"Whoa, really?!" K was that fast? Syre's eyes brightened at her mother's explanation! "That's... that's amazing! Dad certainly can't zip around that easily, unless he's using a portal or something! I mean, he did mention that you were at a higher level at some point, but... still!"
Well, she didn't seem too easy to impress! Giving a slightly boasting smirk herself, Syre followed her mother, catching up with a slight skip to her step. It was interesting that K had started to learn their language, though Syre simply let that one pass without comment, giving a nod to her response. More interesting, of course, was that of the humans' reaction to them.
Not every human 'likes' Digimon? "I thought it was more that the humans didn't know what Digimon were... I, um, don't want to think its that depressing, mom." Her ears fell a little flat, at that. It sounded wrong, and she hoped it was wrong! "And of course! Amelie is practically my aunt, and the rest are just great and fun to have around! The Club's been a blast so far... heh."
Syre stopped herself from gushing, just barely 'catching' herself right there. Oh, dear...
"I... I wish you could have been there for it. N-no offense."

"Mhm! I'm not sure exactly the gap between us in that regard but it matters little. It's not like I'd ever want to fight with him you know?"
The renamon sighed and flicked her ears realizing that she had erred. Making a somewhat sour face at herself before turning to give the other a small somewhat apologetic smile she'd deign to explain just a little.
"Well yes! Many humans don't know about us. But the ones that do and don't have the same opportunities as the ones that come here wouldn't like us very much or have had bad experiences with digimon. But thankfully we have time to try to sort stuff out; some just don't know what to do with us you know? Try to think about it from the perspective of where most animals don't talk and have basically been serving them for thousands of years. Now you have a walking, talking version of the same creature. So there's this difference they don't really know what to do with. Jeez I should of been a little more specific because it's not that depressing."
The renamon let out an exasperated sound; feeling as though she should of just explained it out further in the first place. K paused and leaned down to give her daughter a small hug. Trying at the very least to cheer her up.
"Amelie? As your Aunt? Hmm.. that. That I like. I haven't seen her in so long; is she doing well? Well hopefully they can keep up with you huh?"
The renamon grinned a little bit and gently tapped the nose of her daughter only to pause at the last thing she said. Her face fell for a moment and the renamon grew quiet looking down in a mix of shame... and sadness.
"....Me too..."

"Honestly, its still a bit... unsettling to see the 'human' versions of our animal types, mom." And it was hard for Syre to put herself in that sort of shoe, but she could at least understand the general idea of what K was talking about. It was certainly true, if you weren't from this world, the idea of, well, literal monsters walking around and openly talking, despite their power, might be a bit off-putting on its own!
Shuddering just a bit at that thought, Syre knelt down, taking a closer look at that flower that K had managed to heal just a few moments earlier, returning a warm smile as K's arms wrapped around her side. "Mhm... she's doing fine! We keep in touch with Tamernet now, and I still see her about once or twice a week. Though she said she wanted to do her 'own thing' outside of the Field Club. Heck, I've helped her out with a journalist job." A journalist job that got the cat grounded, no less!
But she kept that under wraps... especially with the way the conversation quickly headed. Hearing that somber tone in K's voice, the cat slowly turned, wrapping her own hands around K's arm in a hug. "S-sorry. Not really fair for me to make you feel like that - not after everything you've had to do. I... I have you now, and that's what's important!" She gave a wide smile, a pleasant expression beaming on her face as she tried to cheer her mom right back up!
"And its not just Amelie. Carlos has helped out a lot, and Dio, Tawna, and Haru are fun to be around too! Titania can be a bit rough, and some stick a bit closer to themselves, but... well, its like a big family?" Was that the best way to put it? "So, how do you know auntie?"

