She had said two weeks.
She had meant two weeks.
It had been two weeks and not only was she gifted with something she wasn't expecting. She was gifted with a tower that to her was more of a fortress than anything she had honestly expected. The halls and rooms of which felt so homely that she wasn't sure how she would leave this place when it came down to it. It wasn't lavish, it wasn't luxurious by any means but it was something very important.
It was hers.
It was theirs.
It was something she wouldn't trade for anything short of her family. If you had asked her she would of gladly watched this place burn to save them. Places could be rebuilt; family? Friends? You could never replace those. So here she spent her time tracing the walls and taking in every room to get the run of the place.
She had spent a day doing so already after all; enjoying it and wishing to herself that it could be bigger. So it could hold the dreams of the future that she had too. Else she would just constantly be at odds with herself and it. IT was the one thing that she had to look forward to was expansion... that and seeing her children again tonight.
The shutmon took a seat in what amounted to the great entrance to Vander tower. For now she was alone; as she had sent word to Luke and Iko to come here. She had sent word to her husband about this place; giving him the coordinates and wishing she could give him access to the home portal here. She had several things she needed to give Iko and Luke already. Hopefully they wouldn't mind the fact that both of the upgrades would have to be in their digivice...

K wasn't lying about the ground coordinates being worthless.
Truthfully, Luke had already been here once before - three days before it finally took to the sky - to take a look through some of the more complicated parts of the electrical. However, that simply couldn't compare to the grandeur of seeing this place not only completed - but successfully in the skies above Rosewood. The excavated area below had even already been filled in and revitalized by the Cherrymon that had watched them over, giving this its own allure. A floating island, but one of nature and ruggedness rather than the absolute clear 'richness' of Luminas' marble.
As Luke and Iko made their way down the central path, they found the air far fuller, and far warmer than they had expected, the tamer already tossing his jacket over his shoulder as the pair made their way towards the tower. This time, both of them wore a somewhat-sagging backpack, ready to set up their own room as K's first proper recruits. "... She really put a lot of thought into this. From the outside, it would be hard to tell if there was more than a shed hiding here." Luke gave a nod, and Iko a whistle, as they finally made it to their location.
Vander Tower. Iko opened up the doors as Luke stepped on in, the echo of their footsteps carrying through the building. It was fresh, new... and, at the moment, quiet. "Um... hello? K?"

K fidgeted a little bit; she wasn't sure how long it would take the first two individuals that she had invited into the Knights to get here. She also wasn't sure if they actually had any forms that could fly. She had to admit to herself that she was a touch nervous about those facts.
She had put a lot of effort into making this a reality; making sure everything lined up. Calling in every favor she had with people; calling in some folks she thought to be dead and weren't. Talking to her father's friends of all people to see if any of them could help or were willing. While a lot of them were skeptical once she explained with both bits and her plans for the group most if not all of them buckled.
But then came the drastic issue that she had pretty much exhausted any reserve she had for making improvements for the mean time. She had done so much to get thing set up for the knights she hadn't considered the cost of maintaining them immediately. But if push came to shove she could buckle down and take some jobs to at least get bits flowing into this place.
At least the pantry is stocked, we have plenty of natural things to grow our own food...
The shutmon's head jerked a bit when she heard the echo of footsteps and the greeting that came with it. Grinning from ear to ear she'd hurry to where she could not only hear them; but their scents made this place a touch more bearable with their familiarity.
"Glad to see the two of you again; didn't have any problems getting up here?"
The more she thought about it the more that they needed to have a sit down and talk about things. She turned a little bit and gestured towards the inside. Figuring that at the very least they'd want to sit or something.
"I figure you two will probably want to poke around some more now that the place is actually up and running. And there's a few things we also need to go over but I don't think that'll be a problem~"

