Cassandra sat half curled in an armchair, the book Mikemon had sent her laid across her lap as she read silently. The soft beep of the heart monitor a near constant background noise to her study. The Doctor only pausing as she turned a page every so often to glance up at her most critical of patient. Laid up in bed with bandages covering his still healing eyes and half his face, the mountain of a man looked like a shadow of his former self. An oxygen mask aided him breathing with wires hooking him up to the heart monitor which sat next to his IV making the ex-spirit user look like a mass of cords. Swathed in blankets the soft fabric hid most of the bandages and damage from the torso down making it appear as though the worst of the injuries was relegated to his broken ribs and the carefully tended to electrical burns down the mans arms and shoulders.
But Doctor Cross knew better. Knew of the metal brace she'd had to strap the man into to protect his damaged spine. Knew that if Kan was lucky at best the man would be able to walk with a cane. At worst...he'd never walk again. Sighing Cas let her eyes rove over the pale eggshell white guest room, sparse except for the bed, bedside dressed, and the chair she herself was curled up in. A single window showing the windswept grass of the island outside as a cloud passed by, the rooms one redeeming feature being the private shower and bathroom attached to it which was more then most had.
In truth Cas found herself nostalgic for the days where she thought blood and gore would be the worst part of her career. Now though she knew better. Now she knew it was the waiting that truly killed you.

Survival as it was had always been in his core. Down to an absolute he was a survivor of the highest order; through thick and thin this man had always trudged on. Surprisingly non violently in his ways; so when it came down to it. When it came down to the wire he was found wanting.
He was struck by such strength at such a time that rendered his digital form moot. His digivice gone and his human body in bad need of intense care. He didn't know the entire length of his damage; from top to bottom he had expected to die out there in the desert. So as he was floating in the darkness of what you could consider the abyss of waiting he was gifted with the soft knowledge he wasn't dead.
If he had perished he'd probably of woken up in the village of beginnings or that he'd go much further than just some place of endless darkness. He didn't want it to end here; in a bliss of pain and unknowing. Grimacing he'd fold his 'arms' uncertain of what may lay ahead of him.
Through the peerless dark something cut through like a beacon of light. A single white form, small in design. Only a few buttons but it's lack of a broken screen and the well grooved buttons made the man hesitate. What was this in front of him? It was maybe another chance for him?
So yes he did what any grasping man would do and he took the bright device in front of him. Unaware of his actions having a real world result.
To Cas it would seem as though Kan's heart rate would start to beat a little more strongly. His oxygen intake seemed to even out where his lungs were actually doing some of the work. Even his right hand seemed to clench in such a fashion as to hold something. A peculiar white digivice.
But standing at the foot of the bed in surprise was a creature just a little taller than kan himself. It's hands were on it's hips and the gaze from the brown furred individual shifted around the room until it finally settled down on the human on the bed ignoring the presence of the doctor.
"Oi you ditz! Wake up!"

The Doctor flipped another page pausing as she glanced up at the sound of Kan's elevated heart rate and then suddenly several things seemed to happen all at once. Namely the woman in question flying into a flurry of motion as she registered she was no longer the only being in the room as she scampered backwards atop the chair with a strangled noise of surprise as she chucked the hardbound medical book with deadly aim right at the creatures chest. Then realizing just whom the being was looming over instinct kicked in as the Doctor all, but launched herself at the beat fist cocked back and swinging to defend her vulnerable patient.
"FUCK YOU FIGHT ME!" The Doctor screamed out her battlecry in a furious schreech her voice cracking with the strain as she bared her teeth, a strange sight given her holosuit still obscured her as a normal human, and hoped she could make enough of a nuisance of herself to draw the beings attention away from Kan.

The machleomon spirit frowned a little bit and crossed his arms realizing that his spirit user was not indeed waking up. He was in a bloody coma! Of all things he was currently gripping the device that no doubt had been sent to him in some manner or another. But why was he getting the strange vibe that this man was so far into his adventure that another device seemed somewhat strange?
However there was something that demanded his attention first. The flurry of motion out of the most right eye followed by the hardbound medical book that soared straight and true... right through his chest landing hard against the back-wall with a resounding thud.
Then of course she yelled at him; blinking the MachLeomon turned while turning either of his palms upwards. In that sort of sign most humans still recognized that as a way of saying you meant not harm right?
"Look for either of those I'd need him Girl! So calm yerself before you blow a gasket!"
The MachLeomon glanced down at his spirit user with a frown who was slowly starting to stirr with a groggy sounding groan. He wasn't fully awake but he at the very least was making sounds and moving now! The free hand that kan had slowly came up to grip at his face in surprise as he was of course covered rather well.
"Mrph?"

