Fast as that laser may have traveled, the attack still had one fatal flaw: it was so obvious. Of course Commandramon expected that attack given the opponent's stance and species, and he was plenty ready to jump to one side at the drop of a hat, especially after he had just watched Valt stand completely still and absorb a missile like that. The only trick was going to be timing; a tenth of a second too early or too late would be very painful. So Commandramon watched the eyes; they gave everything away. And then... He swiftly jumped right. Shoot! Despite a near-perfect reaction, Commandramon still got the tip of his snout burnt by the laser. "Gyah!" he exclaimed from the pain; given that damage, even the glancing blow still felt like a full-on hit from a normal attack. If it weren't for his field medicine earlier, he would be dangerously close to defeat! How did I-? Oh, well. There was no time to worry about it. "OK, so that's Commandramon with Missimon. Let's try the other one. Defuse!" With the push of a button, Commandramon's missile launcher disappeared, leaving the Missimon exposed. They seemed to already know they should retreat from the battlefield, so they did. "Commandramon, MetalKoromon, standby for fusion."
"Ngh- yes, sir!" the cluster of MetalKoromon didn't, couldn't verbally respond, but they were able to loudly beep, their way of acknowledging. "Cross!" The MetalKoromon all became balls of light that flew toward Commandramon and covered his body, which began to once more grow. This time he stood a full thirteen feet tall but also became much wider in the process. When he was finished growing, the light faded to show an entirely different digimon beneath it: Tankmon. "Holy-"
"Autocannon!" The tank digimon pointed both his arms at the XVmon, at which point the smaller barrels began to shoot bullets at a frighteningly fast rate. Valt had better get moving or get turned into swiss cheese!
Commandramon + Missimon Launcher was glanced by XV-Laser.
Commandramon + Missimon Launcher slide evolved to Tankmon. Tankmon used Autocannon. Tankmon was healed by Auto Repair.
Armed And Dangerous is no longer in effect. New passive activated: Auto Repair. New Passive activated: Armor Plating.
Autocannon: The two smaller barrels on each of this digimon's arms begin to shoot .50 caliber bullets at a frighteningly high rate of fire. These guns continue to fire for four posts in up to two different directions at a time. While firing, they deal about 30% Tankmon damage per post in which they hit, encouraging opponents to keep moving maintain distance, and/or take cover. During the posts after the post in which this ability is activated, while it is active, this ability does not take up an action for the post. Cooldown: 3 posts.
Auto Repair (passive): This digimon's internal systems are constantly repairing any damage done to it. Every post this digimon gains about 3% of his maximum health each of his posts. This ability stops working if Tankmon is at or above 100% health. If this digimon is struck by a named electric ability of any kind, the repair systems fail for one post.
Armor Plating (passive): This digimon is covered in hard metal armor. This reduces all damage taken by about 15%.
Autocannon must cool down: 3 posts remaining.

Just a glancing blow huh, but that was all he needed at the moment. Valt's actual aim wasn't a direct hit, but the explosion that created by the impact of the attack to the ground. Spreading his wings, Valt took flight. His battered arms begging for rest, yet the XVmon isn't having any of it just yet. Valt followed up the attack with another roar to challenge the opponent that now has taken form of Tankmon. This time it's rapid attack, huh... But that doesn't matter. Suddenly, with speed unimaginable, Valt did a zigzag and various air movement that doesn't seem to suit an XVmon at all, especially with such small wingspan, yet Valt seem to take the sky like it's his domain... The attack missed its target due to his increased speed.
...but the reason for it isn't simply because his wingspan is actually bigger than a normal XVmon. Still holding his Coredramon line data in him made Valt all the still used to aerial combat. This bigger wingspan also good enough for him to actually fly toward where the dust has yet settled and create strong draft of wind to use as vision obstruction. However, it's seem that it's not going to work for long, if not absolutely not working at all. Regardless, Valt would dive toward the massive crack created by his attack and picked the biggest chunk of it all.
His experience with Tankmon said that this one might also have one of those cannon-like attack... so, his hope is to... Make this one work by tossing this huge chunk of earth, with his increased speed and strength, right up to this guy's huge face!

