The Queen and her loyal Knight (Armor Hunt) (Cion)

Thankfully, Sir Royland had recognized his previously rash behavior and had adapted accordingly. Naturally, Cion comprehended and could relate to his desire to deliver swift justice. It was a longing she felt every passing minute, both awake and in her dreams. However, to accomplish her missions and duties, the most essential one being the ASCENSION project, she had learned to temper her fervent soul to allow her calm mind to reign supreme over her existence. She did not advocate emotional apathy, quite the contrary, but efficiency and success had to above the primitive inclination towards celerity and convenience. An adequate leader knew and abode by that.
Listening to the Meramon, the restrained Arnimon was glad to see him complying with her request. Though obviously distrustful, considering the situation this low-life criminal was in she was inclined to accepted his words at face value. Besides, if the Astamon and his guards did not arrive in the stated 5 hours then the fiery digimon understood what adverse fate would befall him. No... it was obvious that he valued his own continuation more than that of his partners and future employers. His wish for survival was utterly selfish and abject, yet understandable.
Unfortunately, the nature spirit was too afraid to propose a suggestion on how to deal with him now where their interrogation was over. Fortunately, Kazuya quickly proclaimed his intention to keep their hostage alive to be brought to officials to receive sanctions as imposed by the law. Although generally preferring to rid herself off stumbling blocks, especially since they would reincarnate and have a chance to savor what Rosewood offered, Cion had no impetus to disregard her friends' input. Nodding, the silver fennec took a step back and folded her arms. "Very well." She calmly pronounced her assent - at least for the blue paladin to do the necessary deed.

Royland was glad he had Cion by his side, his temper and eagerness was something great and has lead him to do good things before, but to have a partner who was calmer is something that is more helpful than it may seem. Her demeanour and the way she carries herself was befitting of a leader and it inspired Royland the knight to act more cordially and noble towards their mission cruelty had it's place but not now, they prisoner Meramon has already showed signs of weakness and surrender. "Alright you have ended your usefulness, I will give you a chance at redemption but I swear on my honor. If I hear any more complaints about you I will make sure to end you myself do you understand ?" Royland issued a warning to the captured digimon, should he not heed his warning this act of kindness will be followed up with the lion hunting down the Meramon and killing him.
The fire digimon had a bad feeling about abandoning his friends but he felt like there was no other options left to him, he valued his life more than his friendship with his associates. "Y-yes sir, I promise I won't do anything like this again I will repent." The Meramon begged, he wanted a second chance at life.
Royland then started to charge his mace with lightning, and hit the meramon on the head. The attack was violent, but the meramon was now unconscious. Royland then turned towards the others with a smile on his face "Do not worry he is not dead, but this way he won't cause any trouble for us. So let us focus on the rest, we need to defeat two more." Royland said as he stood up, focusing on the next part of the mission.
Kazuya raised his hand as he wanted to interject, he looked like he had something to say. Royland turned towards him and waited to listen to him, "well I was thinking about this before, but they should be on guard right now. If we assume our enemies are not complete idiots we can use that on them, by letting Roy go on first make them assume he is only one here. That way Cion can easily take care of them any way you deem fit, what do you think ?" Kazuya suggested, he found his plan good but who knows there might have been something he did not think of that Cion could know.

Sir Royland's threat was... well-worn; as was the trite proclamation to pursue penance by the Meramon. The former was a phrase she had too often uttered herself, leading to the result that the latter was - a mere taradiddle. It was almost an unicum that people truly changed, for souls were usually stuck within a mind and body that was bound to a set path.
Blinded by memories and experiences, it was a miracle that even someone as unflinching and sophisticated as Cion had actually if barely managed to rectify her methodology to achieve her aspirations. Remembering the anguish she had endured, she doubted a significant shift would be undergone by the anxious nature spirit.
But it was duo's choice, and since the silver fennec sought to see them grow and attain a proper world view, it was their decisions, successes and potential mistakes to make. Besides, with the trust she had in her own capabilities, she was not concerned with the outcome of their task. It simply had to be in the good guys' favor - there was no other viable option. Folding her arms with a neutral expression, she calmly watched as the ClearLöwemon hamstringed the fiery bandit.
Inwardly amused by Roy's statement, it was obvious from her relaxed stance that she did not worry of their hostage's well-being. Only the duty at hand mattered, not the villains that opposed them. That was why her focus lingered on Kazuya who wished to voice his thoughts, causing the restrained Arniomon to listen carefully. "An ambuscade... that should work with these savage freshwater delinquents." She even-temperedly assented to the plan if that was the approach her loyal friends and partners desired to take. Still, a short yet important question remained. "Lethal or non-lethal force?"

