An Invitation [Plot Prelude/Cas]

Cassandra took the offered bottle of tea her clawed fingers shaking badly as she fumbled with the cap for a moment before finally breaking the seal. Taking a sip of it she closed her eyes and tried to center herself attempting to slow her breathing from the short shallow gasps she'd been taking and force her limbs back under her control once more. She was at Denryu's base. She was safe she could feel the stone floor beneath her feet, the weight of Cloak's hand rubbing soothing circles into her back. There was no snow. No ice. No blood. She was safe. Her partners were safe. Dagger slinking forward with concern clear in his golden eyes as he settled down beside her allowing his Tamer to lean into his side even as Cloak glanced over the report feature upon the screen.
"Tamer isolated and then removed by assisting group." He growled out gaze narrowing in fury which rolled off him like a dark cloud. "Such a diplomatic way of saying they left the woman that saved them for dead." The Dark Knightmon spat out derision and spite dripping from every syllable as he carefully removed his hand from Cas's shoulder lest she feel how much his hands trembled with rage. Trusting his twin enough to see to their Tamer in her distress under his own watchful gaze.
"They're right though. Even if Luminas believes you dead it's clear someone has been digging through this information. Eventually whoever they are are going to come looking." Dagger murmured softly eyes dark with concern as Cas took another sip of the tea opening crimson eyes to give Emma a shallow, but grateful nod. Her movements still stiff and mechanical, but some of the detachment had faded a touch from her eyes.
"I hate loose ends." The Doctor spoke glancing over the report herself for the first time with a sharp and critical gaze as if in dissecting the vandalized information she could somehow sink her own scalpels into the culprit.
"Before your assistance there was a seventy-five percent success rate for purifying the Hunter. I believe with your teams technical skills and my medical knowledge the success rate has increased to within ninety-five percent. Not having the Hunter is not an option. There is another party interested in the statues that had previously acquired mercenaries under the guise of a competition to attack the Luminas contingent in order to gain their locator stones and ascertain the statues location for themselves." Cassandra summarized as she turned to her D-terminal to crunch the numbers as well as pull up the scans and recordings she had in her possession from Zaku's cams.
"We can expect they may attempt to take advantage of any complications we may have to snatch the statue from beneath us." The Doctor explained tapping through the video file to play back Ken's explanation under interrogation.

Of course, it took Cassandra a few moments to settle back down - though Denryu and Emma had revealed something they hadn't, up until they showed the file. Yes, Luminas had the information, and yes, some other party had been digging into the information...
... But just how did Denryu and Emma get a hold of a copy of this file in the first place? Though they weren't asked, they didn't seem quick to offer that critical bit of information. Perhaps just the fact that they would share what they knew was more important than the method, or perhaps that avenue just hadn't been thought through yet. Whatever the case, Denryu couldn't help but nod at that last bit: "I agree, loose ends are just problematic question marks."
Right now, Cassandra was motivated. They needed Hunter as another ally, and she seemed quite intent on getting that job done. "Well, then, maybe we should get started?" Stretching out her arms - not even reaching for her D-Terminal - the light of Emma's device gave a faint pulse. A moment later, assuming that same pose, a Mercurymon took the girl's place. She gave a nod, her faceless head turning towards Cloak and Dagger. "You're free to stay down here as you wish, though this may take a while. If you'd like to get to know the rest of our allies - Denryu's partners - then they'll be in the practice range out back."
As for the statue being stolen from underneath them? Still tapping at his console, Denryu gave a shrug. "That would be why I'd prefer Dreadnaught outside, rather than inside. Not much will mess with a warship..."

