"Well it's certainly been a while, but now things seem to be moving now, right, Bells?" Luke said from the commentary box.
"Yep, here we are at the Round 3 losing bracket, and our first match involves a couple of players that have been waiting patiently for a while" Bellamy answered, the two brothers postured for a good view of the arena.
"So then, from the East Wing we have none other than Ban the Leomon!"
"And from the West Wing we have Wormmon the Wormmon and his partner Dante!"
"So then, contestants, you know the drill by now! Let's make this a good fight!"
Rules are as follows.
1. Post within 3 days of it being your turn, otherwise you will concede the match to the other player if you don't have a good excuse. Also if the match takes longer than 2 months, the battle will be over and staffers will judge the winner.
2. No targeting Dante.
3. Do not kill your opponent, aim to knock them out.
4. No digivolving beyond what your opponent is capable of.
5. This match is non-canon, so don't worry about where this is in your characters' stories.
6. Please don't attack on your first post. This post is meant for introductions. You may begin the fight on your 2nd post.
I have flipped a coin, and it seems Dante has the first post.

Live from Infinity Coliseum, two allies square off for pride and glory. The lights in the arena go low. There's a brief pause, before the music hits. MusicThe lights in the arena start flashing gold and purple. Red smoke pours out from the entrance. A team of gothic cheerleaders wearing black and red uniforms and fishnet stockings dance their way down the ramp. A spotlight shines up in the cheap seats. Wormmon is dancing in the crowd. The Worm King shoots a strand of silk thread onto a cable and ziplines down into the ring. The angsty cheerleaders get in the ring and Wormmon starts spanking them. The crowd goes wild, but still no sight of Dante. Wormmon looks around for his Human. Piedmon is in the crowd and starts to get cranky. "What's going on here? Where is the young Palladino boy? Oh, I can't wait any longer! I'm missing the opera for this."
Piedmon opens a portal and disappears. A portal opens up inside the ring and Dante comes flying out and lands on his butt. He is wearing a baseball cap and a leather jacket and holding a beer. "Oww! What the hell, man?"
Piedmon's head pops out of the portal. "You've got a match, so hop to it, ya drunk!" "Wha? Uh, oh ya... Alright then."
Piedmon portals back over to his seat. Dante takes a swig of his beer and gets up. He strolls over to the Worm King. "Hey, Wormmon." "Hey, Dante... Glad to see you taking a break from being a drunk loser. Hahaha!" "What? I've been busy with college." "Ya, like you ever go to class. Now then, let's commence preparations for rumbling! Ho yeah! Hey Dante, check out my cheerleaders." "Yes, they are very nice." "Maybe you should ask one of them out." "I can't ask one of them out in front of the rest. It would make them jealous. I can't have half a dozen hot goth cheerleaders fighting over me." "Oh, who am I kidding? You're not boyfriend material."

Ban strolled into the now familiar arena, once more, one meaty hand on his neck, cracking his neck, casually. After he finished with his neck going to the right, then to the left, his eyes stopped staring absently into space, as the human collapsed, face-first into the arena, his eyes slowly craned over towards his foes, which started arguing the moment they saw each other. The Leomon rotated his shoulders, preparing himself for combat, and gripping his left arm, even though healing magic sorted out the physical wound, he still recalled the sensation of losing use in his left arm, from a wound in the previous match.
His foe was a human in a digimon's body, who's ingenuity surprised him time and time again, so much so he didn't mind being kicked to the loser's bracket, even though he was never in it to win, in the first place. The knowledge gained here was more valuable than any prize he could receive. He was familiar with this particular pair, and he couldn't help but wonder what it was that had so many digimon interested in this particular human and his digimon. One thing was for sure, underestimating his foe, even with an embarrassing entrance like that.
Ban stamped his mighty foot on the ground, announcing his presence to the other contestants with a loud "Thud!" He stared the two down, standing tall and resolute, "I see you're doing well, Dante, and you as well, Worm." He stated, muscles bulging in tension, "I don't suppose you wish to introduce yourself, so I vote we get on with this, would you be so kind as to make the first move?" He requested, not changing his stance in the slightest, as he waited for his human foe to make the first move. Of all things, he disliked wasting time with idle chit chat, especially if they already know one another.

