"We'll see. Honestly, everything might look quite a bit different by the time he wraps all that up."
Iko gave a sigh, more-or-less reaching the same conclusion that K had reached in regards to their potential new member. That aside, the job ahead of them was starting to grow more and more defined - and grow more and more daunting by the minutes. Thinking all of this through was starting to get to the wolf, so he needed a distraction.
The in-tower arena would provide exactly that. Climbing up to those stands, overlooking those four 'sections', Iko took a look down as K explained the set-up. It was designed to be used by large groups at a time - and, as K made it sound, could withstand the beating of multiple ultimate levels, simultaneously. Honestly, Iko looked as if he was about to go in there and test that theory, but he held himself, simply giving a nod from the stands.
"Outside might have been better for the 'feel' of it, but this'll work just fine."
"Looks well ventilated as well, so the place shouldn't heat up too bad." Luke piped in as well, taking a look through the ceiling, small grates set up at the corners. "With the cool air from the outside, well, its much better than running it in the basement. That said, why not on the roof?"
"Secrecy, most likely." Iko gave a shrug: "Besides, we're on a floating island. I'd rather a wall be able to catch us if we go flying!"

"True. Still here's hoping."
The shutmon gave a small shrug flicking her ears thoughtfully. Even if she wasn't able to recruit him... Well they would need allies a plenty wouldn't they? The world itself was a massive place and the only restriction that they had were the people they had to trust and people that they could get to trust them.
The shutmon leaned slightly on one of the walls staring quietly down at the arena. She remembered when this area was still getting lain out. The etemon's yelling instructions while machine types of all sorts scurried around getting things into place while magicians made sure that things were in place right with their magicks and math. The arena itself wasn't meant to be for amusement, it was meant to be for training. But for larger training bits they could claim the whole thing easily or ill benefiting that well.. They could take to the skies above.
"The plan is to have this be moved to a separate location once the tower grows into a fortress and our reach improves. The same construction crew agreed that they'd be willing to make improvements when we expand. So their handwork is all around and they know exactly what to do to make it as it should be. The ventilation was their biggest worry and they spent quite a lot of time on it. Though I can't help but worry."
The shutmon walked to the edges of the stands staring out at the empty area. She could feel the passion and energy here. She could feel the others that had been here still and those that would be in the future. This place wasn't just waiting for people to use it, it was demanding it. Desiring it; it was willing to see it's future for what it was and was loving it. The energy that the construction crew put into this place was something that brought a somber realization to the shutmon. Her ears flicked and swiveled towards the pair of them before a small smile spread across her features.
"A mix of secrecy and a mix of trying to sort things out. That being said..."
The shutmon turned her head looking a touch surprised at the wolf himself; a brow quirking slightly as she seemed baffled by something.
"Can you not fly Iko?"

"Move... a whole floor?"
That was what stuck out to the engineer. This expertly built arena, shielded and all, could so easily be relocated to the underground, or even just to another part of the tower? Luke rubbed his eyes, envious of the limitless pockets that seemed to be flowing here - just wishing that he could have taken a crack at this design job! As Luke seemed starstruck, Iko gave a sigh and a chuckle, moving to follow the Shutmon around the arena, idly rapping his knuckles against the edge of the energy barrier.
At K's question, Iko gave a pause. Could he not fly?
"Actually, none of my forms have the ability to naturally fly." Iko's response was casual: "In my ultimate and mega forms, I can create a temporary set of wings out from the shadows underneath me, which I can use to keep myself aloft. But I don't have the ability to 'fly' or 'float', not even through Super Mega." Was it that odd? The bit of surprise in K's face made it seem somewhat off...
"Not that many can fly up at this altitude, anyway. Outside of the vegetation, the air would be way too thin for anything except Luminas' elite to hold a comfortable pattern. Well, that, and anything with an actual, enormous wingspan..." He mulled that thought over, before giving it a shrug.
"I hope that's not a problem? Did you think we'd fly down to where trouble is, or something?"

