The PawnChessmon had just enough to turn and for one to say "What the-" before they were engulfed in a cloud of pink mist created from the impacting heart, with heart-shaped particles floating between it. Once it dissipated, they turned to them, and the one at the front spoke in a cheerful voice.
"Hey, you two! You visitors here? Then you're in the wholly wrong place! Come on, we'll lead ya back to the exit! Make sure to not get lost again, let someone gets mad at you!"
The PawnChessmon seemed utterly peaceful and even friendly now. They did not question the presence of the two. In fact, they seemed a bit dazed and wobbly...

Naoko was not sure what she had been expecting when she threw the heart. Sure, this was something made by what she was aware had been a Mega level Digimon, but she didn't expect it to just turn into a big mist and engulf all the PawnChessmon! What had occurred next shocked her even more.
They were not only completely friendly to her and Yukiko, but offered to escort them out. Naturally, Naoko was not keen on being accompanied by these guys--who knows what they'd do when this wore off? So... "Thank you, um, we don't need help getting back to the exit, but thank you for the offer!"
And with that, she grabbed Yuki's hand and made a run for said exit!

The PawnChessmon seemed a bit sad when Naoko turned down their offer. Still, they kept up their cheery demeanor.
"Alrighty you two, take care!~"
Yuki yipped when Naoko grabbed her hand and began dragging her. She had to run, knowing that she was probably too heavy for Naoko to pull alone.
Thanks to the Ocean, they managed to reach the exit, where Bean and their Partners were waiting. Before Yukiko could catch herself she got glomped by Mizu, who clung to her and said "Ohgodsohgodsiwassoworriedyoureback!"
Bean, meanwhile, did a few air hops and twirled around when the two exited.
"You did it! You made it out! Oh, I am so relieved! Now we can save Abigail!"

Titania stood up as the duo returned. You couldn't see it but she had an amused smirk on her face at Mizu's...comical amounts of worry. "Good to see you managed to do it." Was there an iota of pride in that statement?
Possibly.
Naoko took a few seconds to catch her breath, before she gave Bean the file. "I can't imagine we have a lot of time if Lisa means to eliminate Abigail as though she were an obstacle, do we? Uh...Where do we go from here?" Because quite honestly, detested as they were?
Meicoomon were rather efficient at getting things done when they're assed to.

When Bean grabbed the file he hugged it close and twirled in air, full of relief and elation.
"Ahahahaha, yes, with this, we can get Abigail out of death row!"
And where would they go from here?
"Well, if I know Lisa well enough, she will soon enough realize that Abigail's file got copied, and will hastily hold court to get her persecuted before anything can happen to stop her! If you ask me, we stay near the court house, and watch out for either her, or her right hand woman Ophanimon to approach! Chances are if they do, court will be held!"

With little stopping them from being able to prove Abigail's innocence, all that would be needed left now would be to get to the courthouse ASAP. An easy arrangement overall in the grand scheme of things, right? Well... yes and no. They may have now had the needed evidence, but as the group proceeded deeper into Luminas where the courthouse was lying... it was clear that there was a commotion among the residents of the holy city. Armed Champion and Ultimate levels of all shapes and sizes were seemingly scattered around the area, almost as if forming a protective blockade against even longtime residents from proceeding further. Was it really any surprise that a future-seeing Mega level might have at least prepared for something like this?Immediately before the group, a Shakkoumon was blocking the most direct route... it only observing the group with that same blank face it always had, silent and stalwart. Even remotely walking near it would cause the clay-doll to adjust its position ever so slightly to block the way. A few miscellaneous Digimon were huddled up somewhat nearby, each looking rather annoyed; a Gatomon, Auctiomon, and Hanumon respectively. The Hanumon was the first to speak up to you all with a rather disgruntled tone. "Don't even try talking to the thing. The higher-ups are going nuts about something today. Something about taking counter-measures or something? No one's even allowed to get to the middle of the city without proper identification! Shit sucks!"On the plus side, the path did seem to fork to the left and right... though the question was, what laid in each path? |

