Well the whole the situation turned out to be more complex than he had signed up for, what was supposed to be a simple extermination mission is now turned a much darker plot. Even though Adam and the rest of the machines were, well machines Kazuya believed they had a right to live and thought their actions up to now were justified. The only thing that was bothering him is whether or not they were telling the truth to begin with, you see Kazuya is not exactly the type to trust others easily and he was cautious now more than ever, to him Adam was not exactly the most trustworthy person, he saw some eerie levels of serenity and elegance from the machine that honestly just made him uncomfortable and on edge more than anything.
On the other hand his partner Royland could not be further from Kazuya, the knight felt a lot of empathy for the machines and at this point he completely trusted Adam and wanted to help them and stop 2C who seemed like a crazy person. The knight gripped his weapon and was ready to say something but alas Yuuki began talking and the duo's attention was on him now.
Kazuya noted that Yuuki seemed to have sided with Adam and the machines, despite his gut feeling the man decided to do the same. "I see, 2C seems a little insane. And we do need time to adapt to the change of plans. And ok let me read this." The man then began to read the messages sent to him loudly, the man wondered what they should do next, should they follow Yuuki's possibly risky plan or waste more time ? Between those two option Kazuya made a quick decision, he took his device and was ready to type. "Ok guys, do any of you have objection with Yuuki's plan ? If so I would love to hear your suggestions." Kazuya said, the man was running out of ideas. So Yuuki buying them time is something he appreciated.

Rythix felt nervous at the idea Yuuki was suggesting. There were so many ways this could go wrong. "A-are you sure that will even work? This 2C seems too cautious to just leave things without questioning or monitoring them. T-that said...they don't seem to actually have any surveillance on this place if they're asking these questions. Wait..." he paused. "How...do they not? If they're eliminating groups that refuse to destroy them, they have to somehow know that they didn't do the job." he ponders for a moment. "...maybe this could work after all."
He looked at Adam and the others "How...good are you at acting?" he asked "Maybe they can be lured here, away from their weapon, away from their defenses, if we seem to be winning. Maybe if we gather items you're okay with losing and we pretend to have an all out fight, we can potentially fool them into believing the battle is going our way. Have some of your robots 'play dead' so to speak, maybe even temporarily remove some parts to make it more convincing. Maybe the humans can somehow take a picture of your bodies slumped over and 'defeated' to seal it. It could make them lower their guard and come here to retrieve things, whatever they might be looking for."
"...We may have to break some things here. You'll have repairs to do, but I think this plan can lure 2C here. I hope. I really hope..." he said. He felt insecure about this whole idea, but he felt like it was the safest bet. Yuuki didn't have to paint a target on his back and there could be ways to stage this battle. After all, 2C doesn't have surveillance here, so they wouldn't be able to confirm or deny what happens until they're outside "Though that depends on if they're that gullible....or if they won't just detect you all if they scan the area..."

Adam listened to Yuuki and Rythix explain their plans - though it would be quite apparent he wasn't too pleased with either. " I too have reservations about your plans. We don't have the resources to support humans or digimon for more than a few days, and there's no knowing how long until she can recruit more to work for her. Even if you could find a way to help her sister, she'd realize you were talking to us the moment you offer to help - how else would you know about her condition? And I doubt she would come here herself...her use of expendable mercenaries and long-range weaponry is evidence of that. She might be defined as 'insane', but she's still acting carefully." He looked right at Yuuki. "And just as importantly, I don't want you sacrificing your safety or life to save ours." His gaze went back towards the Honeybeemon. " There is another complication to your plan, Rythix. The field I perpetually produce should prevent her from tracking anyone within it, and not even I'm capable of shutting it off or bypassing it. It's effectively a hole in her ability to target us. But despite this, she's always known where we are at any given time. The first group she sent to us was before we even settled here, and she still somehow knew where to find us. No outgoing signals could get through without me knowing about it...so I don't think we're secretly sending anything to her. She must have some way of knowing if you've actually killed us or not...did she have any way of knowing how many of us were here?" He looked over towards the thrown D-terminal, then over towards Kazuya, who still held his own. " Perhaps you could find out how much she knows? If we know exactly how she's been following us, perhaps we could find a way to fake our destruction - we do have some of our deceased that could be used. Be careful with how you ask her, though; the least that she'll do is stop talking to you if she believes you're sympathizing with us." yuuki Kazuya and Royland rythix

Hmmm? Indeed, that's clearly something that he missed... how can the client know where they are? Tampering the D-Terminal or the Digivice would need more than just few minutes of the briefing that they attended. For now, he decided to put that theory away. However, one thing for sure...
"I'm rather amused that you cared about someone who was sent to kill you .... but regardless, I have a question. Pardon me for my short term memory, but... how many, if there is any, original robot that came with you? is there any one of them that haven't truly gain autonomous action and conscience? Or... how much likely is it that your creator's surveillance system is still in you? At any rate I only can think of those as the reason of why she could know that you're here... As long as the threat isn't dealt with, even moving would be too risque. Moving out from this room that is."

