Exploring the Elysium [Mae/Johann/Invite]

Life for Owen had been brilliant since he had received that call to the Village of Beginnings. He had arrived as quickly as he could, and there, lo and behold, was a little Dorimon that claimed that he was his son. The Elecmon that had called him out there said that the little guy seemed to be pretty certain of it, and even correctly said his name before they were introduced. So, that was day one where Owen realized he now had three sons.
Day two was full of celebrations as they headed back to Terminus city to meet Dorimon's other parent, Hikaru, and his brothers, Logan and Haku. Probably from all the delight and food that was provided, Dorimon evolved that night to his rookie form - a furred Gumdramon.
Day three was when Owen was asked to think of a name for him. He didn't know why he settled on 'Bezil', but he felt that name was significant somehow. Back to his past in the 7/71st Recon perhaps? Or another digimon of the old Digital World Republic? Well, either way, that was his name now.
And a week after that, Owen delighted in travelling around the digital world with his new son. Owen would evolve to MachGaogamon and fly using his jetpack to all the major places. Snowflake, Rustport, Whitewater, Rosewood. But Bezil wasn't satisfied with only just those.
"Dad, can we go somewhere more exciting?" he asked eagerly, his big yellow eyes shining with excitement. "Come on, towns are just towns, I wanna go on an adventure with you!"
Well then, that was certainly something that Owen couldn't refuse. But where? He pondered the Spears of Megiddo - the volcanic isle to the west. Or perhaps even exploring the Backup Bayou further? But... a third location shot to his mind. A mysterious sunken ruin off the southern coast. Well, he had diving gear for the both of them, and it was said to hold many curiosities and secrets. So, in the end, that was their destination.
"Alright there, son?" Owen asked Bezil as the MachGaogamon flew south across the sea, homing in on the Elysium's location. He was carrying Bezil in his mechanical hands carefully.
"Yep! All fine here!" Bezil answered, being firmly held in place, shielded from wind by his father's grip. With that confirmed, Owen reduced the power of his jets, lowering in altitude. He could see the ruins below. They seemed to sprout from the sea like reeds on the bank of a pond from this height, but as he came in lower, they grew immensely in size.
Finally, he came in for a landing, aiming for the roof of some strange ancient building, only its top floors rising above the surface. Neither of them were sure how far it went down. They could also see that the buildings were by now linked to each other by a series of makeshift pontoons and bridges, and could even see other digimon going about their business. It seemed the rumours were true, the surface of this strange city was being settled by other digimon. After all, why wouldn't they?
Owen then realized all at once how exhausted he was in flying out here. Now that he had the chance to catch his breath, he released his remaining energy and de-digivolved back to his rookie form as Gaomon. He still wore his khaki tunic, red bandana and boxing gloves as usual, while Bezil simply wore his red vest. Still, Owen was a foot and a half taller than his son, standing 4'7" to Bezil's 3'1". But there were enough shared features to show off their similarities - their fur and their yellow eyes for two.
"Well then, let's take a look around then, eh, Bezil?" Owen asked. Bezil gave a grinning nod in response, and the two headed toward where there was activity to ask more about these ruins.

The Sunken Elysium was another place Mae had not been to yet, admittedly. Yet...Her travels did take her to the area. There was no harm in exploring for a bit. She even had some bits to buy a kit from a nice person! That...didn't seem to want her dead. Or care that she was a Keramon wearing a funky mask.
That was pleasant. She could even swim around rather effectively too, in Keramon form. And thus? The transient rookie set out to sea on her lonesome, soon coming upon the sunken ruins that she had heard word about. There were...people here. Digimon. All going about their business. "Wow..." She had lost her cloak and mask unknowingly during her swim here, so for all intents and purposes, this was a Keramon just staring out at the populace after making her way up into one of the buildings and wandering around.
That had to look creepy.

