What's In The Water? [Saku/Zyb/Amelie]

The dragon... just does this sometimes? Both Ginjiro and Dee were surprised to find this out; Ginji was very concerned about it - "Is... is that normal?" - while Dee shrugs it off as a weird quirk - "Eh, I don't know. I don't deal with people on a regular basis, but doesn't everyone have some unique personality trait about them?"
After a couple of warnings and threats aimed at it, the sneak reveals itself... as a pink DemiDevimon! Now there's a surprise! Dee stares thoughtfully at their new guest. "Do not worry," she says smoothly and soothingly, "nobody will be harming your teeth or any other part of you."
Then Otohime mentions 'weird colors' at the village, and Dee goes into damage control mode. "I'm sure they aren't weird colors, just unique and special and very interesting. We are curious about what makes Digimon special and different, but would not want to make anybody uncomfortable. Isn't that right, my dear assistant?"
Ginjiro looks completely lost. "Well... um... I suppose. I don't really know much about Digimon yet at all, so I don't know what colors are different than the norm... but I don't believe that anyone's color makes a difference in who they are unless they decide that for themselves."

Well, at least things were going quite well thus far. The funnily-colored DemiDevimon seemed to be friendly, going as far as to offer them to guide them to the interesting village ahead of them.
Was there anything to add to that? Probably not, except making sure that Jiro's consciousness wouldn't drift away often enough. "Checking that city out seems like a good plan." Having said that, Amy began treading in the direction they group was being led.
And, as she did, she wondered if there was something else on those digimons, sides the funny coloration. Sure, the DemiDevimon seemed to be pretty normal (for a DemiDevimon), but appearances could be deceitful.
She wasn't sure why, but there was this... lingering feeling that told her something was simply off. Would those just be her own nerves acting up in the face of this strange situation or something else?
Eventually, the brunette would find out.

"...I know a few doctors, uh...Maybe we could go set an appointment up or something after this?" Did Digimon even HAVE blood pressure problems or was Jiro just some weird ano--...Don't think that. Jiro's a sweetheart, come on. "I don't think it is, no..." She said to answer the PetitMamon. Everyone seemed to be doing alright with this...Specimen. Speaking of.
The DemiDevimon blinked at Otohime. "...Sure, some of us look abnormal and act like that but I don't think it's that big of an issue. There's a few folks to avoid, like...Anyone with a white carapace." That was incredibly specific, surely. "Otherwise...ah...I dunno what's wrong with us. Anyways. C'mon. It's this way!" And the DemiDevimon led the group along, with Titania and Naoko glancing around every so often. To note, the path they were on was the one the former was leading them down, so it was more or less a confirmation that they were going the right way. In other news, the DemiDevimon was relieved at Dee's assurances. Else, he wouldn't be leading them, nope! "If that's true how come the Black Agumon are more violent than the yellow ones, hm?" He idly remarked towards Ginjiro.
And yet, there were still questions to be asked. Questions to be answered. "Soooo...Who sent you?"

Otohime scratched her head. "I dunno dude, I never found a proper digidoc, all I know is what my lil buddy told me himself. He says when he gets too embarrassed his head gets warm an' his fingers go numb and he faints! He thinks it's the blood pressure!" Then she turned back to the DemiDevimon. "Eh? White carapace? What's wrong with 'em?" She walked idly, still carrying the unconscious dragon. The plants here were reaaaally fancy, teach would love to have 'em in his garden. Her dreaming was interrupted by a question from DemiDevimon. "Eh? Who sent us? I think it was some pale lady from some field club...I think..."

Ginjiro sighs softly. So a fainting dragon is just a fainting dragon. No medical emergencies and nothing to worry about sure is a relief. Dee, on the other hand, smiles knowingly. "I completely understand," she says in a gentle voice. "Could be an annoying yet harmless medical issue, could be an emotional defense mechanism. I wish I could pass out when I'm hyper-embarrassed. Like when I mixed up two very similar types of mushrooms and instead of a healing potion I made a stink bomb." She winks at the fallen dragon.
The DemiDevimon really piqued Dee's interests. "Not a big issue? Nobody said it was an issue at all. Perhaps it is some kind of advantage, in fact." She followed the pink bat-like Digimon closer than she was to her assistant. "I have a theory about why BlackAgumon is more aggressive in general than Agumon."
"Oh boy," Ginjiro says under his breath. "She's about to give a lecture..." In fact, she was. "It isn't the color, it is the attribute. The rumor about virus Digimon being evil, the stories and stereotypes, aren't true, but there is something to it. The Virus attribute is more chaotic and destructive, but not necessarily in an evil way, and it doesn't rule over the other personality traits. However, when a Digimon that is supposed to be one attribute is a different one, I theorize the attribute may have a bigger effect as it tries to make the Digimon 'compatible' with its attribute. Just a wild, untested hypothesis, and each individual is completely unique in personality anyways, so color, attribute, family... it might determine 'what' you are, but not 'who' you are."

