The creature that Haru had dubbed Lucey giggled girlishly at Mikemon's brief moment of confusion, the way they flittered closer to the doctor showing that they held no fear to him. After all... why would one be afraid of one's own kind?
"Yes, but no. I am indeed Pride, but not the Pride you knew; nor am I the Pride of this era. A Lord without a Title... an accurate phrase would you say for deserters like us?" the larval-like Digimon cooed with a sound of amusement. "I never really took to the Demon Lord schtick personally... After all, how can one be the master of their own destiny if they are a slave to their own carnal desires? Its what separates us from puppet kings and queens." the small creature mused, though their expressionless eyes gleamed at the doctor... Greed as she referred to.
"I am just a visitor... Checking up on that seed you and the cat are caring for. Its curious to see how fate has turned for that girl... a remarkable young girl cut down in the prime of her life, their soul dragged from the clutches of death to be inserted into a cycle of life she does not naturally belong. Fascinating wouldn't you say?" Lucey spoke with a cheerful tone... a mental figment of a memory of the doctor's beckoned forward, one of the club and its entirety conversing with one another as if nothing were wrong. "It makes me wonder what drew you to these humans in the first place, Greed... but perhaps that isn't so surprising the more time flies? Maybe not the same reason as to why I've taken an interest in them... but certainly there is more to this than you would have initially given credit towards when you first contacted these humans."
As easily as the Lucemon had drew away the memory, she dismissed it... she soon staring at the doctor. "Hmm ~ They've been all blooming quite delightfully as of recently. Your little group has been making somewhat of a name for themselves out in the Digital World in a way... Discovering that shard of Digi-Entelechy down in the cold abyss, or fighting off that apostle of Jesmon... I've heard some of you caused a bit of a stir up in Luminas itself. Are you sure this is really a little science club, Greed?" they mused as they covered themself with their fluffy plumage from the twelve wings that adorned their body.

"Its less a title and more a fact. There can only be one demon lord of each calling at a time - when that passes, it moves to the next." Mikemon gave that explanation, but really, his tone seemed a bit short. He didn't take kindly to the thought of being called a traitor, a deserter.
It rang too close to home. Hearing her disdain for her title, the Mikemon simply let out a sigh, taking a moment to observe his own cloak. "Like it or not, it was once what the Digital World had set out for us. Perhaps that's why the Title often passes before the death of the holder..."
In any case, Lucey soon set out to business. She was just here to check up on that seed - that egg that was Haru. She spoke so casually about it, cheerful and happy, enough for Greed to slightly bare his fangs. "Fascinating? Interest? If those are the words you're using, I don't think there's a way I can explain it aptly to you, Pride."
His emotions were already being brushed - but that last bit caught his attention. Yes: between the mountains and the desert, the group had been through a lot. Lucey poked right at that, and drew that question directed right towards Greed. Just what were those humans? What was the Club? It was enough to bring the cat to a small loss for words...
... Before he shook his head.
"Of course its more than a club. Each and every one of them - and Amelie - are those that have devoted themselves to our crazy world." He gave a chuckle: "Their's is a world of technology and safety, where they strive to do whatever they can with their limited lives. What they've done here, though grand, is maybe what's expected of such driven ones. Whose to say that's not just the average of those chosen by the Digivice?"
He gave a grin: "I know it. There's been times where a Lord or a Knight has been challenged by a single 'upstart human' and their Digimon - and lost. What if they're not 'special' at all, in comparison?"