It didn't take more than a few seconds from Luke's word before their host in question came into view. As the Shutmon greeted them at the door, the tamer returned a smile of his own, a half-bow given at her introduction. "Not at all - the portal coordinates set themselves up rather nicely. Still, probably better to get synch'd up to this place sooner rather than later?"
K had that much right, at least. As the wolf mentioned 'poking around the place', Iko gave a small lift of his shoulder, motioning to the bag slung across his back. "Well, somewhat, at least. Luke's having me drag all this stuff around to properly set up our room - so I guess the first thing is to see the living quarters?" At the very least, it would let them get the excess weight off of their back! If K led the way, the two would follow along towards the back of the Tower...
... And honestly, Luke was quite curious about this place as it was. "Building material aside, how hard was it to get the permit for this place? I've seen how these things are priced around Luminas, and getting one in private jurisdiction... sheesh." Those prices! As Luke asked about the 'mundane', Iko almost found himself rolling his eyes. "Guess I should ask, have you had any luck contacting anyone else? I'd offer a few, but they're committed to other teams at this point..."

The shutmon gave them both a smile and felt a touch out of place at the half bow she was given. It took her a fleeting second to realize that yes; most individuals that came from the human world were based in japan. So of course they'd use the same greeting here even if it seemed odd. Rubbing her muzzle the shutmon glanced back to the inside of the team's base.
"You have that right, I'm still trying to get used to the place. With any luck it won't take too long."
K sighed a bit and then raised her brow to the bag that was slung over the wolf's back. Leaning to give ita look she'd dip her head in a nod. The living quarters? The shutmon took a moment to go over the layout of what she knew was where in her head and gesture in the appropriate direction before leading them to their own quarters....
"Each knight will have their own quarters, I made sure of that. None of them are furnished past bare necessities as I wasn't sure what people would want. So if you have a desire for it just bring it along into them. Since there's two of you; there's two beds, dressers, etc etc..."
The shutmon gestured to each item in question and gave a start however when asked about the permit. She'd get a somewhat odd look on her face which was followed by a slow excessive sigh.
"Next to impossible. But a few people I know, knew how to pull the strings in the right places. That and.. well. A lot of past favors or future ones; don't worry they're more or less required of me and none of the knights. I made sure of that."
This place had been built quickly; effectively and quietly through mix of brawn, technology and a few pieces of magic here or there. The shutmon rubbed her muzzle again however when iko asked about if she had managed to contact anyone else.
"Just one at the moment, A Seraphimon by the name of Oathgard. He'll be one of the guardians of Vander tower while the knights proper are out and about. Though he'll be able to come with us when we have more guards or the like... I appreciate that; why not see if they'd be willing to work with us in the future? They don't need to be knights to be allies of ours."

"So, really, you mean there's two dressers for Luke."
Honestly, Iko couldn't help but give a chuckle at that. Even for the Digimon that did wear clothes, it was generally tied to the form (and even in K's case, could be summoned or dispelled at will). Luke, meanwhile, rolled his eyes at his partner's tired joke. "Much appreciated. It won't take long for us to settle in. And, huh..."
The island was that hard to set up? Well, it made sense, of course - it was honestly amazing that she was able to pull it off at all! "Well, I hope you didn't promise more than you could handle. If you need, Iko and I could probably help with some of that?"
"Honestly depends," the wolf gave a shrug, as the group arrived at their living quarters. "Group or not, appearances are still a thing - and a holy Renamon showing the mark of a Knight might be able to get by with reputation alone. In certain circles, anyway."
Luke returned a small shrug at that, opening the door to what was - as K had already described - a bare-bones and simple room. Well, it was at least a place to drop off the bags, the Ankomon already tossing his right on the bed. So they had one other taker so far - and it was a Seraphimon of all things? Iko couldn't help but arch his brow.
"Dark Area, then Luminas? You trying to get a member from each province, or something?" That was the correlation that Iko picked up off a whim, but it didn't seem entirely right. As Luke checked out the furniture - seeing the closet and drawer space they had to work with - the wolf gave a sigh. "We'll make it work, don't worry. Luminas just isn't the most comfortable place for me... for obvious-enough reasons."