"Yes. I would like that." Cassandra murmured with a clipped nod of acceptance towards Emma only batting an eye briefly at the other woman's other evolution before she spun on her heel and moved towards the medical equipment. Carefully she unloaded the dialysis machine and set it up opening up the panels to inspect the modifications she had made even as she waved Emma closer.
Dagger would turn at Denryu's off cocking his head slightly to the side as his Tamer ambled off. "I think I'd like to meet the others." The Duramon decided pausing to give his twin a nod before he too departed leaving only the Dark Knightmon behind as Cloak took Cassandra's place by the monitor peering at the information displayed there over Denryu's shoulder. While his gaze remained riveted to the screen the General would have the distinct feeling the Ultimate Digimon was....inspecting him.
"How did you come by this information?" Cloak inquired in a low dark rumble keeping his volume soft so as to not alert or disturb the Doctor as she set about showing Emma how the machine would work and what modifications needed to be made.
"I've designed this to be able to filter both human blood and digimon data. It so far has a two fold filtration method, but I would like to add a third. Currently we set up two IV's one to draw the blood and data and one to put the clean blood and data back in. As the blood and data flows through the machine it'll be sectioned off and mixed with a toxin that will absorb the D-virus before being filtered through a second filter that will allow the blood alone to pass though, but not the toxin taking with it the D-virus. I'd like to modify it with a firewall chip to act as a third filter for both data and data contaminated blood if possible to dispose of trash data or contaminated data into thumb drives for disposal. I however lack the technical abilities to do this." The Doctor explained pointing out the various parts and guts of the machine and where she would like to install what.
"As it stands the machine is likely capable of removing ninety percent of the D-virus in most patients if not one hundred percent, but for more sensitive cases the firewall chip could ensure full purification." Cassandra summarized pausing as she waited to hear Emma's thoughts on the matter.

"This way, then." The Renamon gave a nod, the Xros'd Digimon leading the Duramon upstairs. This left Denryu with Cloak, as well as Emma with Cassandra.
Denryu, taking a brief glance over his shoulder, actually moved a bit aside, allowing the Dark Knightmon easier access to see what was onscreen. He would see what the general had been working on for the past several days: a map of the desert, overlaid with a grid to take into account the 'drift' that would have occurred over several months. It looked as if the starting point involved an ancient, buried temple, far lost to the sands of time. At the ultimate's question, the general's reply was quick:
"One of my partners is a Knightmon, and his twin brother is quite intimate with how Luminas operates. Its not difficult for us to obtain files when we need them - all he has to do is play the act and we can get a photo of anything we want. Though with the most recent breach, that might become a little trickier..."
Emma, having helped to set up the machine, listened intently to Cassandra's idea for a third filter. "So rather than clog up the machine with inevitable buildup, you'd rather filter out the remaining marked data? A bit tricky in its own right... for the first two steps you only really need to be in the 95th percentile, but the last needs to be in the 99th, if not better." Mulling it over in her head, she gave a shrug. "I can run it, but not simultaneously with the other systems. To do so risks overheating the storage server."
Still, so long as the first two systems were operational, then they could simply filter out the rest without a patient attached, right? Drawing the machine together, the Mercurymon mulled that last thought over. "Well, thankfully, Hunter's not a sensitive case. Outright resistant to the D-Reaper, if we're reading her right. Let's see... I think we're ready to try and run a test with saline, just so we can see if it converts properly."
As the discussions continued below, the Renamon led Dagger out towards the back, towards a flattened-out dirt ring that had been made simply for the purpose of practice. Already there was a Knightmon and a Devidramon, both returning a light wave towards the Renamon as they stepped on in. "Well, here we are. All seven of us."
Seven? But it was only the three there - ah, right. Stretching out her arms, the metallic piece across the Renamon's back freed itself, the fox gently pushing the rapier off to the side. From two flashes of light, the Mailbirdramon and BladeKuwagamon made themselves known. Similarly, Devidramon removed his helmet, a phantasmal energy trailing and leaving his claws. As the metallic tint left the Devidramon, a Kokuwamon and Bakemon, the last one likely familiar, made their appearance.
"Honestly, we all just go by 'Renamon' and such... but as for our code names?" In the same order they appeared, they introduced themselves, the Renamon, Mailbirdramon, and Bladekuwagamon starting:
"Angel." "Falcon." "Blade."
Followed by the Devidramon, Kokuwamon, and Bakemon:
"Devil." "Volt!" "Phantom."
And lastly, the Knightmon gave a bow: "Raider."
The introductions, of course, were a bit brief-yet-lengthy, 'Angel' giving a nod towards Dagger. "Sorry if its a bit overwhelming, all at once. And no, we're not expecting you to keep track of all of this - at least not on your first try."[/color

