"Eh? Seriously, what's all your interest in this 'making me talk' shit?"
Even as Alice started to threaten him, he seemed more confused than anything. He mockingly raised a hand up, letting his pinkie catch at the inside of his ear as if he had to get the wax out of them to understand what she was saying. The Renamon was already crawling away like a pathetic mongrel, and the Wisemon was forced to protect his position.
That, of course, made it between Alice and Dorothy - except it didn't. The monster rolled his eyes, meeting that Aquary Pressure with his own blunt fist, a red whipping line seen at the end of his knuckles. He was a brute, yes, but not an idiot: "So you use the Renamon as a distraction? Bait me into going for that flimsy human - and then you swap places with her and surprise me that way?"
An easy problem to solve: he bent his knees, as if to heft two large boulders out of the ground - only to be distracted by something else.
Rain.
Unnatural rain, that covered the entire forest - completely against any forecast for the week. The Gigasmon froze at that, then stood back up, boredly cracking his neck.
"A'ight, I'm done. Go lick your wounds or whatever it is you uncaring idiots want to do here." He put up a strong front, but there was something that changed in his tone as soon as that rain started to fall.
But if Viktor and Alice just stood still, the Gigasmon would simply back off. Minus the jewels he stole, that small treetop town would be able to recover just fine.
Right?

The muffled sounds of talking parties. The cries of Digimon in the distance... truly if it were ever time to mark a lost battle, this was it. This foe was beyond Viktor like this. He couldn't stand his assault and he was left little more than a heap of whining fur and blood. Yet still, he refused to accept that this was it. The Gigasmon didn't approach and inflict further damage, he simply accepted it as it were. Viktor knew when a fight was lost, and this was it. He couldn't jump to his next form right now, or at least not with his current accepting of the loss. A weak, gurgling sigh escaped the fox's maw as he looked up at his protector and tried to speak;
"P...part...Partn..." he only coughed again and gave a soft whine, much like a dog in similar pain. Clearly, the fox was delirious, and for good reason! He was just used as a punching bag! Despite trying to speak, the fox would lay his head down and rest... the fight was over... for now.
"My jewels!" a voice cried out. Vaguely, it looked like the Digimon who hired the pair to guard his precious treasure. Viktor was just not aware that this was it!
"Hey! Wait! Stop you idiot!" Genesis was hot on the heels of the Digimon, trying to stop him from doing something they whole party would regret. Viktor lifted his head and watched in earnest. Not only was his word on the line here but now was his partner. As they ran to the beast, and as no doubt he'd line up some sort of attack, Viktor would stand back up, shaky and bloodied, but he would have no choice if something happened.
Godammit Genesis.

"..." Alice holds the pose that she used to attack, unable to comprehend what happened. Her entire body hurts, stiff and in unnatural pain as the broom slowly lowers and she falls to the dirt, a trail of red oozing from her mouth, barely able to push herself to a kneeling stance. Watching her opponent simply walk away. There's a cold, unpleasant look in her eyes, having pushed herself to the limit... And it still wasn't enough.
Maybe Dorothy is right that this connection is a curse more than anything else, she thinks to herself, looking up at the rain, unnerved yet too tired to push onward. "...No, stop." She states to Genesis weakly, knowing all too sell how fragile a human is in such a situation now. In retrospect, she's lucky to only have an injured leg. And whatever else has happened to her insides. "Dorothy? Where... Where are you?"
"...Right here. You two really are a mess... And so am I. Heh, we really screwed it up." She, too, is at the end of her rope, having went back to the more comfortable, familiar and stable witch Digimon. She clutches her chest, perhaps the least injured of the combatants, but now the most angry by far, not at who they were fighting, but her own Tamer. "And you. You're a real idiot sometimes..." She steps over to Alice and picks her up, letting her use the broom so as to prop the human up. "What part of work together do ya not get!?"
She glares over to the other human, the uninjured one, the one foolishly running towards the enemy, and a large, toothy frown forms on her face, the Witchmon rolling her eyes. "That's what I don't get about ya humans. You run towards danger, no matter how screwed ya are... Yeah, I'll protect ya guys if I have to, but I sure as heck won't like it." Looking back to the bleeding, ill wreck that Alice is and the rain, she shakes her head. "Personally, I think we should get outta here. Somethin' about this.. Doesn't feel right." Just in case, she readies something, but only for defense, knowing that something is off, but not certain what it is. People don't just stop fighting for no reason, after all.
"...What were we even... Fighting for?" The green haired woman laughs, already having questions about this rain despite her clouded judgement. "Is the world ending? Is the forest going to sink like Atlantis?" Maybe it's full of corrupt data. Maybe it's acid. Either way, she's far from thinking straight right now, weak, dizzy and undoubtedly a little out of her mind on something not intended for human use.
With no reason to keep fighting, the two simply wait for what happens next, given their unwillingness to fight further and the other pair's actions.