After the decision to spare this pathetic Meramon life was made, Royland knew that not everyone can be saved. But he still stood by his world view that anyone deserves a second chance at life, and whether this was going to be tested in the future is something this humble knight can not hope to know right, for he lacked the ability to see the future. But that was no longer the primary target of today, for no Royland shifted his focus from this lowly Meramon, to the bigger fishes that he works for. Royland listened to Kazuya's plan and nodded agreeing with it, his grip of his weapon the mighty Uberzegüng was tightened, his conviction was stronger than ever now that his goal was clear.
Kazuya on the other did not stop to humor the idea of him turning to a tactician of sorts, to think his hobby of educating himself with books like the art of war and the book of five rings would be very useful to him, guess it never hurts to educate your self and arm yourself with knowledge. The golden eyed man turned to Cion with a curious look, it took him a couple of seconds to think about her question and answer it. He rubbed his chin before coming up with a simple answer "I will leave that to your discretion, but I will suggest to leave the were garurumon alive. He will be useful to us, we can get better information from him and/or use him as a valuable hostage. So he has his uses." Kazuya said as he believed that to be the right answer, it was not a humane statement but that group of villains did not deserve that level of consideration. So with that done, the duo got ready to act and hopefully deal with this criminal underworld organization they found themselves entangled with. But now it begins.
Staying in a safe distance Kazuya watched as Roy barged in from the front door, kicking down the wall and letting out a war cry. "I am here to show you what happens when you steal, I will be the agent of justice that will deliver swift Judgement to all of you." Royland said as he swung his mighty spear and then striking a confident pose, to the two enemies in the shack, he was but a fool that was outnumbered, both Minotaurmon and Weregarurumon were unaware of Cion's presence at all.
"Boss I guess now we know why Meramon is not back, where is my friend ? Tell me before I kill you, you insolent heathen." The minotaurmon said, his face was filled with rage as he pointed his gun hand at Royland, ready to shoot him immediately.
"Wait, I think we should take our time with this guy. Torturing him and make him pray he never messed with us ever again, I will have so much fun with you." The weregarurumon said as he cracked his knuckles, the poor bastard thought he was at an advantage, not knowing that Roy had a friend way stronger than him ready to neutralize them rather quickly.

A non-lethal approach to extract additional information it was then. Nodding firmly to display her understanding, Cion quietly joined Kazuya in hiding in a proper ambush while Sir Royland did his rather amusing shtick to deviate their adversaries. The way the blue paladin carried himself was grandiloquent, hubristic and quite silly. If the silver fennec was not the way she was, a sentinel of trained self-composure and absolute commitment, then she would have began chuckling. Thankfully, the mission at hand was too important for such daft slip-ups to ruin their chances. As stated before, failure was not an option in her eyes.
Unfortunately, considering the ClearLöwemon was currently occupying the sole entrance to the cruddy, brittle shack, her view as not clear at all. Frowning somewhat, the restrained Arniomon took in a deep, inaudible breath and focused her mind to the situation unfolding itself in front of her. Hoping that Roy was sufficiently smart to realize on his own to step away and let the bandits come out, she tensed every fiber of her body and leaned slightly forward. With her right paw clenched, she awaited the perfect moment to unleash her violent trap upon them.

