In a sense, it was as if the Antylamon and the Zudomon were attempting to cut off the cables of some diabolical machine while Cion drew the monster's attention. Up until now, both Theo and the turtle had been left largely uncontested, the Zudomon flipping the hammer around in his hand - the sharp 'pick' side now held in front. They needed to get all three, of course, and he wasn't about to leave his partner alone in that effort!
"Got it! Sparking Strike- gah!"
Electricity briefly sparked up in that hammer, until a red blast of energy slammed right into the back of his wrist. Staggering, the ultimate looked over his shoulder - first to the right, then to the left - to find that the D-Reaper had created a response to their efforts: Bubbles (X). Rather than simply allow the two to continue assaulting at the support line for the much more important agent, these gunners - two on each side, ten meters away from the pair - kept their focus intently on the two fighters.
Every half second, their arms engorged, a red blast of energy sent out. One on each side aimed for each target, meaning both had to deal with a constant stream of attacks from both ends. Hunkered down and with a powerful stream of attacks echoing at his shell, the Zudomon improvised: instead of aiming at the cable, he threw his hammer, aiming to slam right into one of the Paratice's legs!
Theo, though under the threat of constant fire, would be able to slice through another cable - though the moment he tried to climb up, he might regret it. The very act of touching that mass would start to burn away at his hands, a red 'plaque' quickly building atop his hands, like a sensation of burning tar...
As for Cion, her brief entrapment in the Paratice Head's gale was enough to force her still, enough for the 'Empty Bullet' to completely overtake her position, a powerful projectile roaring right over the Arniomon's small frame. It was enough to blow away that empowered barrier, and even damage the god digimon underneath with its powerful, burning light - and as with the Antylamon below, the red mass of the D-Reaper would start to coat over her frame, that thick plaque burning directly against her surface data.
Though this might have thrown her off, Vertigo's own efforts managed to cut off the source of Moebius Bite, freeing Cion from the grip itself. The head started to 'bubble' back into place, a grotesque red mass shaping back into the 'head' of the Paratice. In this span, the Paratice Head gave a step forward, lunging its arm towards Cion, even as that glowing spear pierced right through its palm.
This was more an act of pressure - should that last shot have done enough to stagger her, perhaps it was possible to simply snap the Arniomon out of the air! Vertigo's 'Hypersonic Lance' proved to be an effective counter against the impeding Pendulum Feet: though direct contact was made, the superheated surface of the metal made it impossible for the agent to get a grip on the creature. The agent was simply obliterated on the spot as Vertigo raced past - but the remaining two Agents followed along.
It wasn't as important for them to try and defeat this AceJetmon - chasing it away from the battlefield would be well enough!
Log:
Four 'Bubble' Agents have appeared!
All four Bubble Agents continuously used 'Rapid Fire Decay Cannon'. Paratice Head is Regenerating. Paratice Head reaches forward for a simple grapple. One Pendulum Feet is destroyed. The other two pursue. Direct contact with the D-Reaper, or any attack, leaves a red plaque behind - burning the data on contact.

Theo smirked, the cable falling to his blows. This wasn't so bad! At least, that's what the rabbitman would think had he not heard the Zudomon's pained grunts moments afterwards. This monstrosity was definitely not going down without a fight. It could seemingly spawn an endless supply of equally strong entities, something neither Theo nor Dustin accounted for when they dived into this head first.
The plan was simple, leap as high as he could and somersault of that thing's back, grab a cable, and then rush to aid the walrus Digimon currently taking an awful beating on his behalf. Unfortunately that's not how things went all, seeing as the moment Theo pierced the monster's hide with his sacred axes, he would feel a pain like nothing he had ever felt before. For a moment, his vision went blurry as he felt the wind around him become stronger. It took him a few moments to realise he was actually in freefall backwards, his axe's completely dissolved. It seemed that without even realising, he had unsummoned his weapons in fear of the buring sensation spreading further. Unbeknown to him, the corruption wasn't dispelled by him retracting and storing his data, instead following suit, meaning that the next time he summoned the axes, the infection would surface as well. Dustin could only watch in horror as his partner fell from what was a considerable height. "THEO!" The piercing call as enough to cause the Antylamon snapping back to reality with just enough time to ensure he didn't land headfirst. Still, his landing was anything but graceful, causing quite an impact on the sand below. Thankfully the nature of the sand enabled him to not take as much damage as he would have normally, especially since it was stirred up from the previous gale. Regardless, Theo staggered to stand up, his vision still blurry, yet fixed on the final cable. In a reckless blaze of glory fashion, taking advantage of his smaller size and the Zudomon's shell he dived forward, heading for the second cable. In a desperate attempt to at least complete the job, seeing as he couldn't run, the Antylamon delivered the most powerful blow he could muster directly at the point the Zudomon was about to strike, hopping to sever it.
