"Look, I'm telling you, its right over here."
"And I'm telling you to stop worrying about it! It ain't the Dark Area, how bad could it be!"
Bad enough to pull an annoyed Zudomon off of his shift! But if his manager, a Shurimon (X) was going to drag him off to take a look, the ultimate supposed that he might as well humor him. "Sheesh, first we get called off our shift because of that giant statue, and now you're trying to tell me other stuff has cropped up?" Hoisting his hammer over his shoulder, the walrus gave a chuckle. "Sounds to me like we should have just called all this off."
"Oh, it might be much worse than that. The Locomon passed through... yes, here. Take a look." As the ninja perched atop a dune, the armored ultimate gave a walk around, peering a head around...
"Well, shit. I'll be damned."
It was nowhere near as pervasive as the Dark Area, but parts of the desert had already began to show signs of infection where the world was strained - such as a high-powered Locomon tearing a new track through the desert. Its tires, in its wake, had left a corrupted streak - and from that streak should have come only a benign amount of red lichen. But here, somehow, the entire expanse of track had been caked over by a tight red mass - and, somehow, three of these bizarre birds were visible. Tethered to the field, they buzzed around - flying via the blade around its waist, rather than what seemed to be its 'wings' - as if scanning the area around them.
"Tch... at least it seems to be keeping to itself..."
"But for how long?"

"But why the desert?" Dustin whined as he'd drag his feet along one of the dunes, sinking awkwardly with each step. Not to mention the amount of sand that was getting everywhere. Theo on the other hand had absolutely no issue making his way around the sandy terrain, seemingly unobstructed by both the heat and the sand. His tamer on the other hand was already exhausted. "You're getting old, Dustin. We used to love this place! Besides, got a hunch!" The Lopmon gave a wink at his partner as he'd begin to ascent a large dune, leaving the later to ponder exactly when he said he loved the folder desert.
The faint sound of a Locomon storming through the sand nearby and the visible dust cloud it raised gave the human hope. At least they wouldn't have to walk bad, maybe that alone could get him to relax a little bit. Theo on the other hand didn't seem to mind one way or the other, having overtaken his partner by several meters during the ascent. The rabbit hopped on top of the dune, taunting his partner playfully. It wasn't until he turned around that's his energetic hopping would be brought to a halt.
"Huff... almost..." Dustin was nearing the top finally, a solid minute having passed since. It was only when he diverted his attention from trying to catch his breath to Theo that he noticed something was wrong. "Huh, why are you staring into the distance, Theo?" The answer to that came swiftly. The moment he poked his head above the dune to be exact.
"W-what's that...?" Before them a bizarre creature stood motionless, hovering above the ground. A large cable like structure connecting it to something. A Digimon perhaps? Something in Dustin's gut told him to avoid that thing at all costs, but Theo had other ideas. "Looks like fun." The Lopmon declared, resting his palms against his hips and he'd stare at the entity ahead. "Or trouble!" Dustin retaliated. "Same thing." Came a swift counter from Theo.

No... the time for sitting around and anticipating the next crisis was over. Lethal substances, terrorists, black corruptions... and the crimson parasite that was called the D-Reaper. Though calamitous in their own rights, these were likely only the tip of the iceberg of the plague that was starting to infect the digital realm. As if mindless naturalism and inchoate civilization weren't enough of a time-killing endeavor to deal with, now vile forces actively sought to undermine progress of several eras.
But Cion would not permit them another single quarter. She was done with patience, hesitation and clemency. These things did not adhere to any logic nor reason. Call her whatever naive people of supposedly pure goodwill desired to - astray, holier-than-thou, violent, zealous, frenetic - it ceased to be of importance to the ancient soul that had watched and held her fire for far too long. With the apex-power of her final form and the resources as a PROFIT officer at her disposal, the status quo would either change willingly or by her hands - at the soonest.
The Folder Desert, as much as it was a barren wasteland, was still not a location that insane, blood-red entity would be granted by the fervent mercenary. Residing inside the cockpit of her extremely speedey partner Vertigo, the restrained Arniomon had no issue ordering his companion to immediately pursue the signals of infection upon receiving them. Every free minute spent not having a mission requiring her attention would be utilized to vanquish an infestation like that. Today was no different.