Royland the noble knight knew the situation he was in, in this house he is simply outclassed and outnumbered, there is nothing he can do. But here is the thing, he only needed to lure them out. "Hmph come at me weak allies of chaos, your fate has already been sealed. " the blue knight mocked the villainous duo, prompting an immediate response from the minotaurmon immediately raised his gun hand and began firing wildly at Royland, the knight had quick reflexes and managed to quickly block most of the bullets. But in the end the force was enough to send him flying out of the wall of the shack, and by the time Royland managed to get back on his feet, he would look up and see were garurumon up in the sky jumping with his leg raised as he wanted to do a downwards heel kick on Roy and crush his armor. Luckily Royland was fast enough to jump to the right, because the place he stood in was now reduced to a small crater from the were garurumon's kick, if Royland was a little slower he would have recieved critical damage.
Royland breath was heavier as he tried to keep two opponents on his eyesight and distract them enough for Cion's to beat them as quickly as she can, if Royland did not trust Cion whole heartedly he would have been nervous but the lion knight was as calm as he could be, he then gave the two enemies a smug smile.
This enraged the werewolf, he gnarled as the rage that build on him from what Astamon said to him began to reach a new peak of hatred, he began to see everything with a red tint, he stopped acting clearly, he stood in front of Roy and the shack behind the wolf who decided to let out his anger by Howling into the moon. "I will end this, I will kill you and rise to top. I will reach my dream, I will not fail." The were garurumon proclaimed as he wanted to finish Roy off as soon as possible, completely unaware of his ace in the whole, the leader he chose to follow, Cion.

As the mockery continued and loud sounds of conflict began filling the tranquil glade, Cion remained perfectly calm on the outside. On the inside however, she was feeling concerns for her dearly treasured companion Roy. Of course it had been his partner's idea he approved of and she knew of him as an excellent paladin, but he was still facing two digimons at once that simply outclassed him in raw might. Hopefully, the blue knight's experience and prowess sufficed to briefly counterbalance these facts so she could quickly interfere and bring this clash to an immediate end.
Thankfully, their adversaries' savagery permitted him to utilize his training to do as she had trusted things would play out. Allowing the fiendish leader to express his feral ire, a silver flash suddenly appeared between the warriors. With her arms folded, the restrained Arniomon's aureate eyes met that of the WereGarurumon as she floated in front of him, granting him nothing but absolute impassivity. Exhaling though her snub nose, she calmly shook her head, bestowing upon the raiders a moment of trepidation. "Wrong."
With this affront uttered unwoundedly, Cion snapped her talons in an easily comprehensible gesture of supremacy. In the very same instance, it was as if the universe itself collapsed in the nearby area. While her benevolent allies were completely unaffected, the chaos was nonetheless perceivable. As if consumed by an ephemeral singularity the flora was violently pulled to the epicenter of her ability. Naturally, this was the space her opposition occupied. They were the center of her space-time distortion; forcefully ripped off the ground as twisted gravity held their body parts stark and stiff, neither enabling them to move nor fall to the grass beneath.
The pain, although mostly innocuous, was certainly something they did not cherish. From off-site, especially for Kazuya, it was likely similar to looking through a broken, curved window as bodies visibly deviated into blurry, colored silhouettes. To the digital ascendant, this skill was of no effort, but it was visible that she did not smile with hubris and overconfidence either. No... as almost always, she kept her total composure, unwilling to grant her foes a quarter. Besides, considering the circumstances, she had no desire to gloat or smirk.
Instead, it was with silence and hidden solicitudes that she watched the lupiform leader - nearly glaring. He was everything the female fennec dreaded to one day become. Narcissistic, irrational, erratic, callous, zealous, oppressive, avaricious and so many other possible virtues that had decayed to odious vices. An adverse fate that had befallen plenty no matter the purity of their intentions. With ASCENSION and its goal, she had tried her hardest to avoid falling into the trap that was self-destructive autocracy. Still... knowing the destiny of many archons left her... voiceless and fearful.