"Some mon's like wearing human clothing? I wasn't sure if you were one of them; but two dressers for luke means he can plan to be in one place longer yes?"
The shutmon gave a shrug; peering into the room in question. Her face was rather thoughtful and she had to admit she liked the simplicity of things. Kneeling down the shutmon also took a look at the few outlets she could see with a wry grin.
"Going to have to test that later... But that's good. I didn't promise more than service and protection. Along with relying on them for wares for a certain span of time; some just wanted favors or wanted to get rid of my favors. I couldn't promise more than what I had and most of them are aware of the things I'm capable of so they can rest more assured. But if something seems up your alley I'll be sure to ask."
The shutmon turned her head to look at iko as he spoke about the 'mark' and the 'reputation'. Other than the mark she wasn't sure whatt her reputation really was; she didn't know the whispers or the problems that came up from her. Looking somewhat uncertain she'd sigh.
"It'd help knowing what sort of reputation I have first. If it's a bad one people will be less willing."
She'd pause and turn to look at Iko; there was a somewhat more flat than usual look on her face as he seemed to be surprised about it. Then he even gave what she may be trying to do. Giving an earnest sigh she'd shake her head before gesturing upwards.
"Having one from each province would make us more balanced and ready yes. But I'm not one to turn down help when offered. Don't worry about luminas; I'm not a fan of them or their people and wouldn't force anyone here to deal with them unless comfortable with them. Thankfully Oathgard will be the one dealing with them if it comes down to it; Angel to Angel you know?"
If only that was the real case...
The shutmon rubbed her muzzle looking around the room before easing out of it figuring they'd want a little time to put things away. She'd start counting off things on her large fingers looking rather thoughtful.
"Medical bay, research lab, Barracks, Kitchen, Armory, Communication hub, Communication array.. Home portal room, storage area... There's a lot to still show you two."

"Well, if its really that much of a thing..." Really, Iko didn't know of any Digimon who elected to wear more than 'what they came with', but to each their own? And as for the jobs, Luke simply returned another nod. They'd help out if they could, of course!
As Luke set his bag aside, Iko gave a half-shrug, as well as a nod, towards the Shutmon. "I'll be fine. And I'm sure you know already, but if you're going to get such a wide 'cast', well, there'll be both friction and disagreement within the group. We might put more ideas onto the table, but you'll have to put your foot down more to resolve conflict." That seemed reasonable enough, actually...
... And as K spoke of the other rooms in the Tower, Luke's attention perked up. "Well, we might as well get right down to it? We can honestly set up this room at any time, and it would take me a while to unpack, anyway."
"Well, maybe if you didn't bring half an engineering kit with you?" Iko chuckled, the tamer rolling his eyes, before the two would return their attention to the Shutmon. "But getting a general idea of how rooms here are organized will be a good help. Just seeing it from the outside, well, it does seem fairly easy to get lost!"

"I mean I had to wear some dresses for when I had burns covering my body but that's more a special case to not worry customers at the time. That and it's not terribly uncommon to find digimon that like them; at least in terminus from what I've been made aware of."
The shutmon rubbed her muzzle thoughtfully. There were plenty of things that she could wear in every form other than the super megas. Could you imagine how much cloth would have to go into making something for Examon? The shutmon gave a smooth chuckle and leaned against the wall her head tilting just a bit.
"I'm aware of it, any good group won't run perfectly. They'll have arguments and developments from it. I'm willing to do so trust me. Not everyone's going to be happy or doing what they want either."
K flicked her ears and noted that the human was much more enthused about exploring the tower than Iko seemed to be. But perhaps it's just because of the way he reacted. She'd dip her head in a small nod and give a small grin as he said it'd take him a while to unpack.
"Well where to first is a good question isn't it? Since we're already on the ground floor it'd be easier to start for what's here. Barracks, kitchen, and some storage. Each floor has the latter in some regard or another."
The shutmon gestured towards down the hall. Figuring that if they agreed that she'd just go ahead and show them that. Unless they had a more specific locale in mind. After all each knight would have some kind of preference wouldn't they?
"The armory has it's own floor for safety reasons; the communication hub is basically at the top floor nearest the communication array. The home portal is right underneath that. There's also a lot of empty space for expansion and such or if we need to make a room take up multiple floors in case of.. well growth. The medical bay has it's own floor, as does the research lab."

