Calliope sighed when he said not to worry about him, in his current state he was a sitting duck and depending on how far away the cave went down would determine how long it would take to get back if something happened. She chuckled when he said he wasn’t going to run away “trust me I don’t see that happening any time soon.” Looking at DemiMeramon when he simply looked at her after Desmond wanted a hug Calliope raised a brow, it was strange that he suddenly turned down a hug especially when it was from his tamer. It dawned on her: DemiMeramon didn’t want to leave Desmond alone, if he was really that hesitant on leaving the tamer she thought maybe it would be a better idea to have him stay. She looked at the little Digimon currently resting in her grip it looked up at her before turning its attention to DemiMeramon. they listened when the blond tamer told the Digimon that he needed to protect them. Hopefully they wouldn’t be long and they would get back to him earlier rather than later. Calliope smiled “I will make sure they stay out of trouble” at least she hoped she could keep them out of trouble.
When they left the girl looked back and sighed “don’t worry DemiMeramon this shouldn’t take long, the sooner we find something the sooner we’ll get back to Desmond.” The cavern wasn’t that scary but she was glad she had some sort of light to guide her otherwise she might be more freaked out about travelling through the dark cave. Her eyes followed the creature as it floated back and fourth and side to side. She then heard it make the small noise “hmm?” Mudmon looked up as DemiMeramon made the noise "Mu?". Calliope realized he was copying the noise Mudmon makes. She looked down at the little Digimon “he’s trying to sound like you” she smiled. The Digimon squinted when being copied by the DemiMeramon but nodded when he asked if she could understand what they were saying. It went wide eyed when the Digimon suddenly grinned widely at her. It looked at the Digimon puffing its cheeks out feeling a bit insulted by DemiMeramon mimicking it. “hey Mudmon don’t worry they say mimicry is the sincerest form of flattery” the Digimon simply let go of the puff of air In its mouth going back to sucking on its pacifier
. Calliope went back on to walking normally until the Digimon poked her and said her name, she looked down with an inquisitive look “what’s up DemiMeramon?” she listened to the Digimon asked if she could whistle as well “mhmm” the girl smiled and began whistling a tune she heard in her house growing up “all you have to do is to is practice then eventually you’ll be able to do it” she didn’t know if Digimon could whistle but she couldn’t see why they couldn’t. Her attention turned to DemiMeramon when he called her name once again “yes DemiMeramon?” she heard out his question regarding if she was afraid of water “not really there was an ocean near my home so it wouldn’t be beneficial to be afraid if it." she was curious if Desmond was afraid of water as well or if it was DemiMeramon. she patted the little fire ball on the head and smiled “it’s not something you should free rather its something you should be cautious around… if you do that you should be alright.” She was personally one who liked to go for a good swim but him being a fire ball it made sense he wasn’t too keen on water. She was glad that they were able to find water, they would have to boil it to ensure no one got sick but they would have some means of survival. She looked down feeling the Digimon gripping to her leg “it’s alright my friend I’ll keep you safe from the water.” Her concern became a bit more clear when she gripped a bit onto her Digimon and used the other hand to cover DemiMeramon “just stay back.” Well that order was quickly ignored by the fire Digimon “DemiMeramon!” she flinched when the Digimon abruptly went in front of her and said he wasn’t scared of them another small rumble formed and the wall collapsed slightly revealing a Prairiemon. Calliope quickly looked over the smaller Digimon, it didn’t look dangerous and it didn’t seem to look hostile but she could easily be wrong about that “H-hello?” she looked at the Prairiemon cautiously. She flinched when it looked their way, she hoped it wasn't going to be hostile like the Allomon they ran into.

The DemiMeramon tried to look angry upon see the Prairiemon appear behind them. It wasn't very convincing. It didn't seem hostile, or at least not right away. It wouldn't talk either though so the small Digimon just stood there, slightly in front of Calliope ready to shoot something at the other, most likely wild Digimon. The Prairiemon ear twitched and that made the fire Digimon inhale air making it bigger. He was about to shoot fire at the Prairiemon but stopped immediately when he saw it cover his head with his large gauntlets. "Ha! Wait!" It shouted as soon as the DemiMeramon began to inhale. Slightly confused, Desmond's partner slowly turned around to look at Calliope. He pointed to the Prairiemon with one hand but didn't say anything. "Ha! Phew!" The wild Digimon said before lowering his hands. "I was sure you were gonna to hit me there lil' fella! Ha! Would have been terrible, I'll tell ya. Ha!" And it began laughing, quite loud too. After a second of laughter, it then dusted his head a bit with his large claws and bowed after.
"I am Prairiemon! Ha! You do know that you are in my territory, right?" He did a very serious face for a second looking at the three of them before laughing again. "Hah! Gotcha! Don't worry, I'm not the boss around here!" That word made the DemiMeramon feel a bit uneasy. Does that mean that there is a boss that isn't that one? "You guys sure make a lot of noise in here! Ha!" Desmond's partner wasn't quite sure why the Prairiemon was so loud after telling them that they made so much noise but he just began moving his head to look at it and then Calliope rapidly.
"Ha! You seemed to be confused lil' fella! And you too, erm..." It paused for a moment to try to figure out what Calliope was. "Strange one! Ha!" That was the best it could think of. To be fair, he did not seem to have met any other humans. "You should be careful around here! Ha! The ground isn't so hard around that water, I'll tell ya!" The DemiMeramon quickly went to look at the ground underneath him and was happy to see that it was still here. Also, he just realized that he didn't need to touch the ground as he was floating. But that scared him, a lot. Seeing the child Digimon do that made the Prairiemon laugh out loud. "Ha! Gotcha! It's perfectly fine! Ha!" And now the living fireball was now confused again. He didn't exactly understand that it was a joke so began poking Caliope's leg. "I think he is crazy." He whispered before he then went hiding behind Caliope.
"I can hear you! Ha!" And it pointed to his ears that moved up and down. "These two lil' things can hear everything! Ha!" The Prairiemon would begin tapping the ground with its foot while laughing. "So what you strange lil' fellas doing down in here? You sure look like you are lost or something! Ha!" And it paused before sitting down with a wide smile on its face. "Did not see that much light down there for a long while, ya know? Ha!"
"And I saw that big fella all the way over there! He is blind as a bat, I'll tell ya! Ha! Didn't even notice me at all! Ha!" DemiMeramon took a moment to think and guessed that it was talking about Desmond. Wait, it knew they were here all that time? "Calliope, is Desmond alright?" He asked shyly. "Oh! You must be Calliope! What a strange Digimon name! Ha!"