That of course didn't stop the Doctor from coming up swinging, momentum carrying her forward and through the Machleomon's ghostly form as she snarled and spun on her heel ready for a second pass if that's what it took even as the lion's words registered. Perhaps the only sign of Cassandra's embarrassment outwardly would be the brief fast blink of her eyes, the holosuit not showing the way her cheeks suddenly flushed pink with realization as she hesitated for a single second before a inhuman growl tore it's way out of the woman's through.
"Step away from my patient or I'll rip your throat out with my teeth." Cassandra threatened bristling as she subtly shifting towards Kan's side moving to cut the Machlemon off from the injured man. Kan's movement giving her hope though she was quick to reach out to grab his hands to stop him from rubbing at the bandages of his still healing eyes.
"Don't. The degeneration of the data bleed hurt you almost as badly as that Dragon." The Doctor cautioned her voice gentling in regards to her injured patient, though she watched the Machleomon warily out of the corner of her eye her stance defensive.

The MachLeomon sighed as the doctor swung through him, the momentum carrying her through his form and even with the spin on her heel it really didn't amount to much as the leomon didn't have any form to really strike. There was that brief hesitation before she'd growl at him making the MachLeomon raise his hands up a little bit trying to seem non threatening.
"Look Girl, you keep promising me a good time and I'll have to take you up on it at SOME point blood or no. But If I step away further than this I'll stop projecting from the device. My connection with Kan ain't too strong yet."
The bandaged man let out a surprised yet muffled sound at feeling his hands getting grabbed. He paused and shifted just a little bit to look towards where he heard the Doctor's voice. The hidden face of the man spoke a thousand emotions and he'd simply lay back against the bed with a muffled grunt.
"Mrph."
"Which is part of the reason I'm here, I'm Snyder. Kan's Spirit. Well True spirit at least. Not the blokes that he was workin wiff before. Part of the reason he's Data bleed so bad. They weren't his, they were that kid's that gave up. But now that I'm here Kan can start to heal; least in that sense."
The MachLeomon sighed and crossed his arms staring down at the two humans in front of him. He wasn't making any moves towards the two as he harbored them no ill will what-so-ever. When it came down to spirits Synder was probably one of the more friendly sorts. He just wanted his Spirit user to be healthy dammit! And this lady here was probably responsible for him or something.

"So you're saying if he bonds with you it'll repair some of his...some of the damage from the data bleed?" The Doctor questioned with a tilt of her head and a narrowed wary gaze. Still hovering near Kan's side she slowly released the man's wrists carefully pressing his arms gently back down onto the bed.
"And how do I know this isn't a trick? I've heard of spirits taking advantage of a weakened spirit user to subsume their form. How do I know you don't intend to do so?" Cas asked more then a little unhappy about having to split her attention between a potential threat and the injured man in the bed.
"Try not to move Kan. I have you in a brace, but fighting the brace might injure you worse." The Doctor cautioned softly. "I'll remove the oxygen mask though so you can speak easier." She added carefully unhooking the mask from his face and turning off the tank.

"Not if girly, When. It'll be a slow thing for sure but it'll help with all the mess they left. A healthy relationship tween a spirit and their user is somethin right to behold."
Kan didn't struggle or try to keep his arms raised as the doctor pressed his arms gently down back onto the bed. He still could feel the strange contour of the digivice and the odd hostility in the room. It was kind of hard to tell what was going on with all the bandages and such but he had a feeling things were going to be okay.
The spirit scoffed at the idea of him tricking the doctor into letting him take advantage of the weakened spirit user. Where he could control the man's form as though it was his own rather than the human. He'd wave a hand somewhat dismissively and stare down at the doctor with a quirk of the brow.
"Because as the spirit of Redemption that's not part of my bloody resume, I don't possess bodies lest they want to have my power. Besides if I did that you'd probably have me ousted right quick with a trick or two. You may be pretty but that doesn't mean you don't have wit."
The human tried to keep his movements to a minimum as the doctor said that he was in a brace. He could feel the pressure here and there making it awkward to even consider doing so. When the oxygen mask was removed the man let out a royal cough and managed to speak of his own volition after trying to make his mouth not seem as dry.
"I'm going to presume... I have a guest other than you... What happened after the dragon Doc...?"
"That's how yah know I found the right bloody human, doesn't even care his own body is broken layin in a bed inches from death."
The spirit shook it's head; if anything this human fit the three spirit elements that were associated with Snyder in the long haul but that also meant a dizzingly worrying amount of things would have to change to reach the end of a long road.

