Finally cleaned up, and now a bit more confident in herself now that she had some understanding of the situation she was in, Rise decided to venture deeper into the forest and hopefully find a way out of it. At this point, getting back home seemed like a distant miracle.
While her Monodramon friend was off attending to other business in the woods, the horned girl ventured off, eventually stumbling across a deep cave covered in heavy foliage. Nobody had been here in a long time, and the whole area had an omnious presence to it. She wasn't equipped for such an adventure, so it was probably wise to turn around.
As Rise went to do so, she heard something moving through the brush. "I'm getting tired of this - if there's anybody out there, come out right now!"

"Where the hell am I?" Ry scratched the back of his head in anxiety and stress. He had admitted to himself five minutes ago that he was absolutely and utterly lost, and that there was nothing he could do to get himself out.
So he did what he thought reasonable: he kept on walking. You can't get out of a forest if you don't keep walking, right?
The problem was where he was going, he wasn't sure if he was going deeper into the forest or not. He started marking signs here and there on random trees to stop himself from going in circles, but that was useless if he didn't know which direction was out in the first place.
When he heard a voice though, he blinked and a surge of hope coursed through him, someone else was here! Even if they sounded threatening, he wasn't alone!
He put his hands up and walked towards the voice, coming out of the brush, "Woah, don't worry, I mean you no harm," he tried to reassure a... girl with horns? Didn't expect that, "I'm just lost in the forest and trying to find my way out. Do you know what direction is out?"

As the boy arrived on the scene, Rise's digivice would suddenly become abuzz, distant radio chatter entering her Digi-FM's frequency. Lucky for the two of them, it still seemed possible for the Monodramon to call upon his D-Tector for some of its more... direct purposes.
"BZZT... Rise! Come in...! BZZT..."
He seemed panicked, and the faint sound of an ape's howling could be heard in the background. Iachi had definitely been left to deal with some trouble.
"Please tell me you can hear me, this thing won't give up! Uhh... Over? BZZT..."
"BZZT... GET BACK HERE YOU STUPID LITTLE-" The chatter ceased for the time being, her friend's fate uncertain. Whatever it was he was fleeing from was steamed. Surely he'd be fine though, he hadn't made it this far without getting into a few scraps, and this wasn't going to be his last outing into the wilderness of the Digital World.

Out from the woods came something tall, something lumbering, and something slightly handsome and scratching its head. Not exactly the monster Rise expected, this boy then proclaimed that he came in peace. Yeah, whatever, she'd seen people turn into monsters before, and that's exactly something a predator would say.
"Yeah. I don't believe you." She never lowered her guard, waiting for some kind of action to break out any minute now. "You're gonna have to prove that to me." Unfortunately, before this went any further, the neon girl's pocket began to vibrate, her expression changing from collected to annoyed.
She pulled her D-Tector from her pocket, holding it up to her ear like it was a cellphone. It seemed her friend was in danger, as the sounds of combat could be heard in the background. What a lucky little shit, her adventures weren't so fun. "Do you need backup?! Please, please tell me you need backup!" It wasn't any use, the transmission ended already.
"It seems my friend is in danger. Sorry about that. Anyways, I think I was about to beat you for being a liar." The intensity instantly returned to her eyes, readying herself for this "peace-loving" kid to show his true colors.

"Uh... How should I prove to you that I'm not lying?"
Ry has had a rough day, a very rough day, alright. He's been chased after drilly monster things, gone through another world for no reason, found out that he had no chance of getting another monster partner like everyone else at all, and the only way he's ever going to get power is that if he finds it. Wherever it is, however he finds it.
"Look, alright, I just want to get out," what was it that could possibly prove to her that she wasn't lying? If he threw his symbol of power away?
Right, actually, that could work. His 'symbol of power' is useless anyways.
In a flash, he dug into his pocket and pulled out his D-Tector, and then threw it on the ground in front of him, far away from his reach. "There, is that enough for you?" he raised an eyebrow, "If your friend is in trouble, I really don't care. I just want to get out of this fucking forest and get back to civilisation."

Momentary static drifted from the concealed D-Tector, but went silent almost as soon as it came through. A scream rang out through the foliage, however, coupled with a blur of purple as Iachi came flying from the treetops and between the two. The Apemon huffed before swinging off. Luckily enough for the spirit users, it seemed content with what it considered a victory over the Monodramon. Iachi, however, was in no such mood.
"That was too intense," he whimpered as he pulled himself up into a seated position, looking dizzily up at the great height he had just been thrown from, "I... I'm fine though. I think." He scratched at the notched horn in the center of his head, his claws teetering about the edges of it. If he'd still been in his human form he was sure that would have been a concussion.
"Oh, who is this?" Taking notice of the other boy, Iachi looked him up and down excitedly. "Friendly, I hope. Heheh."