From afar, the AceJetmon MM pinpointed the presence of three of those pseudo-avian constructs they had already encountered before when fighting the vitiated VenomMyotismon. Plenty of bystanders that were luckily sufficiently far away as to not be noticed by these minions... and to not be caught by the detonation. "Approach, then obliterate them." Cion instructed firmly to which Vertigo responded in a calm, businesslike tone for he too had a bone to pick with them. "Affirmative, ma'am."
As the booming noises of flaring jet engines became audible to the individuals present in this empty landscape, the airborne machine descended to a couple hundred meters above ground. Recognizing that his targets were 'tethered' to the mass of their own doing, shellfire seemed like the most effective course of action. Three for one was certainly a pleasant prospect. His two, massive weapons quickly accumulated power, emitting an azure, pulsating light.
"Fission Mortar!" The synthetic digimon bellowed as a large beam of unstable energy got unleashed by him. Dashing with tremendous velocity towards the earthbound fiends, the silver fennec awaited the incoming, tactical nuclear explosion with a rapt yet condescending smile. Though her thoughts often strayed to the infected totem stored inside her Infini-Store knotted into her screen scarf... this was going to be salubrious.
Vertigo utilized the ability 'Fission Mortar' to bombard the D-Reaper Agents

Of course something like this was bound to draw attention - and with Dustin and Theo making their approach, Shurimon simply gave a nod to the Zudomon. The ultimate, taking one glance at the small D-Reaper field, gave a nod back, and lumbered his way over to the two newcomers.
"Fun, you say? Hah, no, your partner's got it right!" Giving a hearty laugh, hammer rested casually on his shoulder, the turtle gave a glance over his shoulder. "This same sort of creature caused a bit of trouble in the Dark Area a while back - but its not like these sorts can do much. Honestly, we're trying to figure out more why it showed up, rather than how to deal with such a small... nest..."
The roaring sound of the AceJetmon's engine rocketed overhead, quickly bringing their glance skyward. "What in the..."
"Zudomon!"
"Right!" Outside the range of the radiation or not, the shockwave from the fighter jet's cannons was enough to kick a lot of heated sand in the air, the turtle kneeling down, to cover both Dio and Theo from the brunt of it! The Shurimon pulled back as well, the very nature of Cion's attack rending the Scouts themselves asunder, pulled away into red group, then a copious amount of trash data.
That might have seemed like enough - but AceJetmon's sudden burst of an attack had caused perhaps more problems. In this 'soft spot', where a mere Locomon's interference had caused the corruption, AceJetmon's cannons had torn through even more of the area's space. Around the crater, a new ring of red mass had shown up - and directly attacked, the D-Reaper was forced into a defensive state.
In a flash of red light, the amount of red mass in the area greatly lessened, a rather terrifying creature taking its place:
'Paratice Head'. Standing at the height of a modern office building, the creature looked up - then leaned back, its yellow beaks opening in mass. Red lights built up in the center of each, red bullets shooting out into the surrounding airspace in great numbers. Each would fly up and explode - intent on both damaging the AceJetmon directly, and disrupting the air current to make the airspace itself too turbulent for tenable use!
Log:
The Scouts have been destroyed. The D-Reaper enters a defensive posture. A 'Paratice Head' is spawned as a high-level anti-air unit.
'Empty Shot' is used.

Theo looked at the turtle Digimon towering above him with a perplexed look, a tiny paw pressing against his chin. Dustin was catching up from behind as the rabbit gave a hasty nod. "Huh, so you're saying you met this this thing but failed to get rid of it?" It was around then that the bombs connected, catching the Lopmon mid sentance as his tamer arrived from behind. Thankfully the Zudomon was abale to shield both of them from the collateral damage that ensured. "Theo!" The human practically forced himself through the ultimate level's arms to reunite with his partner.
"I told you we should have just left!" Theo struggled to escape Dustin's tight clutch, but he found himself feeling extremely glad the Zudomon was there to protect them. "I get it. I get it. Lemme go." Some whining later the pair turned toward the walrus Digimon, unsure what to make of this. "What was that...? You're planning to take this thing out now?" The airstrike appeared effective, if only for a few moments. "Didn't seem to work." Chimed in Theo, now casually strolling behind his tamer and effectively using him to hide.