Calliope looked over at DemiMeramon he looked more hostile than the Digimon who just appeared, she didn’t want the little fire ball to start a fight for no reason. If it wasn’t hostile maybe it could help them find food or at least a safer place than the cave but it might be less likely to help if DemiMeramon shoots at it. She saw DemiMeramon abruptly take in air to ready it’s fireball “DemiMeramon wait!” Mudmon squeaked hoping the fire ball would hold off its attack, luckily he stopped when the Digimon made the motion to block its face from the attack then spoke. Calliope looked a bit stunned then turned to the fire ball “I don’t think it’s a hostile Digimon, lets not engage something that won’t fight” she calmly patted the Digimon’s head. She heard the Digimon sigh in relief then make the claim that it would have been terrible if DemiMeramon had attacked it “my apologies we’re a bit on edge right now, we wouldn’t attack you without reason.”
She raised her brow at the chuckling Digimon, it definitely was a strange one. When the Prairiemon bowed Calliope returned it with one of her own to at least be polite after they nearly attacked it. the girl paused when it said that it was in their territory then just laughed claiming that it actually wasn’t there’s “Digimon have territories?” it just remined her that they replaced the animals of the human world here so territories make sense. “sorry we don’t mean to intrude on anyone’s territory, we don’t know where we are.” She didn’t know how to respond to this strange Digimon, it seemed awfully giggly. They weren’t really that loud were they, to be honest the cave echoes probably made it seem louder. When it said they seemed confused the girl and her Digimon nodded “we are very confused” she chuckled when the Digimon just called her strange one, it almost slipped her mind that she wasn’t really normal in this world. Calliope looked at the ground when it said that they should be careful near the edge of the river, the river probably eroded the rock and made it softer. She chuckled seeing DemiMeramon look down in concern then realize he really had no worries since he floats. Calliope sighed when the Prairiemon once again told them his warning was a joke “looks like you got us again” she didn’t know if she should really take this Digimon seriously or not, so far the verdict was not.
The girl once again looked down at the Digimon who poked her leg, hearing his statement that Prairiemon was crazy she hushed “that’s not polite DemiMeramon” she didn’t want to offend Prairiemon. Her head turned when the Prairiemon said he can hear them “Sorry he doesn’t mean to insult you.” Luckily it didn’t look very offended by the comment. The girl almost forgot why they were so deep in the cave “yeah we are very lost, we came down looking for food so we figured the source of water was the best place to check” she spoke honestly. The little Mudmon in her arms groaned a bit realizing it was hungry as well. A startled look crossed came across her face when the Digimon mentioned the other person he saw, it had to have been Desmond. He probably couldn’t see Prairiemon since it was so dark, the concern that if Desmond couldn’t see a Digimon like Prairiemon then what else could come up behind him. Calliope looked at DemiMeramon “I’m sure he’s alright, but just in case we should head back” she rather head back empty handed than risk Desmond getting in trouble. Calliope looked at Prairiemon when it called her a Digimon “sorry for the confusion but I’m not a Digimon I’m a human” she paused for a second before turning on her heel “and I’m sorry for running so soon but I have to go check on my friend” she started rushing off in the direction from which they came. She heard the sound of foot steps behind her and figured that Prairiemon must be following, she wasn’t too concerned about being trailed by it since maybe it could help them out later. The time back seemed shorter than going in since she was rushing then, they eventually reached the area they started in “Desmond?”

Prairiemon was still laughing when Calliope apologized for DemiMeramon. "Ha! Apologies accepted!" He said with his joyful tone. It was clear that he wasn't taking the situation very seriously. The girl was the first time he saw a human, well second if you count Desmond but he did not interact with him. Or did he? He only said that he saw the guy but didn't say anything about interacting with him. "Of course! Ha! Digimon have territories!" He paused for a second and took a more serious expression for a moment. "In fact, he already knows that you strangers are here! Ha!" And another pause before looking at Calliope straight in her eyes. "And he does not like visitors." He kept that face for a few more seconds before giggling. "Ha! Gotcha again!" It was hard to see if just making fun of them or telling the truth. It could very well be some Digimon's territory. "You should be careful! Ha! You guys are not alone in here! Ha!" He pointed around him but there was nothing they could see. "And they are all around you! Ha!"
Again, hard to tell if he was just messing with them but all that talk made DemiMeramon uneasy. He would try to hide behind Calliope's legs but peak out on the side to look at the Prairiemon. He would look around when he told that they weren't alone. He tried to make himself as little a possible and his body light got slightly dimmer. "Calliope?" He would whisper to her. "I don't like him." That made the Prairiemon laugh once more. "Ha! That is not polite!" And he tried to mimic the girl's voice. "I don't see why you would be afraid! Ha! Unless you got something to hide!" He began tapping the ground with his foot. "If that's that case, I would be careful I'll tell ya! Ha!"
Pausing to listen to Calliope saying that they were just looking for food, the Prairiemon chuckled. "Food? Here? Ha!" And he began laughing louder. "I wouldn't be looking for that. Ha! Why? Because you look like food! Ha!" The DemiMeramon shivered and closed his big eyes, he was very afraid now. He then remembered that Desmond told him to protect her and Mudmon. Taking a puff of air, the little fireball floated in front of Calliope and tried to do a mean face. "I will not let you eat Calliope and Mudmon!" He said out loud making it echo a bit. The Prairiemon stopped laughing and his ears twitched. "Me? I'm not the one that eats small Digimon! Ha!" Does that mean that there's is one that does? Could it be the boss he mentioned before?
"A human?" That word made the Prairiemon look at Calliope funny. "Never heard of that! You sure are tall! Ha!" And as soon as she said that she was going back to check on Desmond, the wild Digimon laughed. "Don't run too fast! You might trip and break a leg! Ha!" The DemiMeramon would hug Calliope's leg to tell her to hold him as well because she could run much faster than he could float. He was quite relieved that they were getting away from that strange Digimon. But then, he heard footsteps behind them. Was he following them? But why?
As the three of them rushed back to Desmond, they could see with DemiMeramon's light that he was still laying on the ground with his eyes closed and his headpĥone on. It seemed that he was sleeping but if they were to look carefully, they could see that his left hand's fingers were softly tapping on his body to the beat of the music only he could hear. He didn't hear them coming back so soon and seemed quite in peace, to be honest. "Desmond!" His small partner shouted as they got closer to him. That made the tamer open his eyes and lifted his head a bit. Removing his headphone, the Frenchman smiled weakly. "Found anything?" He would ask after yawning. "We found a weird Digimon!" Desmond could hear that the Digimon's voice carried worry. "Erm..." Shifting his body to sit, the blond male squinted to look in the darkness.
"Ha!" That voice made Desmond jump a bit because he didn't see the Prairiemon from where he was. "You should look at your face! Ha!" And he laughed loudly. The human tried to study the wild Digimon and so far, he was loud but did not seem hostile. He then looked at Calliope. "Who is he?" He would slowly ask. "I'm Prairiemon! Ha!" Desmond wasn't sure if he could trust the laughing Digimon so he looked at the girl to see if what she thought of him. "Are you guys okay?" He would then ask with a bit of concern in his tone.