Just wanted to get out. Just wanted to run away. What a moronic outlook. The blonde proceeded to throw away his strange device, which was likely his only means of defense. Rise's cyan eyes looked down upon it, her mind contemplating taking it from him.
"Just want to leave? God, you really are stupid." She slowly walked forward with the intent of a murderer, before stopping before where the Digivice was thrown. The primal girl reached down and retrieved it, examining it like a precious gem.
Before she could say anything about it, Iachi burst through the trees, quickly followed by an Apemon. It grunted a bit, before taking off, likely not wanting to fight against multiple opponents. "Yes, this is our new 'friend.' Why don't you two introduce yourselves?" She didn't know the boy's name, but she'd get it now.
Rise looked at the newcomer, throwing him his D-Tector in hopes he'd catch it. "You better hang onto that." Next time, she wouldn't give it back.

Ry sighed and rolled his eyes, what was going to take this bitch to even believe him? "Can you just tell me what way gets me out of this forest, please?" he asked, quite exasperatedly, "I don't care if you think I'm stupid, I just want out before..."
His words trailed off when he saw what looked like a purple horned dragon run through the bushes with a big yellow monkey swinging through the trees above him, apparently chasing after the dragon. He stared at the yellow monkey for a while until it disappeared into the thick trees, then shook his head, "Before I encounter anything like that." he muttered under his breath.
"You two know each other?" he glanced between the two, who seemed acquainted with each other, "Is she your tamer, or whatever it's called?"
He sighed again, "I'm Ry, Ry Napraleon," and though he was caught in surprise when the girl threw the D-Tector back at him, he caught his device just in time, "Thanks for that."

"She is not my tamer," Iachi laughed and materialized his own D-Tector, spinning it atop one of his clawed fingers, "My name's Iachi Tanaka. I'm a human just like you, just happen to be stuck like this for the time being."
He then snapped, grabbing his D-Tector out of the air and pressing the buttons on it, "Right, right, I found something interesting." After a few moments of messing around with the device, a small portal appeared to open from it. Within a couple seconds what appeared to be a key card materialized and floated over to Rise.
"Who's ready for a treasure hunt? Heheh..." His D-Tector disappeared as he jumped forward, pointing into the dense foliage ahead, "It's supposed to open someplace further in, at least that's what that bonehead was going on about earlier." Iachi raised a brow and smirked. This place had grown on him, and he was definitely having fun now despite the fights he'd been subjected to.

"I'm Rise, my last name isn't really important." Now that they all knew each other's names, it would be easier for the narrative to address each of them, rather than simply describing them. Iachi opened up his device, revealing a function she hadn't seen before - some sort of internal storage. A key card materialized before her hands, which was explained to open some door within the cave.
"Look Ry, you want outta this place, right?" It would be helpful if there was another pillar of meat around, and this boy was just big enough for the role. "Come with us, and maybe I'll tell you how." She motioned towards the cave, intending to enter it now that she had a party behind her. Whatever was in there was likely valuable.
It was a bit concerning that she still herself didn't know how to control her power, but it was a detail not worth telling the newcomer.

Ry narrowed his eyes a little bit at the purple dragon, and then widened when he realised that the digimon was just an unfortunate human being, "Oh, I see," he said, "Well, sorry to hear that man."
He watched with awe as the purple dragon materialised a D-Tector and what looked like a card, and then mentioned something about a treasure hunt. Whilst it was interesting, Ry didn't know exactly how he could help or even defend himself as a useless human.
Before he could say anything to the contrary though, Rise, the girl who so kindly told her name now, told him to come along. He grumbled, he could tell her that he didn't actually have a spirit to digivolve into, unlike the purple dragon and possibly the girl, from the looks of it. But if he did, he wasn't entirely sure what she would do to him eiter.
The worst case scenario was she would claim he was lying again, and then beat him up whilst he had no way to defend himself.
Screw it, he sighed, "Fine, alright, I'll follow along," he clipped his D-Tector back on his belt and relaxed himself from a defensive stance, "Lead on."

Rise was picking on the new guy, that much was obvious. The little purple dinosaur kept his mouth shut about it, but wouldn't encourage the behavior any further. As he turned on his heel, he marched onward to scout ahead for any dangers that may lie in wait.
"So, Ry," He eventually called back, turning a few stones over with a clawed foot. Couldn't be too sure around these parts, "You're just trying to get back home? Not even the slightest bit curious about this place?" He chuckled, "Once you get used to it, it's really not so bad. Sure, fights can get tough, but," he paused.
Apparently, in his rambling, he'd reached what appeared to be a dead end within the small cavern. As Iachi felt about the wall, he half expected to find some sign of where to use the key card.
"Did we miss a corridor or something?"
