Some Time to Reflect (Digi-mental Hunt/Solo)

DracNos slid through the terrain of the Dark Area, his solitude echoing through his entire being, as he took the form of his lupine champion form, his blindness carrying him through the pitch-black night with effortless ease. His sight was in his hearing and his sense of smell, as well as the echolocation-like perception of his environment. He then detected a darkness, with an uncanny sixth sense, this darkness was deeper than his surroundings, and with no other direction in mind, DracNos set off into the cavern. He needed something, anything to distract him. Ever since he evolved to JesterPuppetmon, and then degenerated back to Matadormon, he realized something.
Once he degenerated further to his less intelligent rookie form, he chose to forget about this discovery, but the truth continued to worm it's way back into his mind, plaguing his thoughts. It was safe to say he disliked this truth about himself, this very idea denied everything he had done in his life, regardless, he had to stop thinking about this stuff, anything else needed to happen. His champion form had the ability to meld into the shadows, so he somehow managed to ignore the numerous mechanisms and traps set in place, motion sensors, tripwires, and even thermal scanners all proved useless before his shapeless form.
His power made the aimless journey almost relaxing, as he turned left and right randomly, following what he always did, his passing whims. His special sense detected an oddity, and a first throughout his few days spent in the Dark Area; there was a source of light just ahead. He emerged from the shadow, the numerous blades attached to his legs scraping against the ground casually. He moved forward, sniffing the source of light. It was a soft light, the kind he could handle easily, it was blinding light like that of the human's world sun that bothered him the most, in this form. A cold, playful voice spoke up, from the thing he was currently sniffing, "Come now, just take a look already."

DracNos had no real reason to not look, even if it was a trap, he did kind of want to talk to someone. It was only natural to degenerate, as his ultimate level always ended up a bit too self-contemplative for his taste, so his rookie was the fit for him. He then raised his hands, aiming his eyes at the mirror, finding a pair of much larger eyes staring right back. "There you are, hello!" The cool voice remarked, cheerfully, before the two eyes pulled away, revealing the long claws and the arms attached to the eyes, as DracNos finally processed this strange reflection bearing the same trait as him.
The arms of the reflection crossed, revealing the head of the tall humanoid being, which was wearing a classic masquerade mask. "Hello, DracNos, let's have a chat, shall we?" it asked, waving one of his arms, causing a door behind Drac to slam shut. Drac heard it, so he felt no real need to turn around, "Trap, got it." the rookie level nodded, comprehensively. "What? No, no, no, of course not, I will do you no harm, long as you're reasonable." The figure stated, bowing casually. After a moment of silence, the reflection spoke up again, "What? Does this sort of look worry you? Perhaps you find it familiar?" It taunted.
"Yeah, I beat up a lot of jerks that look and act like you, like, a lot." Drac remarked, sitting down from a little hop. "Huh, it's strange you would say that, in my opinion, I guess just taking things calmly and being polite is... villainous, in nature? Well, it's also funny cause you just insulted yourself." The voice chuckled, it's voice coy as ever. "Sorry, but what? I don't look like you at all! You just ripped off my eyeball-hands!" Drac countered, pointing at the mirror accusingly, as the reflection placed it's hands on the frame of it's mirror. "Indeed I did, when you say it like that." He chuckled, "But... that's not the only thing I 'ripped off' of you..." It said, with much more of a sinister sneer of a voice.

DracNos was already losing interest in everything this joke was saying, and turned around, to tap the door behind him, testing it's durability passively. "You're more than smart enough to recognize me, you know. You might just pretend to know otherwise, but you know what I am. Who I am. Even with that childish mind of yours, you understand, don't you?" The reflection explained, pointing at the rookie level, through the glass. DracNos didn't turn around, and kept scratching idly at the door. "You know you're not like them, right?" The reflection stated, his tone becoming more callous by the second, retaining it's brutal cold from before.
"...Shut up." Drac replied, finally responding to the reflection's jeers. "What's wrong? I'm just pointing out the obvious, which is my job, right now, it seems." He spoke as if it was all some sort of joke. "You never liked those guys." The voice seeped into Drac's being, resonating with his very soul. "They think they're your friend, but you can't do that, can you? You can't be their friend, never. Because you don't get it." The voice continued, it was then Drac noticed something. The voice wasn't coming from the mirror. He turned around, and the tall being stood behind him, staring him down using it's palm-eyes.
"They always cared for one another, showing concern when the others got hurt, they even care for you, even though you can't feel anything." The voice continued, it's wings stretching further around the room, as vines creeped around DracNos's clawed feet. "You can't feel those things, you never cared for them, you just joined in because you wanted to understand, but the more you spent time with them, the more you realized; you will never understand, Matadormon understood, that's why he brought us here, the whole time you were guiding yourself here, to me. To you."