"Luminas has long been a thorn in my side." The Dark Knightmon rumbled out softly watching the General make his calculations with a contemplative gaze. He had little doubt now as before that others had likely gotten their hands on the report as well. Still there was not much to be done for it at the moment as Cloak settled his hands lightly behind his back his stance a militant if relaxed one.
"They take and take believing all they lay eyes upon is theirs by divine right. They've never particularly cared who they harm in the process. Not when to them the ends will ever justify the means." Cloak mused darkly before shaking his head as if the gesture alone would ward off the memories before giving Denryu a considering look.
"Thank you by the way. This is..." The Dark Knightmon trailed off with a glance towards his Tamer, "This is the happiest I've seen her in a long while."
"True a secondary system should be able with sensitive cases to remove the last lingering data traces that may remain in a patient. Likewise keeping it fully separate would be wise to prevent cross-contamination if something were to go wrong. The D-Dialysis machine however should be able to fully remove the D-virus from less sensitive cases such as the Hunter." Cassandra mused in clipped tones her concentration clearly more on the machine then the conversation at hand though she would glance up at Emma at the mention of a saline test. Nodding her agreement as she slid one of the blue vials into place for a test run to ensure both filters were operation.
Once that was done she moved towards the rest of the equipment returning with one saline IV bag and an empty IV bag. Carefully hooking one to the intake IV and the other the outtake IV for the Dialysis machine.
"Typically both IV's would be hooked into the same patient though in different veins, but for a test run we need to ensure the saline returns clean with no traces of the poison. If it is a success we can move on to testing it with blood and data samples. Then D-virus contaminated blood and data samples before we operate on the Hunter herself." The Doctor elaborated her tone a little less flat and mechanical even as she pulled up a blank document on her D-terminal in order to take notes on the test before starting the machine.
"I'll pick up your names fast enough." The Duramon murmured offering each of the Digimon a nod of greeting in turn as she seemed to be doing the best he could to memorized their names and faces.
"I'm Dagger by the way. Big, Dark, and Scary downstairs is my twin Cloak though you're unlikely to see him far from our Tamer he...he worries bout her." Dagger introduced himself letting out a light shrug in regards to his siblings concern though his own worry shown in his gold eyes for a brief moment before he offered the rest of the group a fanged smile.
"I understand the issue of being grouped together. I'm a weapon type so at times it's not unusual for strangers to assume I'm just an accessory." He quipped with a rough chuckle.

