(Note: Adrian Boriker and Johan Walker will appear as NPCs.)
October 27th, 20186:00 PMIt was that time of year again... the annual district-wide public Halloween party! A rich family would provide the funding for such an extravaganza, and the city loved it! Hundreds of people would attend Miyashita Park each year, almost everyone dressed in costume, ready for the big night of fun, music and candy. Just as the party was getting started, a group of four arrives: Adrian Boriker, who is dressed as Captain America from the Marvel Cinematic Universe; Johan Walker, who was dressed as Izuku Midoriya from My Hero Academia, complete with green wig; Shoutmon, who was wearing a vampire's cape; and Dokamon, who wore nothing. "One of these things is not like the others..." Shoutmon teased Dokamon. "Quiet, imbecile," Dokamon says as he rolls his eyes. "I did not want to dress up like a fool. Besides, today is Halloween; the humans will think we are in costume."
Meanwhile, the group overheard two friends talking to each other near the entryway of the park: "Did you hear that White Wolf is performing at this party?"
"White Wolf?! Oh my god, I am SUCH a fan of hers! What costume do you think she'll wear?!"
"Uh, Adrian, who is White Wolf?" Johan asked. He had not been in Japan for that long, and he was not one to look into idols in Japan. "White Wolf's a popular idol here in Japan... and she's involved with the Digital World as well." He whispered that last part.

Colin James was somewhat proud of his efforts for halloween this year. In the past in his 4 years in Japan he realized he wasn't in America anymore so he mostly went around with the half effort. But upon urgings from his partners and encouragement from his parents, he had pretty much compiled a pretty accurate costume of Simon from Gurren Lagann. Even if he felt a bit self-conscious of not wearing a shirt, at least he had a jacket.
His twin partners Luke and Bellamy had been creative this year too, the digimon embracing their appearances by dressing up as pokemon that they resembled the most. Luke decided to bite the bullet and dress up as a Raichu, while Bellamy assumed the guise of a Sneasel. While Colin had at first been worried that his partners would resent their similarities with pokemon, that they seemed to relish with their accurate costumes made him glad. Also present was Bellamy's daughter Gaz, who was roughly dressed as Rocket Raccoon.
A bigger event perhaps was the invitation of two of their digimon friends. Apparently this was the first visit that Owen the Gaomon ever had to Earth, so Luke and Bellamy were quick to fill him in on human etiquette and such. Thankfully it was halloween, so he didn't necessarily need a functioning holosuit to be here. And neither was his Gumdramon son Bezil. So few batted an eyelid as the two walked through Shibuya, Owen wearing a brown shirt and a collar to pretend to be a character called "Scooby Doo", and Bezil wore a set of horns on his head to pass for a character called "Spyro the Dragon".
The six of them arrived at the agreed venue - the park, seeing Adrian and company enter first. "Heh, this looks like the right place then" Colin remarked. He followed them, then called out to them. "Heya! Nice to see you here!" he said.

"Should I even come over here in the first place? were the first words that Blake has said as he was aimlessly walking around the park, coming quite early. However, he wasn't in his normal clothing as he was dressed as a simple ninja. He wasn't in the mood to be creative anyways and went with the easy way out, having a black keepa on his head to a black bandanna in the front of his mouth.
In fact, he was pretty much wearing everything in black. To his long sleeved shirt to the cargo pants he was in. He didn't come over here because he wanted to. If anything, he would rather stay home but, after being persuaded by Renamon, it's going to be a long night.
Speaking of Renamon, he was walking alongside him, wearing a white karate gi and a black belt. However, there was nothing that could hinder how tall he was so, a few eyes were looming over the digimon to then focus their eyes on their friends.
"Blake, you should at least ease up a little. I have a feeling that we're not any danger which is why I want us to enjoy the day while it lasts." Renamon answered his Tamer.
His Tamer looked away from him. "I know that. But, other than you, I don't trust anyone here." He said to him as his eyes were caught in the entrance. He looked away, not even going to bother to come over there and get a closer look.
However, the two now stopped walking and were getting Fruit Punch from a Halloween Decorated Table, housing a sleek orange and black table sheet with pumpkins adding to it.

