Picnic in the digital world [Calysta]

At first it was hard to believe it, but Katsura had convinced Calysta, her adoptive mother and headmistress on her academy to visit the digital world. Maybe it was because her insistence that Calysta can't have an opinion on the digital world without at least have been there? Maybe it was to spend mother daughter time in the place that meant so much to Katsura. Lastly there was the question about Calysta's lost brother, it was very plausible that he was somewhere in the digital world. Despite having over a year of experience in the digital world, her repertoire over places of interest inside left a lot to be desired.
Bird digimon was singing, the sky was blue without a clouding covering the bright sun. In the dense forest on a clearing a large portal did just open between the digital world and Calysta's office and a girl named Katsura was passing through in her arms she was carrying Nyao the blackgatomon.
"So this place is the forest. I call it "Forest". What do you think?"

Calysta was going to enter this world again, unlike a child work keeps adults busy for most of the day. Now that she thinks about it, how am I going to hide a Digimon? Nyao can act like a toy, because of Katsura's age, but if Calysta carried one all the time, it wouldn't really leave the correct image of a strong woman, building a career for herself, not even as a child Calysta carried one, because of her father so it's out of character. After Calysta when into the portal, really, it's hard to ground someone that has this ability, and giving time goes slower in that world, I could check every hour, and Katsura has already had five of them in the digital world.
Calysta would look and see it was beautiful, but had one remark. "Katsura, how is your creative writing class going, because you need better titles for places." She said possessing a smile, but still this world has been just as shocking, as the first time.

Katsura didn't quite understand the point Calysta was trying to make, but she answered the question anyway the best she could.
"Fine I guess, my teacher really likes reading my stories about a girl with a talking blue plush rabbit named Harvey. Nobody but the girl knows he's alive and they go on many adventures." The deadpan feline named Nyao rolled her eyes.
"Where did you get the inspiration for that?" Nyao asked Katsura sarcastically.
"I don't know, I guess you can say it comes to me." "Sure, let's leave it at that."
Katsura closed the portal behind Calysta to make sure no one came through it. It was then that Nyao decided to reach out to Calysta.
"So Calysta, if you were your brother do you have any idea of where you would go? The digital world is a big place."
"Exactly, there's the heaven place, Terminus, the dark area and the plains." "Yeah let's veto the dark area for now. Ultimate form or not we might as well take things slow. For Calysta's sake." "Sigh fine."

Calysta would look down at Katsura. "So it's about a girl, who has a rabbit looking toy, entering an odd world...." Did she really not see it? No, she did, she was just acting like there was zero connection, and like Nyao said let's leave it at that, which Calysta with do with a sigh, this world was just crazy it's odd how it's even real. Now that she thought about it. "I really should of locked that door, just in case someone walked inside." She would sigh once more finding it lucky nobody did, after doing so, she looked down towards Nyao who was trying to get her attention.
"Oh, I'm not sure that was years ago, and your talking about a world human's wouldn't even think was possible, and after being in here for so long his ideas about where to go would change," Calysta said not even knowing where to really start, you even had one girl trying to become an empress, and take it over, while being a star in the real world acting nice, that was really something out from a TV show, even if Calysta didn't know that about this girl.
"What do you mean slow for my taste? I'm sure this world isn't that hard to figure out Katsura." She said having great pride in being able to handle herself here.

Yes, Katsura was clearly the only one of the group who couldn't see the relation as her deer-like eyes revealed. Even Nyao couldn't help but snark just a moment ago over the blatant resemblance in the story. Well it's not like Katsura's teacher has any chance of proving that her story was effectively a plagiat of a world few knows about. What Katsura did know was how to stick her nose into a conversation between Nyao and Calysta.
"I used to be afraid of most digimon at first, I even held Nyao like a gun. But then I learned that all digimon are nice and friendly. So now I'm not afraid anymore." As for Nyao, she had a different dilemma. How do you elaborate on why the dark area is not worth a visit without either talking down to Calysta or give the implication that Nyao is an irresponsible guardian who leads Katsura to places where she doesn't belong? After hearing out Calysta she was forced to come up with something before she'd lose face. "Umm how do I put this? I think I know egh... If I wanted to befriend a fellow Ladydevimon, the dark area would be the first place I'd look. You do remember Ladydevimon right? If it was just me and Katsura I could always assume a supreme form and hang around with Katsura's stronger friends there. Somehow she managed to befriend a lord of a whole domain which is thus safe by sheer publicity. With you umm." "If only Calysta had a best friend for life everything would be so much better." "Best friend for life means digimon partner."