Well, it seemed that Cloak had a bit of personal blood on the matter, didn't he? Despite his tone, Denryu didn't waver in his work, the process of verifying the math that rolled by the screen paired with both constant clicks on the keyboard and careful drags of the mouse. Though Cloak showed frustration, Denryu's expression remained neutral - in fact, in a fairly casual tone, he submitted his own response:
"For the land they have control of, Luminas is very efficient." The claim hung in the air for just a moment: "If nothing else, I can say their systems are reliable, inasmuch as their attempts to get things done. Its just a shame that their talent is one born of their own prejudice."
That was... surprisingly deep, considering his neutral tone. As for the second comment, Denryu gave a nod: "Of course. This world does a lot to try and wrest control from our hands. Having a goal to strive for makes everything else far more tolerable."
"The number of patients we could treat with a secondary system might be remarkably limited - but an option nonetheless." Still, Hunter likely wouldn't need that secondary case - and Cassandra seemed to be beyond such methods anyway.
In short order, the trial was set up, Mercurymon helping to set the 'tech' into place as Cassandra inserted the poison into that bag of saline. Ensuring that everything was running within proper range, the Mercurymon set one USB drive into the back. This system definitely had a more 'analog' function in the human world, but with the current altercations as it was?
"If possible, we'd prefer the data filter in through these. Should this test fail, we can go back through physical matters - but this form will help both analysis, storage, and safe removal of the 'poison'." With little else to say, they would soon start the machine - the blue-tinted Saline pulling right through the filtration system. Though, this was perhaps too simple: clear saline slipped cleanly out of the other side, and the simple poison's data loaded right into that drive without issue.
"Well, we're at the point where we've passed tenth grade chemistry." Setting that drive off to the side. It seemed like they would need to take it a step further. "Hm... your blood might be tricky, but certainly its not hard to manufacture the data the same way Renamon did earlier..."
"Trust me, it took us a while to pick them up as it is." With everyone separated, the 'arena' became far more crowded than it seemed just a few moments prior - and Dagger's own introduction earned a nod from a few, Raider giving a chuckle. "The loyal type, then? He and my brother would get right along."
"Er, since when are you one to talk?" The Kokuwamon scratched the back of his head - but the conversation moved along quite nicely. It seemed Dagger knew what it was like to be an accessory - though at the word 'weapon type', Angel's ears gave a flick. "Hm? You mean you can take a form as a sword?"
"Oh, boy..." Blade's voice radiated out, as the Renamon simply asked: "A bit forward, I know, but can I give it a try?" If the answer was affirmative, she'd give a nod to both the MailBirdramon and the Kokuwamon: immediately upon taking the BladeKuwagamon in her hand, the form would turn back to that of a rapier, one that Angel quickly sheathed at her side. As those wings affixed to her back, and faded out, the fox would crack her neck, her data signal now matching that of an ultimate.
"You likely won't add as much as a Xros Component would, but its been way too long since I've had another 'piece' to try."

"A pity indeed." Cloak mused allowing the pair to lapse into silence once more.
Cassandra watched the machine run letting out a pleased hum when the saline filtered back into the bag clear. Though she took a moment to take a sample and run it through to ensure that it was not only visually clear, but actually clean of the poison.
"My own blood would likely complicate matters. However I came prepared with infected data samples for just this purpose." Cassandra explained moving back to the equipment to pull a small vial from where it was stored in a small solar and battery charged cooler.
"I have three of them to run through. This one was taken from a Orochimon with just below medium level infection. I have another one taken from an infected armor egg, and a third which is from myself before my condition evolved which contains both D-virus and data infection. I likewise have a sample from a bio-merge D-reaper agent, but we'll run it last." Cassandra explained carefully unhooking and disposing of the saline before hooking up the first Orochimon sample.
"Don't worry." She adds. "I have multiple vials of this sample." Cassandra explains before switching on the machine.
"Our Tamer's been through a rough patch of late. Unfortunately when it first started there wasn't much we could really do about it. She got hurt protecting us and well...I don't think he's ever really forgiven himself for that." Dagger explained unsure how best to word it, but giving Raider a nod and a slim smile before her turned his attention fully to Angel. Cocking his head to one side the Duramon seemed to consider it before shrugging.
"I don't mind. I doubt it'll be as powerful given we don't share a digital core, but I've been told I'm one of the more dangerous weapons." The golden Digimon added with a confident fanged grin before his form began to glow and shift. In a flash of light his appearance warped leaving a gleaming golden longsword in his place which dropped to the ground the tip of which cutting in and lodging into the stone as though it were butter instead of rock. An ornate 20 decorating the flat of the blade near the hilt.

