Hideo didn't believe it when the stick he held pressed against something soft. He was afraid that he'd poked someone by accident, and had already been apologizing before his partner reassured him that no, the wall he'd poked was a massive, cushioned pillar. The sheer absurdity of that prompted him to check and discover, yes, that's exactly what it was. And a few more steps revealed that the ground was padded too.
And then he noticed it was a bit bouncy. And he couldn't resist an impulse to have some fun, especially when he could afford to be less careful than usual.
It was probably an hour (and a few toppled block towers) before he was tired enough to stop, enough that his current break would've been a quick breather if his seemingly-exhausted partner didn't ask him to stop so she could take a rest.
After a few minutes, his partner told him she needed a drink of water, and made him promise that he was going to stay right there until she got back. Which he fully intended on doing, though that didn't mean his hands couldn't wander around. And they shortly came into contact with something hard among all this softness.
Curious, he reached out to it, his hands brushing up against something round and smooth. He grabbed the object from below, lifting it up to get a better chance to observe it. It wasn't too heavy, though he was dissuaded from shaking it to check if anything was inside there when he realized it was egg-shaped. A rather large egg, but not something too strange.
He wasn't sure what to do with it, but in his investigations, he rubbed the egg several times. Enough times that the egg began to crack. His moment of terror over accidentally damaging the egg went away when he felt the egg move around; he could feel as the egg broke apart, until something pushed it out of his hands.
And then into his hands landed something small, squishy, and quite giddy if its giggling meant anything.
His curiosity peaked, Hideo went on to inspect this new creature in his hands. It was pretty much just a round blob, save for the two ears that were slightly pointed at the tips, though still very soft. Softer than Kuki was when she was in her smaller form. He was probably tickling the thing, because it started laughing as he poked and prodded it.
It was actually pretty nice. Was this what all digimon were like when they were born? Was this what Kuki was like when she came out of her egg? He'd have to ask her when she got back.
He'd yet to realize he was surrounded by a small number of these small, squishy fresh digimon. And they were getting closer and closer to him. Nor did he notice the one crawling on his backpack, steadily making its way up to his head.

This place was perhaps one of the more unusual locations that Chiaki had ever been to, well ok, so the entire digital world was unusual. It was just...there were eggs, there were baby blobs of flesh that couldn't really exist, but somehow still did. There were huts and..and..and...The girls confused rumble of thoughts were interrupted, broken off by the feeling of a tiny hand pulling on her sleeve. Chiaki let her brown eyes drop down to the white being that was sitting up in her bag, fingers curled into the fabric of her sleeve. A smile beamed up from Tatsu's space as she pointed towards a path in the village with her free hand. The teenager glanced down the path, a bundle of young digmon surrounding what looked like a young boy, stalking him like a pack of wolves closing in on their prey. There wasn't anything for it but to smile, one hand coming up to her mouth as Chiaki tried her best to stifle a laugh as she glanced down at the Digimon looking pleadingly at her. "I guess you wanna join in huh?" Rewarded by an eager nod and another tug the girl pulled her bag open, leaning down to allow Tatsu to scramble out and run across the ground to join in with the encircling digimon as the girl stood again, biting down on a balled up fist as she stared at the scene, every bit as eager as her digimon to see what would happen. She knew she should probably call out to warn him, but the scene was just too cute for her to even think about speaking up, Chiaki knew she'd have to apologise later, but for now, bated breath had never been so relevant. That little squishy creature in his hand stopped hopping around, instead opting to turn in place, its giddiness seemingly halted. Hideo was unaware it was assessing all of the other babies surrounding him, or that it had nodded to let them know he wasn't a threat. But the first thing that hinted to him there was something strange about to happen was the feeling of something plop on his head. Small, soft, squishy, and moving around on its own; he didn't even have to check to know that this was a baby digimon on his head. But there was still that one on his hands...which meant this was another baby digimon. He was dying to know if it was just like the one he was already holding, but before he could even start to reach out to assess it, he felt another one, this time brushing against his side. And then another one against his knee. And another on the other knee. And then one bumped against his cheek before rolling onto his shoulder. There was little he could do about the horde of baby digimon that swarmed him - or rather, there was little he thought he could do; if these were soft baby digimon, then he might hurt them if he tried moving them off. And if they were babies, would they even understand him? In just a few moments, Hideo could feel them begin to struggle for a spot on their body, a few of them even crying out or grunting as they pushed each other for space. " Don't fight!" he quietly pleaded, unable to actually intervene due to his hands quite literally full with other digimon. He had to think of a solution before they actually hurt each other... And came up with a fairly simple solution. Carefully, he put the digimon on his hands back down on the ground, placed his bag by his side (careful to make sure that he hadn't crushed any babies), and laid flat on the ground. " See? There's space for everyone!" A decision he came to regret fairly quickly as they swarmed his body, a couple even taking a spot on his head. And it felt like some of them were still fighting over who got a spot. Well, now he couldn't do anything without getting them all off his body. So he went with the one option he had left. He asked aloud, though not so loud as to shout - he didn't want to agitate the babies. " Hey? Anyone there? I could use some help..." Chiaki Kuroda