After the usual shenanigans from the Worm King and his lackadaisical Human, the duo turn their attention to their next challenger. A Leomon they are familiar with walks down the ramp.
"Hey, I know that guy! Hiya, Leomon! I thought you were dead." "That's not Leomon, little buddy." "What are you talking about, Dante? It's clearly a Leomon." "It's not that particular Leomon." "Yes it is. See? His arm is injured." "For crying out loud... That is Ban! BAAAAAN!" "Ban? Oooooooooh, gotcha. Well, if you're going to bash someone's face in, it might as well be someone you like." "That doesn't make sense. Though I do admit that I am a tad befuddled facing off against a philosopher I have so much respect for. Let's make this a good fight, Wormmon. Don't hold back."
Ban is offering the merchant of mischief the first move, and it appears like they will be starting off at the Champion level. Wormmon forms a cocoon of silk thread and bursts out in a display of flashing green lights as Stingmon. The King of Sting pumps his fists together and cracks his neck, acting as overconfident and ready for action as ever. Dante stands off to the side to avoid getting caught in the crossfire.
"Ho yeah! Stingmon's back in the house! Ladies, to my left for make out sessions. Idiots to my right for attitude adjustments."
Stingmon takes an offensive stance as his energy cannon powers up. He raises his arm out and fires a pulsating Moon Cannon blast directed towards Ban. The crowd roars in excitement as this bout is underway. Dante is feeling confident in his partner after a series of victories, but Wormmon had to battle hard to secure those close fights. It had been a while since they last saw Ban, so what had the wanderer learned on his journeys since then?
"That's right, Stingmon. Start off swinging early. Keep the pressure on and stay on guard. Your speed advantage could be the decisive edge in this one."
Dante had been rooting for Ban to succeed in the tournament so far, but now that they are up against the Leomon, all that goes out the door. The competition in the loser's bracket is still pretty fierce. One more victory could go a long way. Can Stingmon one up this fellow 'mon in the ring? Would injuries from previous battles play a role in this matchup? _____________________

Ban noticed Dante's seemingly quick recovery from whatever intoxication he was influenced by, and after a brief exchange, the two finally seemed to recognize him. He had assumed they were already familiar with him. His mistake, he supposed. The two quickly prepared for combat, however, so he could get on with things. His opponent's first move was... Posturing... Technically, it wasn't exactly too stupid a move, as his foes would be familiar with his fighting style, from their previous run adventure, so they would know this form's abilities could not reach the opponent for a surprise attack before the opponent could finish boasting.
Regardless, Stingmon started the fight by raising his arm and aiming straight at Ban. He raised his brow, and started moving the moment his foe seemed to finish targeting him. His counter-play was simply to stand tall, once more, pivoting on his front foot in order to neatly sidestep the energy shot, which sizzled straight past his chest, merely inches from contact. Once the energy had passed him, he returned to a normal stance, and started strolling towards his foe. For a first move, his foe had left much to be desired. A child could discern Stingmon's intent the moment he raised his arm and revealed the gathering energy in his arm.
Ban continued strolling towards his opponent, his steely gaze burning with his indomitable will, focused squarely on the other champion level. His stance was clear in the battle; take this more seriously. He had no intention of slowing his approach, as he was most effective at close range, and unless his opponent brought up a legitimate defense against him, he would simply walk up to the insectoid and beat him into submission. He wanted his opponent to learn one thing first and foremost, he would need to form a plan of attack to deal with Ban. He was already introduced to Human ingenuity, and he hoped to learn more of it from this battle.

