meeting grounds [rookies, rules in post]

Post by Ry Napraleon on Jul 21, 2018 7:48:04 GMT
Hi all! We were all just talking in the chat and thought it would be cool to have a Rookie-only megathread! To make it easier, we'll have a few rules:
1. This thread is open to absolutely everyone, you don't have to ask my permission, just jump in! 2. As this is meant to be a Rookie-only thread, please only stay in your Rookie forms even if you have the posts to reach higher forms, let's have everyone on equal grounds! 3. No post order, so people don't get locked up, but please still be courteous to each other! I won't spirit evolve either until I hit the 2/2 in my profile and hunt for my spirit, but everyone else is welcome to do whatever they want in their Rookie forms! Have fun all :)
Ry whistled a cheerful tune as he hiked his way up the hill, and smiled to himself once he reached the peak. Though it wasn't windy earlier, a slight breeze had picked up during his journey up, and it certainly made his hike easier as it was just enough to cool him off.
He continued whistling as he settled himself down on the soft, green grass of the Mainframe Hills. From here, he could see so much of the Digital World, the world he was so unfamiliar with yet a world he found so exciting. It was so different from his own world, so much more adrenaline, so much more potential.
So much more power.
He couldn't help but grin even wider. Even though he didn't have such power now, he knew that he would be able to find it in this world. One way or another, he would find it, and just coming to this world was the first step towards it.
And now he had to figure out just how he could find that, which was why he came all the way up here. He thought that perhaps getting himself on higher ground could help, and whilst he can see more of the Digital World this way, the different forests and lakes and cities he could see from up there only made him even more confused. They all look so different, yet at the same time so alike.
He huffed, what should he do now?

The trip through a real strange world continued, and took it's course into the Mainframe Hills. And once more? Anzu had actually run off ahead, flying up and up ahead of her tamer without care of any sort of consequences. And since there were no bushes? Nothing could actually stop her!
Except like that one time in the woods there was a human here and she had no idea who it was but she knew that it did not look like an alien in the slightest like the last one so hey who'da thunk it time to go say hi.
"Hi, whatcha doing?" If Ry dared look at the voice, he'd find...
One purple little creature that we call a Tsukaimon.

-Such a wide... enormous world... -Katherine voice could me heard, mumbling behind Jazz. -So vast and beautiful... -The girl continued, as she and Jazz went down the last green, grassy hill and started going up the next one. -So many places to go and digimon to meet... -Jazz frowned, beginning to change her expression to a rather uncomfortable face. -But also, so difficult... -The girl kept making short pauses as she spoke. -TO FIND THOSE DAMN GEMS!!! -She raised her voice, on a winy tone.
-SHUT UP ALREADY! -Jazz yelled to the brunette, holding an angry face. -We don't have any lead on where the next Zoid Gem might be... -The bunny's expression changed to a worried one, sighing after her sentence. -We've been on the Norther Prominence and the Southern Tropics already, where we found 1 and 2 gems respectively. -She began explaining. -Logic says, if they're spread around the Digital World, there should be at least one here, on the Eastern Timberlands, and even maybe even one back at the Western Flatlands, that's where Rustport is, where you appeared. -The bunny added.
-But we can't be sure we didn't leave one behind back at any of the places we've already been. -The girl stated, on a sad tone. -You're right... -Jazz sighed. -In any case, we should look for a city right now, that's were all the rumor's networks combine, and we may get somewhere. -Sometimes in the partnership, Jazz was the one that was needed to think positively and drag Katherine out of 'pessimism valley'. The girl's eyes widened, at the sight of a human, over the top of a hill. -Jazz! That's a human! Let's go! -She said, running uphill towards the male figure. Jazz, who felt too lazy to run, just hopped on the brunette's head. Upon arriving, the girl managed to see a lonely blonde boy sitting on the grass, calmly, and she began introductions.
-Hi there! My name is... -Before finishing up her sentence, the girl noticed a round, flying figure next to the guy. Even if it was hard to tell at first, then, there was no doubt on the girl's mind. -T-TSUKAIMON!? -She yelled pointing at the creature with her index finger, with an horrified expression on her face. Flashbacks of that afternoon back in Shibuya, with Talia's twin fighting the Tsukaimon brothers came to her head.
-Shut up. -Jazz, above the brunette's head, said on a flat tone. -This one has nothing to do with the trio of Tsukaimon that you encountered on the real world, according to that story you told me. -The bunny sighed. -I shouldn't have to tell you this again. You already know that there are different digimon species and the fact that this is, in fact, a Tsukaimon, doesn't mean is the same as any Tsukaimon you've seen before. -She explained.
Katherine, trying to mop the scared expression out of her face, continued the introduction, apologizing for her attitude. -I'm sorry! -She apologized, sticking her tongue out a little, and scratching the back of her head. -As I was saying, my name is Katherine, Katherine Jasso. And this is my partner, Jazz the Lopmon. -The girl then raised her eyes. -Whom I don't know why is still in my head! -The girl added on an angry tone. -You know my legs are too short, so I didn't feel like going up that hill. -The bunny yawned.