"Yet, we've denied our own core beings; that mantle passed on to new individuals. Not to say it erases who we are. That is something beyond either of us." Lucey countered the doctor's own words regarding the important or existence of their roles. Demon Lords were often not the primal incarnations of their respective sins, yet here were two whom practically spat in the face of destiny.
The Lucemon could read the doctor like a book... his own irritation towards her was made very prevalent, though the insectoid creature merely tilted their head as if confused by his dismissal of her words. "Well it IS fascinating in a way. That would-be Mother Red Plague had committed something that others would consider a grave sin. She has played god, and in a way had succeeded at it. Its just a matter whether or not it is the predator or the prey whom sprouts from the seed she had sowed." the demon lord giggled, unphased by the doctor's own irritation towards her... Little phased seemed to Phase this incarnation of pride, their interest seemingly picqued by the woman known as Cassandra. "She's an anomaly. The Red Plague tried to use her... but she overpowered it, not through magic or technology... but sheer human grit and determination. She is someone that has certainly caught my attention as well because of that ~"
The Lucemon Larva remained silent as the doctor spoke... Despite their seemingly smug nature, they surprisingly remained calm and appeared contemplative of the doctor's words describing the nature of this most peculiar species. The Mega level nodded as Mikemon finished, they pausing briefly before speaking once more. "Perhaps... Genuinely that is what makes me so fascinated by them. A Rookie could easily kill your average human, yet they hold such amazing wells of power within; something that cannot be quantified in data. Sure you have your fair share of duds who amount to nothing, but that you could say is the work of nature. The Digital World is a world that is based on the principles of survival of the fittest, and for humans it is sink or swim. Perhaps that is why the Digivice calls only specific humans...?" they spoke, averting their gaze briefly from Mikemon. "Humans are in a way very similar to us Digimon. We are creatures of great potential. Even some of the mightiest of Mega or Super Mega levels after all were at one point in their life a mere Fresh level. The people that are involved in your life have great potential, and I'd be lying if I said I was not envious."
Pride itself turned its head back to the doctor, gently hovering closer. "Know that when I say this... I am not your enemy. I am merely a bystander, and I've just taken an interest in your group. Ever since that day you and that fallen angel dueled against that knight, you all had drawn my interest." they solemnly spoke before gazing back at Mikemon. "Like I've said... I merely just wished to check up on the seed you help guard. The girl that is a part of it is certainly exception, so I'm curious to see how she and their former partner will fair together... and what the murderer will do." she mused, but their tone soon grew cold. "After all... I think you know quite well just how bad an Ordinemon can be... If those humans did not step in to keep her from killing that Rasielmon and Crossmon..."
Pride grew quiet.

It was true - one way or another, they had made the choice to deny their past titles, and move forward into the world. To find their true selves? To hide from their destiny? The circumstances were likely different, but it was clear it wasn't something that Greed was going to reveal to someone he was only getting to know for the first time.
That said, Lucey seemed to talk like she knew them all personally, even going as far as to both compliment and 'pursue' Cassandra. To that, Mikemon could only give a low breath out, even nodding slightly in response. "She's definitely one whose earned my trust, but also one worth watching. For that... well, do what you will, I suppose." But wasn't Cassandra so driven, just as the humans were? Yes, there were duds, but the 'duds' didn't receive an Aato, a Digivice, a gate to the world. "... But maybe its not their potential that makes you truly envious?" The cat's tone was dry at that. Listening for so long, he just gave that short response - and a chuckle.
"Maybe they're a bit more than 'entertaining', is all."
But as Lucey slipped closer, it seemed she gained a slight change of tone. It wasn't just Cassandra or Haru - Mikemon himself had drawn the interest of this bug. Blinking, looking towards that fluttering lord, he carefully considered her words. She was both curious, and perhaps concerned... concerned of what Hunter might be capable of in the end.
The cat sighed. He did not respond with words - but as he sat, the walls seemed to strip away in that mental space. Standing up, the cat felt the setting shift around, the peat moss of the Dark Area warmly settling around his feet. The two stood as but spirits on this ancient battlefield - data and fallen bodies of Digimon strewn across the area.
"There's no way... retreat!"
"Damn it! Geoff! Granda!"
The cacophony of noise around them stood from an army in disarray, as there, over the Sea of Blood, loomed an impressively powerful Ordinemon, its very existence causing its shadows to cull the army below. In this disarray, a powerful wall of fire welled from below the Ordinemon, the beast screaming as it seared in flame.
The army looked back, and cheered on at their apparent saviors - a proud Barbamon and a chuckling Lillithmon.
"She's a bit on the nose, is she not? Though I see why you called me in for a favor..."
"Worry not! She'll not remain for long, my men!" His voice was confident, and riled the crowd - but Lucey, connected to Mikemon, would feel the truth. The agony in his heart, the sheer fear against the force he was facing. Moments later, that memory vanished, the two once more in that plain, white room.