Kazuya grew more worried as the battle went on, he knows the abilities of his partner and how capable he can be. But he was still worried for his partner's well being, but for now he will have to sit there and pray everything goes as he planned to. The blind trust in Cion's abilities was risky but the man wholeheartedly believed that the risk will be worth it, now to watch as the pieces fall into place now. Royland stood his ground, doubt cleared from his mind as he was ready for Cion's back up. He smiled at the face of his enemies, only serving to increase their rage towards him, the werewolf growled at the smugness of the knight as he rushed towards him with a fist of fury ready to wipe the smile of Royland's face. But suddenly a mysterious figure appeared in front of him, this stopped him in his place. The shock and confusion made him stand there for a while just looking at it, not knowing that this was Roy's comrade. Suddenly out of nowhere this mysterious force began to dance around them, it was as if the world's laws were being rewritten around him. The distortion lifted him from the ground holding him in place as if he was glued to the air, unable to move the were garurumon began to feel the fear coursing through his body for as much as he had hoped that his friend would be able to free him, the minotaurmon had the same fate.
For Royland a being unaffected by Cion's abilities he could not help but feel a massive rush of awe and amazement, the admiration he felt for the digimon he swore fealty to only rose at that moment, he could have sworn that parts of his past life flashed before him as he saw Cion. And for a long while Roy remained speechless, only uttering one word "Amazing" there were truly nothing Roy could say at this moment. Kazuya then got out of hiding and headed towards the rest of the group slowly, trusting Cion paid off more than he thought it would. "absolutely stunning leader, you are truly a gem that gets prettier with time. Now then before we go on with phase two, do you want to ask these fools any questions ?" Kazuya asked, they did have a lot of time till the moment of the supposed induction to the crime family , five hours to be exact.
Royland then headed towards the minotaurmon and began to charge his leg with lightning before delivering a very swift and powerful kick to quickly knock out the enemy, this served two distinct purposes. Firstly the minotaurmon was not an important factor in everyone's plans secondly and perhaps the more important reason is the fear factor this might install in the heart of the very hopeless and defenceless captain of the group, and currently Roy' s main priority was to stop the ridiculously dangerous group of criminals that are using this stupid group as a tool.

As her gaze lingered on the speechless fiends she held tightly in her figurative grasp, Cion blinked at times as her large ears twitched faintly, perceiving the kind words of her allies. As to be expected, the leader to-be remained perfectly calm, acknowledging Sir Royland's amusing amazement and Kazuya's amicable credit. She did so with a single nod and a smile she did not manage to withhold for a second as the warmth of companionship and trust caressed her soul. Although a selfish sentiment, she cherished the affection of those she aligned with and those who simply needed her helping hand.
But neither this task nor the magnum opus of their project were about her, but the digital world and its future in their entirety. Returning her focus to the matter they had to deal with, the silver fennec shook her head, not having any question currently on her mind as she doubted the WereGarurumon had additional intel that was of value. Silence granted the blue paladin the permission to proceed who, wisely so, unhesitatingly incapacitated the unimportant Minotauromon. The less black hearts they had to tend to the better. That left only her and the big cheese of this small group of bandits.
"Excellent work." The restrained Arniomon praised her treasured comrades for the creation and perfect execution of their plan. In this very instance, her sway she had over space-time faded, causing the lupiform savage to fall onto the grassy ground. Not moving, Cion floated above him, eyes in which aureate blazes danced perpetually gazing upon the barbarous raider. As her arms were folded, the lack of emotions she expressed was likely the most uncomfortable aspect of this encounter to him. She was so far beyond his power that he was probably incapable of comprehending it; hence what was he worth wasting a mere spark of an emotion on?
Regardless of his dark dreams, her adversary had no idea what being at the top, to be an apex, truly meant - Nor would he lest a vile entityforced her to unleash the full extent of her concealed might. A fragile Ultimate however was easily not worth the effort. Harrumphing quietly, the ascendant leaned her body ever so slightly forward, wondering if there was a notion of resistance left in the icy mammal. "Will you comply?" She questioned the beast's intelligence with a voice equally as unwounded as her stance. It was obvious what the trio desired, right?