"Oh shi-" Ry exclaimed, the voice catching him off-guard. He looked frantically around, until his sights set on... a flying purple ball? "Are you a flying guinea pig?"
Almost immediately after that, he heard the rustling of footsteps through the previously undisturbed grass, and swiveled around to see what seemed like a human being with a bunny on the top of her head. He smiled, finally, another person here and not just a digimon!
After what seemed like mild confusion between the rabbit and her Tamer, he coughed slightly to grab the attention of the pair, "It's very nice to meet you! I'm Ry, and very new here to the Digital World," He looked up and down the pair, from the rabbit and back to the human, "I suppose you guys have been here in the Digital World for quite a while then?"
He glanced at the Tsukaimon as well, to acknowledge his presence as well instead of just blatantly ignoring him, and asked all three of them, "Do you guys know where I can find a partner in this world?"

Ry had asked a very obvious question with a very, very obvious answer. "HELL YEAH, MOTHERFU-" before she was cut off by the footsteps of something else. A person and her own Digimon. "Oh. Well, yeah, I'm a Tsukaimon. Uh. You probably encountered different ones that aren't as fu-" Anzu began.
"Shuuuut up." And then Anzu got cut off again by yet another person entering the scene, Akemi Amaya but incredibly sweaty because she had to hike herself up the hill and as such was looking a bit peeved. "As I was saying not every Tsukaimon's the same but like...yeah I'm real sorry you met the dinguses of my kind. ANYWAYS. I'm Anzu and my buddy over there's Akemi, and I have no idea how any of this partner stuff works! IT JUST DOES! GYAHAHA!"
Akemi just...had zero words for things right now, she was just giving a deadpan stare.

“You think he’s gone?” Roaring accompanied by the ground shaking answered that for the gallant three as they looked back to see the furious Golemon trudging after them at at a rather quick pace for a creature who looked slow and awkward from the outside. “Why he’s so mad anyway! It’s not like we could tell he wasn’t just a plain rock.” It was supposed to have been a resting place for herself and the twins until said boulder had moved and revealed itself to be a disturbed digimon instead. “Golemon are very sensitive about being mistaken for objects, they find it demeaning-” Welp, thanks for the social justice lesson no one had asked for Tohru! “Sis, can we save the ethics lesson for later before we get crushed?!”
Their savior that day was a hollowed out tree which provided temporary shelter from the rock beast, who smelled and glanced around searching for the trio in a somewhat dimwitted manner, and it was his overglazed, empty facial expression that gave the blonde a great idea for how to get out of this situation. “Simba, can you get me that basket? I think it’s time we distracted our friend.” Both of them picked up on her hint, protesting that it was their lunch before the woman quietly that they wouldn’t be in one piece to eat lunch if this got its way, as she slowly crawled out of the tree hollow with the pork cutlet in hand. “Here boy, tasty meat.” She threw it as hard as she could past the digimons line of sight, with the new scent pulling him away from his target to investigate the new arrival. “Attacker is distracted, abort!”
The three of them high fived once they were clear, doing a bit of happy dance to celebrate the fact they weren’t subjected to be rock food that day. “Gallant three 1, rock dummy 0! Now how about celebrating with that lunch? Hand it over Simba!” The thing was, the dragon was feeling a bit playful, perhaps from all of the energy gained from the adrenaline rush of that earlier situation - that or he felt up to messing with Tohru. “Only if you can catch me first!” He ran ahead of the others, taking advantage of the fact he had four legs and they had two - that was until he came upon the gathered others, and the shy dragon panicked, overwhelmed by the amount of strangers, and immediately scrambled to hide behind Talia’s legs. “Sorry, he can be a little skittish sometimes, I’m Talia, and this is Tohru.” She motioned to the caped rabbit standing down at her side. “And my other little friend is Simba.” Wait, was that another Lopmon? And that girl, it was the one from the rooftop! “Glad to see you’re in one piece still, kid!”