Stingmon's opener left much to be desired. The blast of energy zooms by, as Ban has no difficulty dodging at that range. It was a decent enough attack, but the King of Sting had telegraphed his intentions like a wannabe ladies man picking up chicks at the bar. And no corny pickup line is going to do Stingmon any good. Dante merely shrugs his shoulders and appears nonchalant.
"That figures. How do you expect to hit your target when you make your attack obvious?" "Well what would you rather I do? Send him a Christmas card?! Talk about my collection of dirty underwear I keep hidden behind your dresser?" "Wait, what?!" "Uh, nevermind!"
Instead of fighting fire with fire, Ban starts walking towards Stingmon. Perhaps he is more focused than the mean green fighting machine. Stingmon tilts his head forward and his antennas twitch.
"Wow. You've got some loud footprints there. Are you carrying around a few extra pounds of lard under your fur?"
Dante knows that even at Champion level, his partner has plenty of tools at his disposal. Stingmon's first attack could be regarded as a warning shot of what is to come. Before Leomon can reach Stingmon, the King of Sting leaps up into the air and starts dashing around. Ban may be able to track his movements, but melee combat is out of the question until he can ground Stingmon or catch him off guard.
Stingmon circles around and faces Ban's back. While hovering in the air, Stingmon channels energy into his cannon and generates a ball of plasma energy. Stingmon grasps it in his hand, and like an ace pitcher he hurls the plasma ball like a baseball directed at Ban. At this angle, and considering the greater blast radius, this attack would be much more likely to hit its target.
"Take this! Beanball Attack!"
The announcers are commentating from their booth in the stands.
"Zounds! The King of Sting throwing some chin music, there." "Is Ban going to be heading to first after this?" _____________________
Actions: Stingmon flies around the ring, then throws a Plasma Ball at Ban from behind.
Plasma Ball: Stingmon channels energy into his cannon, and creates a dense ball of plasma energy. Stingmon throws the ball, and upon contact it unleashes a contained explosion, dealing severe damage to anything it hits. 4 post cooldown.

Ban had neither the patience nor desire to explain to his foe that muscle weighed more than body fat, as he casually observed his foe take flight. It was really only a matter of time, now, for his foe to have done so, as it was apparent Ban had little in the way of ways to bring the aerial foe down, and it seemed like his plan was keeping his distance, a wise choice, certainly, and Ban had to acknowledge how the simplest plans were often the best course of action, as his fighting style represented. His foe circled around him, and yelled his attack, once more.
Ban glanced back, casually, making direct eye contact with his foe, muttering to himself, "That won't work on me twice..." as the attack was launched, clenching his left fist, before pivoting on his front foot, his entire forearm becoming wreathed in a golden fire. With a mighty roar, he clashed this energy with the incoming projectile, it's large amounts of energy surprising Ban, and forcing him back a few feet, his feet biting into the ground below him. His arm's muscles bulged, in a way that looked almost painful, as he roared, once more, in sheer defiance, as he finished his backhanded swing, the energy around his arm fizzling and fading, before he finally succeeded in redirecting the incoming projectile away from him, sending it towards the wall behind him, the concentrated amounts of plasma finally detonating.
He stared up at his foe, rubbing the back of his arm, where a visible burn mark was located. "An excellent attack, had you hit me, I would have been in trouble." He complimented, opening and closing his fist, ensuring his limb still functioned, before returning his attention towards his rival, once more. He had a feeling this fight wasn't really going anymore, but he would give his opponent one more attack, before taking things seriously. "Come on, then!" He challenged, his smile vanishing as he took his stance once more, extending one hand forward, the other being stored back, near his blade's hilt, prepared for the incoming attack.

It would seem in spite of Stingmon's angle of attack, Ban avoided taking a direct hit from this attack too. The Leomon uses his Beast King's Shield to deflect the Plasma Ball, sending it ricocheting off towards a wall and detonating upon impact. Stingmon, hovering in midair, gives Ban a curious look and raises one antenna. His wings flutter rapidly as excess energy flows out of his energy cannon.
"You mean that attack missed too? Hey! You're supposed to take your beating like a man."
Dante isn't sure what Ban's strategy is. Stingmon's attacks are not landing, but Ban isn't fighting back yet. The King of Sting flies around the ring in a circle, then halts to a stop before taking off in the other direction. His armor starts to radiate lime green colored energy as vapor, but the energy turns jet black. Stingmon's armor turns black and dark red, as several spikes emerge on his arms and shoulders.
"Stingmon activated his Nightmare Armor this early? What is he hoping to accomplish? Ban hasn't even attacked yet."
Stingmon pauses in the air for a moment to pose in his new form. He tilts his head down towards his opponent and let out a fearsome shriek. He gently glides from side to side, quick to make a move if Ban does launch an attack. Several of Stingmon's fangirls in the crowd squeal and lust over Wormy in his Nightmare Armor form.
"I LOVE YOU STINGMOOOOOON!" "TAKE ME TO PLEASURE TOWN YOU STUD!"
Stingmon smirks and bashes his fists together, letting out sparks of energy from his forearms. Even in a battle, this bug is digging the attention.
"Thank you, thank you. Shout out to all my sexy ladies out there. Don't forget to shake those melons!"
(Thinking) "Great, he's showing off. Damn it, I can't help but be jealous. Look at all the Digi babes swooning over that vain bug. He's so in love with himself. Why can't there be some hot human chicks in the crowd pining for me? I'm sexy, right?" _____________________