Well well well, looks like the luck of the bandits have run out now. Two of them are properly out of commission for a long while and third is rendered more useless than anything right now, to think they will meet their quick end because of accidentally picking the wrong person to steal from after years of wrong doings going largely unnoticed, it was truly the work of karma. After Roy was done incapacitating his enemies, the noble blue knight left Cion and Kazuya alone to deal with the remaining enemy captain as he went inside to start exploring the shack for the missing digimental, which was the reason they were here in the first place. And just because the scope of this widened does not mean the good deed they said they will do should be forgotten.
Once inside there the knight found a place that was not half bad to be quite honest, one bed likely belonging to the boss, two comfortable looking chairs and a mini refrigerator with a bunch of snacks. Overall it looks good, but the knight was not distracted from his cause as he searched for the digimental. Soon his eyes would find a weird looking monument of some sort next on a table next to the bed, Roy immediately recognized it as a digimental due to already possessing one, so he promptly went to it and grabbed as he decided to head out to see what happened to his friends.
Back to the terrified were garurumon who was hopeless and powerless, only able to look and respond to Cion's command. So when she made her demand Kazuya felt the need to explain what role the despicable villain will play in the plan to catch the bigger fish that is Astamon. "We know everything about what you are doing, so comply and turn into a bait and we might let you live. Do you understand ?" The were garurumon nodded frantically as he wanted to live more than maintain his honor. After the negotiation was over Royland got out to show the digimental to Kazuya and Cion. "Good job Royland, now I need you to do something now. Let us change forms to your armor champ and freeze this guy for us." Roy nodded as Kazuya took his digivice and did something to it before pointing it towards Roy as a light covered him for a second and when it went away a different beast stood in his place.
Soon the lion walked up towards the wolf as he began to shoot ice from his mouth freezing the wolf for now, he then did the same to the minotaurmon and Meramon and brought the three of them together. He then turned toward Cion and Kazuya, he wore a smile on his face. "Part one is a success, now lets take a break while we wait for five hours, lets go in the shack there is some fruit in there. I can go for an apple right now." Royland said as he devolved back to Spadamon, Kazuya nodded. "Sounds like a plan let us go."

Leaving the cherished paladin Sir Royland to his devices, Cion's attention lingered on the vanquished WereGarurumon and the delightful mien of despair he expressed. That was precisely how she savored the villains she encountered and defeated; in taste of their own medicine. If not simply granting them absolution from their darkness by defragmenting them, letting them comprehend what it meant to be a victim was almost as palatable of a delicacy to her. The savage leader was incapable of fighting her as he possessed only a fraction of a percentage of might she did. There were neither hope nor escape for him - solely mortal fear. Excellent.
However she did not display any of these sentiments, instead retaining her professional composure and focus on her captive while Kazuya proceeded by talking with him. If anything, the restrained Arniomon liked and approved the boy's elegant approach. Nodding approvingly to the knight in a truly shining armor who had located the stolen digimental, she watched as he changed forms to attain the ability to freeze this puny bandit king for a few hours. Once the deed was done she calmly addressed her enchanting partners. "The hicksicle will serve as bait? Very well."
No longer levitating, the silver fennec gladly followed her comrades, although she refrained from taking some of the fruit they had at their disposal as they waited for the next event to occur. Who knows how fresh and nutritious they were considering their owners.

The duo chuckled at Cion's remark it was a light touch, a touch this possibly dark situation needed. After all the group not only are in the brink of entering an underground world none of them was ready for, and they directly ended a dream, yes it was a dream of a seemingly simplistic and arrogant digimon. But while the group only saw the three enemies as simple villains, the truth was not what it seems, neither of the three frozen digimon were born as bad people. All of them wanted to blend into society but it kept on taunting them and rejecting them over and over, and that made them snap and regress to bandits, thieves and murderers. So now they are trapped chased by karma and forced to atone to their sins, maybe after this day they can learn the errors of their ways and escape the life of crime they chose for themselves.
Once inside the shack, Kazuya Oda sat on the nearby chair. He let out a yawn as he covered his mouth with his hand, turning towards Royland the man was obviously sleepy so he decided to take a nap but before doing that. "Hey Roy and Cion, whomever is still awake. Make sure to wake me up with at least thirty minutes to spare alright ?" The man asked as he got a firm nod and smile from Royland. "You got it buddy, have a good nap you deserve it. I will keep watch over things and I will have Cion to keep me company, so do not worry about me. " Royland said with a smile on his face, the spadamon then went and grabbed an apple before going to sit near Cion and looking at her.
"So Cion, I can call you just Cion right ? Anyways what I want to ask is, what was your life like before all of this. Before ASCENSION, were you a follower ? A leader ? I am interested in knowing about you more and more." The little lion said with a sincere smile, he then took a big bite from the apple, and immediately had a big smile on his face as the apple tasted like something out of this world, say what you want about criminals they know how to get high quality stuff.