Ry glanced around, looking back from the guinea pig (who was apparently something called a "Tsukaimon") and to the pair of the rabbit and her partner, and then glanced at the new person coming into the scene, who seemed to the be the guinea pig's partner. "Wait, you can have more than one purple guinea pig around?" he asked, "So... it's kind of like a species? You can have multiple digimon of the same species?"
This was all very confusing, rightly so. Especially since the purple guinea pig was acting strangely, laughing so hard for no obvious reason whilst introducing themselves, "Uh, right," he replied, "I've told Katherine and Jazz here, but my name is Ry. It's nice to meet you,"
And then came about yet another pair of digimon and what seemed to be their human partner, who were all sweaty as if they had been running away from something. Can people have more than one digimon partner? He was learning something new everyday, and imagine what he could do with more than one digimon!
"I'm Ry, it's nice to meet all of you," he said, introducing himself for the third time, though it seemed as if two of them knew each other, "So, are they both your digimon partners? I didn't know you could have both."

Katherine tilted her head upon listening to Ry's words. This guy was definitely a newcomer, he had no partner, he didn't know much about digimon. It kinda reminded the girl of herself a month ago. -It is a species. I've met other Tsukaimon previously, but they were different individuals than Anzu. -Jazz explained to the blonde guy. -As there exist other Lopmons and are different from me. -Little did Jazz knew she was about to find one. -Awwww, master Jazz, you're so smart. -Katherine squealed taking the bunny off her head and hugging it. -SHUT UP! LET ME GO! -Yelled the bunny, as she struggled to set herself free. -And what's that 'master' thing about!? New arrivals were approaching, as other creature arrived the scene. It was a dragon digimon with a red cape, Katherine started blatantly at the creature. -Could it be...? -Oh, it definitely was. A girl with another Lopmon arrived following the dragon, she had blonde, long hair. She made the introductions and then turned at Katherine, the girl's eyes widened and a smile began forming over her lips. -T-TALIA!? -Nothing else could be said, as the ground began shaking just after this question. What was going on? The little earthquake was enough to make Katherine fall to the ground on her knees. A drilling sound could be heard to her right, but she couldn't see a thing, it was plain grass. That, until she started noticing a silver drill coming out of the grass, was that a digimon ?On the left side of the group, another creature had appeared, also apparently after coming out the ground. Both digimon seemed very alike but weren't really comparable to any creature the girl had seen before. They were like giant earth rats with a drill by a nose and on their fingers. -Are we clear!? -One of them yelled at the other one. His question seemed to have been answered right after when the ground began shaking again. Three yellow creatures with drills all over their body came out the ground in front of the group of stunned humans and digimon.
Were they on the middle of a subterranean pursuit? -STOP RIGHT THERE!
-Oh! Crap! -The other digimon of the pair, the one with a slight pink color, yelled. -Tell'em the truth, you stupid Drimogemon! Tell'em you've got it!
-What!? But you're the one who has it! Give it back to them! Stop lying! -The other one, with a blue color, replied. These two were apparently running away from the yellow trio. -Come on, Digmons! Get him! -They apparently weren't allies, though, as they were accusing each other of having a certain something.
-We're capturing you both then! Nise Drimogemon and Drimogemon! -The Digmon began walking towards them. -And you! Humans right there! Don't move either! You're coming with us! -Did they mean them? Apparently, the group was at the wrong place at the wrong time. -Ugh! It's a no-use! -The pink drilled-nose digimon, who apparently was named Nise Drimogemon started waving at the humans. -Hey! Kids! These Digmon are dangerous! Come with me! Let's get out of here! -No kids! He's a thief! Come with me, let's get the hell out of here! -Drimogemon yelled at the group from their right. The two of them were going now, Katherine knew it was time for every member of the recently formed group of humans and digimon to take a shot.
-Running away with the pink one, Nise Drimogemon -Running away with the blue one, Drimogemon -Staying and see if the Digmon were, in fact, good or bad digimon
What would it be? Decision time!