In effect: [Insight][Passive]: Every third attack Antylamon delivers causes all of of his current cooldowns to refresh 1 post faster. 1/3 - Triggered once Moves used: [n/a] - Melee strike against the last cable. Sacred Axe: Has expired and is now corrupted. 1/4 cooldown. [Deadly Reach] 1/1 Cooldown. Ready next post. [Red Hawk]: 5/5 Cooldown. Ready next post

Certainly Vertigo was not so naive as to think that the Pendulum Feets attacking him were not meant to be a distraction from the host that spawned them. Not that it was a big concern to him as dealing with these fragile entities appeared to be rather easy, but regardless the quicker he managed to wipe them out the better. Unfortunately, his devastating attacks were on cooldown at the moment, hence more utilitarian means to overcome this challenge were required, especially to protect those on the ground, including his partner. "Terminal Velocity." He whispered as his speed heightened to its absolute maximum in an attempt to outmaneuver his followers.
------------------------
Cion grit her teeth as the remaining power of the crimson beam tore through her body like a mighty gust of wind. Only force of will and her naturally high defenses enabled her to not scream in agony, feeling the scorching corruption gnaw at her very being - figuratively and literally. With wide eyes and a heavy breath, she beheld the taint that covered the top of her frame, eroding her fur and digital flesh akin to a copper coin inside a bottle of hydrochloric acid. So... this was how her enemies perceived her javelins, eh?
Speaking of which, it was not difficult for the ascendant to grasp that her titanic adversary was too reckless and mindless to do anything against the attrition she imposed on it that effectively negated its regeneration to a certain extend. Apparently, the D-Reaper had learned nothing from their previous, impersonal encounter. If that was the case, then the restrained Arniomon gladly accepted its simple-mindedness with the intention to exploit it once more in the company of allies familiar and unfamiliar to her.
Watching as the Paratice Head took a gargantuan step forward to simply try to grab her again, it was in this instance that she felt the support of her trusty, faithful companion enter her system to empower every aspect of it. Empowered awareness and a reduced perception of time fortified her mind and muscles. The movement of her opponent seemed sluggish, hence she decided that she had to go on the offensive. Instead of dodging its assaults, Cion dashed straight towards it, hopefully right around its vile clutches.
No matter her success or failure, incandescence faded for iridescence in a violent burst of primordial energies, the formerly vulpine entity altered to a construct of pure data and raw matrix. Bright as the sheen of an exploding star, incorporeal tethers bound themselves to the massive enemy and the stuck ethereal javelins, eating away at it as its red goo did with her. However, her ability also consumed the damage dealt, counteracting the coat of recrement that entwined with the brilliant white, ethereal vessel of her core.
She had to get as close as possible to it before it was too late.

Unfortunately for Theo, being in free-fall did not give the Antylamon the best avenue to avoid the onslaught of bullets traced on his position. The ultimate level was far more unpredictable and able to dodge that assault when he was able to control his own actions, but as Theo fell from his perch, the two Bubble Agents would continuously volley their fire at his trajectory, both as he fell and at his point of landing.
Rather than simply allow this to continue happening, the Zudomon looked on in anger - and abandoned his attack on the Paratice Head. Instead, with herculean effort, he threw his hammer forth towards one of the grouped pairs of gunners, before moving to charge the other. That first pair would quickly find themselves rend and splattered across the sand, the 'guns' now focused entirely on the Zudomon. This spared the Antylamon further damage as he would finally collect himself, and made his charge for that final cable.
He'd reach it quite easily, but the blunt force of his hand was not enough to rend it outright. It might be able to be torn, but it would take at least a bit more effort from Theo! As for Cion's efforts, it was true: Paratice Head's attempt to grip would not be able to catch up with the Super Mega's enhanced speed, nor would the agent be able to do anything 'physical' to attack the Arniomon in her incorporeal form. It would be like she was a patch of light, easily slipping right around those fingers and that arm in her direct approach to the agent.
The Paratice Head, though powerful, was a large and lumbering force. The light would easily bind in and strike directly against the agent, the beast growling out as it felt that 'burning' across its entire frame... and yes, Cion would successfully draw in its life force.
The life force. Of the D-Reaper.