"I saw a few pictures of what my counterpart looks like; I thought it was kind of cute?"
The renamon rubbed the back of her head seeming somewhat out of sorts. She might of been disturbed at the time but thinking about it further made her realize that she had seen far worse things that would of done far worse to her. A lot of people asked her at the time as she was walking around how much her suit cost when she wasn't aware of holosuits... Playing along ended up being somewhat strange but at the end she had made a few friends.
The flower in question that the renamon had healed ended up having the same color as the renamon's energy while the rest of it looked vibrant and incredibly healthy. Just how much did she put into healing that simple thing? Or did she not notice?
"That's good to hear! I'm glad that she is doing well, and it's good that you get to see her so often. I suppose I can't blame her for wanting to do other things; but I hope she does manage to keep herself out of trouble..."
The renamon sighed a little bit and gave her daughter a firm squeeze in the hug. Letting out a small but somewhat exasperated sound. She'd set her head ontop of her daughters and mull about it for a moment.
"Still. I don't think I could forgive myself for missing that; My mother was there for me, I should of been there for you. But.. I suppose you're right. Maybe I shouldn't dwell on it?"
The renamon let out a loose chuckle at hearing that it hadn't just been Amelie. Carlos, Dio, Tawna, Haru and Titania? Well she hadn't met the last one but if they had taken care of her daughter she had to thank them at some point. It made her a touch warm to hear syre call them like a big family. The renamon took a moment and put a hand to her muzzle giving it a thoughtful rub.
"Our first meeting was in the Digital world on a job, we didn't really talk. Second time was taking down a spire; though we didn't talk too much then either. Then when I was in the human world I met her a third time, she showed me around; fed me and even offered to let me stay there for a short time though I ended up staying elsewhere as I didn't want to impose. So you could say we're friends? I've seen her only a handful of times and the last time was in whitewater; I might have to do so again if she's not terribly busy."
The renamon leaned a little bit and felt her body shift as the cloak tried to keep her from putting too much weight on her legs.
"I'm glad you had so many people to help take care of you and interact with you. I bet you were really busy too huh?"

Well, maybe they were 'cute', but that didn't mean that Syre had any inkling to go near a real world cat - or, rather, it wasn't on the top of her list to do. Rather, she just gave that a smile and let the topic simply slip by, her focus rather drawn on that flower. What was wilting before now looked even better than the ones around them - though the cat couldn't help but chuckle. "You and dad both have healing hands, and yet that seems to be the one thing I didn't pick up at all. Mine, um..." She stood up, giving a small flick of her tail, glancing at that ring. "... Blocks healing, actually."
Of course, she wasn't about to show that off, but it was something that struck her as just a touch odd. As for Amelie? "Well, she's still Amy... she 'goes where she's needed', and honestly, I think she pushes herself a bit too far, sometimes. She was both up in the mountains and out in the desert, so..." Yeah, always a way to make the cat worry. To the next part, she just gave a chuckle, nuzzling into that hand! "Well, I forgive you, so don't worry too much about it!"
With that, it was story time - and, as Syre could have expected, K had met with Amelie a couple of times in dangerous spots, before just running across her in the human world. A lot of happy coincidences, though it sounded like the two hadn't known each-other that well? "Well... acquaintances, at least. Doesn't sound like you two would just call each-other out of the blue?" That was probably true!
"And... well, busy enough. I always had someone to talk to or something to do - and dad made me practice stuff a lot. Even been on a couple of jobs - easy ones as I was just a rookie until a week or two ago, but at least its something?" She gave a grin! "But I hear you've done quite a few impressive things, yourself!"

K scratched at her muzzle and gave the cat a small somewhat exasperated looking smile as her Daughter explained out how she didn't pick up the healing abilities that their parents had. Mulling that over she'd lean to look at the ring blinking a few times.
"That's somewhat unsurprising to hear; I'd imagine that it'll be useful when you need to do that for one reason or another. Like when someone shouldn't be healing because it'll just end up hurting them more or something along those lines."
The renamon gave a small shrug; there were only a few instances of that being the case across the board as far as she was aware. Would that sort of thing stop the D-reaper from healing during fights? It was something she could question but she would rather die than let Syre get anywhere close enough to find out.
The smile grew a little more relaxed and she'd give her daughter another firm but gentle hug. It kind of sounded like Amelie was in the same boat as she was; at least in theory. She imagined that the human had quite a bit to work with after all. Something about two lives and all that...
"I'll try not to~ Hopefully she doesn't push herself too hard. I know how it can be."
The renamon rubbed her muzzle a little bit as Syre seemed to think that the pair were more acquaintances rather than friends. The renamon considered this for a few moments and then nodded slowly.
"I'd imagine that she'd be okay with meeting up again if the opportunity presented itself. Still I have a strange amount of trust for someone I barely know."
The renamon chuckled gently and flicked an ear as syre explained out how she always had someone to talk to or something to do. She had even been on a couple of jobs as she was just rookie a week or so ago. She was right on one thing there; that it was something and it made the renamon's core twinge a little bit in worry. The idea of her daughter going on a dangerous adventure both made the renamon excited and worried. Then of course her daughter turned the conversation towards her mother again and the renamon gave a small somewhat embarrassed smile.
"I suppose I have? Some of the things I do I don't really realize the scope anymore. I'm not sure what I honestly could tell you; I've just.. done a lot. But I wouldn't mind sharing of course!"
The renamon gave syre a grin and leaned on her daughter giving her a gentle rub behind the ear flicking her own in curiosity.
"What sort of jobs did you do?"