If there was one thing evident about this angelic bug... it was that they held respect for Greed. Even as she explained herself, the former Barbamon countered with a rebuttal that was for the most part flawless. The doctor's own words directed towards this lord of Pride earned him a gentle chuckle from the creature... a bit more genuine than before. "Perhaps. It is a tad lonely in the Dark Area. Not helped by the Red Plague doing whatever it pleases down there." the insect spoke, though did not appear to wish to say more on the matter. "I'll let you form your own opinions of me as have others."
The mood of the conversation though turned more serious as the topic shifted to something that the Lucemon Larva considered serious enough to bring up. It was of no surprise to her as the field around them shifted into a memory of a time long, long ago... A firsthand image of that pale, fallen nephilim with wings that blotted out the sky looming above the masses below, the almost heroic visages of Greed's true form and Lust rallying the crowd.
"You wore the mask just as well as you do now." Lucey spoke, their tone more serious as they witnessed the events unfold... an ungratuitous slaughter that was halted as the memory faded.
"... Ordinemon. A creature that is considered on-par with Ogudomon. At its weakest, comparable to a natural disaster. At its prime, capable of destroying worlds." Pride repeated, she tilting her vision downward at the white abyss the two demon lords existed in. "They do not appear often, but the balance of this world has been upset I fear thanks to the presence of the Red Plague... they murmurred as they tilted their vision towards Mikemon once more. "A day ago, two of your club members deleted an Ordinemon that broke loose in Luminas. It is fortunate that it was destroyed so quickly, but it worries me as to what could happen if the soul inside that seed is tainted."
Lucey's form seemed to glimmer as they floated away from the doctor... shimmering in and out of existence. "I believe I have overstayed my welcome. I will leave you to your sleep, Greed... I hope though that if it ever comes down to it, you will do what is right." the creature spoke, their voice for a moment almost sounding pained. "Because I can't."
And with that, the Demon Lord vanished back into the aether.

Well, Mikemon would do just that - make his own opinions. If Lucey met with him like this more often, perhaps the cat would be more open to her way of speaking, her way of thinking, but for now, the cat kept it on the terms of one Lord talking to another.
Even that connection was quite an intimate one: Lucey was made to see Greed's own plight in his own era. The mention of his mask earned a bit of a twitch of his lip, whisckers flickering off to the side - and as she continued to speak, he gave a sigh. "I am glad that my time as a Lord was not met with the creation of an Ogudomon, but this was a close second." But Lucey's concern was warranted: with the current state of the world, if not an Ordinemon, then something might be thrown off-kilter in the mix. That it might be Haru, though an uncomfortable thought, was something to keep in mind.
"... You're as blunt as a cinder block." Eventually conceding a laugh, he gave a nod as the insect started to float away. That last note sounded quite sour, but before he could even respond, the insect had vanished from sight. Outwardly, the cat gave a groan, simply rolling over in his sleep. The next few days were greeted and met the same as the last. That following morning, Mikemon seemed a 'little' off, but after he had a morning coffee, he seemed right back to his old self. He couldn't focus on the negatives right now, not with that egg on the horizon - though that same day, he had to let Tawna know that the egg was close.
That she couldn't cradle it, as she had been. Carefully settling it in the incubator, the cat would let it rest, and likely try and keep Tawna's restless spirit both 'up' and 'in-check'.
For that very next day.?
That would be the day the egg came to stir.