Ban frowned, at Stingmon's show-off attitude, the fool wasn't taking this seriously! "Is it possible...?" Ban wondered, before he started chuckling, he had indeed underestimated his opponent, "So it was that obvious, hm? Well, apologies are in order, then." He stated, stoic as ever, with a hint of playfulness in his voice. "I am sorry, I see it now, you will not take me seriously in this fight, hm? At least, not until I give it my all." He explained the exact thing he assumed Stingmon had already realized, given his at-first-glance arrogant behavior. No, it was a message being sent clear as day; "try harder, then I'll take you seriously", Ban considered himself a fool not to have read between the lines until now.
"Very well, allow me to inspire you." He smiled, raising one of his legs into the air, before placing his massive hands on each of his knees, pressing his airborne limb into the ground, in a sumo-like challenge stance, before he grit his teeth, fanning his internal fire to the point of bursting, before he let out yet another roar, which was mighty enough to silence Stingmon's fans, and drown out most of the cheering, which had slowed, then halted, as the match slowed to virtually a halt.
"Hrraaaaagh!!!" he roared, his body becoming coated in the same mystic energy as before, this time all over his body, before the noise was drowned out by what sounded like several jet turbines roaring from the storm of golden fire, as the fire was fanned by a wind, dispersing it but sending up a large cloud of dust around the leonine warrior, hiding him from view, as silence claimed the arena, as the elder warrior fell silent, before the roaring of a jet engine filled the air, once more, as a pair of piercing blue eyes shot straight into Stingmon's gaze, as, with a swing of his metallic arm, Ban tossed aside the dust cloud, revealing his shiny ultimate form.
"Grapleomon." Announced Ban's booming voice, speaking at an even level, once more, he extended his arm towards Stingmon, in a motion that clearly stated "Your turn." One could swear a mild smirk played at the cyborg lion's lips as he challenged his foe to follow his escalation of level. "Let's take this to the next level, shall we?" he offered, his voice returning to it's previous composed state.
Active Passives: Steel Gaze (Enhancements to eyes improve accuracy of attacks as well as tracking capability even on swifter foes)
Summary: Ban digivolves to his ultimate form, for the first time in a very long time!

It would seem that Stingmon's showing off was a sign that he wasn't taking Ban seriously. The Leomon decides it is time to step it up. The sunlight shines off of Stingmon's Nightmare Armor, reflecting a dark red hue. Stingmon crosses his arms and smirks down at Ban as he stomps his feet and takes a sumo stance.
"Ha! I can take this fight seriously, and dazzle all of my adoring fans." "Still as vain as ever..."
The crowd watches on as Ban starts building energy. Dante and Stingmon look confused.
"Hmm, what is Ban doing?" "Is he taking a dookie? Oh, gross! Bad kitty!"
The Leomon dawns a metallic coat before Digivolving to Grapleomon in a blaze of energy. Dante is puzzled by Ban choosing to Digivolve at this point in the fight. Stingmon throws his arms down to his sides and snarls at Ban.
"What the hell are you doing Digivolving now?! I just activated my super sexy armor, and you go and ruin it! Well, if you wanted to take this to the Ultimate, you should have just said so. *Snickers* Or, did the cat get your tongue? AAAH HAAA HAAAAAA!!!"
Stingmon's armor hardens and forms a cocoon of energy around Wormy. One by one, six red and white spider legs burst out of the cocoon before it shatters, revealing Archnemon. The Spider Queen lands hard on the ground, the sound echoing throughout the arena, her legs absorbing the impact like shocks. Archnemon tilts her head back and shrieks. The announcers react with excitement.
"Zounds! Not only did Ban Digivolve to Grapleomon, but now Stingmon has Digivolved to Archnemon!" "We just saw Wormy fight in this form in the last round, and let me tell you, it was one spectacular bout."
The Spider Queen starts spraying her webbing around the ring, creating a large spider web covering about 60% of the ring. Archnemon crawls up and across the web, gaining a height advantage.
"Heh heh hee hee! You'll never be able to outlast me at this stage. And now I even have breasts!"
Archnemon jiggles her chest around, making a seductive face. Dante hangs his head and sighs. Wormy's ego is out of control, but the good news for the gruesome twosome is that Archnemon is starting off strong out of the gates. Dante has learned not to underestimate the Spider Queen, but this match is still in the early stages. Now that the battle has been dialed up to Ultimate, what do these combatants have in store? _____________________

