How many forms was she blessed with? How many of those forms did she know inside and out?How many of those forms did she use regularly? The answer? not enough. It would never be enough for her. For a being that had sworn that she would protect the digital world with every fiber of her being she spent a surprising amount of it in one place. Doing little more than protecting those close to her. Protecting those afar from her would require reach she did not have alone. So then that meant that she would have to bring herself to get more people to follow her to bring her dream of creating a safe world for her family and friends to fruition. It was a dream that she could not and would not sit idly around hoping that others could do it instead of her. No she would take the time to train herself in every form regardless of how many bruises she suffered how many painful places she was burned down in. She didn't care just how often she was brought into the abyss of pain. She would endure it for them, until she found her body breaking time and time again. She would not allow herself to fall after all she was a knight. No she wasn't a royal knight or anything lofty like that. She was self proclaimed at this point. An apostle no longer to a meaning that would show little to the others and would only serve to raise her about the people she swore herself to protect. She would burn this desire, this want this title into her core so that even if she perished that the further individuals that carried her form would know this. That they would only end up following in her footsteps to protect those further down the line after all it was the only thing she could promise the future. That she could only promise to her children, and their children. Her friends children would get the same, her friends would get the same. She would do everything she could. So when she found that she had a swath of forms, in the region of seventeen to eighteen? She spent the time once she was recovered pushing herself; pushing every fiber of her being higher and higher for as long as she was able. After all she could come back from each break stronger than she was before. Stronger than she could ever be. She would force herself to find every intricate want and desire in every form and make it hers beyond belief. She would be what she needed to be and what she wanted to be. So day in and day out she would come back to this place that she trained in. That she would continue to train in. In whatever form that she found fitting at the time. It was noon now, she had been here for almost six hours already. Cutting into dummies and breaking things that needed to be broken. Limits of her own and phases of her own on her own time. But it would never just be for her own. It would never be for her own. So when her form burned brightly; so did her presence. Her presence that had made itself known near whitewater now made itself known a good chunk away from the library. It was something of danger that many would not know; but it wasn't hostile. It wasn't malicious. It had drive, it had purpose. But those that would wander near would find themselves engulfed by silence. Engulfed by the single most heartfelt key she had. She would continue this for as long as she physically able. Only falling to a knee after an hour of this practice. Breath ragged and true in her bossom as silent as it was. Thankful to the knowledge that She had attained a form further than that of the knight she had sworn to be under study of. She had finally found the strength again to take up the mantle of OmegaShutmon.

If there was anything good you could say about either Dio or Carlos it was that, despite appearances, they were pretty damn resilient.
Case in point: after no more than a couple days of rest (and some help from a certain cat with a medical license) had been enough for the duo to heal completely from their injuries sustained during the attack on the Library. At least physically speaking. That last fight against something far more stronger than them had...brought up some rather bad memories for the both of them, but especially for Dio. And while the feeling of the electricity coursing through his body paled to what he had felt during that week, it was still more than enough to keep him from having a good night's sleep during said rest.
And yet...after it was all said and done they felt compelled to go look for her. To face that digimon one last time. Even after the attack, after all the pain she had caused them both then and other times they still chose to look for her willingly.
Why was it? To straighten things up? To enact revenge? Whatever the case, not even they seemed to fully know. But it was something they had both agreed on as early as that morning, and without saying another word to anyone they had left the Club's base and headed out into the woods just outside where the moving Library was parked.
They walked for what couldn't have been much more longer than half an hour, not saying a word, not daring to disturb the downright disturbing silence of the forest. Not a bird was chirping, not the leaves of the trees made a single sound. It was almost unnatural how quiet things were.
Too quiet.
Feeling anxious thanks to this dead silence the man turned to face his partnet, opened his mouth to say something, anything if it meant breaking this tense silence. But no sound came from him...and not for a lack of trying. He'd try to yell, scream, trying to make any sound, to no avail. All he accomplished was making his throat feel sore. It was almost as if they had gone deaf, but that couldn't be the case, they were perfectly capable of hearing just five minutes ago! After a while of futile attempts both of them gave up and eventually proceeded down the path, hoping if they were to find K that she'd be open for a talk...and perhaps that they would find a way to communicate soon.
It didn't take long for them to reach their destination, even if it wasn't an easy thing to do. The complete lack of sound was dissorienting for both man and mon, to say the least, the man almost tripping repeated times along the way, the imp holding on to his leg to try and keep balance.
But with enough perseverance they made it to a clearing in the greenery. And there she was, the one digimon that had changed them both in many, many ways many times over. She looked bigger, bulkier. She was clearly on a higher evolutionary state. But there was no mistaking her. They knew that was K.
Of course, since greeting her traditionally was out of the question it was Carlos who took some hesitant steps foward, Dio walking close to him, never once taking his eyes away from K's position.
The man gently tapped her shoulder, before taking a couple steps back. Just in case.