"Hm... you think so?"
Honestly, it was rare to hear anyone speak of that ability in a positive light - and yet K didn't hesitate to try and spin it in a positive direction. She could use that ability to do more than hurt someone? Heck, she might help someone, in a medical sense? Maybe K was just being optimistic, but that was a hopeful thought, at least.
Not that she stayed on that thought for long! With K's hug, Syre gave a small chuckle, bringing her arms right around K's shoulders. "She knows to look out for herself... and, well, maybe. I mean, you both look after me, so maybe you'll be seeing a lot more of each-other, soon!" That thought settled rather nicely, actually - a nice happy family! She didn't think of how realistic it was, for the moment... but she did notice how K seemed to flinch upon her doing 'jobs'.
As 'new' as K was, she could already tell when she asked. Her mom was curious, and worried. "Well, I do help with Amelie on her journalism work... but, the mission guild's been helpful enough! Its mostly research groups with a bunch of other Digimon - good way to meet others and they generally go pretty smoothly!"
The cat gave a nod... but didn't hide everything. "Though, I have gotten in a few fights on those jobs... I wouldn't have my tail ring otherwise, ya'know?"

"Of course! I wouldn't of said so If I didn't~"
The renamon let out a soft chuckle and gave her Daughter a small but somewhat supportive smile. There were many applications that you could use that for as well as stopping someone else that you didn't want to heal from doing so; in combat or the like that could pretty much turn the tide of battle. Though it also depended on how powerful the ability was of course and how often she could use it. As some healing abilities were often more than not too hard to stop.
K mulled it over during the hug; her ears straightening as her daughter spoke again. She didn't doubt that Amelie knew how to take care of herself and that there was a chance they'd meet again but having this common connection with her daughter? Well that would be rather nice wouldn't it? There were tons of questions that the renamon wanted to ask them after all.
Then her daughter explained out what sort of jobs that she did; helping with journalism work along with some research groups... it was certainly a good way to meet digimon but it didn't sound like it had been all straight edged. The renamon tilted her head just a little bit as the cat gave a nod and explained that she had gotten into a few fights on them. Quirking a brow she'd lean to look at that tail ring.
"That is true. I'm not going to berate you for getting into a fight. It's part of our nature as digimon to get into them. That and I'm one to talk if I tried."
There were too many fights in her recent memory that weren't from the library that she could easily name. It was a little surprising just how much she got around in that aspect of things. The renamon gave a thoughtful hum and looked down at her daughter with a small smile.
"Did you like any of the jobs? What sort of things were the research groups trying to uncover? How did the fights go? You didn't get hurt did you?"

"Yeah... not that I like to fight or anything, but sometimes... you have to?" That sounded about right - and it was probably why Dr. Mikemon had gave somewhat of a focus for her learning how to use her tricks! But even at that small admission, well...
It didn't take long for K to be a mom about it! Though the Renamon rationalized it in her own head, she still wanted to know everything about it. What was she doing? Did she ever get hurt?! Those questions sank deep into Syre's ear, the BlackGatomon giving a small smile and a chuckle: "H-heh... you're going to be a little worried about it no matter what, aren't you?" And that was alright, but it still put the cat on a back foot! Pulling herself up on a park bench, the cat tried to mull over the best way to answer.
"And yeah... the jobs are either pretty fun, or pretty mundane. Some of it's charity work that they would hand out to any rookie. The research groups want to look at anything 'old' and really just want a few fight-capable Digimon to watch out for their backs - sometimes, we do need to step in and do something! As for the fights..."
Right, how to answer this without making her worry? "I mean, I do what I can. Being in a group, I try not to 'stand out' too much, though I go for openings when I can. And... its not perfect, of course." The cat tapped at a light burn mark on her right ankle, earned from a journalism excursion to the Dark Area. "I'm still learning... gonna be a while before dad lets me look into any of even the mid-level stuff..."