The practice head was a terrifying sight to see, especially from that close. Though Dustin had seen his fair share of battles, something about this adversary felt extremely wrong. A feeling in his gut told him he should run. Glancing over at his usually cheerful partner to see him struggling to keep himself composed only served as a confirmation. "How dangerous is this thing? Your friend looks like he's in trouble." The AceJetmon was certainly in a tight pinch given how rapidly the entity was firing. "We should fight, Dustin."
The tamer held his Digivice, clutching it tightly for a few silent seconds. He knew he couldn't abandon the group, especially after the Zudomon had just saved Theo, but at the same time something primal told him to make a run for it. Theo on the other hand seemed to be gaining control over is fear already. "I'm ready, let's bust this thing's... heads open...?" He paused, raising an eyebrow at his own comment as Dustin shushed him, gently placing a hand atop of the Lopmon's head to keep him still. "You've encountered this creature before. What are our odds if we fight?"

For a single second, a rapt yet slightly venomous smile graced her muzzle as Cion beheld the glorious destruction of the D-Reaper's winged minions. With her partner's scanners indicating that none of the possibly innocent bystanders had been wiped out by his merciless assault, considering the result a win-win situation was a given. Hopefully, the lads and gals down there had comprehended her reasoning behind her actions and would grant her forgiveness. If no... so be it.
Unfortunately, as much as the dissipating goo tainting the desert indicated this, it was far too early to celebrate her victory. Rapidly emerging from its own slag was a colossal, hideous monitor that did not take kindly to the duo's unexpected, devastating attack. Though indifferent towards this thing's feelings, comparing it in size and probably power to the enslaved VenomMyotismon she had vanquished before was likely an insult to this... antibody.
"My goodness..." She whispered irately, not unable but unwilling to comprehend this cataclysmic entity. How was she supposed to defeat something like that once and for all? If that towering creature was a mere spawn of the core, then what was it truly capable of - and how could she feasibly achieve a higher level of might? Those were questions that needed to be answered, but not during this battle. First, she had to assure that both she and the AceJetmon MM were not obliterated by the uncountable amounts of lasers heading their way. Remembering past outcomes, the restrained Arniomon refused to allow further damage to her treasured friend.
"Vertigo! Engage 'Air Support Protocol'!" "Affirmative!" As this procedure got confirmed by the two mercenaries, the Paratice Head's ionized artillery detonated in their airspace, including directly in front of the intelligent aircraft. However, as cinders and shock waves quickly ceased, only one warrior stayed in sight for the vile manifestation to defend itself against. The mechanical construct had already turned into a grain of dust amidst the eternal blue above them, securing assistance from a surefire distance - presumably safe from dangers such as corrosive bats.
Cion meanwhile floated in midair behind a massive, prismaticly transparent force field dome that had covered her and her faithful companion. What sufficed for several advances of digimons of her league ought to suffice for this abomination - at least she hoped so. In any case, the silver fennec speedily descended as her barrier dematerialized, wishing to be 'on the same eye level' with the fell adversary. A space of many dozens of meters remained between them, yet the ancient sentinel did not hesitate to display her contempt through a grave expression.
"Missed me?" She sarcastically wondered as a sudden, aureate aura of blazes engulfed the tiny fox. Within a few seconds, her body ruptured brilliantly into her unleashed form; a frame of incorporeal, wafting incandescence surrounded by two oceans of golden stars that violently danced around her neck and hip. Her winds caused by her current position made her appear like a living solar eruption - gorgeous yet destructive. That was exactly what she desired to be perceived as in the hope that the titanic beast kept its entire focus on her, not the baffled strangers. "Round 2... darling?" She asked rhetorically, her voice turned ethereal in sound.

Though Paratice Head had not managed to destroy its target outright, the construct had still managed to set off a number of concentrated explosions in the surrounding airspace. Cion might have been mostly unaffected thanks to her shield and her own 'unique' brand of flight, but the pocket of airspace itself became choppy and unusable for flight, the resulting wind even splitting down to kick up the sand from below.