It was kinda sweet actually, the boy was so determined not to hurt any of the baby digimon, his handling of the little balls of cuteness almost delicate as if he was scared that even the slightest touch would shatter the babies who were crawling all over him. For a moment he was visible, and then he utterly vanished below a blanket of excited chittering digimon. The teenager had to stifle the urge to giggle, to pull out her camera and snap a shot of the scene, it was just too cute. Taking a moment Chiaki padded softly towards the pile, careful not to let her footsteps get too loud, She didn't think that the digimon would choose to hurt the boy of their own choice, but when people got too excited they could often do something without meaning to. And when you were talking about people with claws, people who could spit for or ice it just became just that much more important to be careful. Babies and toddlers though, they were the same the world over, all of them unwilling to give up their new toys. Standing just back from the pile the girl rested her hands on her hips, her lips pursed as she let hazel eyes rove over the scene, the urge to break down into giggles almost overwhelming. Clenching her hands into fists by her side as she bit down on her lip to control herself. "Hey, don't move under there. Just hold on, I'll see what I can do." One look at the excited blanket was all the confirmation that she needed to tell that picking them off one at a time wouldn't work. What she needed was a way to get rid of them all at one...or. A smile blossomed on her face as she spotted a familiar white digimon scrabbling in the pile playing with the boy'/s shirt. "Ahem, Tatsu, a little bit of love here please." The tiny mini angel poked it's head up, golden eyes locking into her partner before nodding. Closing her eyes Tatsu let golden energy collect in her horn before letting explode out. As the wave passed over them the other baby digimon stopped their chittering and moving, a stillness filling the air broken only by the sound of Chiaki clapping her hands into a shooing motion. "Ok guys, off off, let him get up." Still under the influence of Tatsu's aura the babies rolled off Hideo, coming to rest around him leaving just the solitary white Digimon sitting on his chest, little hands reaching down to crumple his shirt into a nest as she curled up comfortable against him. Seasons of Love: Kyupimon’s horn starts to glow, releasing an aura that confuses everyone surrounding her with feelings of geniality and love. This acts as a distraction to any opponent, making them more likely to fail an attack, or agree simply because they feel so happy. (This aura lasts for 2 turns and has a cooldown of two turns.)

Just when he thought the baby tide would overtake him and crush him under his weight, he heard a voice. For a brief moment, he thought it was Kuki coming back at the most opportune moment, but realized that this person was speaking much more calmly than his partner would've in this situation. Also, she didn't sound anything like Kuki. Hideo would've nodded when the girl offered to help, though he feared that might have made one of the babies fall off his head. So all he could afford to mutter was an " Ok," before anticipating just how this girl was going to help him. Take them off one by one? Distract them with something else? He could hear a strange noise, one he never heard before. Hideo could then hear the baby digimon go quiet before he could feel a wave wash over him. It felt...nice, like first getting into bed with a freshly-cleaned blanket on a winter night. All that anxiety about being crushed under a bunch of babies went away before they even began to move off of him. They all stopped quarreling over a spot and either rolled or bounced off of him. Except for one, though. But this one felt different. None of the babies he felt were anything other than blobs with maybe a stub or two protruding from its body. None of them had hands or fingers. And yet the digimon on top of him was definitely tugging on his shirt, moving it around into a strange shape before claiming it as a resting spot. This must have been the one who spoke to him, who did whatever-she-did to make those baby digimon get off of him. Whether she did so out of kindness or because she wanted a spot of her own didn't really matter - she saved him. Carefully, his body rose back up, his arms acting as a support for the resting digimon so it could still keep its spot. " Thanks for getting them off of me," he said, his focus purely on her, " I didn't know there were so many babies around here!" He wasn't even aware of the girl, just looking down at the digimon he was holding. Looking down as best he could, anyways. His eyes were still closed, but it was pretty easy to know where to face when he was holding the one he was talking to. " How did you do that, anyways? It felt really nice!" Chiaki Kuroda