To most she would look exhausted, to most she would look weak. But that was far beyond what the truth in the matter was. She was elated, she was alive, she was the one in control finally. There had been so many cases of her being controlled by others that it started to feel like the norm. She was the one feeling the dirt beneath her feet, frozen as it were.
She was the one running armored claws along the grass, a gentle wind of breath escaping from her as she enjoyed the sensations. Without that of hearing, without the deciding factor of sounds she had more elated senses. It was only natural but it was also strangely jarring.
It would take some time to get used to of course; but it wouldn't be simple it would be something she'd have to work on like everything else. She would of started to stand again, started to work on that dummies thick hide. But the touch of another jarred her out of the reverie of training. Her head slow by her standards turned to look at who may of approached her.
Recognition instantly flashed across her face. Knowledge that communication would be difficult like this. Without hesitation she de-digivolved to a more comfortable state. That of her regular shutmon form; cracking at her neck she'd stare quietly at the pair. She knew she had hurt them.
She knew she had hurt dio more than anything. Memories of that week had been easy to come by as the alter personality had been removed by that mark. So she was left with the fallout. She had wanted to talk to him about it; but honestly how was she supposed to? She'd exhale slowly as the sound of the area turned back to normal.
The birds sang, the wind blew and the trees shifted. The grass felt alive and sang in the wind. To those that had been without it for a short time it would feel overbearing for a few moments; so the Shutmon waited to speak. But when she did her voice was soft caring even.
"Carlos. You've come to talk. I presume about the attack."
Her eyes switched to Dio staring at him for a few moments.
"And you've come to talk about that tortuous period."

As she morphed back from that giant for of hers to a smaller, more familiar evolution, the duo could feel the sudden influx of sounds returning, taking them aback and dissorienting the human even further, Carlos clutching as his head lightly as the sound flooded his ears once more. Being deaf and suddenly not anymore wasn's the best of sensations.
Despite the general unease they had felt on their way to confronting the Apostle, most of it seemed to banish as soon as they exchanged glances again. It was easy to see in K's eyes that she harbored no ill feelings towards either one of them, even if less than a couple days ago they had been directly responsible for almost blowing her core all over the Library's outside.
Even so, her calm and caring gaze still had intensity behind it, or at least enough of it to affect Dio even before she said a single word. His eyes couldn't gaze back at hers for long, his stoic expression faltering as he looked to the side, the imp's face betraying a the large amount of conflicting feelings revolving around K. Pain, unease, worry, attraction...the small Dark Lord was still very much unsure on how to feel about this whole situation, though recent events made a good chunk of those feelings very negative in nature. Regardless, he didn't answer to K's inquiry, letting Carlos be the first one to take a step forward and talk.
"Yeah, that's mostly it." The white haired man replied with a not, sighing a bit before continuing with "In hindsight, I'm not too sure if I'll get any answers from here that I couldn't get back on the Library. The doc gave us a very simplified rundown of the situation...or at least how it was "controlled"." There had been a mention of a magical crystal to remove the mark controlling K's mind and body, but neither of them had much else to go on with.
"Are you feeling better?" He asked, partially out of genuine curiosity and worry, partially just for politeness' sake and to fill the awkward silence until the tall digimon gave her reply.