"I know how that feels Dear."
The renamon sighed softly and shook her head slowly. At the start she didn't like fighting but slowly and certainly did she find herself turning into a being that actually enjoyed it, relishing the challenge in the fights she had. Even going so far as to fight against someone claiming that she held a lofty height further than they did.... And finding that she was even stronger than expected.
"A little bit, can you blame me though?"
The renamon chuckled and took a seat next to her daughter on the bench. Flicking an ear as her daughter started to explain out things. She'd consider what her daughter said and tilted her head just a little bit leaning to gently rub their shoulder as they spoke.
"Makes sense, safety for the researchers and if something goes wrong they'll need help of course."
The renamon leaned to look at the burn mark on the right ankle, pausing for a few moments she'd lean further ears flicking curiously before she turned her head towards her daughter that brow raising slightly.
"Has he been teaching you how to fight? How to defend yourself? Or is it mostly just you learning from these... Jobs? You're doing a good job if you only got a burn like this but there's always room for improvements!"
The renamon gave her a grin and then leaned back looking thoughtful. She'd tinker with the idea in her head and then chuckle at the thought of teaching her daughter how to fight a little more.
"Perhaps I should have a word about it with your father. Maybe I can convince him to let me train you and together why don't we go and do a mid level job when he's more 'comfortable' with that?"

Of course 'mom' was going to be worried! Joining the Renamon with a chuckle, the two settled down right on the bench, with Syre gently leaning against the Renamon's side.
As K looked over that burn mark, Syre's eyes flicked away - but the cat, of course, didn't hide the damage. It didn't hurt too much anymore, not after Mikemon's treatment and the application of that blue medicine. Of course, K decided to press on just a bit more! "Yeah, dad's been teaching me how to fight, both using my techniques and a few more, um, practical things for someone of my size. Ever since I hit champion, dad's trying to get a good scale of my strength. Despite our size, we can, well, 'hit and lift' more than some would think!"
She gave a small laugh at that - before, she wouldn't think that she could 'throw a boulder', but that seemed at least more reasonable at the moment. However, as K brought up that last bit, Syre gave a nod! "Mm! I think I'd like that!" The cat beamed! "I mean, I could use more practice with knowing how to use my Saberk better, and my elements are closer to yours than dad's - really, the only thing I picked up from him was, well, being a 'cat'." She gave a small laugh at her dad's expense! "Do you practice a lot, then?"

Why wouldn't she be worried? It was her daughter and there was a plethora of things that the renamon could think of that would be well outside of her area of expertise that would make it far more dangerous than it needed to be.
The renamon didn't look terribly surprised to see that she was recovering a bit and she had to wonder why Mikemon didn't just use a healing ability to smooth it over? It took a few moments to figure that this was supposed to be a lesson more than anything but she was curious and would have to talk to him about that later as well.
"That's good that he has. Really now? Practical fighting styles or... Ah! That's good to know and it's not terribly surprising considering his stature. He'll be a good physical sort of teacher I imagine."
The renamon shared a laugh with her daughter and flicked her ears as her daughter seemed to like the idea of training with her. Grinning from ear to ear the renamon gave the top of Syre's head a pat.
"Well I can definitely teach you what I know; wouldn't be the first time I've helped someone out with using saberk or their elemental bits. Which elements do you have? I'd say that's something good that you've picked up from the both of us."
The renamon paused and considered that last question. Just how much did she practice? She couldn't really list the times that she had; just a lot of different areas that she had fights in. The meditation months... and a lot of fighting before that which was sprinkled with learning her abilities more than she had. With a small chuckle she'd rub her muzzle while giving her daughter a smile.
"Quite often actually; There was a period of two months where I dedicated myself to training my mind and finding my keys. Outside of that there's been a lot of little things and times that I trained physically or learned new things about myself."