"Remind me again why I'm dressed like this?" said an annoyed looking Viximon who was dressed up as a Rowlet, while sitting in John's zipped up backpack, he himself was dressed like Ash Ketchem's design in sun/moon. "Because, we can't afford an holosute, would you want to walk around as your Renamon form for all to see?"
Viximon scratched her ears. "Normally no, but it's Halloween, I don't think anyone would freak out over my rookie form, and my abilaties as Renamon would come in handy if someone tries to attack during this party." John nodded, "True, but they only really work in an empty or dark space, and I don't see ether of those happening tonight, besides you can change into Renamon if you need to, and this way people won't bother you as much."
Viximon sighed "I suppose, just sneak me some food alright?" John chuckled, "Sure, oh we're almost there, be ready to act like a toy if I unzip the backpack." Viximon nodded, "Okay, can do." she said as they arrived at the gate.
The park looked lively, people in all kinds of different costumes where walking around enjoying the party, John looked around to see which costumes he recognized, a far amount he did, but there where some that he didn't.
He saw the food table and was about to head on over to it, when he noticed someone he knew dressed as one of his favorite characters, right next to another one of his favorites. Smiling, John made his way to them, "Hey Adrian, good to see you. Nice costumes, all of you." He greeted.

"Huh? Ain't they those kidnappers?" asked Levi, his face betraying a slight hint of nervousness.
"Sh-sh-sh! Be nice, okay? They weren't trying to kidnap you. They were, uh..." Alan wasn't doing much better, to say the least. He maintained an ever-so-slightly hunched stance as he approached the park, one wrist firmly grasped in the other hand in front of him. He was glancing around for any familiar faces.
"Right, that makes me feel so much better," retorted the Veemon.
Alan had been told other "tamers" would be at this party. Normally, he would consider being strange to be what he does best, but these tamers, now, they were professionals in his eyes. Never before had he experienced this side of the vast spectrum that is "feeling out of place." It didn't help that neither of them were wearing costumes.
"Are you sure about this? People would have to be pretty stupid to think that this is a costume." Levi waved his hands over his form to emphasize his point. This comment, somehow, hit a bit too close to home for Alan.
"It's not just stupidity.... I have experienced firsthand the powers of pure, concentrated denial. It's... highly influential, to say the least. Most people aren't very quick to assume magic is real just because they can't figure out a magic trick."
Just after becoming aware of just how long he'd been standing there, Alan caught sight of Adrian.
There he is, he thought, I haven't spoken to him since I first met him a month ago...
Alan had been far too certain that he had only made a fool of himself when first meeting Adrian, and therefore he wasn't quite sure why he would bother to tell him about a party he'd be attending. Steeling himself, Alan walked towards Adrian to greet him. He opened his mouth, closed it, broke into something of a jog, opened his mouth again, and shouted:
"Hey! Adrian!"

Adrian was a bit surprised to hear someone speak without knowing that they had walked right up to them. Adrian turned around and saw... Colin? From his birthday party? Not only that, but accompanying them were Owen and Bezil themselves!
"What a surprise to see you guys here," Shoutmon cheered. "I never thought I'd see you guys at a place like this!"
"Hey, Owen, how have you been? You too, Bezil?" Johan asked. After getting responses, he'd turn around to Colin. "Hello there. My name's Johan... since you already seem to know about Digimon, this is my partner, Dokamon."
"Pleased to meet-" Dokamon would begin, before hearing a loud yell:
"ADRIAN!" Suddenly, a young woman dressed as Zelda from Breath of the Wild walked up and hugged Adrian right then and there. "It's so good to see you!"
"Jitsuko!" Adrian cheered, returning the hug. Afterwards, Adrian would introduce her to the group. "Guys, this is my friend Jitsuko. She knows about Digimon already."
"It's so great to meet you," Jitsuko tells the group. She made time to speak with everyone there, trying to get along with all of Adrian's friends.
Before long, even more friends of Adrian showed up: John from English class, and Alan, who Adrian and Shoutmon had a... particular encounter with. At this point the group had gotten enormously big. Meanwhile, a girl with black hair and wearing a simple school girl uniform - Rebecca - was just wandering the party, trying her best to avoid everyone. White Wolf was more suited to parties, but showing up as her before her performance?
That would not be good.
However, she was trying so hard to not bump into everyone that she ended up bumping right into another kid who was pouring himself a glass of punch, spilling the drink over both of them. Gasping, she immediately began to feel anxiety.
"G-Gommenasai..." Rebecca spoke in Japanese before quickly walking away, anxiety taking over. Unbeknownst to her, she walked right past the giant group...