Perhaps she overestimated her own ability to filter, or perhaps she had simply forgotten the mind-altering nature that this very agent had on the VenomMyotismon before, but the end result was the same: that energy she started to draw in, a stark red in color, would be drawn right into Cion's 'pure data' from both its body and through the lodged spears of energy. That very mass of data, in turn, would immediately start to burn. It wasn't as before, when Cion was simply damaged externally by the laser: electing to absorb its life force directly, the Arniomon was inviting the D-Reaper into the deepest recesses of her mind and core.
The event was of such interest, that the D-Reaper did not even attempt to resist, ignoring the Antylamon below and not moving to act against Cion. The Paratice Head was definitely weakening with its own code drained, but Cion's mind and her vision would quickly start to turn red, that vile data stirring inside.
If the tap wasn't cut off soon... Veritgo's efforts to evade greatly outpaced the Pendulum Feet - but his efforts also distanced himself a great deal from the battlefield. As such, the two remaining Pendulum Feet both continued their approach and spread their formation, attempting to 'screen' Vertigo's efforts if he would try and approach the Paratice Head again.
Log:
In the duration Theo is falling, he takes the damage of two continuous streams of bullets from Agent-Bubbles. Zudomon destroys two of the gunner agents shortly afterwards, and charges to approach the remaining two. Theo successfully reaches the cable, but without a blade, is unable to immediately sever it. Vertigo successfully outpaces the two Pendulum Feet, who maintain defensive stance.

As Theo fell, there was little he could do to dodge the incoming barrage. Even with the Zudomon's quick intervention, he took quite a beating from the combination of bullets and the impact. Perhaps that was why he couldn't slice the cable, but in all likelihood that monster was just too tough. The rabbit paused, gritting his teeth as the burning sensation from earlier now resonated through his body. It was an odd, distressing pain. Like several tiny blow torches touching you from all possible angles, but just for a moment.
Dustin, was unsure on what to do, he knew that Theo could handle himself and that if he rushed down there he would more than likely endanger him more by getting caught in the wake of battle. From the corner of his eye, he could see the other two Digimon engaging, one seemed to have a hold on the monster, whereas the Zudumon was defiantly struggling. This was bad. His eyes would dart around for the Shurimon. Hopefully the ninja would like to step in. He wouldn't pressure it, but a simple gesture toward the mayhem should have been enough to give anyone a hint.
Theo was left with two choices, go for the wire once more, but risk getting annihilated the moment Zudomon was overwhelmed by the blasts, or take down the gunmons. To him the choice was obvious. True enough, a few seconds later the Antylamon performed an impressive leap, jumping over the walrus to strike at the sentries. The idea was to use an attack that packed enough force to send one of them crushing into the other. "Red Hawk!" Theo aimed a powerful punch, making full use of his momentum and weight. It was a simple, yet devastating move with enough force to shatter walls. Had it landed, if the initial impact didn't take care of things, the fire certainly would, or so he hopped.
[Insight][Passive]: Every third attack Antylamon delivers causes all of of his current cooldowns to refresh 1 post faster. 3/3 - if successful strike. Trigger total: 2 Moves used: [Red Hawk]: Antylamon revs up an incredibly powerful and fast punch. When unleashed, he moves at blinding speed and delivers a powerful forward hook with the force he built up, causing his arm to be engulfed in flames. This attack packs such destructive power that very few Digimon would not be knocked backwards by the impact. It's capable of breaking most ultimate level barriers at the expense of mitigating its damage. Cooldown 5 posts. Sacred Axe: Corrupted, cooldown 2/4 (3/4 if insight triggers) [Red Hawk]: 1/5 cooldown

Knowing full well that with the Pendulum Feets on his tail his air superiority was useless, Vertigo rapidly gained distance before coming to a rather sudden halt. Turning to face his distant adversaries, he constantly moved sideways instead, keeping them as targets for his assault. The barrels of his large guns spun around their own axis as uncountable bolts of energy got launched at one of them, seeking to destroy the second of this bothersome pests. Hopefully, his partner fared well without his personal assistance.
------------------------
To Cion's delight, the Paratice Head indeed failed to catch her successfully due to her heightened speed and senses. Dashing past its monstrous fingers was not a pleasant experience, but as long as she able to get as close to this beast as possible her hidden disgust was of no concern. Bound to it, the incandescent ascendant tore at and drained its very essence with the desire to make its might and potential hers. Certain that her righteous willpower sufficed to thwart any attempts of corrupting her, it was with sincere shock that she felt... something tainting her core.