Thankfully, it would be as Cassandra hoped: within a 99% certainty, the poison had been completely removed from the sample. Still, Emma's point remained that this was little more than priming the machine for what it was supposed to do. If the machine had failed at this level, all signs would have pointed to a manufacturer's defect or a mistake in construction.
Without foresight, that would have left them without samples - but Cassandra was more than prepared for this. Seeing the vial presented by the doctor, the Mercurymon gave a short nod, and started to prepare the machine for its second trial. "That vendetta's making you quite efficient." With the tone of a cautionary observer, the spirit would start the test...
... And this time, the dialysis took far longer to compensate for the impurities in the Orochimon's data. An installed temperature gauge revealed that whatever reaction was occurring was starting to exceed the acceptable range, though the USB filter was operating normally. "Hm... the D-Reaper's always had a bit of a fussy temperature. It would make sense that an outward reaction would release it..." Purified data started pouring out into the other bag, but after only a third of the transfer, Emma killed the power - forcing the rest through without filtration. "I'll get this updated so its on 'ice'."
"That so..." Rough note, right off the bat, huh? Honestly, it sounded like the Knightmon even regretting asking the question, Angel giving a shrug. "We all got our own to deal with. Honestly, right now, it sounds like he's right where he needs to be."
A somber thought - though this next part would help brighten the mood a little bit. The fox looked on as Dagger took that form - a powerful golden blade, sinking right into a stony outcropping. Demon, in the background, couldn't help but snort: "Playing to the Excalibur story, there?"
"Oh, hush." Stepping up, Angel took her hand around the hilt, giving a careful but quick pull to free the blade from its stone, adjusting her grip as she tested for the Twenty Sword's center of gravity. "Lighter than I imagined... so if I had a shield in my offhand..."
Leading with her left foot, the Renamon took a practiced stance, quickly figuring out a proper distribution for her weight given the feel of the sword. A single practice swing whistled efficiently through the air, the fox muttering with the second:
"Enhance..."
Across the sharp edge of the blade, a strong electrical current was drawn forth - and a wide, horizontal swing let out a powerful, electric arc of energy. Despite its form, the blast still managed to cleanly cut through that same rock as before, before 'snapping' with a powerful crack in the distance. At that, Angel gave a small grin.
"Oh, that felt about right."

"I've always been efficient. I've simply never had a reason to weaponize my efficiency before. Though vendetta is perhaps too strong of a term. The D-reaper is currently a threat like any plague. It is the place of medical professionals to deal with such threats." The Doctor murmur jotting down what she observed of the reaction as she let out a pleased hum as the data came through pure. The noise only slightly off-key as if her vocal cords couldn't quite handle making such a sound just yet as she lightly tapped the thermometer noting down the rate of temperature rise compared to the amount of sample processed.
"Yes I believe a cooling system should mitigate some of the exothermic reaction. I'll process the filtered data to see if there's any degeneration or variation to it's structure besides simply rendering it free of the D-virus." Cassandra mused pausing as she took the pure sample to be run through her equipment.
"Perhaps adding heat resistant wrap to the more delicate wires would help protect them as well." She added tossing the idea out for the much more technical Emma to see if it held merit her tone neutral.
The Twenty-sword was indeed light in the hand the blade sharp and well balanced and as Angel grew more attuned to it she'd feel the power of the blade welling up. Increasing her strength and doubling her power. The edge of the weapon gleaming with a wicked sharpness and a light all it's own. Though Angel would notice that the more her attacks landed the stronger the attacks became so long as they were chained together one after the other.

At the very least, the sample that Cassandra pulled would be pure of the virus. Emma, giving a glance in Cassandra's direction with her faceless expression, gave a small shrug: "Let's cut the difference and just call it 'motivated', then." No point arguing over semantics so small, but this machine was already on the right track.
A cooling system was fairly obvious, but as Cassandra would move to run the test, Emma gave a short shake of her head at the suggestion to further insulate the wires. "Given that some of our process is already rooted in data conversion, the source of the heat is from the fire itself. It'll be a matter of using a proper coolant - and a powerful enough fan to vent away the worst of the heat." Well, as far as technology went, Emma definitely had a better hand in that department - so for the next while, she would work with the doctor to properly revise the system...
Angel, meanwhile, quickly found herself getting used to the weapon in her hands. The Twenty Sword was a powerful blade in its own right, but Dagger would quickly realize that he was in the grip of someone more-or-less as capable as Cloak. After a slightly rough start, once she was used to his 'balance', there was not a single wasted movement in her step. Gone was the pretense of 'pretending to have a shield', the fox easily adapting her swift style with this conjured weapon. Even their 'data' seemed in sync, every burst of electricity easily flowing right through the weapon with little issue - a 'silent conversation' held between the two.
Despite fighting a 'shadow', as it were, every move felt like it had purpose - and it was a good few minutes before the fox would finally catch her breath. Slowly, Angel would lower the weapon, examining the blade - earning a remark from the peanut gallery:
"Don't get too attached, there."
"Oh, enough out of you." With a huff - and carefully setting the blade down, the Renamon would give a step back. "Though I have to admit, that's more than what I was expecting. There's quite a few who would be eager to get their hands on you..."
The second test, as it finally rolled around, proceeded much smoother than the first: with the addition of a stronger fan, and a careful amount of dry ice set against the more 'heated' section of the set-up, the purification of the data proceeded much more smoothly - and this sample would even find its data integrity far more in-tact than the first.
"A bit makeshift, but it shouldn't be hard to make this into a more stable rig..."