As the suspected day neared, Tawna's own anticipation was practically impossible to control neared. Almost two weeks now, and finally the fruits of these labors... they would finally come together.
It was not easily initially for Tawna to relieve the egg to Mikemon, but she eventually relented as she allowed him to take what was hers... That egg was all she had, but now that the expected day it was to hatch was here? Well, it was enough for Tawna to be willing to endure... if just for a bit longer.
The feline was waiting patiently near the incubator, trying to watch from outside if any cracks would appear. She... she actually had never seen a Digiegg before, so this was a new experience. Frankly, her eagerness to see the hatching was perhaps a bit on the gungho side... enough that Mikemon would have spotted her first thing in the morning waiting by it, her tail swishing about intensely.
"... Are you sure its today, Mikemon? We didn't do anything wrong, did we?" Tawna innocently asked, though her attention was never drawn away from the object at-hand.

Tawna was never one to be known for being patient.
As Mikemon stirred in the morning, his sleep thrown off by both the anticipation for the egg and the rather unfamiliar setting (two weeks and he still couldn't get used to it!), he found Tawna, sitting and perched right below the incubator. Hearing her eager, yet concerned tone, the doctor gave a small smirk - followed by a yawn, as he arched and stretched out his back.
"I'd ask if you got any sleep at all last night... but I already know the answer is 'no'." Slowly getting up himself, he gave a nod towards Tawna's question. "It should be today, but even if its not, the egg is fine. The data has been fine through check-ups - now c'mon. I know you aren't going to be able to get any shut-eye, but let's at least eat something so we can be a bit more awake." Opening a small cabinet, the cat's nose scrunched a bit in frustration. You think he'd have gotten used to boxed pastries at this point, but... ugh.
"Blueberry or Cherry?"

Was it really perhaps a surprise to see the Meicoomon up at this point? Admittingly, it was perhaps not healthy to have stayed up so early... She had been awake for the past few hours, but she couldn't allow herself to miss something like today. She'd have never have been able to forgive herself if she allowed herself to miss the hatching! "I've been oversleeping the past week or two... I'll be fine if I miss a couple hours of shut-eye." the maine coon spoke as she turned to face the doctor, her eyes a bit groggy-looking frankly. "I'm just... I'm so excited doctor... I've been waiting for this for so long." she chuckled softly, though it was clear that it was a somewhat emotional event for Tawna. She missed her friend so dearly... and even if it may take time for things to get back to somewhat-normalcy... it'd be all worth it in the end.
The feline sighed as the topic of food was brought up... She had somewhat regained her appetite as of recently, likely due to the emotional support Mikemon was offering here with his presence. "I'm a cherry person. Red things taste better." she somewhat childishly spoke, though a psychiatrist probably could garner some information out of that statement... Maybe. That or she just liked the color of red.
The Meicoomon stretched herself briefly as she sat down, taking a deep breath to collect her thoughts... though it was difficult to tear her eyes away from the egg. Still, she tried her best to keep her mind off it for the meantime... at least for now. "... I've been trying to practice Digivolving again... Not quite got Ultimate level yet, but I think once I can get some fresh air it wouldn't take long." she idly began to talk though, it was clear from the somewhat contemplative look on her face though that there was more to this conversation. "... I can't Digivolve to Vicious Mode anymore though. Do... do you know that feeling when you understand what types of forms are accessible to you? I still feel like Meicrackmon and Rasielmon are still there, but Vicious Mode and Raguelmon are... gone. Funny as still a Virus."

Eh, Tawna had a fair point. Giving a shrug, the cat just gave his caution: "Alright, just take care not to push yourself too hard. You'll have me to help out with Haru - don't think you have to handle everything yourself." The doctor managed to slip in a small smile: "Because I'll have you know, baby Digimon are exhausting."
At the very least, the two were able to keep their spirits up. Tawna was sleeping properly, eating, and even able to joke again. Grabbing a blueberry one for himself, he offered the red packet over to Tawna, not thinking to put too much thought into it. Taking a bite into his own pastry, his ear flicked as Tawna started to speak.
She was already thinking of Digivolving again? "You should be able to hit Ultimate once you're back up to speed... hm?" To that second bit, Mikemon actually gave a nod. "I do know what you mean, actually. For the longest time I couldn't feel my Ultimate form - Beastmon - after I, well, dropped my title as 'Lord'." He was able to speak about that somewhat openly, at least one-on-one with Tawna. "That bridge seems to have fixed itself after we fused to fight that Gallantmon - but yeah, traumatic instances and direct altercations to ones core will open up, as well as close off, what forms can be available to a Digimon."
It wasn't the most comfortable topic, but at least the Mikemon could explain it! "Given what Cassandra said, its possible those forms ended up with the egg..."