Why didn't Mikemon use his healing ability on that spot? Well, if K asked, Syre might have answered - but the BlackGatomon simply didn't want to openly admit that it was caused by a D-Reaper burn. If the Renamon was going to allow that topic to pass, then Syre wasn't going to dwell on it, either!
"Heh! Its a bit weird - dad and Tawna are the only two around my size, and the Meicoomon can be, well, a bit aggressive in her sparring, I guess?" Was that the best word for it? Either way, she was glad to at least have someone around who could show her the ropes, and she was about to have a second person for that as well!
"What elements? Um..." She raised a glaw, a small bit of 'orange' glowing at the tip. "Fire..." Then, that orange ball gave a pop, revealing a chilly, blue one in its place. "Ice..." And the last, her ring gave a dark, red glint. "And dad calls this one 'blight', I think?" What was it supposed to be: dark, evil? Neither of those sounded quite right!
But it was something that they could figure out going forward. K was a well-practiced fighter, it seemed - even going so far as to meditate for two months to hone her... 'keys'? "Hm? I don't know anything about that, but I'm not sure if, well, sitting still for two months is something I'd be able to do too easily." She gave a nervous chuckle, at that suggestion. "But, what are these 'keys', then?"

K would of understood completely if she had deigned to continue on the topic but figuring it was just from the fight itself and wanting to teach a lesson she passed over it. The renamon rubbed her muzzle thoughtfully and flicked her ears getting a quick grin on her features however when her daughter spoke of how the meicoomon was in her sparring.
"She was always a fierce fighter, when we did our spars she was always so forward and so into it that it was hard not to reciprocate."
The renamon let out a smooth chuckle leaning slightly and mulling over things. How would she go about teaching her daughter how to do things if she was taller and built different than her? She could potentially teacher her how to fight against larger opponents and how to keep her cool in situations that others would balk in.
Her eyes locked on the paw as Syre explained out the two elements that she had. The orange ball getting a strange twinge deep in her gut but she was able to wave it off. The fact she had ice made her feel a little better about it; as the Renamon had quite a few of those techniques herself! The last ability type however got a small raise of the brow.
"Fire, Ice and blight huh? I'm very familiar with the first two. But the third one is goingg to take some experimenting on your part to understand it fully I feel. Does it feel right is the question?"
The renamon's ears flicked a little bit and blinked quietly as the other seemed to think that they wouldn't be able to sit still for two months. Scratching at her neck and shooting the other a smile she'd place her hands on her legs.
"It took a lot of effort to do so trust me, there were times I wondered if it was worth it. If pushing myself like that was what I should do.. but then as things came together..."
The renamon paused staring at her daughter at that final question. Her keys? What were they? She could list them every which way until the sun itself fell out of the sky into an eternity of darkness but that meant nothing without understanding and Knowing them.
"They keys of digivolution, a theory in itself of power that deeply resides in digimon. Three steps of doing so are Learning the keys, Understanding the keys and Knowing the keys. It's self reflection and pouring over every sense of your being to unlock further power. It's not something everyone has and I was lucky that I did else those two months would of been for naught. It... It's part of the reason why I was able to attain a form while super mega was also vastly different than it even if it was for a few moments back in whitewater."
The renamon looked down at her hands. She could still feel the encompassing warmth of that form in it's entirety. The forced evolution of her and her representative of her core had managed to do. She could feel silence in the back of her head still nodding quietly at her explanation but she wasn't sure if Syre would understand it.

"Mhm! Dad told me that I got my fire-and-ice stuff from you!"
Focused as she was, Syre had completely missed K's little grimace at the ball of fire, smiling as K asked about the third element. "And, um... I mean, the 'move' comes out naturally enough, but it feels a bit weird having to cast it from my tail..." Syre gave a look over at that dark, metallic ring hanging at the tip. "Because, well, I'd rather be facing my opponent head-on, rather than show my side, you know?"
Did that make sense? It made sense to her, but then again, Syre's mother was the type to sit around and meditate for such a long period of time! Her ears twitched as she spoke of the keys to Digivolution... and honestly, the daughter didn't understand them all that well. It wasn't something everyone had? "But the way you're putting it... I dunno, it sounds almost like a 'non-literal' thing? Like a state of mind rather than a 'piece of data' or a key'..." She seemed skeptical, at least, just trying to wrap her head around it.
Heck, she might as well ask: "Did dad ever use these keys, then?"