Ultimately, Cion was but delighted that her little quip had sufficed to entertain her treasured friends and partners. Truth be told she did not consider the pasts and experiences of the villains she faced and vanquished. Even if she did, to her these factors were hardly excuses for the present and future. No matter the odds and suffering, people always had a choice to determine who they desired to be. The savage trio of bandits they had defeated had simply made their decision to be criminals. Their end was merely another mission to the small fennec.
If she was capable, in spite of the anguish and agony she had suffered, recently and throughout eons, to be a good-natured sentinel that worked towards nothing less than a global Utopia, then how hard was it to aspire to common content and harmony? It was a shame that most were so easily brought to their limits. However, it was also the reason that had enabled her to be here today. It was this realization that had set her path. Creating ASCENSION, internalizing the ways of proper leadership, self-reliance... she chose to learn from mistakes, lessons and pain.
Yet the restrained Arniomon had no intention of permitting philosophy and ethics to get in her way by letting them claim her focus and certainty. Instead she kept her outward and inner composure as it was befitting for a fine lady of her caliber and ambitions. Turning to Kazuya who was clearly sleepy, she nodded, gladly allowing the comparatively fragile human to repose. "Of course. Rest well, dear." She wished him genuinely as her aforementioned opinion was not an insult, but a plain fact. Enabling the young man to sleep, she took seat on a window's sill, calmly observing the outside darkness. Nighttime was the epitome of tranquil serenity to her. Savoring it was easy.
Appreciating the company of Sir Royland who joined her, Cion gently smiled at him while listening to what her charming companion sought to tell her. "Certainly, Roy." She swiftly and kindly dismissed any notions of forced courtliness. First names were adequate considering the bond they shared. Contemplating his question for a minute, she leaned against the wooden frame behind her, folding her arms as her simper shifted to a neutral expression. Her aureate eyes continued to linger on what was on the dark horizon as dreams, times and realities intertwined in an attempt to formulate an appropriate response.
"I had always been a follower, darling. Through peace and war, progress and regress. I was a rebel, a soldier, a mercenary, a parent... and I strove to make those I cherished happy. I knew nothing else and was content, even when the digital realm changed itself and me throughout a seemingly endless cycle. I still remember places and events lost to the sands of time so vividly..." She sighed, tugging at the fur on her chest as she took in a deep breath. "I hoped things could last forever regardless. But they did not. Nations... people... ... love... they changed. In the end, when I had nothing left to lose... I did as well. I became what I needed to be and what you asked me to - someone who aspires to achieve something that finally lasts - the leader of ASCENSION."

With that the tall raven haired man starting to drift to sleep, this was a longer than he had expected so he needed some well deserved rest. But it took him a little while to sleep so he indirectly listened to parts of Roy's and cion's conversation about her past lives, this fascinated the young man. Reincarnation is a fascinating topic that always alluded the golden eyed man, but to digimon this was not a mystery but just a part of who they are. The man wanted to ask a lot of questions about reincarnation and how it feels to remember who you were in a past life...but would you look at that Kazuya drifted off to sleep before he could even begin to ask his questions.
Royland however was listening intently to Cion's tale about her past, Royland felt like he could partially relate to her. Of course the white lion only had one life before it but he remembers it vividly and to live through the pain and regret was a burden too heavy on his shoulders so he could only imagine how Cion must be feeling, but Roy can live through the pain and smile for the sake of his friends. The spadamon took another bite from his apple as Cion finished her story the digimon, it took him a couple of seconds to process everything he had learn just now and it was a lot.
"Woah so you had multiple lives before this one ? That must feel... strange, I only had one life before this. I remember it even with the boring details, and sometimes I wish I have an ability to go back in time and fix the mistakes that I had once made. I wanted nothing more than to go and back meet everyone again, Dukemon, Tactimon, Jijimon, my father and maybe even get a chance to meet my mom. But I would especially want to go back and meet those two again......" Royland as he went silent for a couple of seconds his brain wandered off to a distant memory the memory of an Impmon and Lopmon who were closer to his heart than anything and anyone to this day, this included even Kazuya who could not even compare when it came to those two. "Oh but, now I longer feel that way. I will carve my own future a future that will honor the wishes of my fallen teacher Dukemon and our band of knights. And I think this cause we are aiming for, will be the one place where prejudice no longer holds any precedence over anyone. A world where everyone could achieve true harmony and live in peace, that's what we will make. So you can take the lessons you learned during your past and mold it into a dream worth believing in." Royland said as his brilliant vivid and beautiful golden eyes met Cion's, the digimon exuded and air of radiance and excellency and nobility as the fire of his will burned oh so wonderfully.
But wait there is something that took a couple of seconds to sink in, a detail that Cion kind of blew past by. "Wait hold on a second, you had a kid ? Who was your romantic partner ? And what happened to kid ? In fact what happened to both of them ?" Royland questioned as he looked a little confused, a shame that Oda was asleep and unable to hear all of this.