However, it was easy to ignore that fact: the Arniomon had immediately drawn the attention of the behemoth, the construct's head turning to face her direction. Her expression was both confident and defiant, enough to make the agent's beaks click in response... not that she'd be able to make anything out of the resulting noise, incomprehensible garbling against the ears:
☜︎■︎⧫︎♓︎⧫︎⍓︎ ♏︎⌧︎♍︎♏︎♏︎♎︎⬧︎ ♋︎♍︎♍︎♏︎◻︎⧫︎♋︎♌︎●︎♏︎ ●︎♓︎❍︎♓︎⧫︎📬︎ ☼︎♏︎⬧︎◻︎□︎■︎⬧︎♏︎🖳︎ ⧫︎♏︎❒︎❍︎♓︎■︎♋︎⧫︎♏︎📬︎."
Was that its greeting, a random utterance, or simply venting? It was likely too late to think of that now, as all of the yellow beaks of the beast snapped open at once - a guttural scream radiating from each and every point, one that would cause severe pain to the ears of all who fell into its range. For Cion, the effect might be even worse: the D-Reaper itself was an entity that sought to destroy data that exceeded its 'acceptable limit', and as a Super Mega of her own, the Arniomon was definitely a target for their ire.
The beast would continue its radiating scream for several seconds, hoping to simply overwhelm that 'mere god' that flew before it. If Cion was left completely in dire straits, it would reach up a hand to try and pluck her from the air.
"Damn it, you think I know?!" The Zudomon itself found himself in a pinch, his hammer soon ringing from the sound. He had to shout over the noise just to be able to be heard - but despite the Lopmon's typically sensitive ears, this current level of noise would be little more than a buzzing to him.
"It brought the Dark Area to its knees with just one nest... ugh, all I know is that its cables allow it to regenerate. If you two go for it, I'll help - but if you back up, I'll cover your retreat!"
Log:
Cion has drawn Paratice Head's Ire. Paratice Head uses 'Destabilizing Scream'.
Destabilizing Scream: A sonic attack is unleashed from all of the Paratice Head's beaks, a high-pitched howl radiating through the air. This attack scales with the enemy's level: a Rookie or a Champion experiences minor discomfort, an Ultimate feels great pain, a Mega feels that pain throughout their body, and a Super Mega might be left in sheer shock.

Dustin seemed lost in thought for a few moments. Despite the racket between attacks and that god awful screech, somehow he managed to enter deep contemplation. His eyes darted between the monstrosity and Theo, The Zudomon was dishing some kind of advice, but the tamer was too preoccupied to pay any attention. Eventually, a hand would reach for the Lopmon, which had managed to wrap his ears around his head, effectively suppressing most of what he perceived as a persistent buzz as he'd focus on the Zudomon. "I think it's a bad idea, but I'll support you, buddy." A light pat on the rabbit's head completed the sentence as Theo seemed to pull away, somewhat embarrassed. Though he wouldn't admit it, he appreciated the gesture of being given the call, but his nature wouldn't allow him to downright admit that. "Hah, no need to be so melodramatic, Dustin. We never ran away from a fight before and these people could use our help otherwise they might, you know, die a horrible death." The Lopmon winked as the Zudomon, crossing his arms behind his head. "What? It was juuust a joke." He'd hastily add, trying to maintain a level headed visage. The tamer on the other hand found himself feeling awkward, giving their newfound ally an embarrassed smile on behalf of Theo. "It looks like those two are doing a pretty good job of distracting it. We should take this opening." Though hesitant, Dustin pulled out his D3. It had definitely seen some use, but that didn't make it any less functional. Nothing a good scrub down couldn't fix. He'd shoot the Zudomon a look, seeking affirmation, before the device began to glow as did Theo. Moments later the Lopmon was no more. Instead a much larger, humanoid rabbit took his place. Antylamon towered over Dustin, assuming a much more composed posture as he'd size down his target. Despite his increased size, he still felt small compared to the practice head, though that would possibly be his greatest weapon. "Approach with caution, try to find an opening but keep your distance." Dustin's worry was painfully obvious as he'd run over the plan with his partner. Theo on the other hand seemed eager. "Yeah, yeah. Got it. Go in, do a lil' snip snap, then come here. Then possibly noodles?" The only reaction the human had was a sigh, followed by a gentle smile. "Sure. Sounds good to me, Theo." He'd mumble, turning to the Walrus. "Sacred Axe!" Antylamon would call, bringing his palms together as he'd begin preparations for his attack, eyes shutting. "Please watch over him." The human's comment to the Zudomon was more akin to a whisper, which was a bad tactic in this racket, but at the same time saying that in front of Theo seemed like the worse alternative. [Summon: Sacred Axe]: After a 1 post meditation, Antylamon summons a pair of axes that empower all offensive abilities, causing them to deal an additional 50% of their damage for 3 posts. Was the D-Reaper and its spawn not only capable of assimilating matter and other entities, but also disrupt space-time through sheer power? Whatever the effects were that affected pockets of air above her, they concerned Cion deeply. Though not letting her guard nor confidence down in the slightest, it was not difficult for her to admit that this was truly alarming. Had it gotten stronger by spreading? If yes, then she had to put an end to its parasitic path for good lest it became too powerful to be stopped by her or anyone else.