"The first data proved pure, but suffered some minor degeneration. I suspect due to the heat and lack of completion." The Doctor explaining once she finished running the sample. The second sample however would prove far superior as the woman let out another off-key pleased hum as she bent over the microscope examining it.
"Makeshift or not given the tests I declare the second sample a perfect result. It's clean of the D-virus and only suffered minor wear that can easily be repaired by the hosts own body." Cassandra explained straightening once more eyeing their combined work with something akin to pride.
"I suspect with a more streamlined cooling system we should be able to fully purge a single digimon without worry of overheating or issue so long as they're not a fully agent. Further tests will help us confirm how it handles more advanced and complicated stages of infection." The Doc mused coldly content with the rate of their work and progress.
Meanwhile Dagger found he was enjoying himself. In the hands of a skilled wielder the Twenty blade was a powerful and dangerous weapon and as Angel finished her test she'd find the sword glowing in her hands as the Duramon reappeared not mere feet away from her with an amused grin. "Thank you. However I'm hardly any less of a weapon in this form. I choose who wields me." He quipped taking a slight step back to allow the Renamon her space offering her a respectful nod and a rueful smile.
"Though I find most fighters do not like a sword with agency of it's own." He adds with a low chuckle.

"I'd be surprised that we've gotten this far - but I suppose if one is still able-bodied enough to be able to restrain themselves for the procedure, purification itself shouldn't be too difficult. Still, I wouldn't assume that we've seen every 'strain' of infection yet." To be complacent and assume that this would work even in all benign cases would be a folly - but at the very least, they were able to separate out the infected data from a 'living' sample. If this could be recreated in the Meicoomon, they would be on a very nice lead to finding a foolproof method.
As it stood for the moment, though, the system as it was wasn't all that stable. "I'll draft up designs for a proper case to keep the system cool as a whole. Shouldn't take long, just something we got to get the ruler out for." Carefully pulling the dry ice away from the unit - and briefly checking the system for damage - the Mercurymon giving a brief hum of her own.
"Been a while since I've had a project like this. Feels refreshing to make something that's not related to aerodynamics." A bit of an aside, but considering how long the two had been at this, a bit of idle chat was going to get through!
And yes, Angel was enjoying herself just as much. Seeing the Duramon once more take his shape - and give that comment - the Renamon gave a slight chuckle. "By that right, the rest of us standing here are weapons as well. Though in your sense I suppose its a bit more 'literal'."
The second part was a bit more curious, at least spoken in this company. "Honestly, you're looking at quite a few exceptions here. Even half our armor and equipment has a mind of its own." Case-in-point, both Blade and Falcon separated from the fox, the Renamon's data signal slipping back to that of a mere rookie.
"Right - please remember the blade that you have to use every day, Angel." The BladeKuwagamon growled, a frustrated ring singing through its metal.
"Oh, c'mon, Blade. Let the fox have her fling." Falcon's comment earned a bit of a flush look from the fox, Angel giving a half-swing back at that engine!
"Tch." The Renamon relented, turning her attention back towards Dagger. "Well, at least its good to know your 'feel'. Never know when this kind of thing might become necessary..."
Or, 'preferred'. Though the fox left that last word out.