"Ha! You four are funny! The boss was right to send me here!" Desmond wanted to stand but felt the pain on his ankle. "Urg." Giving up on standing, he then spoke to the Prairiemon with a clearer voice. "Boss? Are we trespassing? If so, we are sorry. I hurt myself so we came in to rest." He didn't mention that the Allomon just in case that that one was the boss he mentioned. Hoping that he was wrong, the tamer quickly apologized once more. "We can get out of this cave if you don't want us around." He was hurt but that didn't mean that he could walk. It would be painful but he did not want to be trespassing.
"Ha! You can ask the boss yourself! I'm sure that he is close by!"

Calliope was glad that Prairiemon accepted her apology at least they weren’t on the wrong foot with him. It somewhat bothered her that the Digimon didn’t take the situation seriously, if they were trespassing would it not get him in trouble with his boss for talking to them instead of getting rid of them. She raised a brow when the Digimon suddenly made the serious expression with regards to them having territories. She froze when he suddenly said that the boss knew they were here, the girl cursed under her breath that could spell trouble for them all if they weren’t careful. She seemed a bit concerned when the Digimon stated their boss didn’t like visitors her face went blank when he said he was joking “right…” all Calliope knew was she didn’t want to see or end up getting in a fight with the boss. She looked around as the Prairiemon gestured to everything around them it seemed empty but that was only because they couldn’t see beyond what there was: the dark and cave walls. “we’ll try not to disturb anyone." Mudmon gave a rather unamused squeak to the digimon’s offhanded comments. Calliope hoped they could avoid the boss but if it knew they were here it could be to late to do so. She heard DemiMeramon’s concern, the girl once again hushed the small fireball to keep from insulting Prairiemon “it’s alright DemiMeramon.” her head turned to look in the direction of the Digimon mimicking her words “he’s just a bit frightened any one can get spooked by a strange dark cavern, we wouldn’t hide anything that we know of” she wouldn’t know what they would be looking for. “we’ll be as careful as we can.”
Calliope seemed a bit discouraged when the Digimon suddenly laughed at her when she said they were looking for food, there probably wasn’t much there underground. Her hand immediately went in front of DemiMaramon when he said that they looked like food “I assure you I don’t intend to be made into a meal” it had almost happened once before, she wasn’t going to let it happen. Her eyes went to the little fire ball as it bravely jumped in front of her and Mudmon, Mudmon squeaked in concern. Prairiemon was starting to creep her out more and more as the conversation went on, did he know of larger Digimon that were around and just didn’t tell them? “well we won’t be sticking around long enough for the ones that do to find us.” The girl slowly nodded when the Digimon repeated her word “yeah a human, not from here” she shook her head “I might be tall but I now know there are things a lot bigger than me living in this place.” it became unnerving when the Prairiemon told her not to break her leg, did it know Desmond was hurt? “I won’t”
she called back and continued running through the caves with a little Digimon on her leg. After calling for Desmond and seeing he was there, a sense of relief came over. Calliope let out a sigh she realized the Prairiemon had followed them from the underground river. She was about to approach the blond tamer to check if he was okay but his movements showed that he was alright. Letting DemiMeramon hover over to see his tamer Calliope looked back to the strange Digimon “I see you followed us from the river” her tone seemed to carry a bit of concern over its intention of following them. Her attention then turned on to Desmond as he slowly got up but still she still had her eyes fixed on Prairiemon. When he asked if they found any food Calliope shook her head “nothing other than a water source and… um” she paused when DemiMeramon chimed in “yeah that” she waited for Desmond to address the creature that followed them back. As she sat down the little Mudmon that was in her bag it looked at Prairiemon then bounced over to it before Calliope could intervene. “Muuuuuu” the Mudmon just gazed at the Digimon as it laughed. Calliope folded her arms as Desmond examined the new Digimon “it saw you here earlier when we left, we got concerned and we came back to make sure you were alright.” She was about to answer his question on who it is when Prairiemon answered for her “what he said” she shrugged her shoulders at the boy in regards to her opinion on the Digimon. She doubted that if she told Prairiemon to go away it would do anything “we’re alright” she was a bit out of breath from running so fast. The girl tapped her foot when the Digimon said his boss was right to send him, she went to make sure Desmond didn’t stand on his foot “don’t stand up you’ll make it worse” Mudmon returned to her side as she continued “it seems we’re in the bosses territory, but hopefully we’ll have a better chance with the boss rather than the thing that chased us down here” if they were lucky they could talk there way out of the situation rather than fight. She turned to Desmond when he said that they could get out of the cave “where would we go? The walls of the crater are too steep for either of us to climb in the state we’re in.” Calliope took a seat on the ground when the Prairiemon said that they could ask the boss and that he was near by “how near ar-” the ground rattled a bit, the girl paused “never mind…” the large opening of the deeper areas of the cave revealed a large figure. Upon emerging from the shadows it showed itself to be a Golemon, with an intimidating booming voice he spoke “Well Well Well what do we have here?!”

The Prairiemon began laughing when the loud booming voice of the boss was heard. "Oh boy, oh boy! Ha!" And he began tapping the ground with his foot. "Boss! They are funny! Ha!" By funny, he meant funny to him. Scared would have been a better word. Desmond jumped a bit upon seeing the large Golemon coming out of the shadow. By the tone of his voice, he did not sound very friendly. The blond tamer tried to move his legs and felt a stinging pain on his ankle. Grimacing at the pain, the Frenchman tried to stand up anyway but his little partner held on to his jacket stopping him in the process. It seemed that the DemiMeramon was concerned seeing the expression on his face. The Digimon looked at him with a sad puppy face and held on his clothing tightly. "I don't want to see you hurt, Desmond." He whispered. Desmond placed a hand on the Digimon's head and tried to smile. "It's okay, they won't..."
"I will protect you!" The DemiMeramon quickly shouted before going in between them and the Golemon. He just tried to make himself as big as possible, which isn't that much bigger due to him being small in the first place. He was scared, very much so but he wasn't going to let those two hurt his friends. His whole body was shaking and his body glowed brighter for a second. "DemiMeramon!" Desmond would then shout making the Digimon turn around. "It's okay, come here." Confused by hearing his tamer that it was okay, the little fireball would hesitate for second before slowly floating back to Desmond. "Don't worry, it's going to be alright."
"Ha! Don't be scared!" The Prairiemon then shouted while still tapping the ground. "The boss doesn't eat Digimon! Ha!" Desmond wasn't sure how he felt that this one. He didn't seem hostile but it was clear that he was very happy to be able to make fun of them. Hopefully, the Golemon would be as friendly. "She said that she's a human! Ha! No idea what that is." While some Digimon knew what a human was, this Prairiemon did not. "They sure run fast though! Ha! Could barely follow them! Ha!" The blond tamer felt like a burden because of his ankle and really sad that he couldn't move that much. He could try to stand up but he was pretty sure that none of his friends would let him do so. "We won't stay here if you want us out." He then said calmly and clearly. "I hurt myself and was being chased by some kind of big Digimon so we decided to hide in here."