On one hand, Naoko was surprised this cat was smart enough to have the foresight to prepare for this possibility, but at the same time, she wasn't. Of course this would happen. "Well, we're not about to get anywhere by just talking to it..." Naoko trudged past the crowd. Though, she noted what the Hanumon said.
That, coupled with Titania (and presumably her friends) trailing behind her, led to what would be done next. "I've got some evidence to present. Evidence that this trial's a farce. Please step aside so we can...you know, get there in time? Before someone dies?"
....Was it bad that Naoko wanted to head right? Would this soulless clay entity allow that?

Indeed, seems that anyone except Bean had been expecting this to go smoothly from here on out. But, alas, Lisa was not a stupid villain. She'd made sure the courthouse was locked down, and the way was barred by a Shakkoumon. Well nuts.
Nao was already presenting the evidence, which was the best chance they had.
"Y-y-yes, we have evidence that Headmistress Lisa is about to accidentally commit a grave judicial mistake! We must get to the courthouse and prevent it from happening!"
Perhaps if she was to portray this as something they wanna do for Lisa's own wellbeing they could persuade the Shakkoumon?
As for Bean himself, he felt that now was an as good time as any to pull his authority. He floated towards the Shakkoumon.
"I am Bernard Galhardriel Gethsemane, third Ophanim in the Council of the Wheels. I demand that you let us pass."
He was well aware that Lisa would take countermeasures to him pulling the authority card, short of demoting him, which was the only thing she could not do. But perhaps he'd be lucky and the Shakkoumon had not heard of said countermeasures.

Initially, there was no response from the Shakkoumon in regards to any of the girls’ pleas towards the clay angel. The only thing it returned was that same cold, emotionless stare from those ancient eyes. Were it not for the lone MarineAngemon, they would have surely not moved… but the Mega’s words soon seemed to enable a response from the Shakkoumon as it seemed to come to life.
”Corpus beati Bernard sanctam. Processing orders from similar-ranked Ophanim.” the Ultimate level spoke in a droning voice that seemed to ring in the heads of those around. Their eyes seemed to gleam a pristine white before soon dulling as the clay figure tilted their head downward. ”Mane luminosum, sine cadunt. The Highest Circle has deemed your demands acceptable. Prior order from Lisa Vanitas Viviel has been overrode. The passage word is Perfruere.” the angelic figure spoke in that same mechanical voice before moving to allow the group passage.

The few seconds of silence following the demands and pleas of both the girls and Bean were probably among the most tense of Naoko's life. And that was already incredibly tense. Then, just...then, the Shakkoumon actually allowed them through with no further delay.
Yet the passage word seemed important for later, it was likely best to keep it in mind. Wasting no further time, Naoko took Yukiko by the hand and proceeded to the right, Titania (and hopefully everyone else) following along. "Are you -certain- this is the right path?" The fairy asked?
Well, Naoko didn't actually know if this was or not, but she had to trust her gut here, or else that cat was going to die.

Bean was stunned. He had not expected his pulling of rank to work. Certainly, Lisa would have blocked it. He did not trust this. This was too easy.
Regardless, he bowed to the Shakkoumon and bowed before hurrying on.
"We need to be careful. That was too easy. This is unlike Lisa. Chances are she will have something waiting for us once we reach the court house."
"Well, whatever it is, we'll crush it, and save your friend!"
Mizu seemed determined. She trusted Bean to keep them safe. Bean himself was more cautious. Lisa was a shrewd villain, if they could get past Shakkoumon so easily, it was done for a purpose. He did memorise the passphrase, but chances were, it was not the right one, either. Regardless, they had nowhere else to go, so they'd proceed with caution.

