered along with the tower, making him gasp. Then all at once, the energy he had expended in the battle failed him. He glowed briefly, then shrunk in size, the glow fading to reveal that he had de-digivolved to Gumdramon.
No longer able to fly, the little dragon fell into the sea, his weighted tail seemingly dragging him to the bottom. However, a moment later, the surface of the water broke, and there was Tiki, holding the unconscious Gumdramon in her arms.
"You did it!" she cheered, glad that the nightmare was over. "But... your digimon, are you all alright?" Where was the Gargomon? And the Raidramon?
Combat Log: - Cion aims to heal Raidramon - Toki strikes the tower. - Raidramon strikes the tower. - The tower is destroyed. - The dark ring's power is gone, and Arresterdramon is no longer hostile. - Arresterdramon de-digivolves to Gumdramon.

Thankfully, due to her large distance to the crumbling dark spire, Cion was relatively unaffected by the hydro vortex the enslaved Arresterdramon had caused. Remaining at the plateau's edge still made her feel cold water rush past her feet, although it did not possess the thews nor velocity to sweep her away. And though it was with glee that the silver fennec beheld the vile architecture shatter into uncountable bits and bytes, a content smile was not gracing her muzzle. For that, her allies, among which was one friend, had sustained too much damage. Lightheartedness was hardly an appropriate stance to carry herself with under these circumstances.
Toki was floating on the ocean's surface, barely moving as he held onto his injuries. Raidramon was underwater while Leith remained save and sound. Fortunately, the freed dragon, now a Gumdramon, was protected in Tiki's grasp. Taking in a deep breath, the Arnamon nodded several times before calmly turning to the Ranamon. "Don't worry. I'll take care of them." She assured her as a brief flash of white light engulfed her frame. Rapidly digivolving, the sheen of data swiftly vanished, leaving behind a figure that resembled its Rookie form - however, it had a far more gracious appearance.
"Better..." She whispered as aureate irises lingered on exhausted and damaged companions. Distortions of reality manifested themselves around them in iridescent veils, pushing nearby liquids aside. Gently, at least those who were not struggling, her comrades were lifted into the air and slowly shifted towards her. Knowing them jaded, Cion's force of will likely embraced them with ease to relocate them in front of her. This included their client and her previously subjugated partner if they were so inclined. No matter, the restrained Arniomon eventually ceased her warm, spiritual touch as they reached a solid footing.
"Hold still, please." She requested her fosterlings as she snapped her fingers once. A surge of healing energy entered every present being, quickly filling them with vigor and vim. It exponentially exceeded the cure she was capable of casting as a Rookie, and everyone was affected simultaneously. A few seconds and the benevolent deed was done. Not waiting for nor expecting signs of appreciation, she folded her hands behind her back. Her face tilted to behold the empty spot where the black tower stood. How did it even get here?

The tower was finally crumbling into nothingness. There were few things that Toki viewed as objectively evil, but these things that take control of innocent Digimon to make them harm their friends and family...it was unforgivable. He was curious as to where they came from, who made them, and if they can even be tracked or stopped. They can. They have to be. If not, then he knew there were plenty of brave people willing to risk themselves to combat these threats. Taken a little off guard by suddenly being lifted away by Cion's power, he calmed down a bit as he realized that it was indeed her who was doing the moving. He winced slightly as he landed next to her. He smiled weakly "Looks like I might have pushed myself a little too far this time..." he said. When Cion's powerful healing ability activated in a wide area, Toki felt the pain of his injuries slowly begin to abate. Soon, he was able to stand up again "This...wow." he looked over his body. It was like the battle hadn't done anything. Still, he ached slightly, but it wasn't completely debilitating. "Thank you, Cion. You really saved us out there. Hopefully soon we'll be able to meet again under less tense situations." he said as he bowed his head in appreciation. He looked over in the same direction she was and sighed, a contemplative look on his face. It was indeed a mystery he wanted to solve as well, but at the moment he wanted to see how everyone else was doing. Whenever he saw Leith, he would approach and say "Hey...you did really well out there. It's scary though...I know it is, but know that you and Raidramon's actions will always be appreciated here. He's in good hands, by the way...he'll be just fine, okay?" he smiled, hoping to make Leith feel a bit better about the situation they got involved in "This isn't the kind of pursuit for everyone, so I understand if you want nothing to do with these towers anymore. But thank you for being here. I really mean that." with that, he would leave him so that Leith could check on Raidramon. Finally he would walk over to Tiki and kneel down next to her and Gumdramon "They're strong...but I can tell they have a good heart and amazing willpower. I'm sure I don't have to tell you, but take good care of them okay? If they feel any kind of guilt over this...reassure them that none of this was their fault and never will be." If Tiki would let him, he'd gently rub the top of Gumdramon's head "Guilt is a horrible thing. I'd hate for them to experience it."He stood up and looked out towards the horizon and the shimmering water. "It really is beautiful out here, isn't it?""That it is, Toki. You fought remarkably. Now...let us go home and rest. You've more than earned it. Do you think those books you ordered arrived yet? I would like to read them with you." there was a hint of excitement in the normally calm spirit's voice. Toki laughed "Maybe, maybe. I promise to read with you if they did."
