Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God) [Naoko/Raspberyl]

Bean tried to keep up a smile. "Ah, have you had bad experiences with Meicoomon individuals in the past? I understand animosity, but know that not all of them are as bad as Lisa, or as the ones who have hurt you. Malice is not a matter of birth, but a matter of education." He giggled adorably when Titania praised him. "Ah, oh, you can call me Bernard. That's my actual name. Bean is just the shorter form!"
Yukiko nodded. "That could work well. We just need to sneak closer. Do you want to throw, or should I? I could probably toss them further, but I am sure you have better aim."

"...I mean. It's not like one killed Naoko's sister or anything. No. But -a good- portion of the ones I met? They've caused bad things. They took joy in that, Bean. I apologize if my assumptions are...incredibly exaggerated. You do raise a fine point, though..."
To say her bouts with the Hunter and K alike left a rather sour taste towards felines was but an understatement for Titania.
"I think precision would work better here. But that's just me." Naoko stated, clutching the rock tightly as she started to sneak closer, and closer. When she was at an ideal point to chuck the rock into the room, she reared her hand back and threw the rock in! It clattered with anything it hit!
When the Pawnchessmon went in--IF he went in, Naoko would turn back and whisper, "Now!"

Bean looked at Titania, and then just smiled, and wordlessly floated over and hugged her head. He had stated his point, and any reiterating or deepening would just make this girl sad. Mizu eventually joined him, hugging Titania's leg.
The rock ended up falling into a little office, loudly thumping against a desk. PawnChessmon took notice of this sound. He scratched his head, and approached the office. He peered in, and then actually stepped in to check. On Naoko's "Now!" Yuki rushed forward, closed the door behind the PawnChessmon, locked it...and giggled. It seemed crazy, but it also seemed to have the intended effect: The PawnChessmon rattled on the doorknob and said "Hey, this isn't funny, let me out, guys!". Seems that he thought it was a prank by co-workers. Yuki then waved over to Naoko and mouthed a "Let's hurry!".

The Fae tried to turn her head towards Bean and...squinted, briefly. She did realize that the gesture of affection was meant to calm her. It kind of did. She already was calm. But a little...bitter thanks to having to state her thoughts on Meicoomon. She looked down towards Mizu, kneeled, and patted the Betamon.
IT WORKED. It genuinely worked! Naoko put on the biggest smirk she's had since embarking on this...venture. It was probably pretty terrible to laugh at this. This was very illegal, too! But that was non eof her concern. Naoko hurried along after Yukiko upon being prompted, and whispered, "Alright, now we need to keep moving, and we need to move -fast!-"
Hopefully Yuki remembered the directions...!

Eventually Bean pulled back, still smiling. "Let us not trouble ourselves with bad memories. We need to be on guard, in case your Tamers need our help."
Yukiko nodded, and walked on ahead. Right, left, right, so now they had to turn right again... ...and indeed, there was a sign at the door in the distance reading "Royal Court Records". Only problem was there was a guard at the door, a burly D'Arcmon. Yuki held back Naoko to stop her from accidentally entering the guard's field of vision by accident. The guard -was- looking down at her aura reader, but better safe than sorry. "Well, this is suboptimal...what now?", Yuki whispered to Naoko. She looked around, as if she was looking for air vents or the like.

"Keep your ears peeled." Titania replied.
And thus? They waited.
While it was very prudent that Yukiko had stopped Naoko before she stepped into the view of that D'arcmon, it was also true that they were now in a very difficult spot. "...We do have the crystallized Ocean of Love..." So they had something to use in case things go bad. "Maybe we'll have to forego stealth and use our words to get through this one...What do you think?" She asked the muscular lady.
Naoko felt like getting into that room of records was pretty dang important, so did it really matter how they got in there? This whole thing was illegal either way. Either way, the girl awaited Yukiko's input on the matter before she'd decide on how to proceed.

Yukiko scratched her chin. This was, indeed, a tough situation. There seemed to be no immediately evident way of doing this sneakily. "...Mizu once told me if you act confident, and like you belong there, you can go anywhere without people asking questions...do you think we can act confident enough for that to work?" She wasn't too sure if -she- could act that confident, but she had faith that Naoko could. The girl managed to keep a rein on Titania of all people, after all. "Let us keep the Ocean of Love as a contingency plan, in case things go pear shaped..." While it would be useful right now, it felt like a waste to use it.

Yukiko may as well have just asked Naoko to do the impossible. Acting confident had never been, nor would it ever be one of her strong suits. Not now, not ever. "I...Want to say we can. I mean, we got through the Sunken Elysium that way, so...What's to say we can't get through this too?" Alone, she couldn't do it.
But together, maybe she could get through this. So, after a few long, and rather tense moments of preparation, Naoko rounded the corner and cleared her throat. "Hi, so...May I speak to you for a few moments?" There was no stuttering. Just...calm. She felt like this was one way to start things off...The digimon -was- on her aura reader...Maybe she wouldn't be so hard to speak to.