Strange... that was certainly one way to put it that caused Cion to chuckle with a bizarre sense of delight. Yet she nodded, acknowledging that Sir Royland was not wrong with his assessment. The cycle of life and death was quaint to say the least. Most digimons were grateful for it, but some individuals like her also recognized the toll it demanded. There was a sentiment of meaningless she perceived in everything she did as long as she knew the loop as an unbreakable constant. The universe rises out of data, inhabitants prosper, all-encompassing deterioration eventually claims the cosmos and the end is reached - then a restart.
This realization was painful, but it did something for the silver fennec few had the blessing to ever receive. It truly allowed her to pave her own way for a future unshackled by this burden. It was a vast, strenuous road, but the knowledge that she did not tread it alone absolutely sufficed for her to continue, no matter the eons of work and sacrifice that awaited her. She had been witness to the dowers of existence, its joys and sorrows. For those souls not yet emerged out of the digital ether and those sharing her dream, she gladly attempted to change the status quo.
It was with a faint smile that the restrained Arniomon cautiously listened to her chummy companion's tales as he had done for her. It was quite easy for her to relate to his feelings. "Changing the past... it's a shame that it's impossible. Then again... I'm not sure if I'd alter anything. Without it, I would not be me, and you would not be you. Perhaps... how things played out, that they led both of us and Kazuya here, is, despite our and the world's woes, as ideal of an outcome as possible." She speculated calmly, her gaze often shifting from the outside night to her two partners.
Continuing to internalize Roy's story, Cion realized the anguish her noble knight must carry within his radiant soul. Regardless he pursued his ambitions admirably thanks to her serving as a catalyst for those who clung to the same hope. He was not only an unyielding anchor she needed, but a wonderful friend she felt fortune to have met during her darkest of times. It was of no concern to her if it was fate or a coincidence. She'd never cease cherishing his and his digidestined's presence. "I'm confident they will be there the day ASCENSION triumphs, even if they can't remember."
A comforting warmth slowly caressed her core, the heart of her being, as her aureate eyes looked into the blazingly golden valor of the chivalrous Spadamon. The vivid passion they eradiated born out of an adamant will was... appealingly enchanting. As the small fox sat by the white lion's side on the window sill and tugged at her chest's fur, she leaned slightly forward, beholding the marvel in front of her. For a moment, it was as if nothing else mattered and solely the stalwart warrior remained. Him and his voice, appearance and scents... and their wishes...
Abruptly blinking, it was the next question asked that tore her out of her second of bliss. Awkwardly shaking her head faintly, the Arniomon rested against the house's frame, tittering nervously while folding her paws on her tummy. "Y-yes, sort of... an adopted son. He'd been an egg when I found him in a park. I and Owen the Gaomon, my former love and now sibling in spirit, had cared for him for a period until the kid determined his own path. That was in my first life... so unfathomably long ago." She answered quietly, taking in a deep breath to regain clarity of thought. "Neither of us knows what had happened to him, but I am sure he achieved contentedness."
As her view swayed to behold the beauty of the natural darkness that was only pierced by the stars and moon, Cion carefully pondered about an adequate response to Sir Royland's final puzzler. Trying to speak a reply that was not too emotional was, considering the topic, challenging. "Owen is the leader of the 7/71st Recon, attached to a different lover, and has amiable children. He remembers our shared past but not the emotions that are a part of them, unlike I. We decided to adapt yet stay kindred spirits. That's why I and my brother still wear each other's scarves. It initially hurt, as you can imagine, but... I no´longer have regrets."
Softly stroking the small accessory tied to her neck, the graceful fennec sighed with a dreamy simper. The tides of destiny were simply incomprehensible, but she did not mind. Eventually, which was her opinion and desire, she would craft something everlasting. Preferably, as per her current cause, it was enjoyable by all those who sought harmony and peace. In some respects, she still was a parent. Her feelings at least explained why she loved her nephews unconditionally. Logan, Bezel... whomever would await her in the future...