Honestly most would probably expect K to be pained by this sort of thing; that she would have some remnants of whatever beast had taken hold of her body and used it as theirs as they saw fit. The sudden influx of sound and such was probably far too much for her students if she could even call them that any more. She didn't rush them or berate them for that sort of thing. She was still trying to get used to it herself.
The shutmon could sense their unease; as much as it was until it started to fade as they looked to her eyes. Why would she bear them any ill will. Not once had they done a cruel thing to her. Not once had they struck her, broke her upon their back or cast her aside. They hadn't threatened her family or friends like she had. If there was anything they'd see from those eyes was a deep sadness.
A deep sense of regret.
She could feel that neither one of them knew how to talk to her; how to hold her gaze. Dio himself looked to one side and the shutmon let out a small earnest sigh. She didn't know what to tell him really; sorry wasn't going to cut it and explaining it would take a long time. Time that she had. She knew of everything she had done to him, knew of every feeling save one. She'd flick her ears a bit and stare at Carlos when he spoke.
"I'll give you a someone better explanation. A wisemon, one that I knew from ancient times and good at manipulation threatened my family but told me he wouldn't bother my family if I did one thing for him. But he used that thing to lower my guard and place a mark on me that would restrict my ability to hurt him along with a few other things. After something else he had me do which I'm not... I don't remember everything very clearly. But I told him I wouldn't attack the library and after that he applied a secondary stronger mark. Which lead to my mind being controlled by a second personality. Which lead up to the Examon incident in whitewater and the incident in the library."
The shutmon placed a hand to her head and grimaced in irritation.
"I am better now. But the ease that people seem to be able to control me or my body is... incredibly worrying. Dark rings, Alternate personalities, Marks. I'm going to have to start investing in something that fights or halts that sort of thing. Find someone that might be able to provide training to further steel my mind."
She'd close her eyes and sigh a little bit gently tapping her goggles on her head. The strangest part about this form was that the natural Shutmon goggles had changed into the hackmon ones in order to go along with the hood.
"What of you two? I know I probably hurt the both of you with my attack have you... Recovered from that?"

"Yeah that...does seems to happen rather often." Carlos commented, forcing a rather awkward sounding laugh, being at a genuine loss of what to say. It was true, K seemed like a rather easy digimon to control, either externally or internally, and the outside forces wanting to take advantage of that were rather worryingly abundant.
Really, knowing that he couldn't help but feel...sad for K. As much as he wanted to blame her for what had happened, this really was something outside of her control in more ways than one. Not only had she been blackmailed and bossed around, she had been literally stripped from her free will. "I'm...sorry K."
He knew things had gone badly for her thanks to Mikemon's first briefing but...he wasn't aware it was this bad. Carlos nodded sadly as she recounted this events but Dio...kept staring away, his expression unchanging. But anyone could have noticed on closer inspection there was more to it, as he not only was gripping the scarred part of his neck, he was practically clenching it on his hand with great strenght and anger. And this only became more pronounced as K addressed them, asking if they had healed after their last battle.
"Well you...did cause us some burns but the Doctor fixed us up pretty easily." He reassured, intentionally downplaying the amount of injuries her attacks had caused. Really, Carlos in particular was damn lucky he had been struck so few times and never directly, els he would probably not had survived the fight. But K didn't need to hear that, she needed some positive thinking. He turned to his side, looking at his so far silent partner in search of reassurement. "Right Dio?"
"What does it look like." Was what the imp replied, finally looking back to the group, his expression now no longer one lacking emotion, far from it. There was nothing but pure, sheer disdain in his voice and face as he spoke up again. "I can't see my injuries, but I can still feel the burn enveloping my body. The energy seeping into me and burning me from the inside out. And it...hurts." He left that last word hang in the air, as he stared down at the tall digimon. "But we're all healed, so I guess that makes it all better now, right?"