"Ha! There's a lot of big scary Digimon out there!" The small vaccine Digimon said before making few hops toward his boss. "Good thing that big boss here protects this place! Ha!" Hearing that, Desmond became less worried. If this big rock like Digimon was keeping this place safe, then maybe he was a good Digimon. Unless he saw them as trespassers of his territory. Looking at Calliope to see if she had something to say about this situation, the blond tamer then turned his attention to the Golemon. "We won't fight you, that I can promise you." After saying that, he grabbed the DemiMeramon and kept him in his arms so that he wouldn't go away. He wasn't sure if he should keep direct eye contact with the big Digimon so he just kept looking at Calliope and the Prairiemon and then back to the Golemon. After a few seconds, he slowly released his partner so that he could provide light for all of them. He was pretty sure that the Digimon didn't need it but Calliope most likely did.
"Sorry about him, he's thought that you were a bad guy." Desmond would say. "You are a good guy, right?"

The large Digimon hunched over in order to fit it’s structure in the smaller cave area to balance itself Golemon leaned forward pounding its large hands onto the ground on both sides a few feet away from the smaller humans “Funny looking is more like it Prairiemon good work keeping an eye on them” he chuckled. He gazed on as both humans flinched at his large stature, Mudmon peaked out from behind Calliope squeaking in awe over Golemon. Calliope in response quietly pushed the Digimon back behind her.
Her head turned to Desmond as he tried to stand up, fortunately his Digimon stopped him before she had to. Her attention turned back to Golemon while DemiMeramon spoke to Desmond, there only means of escape is to make a break for the cave entrance but in Desmond’s condition there was a snowball’s chance in hell of that working out. Calliope jumped up when DemiMeramon shouted and floated between them and Golemon “don’t antagonize him” she choked. Mudmon hopped out from behind the girl and ran in front of the Digimon “not you too.” The large Golemon stared at the two tiny Digimon as though he was waiting for them to break under pressure from his intimidation. He inched his face closer to the fire Digimon as it glowed brighter, then abruptly turned it’s eyes to the human male when he called back the fireball. The Golemon Guffawed when DemiMeramon went back to Desmond “I’ll give you this you have guts buddy not many Digimon can stare me in the face without cowering in fear.”
Calliope turned to Prairimon when he stated Golemon doesn’t eat Digimon “well eating is only one thing, that doesn’t account for throwing, squashing, or crushing” she stated cautiously, in all honesty his size didn’t bring any comfort. Golemon looked down to see Mudmon he places one of his large hands down showing how tiny she was compared to it “I only do that to things that deserve it” he plucked the small Digimon up from the ground and to the panicked human’s surprised he simply dropped the Digimon to her hands. He looked at Prairiemon “a human? It’s a creature that doesn’t come from the digital world they don’t look like much but can be very clever.” Calliope hugged onto her Digimon “I was worried about Desmond since you said you walked by earlier and he didn’t see you” she stepped out in front of Desmond putting herself between him and Golemon. She still was afraid of the larger Digimon but she didn’t want him to get hurt anymore.
Golemon leaned closer as he did with DemiMeramon, then snorted a puff of air that almost knocked her over. Seeing she was still standing he backed off “hmm.” Golemon listened to Desmond say they would leave then state how they got there in the cave “you both look like you took a good thrash… big Digimon around here you say?” he took a pause as Prairiemon stated that he was there to protect the cave “yes that’s my job, the only big Digimon I know around these parts is that Dino-chump Allomon, he’s been a thorn in my side for a while.” Calliope looked to Desmond and whispered “Allomon must be the Digimon DemiMeramon chased off…” Golemon seemed a bit surprised overhearing her whisper. Calliope looked to Golemon “we kinda made the entrance to the cave bigger by using Allomon’s head.” Golemon let out a burst of laughter “I wish I coulda been there to see it.” his laughter died down as he heard the blond tamer’s promise not to fight him “considering the reason you ended up in my cave I have no doubt that none of you are in a position to fight” the Digimon stood up then plopped himself sitting down on the ground, the ground rattled enough to knock the human girl off her feet. Golemon gave a gruff chuckle to Desmond’s apology “he’s a spit fire I’ll give him that, and anyone who goes head to head with Allomon and lives to chase him away most certainty gets credit from me.” He leaned his chin on the back of his hand “good guy huh?... well if your asking to rest up here then I’ll be a good guy and let you stay” a sigh of relief came from the girl before he continued “once your better to move ill have Prairiemon show you an exit that leads away from Allomon, you can only stay here for a while… some outsider Digimon might not appreciate me housing humans and I can’t risk the Digimon of my territory for a permanent protection solution… I’m sorry in advance”

The Prairiemon began hopping closer to his boss. "They chased the big Allomon away? Ha!" He didn't really believe them to be honest. The DemiMeramon was so little even compared to him. "No idea how you did that but if you did, well congratulations! Ha!" This mental image of the fireball trying to run around the Allomon was hilarious to him. There was just no way that he could have done that so he just laughed a lot.
Desmond had to admit that he was quite relieved knowing that the Golemon was willing to let them stay for a while. He did, however, make it clear that he preferred to see them go as soon as possible. Well, that was way better than getting crushed. The blond tamer exhaled slowly as his heart began beating slower. He was surprised that he knew what a human was, perhaps he met some before. Nodding when Calliope said that the big dinosaur was an Allomon, Desmond smiled a bit before giving his partner a pat on the head. "Heard that?" He asked the DemiMeramon. "Heard what?" He replied with a question. "The Digimon you chased away was an Allomon. He was definitively a bad guy." The little Digimon had no memories of him digivolving into a Meramon or fighting that Allomon so he was very confused. He kept on looking at his tamer without saying anything. After a while, the male tamer just hugged him before putting him back on the ground. The DemiMeramon liked the hug but still had no clue that he chased the Allomon away.
Looking at Calliope, Desmond then looked at his ankle. The ice was helping but he didn't want to stay here any longer than needed. While he was sure that none of them wanted to see him try to stand up, he would have to do so sooner than later. He would have to stand and walk while trying to not look like he was in pain. Mentally preparing himself, the Frenchman took a deep breath and bend his knee to place his foot closer to him. It wasn't painless but he wanted to take a good look at how badly his ankle was right now. He peeked his head to one side and used his hand to touch his ankle. It wasn't broken from what he could touch. Not that he really knew what it would have looked like if it was broken. None the less, he tried to put some pressure on the ankle to stand up but only managed to go off the ground for a few seconds before sitting down. He might need a bit more time to recover.
"Sorry, I'm afraid that I'm not able to properly stand for now..." Desmond said hoping that the Golemon didn't mind. "Maybe if I had one cane... Or a crutch... Like a big straight stick." He was pretty sure that he wouldn't find that in the cave though. If anything, they would have to go outside for that and he didn't want to risk it, not now at least. The human felt defeated and like a burden to Calliope and their partners. "Give me like erm... Five minutes?" He wasn't sure if he would be able to walk in that amount of time but he just wanted to let the Golemon that he wasn't going to overstay his welcome.