"Huh, more people here than I thought they'd be" Bellamy remarked after they had greeted everyone they knew and introduced themselves to those they did not. He gave a glance to their digital world buddies. "You two handlin' everything okay?"
"Oh wow, this food is awesome!" Bezil exclaimed, not minding the situation where there were so many he didn't know. "Hm? Oh yeah, we're fine" the Gumdramon smiled. Honestly, while this wasn't pictured as his first adventure on Earth, he was still enjoying it.
"Well, might as well bring out one of our means of entertainment..." Colin offered, taking off his backpack and revealing a small portable karaoke machine. "Tadaa, we can have karaoke tonight! Hope that's alright".
"Ahh, nice stuff!" Bellamy said, grinning. Bezil meanwhile was a little confused.
"What does 'karaoke' mean?" he asked, tilting his head like a dog would when confronted with something that perplexed them.
"It's a machine that plays the music to a song, and lets you sing the words to it" Luke explained patiently, wishing his tail spikes weren't so awkward to fit into his Raichu costume, which basically consisted of curled ears, yellow spots on his cheeks and a long prosthetic thunderbolt tail.
"Oh hey, that sounds neat!" Owen suddenly said, wagging his tail a little. "Can I have a go?"
"Well, uh, we gotta plug it in first" Colin said, hoping they were around in this park setting. "Anyone else can have a go too, once we set it up..."

"The hell?!" was let out of Blake's mouth as someone spilled fruit punch onto their clothes including Renamon's Gi. "WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?!" He shouted waving his left fist at her. He was about to go over there but, he was stopped by Renamon, grabbing his right hand with napkins being given to him on his left.
"Don't make a scene. I thought you didn't want any attention drawn to yourself." He said non-chalantly
Blake turned to him and took the napkin to clean the spill on his shirt with Renamon doing the same on his Gi. "Says the person who is the tallest out of everyone in this party." Blake rebuttled with Renamon looking away.
After several seconds, Blake looked in the direction where the person seemed to have went. He couldn't see anything but, a big group of people. He decided to get a closer look with Renamon tailing behind him. When he got a closer look all he saw was a reason to cringe. It was as if they were actual pokemon but, they weren't. Besides a few others who actually attempted to be creative in his eyes. There was one who didn't bother to wear a costume which he didn't seem to mind.
Now seeing, yet more people group with the posse, he backed away before bumping into his partner.
"I actually like those costumes. I'm going to go over to compliment them." He said to his Tamer before Blake grabbed his arm.
"Like? I think practically half of them are just digimon in Pokemon costumes. How do you even like them?" Blake said to him.
Renamon smirked. "At least they're authentic. Unlike yours. No offense." He replied to him.
Blake sighed and lets go of his arm, sighing. He pulls up on his bandanna looking at his Renamon continuing to walk over to them.
As Renamon was near the group of people, he cleared his throat. "I didn't want to interrupt but, like all of your costumes." was all he said, bowing to them before starting to walk back to Blake. "A simple compliment didn't kill anyone. That is something what my tamer needs to understand." He thought. "I hope they didn't notice the spill on my Gi." He murmured.