"That it does. Which is why I'm working on something to limit that or remove it."
The shutmon frowned a little bit and gazed quietly at the human as he awkwardly let out a small laugh. Trying to seem as though it was okay in some manner or another; but the worry of that fact was still abundantly clear. If people could control her with this ease, what was the point of her having this power. She'd grit her teeth a little bit and turn her head looking somewhat irritated but saddened.
"It's not your fault so you don't need to apologize for it."
She wasn't aware of what exactly mikemon had told them; but it had been enough to get them to help out in the library. The Shutmon closed her eyes and let out a somewhat uneasy sigh. She was glad that they had healed up from the attack in some fashion or another but... It didn't excuse her for what she did.
"That..."
Her ears flicked a little bit and she felt her fur bristle as she could feel the emotion just pouring off of Dio. It made it hard to look at him; hard to admit she was in the wrong here but she simply just was. The shutmon put a hand to her head and tugged down her hood a bit to hide the fact she was tearing up. Though it did a poor job of doing so. She'd grit her teeth and one of her blades clicked in frustration as it seemed to want to do something.
"No. No it doesn't and I don't expect it to get any better any time soon. I'm fully aware of what I did and that still doesn't make it any better."
There wasn't the normal level of passive that the shutmon seemed to omit, that even when she was a renamon was able to omit such a gentle aura. but this one was of frustration and anger. But there was such an overwhelming sadness that poured over those two feelings like a tsunami that they might as well of been non-existent.
"It's not something that can just get better on it's own. Not something I can do anything to fix; because I did more than hurt you."
There was a long silence that followed and the shutmon gripped her fists tightly; drawing out streams of data from her palms that dripped down onto the ground. There was a small growl and she'd stare at Dio; she'd close her eyes and resign herself to a single sigh.
"But you wouldn't come this far just to say something so simple. You wouldn't come so far just to be emotional at me. You wish to do something don't you?"

"I know it's not but..." He sighed, trying to find the right words was rather hard. There was so much he and Dio wanted to say but it was just so difficult to properly convey into words. "I guess I'm just sorry we can't do more to help out, is all."
And as much as Dio hated to hear it, there were truth in K's words. There was little she could do to help him ease the pain, help him fix all the broken pieces. And indeed, there was a reason for him to be here. But right now it was obscured, forgotten, buried under a dark cloud of anger and fear. Her words, perhaps unwillingly so still cut him deep, not because of her intent but rather how true they were. She could always read him like a book. It was almost impossible for him to keep anything from K. And that...hurt. It hurt being put in the spotlight like this. And...for a moment, all Dio craved for was to share that pain with someone. Anyone. Someone else had to feel just a fraction of what he felt.
And there was only one person here that needed to understand that better than him...
"Shut. Up." With little to no warning, the imp's fist would catch on fire and would strongly collide against the Shutmon's lower chest. And it would do so again. And again. "Stop talking like you understand what I'm thinking!"
He knew how futile this was, he knew she would barely feel anything from it. He didn't care, he just kept punching. Every fiber of his being, every ounce of his built up stress, pain and anger went into each of those punches. He kept punching as his flames slowly died out and faded, even as his own fists started to ache, even while the tears kept slowly dripping from his eyes.
Only much later, once he had finally exhausted his energy did he stop, now heaving and panting, eyes locked on the ground beneath them. Once he was able to look back at the Shutmon in the eyes, what the former teacher would see in them would have none of the intensity from the previous outburst, yet all of the pain was still there.
"...why?! Just why?! Was it because of how I felt for you?!"

K let out a soft somewhat silent sigh and simply nodded her head at what carlos had to say. Honestly it was something she needed to approach herself and if she could find a way of making it happen... well. The sooner the better, it was part of her reason for training and for steeling herself. If she pushed hard enough maybe she'd get there.
K's silence continued when Dio told her to shut up, her mouth opened a fraction as though she wanted to say something but the sudden attack to her lower chest simply brought her attention further down to watch dio's face. She could feel each punch, it was like a child punching an adult in scope of power but... it wasn't that, it was the emotions that followed that she could just feel pushing out of the imp.
K felt her heart catch in her throat when she saw that look, she wanted to say something. Anything to make this hurt go away, then he took it a step further. Asking if it had been because of how he felt for her; it took all of a moment for everything to click. The shutmon's expression shifting slightly, softening immensely. Though a moment later she kneeled down, and without saying a word she'd hug him tightly to her chest a hand coming around to cradle the impmon's head against her.
Just how could she explain herself, what she felt and what she knew? It wasn't her that tortured him so in the woods, that was a monster all apart. Birthed from the fierce data of a meicrackmon and that of the dokugamon that almost killed her. But it wasn't easy to put into words, that version of herself had targeted him because of their connection. She could feel her core pulse, she could feel it reach out to try to comfort dio... If he took hold of that energy and feeling who knew what could happen?
I...

