Charon nodded. This sounded all logical to him. "I trust your word on this, Daughter of Sun and Sea. You have met more humans in your shorter life than I have in the eons spanning mine."
Jiro heaved a bitter sigh. "Ah, I wish my parents weren't like that...they're really bad people, but they're so smart, they could do so much good..." Otohime just hugged him again. "Oh, forget the fuckers, they're not worth your time! We're your family now! Me, teach, and Nao, too!" This, and Naoko's expression of relief, made the Wormmon snivel and cry. "Th-th-thank you, everyone..." Charon laughed with his deep, sonorous voice. "I do enjoy a happy end. Can I offer you three some food? Or do you wish to leave now?"

"Of course. Yet, though I've met more, I will concede that I...do wish I knew them a little better. Alas, only time may rectify such a thing, Charon." Titania shrugged. "Like I said, they're...strange to me."
Naoko offered a nod towards Jiro. "Then it's as Ryuko says. The bonds you've made with her are more important than them right now." ...Wow, now everybody was crying, huh? Naoko simply tried her best to hug the two of them. Her height made that pretty easy, in fact!
Yet, both tamer and partner gave a glance towards Charon as he spoke. Naoko, of course, had a pretty good idea. "...Some food would be nice. Charon, know how to make bento?"

Otohime happily accepted the hug from Naoko. For all she cared, everything was back to happiness and normality.
As for Charon, he scratched his chin. "Hm, no, I cannot say I have ever made bento. However, perhaps you could teach me? Then I can make Bento for us all, and we can enjoy a small meal before I escort you back to your boats." With more wavings of his hands, he brought forth all sorts of kitchen utensils and tables and chairs from his house. The Gnomes immediately began decking out the latter with cutlery and tablecloth. All in all, their time here had been...remarkably nice considering this was the Dark Area. Certainly, this Daemon was one of a kind.

"Of course I can teach you!" Naoko stated, releasing Otohime from that vice grip of a hug. Teaching a demon how to cook, while not on the list of things Naoko had wanted to do before she died, was far simpler than she had imagined. After all, bento in and of itself was simple to make. Rice and things you think might taste good as well as a box were all you needed.
All in all, enough bentos were made to accommodate everyone present, though the contents of the boxes had been left entirely up to Charon. He was the chef, after all! Titania and Naoko meanwhile sat at the table, ready to at least get a bite to eat before they went on home.

Charon was a receptive learner, and soon got the hang of the bento, making enough to feed everyone on the island. His bashful deference to Naoko's teaching was oddly cute, considering he was a 9ft tall demon. It was...a nice dinner, all things considered. This whole trip, while tense and unnerving, had a rather nice and cheerful end. Instead of losing Otohime to the Dark Area, Naoko had gained somewhat of a friend, an island of calm and kindness in the unrelenting darkness and danger that was the Dark Area. And Otohime managed to reunite with Jiro, too. As Charon made good of his promise and escorted the three back to their boats, several tons of weight fell off their back. A journey of danger and grief had ended in cheer and happiness. What were the odds.