It was not only her vision shifting red, but her mind losing focus - incoherent pieces of thoughts clashing in a maelstrom of pandemonium. Was this how the VenomMyotismon had perceived things in his state of serving as a slave to the parasite called the D-Reaper? Horrid. "You want me?! Okay! Have everything!" She bellowed as she came to an immediate stop in front of the hideous titan's 'face'. Clutching her body, an aura of glaring radiance engulfed her before swiftly pushing her limbs outwards, releasing the powers she had accumulated.
Acting as its center, an incandescent, cleansing flare erupted in the shape of a massive sphere. For several seconds, this artificial supernova lingered and expanded, gracing the horizon and sky with an aureate sheen of scorching fire. None of those opposing the crimson demon would be harmed - on the contrary, vigor instantly fueled their muscles and sinew. And as the torrid burst eventually ceased, an unleashed Arniomon remained, breathing heavily, hoping that she had purified her system from the ghastly invader.
Battle Log:
Passive: - Numen Aeternum: Reduced Physical Strength - Increased Maximum Health, Defenses and Pain Threshhold.
Move: - Cion uses 'Elysian Purge', dealing fire damage and potentially blinding 'Paratice Head'. She and Allies get healed and cleansed of negative effects. - Cion cannot utilize Combat-Passive Ability 'Elysian Sanction'. - Vertigo uses 'Energy Gatling Barrage' against a 'Pendulum Feet'.
Buffs: 1) Sanctuary Ward - Allies close to the device receive a small heal and a constantly refreshing small shield each turn, and are stabilized upon disablement 2) Terminal Velocity - Verigo gains maximized speed | Cion & Theo gain double speed and heightened senses Debuffs: 1) / 2) /
Active Effects On Enemies: - Enemies Struck by Elysian Sanction: 1) Slightly reduced speed and mobility + small stacking shock damage (per lodged javelin)
- Paratice Head: 1) 0 Ethereal Javelins 2) Possibly Blinded for 1 Turn 3) Elysian Ascension - Life Drain by Light Damage (scaling slightly with amount of Ethereal Javelins) 4) /

The Shurimon? That ninja wasn't even in sight anymore, though given the chaotic nature of the battlefield, one could hardly blame the armor champion. Perhaps he was caught up in his own fight, or perhaps he was trying to figure out a way to report the situation out to Terminus - but it did leave Theo, Dustin, and Zudomon at the mercy of the Bubble Agents below.
And for the Zudomon, that was enough. Though he was taking several hits, as his hammer had already torn through two of those gunners, he was confident that he would be able to simply rip these other two out from the root. So long as Theo dealt with that monster's cable, they could...
They could...
"What in tarnation?!
Theo bucked the plan, and instead vaulted right over the turtle! The Bubbles were not fast enough to redirect their fire, and the two Bubbles were, yes, engulfed in flames - but that just let the Paratice Head regenerate! A worried glance over his shoulder confirmed the worst of it, one of those cables flicking right back into place.
But maybe it wouldn't matter. The Pendulum Feet after Vertigo were never meant to succeed - and even now, they were successful enough in their own mission. As the jet banked off to the side, the Pendulum Feet would move in turn, the 'lead' agent quickly run through by that Gatling Barrage. The detonation of the first, though, allowed the second to emerge through the smoke, and continue its own strafe to further 'screen' the enhanced Jetmon out of the fight! But yes, perhaps it wouldn't matter. Cion's own efforts, seeding the Paratice Head with the seeds of her ultimate technique, would quite literally bring the beast to boil. An intense, searing wall of flame encompassed the Paratice Head's entire body - with the Antylamon thankfully out of range - and the damage was immediately apparent.
Red welts appeared over its thickened hide. The monster stumbled, its own fingers beginning to run past its hand - and the beast fell. It didn't fall into a cloud of data, but into a formless red mass, like a running wax candle brought to boil, bubbling pathetically against the ground below.
The Paratice Head, itself, was finished. Cion, however, would not quite be able to get rid of that 'feeling' in her head, a red tint that threatened to take over her vision. It seemed the D-Reaper had tried to make the most of that connection as long as it had it - and holding it long enough to be able to use her 'Elysian Purge' had ensured at least a few extra seconds of connection. Even now, dark whispers would be swarming the back of her head, and in such close proximity to the Reaper, the ends of her limbs might start sparking out of phase.
They had won the battle, yes. But at what cost?
Log:
Theo's efforts easily destroy the remaining two Bubble agents. One Pendulum Feet agent is destroyed, while the other moves to screen Vertigo's movement. The Paratice Head is utterly destroyed by Elysian Purge. The longer Cion remains, the worse it gets.