REally this whole situation was nothing short of tragic, so much so Carlos could only look away biting his lip in frustration. He wanted to say something, anything to help, but he knew there was nothing he could add to this, they had to work this out between the two.
As for Dio? He didn't have much time to do anything after his sudden outburst, as without warning K would just...reach out for him and hug him tightly. It quite frankly completely blindsided him, the imp for a short moment feeling more surprised than anything as he found himself in the gentle embrace of the tall digimon.
The surprise didn't last long, soon once again replaced as the imp's expression turned not angry nor hateful...but merely sad. Sad and confused.
"I---I..." He couldn't understand, even after showing her his anger, his spite and pain time and time again, even after attacking her she simply refused to turn away.
Why?
For a moment it seemed as he would try to break away, kick her once again in an attempt to refuse her hug but...he didn't, or perhaps he couldn't. The small digimon did nothing to try to get away. Quite the opposite.
With the utmost care he'd slowly wrap his own arms around the Shutmon's back, tightly gripping her into a hug of her own as he pressed his face against her chest. Salty tears streamed down Dio's face, soaking both himself and K's fur.
"I don't hate you...why can't I hate you?" He muttered. "...why are you making it so hard for me?"
It was clear that despite everything that had happened, deep down the imp's opinion for K was...rather unclear, surprisingly. Memories of pure agony deeply intertwined with those of joy and bliss. And now? He could only feel an incertain warmness emanating from her, from this very moment in time. And for a short moment he almost felt at ease. Calm. Happy.
It was almost as if his very core wanted to burst out and reach out for K's...and he could feel she was the same. And as such in a moment of curiosity, he'd feel himself reach out for the power that the Shutmon seemed to be wrapping around the two.
"I..."

How could he understand, how could he understand how it felt to fail a student. How it felt to take someone you trusted and throw that into the trash, how it felt to her that she had been forced to watch in some semblance as he was tortured. It was a hell watching that, she didn't recall it until so much later that it felt like a different life. She felt beyond sorry and couldn't do anything about the fact. At his question the shutmon's ears flicked and she'd gingerly rub the back of the impmon's head, trying to comfort him as she could feel her fur getting soaked by his tears.
"Because hate is not everything in your heart, and as much as it burns for you the more you want to feel something else. No amount of sorry or forgive mes will ever suffice."
She'd scrunch her eyes shut and she could feel his emotions quite clearly. There was uncertainty, hatred, confusion, happiness, such a mish mash of emotions coming from the imp all she could do is push forward that warmth of hers. That calmness and happiness she could push forward with all of her might. She could feel that latch between the two of them...
and then in a burst of a bright digital light the two separate beings became one. Their form rippling and entwining with one another to become something new. Something different. Something that thought together, bled together, lived together, wept together. Their hands, their feet, their ears, their core, their everything. Eyes blinked, dubious and such. The horned head lifting to look about, as though a sense of a thousand beings worked in tandum. A togetherness unlike anything else. A being unlike anything else. A curious single word coming out of their lips, singing in their voice.
They were together in this sense, but so far apart. There was unity but there was also idetinty of one another. A whole new being, a whole new creature, that of which was one but all of everything they ever could be. They didn't move for a moment. That single word seeming to echo out, a pair of names met together. Making a single unified statement.
"Kio?"
The look of confusion crossed their face, they could feel that looming uncertainty. But there was also the case of feeling their cores becoming heavily entwined with one another. Latching onto one another as though refusing to let go. The powerful emotions that they held for one another making the form marvelously stable.
Carlos on the other hand, would of course notice the sheer burning bright feeling that his digivice gave off. Something beyond what a single digimon could give. Such a burning feeling couldn't be kept on it's own and if the young tamer wasn't careful he too would get caught up in the emotions of these two mon's becoming a single entity.

