There was something comforting about the motion of a train, the side to side swaying of the carriage accompanied with the rhythmic chugging of the vehicle moving along the tracks. Chiaki loved the sound, the sensation of travelling along in the carriage staring at the world outside, it was a train that had first carried her to the digital world to meet Tatsu. It was...unusual really but the morning commute to school, the trip back, they some of her favourite moments of the day. It was a chance for her to sit back, to relax in the precious minutes it took for the train to carry her to her destination.
Today was no different...well today was a little different. The crowd on the platform was the same crowded jostling mass of people, each of them pressing and shoving as they pushed towards the trains, trying to squeeze on. It was bedlam, a sea of people allowing along their prescribed channels, and maybe the girl's least favourite part about the trip, only today the train she was looking for, well no-one else seemed interested in. No lights adorned the train, no crowd of people pushing to get in, it was completely empty. Blessedly so, the girl dropped down onto a seat, resting her bag on her lap as an inquisitive nose poked itself out of the opening, twitching in the air. "Can I come out yet?" "Someone might still see you, just a few more minutes ok? Then you can come out and run around the length of the train if you want." "I never run, I may saunter...but only cause this bag..." "Tatsu...why is their nail polish all over the inside of my bag?" The white virus-buster type Digimon had the grace to look ashamed as she held up her claws for inspection, "Seee...they're golden like my markings...what? I got bored, you can't expect me to stay in here all day with nothing to do, and you were the one who bumped me..." "Tatsu..." "I mean...it's not soo bad, and at least I look fabulous." There were times when her partner was so absurd the Chiaki couldn't help but laugh, even as she stared at the ruined contents of her bag. "At least you kept my homework safe....why couldn't you have destroyed that too?"

"The number of people on the train seems endless. It is as if a mountain had been tattooed awkwardly with images of people huddled together in rows. To the best of Justice's knowledge, this was everyday life in Japan. High school has thudded middle school has imploded, elementary has long sutured away. But even though he was a sophomore in college studying abroad here, he felt like life had just became a routine for him: Wake up, go to class, do homework, sleep. That was his life five days a week. He slouched over the seat and wipe the sweat from his forehead. It is an unusually warm Friday and the sky is exhaust, and it didn't help with the fact that he was in a crowed subway train.
Today at school was an unusually long one. He only had three classes today: Meteorology, Geography, and Calculus II, but each class, which were two and a half hours long each back to back completely worn him out. He reached into his bag that was sandwiched into him and another passengers and carefully looked into his planner on what assignments that needed to be finished. Before reading the mountain of words that was in his planner, an announcement on the speaker said that they were arriving at the next stop. He felt a bit of relieve as he felt the train slowing down to the next platform, seeing as he can finally catch a breath from being next to people for ten minutes.
With his commute Justice had to take two trains to get back to the inn--the place where all the university students from his school that were studying abroad were staying for the year. The train then came to a complete stop and people flooded out the train like a raging flood water. Justice followed suit and did a few stretches both continuing onto the next platform "Alright, one train down, one to go and then I can die comfortably on my bed," he said to himself. He could feel the fatigue slipping in. He didn't had the energy to do homework tonight. The mere sight of even thinking about it was making him more tired.
It didn't take long for the next train to appear, maybe only ten minutes, he didn't care. He closed his eyes as he sluggishly entered the train, took a seat and rest his head on the window. He was going to catch a few z's since the second train ride home takes about twenty minutes. But little did he know, he boarded the wrong train.

So, they weren’t alone anymore, Tatsu fell silent, ducking back into the bag on Chiaki’s lap, her nose poking through the side of the bag to stare at the man settling down on the seat across the carriage from them. If he got on this train then he must be a trainer too right? “I don’t see a Digimon…do you think he got on the right train?” “I’m not just going to go over there and ask him…that’d be rude.” “Well if you don’t then he might end up…well like you.” “You say that like it’s a bad thing.” “…” "I hate you right now." "I know."
The girl glanced up at Justice, biting her lower lip as she debated standing up, going over and talking to him She was still sitting there, debating the issue when the door to the train slid shut with a slow crack. The lights didn’t come on as the train started to move down it’s tunnel, picking up speed as light after light shot by overhead leaving the carriage to be lit by the streaks of light. It always reminded Chiaki of a scene from the old movies, the streams of light making it seem like they were travelling through time, or to a different world…which they were. You know, maybe one of those directors had actually travelled through this train, experienced the same flashing lights and took it back to the big screen.
A smirk lit up the girl’s features as she looked up, glancing over at the other occupant steeling herself before she slung the bag over one shoulder, pulling herself upright as the ambled over in his direction, hands holding tightly to the metal railings. “Hey, first time on the train? I don’t think I’ve seen you ride this before…not that I use this train very much, but…um right,” she kept doing this, talking without introducing herself. “Hi, I’m Chiaki, sorry, I wasn’t expecting anyone else to be making the trip today.”