Kazuya refrained from typing what Yuuki suggested after he heard Adam argument which made sense, the man then leaned back on his chair and placed his hand on his chin, Kazuya found this situation a little tough, like being stuck between a rock and a hard place. "Hmm very well then how about this, I say we are in the middle of combat and I as a human is naturally taking thus I can respond. I could even counter her why are we not responding quickly argument with the reasoning of us constantly going from cover to cover should she bring it up. What do you guys think about that ? We need to respond to her soon, so I would like to get this matter done with as quickly as possible, before she sends another message." Kazuya said as he got ready to send the message should everyone agree to his suggestion, in the meanwhile he began to think of a way out of all of this.
Royland however rubbed his chin, there was something that bothered him. "Wait a second Adam, you said that the others before us were killed by her after they failed to exterminate you right ? The one thing I do not get is how does she know if you are destroyed or not ? Can she monitor you via device, or worse is one of your people secretly her agent ? I know I might be rambling and grasping at straws, but I simply can't rest if such a possibility is not eliminated completely. I really want to help you Adam, I want to stop anyone who's goals end up with others suffering for it, I swear on my spear that I will. But there are somethings I do not understand, and I would like you to clear them for me." Royland said standing upright, his pose is strong and confident.
Kazuya knew that Royland's were genuine and true, the noble knight is selfless and reckless to a fault, this is why Kazuya can't ignore his gut feeling of seeing Adam as perhaps not the nice person he appears to be.

Rythix felt a little bad that his idea wouldn't necessarily work, but he understood the reasoning on why it wouldn't. The others seemed to be coming up with their own plans too and asking the questions that need to be. After all, formulating a decent plan would be impossible with at least some knowledge on how things currently work. He listened intently to both of their ideas and tried to think of what to add, though couldn't think of much.
"Y-Yuuki is right. We need to figure out how exactly they're tracking us, because th-they clearly are. With that information things will be...hopefully easier." he said, trying to remain optimistic. "S-so yes, if you have any knowledge on possibly interior surveillance, even suspicions, that would be invaluable."
He listened to Kazuya's plan "I-I agree with Kazuya to send a message to buy us some time. His argument seems valid too, so with any luck they should believe it...though directly asking them how they can see us or know if the mission is completed could be dangerous..." he said.
Then, Royland spoke up "I-I think there must be something on the inside as well. An agent, device, anything that could possibly be masked or concealed. If your field jams signals like that, then who's to say that others don't have similar abilities...?" he hoped this wasn't coming across as condescending or repeating what was already known. All he wanted was for some kind of plan to be formulated soon "I want to help too."

With Yuuki's first question, Adam paused, even looking down for just a moment. " You aren't the first group to be this receptive and willing to talk, and I don't want a repeat of what happened to the previous group. In truth...I am the last 'original' remaining." There was a hint of genuine sadness to this statement. But he was quick to look back up, his voice normalizing once more. " Most of us were killed during our escape, and more died from the first group she sent towards us. By the we were able to settle here...I was the the last. Every machine here besides me, was created by me. What I mean by this is I'm the only one that even knows who she is, and I've made sure that she isn't able to contact any of them. I've explicitly instructed them not to communicate with any strangers without my permission, though I haven't detected any attempts to communicate from the outside - outside of your devices, of course. And I certainly haven't been sending out any signals myself, intentionally or not." That last part was spoken with somewhat more emphasis, as if he were somewhat annoyed that they were implying such could be the case. Adam nodded towards Kazuya as he asked how to best respond to 2C. " I feel that would be a reasonable way to delay her, though it wouldn't help us too much at this very moment, nor will it prevent her from contacting you again later. It's best that you don't hesitate any longer with your response; she may be getting antsy by now." Kazuya and Rythix seemed to have similar ideas to Yuuki, even if they worded them differently. "A ny surveillance equipment would have to operate outside of my field, which means there's no way for it to come inside here and observe us - at least, not without me knowing. Anything here would be intercepted by my field, and I wouldn't allow that kind of information to get out. I'm not sure how she would confirm our destruction...I doubt she would simply accept your confirmation of our destruction as evidence." But then what could be the best proof? How would she know if they were actually destroyed? The D-Terminal remained silent, though how long that would be would be anyone's guess. If they wanted to get any info from 2C, this was their opportunity. Kazuya and Royland yuuki rythix