"Sometimes it's nice to get out of that small dorm once in a while, isn't it, Dokamon?" A young teen with an English accent asked his blue robotic Digimon partner as the two rode a ferry down to the Sunken Elysium ruins.
"Indeed it is. Those 'dorms' are not suitable for two individuals. Besides, we're going to the Sunken Elysium, correct? I've always wanted to visit that area."
"What did you do before you showed up in my room anyways, Dokamon?"
"I was a resident of Terminus City. The industrial look of the area was beginning to become stale for me at the time."
A few moments later, the ferry ported at the Elysium ruins, letting Johan and Dokamon casually hop off. It was inside one of the ruined buildings that they noticed that there were others here as well. Johan took out his Digivice and began to scan each of them, just to see what species each one was.
"One might think it's rude to be scanned without permission."
"Oh, they won't mind. It's not a crime to learn, is it? Let's see... Gaomon, cute doggy... Gumdramon, cool dragon... and, WHOA!" Johan let out a little bit of a yelp as he noticed a Keramon walking around. "That one is super creepy."
"Manners," Dokamon scolded the teen as he lightly punched his leg... or at least tried to be gentle.
"If I need a prosthetic LEG because of you, you're paying for it... hey, I'd be able to tell someone that something literally cost me an arm and a leg... no, not worth it."
After that, Johan and Dokamon began to explore around, before encountering that same Gaomon and Gumdramon duo again. "Oh, hi there! Never saw Digimon like you two yet," Johan happily greets them as he pets Owen's head.

Owen and Bezil were impressed with the setting. Even though they were far out to sea with no dry land in sight, it seemed that the appearance of these ruins had drawn much attention in the digital world community. The smell of salt and fish was heavy in the air, a fresh cool breeze blew through their fur in the hot tropical sun. And all the while, they walked on solid stone and wood, fixed down deep to the depths below.
But this was only the surface. As they crossed a bridge to another part of the settlement, Bezil peered over the edge, and gave a slow 'whooa' as he saw many more aquatic digimon swimming in the crystal clear sea below, seemingly flying to their destinations in the sunken ruins. It was a little hard to believe, that all these digimon could breathe underwater without assistance like they needed. A lesson both of them knew well, from when the only thing that had prevented Owen drowning in the Bayou was his diving gear, while Bezil quickly figured out from the beach of Whitewater that having a heavy hammer on his tail made him a rather poor swimmer. But they were still alive and kicking to know better now.
"Do you think we could put on our diving gear and take a look at the city below, dad?" Bezil asked his father eagerly, the Gumdramon sharing the Gaomon's broad Aussie accent.
"Yeah, we'll do that later" Owen answered with a grin. For the moment though he'd prefer to stick to the surface so he could get a good idea of what awaited them here in this unique civilization. And he'd rather do it with his feet on dry ground and his mouth speaking in the air.
"Okay. But cripes, I haven't seen so many aquatic digimon in one place before, not even in Whitewater" Bezil remarked as they crossed the bridge and ended up on the roof of what seemed to be the central building of the ruins. "Fish digimon..." he nodded toward some Swimmon floating through the air nearby. "Seal digimon..." there were a few Gomamon in conversation in the other direction. "And even squid digimon" he pointed to a Keramon. "Hm... do you think she plays the clarinet, dad?" he asked. Owen snickered.
"Best not apply TV to real life, son" Owen advised. And before long, he noticed something he wasn't expecting. A human. And at his side was a digimon that looked like something of a cross between Owen, Bezil and mechanics. The digimon was blue and white, but had a spiky dragon-like face, and also seemed to have mechanical fists. He was a digimon neither of them had seen before. Both of them were fascinated. So much so that the human approached and petted Owen's head without him saying a word.
"Ah, gosh, hi there" Owen said, his tail wagging a little as his head was pet. Even if it was a little odd for strangers to do this, he still rather liked it when humans did that. It was something about their warm nimble fingers that just felt so right, especially if they hit that sweet spot behind his ears.
Bezil was a little more confused, but still, it was a warm day so that seemed ideal for a warm greeting. "G'day there!" he said, giving a little wave. "I s'pose you're visitors to this place too, yeah?" he asked. "I'm Bezil and this is my dad Owen!"

The sights were a lot for a single Keramon to take in. Unfortunately, the sightseeing and the...peopleseeing were interrupted by her being scanned and called creepy. The Keramon turned around, and stared at Johan and Dokamon incredulously. "...It's not very nice to call strangers creepy..." She muttered. What was that about losing an arm and a leg? That sounded unpleasant. The Keramon promptly turned her gaze to Owen and Bezil.
"...What's a clarinet?" Was that some sort of game? Food? What? At least the Gaomon said hi. "Hi. I'm Mae!" Now, here's the real brain kicker for the Keramon. How does a dog...father a dragon? Mae started to tap her chin in thought. "...OH!" YEAH SHE GOT ASKED SOMETHING. "Yep! I'm visiting. Heard some good things about this place and I wished to witness it's ruined glory for myself."