If Golemon would agree on giving them a few more minutes, Desmond would press the ice on the side of his ankle that hurt to most. He wanted to be numb for a bit. Once he can stand, he wouldn't be able to run but should be good to walk, or limp. He would stay silent, letting Calliope talk if she felt that way. The DemiMeramon would be listening to the lady while emitting enough light for them to see. When the five minutes were gone, or what it felt like five minutes, Desmond would ask Calliope to come closer so that he could use her help to try to stand up again. The pain was there but his Caiiope's help, he finally managed to stand straight. For a few seconds that is. He just lifted his ankle up to only use his other leg to support his weight. "I think we can go now." He would say while looking at the girl. "If you can hold me like that, I can hop and surely walk in a few more minutes."
And with that, he was ready to go. If the female tamer would object to him trying to move, Desmond would try to convince her that he really wanted to get out of here. "Prairiemon, could you show us the way out?" He would as the Digimon that was patiently waiting next to his boss. "Of course! Ha!" He then looked at the Golemon. "Ha! Which way do you want me to go?" He knew all the exit to the cave and there were a few of them, some farther than the others. "How about the one next to the river?" He then proposed. "Leads right into the forest! Ha!"

Golemon looked over to Prairiemon “sometimes there’s more than meets the eye Prairiemon, that ruckus everyone was so worried about earlier must have been them fighting Allomon…” he paused stroking his chin “the fact that their standing here says something Allomon isn’t exactly the type to give up so easily” his eyes looked to the strange device that the tamer possessed “that thing I’ve seen it before, another human had one and they were able to make a Digimon digivolve… that’s how you all were able to stand up to Allomon, am’iright?” Calliope stood up from falling over and looked at the Digivice Desmond had lent her for her cave exploration, handing it back to the blond tamer she nodded. Golemon sighed “housing humans is bad enough but housing them when they have those things can get a Digimon in quite a bit of trouble.”
Calliope was immensely confused about who was out there looking for humans but at the moment it wasn’t that important “we’re not by any means trying to get you and your territory in trouble, we just needed to rest up then we would be on our way.” Her head turned when Desmond tried to jog the little fireball’s memory regarding his fight with the dino Digimon “if Allomon shows up again I don’t think we’ll be as lucky as we were last time.” Golemon pondered the human’s words for a few moments “the best I can do is offer you an escape route that leads away from where that Dino jerk hangs around.” Calliope nodded knowing that they were going to have to work with it in order to get away from Allomon.
Mudmon scooched over next to Desmond when he was checking the condition of his leg. Calliope turned to see her Digimon moving toward him then Desmond trying to look at his ankle. The girl barely got out a word before he had already brought his ankle closer to check. The look of concern was easily visible on her face, upon seeing it Golemon sighed “look I wish I could do more for you all but unfortunately being the boss means you have to prioritize even if it means cutting someone out.” Calliope listened to Golemon as she approached Desmond and took a knee next to him, upon him trying to stand up she readied herself to catch him if he lost balance. He seemed to only be testing his ability to walk. “don’t want to agitate the wound to soon It will make It harder to heal and walk.” Seeing the human unable to walk Golemon felt a little bad “don’t apologize you did me a favor dealing with Allomon I only wish I would have been able to help you more than I can.” Calliope looked around when he asked if there was something he could potentially lean on in order to regain his balance and walk “I doubt we would find anything like that in the cave but once we get out we could find a makeshift crutch” she placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder.
Golemon nodded when he asked for five minutes “go right ahead I’m patient... take a bit more time if you need it.” Calliope smiled “thank you Golemon for your help” Mudmon chirped happily agreeing with her partner. When Desmond began pressing the ice more on his ankle Calliope started thinking of a plan “once we get out of the cave we need to find an area devoid of open places for larger Digimon to attack or maybe try and find other people who understand this Digital world better than we do.” And if they were lucky they would find someone who has seen her brother.
She quickly complied when Desmond asked for her assistance in standing up, with her help it would be easier to alleviate the stress from his ankle. Fortunately she was pretty stable. She smiled seeing him finally able to stand up, Mudmon bounced up and down cheering for the blond tamer. Golemon nodded to the humans “it’s impressive that you can get back up so quickly after just receiving an injury.” The girl gripped on hand around his arm and the other around his waist to keep him steady “I can keep you balanced no problem.” Golemon folded his arms and listened to the human while he requested that Prairiemon show them the way out. Thinking about it for a moment he thought of the best place for them to go to ensure they ended up in the least possible amount of trouble. When coming up with a conclusion his voice spoke up “Prairiemon take them to the river there’s fresh water and it’s away from where Allomon normally hangs out… that will keep them out of trouble for the time being.” Before they would attempt to leave Golemon said one more thing to them before going back to the deep parts of the cave “always be aware of who’s watching, it could cost you dearly for a misstep”

Desmond was quite happy that Calliope was here. They barely met and he already felt that she was very kind to him. It has been a while since he was someone that stuck around like she did. Being taller than her, she did a pretty a good job keeping him balanced. The male human was hopping on his right leg and keeping the other one in the air. He would try to put pressure on his ankle after every twenty steps or so but with little success. A smile drew on the blond tamer's face before going to look at Calliope. Who was pretty close to him, well, she was technically holding him so they couldn't get much closer than that. Well, they could but then that would have been awkward. For him at least. Feeling her arm around him, he almost tripped once by not looking in front of him.
With her helping him move around in the cave while following the Prairiemon, it wasn't that bad for his ankle. He took a moment to look behind them and saw the DemiMeramon was now holding Mudmon in his tiny arms. The two were floating in zigzag just for the fun of it, also the two tamers weren't exactly going fast. A smile drew on the blond tamer's face before going to look at Calliope. "Wheeee!" He heard from behind. His little partner was having a lot of fun carrying the Mudmon around. "Mu!" He mimicked her. "Mu! Mu!" Desmond would sigh every time he would do that, poor Mudmon couldn't or didn't talk.
The four of them made their way toward one of the exits, following the underground river. "There we are! Ha!" The Prairiemon shouted as he jumped while spinning on himself. "The river leads south! Ha! Follow it and you will find a forest!" There was light coming out of the cave entrance as a sign of it still being sunny outside. Finally, he felt like they been in the dark for a very long time. "The trees will make it hard for any big Digimon to track you four. Ha!" And with that, he began laughing and hopped back into the deep cave before they could even say anything. "Erm, thanks?" All he could hear what the laughter echoing and the sound of water flowing. Desmond would stop before reaching the sunlight and blink a few times. It was most likely only maybe an hour or so in the afternoon. Before they could make a step, the DemiMeramon floated with Mudmon in his tiny arms next to them. "Oooooh!" The little Digimon shouted in wonder. The forest ahead was green and luscious. There was only one thing in their way, the way to the forest was a path going down. Desmond sighed, well at least it wasn't a cliff per say. But with his ankle, it would be hard for him to go down, without falling and dragging Calliope with him.