"Quite the extensive set-up, isn't it?"
Though Luke might have been more interested, Iko was still quite surprised, more at the scale and grandeur of this Tower than anything else. The time and resources that must have gone to putting this place together must have been exhaustive - she had spoken about favors before, but what was K supposed to do if this all turned over on its head - or, worse, if the Tower simply collapsed under the weight of the first attack?
Well, it was too late to worry about that now: she was invested in the Knights of the Rose, and had clearly put 'all of her chips' onto the table. Following the Shutmon down into the hall, Luke listened as K explained the facility's functions. Communication, home portal, kitchen, barracks - sure, those all made sense, the base for any team. But a proper medical bay? A research lab? At those, Luke couldn't help but give a blink. "You sure you're able to support all that? I mean... how would you get the staffing for all that?"
"Rent out the rooms, maybe? No, too secluded for that..." The wolf was thrown a bit off by it as well. It was impressive, sure, but could such a group really make the best use of everything?
"... I knew you were serious from the start, but aren't you concerned that this is a bit... too much?"

"You could say that yes."
K had really put her all into this place, pulling everything she could for almost every single thing she could think of. The medical bay and research lab would save lives, the communication, home portal, kitchen and all of the others would find their uses as time passed. Flicking her ears she'd pause and turn her head giving a small smile.
"I'm sure. As far as staffing goes I've got a few people that have agreed to do work in the research lab and medical. They're not pariah's in their fields but they do just small general work. They owe me a few favors and once those are gone they'll likely want pay."
The shutmon paused and flicked her ear again turning her head slightly and wagging a finger softly that grin she had early splitting her features. The shutmon had plans for that actually.
"I have an Aegisdramon that works for me. Once he's recovered he'll be running deliveries and supplies between cities. Doing clean up of bandit groups from afar. Stuff he's comfortable with."
The shutmon paused again and turned her head shaking it slightly at that last question.
"Not in the slightest, I thought long and hard about this. Went through the paces to make sure that I was okay with it. The two biggest problems were the research and medical labs. But... Once we've got our name out a bit more; I know a few groups that would like to make sure we succeed."
The shutmon looked down at her hands and clenched them giving a somewhat frustrated growl.
"If not? We'll make due with what we have, what we can. We have all the tools and just need resources which just means doing what we can to make things right as we make things meet. Not in a bad way mind you; or in a twisted sense. But in the right way with the right people. Terminus has a lot of bits and if we have to we can work with them for a bit while also protecting Rosewood. There's a lot of options to make things meet properly."
The shutmon then paused and awkwardly rubbed her muzzle.
"besides Joseph is already scouting out potential threats in the area's and sending them to our hub. In which I'll be double checking with the cities they fall under to see if there's jobs associated with them. If they do we take care of them, if they don't? Well. We still will do so but we won't have any other pay out than words."

Well, it was still a huge leap of faith, but at least K seemed to have a plan for it?
Honestly, her words alone didn't put Iko entirely at ease. The staffing she spoke of seemed temporary, first based off of favors and then probably a very limited supply of money. Resting his chin on the back of his hand, the Ankomon thought it through: "It'll... probably work, though with this much happening at once, we'll need to round up the rest of our potential knights rather quickly." With his short stint working in Whitewater, Iko had a fair amount of experience with this sort of economics. And right now, they needed members - Digimon and people who could increase this place's notoriety and keep the work flowing in.
"If that's the case, do you have anyone else in mind that you would hope to join us?" Iko's tone was genuinely curious, at that! "There's a few I know that are tied up with the Field Club... honestly, I wonder if Isaac might be interested?"
"Isn't he a bit wrapped up in his own issues to have time for something like this, though?" Really, Iko nor Luke really had many suggestions to put forth on their own! "Either way, I'm sure we'll come up with something."