"That was my response when I was told that by the lead Etemon. Seemed like he thought they could do that."
The shutmon shrugged looking somewhat bemused with the idea of moving this entire place to an outside portion instead of indoors. K's ears flicked a bit and she'd stare at iko with that rapping on the energy barrier. The pause that followed suit making her a touch concerned. The shutmon blinked a few times however when he did indeed mention that he for the most part was unable to naturally fly.
"That's somewhat rare, a lot of super mega's can fly naturally even with sheer force of their own will or something along that lines."
The shutmon blinked a few times further as he also made mention that not many could fly up to this place with the air being as thin as it was. There were a few things she hadn't thought of with the design of this place and that was one of them. Rubbing her head she'd give it a firm shake.
"While the base itself is capable of movement I wasn't expecting to use it for rapid deployment, but that makes me a touch worried if others might have an issue reaching it's safety or lofty heights if they lack the ability to fly."
The shutmon herself hadn't a single problem getting up here; she naturally in this form could run on thin air as if it were ground and with her cape well... Anything that did not have flight naturally was supplemented with it. She'd tug gently at the fabric with a soft frown.
"Might have to invest in a few transport type mon's down the line..."

"Well, instead, I'm a giant wolf who can command a shadow of an entire mountain to do my bidding. I think I'll make do without the wings." Despite the Shutmon's apparent concern, Iko couldn't help but give a bit of a chuckle at his own expense. Still, K did have a point:
Just how practical was his ability to get to a flying base? "We were able to use a portal to get here easily enough - and as I've said, I can fly in my Ultimate form." Iko did clear that up, but Luke shook his head: "And what will you do when you're so high that you can't cast a shadow? I'm pretty sure those things can't survive the sunlight forever."
"Again, that's what the portal's for." Sheesh, was he talking in circles? At any rate: "Point is, don't feel like you need to make any special arrangements for us. If necessary, I suppose we can hire a flying mercenary of our own... hm."
Something to think about. "But if you're concerned about fliers, are you only hiring megas and higher?"

"That certainly is something that most can't claim. I'm very much aware of your control over shadows. Had a few times where i was on the biting end of it remember?"
The shutmon snorted a little bit and leaned on the railing, running her hand along the barrier that shimmered not even a foot or two away from her. Scratching her neck she'd glance at Iko as he said that he was able to fly in his ultimate form.
"In a pinch we'll come up with something if the portal doesn't work."
The shutmon figured there were plenty of things they could use to do so. Shaking her head and rubbing her muzzle the shutmon would consider something for a few moments.
"I have a few ideas for who we could hire. I have a particular friend that could run transport for us if that because an issue. Would just have to get things written up for him. I'm not... feeling like I need to. I just like covering bases you know?"
The shutmon shook her head slowly at the question. If she hired only mega's and higher there would be little point for having sections of the group dedicated to different things.
"I'd like to hire different levels for different things. Rookies and champions for the spires, Ultimates and Mega's for these orbs until we find out more about them. I don't want to willy nilly throw people at the Reapers, so anyone capable of super mega is already sort of on my list for dealing with larger reaper threats as they come if they come. I have to think about training regime, teamwork sessions... so on and so forth. We also have to think about the regions themselves. It's also less hiring people and finding individuals that want to help; can help; and are willing to grow. What's better? A rookie willing to learn and grow or a super mega that's stingy and stuck in his or her ways?"
The shutmon tilted her head a little bit and let out a derisive snort.
"Sorry a little... much there. But. For simple terms. No. No I am not. But I want the two of you to do something for me once we get everything set up communication hub and getting you situated here."

Of course, K had put a lot more thought into this than Iko had. Heck, the Ankomon half-knew the answer before he asked; he simply wanted to put forth the point that expecting that everyone would have access to flight, was unrealistic from the start.
"Honestly, there's both a value to that Rookie and that Super Mega. I do know of a Stingmon very stuck in his own ways that still means good..."
"What, the cat's secretary?" Iko gave a chuckle at that, bumping his arm gently against Luke's own. "But so long as you understand. As much as you might want to think of alternatives, establishing a robust portal system is going to be the most important part of all of this, unless you want to hire an individual flier for each and every member of the team." That, of course, would be unnecessarily costly!
At the end, K put forth that question, Iko's ear perking up as the two gave a nod towards the Shutmon.
"Well, sure. What you need?" The response was simple, and curious!