Justice was greeted with the warm silent in the passenger cart from besides a few whispers from two people he assumed since he eyes were closed. He couldn't hear what they were saying since their voices were so low but he didn't care. It looks like the train rice back home will be peaceful. Finally some peace and quiet he thought to himself. It was a Friday and he couldn't wait to get home, take a warm shower, and melt into his bed for the rest of the day; it was a long week and he deserved some R&R before going back to doing assignments, well at least until Sunday.
He suddenly hear a somewhat soft voice talking to him, immediately opening his eyes and looking up to see a girl holding on to a metal railing next to him. She was the one of the few things visible since the lights were off. She had long chestnut hair that went over her shoulders. Dark enough to blend in the surrounding darkness in the passenger cart, but bright as day when illuminated by the streaks of light from the tunnel outside. She sported a soft smile on her face, telling Justice that she was friendly, but he couldn't help but to slightly blush. He stand up to meet with her at eye level, holding onto the railing, causing him to drop his bag in the process. "Hi, I-I'm uh Justice, it's a pleasure to meet you, Chiaki," he said. He couldn't help but think how messed his introduction up. Nice first impression Justice he thought to himself.
"Um, actually it's not my first time taking the train here, he said as he picked his bag up from the ground. "I usually take two trains on my daily commute. One to get to from the Residential District to Northern Shibuya, and another to get back home. Maybe that's what I get for living a little ways away, but I'm a studying abroad student so mistakes can be made." He made a few chuckles at what he just said, hoping that Chiaki didn't find him awkward or anything. He became puzzled at the last thing she said. " What trip? Doesn't this train head to the Residential District?"

He didn't know. The guy seemed nice, he was certainly as nervous as she was if his messing up the introduction was any measure of the fact, but then it wasn't like she had done a whole lot better than he had there, but it was becoming quickly obvious that he had no idea which train he'd found himself on. He didn't look Japanese, so his reasoning, that he was studying abroad made sense but, the girl let out a small breath as she offered him a wry smile, this was going to be an interesting trip home for him.
"Umm...no...at least not directly...there's an alternate stop for this particular route." "You know, you couldn't sound more vague if you tried right?" A twitching nose and a noodle's face emerged from the teenager's bag as she tilted her head forward, staring down at the boy cautiously. It wasn't that Tatsu didn't trust him, it was just she didn't really trust any stranger, she was perhaps the opposite of her much more open partner. Chances are the boy wouldn't try anything, but when first exposed to the digital world people could have all sorts of reactions and, if she was honest with herself which she invariably was not, Tatsu was kind of curious how he'd take it. The virusbuster type Digimon wrinkled her nose and glanced over at Justice, "Hi I'm Tatsu."
"So...well yeah. There might be a few things you need ot know...this train doesn't exactly lead to anywhere in Japan." As if on cue the train burst out of the tunnel, light flooding through the windows and the green fields stretching out to the horizon, with no trace of the city in sight. "So...welcome to the digital world."

"Alternative route," he questioned. "What do you mean?" Now he was becoming even more confused. It was becoming quite clear to Justice that he took the wrong train. But which train, he didn't know. He knew he was tired, but he didn't expect to become so tired that he got on the wrong train. This is what he gets for overexerting himself from school work.
Before he could ask Chiaki about where this train would stop at, he suddenly heard a mysterious voice coming from her bag. He glanced at the bag, and then to her, exchanging a bewilderment look as to what was in her bag. He was then greeted by a snake-like creature with large golden eyes looking right at him. He backed away and fell down to the floor in fear as it introduced itself to him.
"WHA- WHAT IS THAT?" Justice said at he point to the creature. A part of him wanted to sprint to the other cart of the train and hide, but since Chiaki had that thing in her bag, it must mean that she's affiliated with the creature. "Did that thing just TALKED just now?"
As Chiaki said that the train doesn't go to anywhere in Japan, a million things were rushing in his mind. He wanted to ask her where at, but was too focused on the creature that called itself Tatsu. But all that became even more perplexed as the train burst out of the tunnel. He quickly rushed to the window and saw miles of green fields, with no a single building around.
"THE DIGI-WHAT?"

Uhh, so this wasn't going so well, although to be fair, better than she'd feared it might but not as well as she'd hoped it would. "Well, it's a good thing he's sitting down." Tatsu scrambled out of the bad, her claws digging into Chiaki's uniform as the digimon dragged herself up the girl's back, to wrap around her shoulders, staring at Justice as she waved. "I'll have you know I'm not a thing, I'm a Tatsu...no that's not right, I'm Tatsu, hi!" "Chiaki sighed, gesturing at the virusbuster draped over her shoulder. "This is a Digimon and they live well," the brunette turned slightly, gesturing at the green fields that stretched away beyond the window. "And they live there, in the digital world." Reaching up to grasp the handrail Chiaki favoured Justice with a smile, "I'm afraid to tell you, we're not really in Kansas anymore."
She paused for a moment, letting it sink in before continuing, "Think of a parallel world, it kinda exists with our world, but separate from it too. I'm not really making this clear am I?" A hand reached up to run through her hair, "It's like this huge open world filled with intelligent creatures like Tatsu. They have towns cities and their own communities here, but only a few of us can travel back and forth. people like me, and apparently you so...welcome to adventure."