Somehow, despite the odds being overwhelmingly against them, the monster came to a stop. Perhaps that was putting it gently after his newly found allies had obliterated the beast, but Theo knew better than to believe this to be an easy victory. However, with just one of those creatures left, this was the time to make an escape. The Antylamon understood this well, yet somehow he had his doubts about simply leaving this scene.
"We... somehow took it down..." The Zudomon had certainly seen better days, but then again so did he. He'd calmly walk over to his new, walrus friend and give a light tap. "You really saved me back there, thank you!" Theo's cheer was starting to return, even going as far as to give the ultimate a triumphant thumbs up. "Good thing, that gunk is starting down. Probably half way to... wherever it's supposed to be now." The rabbit felt the need to nod at his own comment, almost reassuring himself. Of course, their enemy was very evidently still alive. "Should we do anything about those?" The cables were still there, still bubbling. Theo already knew the answer to his own, somewhat stupid question, but without the actual body to threaten him, he felt like he could finish it with a little less worry. "Deadly Reach!" He would leave as quickly as he had approached the cable after delivering another flurry of blows, this time ensuring that he had properly destroyed the remaining, unharmed tube. "Let's get out of here!" Theo turned to wave at Dustin who still resided on top of one of the dunes, causing the later to let out an inaudible sigh. He was glad his partner was still alive, but he had certainly taken a beating. If that wasn't bad enough he was as reckless as ever. "Come back!" It was doubtful that his voice would reach all the way there, yet luckily the Antylamon's sensitive ears picked it up. Shame he had no intention of rushing just yet. Theo brought a hand above his eyes, squinting as he tried to make out the silver figure. Whoever it was they packed a punch. It was probably a good idea to at least try to befriend them. He did owe them after all. "Hey, you! Good job!" He'd yell, unsure if it would be well received or not. In any case, he'd slowly begin his retreat, convinced that everyone could talk away from this place.
[Insight][Passive]: Every third attack Antylamon delivers causes all of of his current cooldowns to refresh 1 post faster. 3/3 - if successful strike. Trigger total: 2
Moves used:
[Deadly Reach]: Antylamon unleashes a barrage of blows so fast that they send forth air waves for a small distance, effective increasing his reach. This flurry of several blows counts as 2 for Insight. Cooldown 1 post
Sacred Axe: 4/4
[Red Hawk]: 2/5 cooldown

Clearly, with two of the three miscreant gone, there was not much of a threat the last one posed. Still, he had to admire their capability to somewhat keep up with his breakneck top speed. It appeared that even the paltry spawn of the D-Reaper were not to be underestimated. What they lacked in brute strength, skill and mind they compensated for specific, useful qualities. There was probably a plethora of minion type and the crimson friend's disposal, hence cataloging them was likely a wise move. For now, with 'Terminal Velocity' available again, less sublte means were advised instead. Ergo he tore straight through his final opposer.
------------------------------
Breathing heavily, beholding the vile titan disintegrate was like music to her large ears. Cion felt a sense of temporary win within her core, despite knowing that this was merely a single step of a staircase that reached as far as the horizon. Yet experiencing her power to encounter this mindless parasite adequately gratified her. Unfortunately, this victory was Pyrrhic. The golden fires of her incandescent, incorporeal form wafted as if she was a pyre amidst a rainstorm. The end of her limbs grew numb, her vision blurred, and faint thoughts that were obviously not her own befell her.
Had the VenomMyotismon suffered the same fate?
Groaning, the Arniomon did nothing less than muster her full willpower. She did not know if she had contracted a disease or was just suffering a hallucination, but she had no intention of leaving it up to chance. Watching the warriors several dozen meters beneath her, the vulpine ascendant nodded. "Kismet Blessing..." Was whispered as a brief aura of aureate data engulfed everyone present, including herself. Healing wounds and removing status effects... well, if her purge had not sufficed to free her from the infection... oh dear.
Frowning, Cion groaned as she descended to the Lopmon and the others, during which he unleashed might ceased willingly. Back in the shape of a small, silver fennec, "Thanks. You fought admirably as well." She replied sincerely. Agreeing with their desire to vacate the area, the first thing she intended to do was contact her allies and companions. This destructive entity was hazardous. There was a decent possibility she required professional help - or a swift coup de grâce. "Would be a waste..."
- Vertigo uses 'Terminal Velocity' against final 'Pendulum Feet' - Cion uses 'Kismet Blessing' to heal everyone and hopefully undo some negative effects