The shutmon's ear flicked and she'd quietly stare out into the arena. Of course she had put a lot of thought into it; it was largely due to her effort that this place had even started. That this group had even started. It was a bunch of small steps that on it's own felt like a bloody journey.
"That's fair I suppose."
The shutmon scratched at her neck and then blinked a little bit however when Iko gave mention of a cat's secretary. The fact that luke mentioned a stingmon gave the shutmon a moment for thoughtful pause. She would of addressed that but it already seemed like things were moving past that little quip.
"There's a room with a separate grid above the communication hub. We could put a portal system there; I know a few people that could give us the parts for it but we'd have to build it ourselves."
The shutmon sighed and shook her head slowly. This was honestly probably a somewhat simple request of hers but she had to ask.
"Just a list of what you guys think this place could use or need. This place may be a fort but it's also a home you know?"
The shutmon clasped her hands a little bit and let out a small chuckle. There was a wry grin and she'd shoot Iko a glance.
"That and we need to figure out what days our spars are going to be. Can't fall out of rotation can we?"

'Build it ourselves', huh? Surely K meant hiring someone to try and pull it off, but Luke couldn't help but give a small chuckle at that proposition.
"Sure, I'll give it a go. Might take a bit to wrap my head around the programming, but if its a matter of installation, I should have a good hand at it." That alone was easy enough, but K's request? Well, it was far more vast than Iko or Luke first pictured, both seeming to blank on the spot, for just a moment.
"Honestly, that would be better served when we know what we already have. Though, sure, I think we can manage something of a list..."
"A dedicated repair line to our electrical generators are about all I can think of right now." Luke gave a shrug at his own admission. Hearing about the spars, Iko chuckled:
"Mondays and Thursdays, nice and late in the evening to allow the next morning to recover. And trust me, I'm not gonna let you fall behind on those."

The shutmon scratched her head a little bit and stood up from the railing stretching somewhat. She didn't like staying in one place or position for too long. Perhaps a natural part of her wanderlust but thankfully it had toned down as she had 'grown'.
"It'll be a matter of installation, the programming and parts will hopefully be easy enough. If it's too much I'll have to pull some strings to get it set up properly."
The shutmon stretched a little bit and quietly hummed nodding her head slightly as the both of them spoke. She wasn't expecting something immediately honestly and was somewhat pleased at the small suggestion luke had.
"I've got a list of things that we already have, kind of needed to make one for the construction crew to build you know? I'll send it up to your pad from my office hub. Hope the connections for that is stable... But a dedicated repair line should be easy enough to figure out."
She'd grin rather wolfishly at the idea of it being on mondays and thursdays. She had half expected it to be just once a week but hearing that it'd be two? Well that was enjoyable to think about. She liked the idea of fighting someone even if it was for practice; something from the warrior in her that much could be certain.
"Here I was expecting just once a week. But twice? Surprising to say the least. Isn't today monday though?"

"Better to have it now then when you need to fix something, at least with a remote place like this. Its not an easy place to get to if the lights go out."
Luke's response was given with a small nod at K's understanding... but it appeared that the topic was shifting to a different sort rather quickly. Why yes, it was Monday, wasn't it? Seeing the Shutmon's grin, Iko returned his own, giving a small roll of his shoulder. "Honestly, I didn't mean it like that, but I'm certainly not going to deny you if you want to go a round." Sheesh, he was already cracking his knuckles, ready to go!
To that, Luke simply gave a sigh: "Alright, Iko, I'm still going to need your help setting up the room. I'm sure you're not doing this just to have an excuse to crash on the bed for the rest of the day?"
"... Oh c'mon, let me have this one..."