Ban opened and closed his hand, before whirring the engine on his hand, as if testing out the capabilities of his new form. He then glanced upwards, noticing the web spinning of his foe. He had observed some of the pair's previous match, and was therefore prepared for the sudden change in display of ego. He cracked his knuckles, before cracking his neck, until his opponent was finished setting He paid no mind to Archnemon's strange display, as he started hopping up and down, from his left to the right, like a boxer, abandoning his stoic, unmoving stance from before. "My, my, I had forgotten how good it feels to be so light." he remarked, his voice considerably more carefree, as if he was... having fun?
Regardless, Ban returned his attention to his foe, switching his stance and bringing he back foot back, his shadow of a grin vanished, as he switched back into combat mode, and whirred the engine on his back leg, before swinging his leg, in a front snap stick. That attack launched a miniature tornado straight towards his arthropod enemy, the gust of wind would traverse along the ground, kicking up a bunch of sand, through the webs, before it would suddenly curve upwards.
This would both aim to dislodge the spider from her web, lifting her into the air, as well as toss up a small cloud of sand, and in the commotion, the mechanical feline would vanish into the sand cloud he created. Ban's eyes could easily discern the webs through his sandstorm, ducking and weaving through the webs with relative ease.

With the appearance of Wormy's web, it would seem the Spider Queen has the edge. However, Ban turns the tide as he kicks up sand and debris into the air by generating a tornado. Archnemon struggles to maintain balance on her web as she starts to shake up and down. Caught in the sudden storm, Archnemon saves the trash talking for later and focuses on the fight.
Archnemon crawls further along her web, trying to get out of the powerful gust of wind. As Ban disappears into the sand, Wormy is left without a target, so attacking doesn't make much sense. Though hopefully Ban's vision would also be hindered enough. Archnemon makes a grunting noise as she plops down a spider egg on her web. It hatches and reveals a Dokugumon. Hopefully with a lackey fighting along side the red and white menace, it would tilt the scales towards Archnemon.
Dante couldn't do much from the sidelines. It was almost too difficult to see either combatant. Dante covers his face and turns his head as a wave of sand gets close, though he remains unharmed. This fight is turning out differently than the last round. Could Archnemon do it again and come out on top? What is Ban's weakness? The crowd continues to cheer, even as they lose sight of Ban. What would happen next? _____________________
Actions: Archnemon crawls along her web trying to escape the sandstorm, and summons a Dokugumon.
Spider Queen: Creates a Dokugumon to fight along side in battle. The summoned Digimon is a weak Champion level, and can use basic attacks. Archnemon can manipulate them to block an incoming attack, or sacrifice them to restore health. Limit 2 at a time. 5 post cooldown.