...Then how exactly? He's glad to heard that Adam's field also stops any sort of tracking and undesired communication, which mean unlikely for it to send any sort of feedback to her without him saying to them that it's OK. Not to mention he's apparently the last original. So again, thinking of all possible route, Yuuki guessed it's not like 2C have ways to know where they are... directly that is. It's more like based on logical conjecture of what is the telltale sign that they're eliminated or not.
"...By that, I'm guessing that the only way for her to be sure of your demise is for her to actually send in her watcher here. Tracker device, something like that. You did said that you couldn't turn off your field, right? Then your existence itself is still a dead giveaway of our ongoing mission. Even if we say "we're surrounded and is in a battle", would you normally... let that info pass...? Wouldn't you rather not risk she sent some backup?"
"...Unless, actually, D-Terminal is that loophole," suddenly Hikaru quipped. "Just asking but D-Terminal is not outside your watch right? If it's outside your watch then... We might know where she is coming from."
"...wait, that makes sense. 'Still alive', she asked. She's your creator, she should be aware of your ability. Why would she ask us to send her info in, even assuming that we're in battle or still trying to get your trust? Wouldn't she know anyway the fact that you could intercept the message, and most probably could read the content?"
Did they got the bingo? He really hoped they do, because so far, the only device that showed the obvious two ways communication are the D-Terminal.

Rythix did his best to think of any and all possible reasons for how 2C could have been tracking them, then Yuuki's words clicked with him. "Y-yes..! I-I know little about human and Digimon connection, but 2C is still able to send us messages through their devices...have you intercepted any of those messages? If you weren't able to, th-then maybe it's outside of your influence a-and they put s-some kind of tracking program on them. A-A virus connected to her messages. It's h-how she knows where exactly we are...! But..how does she know if we completed the mission or not?"
It was a long shot, but he had a theory "The...the stones, maybe? Y-you said they activate when you pass by them...m-maybe they give off some kind of signal to detect us when they turn on...th-that 2C can somehow track your h-heat signatures from. T-that's the only theory I have though." he said. He worried it just made him look insane, paranoid, desperate, or all of the above, but if either Yuuki's theory or his rang true then it would be the first step out of this nightmare they've stumbled upon. Maybe Kazuya and Royland would have an idea as well. He hoped so because he was running out of those.
He looked around and still felt a sense of pity for the machines here. Exterminated with wild abandon, all because their cruel creator was going too far for the sake of someone they cared about. The sad thing was Rythix could almost relate to 2C in that regard. Still, there had to be a way to both save the machines and the data trapped within them. If he learned anything from the 7/71st, then even what was considered impossible can eventually be overcome with enough wit, patience, and fortitude.

Kazuya Oda then began to follow what he suggested and began to send the message to 2C in order to get her off their back for a little while, and then his attention was back to the group as both Yuuki and Rythix began to give their theories. Kazuya began to think of both possibilities but he could not think of some other possibility, the man leaned towards Yuuki's theory. "Interesting so, Adam what do you think ? Since you say almost everything here aside from you is made by you. These two things are things that are not made by you, I personally am interested on how she'd be able to hack our digivices." Kazuya added his input on the two theories.
Royland wondered about the logistics, of how 2C can hack the digivices. But he had an idea of his own, the mon worried that maybe he could have figured out something. "Wait Adam are you sure she did not install a tracking program to your person, like as a contingency plan. Maybe something that even you could miss, that would explain how she can always tell if you are alive or not. I could be grasping at straws" Royland said as he stroke his chin.

