The sound of leaves dancing in the winds could be heard from above the two tamers and their partners. It was already night time but the sky was almost all covered by the tree branches and their green leaves. They could maybe see one or two stars but that was about it. Calliope made a bracer from Desmond's bad ankle to keep it steady and while it wasn't perfect, it was actually way better than no support at all. With that, both of them managed to find some wild mushrooms that were actually pretty big, to be honest. The blond tamer had absolutely no idea what was edible or not. He did not trust his partner on that topic, the Digimon pretty eats or burns everything that goes into his mouth. Luckily, Sandmon seemed to be more knowledgeable about it so he felt way better about going to eat things from the ground. Speaking of things from the ground, they found a big hunk of meat and bone slightly covered in the dirt next to a tree. Desmond was very confused upon digging that out. Did someone put it in there for later? The meat didn't look rotten, if anything, it looked quite fresh and had a good smell so he took it and continued scavenging for food and other stuff.
Desmond was no guru at outdoor survival, he never slept outside in his whole life prior to getting into the Digital World and even then, he wasn't sleeping a lot. What he did know is that you should always cook your food if you can. In their case, they were lucky to have a living fireball with them. Both tamers managed to find a small clearance to set camp and roast some mushrooms and also that hunk of meat. However, the Frenchman was afraid that the smell of food might attract some unwanted Digimon. But then, the trees didn't really let big Digimon like the Allomon move around them. Desmond sat on the ground and his partner sat right in front of him. The Digimon would begin tracing small circles into the ground that didn't mean anything. It was just him playing with the dirt as Desmond and Calliope and Sandmon took a comfortable position to sit. Having taken a few thin long branches to roast the mushrooms, the blond tamer gave DemiMeramon one piece of the food they found so that he would be the first one to have a bite. It wasn't much but it entertained him and made him happy. He was still drawing circles into the dirt while the trio used him as a campfire.
"So erm, first night under this sky?" Desmond asked knowing the answer while looking at Calliope. He didn't know how to start a conversation properly so he thought that this question could break the ice. "I mean, you just landed, literally, in here a few hours ago so I guess it must be your first night, right?" It was very easy to see that this man was not good with words. He blushed from embarrassment hoping that maybe she wouldn't have noticed due to the dim light. After making a fool of himself, Desmond stabbed the pointy stick into a mushroom and hovered it above his partner. After a moment of silence, Desmond looked at his bandaged ankle. "Thanks, by the way." He would say softly while smiling and turning his head toward the girl he had a crush on. He would keep eye contact for a moment, maybe one a bit too long though.
"So..." The Frenchman would look at the wild mushroom as it roasted slowly before looking at the little Digimon that wasn't his. "How come you can talk now? I mean, you were tiny back then and could only say." And before he could end his sentence, the DemiMeramon shouted something. "Mu!" Desmond sighed and repeated after him. "Erm, yeah, mu." This made the Digimon shout again. "Mu! Mu!" And he was back to moving dirt with his hands with a bright smile on his face. "Also, can you tell us more about..." And he took out his Digivice. "That thing?" He wasn't even sure what it was called. All he knew that it did something during that battle with the Allomon. But what exactly? He had no clue.
"Mu!" This time, Desmond sighed heavily before poking the DemiMeramon with the stick. "I don't think she likes when you do that, so no more mu, ok?" The Digimon spinned around to face his tamer and softly whsiper. "Mu."