Right when they soured the pot... ugh.
As that Digimon, and subsequently that tamer came up to him, the Gigasmon gave a sigh. He seemed more annoyed than anything else, only a sense of slight agitation as he looked over his shoulder. A slight agitation that left the beast to think even less of those trying to reclaim their property. And for their efforts, the Gigasmon swung his left arm around, giving a back-hand that would collide with both the approaching, weak Digimon and the unpaired tamer that ran up with him.
Should it hit the tamer, the Gigasmon would give out an angry groan. "Oh, c'mon, what is it with you? Surely you've read the mood by now?" Yeah, this wasn't going to fly with him. He offered them an out, and yet these two decided to simply spit in his face about it?
Screw playing fair. He'd try and snag up that closer tamer - then look right towards Alice. "Really, I've gotten pretty tired of this game, ya kids. So I'll put it nice and simple: if you want this one back, toss your bag over this way. Don't worry, I don't want your Digivice!"

Genesis paused for a split second as a large hand would easily pull her in, effectively taking her prisoner. She cried out as she tried to wriggle from his grip:
”H-Hey! Let me go!” she kicked her feet, bit at leathery skin, and punched in anyway she could. She did everything in her power to gain purchase and escape this monsters grip. But likely to no avail. If the bite of a human woman broke his grip, it wouldn’t bode well for the beast Digimon. Even less so for Viktor.
Viktor...
She looked over to see him and gasped... no... he wasn’t? She looked over to the pile of blood matted fur and broken bones and fruitlessly hit him as she shouted to her partner;
”W-what did you do to him?! Viktor! Wake up!” she faced the much bigger captive and stared him down; ”What did you do to my fox? I’ll make you pay!”
Viktor grunted as he stirred then looked up to see Genesis in the arms of the beast, crying out for him. He spoke as best he could, pathetically looking up at Gigasmon: ”Release... her...” he spoke with a surprising amount of anger in his voice. He tried to stand up, but only gave a soft whine as he fell back to the dirt, struggling to even stay conscious:
”Let... her... go...”
Genesis reached out, as if by some miracle she could pull them from danger and free themselves of this. But as she watched him, she remembered something that made her a little nervous;
”NotredmodeNotredmodeNotredmode.” she panicked a bit as she watched with earnest. Her Digivice beginning to shine a brilliant white, giving off that familiar whistle as Viktor’s body began to glow with the same brightness. Then formed into that of a taller, more humanoid figure. Her first thoughts was to Kajunemon, but... without her?
No, as the form broke from its shining silhouette, it became apparent this was Taomon. Albeit silver in color and much more masculine with a bladed weapon to boot. The polearm was roughly the same length as her paintbrush, But was much thinner from pommel to shaft and had a simple three pronged blade in lieu of the the bristles. His mask was like hers in that it was a fox, but his was more angular, almost skeletal in nature.
He planted both his large, fox like feet on the ground as he pointed his weapon at the Gigasmon;
”Release her. Final warning.”
Genesis gave a sigh, sure it was comforting that Viktor had digivolved to the next level, but was he so masterful that he could take on this foe and not injure her? She knew she struggled with that form her first go around... and her opponent was a tree.
”Viktor! Good fox! Mind lending me a hand?”
Viktor gave a sigh, tucking his weapon behind his arm, then looking to Alice and Dorothy, his voice much more ‘crisp’ and his pronounced now;
”Relinquish nothing.” he held up his arm, ”Let me... talk to him.”
Viktor stepped forward, weapon at the ready, but still low as to not ‘set the beast off’. ”I no longer care for these gems, nor do I for that contract. You hurt her and there will be wrath unimaginable. I’m certain you are aware of the D-Reaper, no?”
He expertly spun his blade, almost as if it was engraved in his data, ”Agents never fully recover, they say. That red plaque will always be dormant in me. Same with her. Death is a perfect way to unleash it. Essentially? You’re holding a pressure bomb. One wrong turn, one broken bone and now you’ll be ripped to pieces. I’m not going to tell you to test it, simply because our problems will multiply if you do this. All of us.” he turned to Alice and Dorothy then back to the Gigasmon, stepping a tad closer:
”Be smart. Set her down gently, or would you care for round two?”
Viktor steadied himself, ready for a rematch if it came to that!