John looked at the karaoke machine with uncertainty. "I never tried karaoke before, I was never really interested and to be honest, I'm not that good at singing."
He decided to take a better look at the group's costumes, they all looked like something he recognized, ether from a series or in general, but one he recognized for another reason.
"So, any reason why your not in costume, and what kind of digimon are you?" he said to the Dokamon, "Oh, a digimon who is walking around at a Halloween party, and is not in costume, who could have thought that was an option?" Viximon quipped. "Quiet you." John shushed his sasspack, as he did he hears someone yelling, turning to its direction he sees Rebecca as she was passing by, and her ruined clothes. "Hey are you okay, do you want me to get some napkins for you?" he asked. "You look like you got something spilled on your clothes there, unless your going someone who fell in a puddle."

It was somewhat discouraging to Alan that even after all he'd been through, he still worried about these kinds of things so much when talking to others.
It's not like I can do much about it. It's impossible to completely rework your own personality, especially within the span of a month.
He checked the date on his phone. It... really has been only a month, huh... He had had well over a month's worth of experiences since his arrival in Shibuya, to say the least.
Adrian had been talking to a few others when he approached. It wouldn't be rude to ask about them.
"Hey, Adrian. Hey, Shoutmon. I'm here, if that's alright. It's... it's been a while." He slightly tilted his head in the general direction of the other guests. "Are they your friends?"
Levi spoke up from behind him, with a knowing smirk that made it clear that he meant no offense:"'If that's alright?'"
"Haha, I know, I know," replied Alan. If he couldn't get rid of his over-apologetic tendencies, the best he could do was try to laugh at them.

As Colin and his crew got the karaoke machine out, a few people began to take notice... and not in the way Colin expected. Some of the people around the group kinda gave them weird looks, but other than that just went about their way.
Shoutmon was definitely interested, if that meant he got to sing. "Hell yeah, let's do it!"
"I actually have to pull Adrian away here for a second, there's something we gotta talk about," Jitsuko says as she drags Adrian to another area of the party. "But we'll come back in a bit!" From there, who knew what they were going to talk about?
"I have no interest in your silly singing games," Dokamon says. "Johan, let us go sample foods at the concessions table. I am a bit peckish."
"Uh, alright, sure! Anyone else want to join us before karaoke? Maybe you'll see Dokamon go cuckoo over sweets again."
"Don't push it."
Back with Rebecca, the yelling from Blake did NOT help her confidence at all. And such, she began to immediately sob and run off, clearly visible to the rest of the group. It was such a bad idea coming to this party...
Before long, two young teenage males ran up to the group. One had blonde hair and green eyes, while the other had white hair and brown eyes, neither of which were in costume. "Excuse me," the white haired one asked, "we're looking for a girl with black hair and wearing a school uniform. Have you seen her? We have something to tell her."

Picking up some signals, Bellamy quickly turned to Colin that the reception wasn’t quite as expected. In fact there were a lot of strangers at this party come to think of it, and he hardly knew any of them.
“Hey, Colin, might wanna take your time settin’ that up, eh?” the Impmon asked his partner. “Let’s have it for later when people wanna let loose a little, it’s kinda not needed right now”.
Colin realized this was probably the truth. He backed down a little and would be happy to finish setting up only if more than a few others wanted to do so. Gaz seemed a little affronted by the rude Dokamon though. “Well, up yours then” she answered the stuck-up person.
“Gaz, be nice...” Bellamy told his daughter. While if they had been alone he would have approved of her sticking up for them, but, they weren’t, and the impressionable Bezil might learn some bad habits from her if he let her be a little punkish without checks.
Then a Renamon with a gi stained with punch approached, then complimenting them on their costumes. “Heh, thanks!” Bellamy said, grinning with the appreciation of his Sneasel outfit. “Took a while to get it right, but bit of temporary fur dye and some feathers in the right spot can do wonders eh?”
“Yeah, that’s nice of you to say” Colin answered, his confidence restored a little by the compliment. Had it not been for his partners’ encouragement he would have never worn something like this to a party. Then a couple of others approached with interest about the karaoke.
“Heya, Shoutmon!” Owen and Bezil said to him as they approached. “Heh, don’t worry, I don’t have any more kids with me this time” he said, remembering the humorous realization that he had a new child every time they met.
John seemed interested in the karaoke as well. Colin was glad of that kind of support too, but Bellamy’s recommendation was there in his mind.
“Ah, right. Sorry guys, maybe not right now, there doesn’t seem to be anywhere to plug it in yet” Colin answered. “Thanks for the interest though.
Then, two others seemed to join the party. Colin wondered who they were. That was... odd questions they were asking there. He didn’t have any answer for them so he turned to John instead, recognizing him a little from school.
“Heya, I think I might have seen you a few times around school” he said to the other boy. “Sorry, I haven’t caught your name. I’m Colin” he’d offer his hand to shake.

