Chenjin was very happy that the group had accepted him! Not a lot of students at this school were very nice, so it was quite a surprise to find some people so accepting of him! Even Tadayoshi seemed okay with him being in the group!
"Hmph... look at that," A snobby short-haired girl said to her friends, loud enough for the large group to hear them, "all the weirdos have decided to gather up together. Guess that leaves at least three or four competent groups."
"You know, that's not very nice," Chenjin spoke up to her. "I think you should apologize."
"So? Look, anime-hair, I'm not here to make friends. I honestly don't give a crap what you think about me... you're the one with outlandish hair. You too, Grimace and Miss Yandere. What, is dying hair in season or something?"
"Come on mate, lay off," Johan tried telling the girl, hoping there was no further conflict. "You have your group, we have ours. We did nothing to you, so can you please just leave us alone?"
"Whatever," the girl said, rolling her eyes before going back to her friends.
After that, Johan turned back to the rest of his group. "I hope you lot aren't too offended. It's probably best to ignore her."
"I don't know... she seemed so sad... I'm going to try and talk to her later!"
The teacher then decided it would be a good idea for the students to introduce themselves and where they came from. After Colin introduced himself, it was Johan's turn now. The young boy got up and spoke with a British accent. "Hullo. My name is Johan Walker, and I am from Minneapolis, Minnesota. My parents were both raised in Kensington, so that is why I have a British accent despite being a U.S. Citizen. Minnesota is one of the coldest states in the United States, yet it can also be one of the hottest depending on the season."
When it was Chenjin's turn, he spoke up as well. "Hi there! My name is Chenjin Takada. I am from a resort island off the coast of Japan. My mama and papa are amazingly rich, but I wanted to come to a school in Tokyo instead of a private school over there. It's really nice to meet you all!"
"Over-zealous much?" The snob muttered under her breath, earning a glare from Johan.

"I'm not offended," the Xros General assured Johan with a frown, "but I'll warn you once, Chenjin: the path you want to take is just about the absolute worst one in front of you. That's not the way to deal with scum of the earth like that." Tadayoshi didn't even have to look at Commandramon to be certain that he was silently nodding in approval. From there, though, Tadayoshi sat down quietly and listened. What else could he do, after all? Much as Tadayoshi would have liked to sic a digimon on that girl, he knew he couldn't... at least, not in the open.
The teenage General was actually rather impressed with Chenjin's cover, although he supposed it might have been more convincing if the digimon had actually named an island. Then again, the only people he really has to fool are the digimon-aware. As Tadayoshi was called on he stood stiffly and projected to the room like a proper speaker, "My name is Tadayoshi Teppei, and I'm from right here in Tokyo. Shibuya, even. I've lived here all my life, and since the rest of us do I guess we know all about it already, but, ah... I don't know. Did you know Tokyo has more than 250 Starbucks?" That was unfortunately the best Tadayoshi could do, so he sat down pretty soon after. I can already hear Renamon laughing.

Being split apart already? To say that Akemi hadn't seen this coming would be a bit of an understatement, but she was okay with it. They were still allowed to collaborate, so it was one big group in spirit! Anzu looked at the snob, a little dismissively, before her gaze turned into a confused look, before she turned back to her newfound friends.
She was fairly certain she had heard that in a movie before. She wasn't about to waste her time on someone who couldn't even come up with original insults. Couldn't even be specific, either. The redhead and the Englishman were engaging her, though. That was a fool's move. "...You guys do realize you're taking her bait, right? She's not even throwing out good bait, either. Like...none of those insults were even original." That was audible. Definitely.
Akemi took the time to stand and give a brief introduction to herself. "Hi, my name's Akemi Amaya. I'm originally from Saitama and moved here a few years ago. I don't really have much to say about myself aside from that but I'm pretty good at clarinet playing." She adjusted her hat before she took a seat. Anzu stood up when called upon as well. "Anzu Nakayama, I moved in here like...last year. I'm the undisputed champion of climbing things including but not limited to mountains and trees. I also have a liking for calligraphy and sleeping."