Desmond looked down and even considered just sliding down, but it wasn't that steep. He could roll down but that was a stupid idea. "DemiMeramon, be care-" Too late, the small fireball began going down with Calliope's partner in his arms. "Ful..." It was easy for them, he wasn't touching the ground so they had no difficulty at all. They reached the ground down there in a few seconds and then look behind them. "Desmond! Calliope!" And he put the Mudmon next to him. "Come down! It's fun!" The Frenchman sighed again. It wasn't going to be fun. "I don't see any safe way to get down..." He said while looking around them. There was pretty much only one way down.
"Calliope, you can go down without me..." He would half whisper already regretting saying that. "I mean, I'll be right behind you but it might be safer for you to go down before me." And he paused for a moment to look at her and realized how close their faces were to each other now that they were both not moving. Her icy blue eyes were mesmerizing and he just stood there, with his mouth slightly open. "Erm..." He couldn't even find words to say. "I..." And he stopped again as his cheeks went rose. He was so focused on her eyes that he didn't even hear his partner shouting his name. A long second later, Desmond lowered his bad ankle on the ground and felt a stinging pain making him grimace and jump a bit. "Sorry!" He shouted in embarrassment.
"Desmond!" The DemiMeramon screamed. "Come down! It's fun!"

She kept her eyes peeled while traveling through the cave and her grip tight on Desmond to ensure he didn’t fall over. Despite their overall size difference he wasn’t extremely heavy which made the process a whole lot easier. She would pause when ever he would try and put both his feet on the ground, she was going to try and scold him for it but he was eventually going to have to try and walk to make sure his foot was healing correctly. Calliope remained silent when following Prairiemon focused on any potential instructions from the weird Digimon. When the silence was seemingly permanent Calliope turned to Desmond, upon seeing his smile she returned it with one of her own. She looked back forward to ensure neither of them would take a tumble.
Calliope thought that Mudmon and DemiMeramon were being awfully quiet, turning her head she saw the fireball carrying the little mudball. A snicker emanated from the girl who found the whole scene amusing. She chuckled “don’t drop her DemiMeramon she’s still pretty little” she knew the Digimon was squishy but she would still feel better if she wasn’t dropped. Mudmon chittered happily being carried “Muuuuuu!” it was like watching two children play a game. “at least their having fun” Calliope smiled, she was glad the whole incident with the Allomon. The light finally showed signaling the end of the long cave journey “thank goodness” she said under her breath, the cave wasn’t terrible but she was not really the big cave person to begin with. Calliope looked down at Prairiemon as he stated to follow the river to find the forest, keeping a mental note of it. She listened to his further advice on how the trees would keep the larger Digimon from being able to track them “ah right, fair point.” Before they left the cave mouth Calliope looked over her shoulder at the cave “thanks for everything” even if he didn’t hear them it was still polite.
When they were in full view of the sunlight she simply closed her eyes and looked up for a moment “the sunlight actually feels nice here” it was warmer out in the open and more peaceful. She opened her eyes and looked as DemiMeramon floated past them with her Digimon. Giggling she spoke to the two Digimon “it’s pretty isn’t it?” the forest seemed thicker here than it was where she landed at which already showed a good sign they were on the right path. Calliope halted seeing there was a decline in the path that could prove a problem for the injured tamer “oh boy that’s going to be interesting to get down.” Calliope sighed trying to think about an easier way to get down but it seemed they would have to walk a lot longer around. She watched as the two Digimon simply floated down to the bottom of the decline. At least it was one less thing to worry about “now we can focus on getting ourselves down” she smiled. Looking at Desmond “I’m sure if we take it nice and slow we can get down there without falling.” She looked down at DemiMeramon when he stated that they should come down there with them “We’ll be down in a few minutes alright just don’t move.” Mudmon cheered them on next to DemiMeramon “MUU!” Calliope looked back at Desmond when he said that he didn’t see any safe way down the incline “right and we don’t know how far the incline spreads so walking around could be difficult.”
She tapped her foot thinking of a way to get down, halting when he said to go down without him. More like halted cause she didn’t really hear what he said in the whisper “hm?” she leaned a bit closer without thinking and tried to make sense of what he said. His next statement cleared up his prior “that might not be the best idea, the decline doesn’t have much for you to lean on and hopping will probably end with falling down.” She looked at him with concern as he seemingly paused once again. She raised a brow when he tried to speak but it was incoherent. She asked upon seeing his face redden a bit “you good?” she lightly gripped on his arm to try and snap him out of it. she was getting a bit more concerned since he wasn’t even addressing his own Digimon who called his name. she was about to say something else when he shocked himself out of it by stepping on his bad foot. Calliope quickly grabbed on to him to ensure he didn’t fall over or down the decline. Calliope chuckled loosening her grip “it’s alright just don’t fall, I don’t want you to hurt yourself worse.”
Still not liking the idea of Desmond trying to make his way down by himself Calliope removed her hand from around his waist while still gripping onto his arm. She extended her other hand for him to grip “here just hold on and it will make it easier to get you down.” While they were working on getting down the decline Mudmon saw the concern in her tamers face and wanted to help but she felt too little to effectively do anything. She seemingly pouted before puffing her cheeks making a squeaking noise, all she wanted to do was help and not be so little. A light emitted from Calliope’s Digivice and Mudmon abruptly burst into a flash of light. The light startled Calliope causing her to quickly turn her head to see the light grow to the size of a basket ball.

The DemiMeramon was waving his arms at his tamer to get his attention but Desmond wasn't paying attention to him. His eyes were riveted on Calliope as she released his waist and held his hands. His heart began beating fast. "Please don't fall." He whispered to himself with eyes wide open. To be honest, he didn't want to even try going down even with Calliope's help. What if he would to trip and fall, and fall with her, or fall on her? Or what if she would hurt herself trying to help him. In most scenarios, the blond tamer did not mind people helping him, he knew his limits in. And in this case, he could only see himself rolling down. With her. "Stop thinking about that." He whispered again just for him to hear. "And stop thinking out loud." This one might have been heard by Calliope. As the girl held his hands maybe waiting for something to happen, it was clear that Desmond was very stiff right now. His right foot was firmly on the ground and his left leg, the bad one, also touched the ground making him wince. "Please, please, don't fall down."
Back down there, as Mudmon digivolved into Sandmon, the fireball turned around to face the globe of light and see that she was now a ball of sand with a face. "Oooooooh!" The Digimon slowly inched closer and gently poked her on the cheek. She was still squishy! With another quick poke, he smiled and went for a big hug. "Mu!" He cheerfully sang while nuzzling his face onto hers. It was kind of sandy, little surprise but he didn't mind, she was so cute. "Mu!" He would hold the hug, most likely too for too long before letting go only to pinched her cheeks and pull them to make a derpy smile. "Look! Look!" The DemiMeramon shouted as he turned once more to see their tamers to show them the derpy face he made on the other Digimon. He could see Desmond not allowing Calliope to help him get down. He was like a statue, a very scared one too. Seeing his face made him worry at first. But then, it was kind of funny seeing him play tug of war with the smaller human. And so far, Desmond was winning?