Before Talia could go and greet her friend, the ground trembled, spewing out what looked like giant moles and some kind of insect digimon who loudly and rudely proceeded to announce he was capturing the group, something the blonde didn’t really take kindly to. “Oh yeah, you and what army? Are they as ugly as you?” Taunting the digimon probably wasn’t the smartest idea, but Talia was kind of in the heat of the moment. “Like hell you are! Twins, go!” Tohru jumped into a fight pose. “Where’d Simba go?” The dragon was still trembling behind the girl’s legs, reeling from the previous encounter and upon processing that she’d called him he squeaked a bit nervously, jumping to his legs which wobbled with fear, but nonetheless the dragon stood with his sister.
“Hmmph, and why should we believe either of you? Drimogemon have never exactly been known to be trustworthy, most of you are just oversized, spineless moles who live underground and fight amongst yourselves for food and territory.” Heck, there were stories that they hid and stole the buried bones of canine digimon. This definitely wasn’t going to end well and Tohru was about to suggest that the group flee in case any of them followed through on their word, and even though the two would do their best, neither of them could evolve yet to be of equal power with these moles, in the end they would probably end up fleeing. “But I’ll wait and see what the others think.” His legs still tremorring, the dragon seemed to flashback to the day of that dokunemon as he realized this could possibly end worse, starting to panic a little as the urge to run and hide crept into his synapses, fighting with his minds reminder to stand his ground in this time of need.

Several things kind of just happened at once so it took a bit for Akemi to process most of this. Three more people showed up, so she waved at them and then turned to the trembling ground and those who promptly emerged. Two mole people and some insect thing, the latter of which wanted to CAPTURE THEM.
Akemi silently looked to Katherine and Talia and Ry before looking back to the trio of Digimon...What was she to do?
Well, unlike her moron of a human, Anzu had decided already. She wasn't going to be captured for nothing. "Pfffthahaha! You? Capture MEEEEE? For NOTHING? Wow! You're truly the smartest insect this side of wherever the heck you came from, buddy!" She cackled, before the Tsukaimon's expression grew dead serious.
"Kiss the purplest part of my ass, you three stooges."
"...P-Please ignore her." Akemi mumbled, hoping to god her digimon didn't just get everyone killed.

A species huh? So digimon have species, not like humans where it's just the one? So they're more like animals in that sense? The wheels and cogs in Ry's mind started to turn relentlessly, he began to figure this out more and more after a few seconds went by, his understanding of digimon beginning to fully consolidate.
Which actually makes sense, considering there are two similar brown and pink rabbits in front of him, which are... Lopmons, it seemed? Ry didn't really get it, but he's just rolling with it, so goes the slang.
But then the ground started to rumble and quake underneath his feet, and soon enough, five more creatures appeared. Two drilly purply creatures, and then three golden drilly creatures. All of them suspicious, none of them making sense.
But regardless, he liked the spunk of the group. The girl began ordering her digimon to fight, whereas the purple guinea pig stood up for himself. Seeing that, Ry was only even more edged on.
"Yeah!" he shouted in accordance with the Tsukaimon, fist up, "Like hell you're taking any of us, you will not be able to order us around!"
The fact that he was only human still hadn't sunk into him as he said those words, but whatever, right?