Lise was immediately unimpressed by the inputs from this random person in the class. While she had a reputation as something of a somewhat lenient teacher with most other misdemeanors, blatant acts of bullying like this was something she despised.
"You there. Get out of my class" she spoke firmly to the snobby girl. "That's right. Leave your things, wait out in the corridor. How dare you speak like that to your classmates unprovoked? How dare you speak like that to anyone while my class is in session?"
Lise would make it perfectly clear that she would not tolerate anything like this within earshot. If the snobbish girl refused, she would get Ark to escort her out of the room, and refuse to proceed until it had been dealt with. The principal would be involved if it was resisted any further.
Once that was dealt with, Lise would pay attention to the introductions of the other students. Johan was from Minnesota it seemed, but was raised by British parents. "Ah, that's very interesting" she remarked, impressed. "It's interesting when you think about the scale isn't it? If our origins were from a country as big as America, we'd think of our families much closer in origin if we were as far from each other as Northampton and Kensington. But, in terms of England, that's similar to say, St Louis and Chicago in American terms, and Shizuoka and Tokyo in Japanese terms, so to say?"
Lise's display made a huge impression on Colin, Luke and Bellamy. They noted her patience with playful messing around, but actual bullying, she'd come down like a ton of bricks, then just as quickly return to her usual mood.
Lise then turned to Chenjin. "Ah yes, and what resort island would that be?" she asked, curiously. But if he didn't answer, she wouldn't press further, she didn't want to possibly expose him too badly.
Next, Lise listened to Tadayoshi, who said he was a local from Shibuya. "You know, that's something I didn't know to be true, but yet I somehow knew it to be a fact" she said, smiling. "Yes, there doesn't seem to be any end of coffee parlours here, not that I'm complaining".
Next to speak was Akemi, who only said a few words about being from Saitama before sitting back down. Lise would have ordinarily asked for a little more info, but, decided to be a little bit easier on the class for the time being. After all, she was much more interested in Anzu's introduction. She noted that she didn't reveal her origins. But Lise might be willing to help her out with a story.
"Ah, mountains and trees. I take it you're from the Chubu region?" she asked, curiously. "Perhaps Tokai where the mountains descend to the sea? Or more inland toward Chukyo? Or perhaps a more rural setting? Like a town in the Koshin'etsu region?"
Lise wouldn't press her too hard, just hoped that she could pick one of those to be relevant to the class at hand. If not, she'd relent and move on. She would then turn to Luke. "Now then, where would you be from?"
"Hi there" Luke said, standing up. "My name's Luke James. I'm originally from Osaka, but, well, had problems with family and ended up being adopted by Colin's family, along with my brother Bellamy, could I please be excused from explaining more?"
"Of course" Lise said, gently. "Do you remember anything about Osaka though?"
"Well... the main thing I remember about living there is the Tsutenkaku Tower" Luke said. "Bellamy and I went there as children and the view was... just incredible".
"Ahh, yes, the Tsutenkaku Tower, I remember the view myself" Lise said, smiling. She then looked at Bellamy. "Do you have anything to add, Bellamy?"
"N-no I don't, Hamelin-Sensei" Bellamy answered, hoping that would satisfy her.
"Very well, you may be seated" the teacher said. "Now then, thank you all for your introductions. For the remainder of the class, I will give an overview of our lesson plan for this term".
Lise would then go over the outline of the term plan, handing out copies of the course outcomes to everyone. Following that, she would also let the snobbish girl back into class, but give her a strict warning that any further behaviour like that would earn her a detention. Following that, Lise would give the class a relatively free reign to discuss their first geography tasks within their study groups (as well as any other sundry discussion) until the bell rang.

Anyone in that classroom would have expected the student to resist somewhat, trying to claim that she didn't do anything wrong, this is unfair, "woe is me" type of schtick. But nope. She knew perfectly well what she did, and was expecting the consequences that were indeed worth it. Smirking, the girl simply got up and smiled at the teacher as she left the classroom. Hell, the only surprising thing would be if she was still there when Lise or Ark went to check on her. It was then that other kids would talk and whisper to each other in their little groups, without the teacher hearing.
"How has that girl not been expelled yet?" "It's the third time this month she's been sent to the corridor!" "What a total bitch..."
Either way, the class continued as normal. Chenjin was distracted by the girl that had just left the classroom, so he ended up not hearing what Miss Hamelin was even saying to him.
"Hey kid, she asked you a question," A guy from behind Chenjin said, tapping his shoulder. This made him jump and caused him to say the first thing that came to mind:
"Ahh, DigiNoir!" A couple of kids stared at him weird, before he continued: "Wait, what? I meant I'm from Osumi!"
DigiNoir? No way...
And now the class was given time to work. Miss Hamelin opened the door to let the girl back in, and the girl just rolled her eyes and walked back into the classroom, arms crossed as she went to sit down into her seat. Chenjin decided to break away from his group for a minute to talk to her, despite what others might've thought.
"Hi there! I'm Chenjin."
"I'm Rey. Now leave me alone," she said as calmly as possible, she already got her daily dose of worthwhile punishment.