Tawna lightly chuckled at the doctor's concerns... if because she admittingly couldn't promise much. "You know me. Its others first, me second." the Meicoomon quipped, though soon frowned as she closed her eyes at the mention of baby Digimon. "... Hmm. I hope she'll be able to evolve quick and remember who she is. When she is ready, the first thing I want us to do is get her to see her sister again. I've only had Haru for one year... Naoko has had her for at least fifteen more." the Meicoomon mused. Naoko was perhaps the only other person to have experienced as much pain as she had... enough to trigger a Dark Digivolution for Titania.
... Honestly, they deserved Haru more than she did.
As she took the time to sit down and bite into the sugary confection. Mikemon was definitely more the knowledgeable type about this type of thing... Technically she herself was not an intellectual, and any intellect of her Rasielmon form was temporary and associated with the form itself. Still, she couldn't help but adopt a cat-like smile at the mention of the doctor's Ultimate level, purring in a teasing manner. "I can imagine least why you've disassociated with such a form... Though I don't think that your wife would mind." the Meicoomon teased, idly wishing she had some cold milk right now. "At least Haru probably will be able to easier understand why forms like that exist... Us Digimon don't exactly have a set gender perse after all. Raguelmon is pretty much in that same niche." she spoke, chuckling to herself... more so out of an attempt to try and not dwell on the negatives. More difficult than you'd think though when morality and human dignity were somewhat at stake. "... I wonder how she'll take this though. I... I can only imagine what she may feel about this. Do you think she'll be mad at us...? Would it have been if..."
Tawna grew quiet as a concerned look briefly formed on her face, though she soon shook it off. "No... I'm positive she'll be okay. We'll do whatever we can to help her on the way.
Finishing up her own breakfast, the Meicoomon let out a glum sigh at the mention of why perhaps she could not feel certain forms of her's. It... It did make sense. With the way their data was basically mangled by that Meicoomon, it wouldn't have been shocking if Haru inherited those forms. "... Oh gee. Thats gonna be awkward... She has SOME practice with Raguelmon thanks to me, but she'll need to learn how to control any of her higher forms."

Tawna was Tawna, that much was true. Rolling his eyes, Mikemon couldn't help but share in that chuckle... and once more, her impatience poked through. This time, though, it was for a good reason: "Well, thankfully, Digimon aren't babies that long, and with the amount of data that went into that egg, it might be even shorter than that. Though, yes... Naoko should definitely have the chance to see her sister again."
That was definitely a bit of a somber thought.
Food served as a decent enough distraction, though. Biting into his own blueberry pastry, his ear flicked as Tawna started to tease, Mikemon both trying to stifle a blush and roll his eyes as the Meicoomon gave that thought. "We'll, um, cross that bridge when we get to it." But yes, Haru would now get some direct first-hand experience in that same boat. That, however, didn't take long for Tawna to slip back into that 'trap' of beating down her own emotions. Would Haru take it poorly?
Maybe. But that wasn't important - Mikemon gave a nod as Tawna shook it off. "Knowing her, she'll make the best of it."
With breakfast soon behind them, and the thought of the forms back at the forefront, it gave Tawna something else to think about. "Maybe - and maybe it won't be as bad as you think. Digimon tend to 'instinctively know' how to use their higher forms. By the time Haru has to use them - hell, if she has to use them - she might just slip right back into it comfortably enough?"
That sounded more like a guess, testament to how unprecedented this entire situation was. Well... the egg wouldn't be long now...