She was right. As usual, it didn't matter what the imp thought, or how he felt about it, or how much it hurt both him, his pride and his everything: he couldn't bring himself to hate her. Worst still, deep down he wanted to forgive her...but his pride wouldn't let him, and he was all too aware of that.
He would have tried to work up the courage to say...anything, really, before that light enveloped them both...
Light.
...A warm and soothing light. A calm, never ending emptiness that felt alien yet welcoming. But most importantly, happiness. That was all that surrounded Dio right now, not so much his body but his entire self found itself lost in a sea of tranquility.
The impmon was in quite a bizarre oxymoron of a situation, to say the least. His fragmented psyche didn't seem entirely aware of what was happening around him, and yet his core felt perfectly at ease regardless, as if it was just another normal state of being, like going to sleep.
"What...?" Scattered thoughts of confusion fluttered around and out of Dio's very core, getting lost in the never ending sea of light that surrounded him. Despite not really knowing what to make of his surroundings he could tell he wasn't alone. How could he, since both he and K were so intertwined with eachother it would not be a stretch to say they were one singular being now.
"K, where...what happened...?" He asked again, still trying to get his bearings. "What happened to us?"
On the outside and far removed from that plane of consciousness was Carlos, asking himself that very same question over and over again as his eyes barely blinked, never looking away from the...creature that was now before him. Neither Dio nor K were anywhere he could see or feel, it was just him and that odd digimon. Yet he didn't seem so much alarmed as he was mostly just taken aback, unsure what had just happened. One second his partner and his close friend were embracing, the next one they were gone.
"Kio?" He repeated aloud, just as confused as the digimon. "Is...that your name?"
While he was very much uncertain as to where this creature had come from...judging by the nearly blinding and greately intense light emanating from his own digivice he could at least deduce the two were linked somehow. Could it possibly be that...this creature had come from the two digimon's joining together into one? Carlos shook his head, that was too much of a reach. But then again, what if it wasn't? Digimon were a bizarre bunch after all.
"Is that you guys?" He asked hesitantly, taking a careful step towards it. What would he or the creature do afterwards? He didn't know, but he was going to find out very soon.

It did matter to her how he felt, because to her he was certainly more than a friend. She cared for the impmon deeply and wished for forgiveness not just from him but from herself. She had hurt him beyond words, even if it hadn't been her she was still responsible. That made it so that she had to fix it, had to take steps. Had to talk, even if she didn't want to. But she did, she wanted to have this dear friend be healed again...
It wasn't a surprise that he'd get lost in that alien feeling, it was hard for her to concentrate on both the in's and outs of what was now a shared host of a body. A strange sensation that not once had she ever felt. Turning their hands over she'd stare down, contemplating what was going on. What was, what had happened and what their combined self would be.
"...Dio...?"
She could feel him warped together in their being, tightly knitt with her energy. Their form was a collective of them both becoming one simply put. It was hard to really tell where she began and where he ended. The mixed digimon placed a hand on their snout and concentrated lightly. Trying to make a little more sense of things in there.
"We became one I think. I've... read some stuff about this. I think it's called DNA digivolution. It's... very rare."
There was an exasperated but excited sound to her voice and the warmth seemed to increase just a bit. The impmon could easily feel her presence as he felt his own, though it was more directed at comforting the impmon than anything else.
However on the outside she'd also have to deal with the tamer that was now just as confused as they were. A great horned head turned and the form brought a hand up to their snout, rubbing at it quietly.
"Yes and No. We are simply one, but we're separate at the same time. We said our names at the same time and... that's what came out of it. Perhaps it would be better for a form to have a name like that. Oddly fitting don't you think?"
The digimon leaned and stepped forward, a single digit coming down to gently tap at that digivice. It'd blink lightly and consider something for a moment, searching both of their memories for information regarding this.
"We became one. So... I should be a royal We? Perhaps? It's hard to tell."
A small but excited huff followed suit and the 'demon' shifted it's stance lightly. It held out it's hand, offering the human the chance to at least feel out the digivolution a bit. It probably would be a bit strange but there were steps for this.
"This is hugely confusing. K would think that the more likely candidate for this sort of thing would be her husband. Dio would be more likely with someone of his... heritage? That or perhaps someone more close to him than a teacher that failed him."
There was a long pause and the digimon considered something again, clasping it's hands together as it knelt for it's 'tamer'. There was a thoughtful look crossing it's face rather quickly and before all too long it's wings would settle in.