"..." The pair look to the bag full of loot nearby them and all the sparkling jewels inside, the loot that the Gigasmon had undoubtedly plundered from innocent lives. This is something the pair forgot about completely earlier, and perhaps it was for the worse. Without a word, Dorothy snags it in one hand, not sure if she can sling it over her shoulder due to the weight. "Pffft... Ya really want a bunch of goodies that bad?" The thought of a Digimon harming a human does disturb the witch Digimon, however. It's shockingly easy to end human life, something she's come close to doing a few too many times. "...What makes ya think he won't do it anyways 'n just crush her? Ya know..." She readies to attack, just in case, but does not, knowing that whatever happens next will probably be unpleasant.
As much as Alice feels like the entire world is spinning, she speaks up. "He threw a boulder at me before we even started fighting, Dorothy... I think that's a good indication of what we're dealing with." The green haired woman barely manages to get the words out before the pain becomes apparent again. "I don't feel like we can trust you, but at the same time, we're out of choices..."
The situation's mood changes upon Viktor's evolution, both relief and tension coming over Alice and Dorothy. On one hand, there was a chance that things could turn out for the better. On the other, the possibility of the fight continuing makes Dorothy uncomfortable.
Letting him speak, Alice is tempted to ask questions, but in the end, she knows they won't be answered now. For someone who has supposedly done actions against the D-Reaper, she's never seen it herself... Perhaps it's better that way, the wounded Tamer thinks to herself. "...Wait, so you're saying you two are basically biohazards or whatever the digital equivalent is?" She ends up asking something anyways, unable to hold her curiosity back. "If what he's saying is true, we're all screwed if you hurt her."

Ah, good, it seemed that green-haired girl understood. The Gigasmon gave a chuckle, the grip briefly relaxing around that tamer. She might briefly be able to tell that the bag was all he really wanted out of them.
Were it just up to Alice and Dorothy, it likely would have been that simple. But with a surprising bolt of light, a Taomon replaced that worn-down and beaten Renamon, the Gigasmon letting out a snort. "Seriously, what's all this? The spellcaster o'er there's an ultimate already, so you really think this changes anything?" If the Taomon had a way to swap places with the tamer, or something, he would have done it already. But as it was, he expected some sort of straightforward charge or some other kind of attack -
... Wait, Red Mode? The Gigasmon seemed taken aback for a moment, before he simply gave a bolting laugh! "Ahaha! God damn, are you serious with this 'high and mighty' shit right now? I think hanging around these kids has screwed up your head!" Right, enough of that: he simply tightened his grip around the tamer, audible 'pops' like cracked knuckles creaking from his captor's joints.
He wasn't concerned about Red Mode. This entire part of the forest was dense with the signal of the Sovereign's statue, after all - any effort to try and use that form would likely just leave the Taomon writhing on the ground. And that was assuming they even had it!
"But thanks for adding another condition to this! Go back as a rookie and hang out with that Wisemon for a minute. This doesn't concern you Digimon at all."
That tone made it clear that he was giving his final warning.

It seemed that the saying of "More brawn than brain" was very much true in this case. 'High and mighty' as it maybe, but it was true. Viktor had to stop and actually do a mental double take on his words... that was his reply? Even knowing he was holding a literal weapon of mass destruction in his hands. Viktor shook his head and stepped forward; "You do not seem to understand, so I will say it plainly; I do not care about your purpose, or what brought us here. I want my partner. You are going to die." Viktor a bit more, spinning his weapon and glaring; "That one might be the same level, but there is one key difference between us;"The Monk Fox spun the blade to the ground, dragging the blade along the dirt and creating a trail of fire that surrounded him in various rigid lines. The flames licked the hair around him as they burned a brilliant red. The fox then slammed his weapon into the ground and parted the fire to speak to his foe: "She is not me."Viktor reached out, taking a very large amount of fire in his weak hand and holding it to the beast; "You've made yourself clear. Allow me to retort."Without hesitating, the fox threw the fire at the beast, with Genesis still in his grasp. But he was expecting this, and aimed directly at the monsters feet! Despite being resilient to earlier burns, he would find this one much more intense. Genesis would get a little heat, but no more than enough to make her uncomfortable. Assuming the Gigasmon didn't expose her. If that were the case... the Gigasmon would find the fox would make good on his threat! Log: Viktor uses Trail Blazer. Meters used: 15. 2 post cool down.