The young Digimon looked up from her position settled on Hideo's chest, amber eyes blinking up at him innocently. "I made them love and happy so they'd leave you alone." The tiny white being nodded sagely as if that was all the explanation that was necessary, looking up at Hideo with a self-satisfied smile, and almost expectant look in her eyes. "They won't bother you again!" The digimon nuzzled her head into his chest for a moment before looking up at him again with those large amber eyes. "You know, she won't stop until you scratch her head." Chiaki stepped carefully over the ring of Digimon, reaching out to scratch the back of Tatsu's head as she purred with pleasure before cracking open one eye. "A good job deserves a good reward!" The teenager didn't even try to fight the smile pulling at her lips as she reached down to scratch her partner's back eliciting a soft purr of contentment from Tatsu. "She'll never admit it but she absolutely loves back scratches." Pulling back the girl glanced down at the crowd of eager digimon around their feet. "On the other hand, this isn't going to last forever so..." a smile pulled at her lips as she offered a hand to the boy, " and we probably don't wanna be waiting around here when they decide it's time to swarm you again. I don't know about you but I can't think it'd be good for my hair." Chiaki offered Hideo a wink and a smile as Tatsu bounded off his chest, scrambling up her arm to pull at her hair. "It's a rat's nest anyway," she allowed with a playful grin at Hideo, "I can't see why you'd be so worried about anything happening to it." Hideo Kino

Hideo held his smile through his confusion, arising when the digimon in his arms spoke with a distinctively different voice than before. The only indication that he was surprised was his head shooting up when he heard the first voice again - in the same direction as before. Definitely not in his arms. He motioned over to actually give the small digimon a head-scratch, taking her statement at face-value - as a reward for helping him out (and also out of curiosity of what this digimon's head was shaped like - Kuki's was definitely interesting to feel), though he stopped when he could feel the girl gently scratching the digimon he was holding. " So you two are partners?" he asked, assuming the probably-taller girl was this digimon's partner. He stayed where he was sitting. It wasn't just because he didn't see her offer her hand, though. " I'm actually waiting for my partner to get back...she said she needed to get a drink, and was gonna bring me some too." How long had it been since she'd gone? He could've sworn she said there was a stream pretty close-by, though that was before he found out how bouncy the ground was. " Did you see her at all? She's a big pink spider...well, big for a spider." He didn't even notice that she had come back at this point, quietly making her way towards him, water bottle in mouth, though she carefully kept her eyes on the other human and her partner. Glaring eyes that were sure to meet theirs. Though the main reason she wasn't running was so she didn't startle any of the placated babies, who all were still completely blissed out by the in-training's ability. " So...how long does that wave last? Because I'm still feeling pretty good." Chiaki Kuroda

"You know, I honestly have absolutely no idea. I've only ever seen her use it a couple of times before. The first time she used it was on me I think and I'm not entirely sure it's completely worn off." The girl gave Hideo a sheepish smile, fingers still scratching the back of Tatsu's head for a moment longer eliciting a purr of happiness from the mini-angel before she pulled her fingers back, her hands falling to her side as she stood. "Normally it doesn't last too long, maybe a few minutes at the most...we haven't really been together for all that long so I'm still figuring her out." The girl gave a soft laugh, bowing her head towards the boy, "I'm sorry, you're right I haven't even introduced myself, we just showed up. A smile pulled up at her lips as she bent at the waist, bending into a small bow, "I'm Chiaki, Chiaki Kuroda, and that little scamp whose decided that your chest is a great place to hang out is my partner Tatsu. We were just going for a walk nearby and heard you call for help so decided to come over." The smile still on her face Chiaki let her eyes flick out over the scene, at the sea of baby digimon edging closer to them. "A big pink spider, kind like her?" The girl's head nodded at Kuki, offering her a smile as she glanced at the other digimon surrounding them. "You know, I didn't realise that the kids in the village could be this...terrifying. They always seemed so cute" Hideo Kino