"Where do you get off?!" Cas hissed in anger skepticism wrought in every ounce of her figure, "You have no idea the sort of hell I've seen lately." The Doctor growled low and throat in her ire her holosuit sparking to show a flash of crimson in her gaze before she turned back to Kan. Fumbling with her infini-store she carefully pulled out a canteen as she pressed it gently to the man's chapped lips.
"Here drink this. You took the worst of the damage that I saw, but everyone made it out and yes...There is a spirit here and he's claiming to be yours." The Doctor murmured glancing between Kan and the Machleomon her gaze a good deal more baleful in regards to the spirit. Still the man had been in a medically induced coma for almost two weeks with Cas ceasing the drugs to keep him under three days ago so he could wake, but he hadn't woken.
She'd worried he might never wake and admittedly the most improvement the man had shown was with this spirits appearance. "You'll find Spirit that appearances can be rather deceiving," The Doctor murmured deactivating her holosuit as she stared the Lion down with a hard glittering crimson gaze, "But you are right about one thing wit is something I have aplenty and while for Kan's sake I'll allow this...you hurt him and I'll do unto you tenfold whatever you might do unto him." The Woman warned giving Kan a chance to finish drinking before she would carefully cap her canteen and stalk a short distance away from the bedside.

"No the question is how do I get you off girly?"
The MachLeomon enjoyed the teasing flirt but also enjoyed his women with a bit of a feisty nature to them. It made him grin wider than it should and he'd tilt his head ever so slightly when she spoke of what sort of hell she apparently had been through. Fumbling for something while the MachLeomon gave her a once over with a curious brow raise.
"No I don't. But somethin tells me it's nothin simple. What sort of hell you've seen recently? Is it the one with ladydevimon's with those whips n chains? Been there fore, wasn't terribly pleasant."
The man took teh water that was given to him, drinking in somewhat controlled gulps as the doctor explained what was happening. He'd let out a surprised sound and cough a little bit at what she said.
"Good that everyone made it out... I could vaguely tell something else was here but... So soon? Does the digital world really think I'm worthy of another partner?"
The spirit quirked a brow and would go to say something but found his jaw drop when the holosuit was deactivated. He was greeted with the glittering crimson gaze, the metal plates and what some humans would of course consider a monstrous appearance. The MachLeomon raised a finger and shook it, shaking his head along with it his long mane going all over the place with a massive smile on his face.
"You should of told me you had red eyes! It's mah favorite bloody color! I'd hate to see what you did to the other Guy because DAMN girly if you're half the fighter in bed you look to be out of it I want in on that action! You should tell me the ringer you've had to go through over a couple flagons when I have a body!"
The leomon would spread his hands with a wide grin watching his human partook in the water. Letting out a somewhat exasperated sound once he had finished. It was something that would make him feel better after all. The MachLeomon's expression changed to somewhat of a serious one.
"Look Girly I don't want to go back to that hell of waitin again, and taking control of some bedside human would be stupid of me. Wouldn't be able to change or fight anything. It'd behoove me to work with yah, for yah or with yah."

Without the holosuit to hide her Doctor Cross blushed a bright red, staining her pale slightly sunken cheeks a bright pink and she pulled her coat a little tighter around her thin frame and averted her eyes. "Sorry..." She mumbled softly. "I shouldn't have done that. I'm used to..." The Woman trailed off not speaking aloud the reactions she had grown resigned to seeing, but from the way she tugged her sleeves down a little harder it was clear they'd rarely been pleasant.
"You didn't need to see that." Cas added a little firmer as she swiftly switched her holosuit back on shying away a bit from Snyder and Kan's bedside as she motioned to the man in question.
"Very well. He may not think he's worthy, but I do. If your intentions are good then...he could use all the help he could get." The Doctor for the grim verdict simply was that with the scarring his previous spirits had left on him and the damage his body had suffered...Cas was uncertain if Kan would ever walk again. Even if the Leomon could only heal him enough to stand on his own and use a cane any alternative was better.