K wasn't expecting any of it to be easy; she said she had plans and she meant it. Other than that there wasn't really much more she could say on the manner about it and she was fairly sure that wasn't enough to assure either of them that this was even going to work. Turning her head to look down the hall the shutmon found herself frowning a little bit.
"That was the plan. I've a few ideas how to attract people to this place and what it'll stand for."
The shutmon sighed a little bit and flicked her ears as Iko asked if she had any ideas. Unfortunately as far as it came to recruits the pair had been the only ones that she had thought of right off the bat. There were a few individuals that she thought could fit but the problem was that they already were a part of other teams and she couldn't take them away from that.
"The ones that I would of asked are already in groups of their own. I would like to work with other groups and the Field club is one of them. I know a good handful of individuals that are a part of it. They're good people. Who's this Isaac?"
The shutmon flicked her ears and stared at the wolf and his tamer. Her head turning slightly as Luke spoke. She'd rub her muzzle thoughtfully and furrow her brow slowly as the tamer seemed to think that the individual that iko had suggested was probably busy.
"The problem is the timesink, not everyone is going to be willing to be a knight but that doesn't stop them from being an ally or working with us in some value or another. I'd say talk to him about it if you can but don't pressure him too much if he can't."

She... didn't even have any others in mind, other than himself and this, well, 'Oathgard' that Iko had never heard of before? And yet the Shutmon had made this much of an investment already? The Ankomon seemed somewhat stunned by her admission, but, after a few moments, decided to give an answer to her first question: "He's an, um, spirit wielder. The element is 'dark' or 'chaos', and he has an Impmon line. Recently, he's been stuck in his spirit form, and I've been working with Dr. Mikemon in an effort to try and get him back."
"So his focus should be more on that, than in joining a job right now." Luke's answer seemed more conclusive, even if Iko still seemed to think that the spirit wielder might be right for the job. Maybe Elliot too, but he hadn't seen the Veemon-user in quite a while!
And yes, K's compromise seemed to work well enough. Luke gave a shrug as Iko gave a nod: "Until we're self-sufficient, we'll have to take outsiders on jobs and missions... anyway, enough of the politics." He gave a grin: "How about you show me the arena where I'll be tossing you around, every week?"

The shutmon's ear flicked, swiveled and faced the Ankomon in a somewhat thinly veiled surprise. She knew that mikemon had other patients and knew that they were probably special cases all of them. Furrowing her brow she gave thoughtful pause and dipped her head in a small nod.
"I agree. That's something I haven't heard before. Most spirit users I have ran into had their spirits be fairly active in one way or another but that's... surprising. I agree that his effort should be more focused on getting that figured out. Maybe once he's got that problem solved we can reach out to him?"
K ran a hand through her fur and frowned deeper; there were so many different problems that came from one thing or another. Just what had started that she had to wonder? She'd dip her head in a small nod as Iko seemed to agree with the idea of taking in outsiders for missions and such. It was something she didn't want to do all the time but as members started to join well... They'd slowly work into doing what they wanted rather than what they needed to do.
"It'll be an uphill battle that's for sure."
The shutmon quirked her brow at that grin Iko gave. Which was quickly followed by an amusing question. She'd chuckle softly and shook her head a little bit. Of course he'd want to know where that was! She'd gesture above them with a wry grin seeming somewhat amused with the way he asked that.
"Just one floor up actually. It's got shielding a lot like the Arena in Terminus but not as powerful until we get better generators. It should suffice up to ultimate as long as we're careful. Eager to have another go I take it?"
The shutmon gestured for the two to follow her figuring that Luke would probably want to see it for himself too. It wouldn't take very long as the stairs were just down the way. For a place that had been built as a tower it certainly seemed more like a fort with all the levels sectioned like this!
The arena itself? Well it was very similar to the arena from Terminus but there were a vast swath of differences. Firstly it seemed that the walls were just a touch higher which placed the audience a good ten feet more up as well as being just a little more spacious. There were even some lines in the ground that basically marked the separation of different areas. Meant for training multiple people rather than just focusing on one fight.
"Four separate sections with fifty feet of space each. I wanted to have this outside so it could be bigger but they suggested making it a floor in the tower with added shielding for anyone watching and for the structural support. It'll see a lot of use once we get more people I imagine."
