Both the girl and the bunny put their heads together to take a closer look at this gem Akemi was showing. It wasn't too different from the Zoid Gems, not very flashy and could fit in a bag. However, there was a certain "vibe" that could be felt around the ancient relics made of Chrome Digizoid, and this didn't have it. "It is not a Zoid Gem, that much is clear, but..." She quietly observed the item, trying to rapidly analyze its qualities. "I don't think they are completely unrelated, though. If during my travels I find anything about this, I won't hesitate in telling you." A firm nod finished this topic.
It felt nice having someone else's information in that old D-Terminal, other than Amelie's, at least. Ever since she had met Amy and Kazuya, Katherine was slowly starting to accept people in her life, and she couldn't deny the thought of having someone as Akemi Amaya as a friend made her smile.
The day was over for now though. They had to go back home before anyone got too worried. "Thanks for all of that food, Mr. Paul. Are you sure you don't want us to...?" Her suggestion was immediately dismissed by the cook, who didn't even let her finish.
"Don't even think about it, Misu. I can't be more grateful for what you four have decided to do for me and Bastian." Paul's classical tender smile was sort of contagious, that was impossible to deny. "I wish you the best of luck. Remember you can always come here for lunch while you're in the Human World!" Even when this suggestion was not too pragmatic for Katherine and Jazz since there was always the possibility of the Dark Army showing up at the restaurant, it was definitely appreciated. "In all honesty, I was feeling kind of sad when I learned about Bastian being in such trouble." A melancholic countenance wiped the smile out of the Veedramon's face. "That's why you found me sleeping in the back, with the place kind of closed." Slowly, a smirk being drawn on the cook's face again. "But now I know I can't give up! If you are going to work hard to find Bastian, then I have to do my best cooking here to keep putting smiles on people's faces!" It was hard to tell when Paul was sad since he was constantly smiling. But he had been through a lot, and it was only logical he was feeling down before they arrived. "I know that's what Bastian would want."
"You betcha' cook! We're going to find Bastian and defeat the Dark Army!" A holosuited Jazz clenched a fist and showed a warm smile to the dragon. "And then the four of us are coming back here and having a great meal!"
After waving goodbyes with Paul, Katherine said goodbye to Akemi and Anzu in front of the park. "Take care, Ama- I mean..." This was still a little hard. "... Akemi, Anzu." There you go. "I know we'll see each other again very soon. I will text Amy when I get home to talk about this project. It is likely Jazz and I will be at the Dark Area looking for Bastian and helping you before you know it." There was no reason for her blue-eyed friend to say no, right?
Katherine and Jazz took the train back home. While she stared by the window of the wagon, she could only think about how things were getting more and more complicated. Great battles incoming, and more friends to meet. Void was waiting for them, hiding, somewhere around Shibuya. They were about to face their biggest challenge so far, and they were going to need all the allies they could get.
Sadly, Katherine was about to find out her biggest enemy would be the slowly growing feelings of uncertainty inside of her digimon partner.