Too much at stake - too many people relying on her actions - she must not fail. Glad that she got the abomination's attention, the living sun was however confused about the response it gave to her. Was it incapable of speaking the common tongue, or was it merely its way to mock her supposed lack of knowledge and understanding. For once, what she encountered did not appear to be a hubristic fiend, but a vile force of nature, hence this time her theory ended up being the former. Not that it made a lot of difference, but it provided a better grasp of the endeavor she faced
Unfortunately, that hardly mattered as the titanic parasite's primal, bloodcurdling scream echoed throughout the sandy desert. The sensation the vulpine, cosmic sentinel felt was almost indescribable, although comparing it to a lightning's electric charge activating every nerve of a human body was probably accurate. It was not pain, but akin to a heavy punch in the chest. Breathing was nearly impossible, as was moving but a single muscle. It was agony in a way the unleashed Arniomon had seldom if not never experienced before - and a bane she did not wish to impose on her worst enemies.
Barely able to see straight, it was the massive monster's approaching arm and claw that enabled Cion to tap into her unyielding willpower. It required but a twitch of hand to snap her fingers, time visibly and quickly warping and rewinding around her billowing, aureate frame. As if suddenly awoken from a nightmare, the ascendant in full control of her being instantly reclaimed predominance in this encounter. Utilizing lingering energies from her own ability, she rapidly dashed backwards as to avoid the incoming clutches - a golden bolt amidst a barren, dull wasteland. In the same motion, she launched her first ethereal javelin at the Paratice Head's arm.
---
Meanwhile, a strange, protected device abruptly impacted with the ground close to the earthbound group, dispersing a minor amount of sand. Swiftly, it assembled itself autonomously to fulfill its three primary functions - shielding, healing and stabilization in case of severe harm. Naturally, this was a gift of Vertigo the AceJetmon Mach Mode, send down from the sky as he had concluded that at least the recently digivolved hare warrior was willing to engage the beast in combat. Thus some support while his main weapons recharged did not hurt.
Battle Log:
Passive: - Numen Aeternum: Reduced Physical Strength - Increased Maximum Health, Defenses and Pain Threshhold.

With the Arniomon immobilized in midair, the D-Reaper was prepared to simply remove this 'threat to the Digital World' - the sound echoed out for those precious few seconds, and all the Paratice Head had to do was simply snap up the creature in its grip.
Well, it wouldn't be quite that simple. Somehow, Cion had managed to right herself, and even managed to distance herself from the grip - and even counter with a spear, sinking deep into that extended agent's arm. It sunk in deep, sticking through both sides of the arm. However, the Paratice Head didn't show any pained reaction, even as that electrical shock burned away at the surrounding flesh.
"✡︎□︎◆︎ ⬥︎♓︎●︎●︎ ■︎□︎⧫︎ ❍︎♋︎♓︎■︎⧫︎♋︎♓︎■︎📬︎"
Once more, that brief growl would echo out, before the Paratice Head would prepare its next trick: the beaks on its palm, arm, and front side all opened in unison. Rather than fire an 'Empty Shot' or unleash a sonic attack, however, the beast instead began to create a gale...
... Pulling in the sand and the surrounding air straight towards its beaks. A powerful suction took hold of the surrounding area, Paratice Head intent on drawing Cion right towards that hand that she had so deftly dodged a moment prior! The pull wasn't just towards that hand, either: every open beak on its front side gave its pull, to either try and draw the Arniomon in outright or at least put it in range of its frightening grip!