Desmond's arms were now shaking due to him trying to hold her hands and stay on top of that small hill. Fear could be clearly be seen in his expression. His mind was telling him to either let go or go down. But he didn't want to let go, what if she loses balance and hurt herself? That would be all because he didn't have the courage to just go down. Hearing his partner laugh, Desmond titled his head on one side and saw the Digimon pointing at him while poking Sandmon. "Look! Look!" This time, he wanted Sandmon to look at the two tamers. "Do you think we should go help them?" He then asked while giggling. He had no idea on how they could be of help. If only he was bigger, he could have carried them down but for now, all he could really do is pull on his tamer's leg and make me fall down.
And back up there, Desmond whole body was now shaking. Calliope was pretty strong to be fair and she being lower gave her more weight to pull him. Closing his eyes, the blond tamer gave up and he felt both feet lifted off the ground. A very short second of him feeling his whole body take flight, he opened his eyes and saw Calliope's icy blue eyes from very, very close. And then, he could feel his body impact hers and both tamers began rolling down the small decline. Desmond instinctively braced for impact and his arms took hold of her body and held her body close to his. He felt his body hit the ground once, twice, thrice and a small rock to his lower back. After what it seemed like forever, the blond tamer body was pretty numb but at least he, or they actually, stop moving. The Frenchman opened his eyes while mumbling something in French.
And there, he saw Calliope's face. Very, very close to his own face. His eyes took a split second to adjust from vertigo and when he did, he could now see those icy blue eyes of hers. What he didn't know was that he was still holding her with his long arms. His face turned pink and then red very quickly. Heck, he could smell her from that distance. It was very awkward to him, he never had any girl that close to him. "Uh..." Clearly, his brain was also numb. Or maybe that it was those butterflies inside him messing with his thoughts. Or that rock from earlier, that one will leave a mark. Desmond wasn't sure what to say now, he could just say silent, awkwardly. Or maybe he could muster the brain power to say something coherent. "Are you... Alright?" That was pretty much all he managed to say.
A laugher could be heard from nearby. The DemiMeramon was waving his arms up and down and boy, he was laughing so hard. "See! It was fun, right?"

Calliope couldn’t wrap her mind around why he was so hesitant to try and walk down the decline, why not get it done and over with “the faster you get down the slope the faster it will be over with.” She didn’t want to pull on him and knock him over. Unfortunately if he was going to refuse to move she was going to have to try and pull him. “come on what are you so worried about?” she was completely unaware of his internal concerns of falling “it’s easy, just give it a try.” She looked back at the Digimon to make sure they were still waiting down there for them “we’ll be down in a few more minutes just keep where you are” she quickly turned her head when he said to stop thinking aloud “huh?” she raised a brow as to what he was talking about. It occurred to her that there was no chance of moving him, he just planted himself firmly on the ground. Seeing him wince from putting his foot down she sighed “come on don’t be stubborn your putting to much pressure on your bad foot.” Much to her dismay it didn’t do too much to convince him to move.
The glowing Digimon caused a moment of distraction for the girl trying to get Desmond down the mountain, upon the light fading she blinked a few times “what on earth?” The former Mudmon shook off sending sprinkles of sand flying in random directions. Sandmon blinked when DemiMeramon poked her face. The little Digimon began flailing her arms when the fireball gave her a hug “not Mu Sandmon, I’m Sandmon” her voice was soft and childlike. When DemiMeramon nuzzled her and called her Mu again she squeaked “Sand-Mon not MU!” she sighed when he finally released her, then squirmed when he suddenly started pinching her cheeks and pulling her mouth into a strange smile “OWW!” Sandmon flailed her little nubby arms “lemmie go I wanna help I wanna help!”
Calliope saw DemiMeramon tugging on Sandmon’s face, she called out to him “be careful DemiMeramon don’t hurt her.” She couldn’t hear her Digimon talking so as far as she was aware Sandmon’s appearance only changed. Looking back at the tall tamer she felt his hands were shaking suddenly and the look of fear in his face “Desmond what’s the matter, it’s not as bad as it seems?” she hadn’t seen him act like that before. He jumped down a vertical drop when they were escaping Allomon and this wasn’t even that drastic. If she just went down herself then he would be stuck at the top without the means to get down. Sandmon simply looked back at Desmond when DemiMeramon was poking her. Sandmon looked at the little fireball as he kept insisting that she looks at them “I’m looking I’m looking” she paused when he asked if they should go up their and help them “there’s not much we can do we’re to small.” As much as she wanted to help she knew they would be getting in the way if they went up now. “we just have to wait and see what happens for now” Sandmon sighed flopping to the ground.
Calliope saw Desmond visibly shaking, she still couldn’t wrap her mind around why he was so stubborn in trying to get down. She saw Desmond close his eyes, she thought to herself that he was finally ready to try and go down the decline. She was startled when he suddenly fell towards her “Wait what are you do-” she barely got a word out before he suddenly wrapped his arms around her then started tumbling down the decline. She went completely numb when they were rolling down. Sandmon winced as she watched them tumbling down the hill “Oof that’s really gonna hurt in the morning” she backed away from the very bottom of the Decline to prevent herself from being rolled over.
Once they finally came to a stop she took a few steps closer to make sure they were alright. When the feeling of rolling was over Calliope looked at Desmond or at least one of him, in her sight she saw at least 4 spinning images of the blond tamer at once. After a split moment of looking at him and seeing the wonky vision was still there she laid the side of her head on his chest and closed her eyes, she couldn’t really move and her body was still numb feeling. The only thing she could move was her arms which she used to try and grip his arm to balance herself. To no avail she couldn’t do it. her head perked a bit when she heard him try and say something. After a moment of silence he finally asked if she was okay, for another moment or two she remained still until finally moving a bit. She placed one hand on his shoulder and used it to pick herself up a bit. Her eyes scanned him still in a multivision daze, she slowly flopped back down placing her head back on his chest “I’ll be fine once I see one of you… better question is are you okay, you had me worried” she moved her hand from his shoulder to the ground next to him and managed to push her self up to a sitting position. She placed a hand on his forehead to feel for a fever once her vision went back to normal “are you okay actually okay though, why did you suddenly drop like that?” she thought it was possibly exhaustion of some sort. Sandmon meanwhile looked to DemiMeramon when he asked if it was fun “that didn’t look very fun to me”

While Calliope was dizzy, Desmond was still numb. Most of his body was numb, but that excluded his ankle. That he could feel and it hurts. It took a few seconds before he could feel his arms and legs. He kept thinking how stupid he was to have fallen and ended up rolling with Calliope. She could have gotten hurt really bad but luckily, she didn't seem too bad. A heavy sigh of relief came out of his mouth as he held his head with both hands. Opening his eyes, he then touched his glasses to see if they were broken. Fortunately, they were okay. It looked like they were pretty lucky to have nothing broken. As the brunette pushed herself off of him and sit next to him, the blond tamer also took a sitting position, if a bit slower and painfully. He looked at his feet and tried to move them a bit on each side. His right foot was still okay, nothing to complain about. Left ankle? This one was making his life difficult. Bending his right leg and using his hands to balance his torso by putting them on the ground slightly behind him, the tamer didn't know what to do next.