"I do not recommend going up and touching complete strangers," Dokamon scolded Johan as the human petted the Gaomon with his right, ungloved hand.
"Come on Dokamon, he doesn't seem to mind, see?" Johan said to the robotic-looking Digimon as he continued petting the blue doggy Digimon. "Plus, look at how adorable he is!"
"I do not see it. No offense, 'Owen.'" However, that's when Dokamon properly took note that the Gumdramon was a kid. He tensed up; he always seemed to have bad luck around kids. Either he would hurt them by accident, or they would end up being stupid and hurt Dokamon instead. Either way, Dokamon kept his distance from Bezil.

Ah, so the Keramon's name was Mae. "Nice to meet you" Owen said pleasantly. He noted she was confused like most other digimon were when they were told that he was the dad to one of his kids. Hm, maybe he should keep that information to himself in future? Eh, too late to worry about it now. "Yeah, that's the same reason we're here" Bezil added. "Dad's got our diving gear so we'll take a look after we get a better idea of the place".That Johan was petting Owen and called him cute confused Bezil. "Heey, why does he think you're cuter than me?" he asked, not angrily, just confused. "Guess that's how it is, mate" Owen shrugged. Humans tended to take a liking to him rather quickly so by now he was used to it. He was told it was because of his resemblance to animals they had on Earth called 'dogs', whatever they were. But, if it meant humans liked him then he had no problem with that. Bezil noted that Dokamon kept his distance. "Hiya! Are you here to look at the ruins too?" the Gumdramon asked him. As he did so, another digimon approached. Owen and Bezil turned to see a turtle digimon approaching, one with green skin and a blue hat. A Kamemon. "Ah, hello, excuse me for interrupting..." he said. "But, you there, Gaomon, what's that symbol on your jacket?""Hm? This?" Owen asked, plucking at his tunic. There were some badges on it that were from his old unit, the 7/71st. There was the sword-and-wheel of that battalion on each shoulder, and there was the eight-pointed silver star of the old D.W.R. on his right breast pocket. "Which one are you talking about?""That one" Kamemon pointed to the star. Owen looked down and then back up again. "That's the star of the DWR" Owen explained. "I was... a part of it, a while ago. Do you know of it?" "Nope, can't say that I do" Kamemon said, shaking his head. "I'm just pointing it out because there's a ruin with that exact same symbol on it that we found in the ruins the other week. If you like I could show you".Owen and Bezil's curiosity were both piqued by this. If it was something to do with the old DWR, that was definitely something they were interested in. "Sure, we can go down and take a look" Owen answered. "Alright then, please follow me" Kamemon said, them promptly dived into the water. Bezil did too, only realizing a moment later that it was a mistake to do so. "Bezil! Wait! The diving gear!" Owen yelped, but Bezil disappeared with a splash, only to resurface a few moments later splashing around and yelping for help. Owen sighed and jumped in as well to rescue his silly son. Kamemon helped too and the three of them returned to the top of the building they had just jumped off.
"Sorry, dad, I got a bit too excited there" Bezil said apologetically.
"Sorry, I forget that not all digimon here can get by without diving gear" Kamemon apologized. He waited while Owen prepared his and Bezil's gear - consisting of goggles, breathing tubes and flippers. As it was more of a program than equipment, it effectively gave the digimon the ability to breathe and swim well underwater. There were also communicators next to their mouth and ears so they could talk down there too. "Eh, no harm done. Do you guys wanna come with us?" Owen asked Mae, Johan and Dokamon. If they were here to explore the ruins too, there might be something interesting to uncover.