Of course, the absolute chaos of the battlefield would not go unnoticed by Zudomon, or anyone else present. It seemed that Theo and Dustin had made up their minds to try and stay in this fight, handling the sound even better than he had endured. As the Antylamon took form, and as Dustin gave his request, the Zudomon gave a nod.
It seemed that Theo still needed a moment to prepare his weapon. Drawing his own hammer, he set it down in front, to anchor in and shield the other two from the efforts of the Paratice Head's pull. "Honestly, you two are crazy enough to get yourself involved in this... so call me crazy too!" He chuckled, sharing in Theo's more jovial attitude in this.
"An axe? I'll give you the chance you need when we run in: I'll go for the ankles, so you can get a clean shot at those cables!"
Log:
Paratice Head has used "Möbius Bite". Paratice Head is impacted by Elysian Sanction (1).

Post by Dustin & Theo on Aug 24, 2018 11:43:40 GMT
Despite the tremendous storm unleashed in front of the pair, thanks to the Zudomon's swift, yet critical, intervention, Theo was able to successfully summon what looked like a pair of glimmering axes. Their form appeared physical, yet the energy surrounding them made them feel almost ethereal, as if the weapon itself wasn't actually tangible, but merely a projection of the user's will. Regardless of that, it would get the job done.
The plan seemed straight forward. Dustin however, still had some doubts. He'd glance at the now barely visible plane, clenching his coat tighter to brave the wind. It was hard to actually hear anything, much less speak with the sand dominating most of the air. Still, he shot a look of understanding at Theo, who in turn gave the Zudomon a thumbs up. Neither of them were sure if going for the knees of a creature towering them in size was a practical solution, but as a distraction it was just what the rabbit needed.
"Maybe we can all visit the lunehouse together if we surive." Mumbled Dustin, clenching his Digivice as he'd eye the strange, cord like appendage in the distance. "On your mark." The tamer waited for a few moments, ensuring the monstrosity was fully focused on trying to strike the plane down, noticing that there was another much smaller Digimon present at the scene, but it was hard to make out anything besides a silver blur from this distance. "Go."
As if they were perfectly synchronized, the moment Dustin called for the strike, Theo leapt from the dune, making use of the terrain to breach the gap between him and his target. He'd shoot a glance at the Zudomon to make sure he was following, as well as to make sure they didn't follow the same path. As Antylamon ran, he allowed his center of gravity to shift, making use of the momentum he had build as he'd hunch slightly forward, arms stretching behind him. The cord was now closer then ever, almost within strike distance. A few second slater, the rabbit stopped abruptly, using his foot to anchor himself as he'd use the force he had build up to strike forward with incredible force, aiming for the cord. As the axe shifted with his weight, the air around it ignited in preparation for what would be a devastating blast.
"Red Hawk!"
In effect: [Summon: Sacred Axe]: After a 1 post meditation, Antylamon summons a pair of axes that empower all offensive abilities, causing them to deal an additional 50% of their damage for 3 posts. During Sacred Axe all successful attacks minus Deadly Reach count as 2 for Insight. 4 post cooldown.
Insight][Passive]: Every third attack Antylamon delivers causes all of of his current cooldowns to refresh 1 post faster. 2/3 - if successful strike
Moves used:
[Red Hawk]: Antylamon revs up an incredibly powerful and fast punch. When unleashed, he moves at blinding speed and delivers a powerful forward hook with the force he built up, causing his arm to be engulfed in flames. This attack packs such destructive power that very few Digimon would not be knocked backwards by the impact. It's capable of breaking most ultimate level barriers at the expense of mitigating its damage. Cooldown 5 posts.
Sacred Axe: Has been summoned. 1/3 Duration

An evil grasp evaded and punished with a decisive first counter-strike - despite the titanic abomination not displaying any sign of emotion, consciousness, sentience nor pain, this result remained satisfying to the vulpine sentinel. Whatever it said in response, since it was incomprehensible babble, was obviously of no importance. However, the quiet growl was very much something Cion understood as a universal reaction of hostility, was significant, enabling her to retain focus and a defensive stance. Seeing its uncountable maws opening, a minor sense of disgust overcame the aureate fennec. "What a vile creature..."