That ability again! Tankmon exclaimed to himself as he again watched the dragon's skills increase dramatically, He knows I can't counter it! I can only do my best to deal with it. Unfortunately, picking up the land and throwing it wasn't as slow as it normally would have been due to the same ability. The best that Tankmon was able to do was lower his head and point the armored part of it toward the projectile. It still had the power to send Tankmon rolling back even though he wasn't trying to, but it sure beat a broken jaw (even if he was starting to really feel the fatigue)! Through it all, the armor digimon tried his best to keep all four machine gun barrels trained on the dragon digimon; no matter how fast he was, there was still the chance of a simply lucky shot.
There was another reason Tankmon was still trying to stay on target, though: The most vulnerable time for an opponent is just before he attacks. So, this time, Tankmon was patient. He slowed down the pace of battle best he could by trying not to attack... at least, not until the moment was right. Just when he thought the XVmon was going to make a move, each of his arms shot a tank shell out of the larger barrels while all the while the smaller ones kept on spraying bullets.
Tankmon was hit by Valt's giant rock. Armor Plating reduced the damage taken.
Tankmon attacked Valt with Double Gun. Tankmon continued attacking Valt with Autocannon.
Tankmon was healed by Auto Repair.
Armor plating (passive): This digimon is covered in hard metal armor. This reduces all damage taken by about 15%.
Double Gun: This digimon shoots one tank shell out of one arm's main barrel, then another out of its other arm. The impacts of the shells and explosions deal damage.
Autocannon: The two smaller barrels on each of this digimon's arms begin to shoot .50 caliber bullets at a frighteningly high rate of fire. These guns continue to fire for four posts in up to two different directions at a time. Problem with some of the Tankmons, he never actually really saw them to be able to rotate their body all that fast. Sure they could turn their necks easily, but he have never seen any of these Digimons actually able to twist their body fast like tank turrets does. If they can, he already anticipated it, but Valt decided that the best course of action is to keep flying, dodging the bullets attacked him. Valt however know, if he keeps flying endlessly like this, he's going to tire himself out, so... he decided in a feint.
For a moment, he slowed down... crossed his arm on his chest... and there it was! The cannons attack! Valt would suddenly unravel his arms and rise just slightly above the big guns. It does indeed make him hit by some of the smaller bullets, but the explosion from the impact of the cannon bullets behind him, thus creating draft of wind that made him flew faster! Valt immediately took the flight to where the sun is, then without hesitation, he fled toward it so that his back is facing against the sun. Hopefully, the guy had followed him up to this point. And with no hesitation...
"XV LASER!!!"
Valt unleashed the attack, hopefully this time around it would score him a direct hit!

Damnit! How do we drop this guy? Tadayoshi's curses were very few and very far between even after all the battle he'd seen in the digital world, but none of it had prepared for him for an opponent like this. Somehow, even that couldn't prepare Tadayoshi or apparently Tankmon for how to deal with an immovable object, an unbreakable wall. No amount of cleverness could seem to overcome this brute, a fact with which the young general struggled hard, cognitive dissonance setting in.
Tankmon was tired. Even if he wasn't he didn't have the speed or even the brute force to overcome the dragon's next attack, much as that pained him. And yet, despite that... the laser missed its target anyway. There was no skill in that, though; that only happened because its target disappeared only to be replaced with a Commandramon and the cluster of MetalKoromon that had armored him. Apparently this was not intentional on their part, for as the MetalKoromom began to beep irritably, Commandramon looked at his own paws like he hadn't expected to see them. "What...?"
"That's enough!" Tadayoshi covered his face with his arms as the laser sailed over the smaller targets and landed harmlessly on the ground behind the targets but in front of the general. "It's over! We lose."
"General!" Commandramon tried to protest.
"You're welcome, Top!"
"You're giving up too easily!"
"This is a spar! It ain't worth dying over."
Commandramon bit his lip. Tadayoshi did, too, actually, as both felt that the other was also right. The Missimon did not help matters by all simultaneously shouting the insult, "Losers!" at their own teammates. That got them both to frown, but Yoshi seemed worse affected, having to turn around and wipe something from his face before turning back with a stern expression.
"It's over, you two," he called to the Tamer and partner, "Stand down!"