-Bad idea, bad idea, bad idea... -Katherine kept repeating, at the sight of her new human acquaintances taking a step forward to fight, lead by Talia. The girl looked around, thinking about her options, but didn't find many, even if one of this Drimogemon was in fact not a liar, how could she know which one was it? what if, as Tohru said, none of them were good guys, to begin with. Still, staying and trying to fight the Digmon didn't seem like a better idea, and it was about to become a worse one. The ground started shaking once again, Katherine's eyes widened as she started counting. -Seven... eight... nine... -Seven more Digmon had come out the ground, and now the group was completely surrounded.
-Crap! They're too many! Sorry kids, see ya! -Drimogemon began drilling the ground, very fast. Upon turning to her right, Katherine could spot, behind the Digmons, Nise Drimogemon also trying to scape, by digging. At this point, they seemed better with the drilling rats, that was not hard to see.
-JAZZ! GO! -Jazz staying wasn't gonna help the group at all, fighting didn't seem like an option against 10 enemies. -B-but... with whom? -Jazz asked, moving her head towards both Drimogemon and Nise Drimogemon, trying to take a guess. -WHOEVER YOU WANT! JUST GO! -Yelled the girl, desperately. It was too late for the tamers, but Jazz, who was little enough, could escape. -Eeehhh... Pink one! -The bunny quickly pointed to Nise Drimogemon, and began running. -You won't escape! -A Digmon in front of Jazz raised an arm to punch her.
-S w i f t F e e t!!! -The bunny hugely raised her speed for a short amount of time, jumping to avoid the attack in mid-air, then stood over the arm of the bug-drilling digimon and jumped over him, getting out the circle of Digmons surrounding the humans.
-I'm taking this ride! -Said Jazz hoping on top of Nise Drimogemon just as he kept drilling into the ground.
It was definitely too late for the humans. Their little display of braveness had lost them the opportunity to flee the scene. But being that small, the rookie digimon partners still could escape, so they could help their tamers later. If everyone got captured, there would be no one from the outside who could save them, so letting the bunny go was, for Katherine, the best option to be saved eventually. What were they going to do? Drimogemon, Nise Drimogemon or staying with their partners?

From atop a massive flower, a bumbly little bee peered down from where he had previously been napping. Unsure of what all the commotion was about, he decided it was best to just ask. But nobody down there looked familiar... Oh well! No better time to introduce himself and make some friends! Zipping and zooming from the multicolored petals, he teetered and twirled through the air and dipped and dived between everyone.
"Hey! Heya! Hey hey hey hey!!" Fan waved excitedly to each and every one, bumping into the Drimogemon accidentally, and later bumping his head against Katherine and Jazz. "Whoops, sorry sorry sorry! My name's Fan, what kind of game are you guys playing?"
He then looked up to the Digmon, their bright yellow shells causing a massive grin to mask the seven inch tall Digimon's once confused expression, "Ohh, wowy zowy! You guys are more yellow than the bumbliest of bees! I'm impressed." He giggled as he continued to zip about in his hyperactive stupor.

And Ry thought it couldn't get any worse. He thought it wouldn't get any worse until seven more of the golden fuckers decided to drill their way up to the ground and surround the rest of them. That made twelve in total, except for the two purple and pink drilly ones that were now attempting to get away by drilling their way out of this mess.
What? What are they thinking of doing? Why would the rabbit digimon randomly climb on top of one of the drilly monsters even though they may potentially be criminals? What is wrong with this bunch?
Ry glanced left and right, he was unsure of what actions the others would be taking. Apparently, the rabbit digimon is going to leave her tamer behind, which may or may not be a smart decision considering they are now all fucking trapped.
There wasn't much hope of escaping anymore, now that they were surrounded. There wasn't much that Ry could do either, except for standing his ground and try to fight against monsters even though he was human.
Hey, go big or go home right?
"Alright, let's-"
At that very moment, the group was interrupted by what seemed to be a giant yellow bee buzzing around them, zooming here and there and bumping against the rabbit and Katherine, "What," Ry deadpanned, staring at the bee and following its zipping and zooming, "What are you doing? Where did you come from?"
This isn't helping! There's ten of these shitheads and now there's a bee that came out of nowhere, that is now only helping to enrage them even further. Well if they weren't going to be dead before, they definitely will be now. Ry sighed, better to just accept his death and get it over with than anything else.

Anzu wasn't about to flee, no. She was...one hundred percent ready to throw down with a bunch of champion levels. Yep. This was seriously happening. Akemi however noted that they were now SURROUNDED BY BIG AND BAD THINGS. Also a bee came in, huh. What a nice bee.
Well, he seemed nice. But that didn't distract. Whatsoever. Akemi murmured every swear word in the book, while Anzu?
Anzu just kept digging the grave deeper in deeper. Admittedly, riled up as she was? She did just realize something she thought was actually kind of funny. "You cowards can't even fight mano a mano with a bunch of rookies! Bet you don't got the nads to pick on someone your own size!"
And just like that, Akemi had had enough. Or was starting to, given the growing frown on her face.
Basically, fleeing's for cowards.
