Ry huffed, striking the wooden dummy again from the upper right, trying to imitate a chopping strike. He reverted back into his stance, breathing in and breathing out quickly. He'd never been one to practice martial arts, in fact, he had never learned any sort of martial arts at all, but he had to now. Considering that he had been fighting frequently, usually not by his own choice, he thought he should get accustomed to it.
Ry sighed, even though he had been training this much so far, he didn't know the first thing that he was doing. The Dinohumon that was running the place had taught him the basic martial art forms for the better part of the couple days that he had been there, and now he had told Ry to practice by himself to perfect his form. Also because the Dinohumon couldn't just focus on him and had to go to the others as well to help.
Even though Dinohumon had gone through each of the forms precisely, Ry wasn't sure if he caught on well enough. Dinohumon came back frequently to correct his form whilst Ry practiced by himself, to ensure that he wasn't practicing the wrong thing, but even so, Ry didn't feel as i he was actually getting better.
He gave a cry and then struck from the left, then retreated back again once more with a huff. He sighed, he'd be really pissed if this was all for nothing in the end.

The weight of the digimon settled on her shoulder, one tiny hand curling through her hazel hair as it gazed around in wonder. It was a new experience for both of them, it couldn't be real, Tatsu's very existence denied every rule of science that Chiaki was aware of, a life form apparently constructed out pure digital data. but...she seemed so real, smelled and reacted like anyone else she had ever seen. Grinning the girl reached up to her shoulder, fingers tickling Tatsu's stomach as the mini angel squirmed and giggled, reaching out to bat at Chiaki's finger. "Heeeey...quit it." A tiny hand prodded her cheek as her partner glared at her, "That's so mean...I'm gonna draw on your face tonight! You just see if I don't!" her threat delivered the white Digimon scrambled up to perch on top of the teenager's head, glancing around the training grounds, "Or maybe I'll just chop you like that!" Putting action to her words the tiny digimon brought her hand crashing down on Chiaki's head, "WHAM!" Tatsu broke out in a fit of giggling as Chiaki glared up at her leg, the only part of the digimon's body still in her field of view. "You little monster...don't forget you need me to buy you more pocky. More chops means no treats...what do you think of that then." Tatsu raised her hand for a moment, staring at her hand before she very gently patted the brunette hair she was sitting on. "Nice Chiaki's gotta buy me all the chocolate!" "I thought so."
A satisfied smile tugged up the girl's lips as she tore her attention away from the digimon long enough to dance around a pillar erected in the middle of the training area. Coming to check out the training area had seemed like such a smart idea, only it didn't look that different. Like any old martial arts training area from the movies, replete with a man running through the motions of a strike...a very familiar looking man. "Fancy running into a guy like you in a place like this."

Ry blinked and snapped out of his thoughts to find a familiar girl looking at him, he smiled, "Chiaki, what a surprise, good to see you again after we got separated last time."
Then he finally noticed the little being that was clinging on to the girl's hair and sat on her shoulder, something that looked like a small white monster with angelic features, or so Ry guessed. He'd never seen an angel before, or a digimon that small. He leaned in, grinning, and pointed at the digimon, "Who's this little guy?"
Feeling like a bad host if he started up training again in front of his friend, he stopped his training and grabbed the towel that was on the floor next to him. It didn't really matter if the towel was dirt-stained seeing as he was already pretty dirty, he just needed something to absorb his sweat.
"Well, after we parted, I ran into a lot of... horrible events," which was definitely understating his experiences, and he cringed a little bit from remembering them, "I thought I needed to power up if I want to avoid getting into that sort of trouble again, and I've been told that this was a good place to train."
He glanced back up to the tiny digimon on her shoulder, and then back to Chiaki, "I should say the same to you though, what are you two doing here?"

"It was a kinda...abrupt parting," the girl agreed, the ghost of a smile dancing around her lips as she let a small smirk flash back at the man. "I'm glad you managed to get out of there safely, although it sounds like you've had yourself a little adventure along the way." From the sounds of it that was the understatement of the century, the look of the man was somehow different from the first time she'd seen him on the train, a little more focused.
The brunette held up a hand to her shoulder, providing a platform for Tatsu to scramble down, the little white angel staring at him suspiciously for a moment as she settled on her haunches in Chiaki's hand. The digimon took in Ry's dirt covered appearance before raising on hand in a small wave. "I am Tatsu the terrible, vanquisher of the chocolate pocky treats, Defender of the Chiaki and lord-empress of naps," she introduced herself with a small bow. "And you need a shower." The last was delivered with the straightfaced innocence of a kid, leaving Chiaki torn between horror and amusement,"Tatsu, you can't just go and say something like that!" "What he does!" "Well, it's rude." The teenager offered Ry a small apologetic look as she deposited her digimon on her shoulder, "Sorry, she's still learning tact. Honestly, it's nothing too special that got us here. Tatsu was getting a little bored of just wandering around the village and this place kinda looked like something right out of a martial arts movie so..." She grinned, gesturing to herself before her hands swept out to encompass the training grounds around them, "here we are."