On one hand, simple cautiousness was well-warranted with the reputation Lisa had... As easy as it was to get the Shakkoumon out of the picture, the path was surely to have more obstacles; right?
Well, at a glance perhaps no... The alleyways of Luminas were while as decadent at the rest of the city, the shadows gave it a more somber and dangerous atmosphere... not helped by the lack of hustle and bustle that the rest of the holy city had. At the very least there didn't appear to be any guards stalking about the area... but was that really the case?
A sense of dread seemed to fill the air, a fog rolling into the area as the alleyways seemed to just lead into more and more alleyways. The increasing feeling that something very wrong was going on as the group seemed to find themselves practically where they started, albeit devoid of life... The sky itself seemed darker as well, it starting to already hit sunset as the shadows seemed to grow. Strange... wasn't it supposed to be the afternoon?
A quick eye would be needed to spot something peculiar... what appeared to be an eye growing from Naoko's shadow directly behind her... before suddenly the girl feeling her body being dragged into the ground rapidly! If nothing was done, she'd be pulled directly into her own shadow!

"So, essentially, you're saying there's but a trap in store for us somewhere?" Titania questioned as the group continued onwards. The alleyways of Luminas were rife with a more somber ambience than the rest of the city, but...At least they seemed quiet?
Yet it felt...dreadful. Naoko picked up on this quick. It felt like something was watching her. Something that was messing with...a lot of things. The girl then felt her body stop dead in it's tracks as something began to drag her down. "H-Hey!" She yelped, trying to wrench herself free and falling forward, desperately trying to grasp at the ground and not be pulled away.
Quick as Titania was, she failed to notice the eye in time. All she could do was spring forward to Naoko's aid in an attempt to wrench her free from the shadow! But what of their friends?

The MarineAngemon frowned as the many streets just seemed to loop continuously.
"Yes, I am quite certain there is a trap laid out for us, be vigilant!"
And then, the fog came in. Yukiko and Mizu began to shiver.
"Oof...fog, now? It was so warm before..."
Before Yuki could say a thing, Naoko was pulled down!
"Ah, Naoko! Watch out!"
She quickly jumped and grabbed the girl's arms, trying to pull her back up. Mizu, too, waddled over and bit onto Titania's clothes, to help her pull.
Neither of them noticed the eye...but Bean did. He frowned at it.
"Oh, Lisa, you utter hypocrite..."
The heart on his chest glowed, and a heart made from pink light emerged, flying towards the eye.
"Ocean of Love!"

As quick as it happened, a proper response from the gang was able to keep the shadows from engulfing Naoko… the pulse of pure, tender kindness from Bean causing the shadows to shriek demonic obscenities in a tongue foreign to everyone else, the attack causing it to let go of Naoko as it retreated away as a inky black pool that flowed away.
Bean was astute… this WAS a trap; an ambush to remove Lisa’s remaining obstacles for justice… HER justice. Several shadows from all around grew near as they converged with the prior one that nearly swallowed Naoko, it rapidly rushing at Bean… the giant, demonic head of a Devitamamon lunging out trying to snap at Bean.
Not that the girls were safe either… the remaining shadows formed into ethereal shades covered in crimson red eyes that surrounded the girls, they extending out a series of shadow-y spikes to try and skewer them all.
Nothing was being left to chance.
Devitamamon and a horde of Shademon have appeared! Devitamamon is attacking bean with Punishment Fang, the Shademon assailing the others with Hate Spike.
Devitamamon
[PASSIVE] Vaccine Buster - Devitamamon is a Data-attribute that is an absolute monster for deleting Vaccine Digimon… an inveritable angel killer! Devitamamon deals 50% more damage to Vaccine-type Digimon.
Punishment Fang
Devitamamon lunges its head outward an unnatural length, attempting to crunch the foe with its many fangs. Deals catastrophic damage against healthy targets, but it weakens significantly otherwise. (Cooldown: 2 Turns)
Shademon
Hate Spike
Shademon extends out its body into sharp, spear-like appendages as it attempts to skewer its foe. Somewhat weak, but comes out VERY fast.