Once everyone confirmed that, indeed, Jiro's condition had been something non-life threatening (and fairly common, if she could add), the group followed their path. It was true that coloration was sometimes just an innocuous fact about a digimon, even if in others it reflected a fraction of their personalities and behaviors.
Dee was quick to provide her own answer to that matter, but Amelie was quick to voice her own thoughts about the matter "I personally think that neither color nor attribute have any impact on a digimon's personality. Viruses can be good, harmless digimon and vaccines can be dangerous predators. I think that whether a digimon is aggressive, or feral or whatever is a matter of nurture, not nature."
Amelie made a quick pause before adding one last bit. "My opinion is that that the common misconception of virus types being more aggressive than other attributes originates from most virus types living the majority of their lives in the Dark Area. And let's face it; no matter the attribute, most digimons would grow up to be fairly aggressive were they to be born there."
Had she gotten a bit fired up? Probably, but the topic was definitely something that could catch her interest, and she didn't mind talking about it.

"Well, for one he's super dumb. Kind of like a Hawkmon when you feed them too many bananas." DemiDevimon explained. "...Wait, what?" Titania glanced at the disgustingly pink bat in confusion. "Nothing! But really, it's just better if you avoid him. Less strain on him and less strain on you!"
DemiDevimon spared a glance towards Amelie. "Mmm. Fair. Fair...Maybe I shouldn't have talked out of turn....Though I've not met a lotta folks from the Dark Area to ask them! Then again! I don't meet anyone in general, I rarely stray too far from here!" Meanwhile! The trees had begun to fan out as the river seemed to go on another path.
A big tree. With buildings on it. Specifically a few houses. Naoko was fairly certain she had seen something like this in a video game before. Yet this...place had another river flowing all around it, but the water looked...off color. Strange. It flowed further on beyond the village with the same strange coloration, too. There were 'mons of all colors roaming around and going about their daily business, as well as a white Dokunemon lazing around at what looked like a guard post. DemiDevimon turned to the group. "Pale lady...? Woah, that sounds intimidating!"
Naoko and Titania remained silent, staring at the river and where it led. What do you all do?

Otohime was quite taken by surprise when she saw the tree with all the houses on it! She even lifted her eyepatch to let her lazy eye see it, too! "...holy fucking shit, I've never seen anything like this. This is like some American kid's dream!" After some silence, she felt she needed to elaborate. "You know...? American kids and treehouses...? Happens all the time on TV...? Ah whatever, let's go check it out!" Otohime had all but forgotten about the river, or the weirdly coloured Digimon. All that mattered to her right now was that tree. She wanted to see what it looked like on the inside!

Amelie didn't know why, but for some reason... Hawkmons turning hopelessly dumb when fed too many bananas seemed like an obvious statement, just like the fact that the sky is blue, the water is wet and that the Digital World is weird. Why was that, it was a mystery; maybe a hereditary piece of knowledge? No way to know.
Yet, that wasn't what mattered at the moment; as entertaining as that line of thought was, it probably wasn't the main focus of their small quest. They were in the village with strangely-colored digimon now, and that meant they were a step closer to solve this place's mystery.
While Naoko stared, Ryuko ran towards a tree house and both Dee and Ginjiro remained silent, the brunette pointed at the river that wasn't that far from them. "I guess that we should take some samples first? That's what the reason why we're here, after all."
She then proceeded to give Naoko a look. "Take Ayumi gave you some equipment? I haven't brought much, so..."
With any luck, they could begin with the tests! if not... this would get rather interesting. In the clueless about what to do sense.