Ban swiftly came to a stop, approximately where Archnemon had started, before his assault began, although they were long gone by this point, which was to be expected. If Archnemon had been hit dead-on by the initial gust of wind, she might very well have been carried off her web. That wasn't the point of this exercise, of course, he had learned when facing a human adversary, planning several steps ahead was necessary, as if he wasn't the one controlling the match, his foes would gladly take his place. For now, though, Ban focused, as he disliked just how comfortable Archnemon was in her natural habitat, and he started focusing his energy into the turbine on his right arm; his sword arm.
Through rotating his turbines incredibly quickly, wind circled around his fist, before extending outwards, forming what looked like a long tornado, starting from his fist and ending in a point. He then set to work, using his blade of wind, aiming to slice clean through the webs surrounding him, wishing to clear out a small patch of ground, before he eventually stopped. He then considered what he had assumed about this webbing, as he stared at his work.
He had assumed two things: one, Archnemon could detect the presence of her foes through disturbances in her webbing, and two, his turbines would make enough of a racket for her to find him regardless. He then stood, defiantly in the center of his clearing, tracing an X at his feet, exactly in the center. The bait was set, and he just needed his foe to approach close enough. The sandstorm, without more wind to keep itself stable, was already rapidly deteriorating, so much so that one could easily see the silhouettes within, and the ultimate-leveled cyborg standing within, his bouncy steps gone, but clearly on-guard.

Dante and Archnemon are familiar with Ban from their past adventures in the Digital World, but battling against him was another story. It seems that at this stage, Ban has strong wind elemental powers. Does that give him an advantage over the bug-based Spider Queen? Dante cannot recall a time that Archnemon battled a Digimon with wind powers before. Even with Archnemon's high class durability, Dante realizes that Ban may have an advantage in this matchup.
While Ban is hidden from sight inside the whirlwind, he starts hacking and slashing away at Archnemon's web. While this prevents him from becoming caught in the webbing, the vibrations of the threads gives Archnemon an idea of where Ban in located. The Spider Queen smirks and licks her fangs, smelling blood in the water.
"N'yah! You can't escape your fate. When I'm on my web, that makes you my prey!"
Archnemon fires several Spider Threads towards the source of the vibrations. The Dokugumon follows suit and sprays her thread as well, a weak Champion level attack. Combined, if the attacks land, it would land quite a decent blow. The threads shoot across the air, flying into the whirlwind. While Wormy's attacks have been lacking so far, Ban's offense wasn't firing on all cylinders either. At this rate, Dante feels that Archnemon's resiliency will lead to another victory for the Spider Queen. Though the last fight was down to the wire, and Ban might be even tougher.
(Thinking) "Things are going well so far. I wasn't expecting Wormy to battle as Archnemon so soon, but I must say I am relieved. Archnemon is every bit as determined to defeat her opponent as Stingmon, and way more wicked. And when Wormy is focused on the fight, she's not that insufferable."
The crowd continues to cheer and roar as the battle wages on. Wormy's antics in the previous rounds have earned her a polarizing reputation. While many are fans of her showmanship, her bad attitude has earned her the disdain of many in the crowd. Dante is not as wrapped up in the crowd's opinion as Wormy is. What matters is what goes on in the ring, and right now Wormy is giving no quarter. _____________________

Spider Thread: Fires razor-sharp wires to cut through objects and tear into flesh.

Ban felt like smiling, but he couldn't waste time. This sort of body certainly filled him the the desire to express himself, perhaps the element of air itself was filling his being, rather than obeying his commands. He would need to focus, and train to keep this sort of behavior under control. Regardless, he could already hear his loud foe scuttling towards him, and all of the turbines of his limbs started roaring to life, as well as his blade. As the bladed wires approached his silhouette, Ban seemed to vanish as the threads sliced so cleanly all of the remaining sandstorm dust, revealing his set up circle, and the X-mark where he was just standing.
Ban hovered, above everything, quickly analyzing the situation, judging from the attack he had just avoided, he would have been caught if he hadn't activated this card. He didn't have any time at all, really, and he had to make the quickest solution. He quickly counted; one, two... three? It seemed his foe summoned an ally. He made his choice, and rotated mid-air, brandishing his wind blade, once more. In an instant, he charged downwards, aiming his blade at the back of the Dokugumon, aiming to impale it from above. He would then land on it's back, confident it had no way to catch him, as it had no limbs capable of reaching him. He would then spring back into the air, out of either of their reaches.
Once more, he stood, in the air, staring down at his foe, as if daring them to make a move. He was confident he could reliably outmaneuver his opponent, but the size difference and the clear reliance of traps meant that a moment of hesitation could spell the end of this fight. He needed to stay on his toes, and he needed to find a way to guarantee a hit, if he could just land that move, his foe could go down. If he missed, however, it would leave him at point-blank range. This entire battle hinged on that one moment, and whoever could capitalize on it.
