The situation had slowly begun to get less awkward now. Tsukiko couldn’t go as far as saying that she didn’t hate Kazuya anymore, but at least his company was not totally annoying... For a night, only.
A warm memory reached Tsukiko again. This time she just let a giggle go when she heard Kazuya’s comment. “You have, actually.” The girl closed her eyes for a second, letting go a sigh. Her attention then went to Royland, who engaged conversation again, this time about how it was like living in a dojo.
“It was fun, actually. I took kendo classes for years, and I was actually pretty good!” Her index finger on her lower lip, the girl mused about this, realizing something. “I actually taught a thing or two about handling his sword at Mitsuharu. Even though I don’t know if he actually needed that.” She then shrugged. In the end, the intention was what counted. “I assumed that’s what made him call me ‘Sensei’, actually.” Not like she had actually asked him directly. “I do not know if that’s what made Kazuya like samurai stuff.” Her eyes went to the raven-haired man for a second. “But I suppose he’s the one to tell you that.”
The topic had now drifted towards Katherine, the curly haired girl that accompanied Kazuya. “That’s great. I do hope everything turns out okay for her.” It gave some tranquility to Tsukiko knowing the girl was able to take care of herself. Actually, thinking about it, she didn’t know if she would be able to hold herself in situations like that when she was a teenager. Then again, she wasn’t very strong back then.
With her eyes blinking, Tsukiko just stared at Royland as he went on and on about this girl’s digimon, a creature called Jazz. His sentence went from zero to one hundred rather fast, ending up in something completely crazy. “You… what!?” Tsukiko raised an eyebrow, a little startled at how easily Royland said something like that. “You are in love with this girl’s digimon, Royland?” Welp. It had actually escaped from her thoughts the possibility of digimon falling in love. Did it sound plausible? Of course! She had witnessed herself the different kinds of feeling digimon could bestow. So thinking about Royland loving another digimon was not unearthly.
After some seconds of silence, she turned to Kazuya. “Did you know about this!?” She asked, sounding pretty surprised. Even when Tsukiko wasn’t the romantic type of girl, the idea sounded so endearing she couldn’t help but inquiry a little more about it. “Well… That depends on what she likes!” The girl immediately suggested. “What does Jazz like to do?” She tilted her head, with a soft gesture. Tsukiko then took the tray with the tea back into the kitchen.
It was a little past 1:00 am already, so it was probably time to go to bed. After finishing this conversation, Tsukiko would take some blankets and pillows out of the closet. “You can sleep either on the couch or over the tatami. I am sorry I don’t have any bed to offer you two.” Her mouth wrinkled a little, upon finishing this sentence. It really was a shame. She then blinked at Kazuya’s statement. “Well… I think it’s not the person I could be dating with who you should be worried about. I really don’t want Mitsuharu causing a mess in my living room just because he found you two still in here at eight.” If the girl knew her partner, which she did, she knew he was sticking to his word, and he would get up early to make sure they were gone.
“I have to wake up at 7 am to go to work, so…” A brief pause ensued, as she placed all of the blankets and pillows over the table. “At that hour, I'll open the door for you guys.”