"Ooooh...I've got diving gear too!" Confusion left Mae's face as quickly as it had come. The Keramon's stare that one might assume was vacant but was actually laden with curiosity turned to Owen and his badges. They held no familiarity to her. Nope. She watched Bezil jump in with no gear. She watched Owen jump in after him.
Children were strange. As the three returned up? Mae found herself speaking in a manner she thought was...different for how she usually talked. "This is where a mistake was made, but it's also the place where someone learned things." Huh, wonder where that came from. Mae slung her diving gear on when the offer to join was extended. "Well...It's exploring! And I wanna explore stuff. I don't think there's anything to run from so it'll be nice!"

Johan noticed that Bezil was angry and confused about him thinking that Owen was cuter than Bezil, which he didn't think at all. To show this, Johan switched over to petting Bezil. "Don't worry, friend, I think you're pretty cute as well."
"Again, I do not think it is a good idea to pet random strangers, Johan."
"And I think you need to lighten up for once, Dokamon. Besides, they're nice, see?"
Dokamon did not see as he tensed up when Bezil walked right up to him, asking if they were there to see the ruins as well. Sweatdropping, Dokamon would look away and casually step away from the kid Gumdramon.
"Ignore him, he's a Downer-mon," Johan says, pulling his left hand glove a bit tighter. "But yeah, we're here to see the ruins. I assume you're here to see them too, right?" He turned to the Keramon as he asked that question.
Suddenly, a Kamemon came up and mentioned that there were some ruins underwater as a part of the DWR, whatever that was. He offered to take the group to it. Owen asked if they wanted to come as well, which Johan agreed to, much to Dokamon's dismay.
"Yeah, we just got some sweet diving gear! Come on Doka, let's go!"
"Do we have to?" Dokamon just REALLY did not want to be around this kid. However, Johan was persistent so Dokamon eventually gave in. And so the two put on their diving gear, with masks that look like the New Goblin's mask in Spider-Man 3. They were ready to go.

Bezil was not in fact angry, just confused. It wasn't his style to be jealous of others. But he reacted pretty well to being told he was cute too. His tail wagged a little as he was pet, causing a nearby Penmon to swerve out of its way. "Hey! Watch where you're aiming that thing!" she complained, but went on her way without further comment. Despite the fact that Mae seemed to be a stranger to all this, she still seemed to be interested in exploring the ruins under the waves, so that was fine with Owen for now. Even after the mishap with Bezil getting overexcited, he didn't mind the prospect of the Keramon following them. It seemed something about Bezil made Dokamon nervous, namely that he didn't seem to want to be near him as he approached. Well, Owen supposed that was understandable, given how quickly Bezil ended up in the drink without preparation. But it seemed that was all sorted out fairly quickly. Once Owen and Bezil fixed their diving gear on, and it seemed Johann and Dokamon too, they assumed Mae did as well. Once all was prepared, Owen and Bezil dived into the sea after Kamemon, swimming down to the ruins he had told them about. "Here we are... but we haven't been able to open the ruins yet" Kamemon explained. "I was hoping that you might be able to figure something out here...""Well, that would've been nice to say up first..." Owen responded through the communicator, but nonetheless explored what he could about the ruin. Indeed it had the same eight-pointed star that was present on his tunic, but, how to activate it? He wasn't sure. That was at least until he pressed it with his paw, after which, over a flat panel of rock, an illusion of an eight-pointed star appeared, then a sequence of each point flashed white with an accompanying musical tone. Owen recognized the tone at once, remembering it as an old DWR marching hymn. He keyed in the remaining notes as he remembered them, and the rock wall ahead of them lowered, allowing them access into the buried ruin. As Owen wondered if this would be a waterlogged cavern, he was corrected by the water draining in the chamber. Ah, so this was some kind of old airlock? Once the water had cleared, the door ahead opened. Owen and Bezil let their breathing masks loose for the moment as they proceeded forward, wondering what would be ahead.
And there they found themselves in a kind of vast underwater chamber, freshly activated after a period of inactivity. What laid ahead was uncertain.

It did sort of strike Mae as odd that she was the one thing not being referred to as cute. Then again? She sort of understood it. Staring into bodies of water did bring forth the lesson that Keramon were, in fact, creepy. Opting not to waste time, Mae decided to sling on her diving gear once again, and gave a thumbs up once she was done.
...With a real long and skeletal-ish finger. As everyone dived in, she waited a few moments before she too leapt into the water and followed the group out to the ruins. There was something about swimming that sort of calmed her nerves.
So...The ruins were discovered but sealed? That's dumb. Real heckin' dumb. The Keramon watched the door open and followed the group into the cavern, before the water drained! When she took her mask off, she exclaimed, "WOAH! That was really cool!"
...It was kind of obvious that the Keramon had never seen something like this before. Because she remained silent aside from that little outburst above.
Her first move was to take a look around the chamber. What was present?