Ry snorted, "Yeah, abrupt is definitely one way to put it," he said, recalling back how he was rudely shoved out the train by some force, and then fell into the Digital World, almost literally.
"I mean, I somehow managed to get out of there safely, but at the same time, I got into, uh, lots of trouble," which was definitely putting it lightly, and glancing at the expression on the girl, he sighed and ran his hand in his hair, "I got into trouble with at least seven champion digimon, then got threatened by some girl, got knocked out, ran into a volcano to get my spirit, but, I... well, at least I'm alive?"
He watched as the little angelic like being swept down from the girl's shoulder and unto her hand, and introduced herself with a grandiose gesture. He couldn't help but smirk, it reminded him of a similar small digimon being, although the one that he was more familiar with was purple.
"I am Ry, Ry Napraleon," bowing slightly in a teasing manner whilst introducing himself back, "Pleased to meet you."
Ry couldn't help but chuckle at Chiaki's flustered apology, "Well, Tatsu isn't wrong, I do kinda need a shower after all that," he admitted, looking down at his very dirt-stained top that was no longer white, "And don't worry, I'm nineteen and I'm still learning a little bit about tact myself."
"Well you're right about the martial arts part, I can introduce you to the leader of this place, who is..." he glanced at the big tent in the middle of the grounds, which was looking miserably empty, as per usual the Dinohumon was not around whenever he was needed, "Currently not here, of course."
Trying to shake off a little bit of his awkwardness, he pointed at Tatsu, "How did you guys meet, anyways?" he asked, "And I'm guessing that makes you a tamer now?"

“Yeah,” The girl reached up, scratching her Digimon under her chin as a smile pulled at her lips. “I’m still not entirely sure that any of this is real. I mean Tatsu’s real, I’ve seen a load of Digimon but…this entire thing seems to be just a little beyond the realm of the believable. I mean little creatures that grow out of eggs and can turn into…well giant dinosaurs and bugs for one. It doesn’t make any sense but still…here we are.”
The teenager waved her hands around, taking in the entirety of the field, the entirety of the digital world, “And I ended up as a partner with Tatsu, who is totally awesome for someone who can’t really exist.” “Well, if it helps, we always thought that humans were something that people made up, kinda like a bogeyman. Don’t run off or the human will get you…and now the human got me…I’m got! Help, Help!” Tatsu struggled playfully, batting her paws at Chiaki’s head as the girl wrapped her arms around Tatsu like a stuffed animal, hugging the Digimon to her chest as she grinned at Ry.
“After you decided that you were going to find out if this was the matrix and you could fly we ended up in the village with all the baby Digimon and….well the little girl here decided to take a shine to me and that was all she wrote. Although I have no idea how I’m going to explain this to my parents,” Chiaki’s lips curled up in a playful smile, “Hey so she followed me home, can I keep her…” she looked down at the digimon who had become obsessed with smoothing out the wrinkles on her shirt, “You’re not going to grow to the size of a house or anything right? Only I don’t think I could hide that.” Transferring her gaze to Ry the girl grinned, “A boring tale filled with Killer Digimon and surprise attacks…do you think they’ll make a movie out of it? That’d be kinda cool. How about you? Surviving ‘trouble’ with seven champions sounds…harrowing. How’d you manage that?”

Ry nodded, agreeing completely at what Chiaki told him, "Yeah, especially ones that can breathe fire and knock you out when you least expect it," he said, recalling his own experiences, then sighed, "Or you know, humans turning into giant red lizards, like me. When you think about it, I'm probably a crazier case than a lizard hatching out of an egg and turning into a bigger dinosaur."
Ry couldn't help but smile though when he saw the bond that the girl and the little angel-looking being have already developed in such a short time. He laughed as the angel joked and pawed at her tamer playfully, "What's it like having a partner?" he grinned at the small digimon, "Or well, what does it feel like now that a human got you?"
A village with all baby digimon... "Hey I think I went there earlier," he said, scrunching his brow in remembrance, "I hatched an egg, but I don't think it was meant to be my partner since I'm already a spirit user."
He grinned, attempting to poke at the little angel, "Tatsu here could probably pass as a white cat with fake wings, maybe," he said, "As long as she doesn't turn into a killer digimon, at least. And I think those movie copyrights have been taken by Godzilla already."
Ry chuckled nervously at the question, "I ran away? To be fair, I didn't have my spirit then yet, I wasn't able to fight."
He glanced down at his hands and balled it into a fist resolutely, "But I can now, or at least have the power now, and I need to be able to rein it in and control it," then he looked back up at the two, "I mean, that's what I'm doing here anyways."

Well I mean, if you get a load of bigger angry monsters trying to beat up on your running away seems like a good plan, at least till you're ready to take them on," the girl allowed before she froze, her head slowly rising as her hands froze in the midst of their playing with Tatsu as a pair of hazel eyes stared back at Ry. "Hold on...say that again...you said that you turn into a Digimon?" She couldn't have heard that right, could she? There was absolutely no way that he actually said that he turned into a 'giant red lizard'. Carefully Chiaki replayed the conversation in her head, no no he definitely said that he turned into a digimon.
The teenager let the silence drag out for a moment, for two before her face split into a brilliant smile. "So basically, what you're telling me is that you're a were-digimon? Do you feel a sudden urge to howl at the moon or you know shed scales I guess." There was a playful tone to Chiaki's voice, an amused light that danced through her eyes as she let go of Tatsu, letting the tiny digimon scrambled up to settle on her shoulder again. "So then I should be careful of letting you get close enough to bit me too then right."
A soft laugh escaped from her lips as the girl relented, the mini-angel tugging her hair to draw attention to herself. "You see what I have to put up with, it's tease about this, tickle there all day long." Glancing around Tatsu leaned forward, her voice dropping into a stage whisper, "But she does carry the best treats, so I guess I can forgive her that." The digimon glanced back at her partner with a hopeful, almost angelic smile. "It's not all bad, the food in the human world is waay better than the food we have here. Chawklite especially, it's the best ever! Have you tried it? What's a movie?"
"Something I still need to introduce you to," the girl answered with an indulgent smile, pulling a small box out of her bag and handing Tatsu a pocky which the digimon started devouring as the box was proffered in Ry's direction, "Want one?"