With Kazuya's message, several more replies followed in quick succession. >alright >b careful >they can be tricky >their leader is the worst >probs hiding behind all the othr machines >it probs looks the most "human" out of all of them >but its just another machine >u should be good when you break itAn audible sigh could be heard from Adam. " She's still assuming the worst of me...her hatred hasn't diminished. I suppose that'll keep her from talking again for a while, though it doesn't help us get any closer to a solution." But at least it was something. But unfortunately, it seemed everyone was starting to run out of ideas. Yuuki's musings and guesses did earn a moment of contemplation from Adam, but it didn't last long. " Your 'D-Terminals' are within my ability to watch and restrict. It's likely at this point she doesn't care whether or not I'm aware of your presence. She probably doesn't want you to handle things stealthily - all she wants is for you to kill us all. She must have some way of knowing whether or not you've completed your objective, but without the ability to see inside here, I'm not sure how she would do it beyond your confirmation." His response to Rythix came by faster. " Her knowing about the stone here beforehand is very unlikely. That would require her to know that we'd end up digging out this mountain in particular, which would also bring into question why she didn't also prepare any methods of defeating us." The first group was sent to attack them before they arrived here, which would further disprove Rythix's theory. " And if there were any virus attached to her messages, it wouldn't affect us unless you were sending them to us." And Kazuya seemed to go back to the old theory that Adam was unintentionally the source of the tracking, a repeat that didn't seem to please Adam any more than the last time it was suggested. " ...I already told you, even if I hadn't noticed a program within me, this field inhibits any communication inside or out without me knowing about it. Even the messages you sent and received went by my permission." But with that, that brief spurt of anger would just stop. Adam was silent for a moment, as if contemplating something. And when he spoke again, he would sound more sullen than before. " ...Yuuki, Kazuya, I believe you two may be on to something, but there is one question I have for you all; she had to have shown you how to get here in the first place, so I assume she showed you a map of this place. Was she able to pinpoint the exact location, or was it an area rather than a specific location?" If they were to recall, the spot on the map was definitely a blank area that was circled. But what would that mean? yuuki Kazuya and Royland rythix

Post by rythix on Jan 23, 2019 5:22:52 GMT
Rythix rubbed his head as he tried to figure things out. He thought back to the map and realized that it was just an overall area she was tracking and not an exact pinpoint location. "...She would know if we did it...if you were destroyed, Adam." he said. "It's your jamming signal that prevents her from doing anything. She just circled an area...a-and doesn't know exactly where within this area you're located. But she knows you're here because your signal is causing a huge hole in her sensors and that is what she's tracking, not any of us in particular. If you were gone, she'd be able to track this exact area for the others." he said. That had to be it. If it wasn't he wouldn't know what it could be.
"S-so theoretically, she can't do anything if we moved with you Adam, aside from attack areas at random. So that gives us options on what to do next...I-I think. Since if she could just randomly strike wherever she wanted despite the jamming, she likely would have done it by now...as long as you're functional I don't think there's anything she can do to us if we remain in your area."
He looked at the others "W-what do you think? Does that make sense...? I sure hope it does..." he said, wings buzzing nervously. This mission was unlike anything he's had to deal with before, but he wasn't about to let this beat him. He had to survive for everyone. The 7/71st still needed him. "W-we can make it out of this...I know we can. And we'll find a way to help Adam release the data when all is said and done...someday. I hope."

When Kazuya read the messages 2-C sent to him the man was happy that she seemed to have bought what he told her, and now at the very least it will buy them a reasonable amount time for them to formulate a plan. But what he was not happy to hear is that he and Yuuki's theories were proven to be wrong rather quickly, and when the man began to rack his brain to search for the missing link to the puzzle, it turned out that his effort was ultimately not needed for now, as Rythix brilliantly came up with a sound and logical explanation. An explanation that made both the tall golden eyed man and his lion knight glance each other and with a brief silent exchange both seemed to have agree with it. Kazuya then turned back towards Rythix, the man had a thoughtful smile.
"I see this explanation sounds plausible and it does clear up one of the many odd questions I had about the whole ordeal, and that was how would this 2-C person know how if we destroyed you or not. If we follow the logic of Mr Rythix's line of thought then it will be a rather simple question to answer, if we simply left without destroying Adam she will be able to simply track us while still be un able to track the area jammed by Adam. And this also explains why she hasnt attacked herself yet. Nice going Mr Rythix." The man said as the whole revelation began to sink in to him, for him now the next step was how to use the info he just received, given that the bug digimon's thesis ends up being correct.
Royland however was very impressed by Rythix, the lion knight gripped his spear with one arm and extended his other arms in a closed fist, waiting for the flying digimon to use his own fist and fist bump Roy, the knight digimon wore a lively and genuine smile on his face. "Amazing job Rythix, I would have never have thought of that. And to think you were worried about helping the team, we are lucky to have you my friend." Royland said the ClearLöwemon was obviously happy that they potentially are one step closer to solving their issue.
"Ok so with that out of the way, I have one more question. From the way you phrased it Adam, I am inclined to believe that you saw both 2C and her sister. My question to you is do you know what species she is ?" The raven haired tall man asked, he figured that information like that would be incredibly beneficial to stopping 2C, because while he himself may not have much use for that sort of knowledge, Royland definitely does.