Johan was surprised when Bezil's tail almost completely took out a Penmon when he began to bet the Gumdramon. In response to this, Johan would immediately stop petting him. "You better get that tail of yours under control."
When they were underwater, Johan could not believe how pretty the sea looked. It was all blue, of course, but there were loads of aquatic Digimon swimming about! Johan just wanted to see them all-
Nope, too late, Dokamon dragged Johan by the arm and followed the others to these ruins. The Kamemon claimed that these ruins hadn't been opened yet, which caused Johan and Dokamon to sweatdrop a little.
"Well, we should attempt to open them, then," Dokamon says, charging up energy in his right fist. "Dokkan-" He would begin to call before Owen already figured out how to open it. Seeing the doors open caused Dokamon to become flustered and do a couple flips underwater due to surprise, causing Johan to laugh.
"That was the second funniest thing I've ever seen you do, right after-"
"Don't. Say it."
Johan and Dokamon would then swim into the opening of these ruins, taking their breathing masks off. Well, Dokamon kept his on for unexplained reasons...
In reality, it just made him feel cool.

Bezil gave a nervous chuckle, hoping his tail wouldn't come to harm others so much.
After they had opened the entrance to the excavation site, Owen would take a quick look around for any further threats that might await them. Other than the fact that the waterproof integrity of these ruins were probably low, he didn't see anything in the vicinity that would cause any further danger.
"Best everyone keeps their diving gear on, just in case the place floods again" the Gaomon advised. He took two steps forward, which was incredibly awkward with flippers. "Well... maybe take them off if you feel like it" he added, doing so, attaching the flippers to his belt. Bezil did the same. After all, in the event of a flood, breathing was first priority. Reattaching flippers could come later.
Here in the recently drained chamber, there was plenty of things of interest. Owen immediately noticed an old computer terminal, thankfully waterproof and provided with reserve power that still kept it active after all this time.
Bezil meanwhile noted a large gateway ahead. It was sealed with a digizoid alloy, but, the Gumdramon had the feeling that there was something significant behind it.
Other places of interest within the excavation site was a workers' common area, where it seemed that digimon would rest and take their leave there. If one looked close enough they would find the personal artifacts of other digimon of the old DWR.
Another place of interest was an old cargo collecting area, where artifacts from the excavation site were prepared for transport to the surface. While no more transport vehicles were present, there were traces of their manifest records and the like. Owen was impressed by the history of this place, but still, he could tell there was an untold mystery here that involved the digimon he once was, so, he was curious about solving it. Hopefully without bringing harm to anyone else here though.

Well, as Mae proceeded further into the ruin, she found herself in the chamber. What the fuck is this shit? Gateway. Terminal. Resty...looking place.
The Keramon wasn't sure where to check first, but...Maybe that terminal would be a good place to start. The Keramon slunk her way over towards it. It was a very...foreign object for her. What exactly was she to do with this thing? "Wonder what this thing does..." The Keramon tapped her chin before she tapped a single key, the enter key.
She tapped it twice.
If this didn't end up starting a catastrophic chain reaction with terminal commands, it would probably be a miracle.

"I think I'll keep mine on for at least a little while," Johan says. "No point in taking it off when we might be going back to swimming at some point, right?"
Johan began to observe the area that the group had reached. There was a great big and rusty terminal, probably powered by very ancient technology. Johan was skilled in tech, but he didn't want to risk pushing a wrong button and exploding the place or something-
"What are you doing?!" Johan suddenly heard Dokamon yell. Johan turned around to see the little Keramon pushing a single button. Immediately Johan ran to her in complete panic.
"Ack! What did you do?!!" Johan asked as he observed the screen of the terminal. Maybe if he figured out what was happening, then he could possibly use his computer skills to the test to stop it.
"...I think the child just pressed a single key," Dokamon comments. "I doubt it's harmful in any way."