The lesson overview seemed like pretty usual stuff, so standard that Tadayoshi was half-tempted to tune it out entirely. There were much more interesting things to think about for example, such as, Johan's face... Did he just figure out Chenjin is a digimon? No, too early to speculate. He could just be confused by the weird saying. Either way, I might want to have another talk with that guy. More 'diplomatic' than last time, of course. Then there was the matter of the three brothers. Confirmed. Good cover, but Luke and Bellamy are definitely the digimon between them. Akemi and Anzu are still a 50/50 unknown, though. As for the teacher and TA, She knows Japanese geography well. I'm inclined to believe that makes her more likely to be human.
As Chenjin failed to heed Tadayoshi's advice, the young man couldn't help muttering his thought out loud softly: "Big mistake." At this point Yoshi was tempted to talk openly with his comrades, but he still couldn't confirm that everyone there knew about digimon. He'd have to play this tactfully still... unless...! "I think the task is pretty straightforward here, but I'm curious about something. You three. Did you say your last names were all James?" He was talking to Luke, Colin, and Bellamy. "Do you have an older sister, Sophie? If it's the same person, I know her." Tadayoshi anxiously looked around the group before he tried to hint, "She gave me a job."

It was nice to see that the teacher was having none of this girl's...stuff, to say the least. Anzu let out a 'phew' as things quickly resolved themselves. When it came to introductions, Akemi didn't really like to give all that much out about herself. Maybe just reveal things as needed. Anzu, meanwhile...Well, it's not that she didn't enjoy talking about herself at length.
It's that she kept forgetting important details. "Oh, uh. Tokai! Yeah, that! My family's from there. Pretty cool place." It was most certainly intentional. Definitely. Akemi meanwhile noticed Chenjin's blunder. Rather than point that out...She just chalked it up to that being another Digimon. This was already shaping up to be weird.
...Wait, Tadayoshi knew these three's sister? Huh. "...Congrats on the job. So...Do you guys think this group'll do well?" Akemi inquired. It was painfully obvious she had nothing to really make small talk with here.

Both Luke and Bellamy raised their eyebrows at the word that Chenjin said, then the brothers exchanged curious looks. That was an odd word to say... yet as far as they could tell, this kid was actually a kid. Or was he...? It wasn't beyond the realms of possibility. Plus he was stubborn enough to try and insist on trying to be friends with that horrible girl.
"Welp, what can ya do?" Bellamy muttered to Colin and Luke. It wasn't their business what went on, plus the teacher had made it very clear that any conflict was not welcome in the classroom.
Their attention turned to Tadayoshi, who noted that their surnames were 'James', and they asked about Sophie. He mentioned that he had a job with her, which made the three of them stare.
"You mean... you're with AE-" Bellamy began before Colin tapped his leg with his foot. "A...kihabara hobby store? Nice stuff!" the disguised Impmon corrected himself mid-sentence.
"That's great, Tadayoshi. Sophie asked us to work for her too a few days ago" Colin answered his classmate. "I'm surprised we haven't met yet, but, I suppose we will once we go through orientation".
Luke meanwhile turned to Akemi. "I think we will. If you guys need any help, I'm happy to assist. I got an A in geography last year"
"Hee, Lukey the super-nerd" Bellamy said playfully. "But seriously, he saved my ass with that-"
"Language please..." Lise warned.
"Ah, sorry, saved my butt with that end of year exam" Bellamy said, realizing he had to behave himself a bit better in a class setting. Colin was grateful that Luke was a diligent worker as well, and kind enough to help others out instead of maximizing his own marks.
For her part, Lise was satisfied with the answers the digimon made to their introductions. Some were a bit odd, but, as long as the digimon behaved like students, she would tolerate their presence.
The rest of the class involved planning out assignments and brainstorming ideas before, seemingly all too quickly, the bell rung, indicating morning break.
"Very well, no homework this week, however I would advise your study groups to get together sometime to discuss the subject of your first assignment" Lise said, which involved a group presentation and report about a major city outside of Japan with at least 5 million residents, due in 10 weeks. Before long, Colin and his partners made to leave the class, but Bellamy turned to the others they had met today.
"Hey guys, wanna hang out with us for morning break?" he asked Johan, Chenjin, Tadayoshi, Akemi and Anzu. "We generally hang out on the roof garden if ya wanna join us".