You could say Katsura was copyrighting, her own life, and taking things from a world which didn't belong to her, while guess it's fine not like anyone was going to believe that stuff was real after all, it was really far out there, well that is what Calysta thought you could meet one nut who would believe each and every word. That image of Katsura holding Nyao like a gun was funny, was the tail the trigger? And hairballs come out from the front.......Yeah, best not to put much thought into that.
"Katsura not all Digimon are nice and friendly, the same way not all humans are evil." She said, hoping one day, Katsura would be able to tell good from evil, and evil from good. She would blink being confused. "Oh Ladydevimon? It's kind of scary thinking it's more of them." She asked not fully sure than blush a little, but when away right away. "I don't think I am met to have a Digimon by my side, it sounds odd." She said letting out a smile.

"Digimon always have at least a reason for attacking me." Katsura was strangely quiet when Calysta compared humans to digimon, her pupils tried to escape Calysta's sight which. Could it be that Katsura had another opinion about humans and digimon? One Katsura wasn't comfortable admitting out loud?
"Yeah, your humans only have one sapient species. We digimon are a bit more progressive than that." Nyao made a mischievous wink at Calysta to emphasize the intended humorous aspect. Katsura on the other hand raised an eyebrow.
"If I remember correct, all digimon of a certain species looks the same. Most of the time they even have the same name. Remember the squad of pipmon?"
"Oh yeah a group of rat-like digimon all named pipmon that looks the same. I also remember my failed prank to yell "hey pipmon" only for them to tell me they can tell each other apart." Katsura resumed listening to Calysta.
"Isn't odd not having a digimon by your side?"
And once again Calysta was reminded how much Katsura had detached herself from human society.

Something about Digimon and humans Katsura couldn't say, little odd giving as she has kind of already said Digimon are easier to get along with, it wouldn't shock her if Katsura cared for them more than humans, giving she spends more time with them than anyone else. "Well, Digimon don't always have reasons to attack, the same way a human that attacks you for no reason, Digimon can do the same." And giving they can be giants it's a little more dangerous. "That is true, but giving little monsters are real, vampire, werewolf, and other stuff shouldn't be too hard to believe now," Calysta said having a smile, but knew that couldn't be true, could it?
"Don't most Digimon keeps the same name? That Digimon from before, Hackmon I think it was, that is his own, right? Alexis didn't name it like Katsura did with you right Nyao?" Calysta said, knowing if a Digimon has mon in their name, it's their species name as well. "Not really, I never had one in my whole life, so it's weird thinking I could have one." Calysta knowing what Katsura was like in human society only time could make that better.

In a semi-subconscious search for extra comfort Katsura hugged Nyao tightly while listening to Calysta saying that some digimon just attack for no reason in particular. Katsura wanted to make a scene and an argument but she was too anxious to pull it off, leaving her standing there like an insecure little girl. This was a mousy girl who neither believed the words of adults nor having the assertiveness to contradict.
It was easier for Katsura to compete socially when the subject fell to whether there was supernatural things in the digital world.
"Hmm Nyao has her angel form and beyond that a Goddess. I have also met a demon-like digimon once and dragons definitely exist. Magic is also real, I guess. And I don't know about vampires buut-"
"Ehm maybe we should just let her see for itself, not spoil the entire fun already?" Nyao laughed awkwardly, the one time where Katsura and Nyao weren't in sync just had to be in proving that the digital world is a safe place to be.
"I actually choose the name Nyao myself, and yes Hackmon is a Hackmon. Without name I'll feel like if you were human the human."

Calysta didn't wish to belittle Katsura, but she needed to think more about her actions and what will happen after doing them, the human world was dangerous enough, but this digital world, well had many possible outcomes that she and not many other people knew could happen from doing them. It was to get her to stop being a shy person and speak a little more openly about what she's thinking. "All this is confusing, you're telling me that many of our stories in the human world could be based on Digimon?" Calysta kind of didn't like that.
"This world is really odd, the more I hear the better I think it's best to leave you out of it, but I have no right to do so, so I haven't tried. And you do like it here, so that's another reason." Calysta said, knowing she really did have zero right to stop Katsura. "Fair, but I didn't choose, my name it was my father, but we will leave him to the side for now," Calysta said not wishing to speak about him, it's a reason Katsura hasn't seen him once yet, after living with her for so long, he wasn't dead or anything, just history between them.