"I'm fine... I think?" He paused to look at her with his cheek still a bit pink. "I mean, I don't think I broke anything... But my ankle." Broken was most likely not the right word. Well, he really hoped that it wasn't broken. He was about to say something else when his partner floated above his left leg. "Desmond! Desmond!" He shouted even if they were face to face. "What?" The Frenchman bluntly said. "Look! Look!" And he began pointing at Sandmon while waving his other arm up and down. Desmond slowly turned his head and then saw the newly digivolved Sandmon. He stayed silent for a moment. She was bigger for sure. While he didn't exactly hear her speak to him directly, he was pretty sure he heard her say something after rolling down the hill. "She's a Sandmon! She doesn't say Mu anymore!" That was good, that meant that she could speak. He found it strange that she suddenly gained the ability to speak but everything was strange in here.
After looking at Sandmon, Desmond turned his attention back to Calliope. "I erm..." He wasn't sure how to describe what he did up there. "You were pulling me and I was pulling back so..." He paused for a second. "I mean, I should have let you guide me down there..." Another pause. "I guess I just, erm..." He mostly just let her pull him but he shouldn't have let her pull that hard. "My ankle hurt and I lost balance?" It wasn't exactly the truth but that seemed like a good excuse. Other than she saw him put weight on his ankle so that made him stupid. "I mean, I didn't want to roll down with you! It just happened that way..." His cheeks turned from pink to red. Looking at the ground to hide the fact that he was blushing. "Desmond." The Digimon said his name while poking his right leg. "Huh?" The DemiMeramon touched his own cheeks. "You are red."
"Shut... Shut up!" The blond tamer said out loud. That tone made his partner back up a bit and cover his mouth. Desmond then sighed before extending his hands toward the Digimon. "Sorry, didn't mean to shout at you." The Frenchman was waiting for the fireball to come to hug him but that doesn't happen. Instead, his partner just looked at him without saying anything. "Hug?" The fireball inched closer and then jumped into his arms. "There we go." The DemiMeramon was all smile now.
After the hug, Desmond looked at Calliope. "So erm... What do we do now?" He asked still on the ground. He wasn't sure if she was staying with him because of his injury. She did say that she was looking for her brother and he was just slowing her down. That thought made him a bit melancholic. Was he just a burden? Trying his best to not look sad, the blond tamer looked at the ground before looking at the sky above just to avoid eye contact with Calliope. "Desmond." Hearing his name, the man looked at his partner. "Are you crying?" He didn't even realize that his eyes were getting teary. "It's just the ankle." He lied knowing that the DemiMeramon wouldn't ask for another reason. Desmond would wipe the tears away and then turn his attention to Calliope. "We should get moving." He then said. "Prairiemon did say that the forest was safer..." The forest wasn't far at all. They could see the trees from where they were. Maybe few minutes of walking and they should be able to reach it.

Calliope eventually shook off the spinning feeling in her head. Sitting up the multi images she saw finally merged back into one still image. She removed her backpack sifting through it to ensure nothing was severely damaged, fortunately nothing was damaged. Looking over to Desmond she rubbed the back of her head “alright now there’s one Desmond, I’m all good now” she smiled casually. Seeing him reach for his glasses she sighed “I’m almost shocked that they stayed on so well” it probably would have been harder to get him to the forest if he couldn’t see where he was going. When he started to pick himself up she placed a hand on his shoulder to steady him it, it occurred to him that he did that while his foot was still injured. She was most likely going to scold him later but right now needed to get to a safer area. “well at least were down here it cut out the middle man” she re-closed her bag and threw her backpack over her shoulder.
Seeing him balance himself she wondered how he was going to be able to walk “just stay sitting for a moment, don’t try and move your foot.” She moved to sit on her knees while he was assessing the damage “honestly it would be surprising if it wasn’t broken, but I’m sure that’s not the only thing that’s hurt” sighed a bit. Calliope looked over to the floating fireball who called for Desmond. Tilting her head in confusion when he was waving his arms, her gaze followed where he pointed to the new Digimon who sat there. “Mudmon?” she asked quietly. The Digimon looked at her and charged into her arms, yep it was definitely Mudmon. The girl remembered what happened to DemiMeramon when he fought Allomon. She was preoccupied with falling down the hill so she didn’t even notice Mudmon vanished, all she saw was the bright light. “Sandmon huh?” she smiled at the little Digimon. When he said she didn’t say Mu she figured it meant she made another noise. Sandmon smiled saying “he’s right” Calliope’s jaw almost dropped “o-oh that’s what you meant” she was still a bit startled by the Digimon.
Turning towards Desmond she listened to the reason he fell down the hill, she realized she was kinda tugging on him “I’m sorry I just didn’t want you going down alone, it’s probably harder to try hopping down a hill.” She figured if he tried it by himself then he would probably end up falling the same way, it made sense that his ankle ended up tripping him “fair enough.” She didn’t fully believe it but the explanation was going to do for now. Sandmon hopped off her lap when she finally got up to her feet. She heard him freak out a bit when he was trying to say he didn’t mean to fall down with her “I’m not mad, it was just an accident.” She brushed herself off turning around to see him looking at the ground. Calliope didn’t see he was blushing until his Digimon pointed it out to him, she knelt back down to see DemiMeramon was right. He looked pretty flustered to her.
The girl jumped when he raised his voice to the little fireball. She hadn’t seen Desmond get that loud before at DemiMeramon, and it clearly scared his Digimon. Even Sandmon was behind Calliope, seeing DemiMeramon almost hesitate in returning to Desmond the girl felt bad. Fortunately it didn’t last and the Digimon jumped on the opportunity to hug his tamer. A sigh of relief came to Calliope as the Digimon began smiling again. Sandmon reappeared from behind Calliope when Desmond asked what they should do “we need to get to the forest since right now we are pretty much sitting ducks.” She looked around to make sure nothing was around them. “then we’ll figure out where to go from there” she continued on from her last statement. Turning around she saw Desmond was just looking up at the sky, she was getting ready to ask if he was okay when his Digimon got his attention first. Calliope was shocked that he was tearing up “Desmond?” Sandmon approached Desmond to make sure he was okay sitting her front leg nubs on his right foot. When he said it was his ankle Calliope knew that was a lie, and this time she was going to have to say something. She remained on her knees when he said that they should get moving, with a look of concern on her face “the forest isn’t going anywhere it can wait a few more minutes.” She was silent for another moment, then she reached out and pulled the blond tamer into a hug “we both know it wasn’t your ankle that caused it, just tell me what’s the matter.”