"But... I have friends..." was all Drac could come up with, in response. "Oh, yes, you are their friend, you do things with them, go on adventures, and have a great time, right...?" Drac replied, the mirror now empty of any sort of reflection. Drac was unable to reply, staring blankly at his own face, "Or... at least, that was your desire, our deepest most desperate wish." Drac continued, "but as time went on, we just got more and more frustrated, and had no clue why that was. Well, we had an idea, but we chose to dismiss it. We're much smarter than we think, aren't we?"
"Be quiet, already." "No, I refuse to be silent any longer. We know what we are by now. Let go of your foolish fantasies and face it." Drac said, while his arms fell limp, "I'm... Not like you." Drac rebutted, feebly, "Can't you see!? You are me! We are everything you are scared to face. Scared to be. And it's all because of this!" DracNos exclaimed, jabbing his crimson-clawed thumb at his chest, "This cursed core of ours, it's hollow, so far from life it's sickening! I hate it! Nothing I do fills this hole! Why!? What am I doing wrong!?" DracNos demanded an answer, from the empty air.
"From the very beginning, I could do nothing but destroy, no bit of good I do gives me anything of worth! Every time I hung out with that human and his worm, I... I just hated them more and more! The way they laughed, the way they moved, the way they talked, so full of life, so full of..." the small undead digimon clenched his small fists, dropping to his knees, "The way they were so... kind... to everything, they had nothing to gain! So why... why be my friend...?" He hadn't asked these questions before, felt rage like this before, no, he had this rage, but now he understood. That mirror... it was truth, brutal, cold and unforgiving, but always reasonable.

The small vampire shook his head, his head clear of all the chaos from before. Things got pretty hectic back there, he had to admit. It was a good thing no one else was around to see that little show, way too cheesy and dramatic for anyone to not feel awkward. This did include the little virus as well, he was kind of upset with how this thing turned out, but it couldn't really be helped. Drac wandered up to the mirror, tapping it, and his reflection mirrored his movements. Such a creepy thing, who would just leave something like this lying around? Well, it wasn't any of his business. What was his business was how the mirror was now glowing. The other side of the mirror seemed to fill with the ivy all over the room, before a bloom erupted from the mirror, seemingly phasing through the glass, as a small object fell from the flower's center, landing with a dull "Thud!"
Drac scratched his head, picking up the small thing. It was exactly the same size as his digiegg of indulgence, so it must be the same sort of deal. A new form, how interesting! He would have to try it out at some point, he decided. He then realized the room was still very much locked, and he tilted his head, glancing around. He held up the digiegg, tilting his head, wondering what to do next. This whole thing was pretty annoying, but he dealt with annoying stuff all the time. Should he just bust his way out? Nah, he had done enough angry stuff today.
Drac pulled out the box which held his other digiegg and stuffed the new addition inside as well, ignoring the celebratory "Fwoo!" from the box, as well as the confetti that had burst out. He then pocketed the box, before stretching one way, then the other, before reaching down and touching his feet-claws, before his body turned sheet black, before his body dispersed into a number of bats, each with sinister sneers. The bats wiggled their way through the pitch-black stone of the cavern, once more completely bypassing the carefully laid-out traps of the cave. Of course, those traps were meant for those unaccustomed to the shadows of the Dark Area, so traversing it was not really a trouble for him. He simply stared out at the barren expanses, deciding. He was staying here. For a while, at least, as he did need to think about some more important stuff, mainly what he was going to do next, as he couldn't afford to keep living by his careless whims, not anymore, at least.