Chenjin could sense the other Digimon in this classroom. He knew that there were others like him in this class. His slip-up was pretty much confirming what his identity was, and he decided it was time to come clean to those that knew.
As he was walking up to the twins and Tadayoshi, Johan was growing overly suspicious of both the latter and Chenjin. Johan had seen Tadayoshi's Xros Loader fall out, and Chenjin shouted the word DigiNoir in the middle of the class. Only those involved with the Digital World would even know what that was. He scooted closer to the conversation, in an attempt to eavesdrop on what the group was saying.
As it turned out, it was the smart thing to do. Johan caught the purple-haired kid make a slip up, almost similar to Chenjin's. By deductive reasoning, Johan concluded that he was originally going to say "AEGIS," the organization that Dokamon had told him about, which essentially keeps order between the two worlds.
Of course, that subtlety went right over Chenjin's head. "A kihabara store? I thought you worked with that agency AEGIS, Tadayoshi?"
Those words alone caused Johan (and Dokamon) to go completely white with disbelief. You just... I can't... THERE WAS A REASON HE DIDN'T SAY IT OUTRIGHT! At least that answered the question of Chenjin's identity...
Before any more words could be said, the class had ended and Bellamy had invited the others to hang out on the roof with them. Johan and Chenjin agreed, although Johan was more hesitant on agreeing, since Chenjin had just dropped a huge bomb like that. When they were on the roof, Johan took this as his chance. He pulled Tadayoshi aside to talk to him alone, away from the others.
"I saw your digivice this morning," Johan told the Xros General. "I know you're affiliated with Digimon. Unlike the others, I didn't make it obvious until now." He said this as he pulled out his blue D-3 Digivice. "And I am guessing that all the people up here with us now are Digimon or Tamers themselves, correct?"

Anzu's failure to remember her own origin led Tadayoshi to believe, Anzu is most likely the last digimon, then. Luke, Bellamy, the TA, and Chenjin. Johan didn't obviously react to Chenjin's diginoir slip, and neither did Anzu. I think they're both ignorant. Colin, along with his 'brothers,' however, would apparently not be strangers for much longer. Besides being classmates, they were apparently coworkers. "You're a rookie, too? That makes me feel a bit better." Yoshi asked before amending himself, "Well, maybe not 'rookie,' but... new." He suspected Colin would get the double-entendre.
Then... Chenjin went and blew both their covers higher than any explosion Yoshi had ever watched Commandramon make. He'd seem some doozies, too. He gasped inappropriately loudly for a classroom setting and scowled at Chenjin. You little- we definitely need to have another 'talk' now! Tadayoshi was forced to cover. "AEGIS? Is that some weird European thing? I've never heard of it." Hopefully Yoshi's expression and intonation would help Chenjin get the message that he had just transgressed. If not... well, Yoshi knew how to help the message sink in if he could get the search digimon alone.
Too bad that was apparently not gonna happen. It was gonna be a group hangout on the roof, and Yoshi had no reason to suspect the others would turn it down. Chenjin and Johan didn't. What a shame; Commandramon could have straightened out Chenjin while Yoshi got to know his new comrade. Either way, though, he politely accepted, "I'd be honored to join you."
Up on the roof, though, one of Yoshi's suspected ignorants surprised him. "...You're good," the General couldn't help but compliment. "Then again, you didn't have Chenjin blow your cover. The other digimon in our group are Luke and Bellamy, plus Anzu. Colin's definitely in the know, and Akemi is still questionable. Can't speak to whether Colin's a Tamer or just their friend, but if he's in AEGIS he's gotta be something." As far as Yoshi could tell, this new group had the roof to itself. It almost seemed like a chance to let his own digimon free in the real world for once, but Anzu's awareness still wasn't clear, making it an unnecessary risk.

Anzu's nonreaction to the DigiNoir slip-up wasn't really ignorance, no. It was a far more simple matter of simply not caring. Akemi, meanwhile nodded and gave a smile towards Colin and the twins. "Great. Here's to a job well done, then." She addressed Luke. Anzu and Akemi both looked to Tadayoshi and Chenjin. Whaaat...?
She had more than a few questions to ask, and maybe they'd be answered up on the roof. To this end... "Sure, why not?" Anzu said that this time. Having been left with Chenjin, Colin and the two (because Tadayoshi and Johan were having a private conversation, as far as she was aware,) there was but one thing to do.
Make small talk to kill time. "...So, uh. Diginoir, right?" Akemi found herself inquiring. She had heard that little outburst.