He couldn't resist sympathizing with the girl's inexperience with her partner. " I haven't been with my partner that long either, and I still find out new stuff that she can do every day. And I swear, she keeps finding new places to stuff her webs." Just the day before, she found out she stuffed some in his pockets. He had no idea why she'd so something like that, and it was kinda hard to believe her when she said it was just because " I thought you might need some." Oh, right. He hadn't even introduced himself to his savior. " My name's Hideo Kino! And my partner's a Kumomon, thought I like to call her-" " Kuki." He nearly jumped when he heard her voice so suddenly - he had no idea she was right behind him, having alright maneuvered over the babies, and already stuffed the water bottle into Hideo's bag. " Hideo, mind explaining the circle of babies around you? And who are they?" Hideo didn't know she was pointing at Chiakai and her partner, but it was pretty easy to assume who she meant by "they". " Well, I found an egg - at least, I think it was an egg. And then it hatched in my hands. Then a whole bunch of baby digimon came by and wanted to be with me too. And there were a lot more than I thought...I might've gotten crushed by them if Chiaki didn't come by to help." Kuki picked up Hideo's bag - as best as she could without fingers - and pressed it against one of his dangling hands. He caught on pretty quickly, picking it up into his arms. " I guess I owe you two a thanks, but it's probably a good idea to get out of here before whatever you did wears off. I know we will." Before Hideo could even put his bag back on, Kuki sweeped him up, one leg underneath his knees and another behind his back. A single, clean movement that took less than a second, and she was holding him in a bridal carry. " Could you tell me next time you do that?" he asked, his previous smile now contorted into something much more neutral as he just clung to the bag now resting where Tatsu had moments before. " No promises." She looked back towards the other pair as she maneuvered around the circle of baby digimon. " You two should come with us. Odds are these babies will mob you next if you stick around." They wouldn't go too far - just far enough to get out of sight of the babies, so once the in-training's ability wore off, they'd just wander off and go do something else. Chiaki Kuroda

"You know, you might be onto something there," The teenager gave the slowly tightening circle of digimon babies closing around them a worried glance as she reached down to scoop up Tatsu, depositing the mini-angel on her shoulder, her partner reaching out to wind one of her hands through the girl's long brunette tresses amber eyes staring down at the crowd that were starting to bounce again. "Yeah yeah, let's get outta here!" It wasn't hard of Chiaki to clear the crowd surrounding them, a small hop and a jump and she had cleared them, her long-legged strides carrying the two of them swiftly away from the chasing crowd as she followed Kuki the two of them quickly outpacing their followers who scattered, looking for the next minutes entertainment. "You know," she twisted her head around to stare at her partner, "I wish you were so easily distracted now. It'd make getting the snacks away from you that much easier." "Yeah...but then you wouldn't get to use me as an excuse to have snacks yourself." The girl stared at her partner speechlessly for a moment, "You know, I totally prefered you when you couldn't talk back, you were bouncing around like them just a few days ago." "What can I say...I'm just awesome." Chiaki left Tatsu preening on her shoulder as she glanced over at the spider, offering her a tight smile. "Thanks for the reminder...we were getting a little distracted by well," she gestured up at the happy little digimon humming away on her shoulder as she plaed with Chiaki's hair, pausing for a moment to smile at Kuki, waving at her. "She can't really control it and tends to pull everyone else along with her. We're still working on that, but you know work in progress."

It was fortunate that Kuki carried Hideo out of the circle when she did, as no sooner did she get him away than Tatsu's ability wore off, and the babies were quite eager to once again "play" with the newcomers, pursuing them, whether by slow levitation, rolling, or bouncing towards them. But it was a short-lived pursuit - the much-larger Kuki and Chiaki didn't have any struggle outpacing the babies, and it wasn't long until the little ones gave up, deciding to go elsewhere to find their time-wasting amusement. There wasn't much Hideo could do while Kuki carried him away - his hands were occupied holding his bag, and he knew she wasn't going to let him go until they were away from all those baby digimon. The most he could do was just eavesdrop on Chiaki and her partner talk to each other. Seemed like they had a pretty friendly relationship, more like really good friends. " This should be a safe enough spot," Kuki announced, gently placing her partner back on the ground, his back to the pillar they'd be hiding from. Not a very effective hiding spot from anyone that was actually looking for them, but it would be out of sight of the babies should they want to mob the poor kid again. She turned to the other pair, her interest peaked when they mentioned her partner "couldn't control it". " When you say that...did you mean you used some kind of attack to make them all calm down like that? Did you also affect Hideo with that?" " Maybe?" the boy answered, placing his bag back by his side. " I could hear them do something, and then I just felt calm. I was starting to get scared of all those babies maybe crushing me, but that all went away when he did that thing. I just felt really good." This made his partner look back towards him, then back at the other pair. " There...aren't any long-term effects of that ability, right? Like, he won't be permanently blissed out from now on?" Hideo sighed. " Kuki, I'm fine. It wore off when you were carrying me away." " Well, you can't be too careful. Mind-altering stuff can be weird like that." He really wished she'd be less skeptical all the time. It was probably best he got her mind off of that, before she started alienating his saviors. " Have you guys been partners for a while? It sounded like your partner was just a baby too until a few days ago. I got to meet Kuki when she was already like this, so she's been able to talk to me all the time." Chiaki Kuroda