The sound of something akin to a gunshot being fired into the air loudly, so as to catch the attention of everyone. With smoke in the palm of her hand, Dorothy blows it out, and looks to the green haired woman next to her, the Tamer covering her own ears. "Hey, Greeny, speak up! You're the one with the brains!"
Though still dazed from the fighting and all the unpleasant sensations it came with, Alice begins to speak. "Enough! If you two want to fight over this when clearly two of us are unwilling to continue, we could probably reach an agreement instead. Nobody needs..." She holds back a cough, not being in good shape. "Nobody needs to die here. We can call it a draw... Mostly. Firstly, will you let go of her if we hand you the gems? Second..." She turns to face the Taomon, impressed, but at the same time... Not willing to continue. "Are you sure you want to continue this? I don't think Dorothy's strong enough to go into Ultimate again..."
At the same time, this entire situation seems suspicious, she thinks to herself. Maybe he wants the jewels so badly because they're the source of his strength. That would be ridiculous, however, and she shrugs off the idea as soon as it comes into her mind. "Whatever... If you two want to keep fighting, go ahead... But if you two do, I'm not going to care. Next time won't be as simple as this."
"Yeah, it'd be best for us to go somewhere safe." Dorothy comments about Alice's current condition, exhausted and injured. "Instead of hang 'round 'n watch ya two flail at each other... Ugh, I swear you're more reckless than me sometimes, ya big dork..." She drops the bag of gems, halfheartedly tossing it in the direction of the fighters, grumbling to herself. "N' yeah, what she said."
With the green haired Tamer and Witchmon too beaten up to really continue, they have no choice but to oblige.

"Fucking Christ, you think I haven't heard that one before?" As the heavy rain poured down on the small encampment, the Gigasmon couldn't help but shake his head at the Taomon's bravado. "My boss deals in trying to cause chaos with that red shit. Go ahead, try it, it's all old hat to me!"
That one admission aside, the Gigasmon still kept his focus on the fight at hand! And as the fire was cast at the Gigasmon's feet, the rocky behemoth simply took a large step backwards, then circled around slightly to the left. It did manage to singe his feet, but the effect was largely mitigated by a thick coat of mud that already surrounded them, thanks to his weight.
It was about then that Alice spoke up. There was a bit more logic to her words, but the real kicker was Dorothy's comment. "Ah, right, someone finally gets it! Its only good protecting what's yours - the fate of this here girl's just dead weight to ya!" He laughed, almost proud of the Witch's words - and so he'd reach a compromise.
By that, of course, he meant making the choice himself - moving to literally pinch the wallet off of Genesis, before gracelessly dropping her off in the mud.
"Alright, do what you want. I sure as heck wouldn't want to stick around in some phantom storm!" And with that - once more - the Gigasmon would turn to leave.

With a hard thud Genesis fell into the mud, causing her to grunt out as she was only a wallet lighter. The only thing hurt was her ego. She stood up and trudged over to her partner, not so much angry with him, but with the fact that this didn't end the way she wanted.
Viktor kept his weapon at the ready, just incase this was a ruse. He was still fully prepared to fight this beast alone, he had taken on worse. But with his foe already ceding, and his allies reaching a compromise, the fox was left with little choice. He lowered his guard and turned to Genesis:
"Are you hurt?"
She shook her head, "Glad you didn't take the stand-off route. I hate stand-offs." she sighed and looked up at her partner; "Though you looked worse for wear when I got here. Told you to risk Ultimate out of the gate." she nudged him playfully. Viktor only rolled his eyes as they walked to their allies:
"You fought well, he was a formidable foe. Lesser fighters would have turned tail a long time ago." he looked to his partner and sighed; "We will investigate this further. Anyone who is after a singular, specific item has a clear cut plan."
He leaned down to the Green haired woman, his emotionless fox mask near feet from her face;
"What will you do now?" he queried. It wasn't to prod at anything personal for her, but it was to know if he had another set of eyes for this investigation. The more the merrier, after all.