Well, this would be the toughest part of the infiltration so far. Yukiko had to look confident, and social, two things she found -very- hard to do. Regardless, she did not leave Naoko at the mercy of D'Arcmon, and joined her side, trying to look calm and confident despite the nervous mess she was on the inside. Maybe letting Naoko talk was a good idea, Mizu once told her that Naoko "had a way with girls", whatever that meant.
As Naoko spoke, D'Arcmon looked up from her aura reader. Her first instinct was to grab her spear and assume a wide-legged stance to block the entrance. But then she realized she was talking to humans. Humans? In here? What was the meaning of this? They seemed harmless enough. Master Lisa always said guilty people smelled like the sea, and these girls smelled of perfume at most. So, she quickly relaxed, stood up straight once more, and cleared her throat. "Can I help you two? Are you lost?" Master Lisa always said humans were weak and useless. A lot of people in Luminas took this to mean they could bully them around. But to D'Arcmon that meant humans were soft and delicate creatures one had to handle with the utmost care.

As Naoko had approached the D'arcmon, she steeled herself a little further for the response of the angel. Oh gosh. "Hi, ma'am. Uh, we're not necessarily lost but we...need some help in proving someone's innocence. Hence why we're in here." Hopefully nobody would mention how illegal this was. In truth, Naoko would hope that her words were enough to convince the angel of their intent.
She wasn't really that good with girls, but she was good at talking. "So...Uh. I hope we're not overstepping our territory when I request access into that room, Lady D'arcmon." That honorific better win some brownie points.

Yukiko stood behind Naoko, letting her talk. She tried putting on a serious expression, both to hide her own nervousness, and to give Naoko an extra aura of intimidation by having a big, buff woman standing behind her.
D'Arcmon scratched her chin, processing what Naoko had just told her. Her face was a bit blushy due to the honorific. Hmmm, Mistress Lisa had forbidden entry to anyone to these chambers...but these were humans. Humans were harmless, weren't they? Mistress Lisa said so, herself. What could be the danger of letting some cute humans in? But on the other hand...if Mistress Lisa ends up finding out she might get into hot water. The wrath of her boss was terrifying... "...You know, I would love to let you in and help an innocent, but my Boss kinda told me to not let anyone in, and if she finds out I defied her orders she might have me strapped to a rack and apply a dentist drill to my Digicore..."

In truth, Naoko kind of forgot that she had a big buff lady behind her to help for intimidation purposes. She was really just trying to appeal to whatever morality lay behind the shell of an angelic Digimon. Surely, that existed here in such a holy place, yes?
"Well, miss...That kind of puts us at an impasse. While we'd like to abide by that, a friend of ours might actually die if we don't get in there. Like...wrongfully killed and the like. And that's something we don't want to happen." Naoko explained, calmly. "So...I'd...like to posit a question. Do you want to save a life or save your job...?"

Naoko's piercing question had the intended effect. D'Arcmon's eyes widened as she thought it over. At her core, she was a kind, steadfast defender of justice. The life of an innocent meant a lot to her. But on the other hand...Mistress Lisa terrified her. She's heard the tales of how those who defied her orders disappeared and never returned... ...it was a matter of whether her own life mattered more to her than the life of an innocent...
D'Arcmon seemed to freeze in indecision, but after a few minutes of silence, she reached into her pocket and pulled out a key. With shaking hands, she turned around, and unlocked the door. "...p-p-p-please, save your friend." The two would need to squeeze past her. She was frozen on the spot, shaking from sheer terror.

Though Naoko was not expecting her question to have the effect it did, it was the...sheer fear that was on that D'arcmon's face that sort of alerted her to how serious the hole she and Yuki had gotten into was. By chance, too. "...We will. We'll make sure everything's fine. So...Don't be scared, okay?" She was trying sound the slightest bit sympathetic.
After all, she was scared too. Naoko moved to hug the D'arcmon briefly before she squeezed past her, and into the door to the Court Records. They had worked quite a bit to get here...So where did they have to look first for Abigail Williams' records?

D'arcmon accepted the hug, but just gulped and kept shaking. Whatever Lisa could do to her, it had to be terrifying.
The two then stepped into a large, stuffy office. The walls were lined with shelves and closets full of folders, books and diskettes. A faint hum of server towers running filled the air. The walls reached far into the distance, and faded into darkness, as the only source of light in the room was a small lamp hanging from the ceiling above a desk. At this desk, behind towers of books and folders, sat a Lucemon. A Lucemon wearing ridicolously oversized glasses. His eyes looked comically huge behind them. When the door opened, he turned to the two girls entering, and narrowed his eyes. Then he rolled his eyes. "D'Arcmon, why are you bothering me? And who is that Angemon with you? I am a very busy man, you know!"