Now walking back to his tamer, Blake was staring at the group of people that Renamon complimented. As Renamon was now partly infront of Blake, he tilted his head. "Something wrong?" Renamon asked him.
Blake didn't answer as he just kept on staring at the group of people. "I don't trust anyone." was erupting through his mind, his face was just a blank slate until, Renamon waved a hand infront of him which broke his train of focus as he blinked to focus on his partners face.
"Trust can take a long time to be formed but, be broken in an instant that you use it against them. I 'm assuming that's what you're thinking about?" Renamon asked him.
Blake just nodded, looking away at him. "You don't have to force yourself to be alone. You just have to put yourself in that person's shoes. It shouldn't be hard." Renamon continued speaking, referring to Leith a little bit.
His tamer didn't say anything as he just stood there.

Before Alan could get a single word in, Adrian, the one person at the party whom he actually recognized, had been dragged a way by someone who was no doubt of some importance to Adrian. He can't say he was too disappointed. He wasn't exactly looking forward to the next time he'd talk to Adrian after their first run-in. Nevertheless, Alan was now completely surrounded by absolute strangers. Strangers who probably already knew each other in some way. As flawed as his logic was, he wasn't about to "intrude" on anyone else's fun times with friends.
Alan wasn't feeling so hot. Everything in his peripheral vision seemed to fizzle out of focus as he trudged to the nearest stable object he could use to slouch to the ground. Levi hopped after him, clearly in distress.
"No! No! Nonononono! Hey! Alan! No! Please!" Levi caught up with Alan, who was now sitting on the ground, knees pulled to his chest, and head down. The Veemon pushed Alan's arm out of the way in order to get Alan to look him in the eye.
"Alan... it's okay. It's a big, public party. People come here to meet other people. You've made so many wonderful friends by chance already! I'm sure they're nice!"
Alan stared more intensely at the ground. I know he's right, but...
"Look. You're not alone. I'm here. You know me."
When Alan looked up to make eye contact with Levi, he noticed two teenagers had run up to the group he had just been standing in. Two teenagers he thought he recognized. It was enough to snap him out of his despondency, allowing him to stand up, and approach the two. "August? Gabe? Is that you?"

"Hmm... how can this thing even get set up, anyways?" Shoutmon asked as he observed the karaoke machine and the surrounding areas. Suddenly, he remembered what he had gotten on a previous adventure: an Electric Fragment. Shoutmon took the plug and attached the fragment to it.
And viola! The karaoke machine powered on! "Hahaha! I am ze mastah of electricity!" As soon as he said that, the karaoke machine blew up. The fragment overcharged the machine in a big way. Shoutmon sweatdropped and chuckled nervously. "Heh... sorry about that, Colin."
At the snack table. Johan noticed a kid just staying away from everyone, besides this one... ninja-fox? He decided to try and include them. "Hey... you wanna hang out with us? We don't bite over here."
"That Gazimon might," Dokamon quipped.
August and Gabe were annoyed that no one was answering their question. So it was lucky that Alan and Levi happened to be right there. After introductions were dealt with, with August and Gabe greeting the two in their own ways, Gabe got right down to it. "Have you seen Rebecca around here? She just ran off, away from us. It's real important that we find her." Suddenly, a man on the stage alerted everyone to an important announcement. "Okay, everyone! The White Wolf Halloween concert is going to start in ten minutes! After the show, three lucky fans will be able to come back stage and meet White Wolf herself! Just enter your name in the raffle to enter!"