Perhaps she was just getting worried over nothing...? Truth be told, the doctor had a stronger understanding of how Digimon as a whole worked; it made sense that perhaps it wouldn't take as long as a true newborn Digimon. "... I guess in a kinda twisted way, this is really just a reincarnation for that Meicoomon... just with Haru up front. It was not really Haru's data, for she was just a small piece of a sea of data." she briefly mused regarding the unintended host of Haru's ressurection. It... It scared even her. "... I am worried though about the original owner of that data. Cas said that... they wouldn't be completely gone. Haru is strong, but that Meicoomon... it was like looking at a broken mirror."
Tawna shook her head briefly... the memory of that creature's red eyes glaring down at her, knowing fully well they were capable of ending her life with just one more stab deeper into her core. She barely escaped with her life, and the phantom pain still existed in some fashion.
Maybe she was getting herself all riled up too soon... Now wasn't the time to feel sad or scared. There was too much to be excited for... She had to be happy, for Haru's sake. The Meicoomon chuckled slightly from Mikemon's words of encouragement, shaking her head as she grasped at her head slightly. "I guess on the plus side, since our data is going to be so similar... I'd be able to help her out if she ever needs any. I just hope she won't mind four or so stages of shortness."
For a moment, Tawna had thought that she might have accidentally dropped the wrapper to her breakfast... but the sharp sound came from behind her. It... did not take long for her hopes to rise as she did what immediately came to mind as she rushed to the incubator, and sure enough the first cracks were beginning to show on the egg. "Doc! Doc! Its happening! Its happening!"

Of course, even ignoring the fact that Haru was destined to be reborn as a Digimon, the process was far from perfect - and, as Tawna mentioned, perhaps not even secure. Hunter was a powerful Digimon in her own right, and Haru's consciousness was simply being imprinted upon it.
"In any case, it's still a risk worth taking. Not going to say it will be easy..." the cat gave a shrug, giving one last bite of that pastry, "but I'm willing to take it on."
They didn't have any time to dwell on the negative as it was. With Tawna's next words - and particularly, on that quip about height - Mikemon let out a short laugh. "At least you get taller! I dont even grow an inch between champion and mega." He gave Tawna a playful bump of his elbow...
...Just as that 'crick' sounded in the background. The doctor's ear flicked, and as Tawna's excitement bellowed out, the doctor immediately talked her down. "Tawna, deep breath. Count back from ten, and just take a step back."
This was important: the egg couldn't be disturbed at this stage. Slowly stepping up to the incubator - simply checking that the egg remained largely in place, held in its cradle - he waited.
"C'mon back, Haru..."

As much as she disliked the mere concept that... thing occupying the same space Haru was to as well, did she really have much choice right now? It was not a perfect process... but it didn't matter now. She just wanted her friend back.
Tawna closed her eyes as the doctor spoke to her, she trying to calm her heart as it practically was racing. It was so difficult to completely remove that excitement in her heart though... This was so difficult for her. The way that her breathing slowed down may have almost for a moment seemed like she stopped breathing... though a slight gulp of air at least signified she was heeding the doctor's words. The Meicoomon took a few steps back towards as she allowed Mikemon to check the egg briefly so they could give it time to hatch.
For a moment, it might seem that the egg paused its movement... but a few more sudden movements chipped away at the white shell, light finally gleaming into its innards as it shifted in shape as it took on a familiar blob-like form that both Tawna and Mikemon would immediately recognize.
The newly reborn YukumiBotamon's first action? Bawl its eyes out. The small Fresh level was crying almost immediately as they breathed their first breath, more so than perhaps just a simple protest for food and crankiness. As to why though...? Well, that was a mystery in of itself.
This reaction was quick to cause Tawna to flinch, for a moment unsure what to do. Was this... normal? Newborn Digimon were... a bit intimidating to say the least, partially since she had no clue as to why they were crying. Still, the first thing that came to the Meicoomon's mind was the desire to nurture. She glanced over to Mikemon somewhat hesitantly before opening the incubator, taking great care to gently pick up the newly-hatched Digimon... they no larger than either her or Mikemon's own hands. "... Shh. Its going to be okay Haru... Its going to be okay..." the Champion level gently spoke, for a moment her eyes getting watery. "You're safe now."