Justice struggled to process what was being said to him and just sat looking at the window. After blinking his eyes a couple times, he was able to take in his surroundings - which gave a very clear message. He was no longer going home. They were passing by a meadow it seemed, which was littered with bushes and tress, though none of them looked as they should of. The trunks of some of the tress were turquoise of color and had purple leaves. Some bushes had flowers the size of dinner plates. He took his eyes away from the window and returned his attention to Chiaki and the Digimon Tatsu, still processing all the information.
"Ok, I see what this is: I'd studied so hard today that I'm in a delusional slumber." he said nervously. He started to walk around in circles with his hands over his head, holding his hair in frustration. The more he talked however, the more he started to believe her. "Everything that I'm seeing is not real. Yeah, It's too fiction to sound real. Despite the fact that I do believe in multiverse theory and it's not out of the reality that many parallel worlds exist besides our own, therefore making time eternal and- Oh my god this is not a dream."
He sighed loud and put his hands on his face, coming to terms with the realization. This can't be happening he thought to himself, but it is. This seems like something that comes out of a TV show or something, but why is it happening to him of all people?
"What do you mean by only a few people can travel here?" he questioned. "You mean like there are certain people that are chosen to travel to whatever the heck this place is?"

"I guess so?" Chiaki span on a handrail, lowering herself into the seat next to Justice before offering the boy a shrug and a wry smile. "I've honestly never thought too deeply about the mechanics behind the whole process, but it sounds like you're on the edge of figuring out a lot more than I have after about a minute of knowing about this." As she spoke the girl's fingers scratched at the back of Tatsu's head, running through her partner's fur as she clambered out of Chiaki's lap to stand on Justice's lap, reaching out a hand to tug at his arm. "I'm totally real Mr, this isn't a dream or a TV show, but it could be. You guys have amazing TV shows, have you seen the one with the doctor who can't walk properly and is mean to everyone? I love it." The brunette shook her head, reaching over to rub the small Digimon's head as she offered Justice an apologetic smile , "She discovered TV not too long ago and well she's been hooked ever since. But, yeah from the sound of it it's more common than it used to be, but you must have seen it, the way no-one really looked twice at the almost empty train in the middle of a crowded station. I'm not sure how it works but I think that perhaps only a few people are able to perceive it, but that doesn't mean they'll end up here. Those that do though...well it's a brand new world, and you wouldn't believe some of the things they have out here."

"Ah well uh thanks."Justice said as he took a deep sigh. He has been looking in to quantum theory as of late, so seeing that he was on to something calmed him down a bit. The Digimon Tatsu then came to stood on his lap, reassuring him that all of this was happening and it wasn't a dream. At first he was a bit startled, but he slowly started to extend a finger to pet her. She was very soft.
"Wait are you talking about House?" he said to her. He was a bit surprised that she knows that show, especially TV for that matter. He smiled. "Aw man, thanks for reminding me that I need to re-watch that show again. I haven't watched it since I was ten."
Now that he thought about it, it was weird how no one at the station bat an eye at this train. It was almost like this was a normal occurrence, or that Shibuya knew about this world from the get-go and integrated a portal between our world and this. Whatever the case, he knew that he and Chiaki weren't the only humans here.
"Looking out right now, and it seems hard to believe that such a world like this exists!" he exclaimed. "It feels like I'm dreaming, but I'm not, and this is really real." Before he could continue, the train slowly started to make a stop. It seemed that they have arrived at their destination. But the question is where at in particular. He looked out the window and saw buildings that looked to be made out of toys. It was almost a child's daycare dreamland. "So umm, where are we at right now?"

"House that's it yeah, Chiaki even made me a lab coat and a cane, but she won't let me say mean things about her," the little Digimon purred, looking up at Justice with her large eyes, "I mean, if I'm pretending to be Doctor House, she should let me make fun of her," A pair of big amber eyes settled on Justice's face, the Digimon's nose quivering in pathos as she blinked up at him, "Isn't that right Mr?"
It was, by all accounts, a masterful performance that wouldn't have shamed the greatest stage in the digital world. There had even been aquiver in the girl's small Digimon's voice as she appealed to the boy. "Well sure, there's just one problem with that picture...I never agreed to be your Wilson." "But I'd be a great House or a great Sherlock...I mean everyone would tell me anything I needed to know right?" "That's not the point, I'm sorry, I really shouldn't let her watch whatever she wants to on Tv." The last was spoken to Justice as Chiaki pushed herself out of her seat, padding across the carriage to lay one hand against the window. "Trust me, it exists, and you haven't even seen anything yet. There are people here who will blow your socks off," she span to face him, grinning brightly, "You have no idea, it's awesome." The girl gestured out of the window, "This is...the train station," a light of amusement danced through her eyes, as she grinned at the older boy, "I mean, it's pretty much just that, a train station, pretty central, but you can get all over the digital world from here. It's kinda useful like that, or to get home and back."