A voracious gale?! That was both morbid and obscene! Feeling the pull of massive winds tearing at her and the sand all around them, it was difficult for her to actively resist it. A partially incorporeal frame of incandescent blazes and cosmic radiance hardly weighed anything, but that did neither mean that the ancient soul was incapable of defending herself nor that she was forlorn. As her body inched towards the beast's hand, she saw the glowing silhouette of the Antylamon who had chosen to aid her purge. It was in the process of utilizing a unusually powerful ability for a digimon of its level.
Hearing via minute communication device in her ear that Vertigo was ready for another blast from afar, the unleashed Arniomon merely cleared her throat as a signal. to fire asap. Expecting a swath of destruction to rupture her 'playmate', Cion joined the onslaught in the most appropriate way possible. With a snap of her fingers, an immense gravitational distortion manifested itself in the vicinity of the construct, especialls its large arm - causing effects by wind to be likewise warped. Through intense willpower, she attempted to push the limb reaching out for her down and away from her.
With an ethereal javelin following suit, she hoped that this in combination with the imminent barrage sufficed to prevent her from getting any closer to this foul entity.

Thankfully, the Paratice Head's attention was largely focused towards the Arniomon, undoubtedly the most prominent threat to the D-Reaper amount the group. It made it so much easier for the Zudomon and Antylamon to make their approach. The turtle led the charge with his hammer held off to the side - as soon as he was in range, the monster would let out a full swing, right at the side of the Paratice Head's leg: "Vulcan's Hammer - Strike!"
The force would be enough to create a resounding 'crack' in the air, electricity sparking off the edge of his hammer - but a moment later, his eyes shot wide open. Rather than crash through, or even simply bounce off, the flat of the hammer had managed to 'stick' against the agent's leg, the mass starting to build across the side! It took effort, but he did manage to wrench his weapon out. "Blunt attacks aren't going to work!"
If it was that soft, maybe a blade would be more effective? It wouldn't take long to figure out - Zudomon had managed to force the beast to 'stand still' long enough for Theo to make his way around. With that angle, and one flick of his arm, he'd manage to sever right through...
... One of its three thick cables. A careful step had taken the other two out of reach, and with its connection still in tact, even the severed cable started to bubble up, slowly regenerating itself! The efforts below did do a bit to destabilize the Paratice Head's footing - enough that the agent couldn't begin to walk forward to make better use of Möbius Bite - but the diminutive Arniomon would still find herself trapped in the gale, drawn right towards that Paratice Head's grip. Her ability to resist definitely helped - the hand struggled as it was pulled right towards the Natural Law Break - but it didn't stop the myriad of beaks across its torso from continuing their pull.
And as Cion struggled in place, before the 'Fission Mortar' would hit home, the Paratice Head would raise its opposite arm, just as its chest was struck by 'Elysian Sanction'. Relying on the fact that Cion was 'stuck in the air', this second hand didn't add to the pull - rather, a red light budded from the beak, a powerful blast rocketing out towards the Arniomon's suspended position. Should she maintain her position, she'd likely take the shot - but should she lose tension against the wind with a careless dodge, she'd likely find herself pulled right in by that gale.
Granted, the Paratice Head was forced to stay still - and that Fission Mortar, crashing right on down, managed to cleave through half of the monster's head, a red, burnt sheen surrounding the point of impact. The beast would stagger at that, the suction of the 'Bite' failing momentarily...
... Though Vertigo would not act unimpeded for long. He was another threat identified by the D-Reaper, and as fast as he was, the D-Reaper sent three of its own aerial units - the Pendulum Feet, skyward in an effort to challenge the jet. One remained in pursuit, trailing from below, while another would make an effort to try and snake right into its path. Despite the insanity of the idea, its intent was to latch right onto the canopy of the AceJetmon, and start to dig right into those critical systems!
Log:
Paratice Head is forced still by Zudomon's blow. Theo's attack cuts through one of the cables! Fission Mortar strikes through Paratice Head's face! Paratice Head is impacted by Elysian Sanction (2) Paratice Head is regenerating...