Admittedly Hikaru wondered why on earth does Royland repeats his theory again and again. They have done it last time... but this is not important. The bee managed to say the missing piece of the puzzle. "...So in the end it is that, huh."
"...That doesn't stop the next question, however..." Yuuki added. "...That means 2C would know where we are. Even if they managed to notice that we're still here from the blank spaces in their radar... Which means, as long as we're here, we're safe from her... but at the same time we're in stalemate."
"In the end, it returns to talk about what to do, isn't it?"
"Exactly. As long as Adam is here, 2C will keep sending her lackey after him. Which honestly would end up badly to be honest. Now, I don't agree we should do any of the killing... but this question need to be asked: Adam, I'm sorry, but... is there any way to disable the jamming field? Like for example to transfer your consciousness to other body? Your memory and your personality shell, then deactivate your jamming that way?"
"...What are you getting at?" Hikaru asked.
"Simple, I honestly don't want to eliminate the whole robot here. It doesn't seem they have the wiseness of Adam either. The door from before easily tricked which led to this talk to begin with. I'm asking if it's possible for Adam to have a backup body without the jamming field... considering it's the only way for 2C to track him."
"...And then you mean, you want to present Adam's old, destroyed body to 2C for mission cleared?"
"Something like that. That way we did 'killed the primary target', Adam, but at the same time not really. We might won't get paid, not everyone will get out of here with minimum victim."
"...Why don't you just spread Adam's memory to the rest of the robot instead?"
"Because different individual reacted differently. If it's Adam with Adam's personality shell, the chance of him suddenly have a change of mind is low. But if we were to spread Adam's wisdom to various other robot, what guarantee is there that cycle of hatred won't restart? By then it's all out vengeance between the two side. Annihilation will be the only answer."
"...So he said... so what do you think, Adam?"

By that time, Adam had already come to the correct conclusion, but hearing Rythix provide the answer cemented it as truth. The lights from his eyes dimmed for just a moment, but would light back up. His voice was quieter, weaker, defeated. “ Yes...I fear that is the case. What I produce causes a hole in her sensors...I hadn't considered that she'd just track the hole. Even if she can’t tell what’s within it, if she knows what’s in it, she could keep sending people inside. Or eventually find a way to bypass it.” “ Unfortunately, the field is connected to my body...and it cannot be turned off. If she really is tracking me through that...then as long as it’s active, I’m putting everyone here in danger. The only solution to that issue is the destruction of this body.” Yuuki's suggestion definitely got Adam's attention. " It is possible to transfer my core to a new body, but that would cause...I suppose the human equivalent would be ‘reincarnation’. Our bodies store our memories and govern how we can interact with the world around us, so while it may be ‘me’ inside the new body, I won’t have the memories gained from this one, nor the capabilities. How I act will be different from how I am now. And transferring my memories to the others here...it would change who they are. Some may come to bear a grudge against my Creator, others may fear her and seek to appease her. And other possibilities I can’t predict. I want the connection to my Creator to end with me, and I want them to develop as they want." Kazuya seemed pretty intent on learning as much as possible about 2C. " In truth...I do not know what digimon 2C is. Whenever manual work had to be done, she'd send her sister to do it, or she would disable me until the work was complete. All I know for sure is that her sister fought us as a White BishopChessmon, which should guide your inference. She’s very secretive about her identity...though I’m not sure why she would hide it even from me, before I broke from her. An even then, I'm unsure if finding out what digimon she is will help you." While normally, Rythix's insistence might have received a more stern response from Adam, this one muted. " Releasing the data stored in us can only be accomplished by the destruction of our cores, which is the same as killing us. I understand that it may be disconcerting, but the data has been used to create life. We have hopes, dreams, thoughts, feelings, desires…we deserve to live just as much as any human or digimon does. When our time comes, the data can leave, but I want everyone here to live a full life. The least I can assure you that with the destruction of this body, no more of us can be created." “ I can prepare a new body for myself, as well as help fabricate the genocide you were sent to commit...but I need some time. You may stay here if you wish, or you may wander through our home. When the times comes, I will let you know. It should take no more than an hour.” An uncomfortable pause would follow. It would seem as if Adam had more to say, but every time he'd try to look up at the group, he'd immediately just look down. “ Now please...excuse me.” Adam would be careful to make his way out of the room, out where they all entered from, leaving the group on their own to do whatever they pleased. At least if they went outside, the robots populating the town wouldn't make any attempt to hide. Kazuya and Royland rythix yuuki