Colin, Luke and Bellamy stared at Chenjin when he blurted out "AEGIS" in front of them all. However, Bellamy quickly decided the best course of action was to simply scoff at it as though it was no big deal. "Yeah, English speakers call the hobby store AEGIS, so what?" he said, shrugging. To his horror, he looked up and saw that the teacher was looking at him as he said that. Hesitantly, he tried to subtly put his finger to his mouth to indicate that he couldn't say more about it. Thankfully, Lise took the hint and gave a respectful nod in response, not asking any query about that.
Colin would then grin at Tadayoshi. "Yeah, well, we're new, but, a bit beyond Rookie" he winked.
After class, they all headed up to the roof garden. There was a bit of a chilly breeze up here today, so hardly any others were up here at the moment, giving them a nice area of privacy for the time being. In fact, there was an obscure area by the air conditioning exhaust vents that provided them with full privacy if needed. Plus, the air around them was warm, making it all the more comfortable.
Colin noted that Johan and Tadayoshi broke away for a moment, making him blink for a bit. But, not to be rude to their new classmates, he'd answer Akemi. "Yeah, Diginoir... apparently that's a delicacy in..." he was about to say "Terminus" but decided against it. "...Paris" he finished, awkwardly, thinking it sounded French enough for that.
Luke and Bellamy meanwhile were picking up enough hints that perhaps the time was about to come that they could be honest about things with their current company? Tadayoshi apparently was a new member of AEGIS, Chenjin knew about Diginoir, well, they were prepared to be honest if others were too. But they'd wait for Johan and Tadayoshi to rejoin them first.

Chenjin seemed to realize his mistake right away, as everyone else seemed to be covering for it. Chenjin blushed with embarrassment and looked down in shame before walking away. He didn't even speak to anyone on the roof, just kind of hanging out by himself.
"Yeah, only a few months of being a Tamer and I already feel like I've mastered it," Johan bragged before chuckling a little bit. "But in all seriousness, I still have a lot to learn. Not just Tamer stuff, but Digimon and the Digital World itself. I want to know every little thing about it, you know? It's like an impossibility coming to life!"
Tadayoshi began to explain who else could be a Digimon or a Tamer possibly, which had Johan thinking again. "So they all have a secret relating to Digimon, and they could suspect others, but no one really wants to take the chance to just outright say that they have or that they are a Digimon. Could be a little bit of tension if they only suspect each other, as opposed to flat-out know. I think that I shall keep my knowledge hidden from the other suspects here, at least for now."
"Ahem," Dokamon quietly reminded Johan that he was still there, "I am not requesting to be let out, but I feel like I should at least be introduced."
"Oh right... Tadayoshi, was it? The Digimon I have is named Dokamon."
"It is a pleasure to meet you, Xros General Tadayoshi. Johan let me know what kind of Digivice you had, so that's how I know what you are."
Meanwhile, Akemi and Colin were still talking about that outburst from earlier. It was really beginning to upset Chenjin, but he didn't want to reveal his identity to just anyone. He wasn't even sure if the other humans had knowledge of Digimon yet...

"Good to meet you both, then. Anyone wanna say hello?" When Tadayoshi held his digivice in front of Johan's, all but two of his many digimon had decided to show up and greet the others. Commandramon courteously bowed, the six Missimon all crowded near the front, and the eight MetalKoromon... were there. Hagurumon and Renamon apparently weren't feeling up for that sort of socialization.
"Honored to meet you."
"What's-"
"-up-"
"-guys?" Three of the Missimon all spoke a word each.
But their image was then momentarily replaced by the words, A-H: GREETING POSITIVE ENCOUNTER YOU
"I respect your decision to stay quiet, but in that case, if you don't mind, I'd like to get to know my fellow AEGIS agent. You're welcome to come, else maybe some other day we can talk more openly." On that note, Tadayoshi walked to be a bit closer to the James brothers. "So... the hobby store," he tentatively approached, "I-" Tadayoshi corrected himself, then, by showing the brothers his digivice and the digimon who consented to be seen. "-we look forward to working alongside you." Of course, he didn't want it out long while the secret was still secret, so he tucked it back away then. "Sounds like we have our work cut out for us, at least judging by looking around. You guys must have caught it, too, no?"

...Okay, as grating as this beating around the bush was actually starting to become, it was actually quite amusing to just...think of things to replace Digital World places with. "Oh, yeah, it goes really well with...ah...Escarnumem-...Escargo?" ...Amelie was going to fucking kill Akemi if she ever found out she had cracked something like this, assumedly. Though, that blunder was definitely intentional.
Anzu just leeeeered at Akemi, before turning to Colin. "Probably one of if not the greatest drinks of all time, if I do say so myself." The disguised guinea pig gave a smug smirk. Yeah, she was having way too much fun with the small ruse.