Katsura raised her shoulders in a shrug over Calysta's question. Clearly she had become too desensitized to see the horrors of the digital world. Katsura then heard the rest of what Calysta said, it was nice for her to know that Calysta won't stop her from going to the digital world even if she was worried about Katsura's safety. "Thank you, it takes time to get used to the digital world. I always try to get people to see the digital world the way I do but for some reason I scare them. I don't know why." Katsura grabbed her own shoulder tightly at the mention of Calysta's father, she was still not entirely conformable with the topic of family, it was therefore to no one's surprise that Katsura was the first one to agree with Calysta.
"Umm, right no need for that. If Nyao hadn't chose her name I would have named her fluffball." Having predicted Calysta's confusion Nyao helpfully elaborated the context.
"My baby form happens to be a white hairy ball."
Katsura may have many qualities but when it came to naming things she was rather... Simple-minded to say the least.

That was a problem on how desensitized Katsura was towards this world, she would think a giant demon ready to kill you is a med level worry, no I take that back, towards Katsura that is walking past the park on a normal day. "Well, it might be because nothing here worries you, it's normal to run away from something you can't understand or talk to like Digimon here to humans, I'm sure in time they will start to see the real you, but only if you let them understood Katsura?" Calysta said hoping Katsura would know it was both her and the people, that would need to grow.
Her father wasn't as bad as Katsura, but it was more of a noble family in a way, not rich noble, but in his ways and what he believes in, kind of like old fashion japan, but than Calysta let out a laugh. "Fluffball, can't we name her that now," Calysta said, looking at Nyao still laughing a little, about that name. "Baby form? How many forms do you have? Its way to many, it's no way you use all of them." Calysta said not understanding Digimon evolution yet.

Katsura listened to Calysta even though it was hard, Katsura ended up tilting her head before turning away. "Yeah, I guess I do. You know, I used to fake happiness all the time to act normal. But when you don't know when to smile it just makes people afraid of you. That's I don't do it as much anymore." An easy way for Nyao to lightening the mood was by commenting on Calysta suggesting that the name should stick.
"Fluffball doesn't work that great for a tall Goddess woman." "But Nyao does?"
"Eeeh not that much, but it works for a cat. I didn't see it coming that I would evolve past a feline. What's up with fluffball?" "Well you were a ball and fluffy, so... Fluffball. It's a nice name for a fluffy ball." "I'm sensing a pattern here." "Of what?" "Eeeh, oh how many forms I got? I think I'm at 7 now." "Wow that's a lucky number a butterfly only have 3 forms 7 is a bigger number than 3"

Calysta knew Katsura had many things that needed to change, but rushing it and acting like we had no time would make things become worse, it was best for Katsura to learn on her own time. "Goddess?" A heavenly creature having light surrounding them....Nyao doesn't match that image at all. "But you're a cat most of the time?" Calysta said smiling down towards Nyao. Calysta would let out a smile, laughing finding it funny on what Nyao could have been called, at least it's a fitting name for a cat.
She would smile seeing how well they got along, but that is a lot of forms. "Your right that is a lot of forms, what is it we are met to be doing here anyway? I'm guessing it's not easy to just find Digimon partners?" Calysta still not really worrying about having one yet. In the end, it would mean having something around her all the time acting in a way she doesn't know how to plan for.

Nyao turned to Katsura the instance Calysta reminded her she's a cat most of the time. "See? Nyao is a fitting name." Katsura shrugged at that silly situation. "Fine, "Nyao" stays, umm did I say something wrong?" Katsura looked puzzled at Calysta, only now had she realized how much Calysta had been laughing the whole time, the question now is whether someone has the heart to explain it to Katsura. Certainly not Nyao who at her most helpfulness held back a giggle much to Katsura's further confusion. At least Katsura could focus on Calysta's comments about finding digimon partners, even if she wasn't so sure about what to respond.
"Umm I'm not really sure, most people I know just gets the egg out of nowhere. There's a kindergarten not that far away, the egg village." "The nursery is called The Village of New beginnings." "Right that place, maybe if you just talk to a digimon and make friends?"