"Of course." The Doctor murmured putting aside the clean sample for now back in the cold storage as she turned towards Emma once more. "That is why I brought multiple different samples for a wide range of testing before we move on to the likes of a living test subject like the Hunter." Cas explained her voice clipped and muted with it's usual mechanical tone, but there was the dull gleam of excitement within the woman's eyes as she worked and calculated and prepped. Finding herself nodding in agreement alongside Emma.
"I like building. It's too easy to destroy." She spoke the words strangely ringing true as the Doctor continued setting up her workspace while Emma took the measurements she needed. "It is...nice to see progress. However small."
Meanwhile Dagger couldn't help a low rumbling chuckle his gold eyes bright at Blade's words as he offered Angel's usual weapon a placating smile. "The bond between a warrior and their weapon is sacred. I highly doubt I could so easily replace you." The Duramon assured him though the fact he could switch between both a weapon and digital form that was admittedly easy on the eyes didn't hurt.
"Though I suppose your right. We haven't met many Xros Generals before so I'm used to being the only sentient weapon around. Typically those who try to disarm my brother of me find they don't like handing a sword that fights back." He adds with a fanged smile recalling a few times their enemies hand tried to use him against his team only to learn he was a double edged blade in that manner.

Unfortunately, Rome wasn't built in a day, and the scientific process was going to take more than a few trial runs to get going. Emma and Cassandra were fully aware of this fact, and went through the paces: trial runs, updated blueprints, more tests, more revisions, frustrated blockings and breakthroughs were all part of the process. On the outside, things would proceed just as well, Angel and the rest showing Dagger a few of their own combinations, both out of curiosity and to get a better idea of how the whole group could work as a unit.
The whole agenda would span over the entire day - so long that they even had to take a break for dinner, Cassandra and the rest perhaps learning just how rowdy it could be to try to cook and organize food for twelve different individuals (Knightmon and Kokuwamon being the chefs of the group)! Past that - and Angel practically silent as she sat next to Dagger - the tests themselves would finally reach a stable point.
All that was left now, was to try this on their 'live' subject. For this, Denryu joined both the Mercurymon and the Doctor, cautiously unplugging the red chip from the firewall server. He gave a nod to Cloak - along with Mercurymon, someone on-hand who could take Hunter down - and slid the chip into the Xros Loader.
"Materialize, Component Eight."
A red light burst from the Digivice - and in Cassandra's presence, the shape of a Meicoomon quickly appeared, data wrapping cleanly around a wireframe. Once she was 'fully' present, the cat gave a brief look over her arms, tail flicking behind, before her gaze locked onto the doctor.
This wasn't her woods - just where had she been for the past age? Cassandra looked to be the only 'familiar' one here. "... Where is this?" Her first question was decidedly neutral - and perhaps surprisingly, the Meicoomon didn't seem overly aggressive!

Angel wasn't the only quiet one though certainly the only one uncharacteristically so. The Doctor herself sat next to Emma or tried to in order to discuss their work only to find the woman getting up with an excuse saying something about how she needed to run grab something or another before nudging her brother to take the empty chair lest the Doctor be lonely. Truthfully neither Cassandra nor Denryu spoke much, the Doctor eating one or two bites of food at most before passing her plate over to a rather concerned Cloak who took it without comment scraping the rest of the food onto his own plate to continue his meal. Leaving the woman and general to share a few quiet comments through the meal. Despite that the Doctor seemed almost...at home. Their voices washing over her in a comforting deluge of background noise drowning out the silence that seemed to stalk her every step.
Progress though was their true reason for being here and progress was slowly made till finally they were ready for a live test subject. To the Doctors surprise the Hunter appeared almost unchanged. Her appearance no different from the last time she'd seen the Meicoomon though the woman herself had evolved drastically since that mission that now felt so long ago. Blinking gleaming crimson eyes down at the little feline Digimon the woman spoke. "You are in the base of Team Metal Drive. An isolated containment room to be exact." The Doctor explained her tone flat and mechanical as before. The little bits of emotion that had gradually begun to filter into her tone falling away faced with an old enemy. Though perhaps if the Hunter was willing to comply she need no longer be such.
"If you cooperate however, no harm will come to you." She added jotting down a note of the infected Digimon's current appearance and mental state. She at least seemed surprisingly lucid.