"Yeah. She actually did. They seem simple enough, and...it's really simple, what we're supposed to be testing. Just finding abnormalities in the water." Naoko unslung her backpack (that she most definitely had this entire time, totally!) and procured a box with three kits within. Three gadgets meant to gauge water purity and all of that fun stuff. "Take your pick, and make sure Ot-...Ryuko gets one too, I'm gonna go get some testing done." With that, Naoko snagged a kit, and led Titania off.
This would leave Amelie alone. And the white Dokunemon had awoken. He looked to Amelie, for a good few seconds...Before he spoke. "H-Hewwo? Who awe yew, stwangew?"
Meanwhile! Otohime would find that the tree itself, while large in nature, didn't have an inside, but there were two platforms built around the tree that held structures, as well as oddly-colored Digimon! There was a ladder leading up, what would she do then?

Otohime was a tad disappointed when it turned out the tree had no inside, but all the platforms still looked enticing! She wanted to see what was up there! "C'mon Jiro, let's see how people live on these tree thingies!" The Dracomon blinked. "Eh? Oh, s-s-sure, there's a ladder right he-" Otohime was already halfway up to the first platform, clutching the tree trunk and slowly climbing up. Jiro could only stare. He sighed...then chuckled to himself. As dumb as his partner was, her pure eager was a sight to behold. Taking the easier route, Jiro then used the ladder to climb the tree.

Three kits to get samples from the water. That seemed like a simple enough task! Except for the part where Amy had to give one of those kits to Ryuko. The girl sure was a handful, and getting her to come down from wherever she was hiding just to do nerd-stuff wouldn't fly, as far as the brunette was concerned.
Better if she just waited until either her or Jiro decided they had enough in regards to exploring the place and came back down to ask in regards to what to do rather than seek them out. Amy knew that more than well.
That's why she set out to fulfill the instructions given to her as diligently as possible, even though there would be a curious being preventing her first round of tests, mostly due to... sheer curiosity.
The girl didn't know why, but she had to resist the need to get this creature out of its misery as she answered the questions asked. "Hi. Name's Amelie. Who are you, not-so-stranger?"
With any luck, he wouldn't prove to be detrimental to the tests.

"Ah, my name is Dokunemon!" That was, by far, the single most clear sentence this tortured soul had delivered. "It's nice to meet you, miss Amewie!" Oh god not again. "...What awe youw testing fow? Can I come watch?" This creature...despite having what may be a new form of torture that the Geneva convention hadn't caught wind of...Really just seemed kind of harmless. The pink DemiDevimon, however, had not abandoned Amelie to this fate.
"...Uhhhh...That's Jeeg. Marble Jeeg. He's a good fellow. I guess." The pink bat told Amelie. He was really not sure whether to trust the instinct to run or not...
Meanwhile, up at the tree-village(?), Ryuko and Jiro would find...A colorful host of Digimon awaiting them. Some children. Some not. They all looked incredibly off with their off-colored nature. A gray Palmon lifted a finger and silently pointed at Jiro. "...Is he one of us?" The lil cactus asked. The other Digimon (who's numbers included a Pink Guilmon™, a green Hagurumon™, and an albino Koemon™), just...looked at each other.
Then the Palmon. Then Jiro. Then in sync, all went "Dunno." The pink Guilmon did step over. "Hi, welcome to our village! Uh...Can we help you?"

Jiro noticed the eyes and fingers on him, and hid behind Otohime. The sukeban, for her part, was amazed by the sheer colour variety among the Digimon here! Look, one even approached them! "Oh hey, how ya doin'? Us? We're jus' having a look around! Out friend down there is doing some weird-ass research, I climbed up here cuz this place looks amazing!" Then, she realized Jiro's discomfort. Her face immidiately turned sour and she balled her hand into a fist. "You fellas making fun of my buddy here? Cuz if ya are then I'm gonna take yer asses right to Kicktown!"

The situation was truly exasperating. On and off, Amelie thought on the way she would part from this world, its implications and the possible effect that those would cause. But never, never she had imagined that this is how she would perish.
Victim of a Dokunemon that insisting on hurting her very soul. "Sure thing! You can watch if you want; regarding the purpose of this, though? I'm not entirely sure. One of my friends is a complete nerd and wants to get some samples of this place. I'm not very sure what's the whole point, but I agreed to help her and that stuff."
Why the brunette had said those words when the pain she was experiencing was excruciating? That was a good question! With any luck, the PicoDevimon that had decided to remain near her location would lessen her suffering, or at least distract the Dokunemon until she took the samples. With some luck, it wouldn't take long!