"So, what are we doing here? Babies won't put up much of a fight." The high-pitched, monotone voice of the small creature, next to the human pointed out, in as crass a manner as ever. "We are not gonna fight babies! I just want... I don't know... I'm tired of you constantly dragging us into fights... I thought maybe we could-" He was cut off by a quick nudge by the muscular elbow of one of Smamemon's arms, before he sighed, "-I mean I thought I could catch a break..." He corrected, reluctantly. He had forgotten how much the small ball of seething fury hated being referred to, as if the two had the same outlook. "I mean... it's literally a village for babies, right?" Nelson asked, tapping his fingers against each other, nervously. "Yeah, that's why it's the Village of Beginnings, everyone starts and restarts here." Smamemon explained, planting both his fists on the ground, lifting his body up, before swinging with his legs, forward, his equivalent of an average pace, as his short little legs weren't that useful for much other than jumping, and that wasted energy for him.
Nelson stared around, the whole place looked like a mass of tiny wooden baby shape tools, he had expected some baby stuff, but he did find it odd that even the structures would be constructed from toys and trinkets, especially those of that size. It was then he felt it. That crawling feeling, of someone watching him. He instinctively stiffened, and slowly turned his head, spying what looked like a pink, three-fingered hand made of red jelly, with two beady eyes staring back at him. Smamemon had noticed his general freeze, and turned to look at the source of distress. If there was one thing his general was good at, it was detecting foreign entities around them. Smamemon was the next to establish eye contact, and for the slightest moment, he stole a glance at Nelson, who still seemed to be waiting for someone to make the first move, so Smamemon decided to take the initiative. He spoke nothing, but stepped forward, with his short little legs, he started towards the baby-level, bumping his fists against one another.
Nelson was snapped out of his fear-based trance, as his partner stomped on, as he then moved with surprising speed, interposing himself between his partner and the tiny, squishy creature. "What? It wants a fight, look at it." Smamemon said, far too calmly and reasonably for what his current plan of action was. "No it's not! It's just a baby! Look, it's harmless!" He explained, turning towards the Punimon and smiling, "Right, little guy?" He asked, before the baby-level spat foam bubbles at the human boy's face, hitting him dead in the eye. He cried out in alarm and stumbled backwards, as Punimon's antennae stood up on end, emitting a little squeak before hopping off, as Smamemon didn't change their expression, but they raised their arms up, charging after the baby level, "Imma break it." He chanted, as he followed behind the similar sized creature. Nelson clutched his eye, rubbing it fiercely, before stumbling after the first two, "Wait! He didn't know any better! Don't crush him! That's an order! Hello??" He cried, helplessly, as he was having the most trouble getting Punimon's defensive measure out of his eyes, while keeping track of his partner, and chasing them further into the village.

"It's not been all that long," Chiaki admitted, "Maybe a couple of weeks now, it's kinda amazing how normal this all has become, though my parents are probably wondering what happened to all the treats they hide around the house. It's almost like Tatsu's part bloodhound, not an angel." "The snacks, they call to me. Can't you hear them they're crying 'Tatsu we're lonely, come save us.' As she spoke the tiny Digimon grasped a hold of Chiaki's shirt, using it to scramble down her partner as she jumped down to the floor, padding over to Kuki and holding out a hand to the larger spider. "Hi, I'm Tatsu. I'm sorry about hitting Hideo with my attack but I didn't want to let him get eaten or crushed. There aren't any long-term side effects, at least we've never found any." The Digimon offered up a smile, "I promise to never do it again...you know unless it's an emergency." She'd never expected to have to use it in the first place so the Digimon swallowed her thoughts of making a promise to never do it again, you just never knew where life would take you, and she didn't intend to be caught in a situation where she couldn't do whatever it took to protect herself or her friends. As Tatsu scrambled down and introduced herself to Kuki, Chiaki couldn't help but feel almost proud of her partner as she tried to apologise. A smile settling on her face the girl took a step back, letting her hazel gaze sweep over the landscape glancing back at the village they had so recently escaped from. The village looked calm now, a look that Chiaki knew was a thin veneer. She didn't think any of the babies had any malicious intent, they just got excited, perhaps a little too excited about anything new. She just knew that next time they ventured back into the village like the two people there that she'd bring a distraction with her. The two people there, with one of the babies they'd played with. Without thinking about it the girl took off in a run, her long hair streaming out behind her leaving Tatsu to squawk out a surprised "Chi?" before the angel span, scrambling after her partner., chasing the new arrivals towards the village. "Wait stop, what're you doing?"SmokeMarch | Hideo Kino