"Very much so, I'll see what I can get my hands on. I know a few people that aren't tired of me dealing with them yet."
The shutmon let out a firm chuckle and stretched her arms a little bit. Figuring that if it was Monday that she could use something to limber up. The grin she gave was returned; though she didn't roll her shoulders in the same way she might as well of.
"I've got something to test out you might like."
She'd tilt her head a little bit and give a firm grin to the other. She had been working out on a lot of different things, both with the knights as a group and personal things. Exploring herself still further yet came with boons she wasn't fully used to.
"Don't worry Luke, I doubt he'll be that tired. Unless he wants to spar for a couple hours or something."
There was a barking laugh and the shutmon shook her head with a distinct laugh gesturing back towards where the stairs lay to take them to the 'ready' rooms. She would of course lead the both of them if they wished it to such a room which would connect to a hall that lead directly into the arena itself.
Once inside the shutmon would stretch a little bit; limber up quietly and look to her sparring partner for a few moments. Giving a small grin she'd roll her shoulders a few times. That simple light of digivolution, gentle and caring took form on her body. Her form would expand, shift and grow a lot more lithe than that of her shutmon's body.
Her hands would vanish, replaced with long and strong blades. Her mane would shfit and grow, her tail shortened and got simple and curled. Small bouts of shoulder fur would expand and her form would find itself into something much more 'fox' than wolf. Normally this type of digimon had pink and blue fur. But the stark white nature of K carried over; even her cape made a simple entry as a scarf.
She'd chuckle and balance her 'mouth blade' on her nose rather simply. She hadn't much practice in this form but it was something that she wanted to do. And if her sparring partner didn't mind the massive blades well...
"Self searching leads to a lot of places you know? Have to understand what's in then only can you understand what's out."
She seemed a little bit amused and took in her reach for a few moments. Testing the waters of a being that stood just a bit taller than simple buildings.
Why was it that some of her forms were so damn large?

Something to test out, huh? "Well, now you have me interested." He returned that grin, returning a chuckle to his sparring partner as he made his way towards the ring. That second comment earned just another remark from the wolf: "Tempt me with a good time, why don't you?"
Hoo, boy. All Luke could do was roll his eyes as he made his way to a spectator's seat, looking down as Iko and K positioned themselves on different sides of the ring. The Shutmon's surprise, as it seemed, was a different form entirely: one much taller than Shutmon, a pink 'bunny-cat' of some sorts with blades for arms and nails for claws. At that, Iko couldn't help but give a whistle - and offer a low chuckle of his own. Right, he had to assume his own ultimate form: stretching his arms up, a brief flash of light echoed around him, the golden armor of Shaininmon surrounding his frame.
"Don't know much about that, I have the same form to work with all the time. But... you do know being big against me doesn't help in the slightest, right?"
He looked down, motioning to the embarrassingly large shadow cast on the floor. "You give me way too much to work with."

"Do you really think you could spar for that long Iko?"
K snorted softly and shook her head; a wry grin on her face. To most that would see all of the variations of forms and such surprise was a constant. She had a surprising arsenal and a surprising amount of forms to keep up with. But for each one meant that she would spend less time in them as a whole... unless she practiced.
"It's not like I can account for everything in every form. Appropriately the other forms I have have more practice than this one. Oh. Trust me I'm aware that being larger doesn't help."
The Kyukimon would stretch and test the reach of her 'blades' with a few odd swipes here or there. She'd quietly tilt her head flipping around that mouth blade a few times before it neatly landed on the bridge of her nose.
"Not every fight is going to be fair, back and forth after all."
She'd eye the shadow that she cast on the floor; a brow quirking just a little bit. She'd glance up at the Shaininmon tilting her head ever so slightly.
"Would you prefer me to use something else? I can you know."
Honestly if he wanted her to she could easily just switch back to shutmon or go to her meicrackmon form. The latter of which just... always felt a touch odd to her. But it was something that she'd have to get used to eventually...

"Well, not in one sitting. Might need a medic."
Small joking aside, it seemed that K was, at least vaguely, aware of the bladed monster's weaknesses. The larger size was merely one part of it: such a long, unwieldy blade was another. Seeing her give the form a few test movements, Iko could already tell that she barely had any practice using this.
Which meant it was a perfect sparring candidate.
"No need to change forms. Overcoming, or at least mitigating, your weaknesses is a large part of what this is about. Besides, larger opponents are able to give me quite a bit of trouble." Cracking his neck, remaining in a neutral position, he gave a nod.
"You take the lead."