"It's fine girly. Not everyone's gonna think the same."
The spirit tilted it's head a little bit and eyed the woman as she seemed out of sorts now. That tint of blush and seemingly awkward tug of her sleeves. It was obvious that she had dealt with some.. problems regarding her appearance. Snyder rubbed his neck and leaned just a little bit eyeing the woman as she switched the holosuit back on.
"Didn't need to? I think it was just fine Girly. I think the word is fetching; but that's my opinion. Stayin in a shell is all good, but after a while... which is which?"
The spirit rolled his shoulders and turned to look at the man he had come here for. Frowning a bit the spirit leaned and snorted at the idea that he was unworthy of another partner.
"Him? To some maybe not. But... if it's me he's getting. He's one that's beffitin of a ruler. Not just. A survivor. Gonna have to get him up to speed when he's done healin."
The spirit chuckled and leaned down to touch the device; there would be a blinding flash and a somewhat surprised yet loud sound that came from kan as the digital energy of another spirit poured through him. The light as fast as it came would fade just as fast. But instead of laying down as he should the man was sitting upright; a firm cough escaping from him.
"A damn right mess he was. But I've taken care of... The bigger problems. Gonna rest for a bit."
"Tch... So this is what it's going to be like then? Cas... Can you help me take off the bandages to my eyes?"

"I think you may have it backwards. This was my true appearance. The...what you saw. That is the shell." The Doctor murmured shaking her head clearly not yet comfortable in addressing the issue just yet or sure what to do in regards to someone who found her not only non-repulsive, but even pretty. Though compliments or no that didn't stop the Doctor from tensing as the Spirits power flowed through Kan. The man looking amazingly better for it as the Woman bustled forward carefully peeling the bandages back away from her companion's eyes.
"Hold still. Open them slowly. They may be sensitive if he did manage to heal them. Any sign of damage though and these go right back on understand?" Cas murmured fussing with surprising gentleness over the scarred up Spirit User. She supposed they were two of a pair in that way. Both wearing the marks of their trauma and survival burned into their flesh.

"Mm. I see. Well, it suits just as much as this. Which is which is still up to you after all."
The spirit shrugged a little bit before the addressing of his user. Kan's hands flexed and shifted around the digivice he was holding still. His breath was ragged not from issues breathing but from that sudden pulse of energy forcing his body to recover at a quicker pace than he was expecting.
As the bandages were peeled away the man kept his eyes closed and simply held still as the doctor peeled the bandages away. The man waited for a few moments before slowly opening his eyes. One side of his face, the one that had been a center more point of the strike had a nasty scar running the length of his face. From the top of his hairline all the way down through his eye, through his lip and trailing off just a bit before his chin. There were other 'injuries' that had received a more immediate treatment.
His blue eyes had never been as striking as they were now, not as bright nor nearly as blue as snyder had made them. They practically glowed for a moment before that 'light' faded leaving the man in a state of post 'recovery'. He'd look around the room before frowning for a few moments; looking down at his hands.
"Seems... to be okay. In a sense. How long was I out for? And... Thank you Doctor. I. I wasn't expecting to wake up again."
The man put a hand up to his head and gritted his teeth. There was a silence he wasn't used to. Snyder wasn't chatting as he had used a lot of energy to help heal the human as best he could. His thoughts weren't muddled by the voices of others, his entire existence as of right now was just engorged by it.
"Tch... Too quiet..."

"You've been in a coma for roughly a little over a week." Cas explained her voice soft as she took in the sight of Kan's eyes checking them for any abnormalities or damage. Her hand reaching out to very gently brush over the healed scar on his face marveling at the sudden quick recovery. The man was by no means in perfect health, but he had rapidly gone from deaths door to looking as though he might make a full recovery. The fact he was sitting up at all unassisted was in and of itself a minor miracle.
"You'll get used to the silence." The Doctor murmured voice soft. While she had never been a spirit user the loneliness of her own existence and the craving for company she could not keep had made her far too aware of the quiet. For the moment though the Doctor moved carefully peeling up the bandages on Kan's back to check the worst of the damage to his spine. Marveling to find twisted scars and still some burns, but the fractures she had felt before mostly healed.