" Tatsu's an angel?" Hideo asked aloud. He wasn't too familiar with what angels were supposed to be like, but from what he was told, angels were supposed to be like humans with big feathery wings and gold circles called halos over their head. And from that small time Tatsu was sitting on his chest and his arms, he definitely felt feathers, but this digimon definitely wasn't shaped like a human. Kuki watched the Kyupimon crawl his way up his partner before offering a hand out. No doubt for a handshake. " Well, I guess it was necessary to help Hideo out. If you have to use it again, let us know first." She extended one of her legs into the in-training's grip - she didn't have any fingers to grasp his tiny hand with, so this was the best she could do for a handshake. She didn't like that he didn't know if his attack had any long-term side effects, though. But it just meant she'd have to keep an eye out on how Hideo was acting for a bit. It's not like an in-training could make a permanent change though...right? Their little moment of peace didn't last long, though it wasn't one of the babies that were responsible: the arguing between another person and their digimon as the latter chased after a baby. Kuki didn't know if that was one of the baby digimon that had nearly crushed her partner moments ago - they were all just dangerous blobs to her mind at that point - but it was still obvious that this mon was chasing down the baby with intent to harm, despite what its partner wanted. Chiaki was already running over to stop them, and Kuki had it in her mind to join her. After clearing something up, that is. " Kuki? What's going on?" Of course Hideo wouldn't know what was going on; all he had to hear was a concerned Chiaki, another human in distress, and a monotone rookie expressing its desire to hurt something. " Looks like we got a couple more people showing up. Another human, who can't seem to control his digimon. Said digimon is chasing after a baby...clumsily. It's a round-ball-looking 'mon with hands and legs coming out, in case you were wondering." Better to just tell him what it was like, before he got tempted to check it himself. " Hideo, wait here. We're gonna deal with this." She took a few steps away before pausing and looking back. " If any more babies start to mob you again, just give me a shout." Hideo knew he didn't have any other choice, so he simply nodded, giving a thumbs up as well. With that, Kuki followed Chiaki over, remaining silent, ready to help stop this guy if words weren't enough. Hopefully, the human's words would be better at de-escalating the situation than her own. Which wouldn't be a high bar to pass. Chiaki KurodaSmokeMarch

The tiny digimon, surprisingly, obeyed Chiaki, stopping his running, and lifting himself up on his arms, to turn to face the girl. "I'm gonna punch that mush-ball. It attacked my commander." He explained, frighteningly casually. With that, the spherical digimon hoisted itself into the air, once more, to return his attention to the rapidly bouncing Punimon. Meanwhile, the human partner turned his head back to the unknown voice, finally clearing the foam from one of his eyes, identifying a human girl, which made his eye widen, in shock. Humans were a rare sight in the digital world, since few could easily traverse in and out of the world, which wasn't exactly surprising, given the fact the digital world was not common knowledge to the public.
His shock, and neglect to focus on what was ahead, he stubbed his toe on his round partner, sending him face-first, forward, with a surprised, if soft "Oh." before he crashed, face first into the dirt. Smamemon was also pitched forward, from the blow to the back of it's head, although it's expression remained eerily blank, as the two of them were sent into the dirt, their faces impacting the dirt at somehow the exact same time. Nelson shot up, instantly, while Smamemon was a lot more methodical in his dislodging from the soil, dirt crumbling away on his perfectly round face.
The human clutched his nose, in pain, his eyes welling up slightly, as usual for a blow on the nose. "This soil's nice and soft. Good for planting stuff, I think." Smamemon commented, staring at his personal crater, which bore an imprint of Smamemon's eyes and silly grin, inside. "That's cause you have a metal face! That's not fair!" Nelson whined, rubbing his face and patting his clothing, to get the dirt off. Smamemon shrugged, "Not really worth chasing a coward, anyways." He concluded, instinctively ignoring his commander's whining, while giving a final emotionless glare towards the red blob that was ducking around a corner, out of sight.