Valt is already in his last legs. The adrenaline is growing dull. Pain began to settle in and the first sign of it was his arms that starting to tremble as it bleeds more. Tiredness is not so obvious in the dragon's face... but probably the reason for it was because he's too used to go on for days in form higher than this. Even so, he was out of commission about few years of Digital World time. he's still dulled very significantly. The moment the attack about to hit, he saw how the Digimon split into two.
Saved by towel toss huh, I'm not proud of that.
There's very little he could do the moment the buff done. He fell to the ground with a heavy thud, finally able to breathe heavily. If this is a real battle, adrenaline probably would still allow him three exchanges if not five, but he now know how completely out of shape he is. Ryouta immediately vaulted off to check on his partner. With a weak grin, Valt signed that he's not feeling all that good. However, the moment they said dying, Valt squinted.
The addition of 'stand down' made him more cross however.
"...You're acting as if we're some enemies or in serious battle," Valt countered. "There's no need for that tone, buddy. Your main partner did a number on me honestly... so he was right. You could win. In fact if you score a hit when my strength wear down then you'll win, but regardless, I guess having a buffing skills kind of change the game a lot. Trust your partner more, you'll be golden."
And then he looked at the bunch of Missimons. "And you, don't change your tones too fast. Last thing someone need is or their entire action to be judged. I don't care whether you're new addition to the team or not, you guys are a team. I'm not telling you guys to be buddy buddy immediately, but at least give respect when it's due."
He returned his glance to the Commandramon. "Nice fight. Thanks to you I know what I'm missing. The flashbang on the beginning was on spot. The only reason I know what to do was because I'm friends with another Commandramon. She's kind of sloppy at times, but she's more to a sniper. Bombs was one of her tactic. You're smart to not use another of those bombs after its failure. By then I already tracked your scent."
By this time, Ryouta done bandaging Valt's arms. "Whew, did you learn anything new in this fight, Aniki? Got a bit of your groove back?"
"...What I know is just that you're a battle maniac," Ryouta jabbed lightly "...but I guess we're really out of it. Me, especially. During the battle I can't really give any strategic viewpoint."
"That's fine in itself, because this is not a serious battle. You'll get it back, don't worry," Valt gave his partner thumbs up. "Well, you guys, got anything to say?"

"Back-"
"off-"
"-bub!"
"You-"
"-know-"
"-squat!" Apparently, the Missimon weren't eager to take advice from these strangers, but they especially didn't want their behavior criticized by anyone.
And yet, Tadayoshi agreed with them despite their past and present impertinence. "I was just trying to make sure you didn't loose another attack in the heat of battle. You didn't," was how he took the criticism of his own language. "Look, I conceded you're the better fighter in this sporting scenario-" Tadayoshi seemed to think that distinction was very important form the way he emphasized it. "-but that doesn't give you the right to talk down to us or to me like we're the children and you the adult. Take the win with a little grace!"
At least Commandramon had a slightly better attitude about the whole ordeal. Tadayoshi had knelt beside him, but the dragonoid waved the General off to instead apply his own medical treatment to himself. "Don't be a child," he scolded his General, "Advice should be evaluated on its truth, not its source." But for Valt, he had this: "Is that how you found me? Your nose is commendable if it can smell me through that much smoke." After he'd finished patching himself up, Commandramon then began the cumbersome process of filling his magazine with bullets to replace the ones he'd fired. "In a real fight, I believe Renamon and Hagurumon would have fused to support me. Perhaps we would have even tried a three-digimon fusion. Still, it's important to know our own individual limits as well. The General fused me too soon and later gave up too soon. General, it's good to retreat when your position is untenable, but I can't have you running away while there's still hope. You must acquire the sight to know the difference." This time Tadayoshi was well and truly scolded; it meant a lot more coming from his own partner. "All the same, you two, it's not your place to lecture us on our teamwork. I promise you we have the utmost respect for each other in the moments where it counts." Finishing his work, Commandramon reloaded his weapon. "Now, then." Commandramon grunted with some pain as he bowed before the opponents but nevertheless told them, "Thank you for the fight."

The Vmon just sighed. "I'm not that much of an inexperienced gecko that doesn't know what is a white flag and what is a tactic to make me drop my guard. Geez... have I really fallen that low in strength? Oh well... I guess I'll just need to train more. Also I'm not talking down on you. Guess you have no idea but in match, in shogi for example, there is something that known as post-mortem analysis. This is why I'm asking if you guys have something to say to us. Criticizing one another to build experience is not 'rubbing in the salt'."
"Though I guess his bluntness might sounds like that, but he doesn't mean to talk down to you guys. Sorry if he sounded like that," Ryouta interjected in "To him, there is no absolute victory. True victory is only one should one learn more from a spar. With that logic, even a loser can be victorious. It's just matter of perspective. In real fight of course the scenario will be different... but I-- no, we just some really meddling kids I guess, heh."
"Bad habit dies hard, even when you're kind of amnesic huh Aniki?" Valt teased. "... It's really a good match. I hope to battle with you guys again when I'm stronger. I've been really out of my groove, but looks like I can learn more now. If you happened to meet a female sassy Commandramon with a Black Guilmon brother that sounds like he always getting her nerves, do tell them that Ryu says hi, alright? I have no idea if they're around, though... well, see ya! Hope our next meeting will be more pleasant!"