Paratice Head continues to use Mobius Bite until struck by 'Fission Mortar'. In this interval, it uses 'Empty Bullet' to attempt to strike the suspended Cion. At this point, there is potential for Mobius Bite to succeed before he laser hits.
D-Reaper generates 3 Pendulum Feet agents to contest AceJetmon! One moves to try and latch onto the aircraft directly!

(Sorry for the delay!) A successful strike. Theo couldn't help but feel some pride seeing as his attack managed to slice through that thick cable. Yet, two more remained. That wasn't a problem for the rabbit, given that his axes were still ready and there was plenty of time. Only the cable began to bubble, instantly repairing itself. This was starting to feel like an uphill battle, even if the Antylamon was spared the worst of it. Still, his newly found partner made good on his promise to distract the beast, even if it was only for a moment. Dustin observed the events from afar, his eyes squinting as he could barely make out what was happening between the sand and the gargantuan being attacking everything in sight. He clenched his Digivice tight to his chest. Theo was capable, but definitely reckless. Seeing the monster essentially get its head blown off, only to retaliate by seemingly making more of itself was a sight frightening couldn't do justice to.
Meanwhile on the battlefield, Theo had plans of his own. "We need to get all three!" Though he doubted anyone could hear him, he made another attempt, this time trying to edge closer to the Zudomon. "Maybe there's still time before the first one connects,I'll get the third, you get the second." There was no room to wait for a reply to arrive. Instead, the rabbit man, had already began his move, breaching the gap between him and the third cable as fast as he could in hopes the Zudomon could keep up with him and destroy the second before the first was fully connected. The aerial units momentarily frightened him, though he knew full well he wasn't their interest at the moment. "Good thing those two seem to have no regard for planing." He thought to himself, readying to leap into the air.
"Deadly Reach!" A flurry of blows, powerful enough to send forth a shock wave, concentrated on a segment of the cable, the axes boosting their offensive power further. Punching something so resilient was almost redundant, yet Theo hopped to batter it enough to break. Though, he was far from done, as the moment his attack ended, he used his momentum to leap onto the monster's back, continuing upwards. The plan was simple, if the beast took a devastating blow at its weak spot, then by judging but how it was reacting so far it made sense to not want to be anywhere near those cables the moment all three snapped. Instead, he would use this opening to leap at one of the cables of the aerial units, hopping to grab onto one so he could sever it.
[Insight][Passive]: Every third attack Antylamon delivers causes all of of his current cooldowns to refresh 1 post faster. 1/3 - Triggered once Moves used: [Deadly Reach]: Antylamon unleashes a barrage of blows so fast that they send forth air waves for a small distance, effective increasing his reach. This flurry of several blows counts as 2 for Insight. Cooldown 1 post. Sacred Axe: Has been summoned. 2/3 Duration [Red Hawk]: 3/4 cooldown

"Oh, bugger..." Vertigo mumbled to himself as his scanners were quick to detect the spawn of their primary target heading straight for him. Unable to savor his effective attack, his engines flared up as he utilized his freedom of movement and velocity to assure maximum distance from the incoming intruders of his airspace. One of these gawks insisted to get into his path and the synthetic digimon was more than happy to oblige it. "Hypersonic Lance!" He bellowed as an aura of incandescent heat engulfed his front, attempting to tear through the obstacle like a thunderbolt descending towards the ground.
------------------------
Though appreciating the efforts all of her allies put into this conflict, the fact that her temporary distortion of space-time did not help to fully break her free from the abomination's 'pull' was distressing her inside, although of course she did not give her mindless adversary a quarter by refusing to display that on her face. However, the beast's next move managed to crack her willpower briefly, the aureate fox baring her teeth as she watched its other, massive arm taking aim at her and launching a huge, crimson blast that sought to efface her.
Not wishing to shift her body to maneuver as to not loose tension against the suctions, the ancient soul did what she was likely best at - bolstering her defense. Rapidly dashing backwards and blasting her third ethereal javelin at the apparently immovable, gargantuan fiend, it took nothing but a snap of her fingers to engulf herself in a protective veil of iridescent data that was meant to absorb as much damage and force as possible. Not knowing how powerful the parasitic entity truly was, she expected to suffer some damage anyway, but that was still better than enduring every bit of it.
